Kinda hilarious that this was all Chuck’s fault

Like, he never intended to keep bringing back the angel with a crack in his chassis, but any time Cas died, Dean would become inconsolable and go entirely off script

So Chuck had no choice but to resurrect the angel in order to get Dean to play his role

Their love is what foiled God’s plan, in every way that matters

my new Destiel theory: Dean couldn't say I love you not because of his own denial of the fact but because Chuck refused to write it like Chuck's weird psycho-sexual obsession with Dean made him so twisted that rather than allow his character to follow a natural arc that the character itself wanted to follow (see s8 rewrite of "I love you" into "I need you"), he just kept dodging it through increasingly ridiculous and pathetic ploys. he couldn't bear to watch Dean choose free will (Cas) over his heavenly ordained plan, so he just kept fucking with their relationship (see every divorce/widower arc, and all the other will they/won't they shit). really puts Cas's "What's real? We are." into context. like they are, in fact, the only real thing, despite Chuck's attempts to dismantle their relationship.

Canonically, Dean never said Cas’ name after the fake phone call in 15.19. Canonically, while Bobby said Cas “Helped” revamp Heaven into a Heaven that Dean “deserved,” Cas never showed up. Canonically, Dean left that heaven, which contained his family, to go “find family.”

There is a glitch that is Cas-shaped, and Dean knows it.

what i would've given for season long big bad alastair over season-a-million-and-one of big bad lucifer. chuck should've sprung alastair out of the empty in s15 instead of lilith or lucifer. would've fucked with dean specifically way more during his s15 breakdown of what's real to have to also confront the guy who had him in a torture chamber for 40 yrs and who he definitely hallucinated abt post-hell bc he's the one who teaches sam how to use pain to break out of his lucifer hallucinations. also imagine the torture alastair could inflict on dean in s15, knowing abt cas and how their relationship has changed since the last time alastair met them. alastair instead of lucifer coming back in 15x19 and inflicting torture on a despairing dean. dean opening the bunker door thinking cas is on the other side but then it's alastair, his literal worst nightmare.
