The indecisive heart

One Night, Carol left her notebook by accident in the libary and her friends found it... now it was her time to fess up about her crushes.

Lessons were over, the sun was slowly setting as Carol returned to her room. She sighed given a lot of stress was behind her and she could now slowly take a breather… but then she noticed something about her bag. It was gone… the notebook she kept about her relationships, feelings and thoughts… despair set in her heart and the stress was back. She hoped she locked the book and just left it accidentally in the Library… she was about to rush out her room but then… 

She noticed commotion in the dorm and every of her friends looking at her… she noticed Keres held that same notebook in her hand… she gulped in terror as the group heard suddenly a knock. 

"Hey Carol, ready for the Su… shi… oh.." 

Leroy barged in but seeing the tense situation and Carol's notebook both him and Lyla put two and two together… that her friend discovered her secrets..  that they looked into the book at least. 

"Carollie, Mellomar and I already went through our crushes… seems it's your turn now." 

"Can you at least tell me how you got the book?" 

Orion smirked. "You left it open in the Library, be lucky we found it." 

She was the most terrified of what Kirsten made out of what she read already but given the situation she couldn't back down… after all they read enough and it was only fair she gave them the whole picture. So she took a deep breath. 

"Lyla, Leroy… I am sorry but I won't come to Sushi night." 

Leroy had a snarky smile on his face as he and Lyla sat down and spoke up

"And you think we just leave… we know most of yours anyways and… this could be fun." 

Carol let out an exhausted sigh. If only today wasn't that loaded with work… if only the stress didn't make her forget it, then she wouldn't be in this situation. 

'But also maybe it does help talking about this to finally make a decision myself… ' she thought to herself.  The group of friends all settled down comfortable in the Ramshackle lounge. Orion seemed to keep the notebook a bit away from Melody,  Carol could guess why, Melanie instead tried to chat with her and Hinata a little while Keres and Kirsten looked at her with somewhat sharp eyes, Nyphy was looking curious at Leroy's tail while he and Lyla mumbled about how many they could guess. As Carol took a deep breath to brace herself for this. 

"You can ignore the first few pages, cause they are the only people that bother me." 

Hinata looked down as he read 3 names that were all too familiar with him, blushing a little as some of the others in the room looked at him worried or groaned. Carol gave a disappointed look as Kirsten spoke up.

“You should have just kicked Barry, then he wouldn’t bother you.”

“That's just not the person I am… anyways I just keep these few notes to avoid people that give me headaches so, moving on.”

She knew if they badmouthed them and lingered Hinata would feel bad so she quickly derailed the topic and tried to steer them to the first candidate.

“That one was an obvious one, it's Jamie.” Keres exclaimed pointing at the book. Melanie suddenly raised her head in surprise. “Really?! I didn’t expect you to like him too.”

“Wait… too?”

Melanie suddenly shut her mouth as if saying something she shouldn’t have said but Carol gave a satisfied nod and smile escaping her with a blush… as Kirsten coughed telling her to speak up subtly. Keres looked back at Mel.

“It was pretty obvious how she looked at him when he was training. Those eyes were staring.”

“Hey it's not only that!”

“I also saw her read a lot of books about Knights lately.” Melody smiled innocently as Carol looked back at the group. Leroy snickering in the back. 

“He is just… such a gentleman to me, he puts people that bother me in place, helps me when I struggle to get through Ace and Deuce, and just being close to him… it makes my heart race… and of course as you mentioned before he is very attractive to me as well. And well it's true those books might have given me a romanticized view of Knights too but just… seeing that smirk… having him near and eating something nice with him… “

She looked off dreaming a little as Orion stood up and gave her a pat on the back.

“T-that is all I wanna say about him, anyways moving on.”

“Hey Melody, can you get us some popcorn to snack on?” Orion exclaimed as Melody got up with a happy nod… Kirsten turned to the next page and looked serious at Carol.

“You know what we did this… why the hell is Melody's brother Rowan on here?”

Carol froze up…Leroy was about to say something as Kirsten gutted her elbow into his side. “Ouch.”

“I wanna hear it from her.”

“R-right… I didn’t want it to happen myself but… as I met him we got into talks about Flowers and I had some curiosities about certain types and its meaning, so I gave him my number and.”

“Bold Carollie… very bold.”

“I c-couldn’t help it… he has those soft eyes, this nice muscular body… this gentle nature I just… he was so sweet and I just felt more and more happy chatting with him.”

Orion laughed in the back a little as Melanie looked up at her with a smile.

“You seem to like him a lot though from how you talk… and I can get it, I love tending to flowers so it's nice to get to talk to someone.”

Hinata also nodded. “Also that blonde is a nice shade on him.”

Carol nodded with a smile. “Around him I just feel I can nerd about plants and he listens to me… as well as the flowers I got from him… I keep them dear. “

Kirsten groaned. “Urgh just move on. I don’t wanna sit here forever.”

Melody came in with the bucket and looked at the group. 

“Did I miss something?”

“Nothing important, you wouldn’t know the person anyways.”

As she said that she could feel some judgemental stares from Keres and Kirsten at her before they turned the page.

This time Melanie looked in first.

“Oh Jonas is a sweetheart, I can get you with that.”

Keres tilted their head. “But you do know that he is- Ouch my boob.”

Kirsten left a swift punch at them as if to tell Carol to continue as she pressed her fingers together.

“Yes I know and I don’t care. He brought me happiness not only by bringing me back to Piano and so honoring my friend Eve who is not here, he was nothing but a cute and sweet guy that I just love being around… “

Melody clapped her hands and smiled. “Seeing you next to each other also gives me those wholesome couple vibes.”

Carol blushed a little hearing that… Most looks at her were in approval as she carried on.

Orion tilted her head. 

“Do any of you guys know this Vigil guy?”

Lyla spoke up. “Even Leroy and I haven’t seen him yet, we at first thought she imagined him up.”

Keres perked their head up. “I do remember Carol telling me about him after I ran away from Achilles that he saved her from an attack but… that is all I know about him… can you tell us more?”

“It's a bit complicated to explain myself… he is somewhat of a guardian angel… and I mean he literally is an angel… I can’t even choose when I get to see him, he just appears, gets me out of an uncomfortable situation and has to leave again… yet… that he goes out of his way to help me and to see him like that… it does make my heart race.”

“Yes she became crazy…” Kirsten sighed. “I AM NOT.”

Melanie spoke up. “She really isn’t… I saw by accident how something like that happened and he is real…”

“Good… cause I actually thought sometimes if I dreamt him up…”

Nyphy spoke up. “So you fell for someone you literally don’t even know exists?”

Carol sighed… “Did you ever feel something if you read a book and liked a character so much you swooned for him… anyways let's just drop this all I can say is… if he is real or not… I just appreciate all he does and… I wish I could see him more often.”

Suddenly as Keres turned the page they started blushing.

“No way, you too?”

“What is Keres?” Melody tilted her head.

Melanie looked over. “Oh my…”

“Not only does she also have Jesh on her list just like me… but Lustre and Maya are right after.”

Carol hid her face red in shame before speaking up.

“L-Listen… as I often went to the mansion to tutor Sin the three made me feel a bit homey there… I just find all three very attractive… even if Jesh’s attitude goes on my nerves… that is all, nothing more nothing less.”

As she tries to defend herself Leroy smirks as well as Orion mumbling while Lyla just avoids her face, mainly because she actually knows what has been going on in Carol's head.

“It's probably also for dir-”

Before Leroy could speak up, Lyla scruffed him by his neck as if to tell him to be quiet.

Looks were exchanged as Carol just grew in red panic and mess before them.

“It's mainly just Lustre and Maya treating me well and making me comfortable and weak, Jesh is just literally his attractiveness that draws me to him… that is my honest opinion, c-can we move on?” Keres nodded in approval as with a smile as the rest turned the page.

Melody looked curious as she pointed at a page.

“Kalida… isn’t he from Scarabia?”

“Doesn’t he have stitches on his mouth, what is up with that?”

Carol cleared her throat. 

“It is because he is part Naga… He may seem intimidating to many but getting to know him… he is to me very sweet and just misunderstood. “

“Wait, so does that mean he is Venomous?” Keres asked.

“Lennox is too and he seems to swirl around both Melody and Melanie so hush. I met him in the library and even if he is less on the talkative side, there is something charming about him… I feel he deserves love but doesn’t get it much. And his flute playing also calms me a lot.”

Orion snickered. “Something tells me you will have a lot of tall monsters on your list.”

“You… would be right in that regard but… to sum it up… I just care about Kalida a lot and hope he gets accepted more…”

Suddenly Melody looked a bit confused. 

“Carol what is this “potential” thing that is next to the name?”

"Oh! Those are people that I don’t have  an actual crush on but are close to me. It could be that I have feelings but don’t realize them.”

Keres suddenly seemed more awake and looked over the book.

“No way then… then Henry Lakeside is-”

Suddenly Leroy spat the Soda he was drinking and Carol looked away from him.

“NO WAY YOU WROTE DOWN MY BOSS! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?”

“Cause I knew you would react that way? And as said I wrote him down as potential, I could be wrong but I do like a lot about him.”

Lyla tried to calm Leroy down but he still talked. 

"She deserves far better than this stuck up ass rich man. "

Carol coughed fakely as if to tell him to shut Up and he did. 

"The reason I put him here is I do enjoy spending time with him. I often worry about him overworking as well as… He does look handsome and also treats me well in regards with respect and helping me as well. I feel close to him." 

"Tch… it just makes me sick… his family can be so corrupt and you're just not… fine I will be quiet. "

The other girls looked more in understanding while Leroy grumbled away as Lyla noticed something.

"Why is there an arrow to the next site?" 

Carol nodded as if realizing something. 

"Well… I met Nauwe thanks to Henry… and he does seem to have interest in him as well…" 

Keres chuckled. 

"You as well think about I can take them both-"

Once again Kirstens annoyed stare shut them up as they sat down. 

"IT'S NOT THAT…I compared Henry to actually having a crush on him…he and his culture are very fascinating…and-"

"Isn't that also a guy who walks around Shirtless 24/7?"

"Keres,you can't talk."

"You two are so predictable…" 

For once both Carol and Keres shrugged at the same time as Melanie and Melody laughed a little… the previous tense mood lifted and Leroy calmed down as they continued. 

"Anyways another thing you will not only notice with Nauwe but with some others on this list is… I also am interested in learning other languages to understand people. More and… there is something that sends shivers down my spine when someone attempts to court someone like that."

"You probably brought that up because of Esca right?" 

Melanie had the book in her hand and asked. 

"Y-yes… the way he pins me to the wall… the way he calls me Mi Amor… I am just- "

"Urgh we get it, keep it in your panties. "

Kirsten snapped at her as Carol tried to dust off something from her skirt and continued..

"It's not only that… just seeing how he takes care of his cats is precious… the way he always gives off this gentle aura… I just feel swoon by it.”

Orion leaned back and grabbed some popcorn into her mouth. 

“Dang, some of the other picks seemed more exciting.”

“What did we expect from Miss Righteous?”

“Trust me, I saw some interesting things Carollie put here…”

As Keres smirked Carol shortly worried what they meant and continued.

“And on that topic, who I put under potential was also Azure… I met him in RSA when I was on my way to teach Fabio under a tree and even though I do care a lot about him as a friend… Yuuta tries to set us up as a couple and it doesn't help."

"It's good he is out currently…" 

"If he was here I knew he would just shut down any of my other crushes and push for the ones profitable to him." 

Melanie spoke up after Carol complained.  

"But you do actually feel something for him or else you wouldn't have put him In here." 

"Yes I do enjoy Azure's company a lot and when he is near me… but just a lot makes me unsure… For one I don't wanna give Yuuta the satisfaction of thinking he got us together and I also don't even know if Azure would be interested in me romantically." 

Melody and Melanie put a Hand on her shoulder.

"You can always try asking him… subtly." 

"Maybe… let's move on, we still have lots to go through."

As the next topic was brought up someone wanted to actually get out of his room but stopped as he overheard the conversation.  

"Des, huh Is it alright to even talk about him when he is here in the dorm." 

Carol played with her hair and blushed. 

"I think the walls are thick enough for him to not hear us. But well … aside from him helping me with that wayfinder I wanted to make, he is just to me very supportive… he has that charm about him and the times he complimented me as being his model for drawing makes me happy." 

"What I learned today is that Melanie, Keres and Carol are all blind to people liking them back." 

"Huh?!" 

As Kirsten said that bluntly all three looked confused at her as Carol explained herself. 

"I just wanna be sure and don't interpret any kindness in that. But anyways… Des is just a person I can always rely on to feel well around."

From the previous door Des closed it to not give away he heard their whole conversation… This was his secret for now… as the girls moved on.

Keres chuckled reading the next name. 

"Well this one has an obvious crush on her from what I saw…" 

"Oh Punch, isn't he in Kirstens dorm?" 

"I don't pay attention to some nerds." 

As Leroy heard her say that annoyed, he somewhat looked down. 

Melody asked her more about it. 

"Punch to me is somewhat of a buddy… we are in the board game club together and I get along with his sister well too… yet I only put him under potential because we are that close. But you really think he has a crush on me." 

"Carollie… it is way too obvious… he always hides that blush around you." 

"I-I see… I never thought people would actually be liking me this much…"

In particular Leroy, Nyphy and Kirsted stared at her judgy while Hinata chuckled.  

"That you get so many following you and being close to you is proof enough."

Orion laughed."If we went by that, Keres would be popular just cause so many people chase them but that is not the case."

Keres sighed as Carol let out a chuckle. 

"Either way, Punch is a sweetheart but seems often a bit too wholesome that I feel I would overwhelm him so…"

"Wait, I thought you would stay away from Kombatra at all cost, why is Kaminari on this list?" Melanie seemed confused. She was often visiting Kierron there so she must know.

"I met him outside the dorm and we often drink tea together… he allows me to watch him train and I often join him too. He has… this very soothing aura to me and…. His eyes are really beautiful. I just feel not only safe around him… I feel like thanks to him I grow a lot myself too.”

“Angels, Deities, you really don’t shy away from anything.”

“Come to think of it, she has many long living people on her list, you know they will probably outlive you.”

“That is a risk I am willing to take… if it's to be with someone I care a lot about.”

As she said that so determined many gave her a light smile however Melanie seemed the most happy about her choices.

“But I did see how you are next to him, it feels like you are far less stressed and just happy… so I can see why he somewhat became a safespace for you.”

With a determined smile she nodded yet Lyla spoke up.

“I think we are halfway there right, who is next?”

Eventually a sigh escaped Keres as they read the next name.

“Not you too… you also have a crush on Florence like Melanie….”

Carol flushed a little and put her finger together as Leroy spoke up.

“Oh that guy often went to our Sushi nights. I remember, today he said he was busy with the infirmary.”

“Florence not only helps me with my curiosity about medicine and getting better at taking care of others, it's so nice of him to often check up on me and see that I don’t overwork myself… “

“If that is what you care for, she does that often also if you don’t want it.”

“Keres!” Melanie looked at them as they sighed.

“I am sorry but I just really can’t stand it, It always feels so off.”

“That is fine, you don’t have to like him, but I really adore how sweet he can be with his comments and how well he reacts to praise… it's cute to make him blush.”

Melody chuckled. “He really is cute, I understand.”

Keres laughed at the next choice.

“Guess many of us can agree on Daido but I am surprised… you do know he does cause a lot of destruction right?”

This was the first time Carol actually stood in silence searching for an explanation but then she spoke up.

“I feel he needs someone to be there to calm him and take care of him… he always seems so tired… as well as he has Kimi to take care of. “

“‘I can fix him’ mentality huh… but I can understand you crushing on him, have you seen his body?”

Kirsten once again punched the back of the head from Keres to keep them from speaking, visibly tired from listening to this… 

“Given he is already pretty popular I hardly think I have a chance but… That doesn’t stop me from maybe having some hopes… and I do also enjoy just helping him out with school work.”

Melody got curious, flipping the page.

“But you noted Raede as well?”

As the group looked into the book they gasped a little, Kirsten having a small smirk that already bodes terrible to her too.

“Dos of all people too… you really are after Single fathers huh? Isn’t he also the one who beat up someone till he was bloody?”

“I never said my taste is perfect… but I still have people on my list that have the potential to change or just didn’t murder anyone.”

“You never know-”

Melanie tried to break up the commotion by commenting.

“Anyways, can you tell us why you like them?”

“Right… Raede in all not only that I take care of Raysel, he is very sweet in giving me flowers, as well as often spending time with him in the greenhouse and talking about some Romance stories is calming… even if I myself also have fallen for Daido, I feel Raede also deserves more people who appreciate him. Dos meanwhile… I did go for an exchange to DAC where two of my crushes came from and just seeing those big eyes look at me as I played with trinity and told something about me, he seemed a very sweet listener even if a bit odd.”

“To me this only sounds you are into di-”

“Tch…” Leroy shivered as Kirsten had this glare at him again.

“Alright I stop before Kirsten punches me again.”

“So let me guess, Parker also started a crush from  that exchange?”

Hinata sighed as he looked at the picture they had as Kirsten gave him a punch in the arm. 

“We get it if you like blondes… Carol, do you even know anything about this man?”

“Not much actually… but the time I was at the exchange program… there was just something about him that drew me in… he watched out for me… he did also show me how to use a gun a little…”

“And you didn’t ask yourself that it's odd that he knows very well how to use one?” “Kirsten… he is from a combat school.”

“So you know him well Kirsten?” Melanie asked.

“I heard rumors… he is polite I must admit but… I would watch out.”

Carol gave a nod. “If I ever feel unsafe I will back off.”

“Tch you all are pathetic and hopeless with your crushes really.”

She sat back and drank some soda as Leroy watched her curiously, Lyla sighing next to him.

“Explain to us more why you have not one but two Vampires on your list?”

Keres pointed to the pages of Damien and Daniel next to another.

“Come on you say that like you don’t stare at Alucard a lot despite him being hella intimidating.”

“This is about you, not me.”

Carol sighed and suddenly flushed red thinking about the both.

“Damien is to me just very much like one of the book protagonists I would fall for… how many times he pulled me to the side and protected me…Those red striking eyes that looked at me in interest, he often also catched my fall… hah…there is something very attractive about him.

Daniel on the other hand… I managed to help him with his troubles through training.”

“I saw this ‘training’ . It seemed more like a free pass to stare at him.”

“It's more so I try to understand him more, but you would also be right that he does often get me a little more to be a mess, often his comments make me slip up and make me blush like crazy… but it's more so me wanting to guide him to a better life you could say… ignoring my crush… I do want to make his life better than what I feel he went through.”

Melody jumped up. “And you wouldn’t mind becoming a Vampire from them as well?”

“I am… unsure but maybe… I know when it comes to blood I am more worried but… if it means staying longer with them, I would.”

The Group went silent, some in concern, others smiling at her… mixed reactions all around as she quickly tried to get back.

“Um l-let's just move on for now.”

“For fucks sake, you have Watson on this list…”

Kirsten gritted her teeth in annoyance.

“I know he seems odd but there is something charming about his oddness… he is also pretty romantic which I enjoy. “

Orion chuckled. “I feel Kirsten is more annoyed cause he attempted to give her a rose too and she punched him in the gut in return.”

"Oh, really?"

Kirsten grumbled a little as Leroy spoke up.

“I did hear that he seemed to be a former delinquent… at least Greg mentioned something.”

“The past is the past, the times I met him he was just very much someone charming. I also did talk to him and it seems more like his brother's influence…”

“Can we just fucking move on… I get tired hearing about him.”

“Wait, aren’t Adam and Terry your students? And isn’t Adam a prince?”

Melody shouted excited…

“I wonder why you even have Terry on the list when he is just staring at your chest a lot…”

“I noticed, don't worry…  but there is more to that… let me just.”

She took a bottle of water and drank from it because she had been talking for a while.

“Terry is one of my hard to get something done with students… but he also is often in the Library as I am so it feels comfortable to just chat a lot… he did also offer to help me get better at running and so I tutor him a lot. I put him under potential cause again… in that regard I feel he likes me more than I like him but that could change… there is something about him that often makes it hard for me to refuse things or want to spend time with him.”

Keres chuckled. “It's the wolf's eyes, cause I remember you mentioned on the page with Jesh too that you get weak when they use their eyes on you.”

Quickly she grew bright red. “H-Hey no fair you remember that!”

She tried to calm down and went back to talking.

“Adam on the other side is one of my hardest working students and I notice that… I am also just happy that he often does enjoy my failed food experiments and eats them happily. But I think the reason I mainly like him is… it's really uncomplicated to just talk to him about things and he is always so kind to me. And even if others find some of his puns or flirt attempts odd, I actually find them entertaining.”

“Be glad you found a dumpster for that horrid food, I mean didn’t the last one you made move.”

“Kirsten!” 

As she shrugged Nyphy looked in horror… “It really did look scary.”

Carol looked down… but then suddenly had an idea.

“Well there are actually two people who help me improve that and are also on this list… Adam is also one but… Ronald also helps me a lot to improve.” 

“I feel half of your picks on crush are either just normal guys or monsters.”

Melody smiled after Orion said that.

“Oh I remember this guy,  the treats that dorm makes are amazing.”

Carol nodded approvingly.

“He noticed once that I had struggled with cooking and since then I just enjoyed chatting with him, even if it often seems he scolds me a lot for wanting to do too much at once. I appreciate just him being there talking to me as well as listening to him teach me how to prepare some dishes.”

“Then you should chat less and focus more on what he is teaching you or else you will create more blobs.”

Some giggles went around the room as Hinata spoke up.

“It can't be that bad.”

“How about you try one then?”

Carol sighed and took some purple taffys that looked like they were breathing out of her pocket. Hinata gulped but then ate some of them, humming happy.

“They taste good, I don’t know what you guys mean.”

Carol's eyes lit up in happiness as the rest of the group sighed… 

“Only 3 pages left it seems, let's just finish this off.”

Leroy suddenly perked up.

“No way, Sawyer… I only heard about him from Gregory and he seemed grumpy and scaryas I saw him.”

“Well that sounds up Carollies taste from what we saw for sure.” Keres said a bit teasingly. 

Carol adjusted her glasses and cleared her throat again.

“He is part of the Kendo club, you might have seen him as well Keres, given you know Nanoya.”

“I don’t see half of these other members.”

The group went silent. Carol just tried to continue the conversation.

“Sawyer does have a tough shell… to many he may seem mean but I seen more behind it, at first I also thought he just disliked anyone but… getting to know him and having the chance to see him more… he actually does care and he actually did help me a lot despite me not asking him too…  I still can’t tell if I even have a chance at him but… I at least wanna try to know why he is like that and be there for him as well.”

“Just don’t get your hopes up too much, Carol… Greg said he basically doesn’t talk to any of his dorm members… however this means at least.. maybe it's a good thing you can talk to him.”

Lyla took the book and went to the next page.

“So about Cho-hee?”

Keres suddenly perked up again.

“I totally understand her with that actually. He is a cutie.”

Orion looked in the group. “He is in my dorm, I wanted to fight him a lot and always found a way to dodge me.”

“I am glad you didn't. I feel lots of people also just dismiss him because of those scars when a heart of gold is under there.”

“You really are into scars in general huh… many of your pics have them.”

“Maybe… I want to mend them… make them better. But that is not the point here… just having Cho-hee around…I feel happy. Especially when he gets embarrassed and tries to hide his face… it's just the sweetest. “

“You really have something for sea creatures too huh?”

“THIS ISN’T ABOUT MY TYPE.”

She sighed and took the notebook back from the girl's hands into hers.

“So lastly is Emrys, a powerful magician, very easy to talk to and he does his best to teach me about things I didn’t know.”

“So you two basically are teaching each other?” Melody asked as Carol nodded.

“And another likely ancient guy to her pile too.”

She sighed hearing the comments and tried to calm.

“I don’t only like him because of that, the things he can do are impressive, he is often there to just answer my questions and support me, as well as keep an eye out for anything he can help me with. I enjoy his company a lot.”

“You really are in some regards a hypocrite Carol.”

Keres chuckled a little as Carol got pouty.

“Excuse me, but at least I did not name some obvious murderers or people that are just bad news all around.”

Kirsten seemed tired and got up as Leroy and Lyla looked at the time.

“Midnight… guess we really did talk long.”

“Can I please ask them not to touch my notebook? Yes it will get longer but it is actually my private space to get my thoughts off and in order.”

Orion smirked. “We can’t make any promises.”

And so Orion, Hinata, Kirsten and Nyphy left for their dorms. Leroy and Lyla put a smile on and looked at her.

“I still don’t like that you do like my boss but… ugh I guess I gotta accept it.”

“Just be careful about your decision, we don’t want you to get hurt.”

“I know… I can rely on you two.. and Lyla I know I can tell you anything.”

“I am glad I knew most of this and you did tell me a lot, or else I would have worried you don’t trust me as your friend.”

Both of them left as well only for her to sit with Melanie and Melody.

“That was brave of you Carol to tell so much about them.”

“I know Kirsten will use it against me but… better to be proud of it now and be called a Hypocrite than never talking about it at all… maybe this night helped me to make a decision.”

“It's just good to see so many people care about you.”

Melody finished the last of the popcorn and then asked something.

“Actually, who was the person I missed during the talks?”

Suddenly Carol grew in panic again.

“Um I feel a bit tired, hope you don’t mind me going to sleep, good night.”

She clung onto her notebook and rushed off to her room… sighing in relief this was all over.

“Hey Dad,” you say coming down the beach to sit down next to Maverick on the sand. “Hey, kid. Where’ve you been?” he asks leaning over in his chair to give you a hug. “I was staying with Mom, working on some online classes. And, she started paying me to work at the bar and open early, since my days are free, but my nights are busy since Bradley is in town, so I’ve been doing that. But, she gave me today off. I was just sitting up there with her, but thought I’d come talk to you since you quit Dogfight football early,” you say with a laugh. He chuckles with you, before coming in with his next statement. “So,” he says, looking directly at Bradley, a grimace on his face. “I never would have imagined my kid would end up with Nick and Carole’s kid. Even if y'all were the same age I never would have imagined it, even less imaginable that you’re eleven years younger than he is,” he says, looking over at you. “I know it isn’t conventional Dad, and I know it’s kinda weird. But, if you really think about it, eleven years really isn’t that big of an age difference. I mean, look at Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Or Jay-Z and Beyonce, Priyanka and Nick Jonas. I could name more, but it would be pointless.” “Okay, I see your point. And I am happy for you. But you have to remember, I just found out when I came back. You and I talk twice a year, and Bradley still isn’t talking to me. Your mother knew the moment it happened. That was almost a year and a half ago,” he says looking at you. “I know Dad. But with Bradley being mad at you, and you and I barely talking after you left again, it just seemed like the right decision not to tell you. Then, when you were at the bar when Bradley and I went in, I got scared. Like you were going to be mad at me for falling in love with your best friend’s son,” you say, looking up at him like a lost child. “I would never be mad at you for that. Maybe it isn’t conventional, but when has anything a Mitchell ever done been conventional?” he says, before standing up, grabbing your arm and pulling you up as well, and pulling you into a hug. “I am so proud of you kid, and I always will be,” he whispers in your ear, before pulling away, and walking up to the deck your mother's sitting on. You smile at them, happy to see your parents together again, a part of you still feeling like a 13-year-old girl, watching her parents start to be happy with each other again. Even when her mother had married Amelia’s father, you had always secretly hoped that in the end it would be your parents. Then Amelia’s father left and it became a possibility. And now, right before your eyes, it was finally happening.   As you stood looking at your parents, you had no idea that the game of football had ended. You could still hear the soft chatter of the aviators behind you, so as you turned around, you never expected to see Bradley standing right behind you. “Hi Roo,” you say as he pulls you into his arms. “You’re gross and sweaty,” you say laughing, and jokingly push him away. “Hey! You can’t push me away, I haven’t gotten my kiss yet,” he says, tightening his arms around you. “Bradley,” you breathe as he leans his head down and starts gently kissing your neck. “Bradley, my dad is right there. And my mom for that matter,” you quietly say, not putting forth any real effort to make him stop, in fact, you start gripping tighter to the Hawaiian shirt he had thrown on. “You’re the one who made me do this,” he says, pulling back to look at you. “I just wanted one kiss. One simple kiss,” he says with a smile. “Oh really?” you question, looking up at him, with a sly smirk on your face. “Well, one for now. More later, but one for now,” he says, and you finally give in and let him kiss you as he leans back down. When you try to pull away, he tightens his hold on you and deepens the kiss when you gasp from the tightness. You begin to hear wolf whistles coming from somewhere behind you, and you force yourself away from Bradley and turn around to give the pilots that are watching you the bird. “Don’t you guys have anything better to do?” you yell to them from where you are standing. They laugh, and you watch as they all start walking up towards the Hard Deck, knowing that it was about to open.  You and Bradley follow, but it isn’t long before Bradley is pulling you aside again. “Let’s go back to your house, since everyone is up here,” he whispers into your ear. You blush, and shove him away. “How about a walk on the beach? If we go back to the house now both my mother and sister will know why,” you try to compromise with him. Due to the assignment he was on before, and the training for the mission from Top Gun, the two of you have not been able to have time alone together in a while. “That was a good compromise baby. Let’s go for a walk,” he says, and grabs your hand. The two of you walk along the beach, hands swinging in between the two of you. As you walk Bradley tells you what he can about the training that he’s going through, which isn’t much, and is essentially just him telling you the challenges without disclosing anything.  Eventually you stop walking and just look up at him, loving simply listening to him. “And these curves we keep having to… What’s wrong?” he asks you, concern washing over his features as he notices that you stopped walking. You just look up at him in awe. “Nothing Brads. It’s just… It’s just hard to get used to.” “What is?” he asks you, still slightly concerned. “Being the someone that someone cares for. I mean my mom loves me, but she’s also had Amelia, her exes, and my dad. My dad loves flying more than anything, except maybe my mother. But you, you’ve shown me what love really is. You’ve shown me how to love, and what it’s like to be loved. I couldn’t have asked for anything better,” you say, leaning into his chest while looking up at him. Bradley is speechless. You’d never opened up to him about your family like that before. He knows you love them, but he never knew how unloved you felt. “Y/N,” he says, pulling you close. “I love you so much. Why did you never tell me that before?” “Well it’s not necessarily something you want to admit. The fact that you’ve never felt absolutely loved before. But knowing you forever, and then falling in love with you, it made me realize that I want to tell you everything about myself.” At this revelation, he just pulls you tighter, before letting go of you. “I know we’ve only been dating for a year and a half, but I know I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you. And, I know my father would have loved you, and that my mother would love you even more if she knew we were together,” he says, before pulling you in for a mind numbing kiss.

Avengers: The Children’s Crusade (Part 3)

So after a number of discussions about where Wanda (and Vision) are likely to appear post Multiverse of Madness in the MCU, a lot of rumors and ‘leaks’ are pointing to a likely Young Avengers Children’s Crusade adaptation. I’ve not read the run in some time, and decided to refresh myself and do a breakdown of it for those not familiar with the story. I’ll be including my commentary about how I think they could adapt this for the MCU.

This series of posts WILL HAVE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS SPOILERS. If you have seen MoM or don’t mind, feel free to keep scrolling. It will also obviously have spoilers for the comic stories Avengers Disassembled, House of M, and Children’s Crusade.

PART ONE - Background Info from The Vision and The Scarlet Witch (1985) and Vision Quest, Avengers Disassembled, and House of M

PART TWO -  New Avengers #26, X-Men #204, Young Avengers Presents #3, and The Mighty Avengers #21-34

Avengers: The Children’s Crusade (2010) #1-5

We start the issue with a quick recap of the past few arcs and an introduction to the Young Avengers team.

Spectral’s Commentary: Once again, trying to convince me Jonas!Vision is just Vision. Nope. Not buying it Young Avengers.

The Young Avengers and the actual Avengers are fighting the Sons of the Serpent, and there is an explosion. At first the teams think it was the Serpent’s, but it was Wiccan’s powers. After they’ve returning t their headquarters, the YA team are worried about the levels of power Wiccan is using, thinking he may become another Scarlet Witch (who is still MIA to their knowledge).

Carol (Captain Marvel) fills the YA crew in on what happened with Wanda Maximoff, recapping Avengers Disassembled and House of M for the kids and the reader. It prompts Billy to ask if they believe he and Tommy are the missing sons of the Scarlet Witch.

Billy still doesn’t believe Wanda was capable of the horrible things she did, and argues that she must have been controlled by some other force because she was a hero.

Background: The Scarlet Witch was Billy’s favorite Avenger, and he had an encounter with her when he was a boy in Young Avengers Special (2005) #1, before his powers manifested. She gave him some motherly advice that ultimately led to him discovering his powers, though he nearly killed another teenager who was bullying him in the process. This is part of why he’s a bit touchy about the subject of The Scarlet Witch.

Billy walks out, and the YA’s find him. They seem just as worried as the Avengers, afraid of Billy’s abilities after what they just witnessed. Except Tommy, who supports him. Even Teddy (Hulkling, Billy’s boyfriend) tells him he’s worried.

Billy goes home, but Captain America is there waiting for him to bring him back to the Avengers headquarters for monitoring. While they fly back, Billy asks Cap about Wanda.

Steve warns him that being connected to Wanda isn’t going to “win any friends” after what she’s done. Billy challenges him, asking if the Avengers ever considered Wanda may have been innocent, knowing her history of being used and possessed. Hulkling shows up saying he’s going wherever Billy goes, and Cap is ok with that. They are given a guest room at the Avengers which Billy pulls a Wanda on and makes much nicer.

Billy and Teddy are about to have a nice couple moment when Tommy interrupts. He tells them he’s rescuing them, and Vision phases in through the wall. Tommy uses his ability to vibrate everyone’s molecultes fast enough to vibrate through the wall (like father like son?) and once they are outside the rest of the Young Avengers are there waiting. Billy argues that he should go back, because he doesn’t want to put his friends in danger, but they suggest he go looking for the Scarlet Witch instead. Their reasoning is simple enough - if Wanda did all of this in response to losing her boys, she can undo it once she knows her boys are still alive.

As they discuss the matter, Magneto makes a trademark Big Entrance, saying it’s time Billy and Tommy meet their grandfather.

Issue #2 picks up there with Magneto tells Billy and Tommy he accepts them as his grandchildren, and that they need to go to Transia together. Billy tells him they have already been there and she wasn’t there (as shown in Young Avengers Presents #3).

Patriot and Kate Bishop don’t seem convinced, and while they argue the Avengers show up to stop Magneto. Billy once again argues that the Avengers should go find her, but Magneto understands the truth of the matter.

Billy decides the only way to resolve all of this in-fighting is by finding Wanda and he casts a spell, teleporting the Young Avengers away. The Avengers decide they’ll let the kids lead them right to Wanda so they can finish the job, taking out both her and Magneto.

Unsuprisingly, Billy’s spell took them to Transia. Billy wants to send his friends home but they once again tell him where he goes, they go. They also make fun of Magneto being ‘the world’s oldest Young Avenger’.  Oh and Billy uses magic to disguise them, dressing them like the Von Trapps. Like mother, like son apparently. (Jonas!Vision in the nun outfit is far funnier than it should be to me)

Patriot expresses his concerns that they are betraying the Avengers to Kate, and Jonas!Vision tells Cassie he has a bad feeling about all of this. From what he has observed, magic always comes with a price, and he is not certain anyone will like what the price might be.

Magneto stops at Magda’s grave, telling theboys she was his wife and therefore their grandmother. He fills us in on backstory (all of which has been retconned since), talking about how he lost control of his powers and Magda fled to give birth at Wundagore Mountain. She died and the twins she gave birth to (Wanda and Pietro) were taken in by the Maximoffs until Magneto saved them from the mob (going back to Wanda and Pietro’s origin story in X-Men (1963) #4. He regrets the way things ended up and tells Tommy and Billy he will not let the same thing happen to them.

They all link hands (after Tommy grumps about it) and Billy is able to sense Wanda in the village nearby. Tommy takes the initiative, wanting to show off his own skils and darts off only to run into Quicksilver. Pietro tells him if he and the Young Avengers don’t leave, Magneto won’t be the only person he kills. Magneto and the rest of the Young Avengers join them, and Pietro warns him off.

Billy tries to reason with his uncle, but Pietro just picks him up and runs off. He tells the boy he is only trying to save him from Magneto, and Billy reminds him that if he wants to get away he can just use magic and suggests they work together towards their common goal of finding Wanda. They are interrupted by Speed, who comments on his similarities to Pietro who challenges him to a race (Tommy wins but mostly because Quicksilver was distracted by Magneto).

As they get back to the village they spot Wanda, but Quicksilver’s attack against Magneto backfires and he impales her with a stake - and reveals that she is a robot. A Doombot, to be precise, and the issue ends with the team realizing Wanda is a prisoner of Dr. Doom.

Issue #3 starts with a quick recap of who Dr. Doom is, and how he uses both sorcery and technology. Pietro is convinced Doom is holding her captive, but Magento makes a good point:

They formulate a plan to infiltrate and try to find Wanda. Billy triest to sneak off and go to Latveria alone with a transportation spell, but Quicksilver catches him and they talk. Before they can leave together in secret, the rest of the Young Avengers join them however and Teddy is not happy.

Teddy once again threatens that if anything happens to Billy they’ll have to deal with him, and we cut to the Avengers who have summoned Simon Williams aka Wonder Man. The Avengers want Simon to help them track down Wanda, and he argues that Vision or Quicksilver would be better choices. Iron Man tells him that because Wanda rescurrected Simon, his existence is the last remaining trace of Wanda’s magic on this plane of existance. He thinks they can trace Simon’s unique energy signature back to find Wanda. Simon asks the important question though - what will they do when they find her. Wolverine is blunt about it and tells him they need to kill Wanda, and Wiccan too, and Simon punches him.

Simon declines to help the Avengers, but tells them he will go find Wanda before Wolverine can and flys off alone.

Billy leaves Teddy a note explaining that he is going to go off and do some recon in Latveria, and that if Teddy reads the note it means he likely has been captured. He’s found by Doombots, but he disguises himself as Wanda and asks them to take him back to Wanda’s room.

It works and he’s taken inside - only to be attacked by Wanda herself. She asks what he is doing there and he tells her he is there to rescue her from Dr. Doom. Wanda tells him he’s mistaking her for someone else, and that she’s getting married tomorrow to Doom, who finds them together.

Issue #4 begins with Doom attacking Wiccan. Billy accuses him of kidnapping Wanda and putting a spell on her, but Doom and Wanda tell him she is there of her own free will. Billy keeps pushing, telling Wanda she’s The Scarlet Witch and Doom tells him to stop, claiming he is trying to protect everyone.

Doom ends the fight by hitting Wiccan with a blast of fire. Wanda tells him the boy was harmless, and Doom tells her she is too trusting and that by being linked to him she will have many enemies.

“After the wedding tomorrow...nothing and no one will ever come between us.” Wanda tells Doom. We cut back to the Young Avengers, Quicksilver, and Magneto planning their attack. We also see Wonder Man arriving, and reaching out to the Avengers he knows followed him.

Doom uses magic to heal Billy from their fight, and tells him that what is best for the world is if Wanda remains unaware of who she is.

Doom goes on to explain that Wanda came to find him, on behalf of her people. He tries to appeal to Billy by telling him they are similar - both had mothers who were powerful sorceresses, powers that emerged at a young age, and that they share enemies. He reminds Billy that if the Avengers find Wanda, they will kill her. He offers Wiccan protection, telling him he can stay as long as he wishes - or if Billy refuses he will be a prisoner, and reveals that the healing spell also took Billy’s powers away.

The Young Avengers start their plan to save Billy, splitting into two groups. Quicksilver takes Patriot and Stature, and sends Kate and Hulkling with Speed. Jonas!Vision will work on his own to use his phasing abilities to work around Doom’s security. Before they can initiate the plan though - the Avengers arrive.

Billy tries to use his powers and is interrupted by Wanda, who asks him about The Scarlet Witch.

He agrees to tell her if she will help him escape. While they walk through the tunnels under the castle, Wiccan fills Wanda in on their history.

When they emerge, they walk straight into a fight between Doom’s forces, the Avengers, and the Young Avengers. Wolverine goes after Wanda and Wiccan tries to fight him off, and Iron Lad appears to save the day, saying he’s back because the future depends on him saving Wanda and Wiccan.

Background: Iron Lad (Nathaniel Richards) is from the 30th Century of Earth-6311, and is one of the many iterations of the entity best known as Kang the Conquerer. Iron Lad was also a founding member of the Young Avengers. He left to return home after slaying Kang, to ensure the Young Avengers were not erased from history (Young Avengers #5). His suit of armor became Vision 2.0 aka Jonas, and his mind was the template much like Simon Williams was the template for the original Vision.

Issue #5 begins with Nathaniel’s arrival causing a commotion, and everyone realizes Billy and Wanda are missing. Doom has taken them away from the fight, and is hurting Billy while Wanda begs him to stop, telling Doom it was her fault.

It gives Magneto a chance to catch Doom offguard. Wiccan runs off, and tells Wanda to come with him before Doom can capture, kill, or marry her. They reunite with the Young Avengers plus Nathaniel.

Doom catches up to them and Nathaniel pulls them all into the Timestream, just as the Avengers find Doom. He explains what he was doing - trying to keep Wanda safe from everyone, but he failed and now Wanda could unleash havoc across the past and future.

The Young Avengers and Wanda discuss where to go, deciding to show Wanda the past. She agrees, hoping that if she sees what she did she may remember, and that way she can try to set things right. They agree to go back to the day the Scarlet Witch brought Jack of Hearts back to life (aka the beginning of Avengers Disassembled).

The arrive at the old Avengers Mansion before it blew up and Wanda looks around. While she does that, Nathaniel, Jonas!Vision, and Cassie have a little love traingle chat.

Spectral’s Commentary: I think it’s funny how no one can agree if Wanda and Vision divorced, annulled their marriage, are just seperated, or if she was a widow. It seems to be different each time it gets brought up after Vision Quest.

Before they can resolve this, Cassie runs off because she see’s her dad, Scott Lang (who was killed by Wanda during Avengers Disassembled). He points out that the Jack of Hearts costume is in poor taste and the team find Jack of Hearts approaching Wanda, reanimated. He begs Wanda to not make him go through with her plan, but the team pull her out before she can change history and jump to another time.

The Mansion explodes again, only Scott Lang is with the team when they jump. The Young Avengers end up back in their original timeline in the same location, but Iron Lad isn’t sure how they got there because his suit is still recharging. Wanda, now in her Scarlet Witch outfit, tells them she did it.

And that is where we’ll end Part 3. The second half of The Children’s Crusade will be discussed in Part 4.

Llega la cuarta edición de MUTEK.AR muy especial, haciendo foco en brindar mayor visibilidad al enorme talento local que, apremiado por las circunstancias adversas de los últimos años, ha sentido gravemente la falta de escenarios y oportunidades.

Con la Dirección de Gonzalo Solimano @gsolimano y la Curaduría General de Marianella Baladán @manchusbaladan , una selección de artistas nacionales, en diálogo con artistas internacionales, dirán presente del 7 al 10 de septiembre, en el Centro Cultural Artlab @artlabpro , el Planetario @planetarioba y Palacio Alsina @palacioalsina.buenosaires mostrando lo mejor de la música electrónica, el arte sonoro y la creatividad digital, con Live Sets Audiovisuales, obras de arte NFT, realidad virtual e instalaciones inmersivas.

Asimismo, gracias al apoyo de Fundación Williams, MUTEK.AR tiene el honor de recibir a Alain Mongeau, creador y actual director de @mutekmontreal , quien junto a profesionales y agentes activos de la cultura acompañarán en todas actividades del festival y ofrecerán una charla abierta acerca de la gestión cultural en la creatividad digital.

En el Centro Cultural Artlab: actividades de Amplify D.A.I. + exposición de arte NFT

El 7 y 8 de septiembre, en el espacio del Centro Cultural Artlab celebraremos el fortalecimiento de Amplify D.A.I., el programa de desarrollo profesional para personas que se identifican como mujeres y disidencias, que trabajan con las artes electrónicas. Dos días enteros de programación, que incluirá talleres, workshops y charlas, performances en vivo e instalaciones inmersivas. Asimismo, presentaremos proyectos artísticos audiovisuales creados por artistas de Argentina, Canadá, UK y Brasil en el marco de la segunda edición del programa Artlab Residencias Artísticas x Amplify D.A.I. Cerrando la jornada, la emblemática curadora de MUTEK Montréal, Patti Schmidt, presentará su DJ Set, en colaboración con el dúo audiovisual PRIFMA (AR/CU).

Lanzado en 2018, AMPLIFY Digital Arts Initiative (Amplify D.A.I.) es una iniciativa conjunta del British Council en asociación con MUTEK Montréal, MUTEK.AR, Somerset House Studios, Artlab, Fundación Williams y Oi Futuro. El programa cuenta con el apoyo del Canada Council for the Arts.

El 9 de septiembre, Artlab desarrollará actividades durante toda la jornada. La mañana estará destinada a distintas charlas, a cargo de referentes locales e internacionales, con tópicos tan interesantes para la escena de las artes electrónicas como la web.3, las Daos y la gestión cultural en la creatividad digital. Planetario y Palacio Alsina

El 8 de septiembre, de 20 a 21 hs, el Planetario servirá de contenedor espacial para dos obras fulldome. En primer lugar, Joaquina Salgado y Qoa, dos artistas argentinas del programa Amplify D.A.I., estarán presentando la obra de formato AV Hydrontes. A continuación, tendrá lugar Dynamics of Hiperespaces, una live performance AV del referente de sonido techno y ambient argentino Jonas Kopp junto al español con residencia en Berlín Efren Mur.

La última jornada, contará con una maratónica programación en Palacio Alsina con imponentes presentaciones que tendrán entre ellos al proyecto artístico argentino Forello, al reconocido artista multidisciplinario francés Maotik, y a NITTA, la artista española residente del club Tresor de Berlín.

So as mentioned in my previous post about this bingo, my birthday is next month. And for that occasion I wanted to host another bingo! Like my last bingo in October 2021, this one will have moodboards to the squares. I’ve hit 1.5K!  Thank you to everyone who follows me and likes and reblogs my stories.  It brings me immense happiness that my stories bring you some sort of comfort or joy.  I honestly never thought I’d make it to this many followers and I’m grateful for every one of you.

So I’m going to list the rules and prompts you can choose from below.  Have fun!

Rules:

This will run for a week starting today (April 18th) and ending (April 25th at 11:59 PM).  If the prompts fill up before the end date then I will close the requests and announce that it’s over.

I will list prompts below and if you would like to elaborate on what you want (say it’s a soulmate AU you want, specify if there’s a specific type of soulmate trope you want written about like matching tattoos, timers, ect.)

Please specify the gender of the reader if none is specified then it will be left gender neutral.

No smut, sexual abuse, rape, drug use, heavy topics

I will allow three characters per prompt.  There will be no repeat characters per one prompt.  Let’s say I get two requests for a Bucky Barnes soulmate AU, I will do the first request that I get.

If I am overloaded with one character (like I did with Damian one weekend) I won’t be taking anymore prompts for that character.  I’m sorry but it’s not fun for me if I have to write for the same character over and over again during events like this.

You can choose two prompts, whether you want those two prompts used in the same story (like an AU prompt with a quote prompt) or if you want two separate stories.  If you are requesting separate stories you have to choose two different characters.  You can’t say you want a Steve Rogers with a High School AU and a story with one of the quote prompts.  It would have to be Steve Rogers High School AU and Thor with a quote prompt.

Final Thoughts

Okie Dokie, I actually liked this movie a lot.

The acting was absolutely phenomenal, especially on Alexandra’s Daddario and Taissa Farmiga’s part, the characters were so well played. They focused in on so different points of view in this story that it captured the chaos that they were living individually and as a group under one roof. It constantly kept you on edge with the strange nuances in their dialogue, unnerving pauses and the progression of the condition of each character. 

It was great. The aesthetic was there, the small but necessary breaks with dark humour really kept the story flowing and most of all, the fervour. It was everywhere, in their emotions or outbursts like Charles at the dinner table and on the stairs, or the way the townspeople kept adding fuel to their own personal hell. And I must admit, it's hard to make characters like Jim the firefighter relevant, but every person that this story involves has a distinct purpose and significance to the plot.

The only negative thing I could think of was I just wish there was more, I wanted it to be longer so that the small gaps in the movie could have been powerful. Okay, what else. Yes, Charles Blackwood, despite all of...that, will make a great character for me to touch on and has a lot of interesting qualities that I will be sure to tap into. Oh! And the only reason why no one else is getting the stan award was that my coffee mama was the only character who wasn't off the rails or just a terrible waste of human life! We stan!

Won't get scared, that's the old, old, old me’

The stars waltzed in the sky just outside your window while you sat on your bed, face in your hands as tears streamed down your face. Your girlfriend came in, prying your hands away from your face and resting her hands on your knees.

Looking up at you with concerned hazel eyes, she asked you what was wrong. You couldn’t bring yourself to speak. You don't even know what had started your breakdown. Carol leaned up, holding your face in your hands as your eyes fluttered shut.

Pressure appeared on your left eyelid, then your right. Carol kissed away the tears falling down your cheeks, whispering sweet nothings to you. Trying to bring you away from your thoughts using her touch.

‘I'll be there, time and place

Lay it on me, all you're hold, hold, holding

Time, time only heals if we work through it now’

Whispering to you as you lay on her shoulder, her hand running through your hair as she held you close. You listened to her heartbeat as she kissed your forehead, muttering sweet nothings to you the entire time. You finally felt yourself start to be drawn away from your thoughts.

”And I promise we'll figure this out, I will take your pain” Carol whispered, fingers twirling soft hair/color strands through her fingers. You smiled softly, burying your head in her neck and letting your worries fade away.

Ever since then, Carol became more caring, more loving, scared she had caused your breakdown. She came home from missions quicker, spending more time with you when she could. You were the person who mattered most to her, she promised she would never hurt you or let you down. And she planned to live up to it.

Remembering the first time you met as you sat on the bed of your shared bedroom and how unexpected it was. She had crashed into the blockbuster near your house, you drove over and gave her some clothes and helped her out. You’d never expected her to come back, much less for her to become one of the strongest avengers.

You flipped another page in your photo album. There was a picture of when she finally confessed to you, you smiled at the happiness on both of your faces as you kissed.

Fidgeting with the small promise ring she had given you, you flipped another page in the picture book. The blonde came into the room, saw you looking at old pictures, and decided to join you. More often than not, Carol got terrified of being with you. There were countless times she wanted to break up because she thought she wasn’t enough for you. It took hours of reassuring her that she was everything you wanted. Even after it, the blonde was barely able to believe she was dating you. You, the strongest and most beautiful woman she had ever met, wanted to be with her.

You sang softly, dancing with Carol in the kitchen of your new house. The blonde had finally convinced you to move out of the compound and into a house with her. All of the boxes were still strewn all over the place, neither of you had bothered to unpack.

Thanks to fandom, I have also published The Panem Companion, a guidebook to The Hunger Games; an essay in Fic! Why Fanfiction Is Taking Over the World about RPF, looking mainly at One Direction; and an essay with infographics in Divergent Thinking, an anthology about the Divergent series. I’ve also gotten to speak at San Diego Comic-Con on a panel about fanfiction!

I like woman-focused narratives and analytical lenses, weird and thoughtful linguistic choices, rich worldbuilding, when the good guys (and especially gals) win, women written as full people with dignity and respect, men who adore the women in their lives, and healthy relationships after sad characters get the therapy they need.

I love fics that take a tiny corner of a huge canon universe and dive deep to flesh out a place or a character that canon doesn't give its due.

Some people think I’m angry all the time, but I’m actually a very bubblegum happy girl -- I’m just a Jewish feminist who loves yelling and sees spirited debate as a bonding activity (and I have high standards and no energy for excusing bad behavior just because a character's hot).

Fictional ISFJ pairings with every other MBTI type

Hey tumblr! For kind of no reason at all I decided to do a little mini project and compile a list of pairings in fiction between my type (ISFJ) and each of the other MBTI types. I love Myers Briggs and think it’s really fun and I think the dynamics between any two types can be so compelling and interesting.

A couple notes: I included canon pairings and popular noncanon pairings. This includes movies, TV, and books. Typings are either from Personality Database if it’s a character from a fandom I’m not in, my own typings, or from Funky MBTI in Fiction. I definitely feel more confident about some typings than others. Some combinations of types seem to be much more popular than others: ISFJ x ESTP is very popular, and some type theory suggests they are the “ideal” pair. I had a bit of trouble finding ISFJ x INTP pairings, but there are a couple on here. First name listed is the ISFJ, second name is the other type paired with them. If I don’t specify whether I’m referring to a book or TV/movie adaptation, I generally mean both the book and its adaptation.
