#cassie o'pia's bees

Just... thinking about Cassie and her bees, ya know?

And uh... I really, really like the concept of Cassie referring to herself and her bees as us and we. I have no real (canon) reason for this idea, I just think it's neat.

Like, they're psychically linked, and she feels so close to these little creatures of hers that they (her and the bees) kinda become a singular entity in her mind, occasionally, especially at the times when their opinions or goals are closely in sync. When she was alone in the Gulch there was probably alot of that, this sort of melding, and even post-canon I imagine she'd be more prone to it– to slipping into the plural to describe self.

Just... because she's spent so long with the bees, all alone besides their company, and with both her and the bees completely wrapped up in this shared goal of protecting Cassie (protect the Queen! Protect the Hive!) It just makes sense for them to think of themselves as a unit, with the bees being an extension of herself and her will, and Cassie being an extension of the bees and their will. I wanna get into the nitty gritty of psychic connections and how a link like this might work, how it might affect the psychic doing the linkage and what they're linking to, how there's probably feedback (not to mention factoring in that the bees are psychic, too), but this is meant to be a short post, so maybe later.

Anyway, I just think it'd be neat. Like, imagine the first time someone asks her (her, singularly her) a question and she responds by saying, "We think that's a great idea!"

And the other person's like... "Uh... We?"

blorbo - fav character(s) - ouh god how could i not go for sasha and milla. its obviously them. oleander and loboto are great too but ohh those two have permenant residence in my mind. i tend to think about sasha more because he's an off-putting and very autistic green science man but theyre both great. milla makes me want to fall down on my hands and knees thinking about her for too long. no milla your swag is too strong. they'll kill you. they should watch austin powers movies together and smoke a bunt. they come as a set tbh. do not seperate!!

scrunkly - the 'babies', cuteness aggression character - half the games cast are teens/kids and raz is Literally Ten so the baby half of this is answered for!! why are you a child! anyway real answer though? no idea. i hardly see characters as the baby unless its for the bit. i want to comfort the kid versions of the adult characters you see in memory vaults though, does that count? enough horrors, lets go get you guys an oversized lollipop!!!

scrimblo bimblo - underrated/underappreciated fav - i think frazie aquato, raz's older sister, definitely has horrors and things going on and i wouldnt object to seeing her side of things during psychonaut's story. like, shes a psychic too! but she kept it hidden from her family because they hated them! and then thats suddenly flipped on its head and everything she was taught to hate about psychics, and by exstention herself, was just a big contradictory lie?? dude. i'd kill. theres more i could add onto this but the context is some pretty big spoilers so i shall zip my lipz.... i also need to think about cassie o'pia more. the tall bee lady!!! i really like her level in pn2, ive gotta dig my teeth into her story more. also her and compton qpr realness!!!

glup shitto - obscure fav - i cant think of anybody who feels obscure to me tbh! even the campers in psychonauts 1 have their own quick moments. speaking of, i'll probably go for chloe from pn1. shes just a weird alien girl!! sheegor too, she's great. a true obscure one though?

poor little meow meow - pathetic fav - i cant think of any favs i have that fall into the controversial category so im going for guys who are just lame. and i think loboto has plenty of those moments, it has to be coach oleander. hes really lame. i think hes just neat. i should rewatch a gameplay of the rhombus of ruin again just for him he has some great moments. sasha, are you holding the talking turtle. we love a short king etc. ...oh and maybe raz's dad just a little bit. nothing wrong with him besides being naturally flawed i just think hes a bit lame in pn2 and thats fun actually. does his wife know if hes single? i mean what. who said that.

horse plinko - character i'd torment for fun - oh theres a guy i have in mind but his entire identity is a spoiler. so, besides him, probably sasha. not because i hate him but rather i just want to throw him at the walls and see what would happen, lovingly. i mean i constantly used raz's psi-powers to attack other characters so i guess i was built for this but definitely sasha. i want to turn him into one of those gooey alien toys and throw him as hard as i can at the ceiling <3

eeby deeby - character i would send to superhell - ford cruller. why did he fucking do that. i'd let him out after a while im sure he'd be fine. also those scary children from the milkman conspiracy level because they were creepyyyy...

Cassie O'Pia!

First impression: Technically meeting the Green Needle Witch, I thought that design was super cool! Then right before actually meeting her I hated the bees because it took me 5 minutes to realize how to get past them (I wasn't thinking about the smoker okay lol). After meeting her officially I loved her voice and really liked her (also thought she reminded me of Mama as she bent down because the two have long dresses, at least with the honey combs Cassie wore)

Impression now: I still really like her. Her level is really fun even if I still haven't 100% it yet. Definitely still love her voice and am willing to play her level again just to hear her librarian selves talk.

Favorite moment: I like her trying to deny that she's the Green Needle Witch with Raz just explaining everything that makes her the GNW and then she's like... Yeah, I might have been playing into it a bit.

Idea for a story: I don't really have anything in mind for a story. Maybe something from the past with her and Compton, or possibly how she got away from Fannie and Shanghai. idk.

Unpopular opinion: I don't think I have any. Kinda wish we got more time with her Green Needle Witch design. (As you can tell, I like that version of her lol)

Favorite relationship: Her and Compton. Whether it's as friends, queer platonic couple, or a legit couple. The two are really nice together.

Favorite headcanon: She plays around with different kinds of flower combinations to get different honey flavors. If she writes another book, it's gonna be about all the strange combinations of honey from mutant psychic flowers Bob created.

In the meantime, here's a spooky sketch of a concept I came up with:

What if the Green Needle Witch was real? And would spectate the Psychic 7 throughout the years? I imagine it being a kind spectator of sorts who would leave gifts for them since it found them so interesting and endearing, and would lead kids to the nearest civilization if they were lost instead of outright killing them. They prefer to be hidden away, being more interested in their bees than society.

She has paper cutouts of her friends in her brain, even the one who apparently just decided to go supervillain. She became a Bee Witch. She has librarian swag. She is not my blorbo but I wish she was because she is very cool.

Continuing my work, so I had to choose what outfit to draw Cassie in-- Counterfeiter was the one I went with. Her back view looks weird, but it's a simple reference with the things I need to keep in mind.

Cassie's canon design could also work for this, but I don't think I can make her hair look good every time she comes up-- Maybe if I try drawing that outfit? But this is a different time period from that, so... Who knows what she'll end up in. Probably not me /lh

One day the wasp decided to destroy the beehive. Six strong bees started to attack back.

The first bee told a story. It was bad. 

The second bee sang a song of peace. The wasp did not love him. 

The third bee was asking for help from ants. They said, 'I don't want to.' 

The fourth bee used vines. But the wasp broke loose. 

The fifth bee tried to freeze it. The wasp didn't notice.

That first bee is very disappointed. She had failed in many ways.
