💖Myvan💖

Physical touch is a love language for both of them. They’re usually in physical contact with each other in some capacity. Cuddling, sharing kisses, holding hands, even just sitting with their shoulders touching.

Whenever Mylene has a nightmare or gets scared by something during the night, she’ll call Ivan and he’ll stay up talking to her, no matter how long it takes her to calm down.

They regularly spend their weekends together doing different kinds of volunteer work. It’s kind of like their humanitarian version of date night, just something they enjoy doing as a couple.

Kim is always doing the craziest and stupidest dares to try and show off to impress his GF. Ondine thinks it’s cute and kind of sweet…up until the point she has to take care of him because he broke another bone.

Whenever one of them has any sort of event for one of the various sports they each play, the other will be in the stands, cheering them on louder than anyone. (“THAT’S MY GIRLFRIEND, FUCKERS!” is something you’ll commonly hear Kim shout as Ondine dominates.)

Whenever Kim and Ondine are in a picture together, he insists on doing the ‘Will Smith Gesturing to His Wife’ meme. He just needs to show off how amazing his GF is.

Jules and Rose once decided to switch their style aesthetics for the day, and everyone thought it looked super weird but they also kinda slayed. Neither could stop blushing all day.

They once discovered they had each written a song for the other on their anniversary, and thought it was so sweet. They ended up combining the two songs into a duet ballad that was so beautiful it made everyone cry.

Juleka likes to hug Rose from behind and rest her chin on top of her head. Rose is just so small and cute that she can’t help herself.

💖Brecken+Evie💖

Brecken’s hugs are the best things in the world to Evie. His beefy arms, coupled with the fact that he’s just naturally really warm make him an amazing cuddler.

Evie has the voice of an angel (my preferred actress for her would be Cassidy Ladden) and hearing her sing is the best thing for Brecken. Sometimes when they’re alone he’ll ask her to just sing something for him.

You’d think Brecken would be the more possessive one with Evie being a bombshell who happens to come from a rich family, but it’s actually Evie. Whenever anyone flirts with Brecken, she’ll grab his arm and death glare the hell out of them.

Brecken is always worried about impressing Evie’s family, and proving that he’s good enough for her. They actually really like him, but he’s still really nervous being around ‘wealthy, high-class folks’.

💖Anthony+Jesse💖

Anthony has always been able to calm Jesse down when he starts to panic, even before they started dating. He’s the first one by his boyfriend’s side when Jesse starts to spiral and won’t leave him until he feels okay again.

Shortly after they began dating, Mylene pulled Anthony aside to tell him how happy she was for them and that she knew he’d be good for Jesse. But just before he left, her entire demeanor changed and she told him with a death glare that he swears stole a piece of his soul “Do Not Hurt Him.”

They like to go on dates to watch macabre plays together, a sort of compromise between their interests.

Jesse sometimes lets Anthony do his makeup and everyone is always blown away by how stunning he looks with the dark aesthetic.

Bonus Bonus:

Margo may or may not have a huge crush on Reshma…neither confirming or denying.

How do you feel about Diamond Castle?

I like it enough. I appreciate it being an original fairytale and it does mostly have that classic feel to me, but I tend to just enjoy it completely on my own or with select people because of the whole "cottagecore gf goals uwu"

I mean, it's certainly creative in some points. The whole idea for the Diamond Castle, a place adorned with jewels that gains one with each new song created in the world, is super neat. And I like Alexa and Liana having a fight where you actually understand both sides when it could've been easy to just make Alexa wrong (which, she kind of was, with the whole not going to save the world thing but i mean she was also right they could've died for that). When I actually sit down to watch it, I end up having a good time for the most part.

But there are some things that nowadays bother me, like Alexa and Liana leaving the Diamond Castle when they deserved so much more. I also found myself questioning Melody's recount of the falling out of the Muses. I know that for the audience, it's supposed to be clear cut, but in-movie, it sounds like we're missing context. Why did Lydia want to take over so badly? Did Dori and Phaedra really try to reason with her? I mean I do believe Lydia was meant to be evil or at least incredibly selfish, but it feels a bit weird now.

I like the soundtrack a lot, but I don't like Melissa Lyons and Cassidy Ladden together. Lyons has a classic soprano "Disney Princess" voice and Ladden is has a pop voice. They sound great on their own but don't mix that well together. If one of them had switched up their timbre/color of sound for this movie it would've worked better. And the soundtrack itself is a bit mixed. Some of the songs lean a bit more folk-y like "We're Gonna Find It" but then others like "Connected" are definitely pop covers. It's a bit inconsistent.

I'm not sure I like the twins much anymore. They can be amusing but like...IDK, they just didn't seem all that necessary. Even in the storybooks they're cut out, so that tells me they were really needed. If they needed to justify the Ken doll, they could've had a male muse instead or something.

I guess if you told me to summarize my feelings in a single thought, it would be "mixed". I'll still enjoy it if someone wants to watch it with me, but I'm exhausted at the same time.

Summary: My Senior Year. Man was I a mess. I was doing my stage management internship while writing my twenty four page research paper. Which, I had no plan for at all that year. So, I decided last minute to just do it on my favorite fairytale and just run with it. My professor had me rewrite the first half of my paper at least ten times that semester before I even got it right. And, by that point I was stressing on whether or not I was going to even be able to finish my paper.
