i do in fact love the idea of miguel being this tragic man who lost his daughter that is so desperate for a chance at happieness he goes to another universe where she’s still alive and well but I also think an interesting concept is if like. the miguel we follow didn’t even have a daughter to begin with. Like he just found a universe where he was happy and inserted himself into this family he knows nothing about and this little girl he has no genuine memories attached to but he’s happy here and he think that coming to this place will take all of his trauma away in the snap of his fingers. He’s taking this little girl to soccer practice and making her breakfast while the corpse of her actual father rots away behind a dumper

Yep, yikes I’m going there. Again all theories so I’m open to conversation/opinions on this!

Jessica - She’s not gonna die. There’s no way. Spiderverse is known for breaking boundaries but they aren’t going to kill a pregnant woman.

Miles - Again spiderverse is known for breaking boundaries so killing a protagonist is not outside of their range but I do not think they can kill Miles because of how integral he is to the trilogy and general synergy with comics and video games. Miles is too important of a character outside of this film in a monetary and societal way for them to kill him off in my opinion. He is the character that people associate with ‘Anyone can wear the mask’

Peter B. - The man has a baby. They aren’t gonna kill him. It just isn’t gonna happen. Nor will they kill said baby.

Hobie - They won’t do it. I love him but I don’t think his death would be enough of a catalyst or whatever. Like I just can’t see it. Not to say he isn’t important to the story but with the role he takes on, his death wouldn’t make sense.

Ben Reilly - I’m not even sure he’s currently alive lol. Gwen broke his watch and then tossed him into a random ass dimension. He’s probably fine… He’s fine.

Noir - unlikely. It wouldn’t have the emotional impact a death would need in the next movie. If, for whatever reason, multiple members of the team die then I could see it, but just him? No.(either way bro’s been resurrected multiple times in the comics, he’s fine.)

Ham - ok I could see it, but only in the comedy angel wings ‘death’ way. Like it wouldn’t be real, it’d be a gag.

Peni - ugh I can kinda see this ngl. She was the only member of team B we saw in the society and had a speaking role. Maybe I’m jaded but doesn’t bode well for a young female character… she will most likely be fine though.

Pavitr - People have said it and I do understand it. I don’t think they’ll do it but I could see it happening in a couple of different ways. His death would have be a perfect mid-late movie catalyst simply because of the parallels between him and Miles, ‘being spiderman is easy!’, and inspector Singh and Gayatri ‘escaping’ death. Will be crying in the theatre.

The Spot - I’m 50/50 on this. Like he could totally be too far gone where the only way out is him imploding but also he just wanted attention 😢

Gwen - God I can see this happening. I really hope it doesn’t but,,, Specifically, her saving Miles or one of his parents and that somehow being it for her. Her home storyline is tied up, her only remaining loose thread is with Miles, and once that’s done her ‘arc’ is over, and also the foreshadowing. Like if it happens that’s how it’s gonna happen and it’ll parallel when Miles was saving inspector Singh and that moment where we can’t see him god,,,,,,

Miguel - I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t know what they are going to do with this man by the end of the next movie. Dude has put his whole being into his canon events theory, cause remember he genuinely believes or is in heavy denial about this. I don’t think being visually proven wrong will fix anything for him. I genuinely believe it’ll destroy him. I could definitely see him dying in the next movie by saving Miles/his dad in some desperate attempt to do the right thing, or taking down the spot with him type thing.

Jeff - Look, we all know it’s a possibility. It’s like algorithmically predestined, so it definitely could happen and I wouldn’t be surprised necessarily. But do I actually think it will happen? No. It’s too built up, especially with Miles going to 42 where his dad IS dead.

Rio - I’m gonna be so honest, she’s more likely to die than Jeff. SORRY! She’s the one that dies in the comics, she’s the one alive in 42, and she has that big speech about Miles not being with her any more and to look out for himself for her. I really hope they don’t do it, I really hope cause I will sob in the theatre but if one of Mile’s parents is going to die, it’ll be Rio.

Tidbits of ATSV That I Enjoyed (Or Alternatively: Just Miles Being The Most Endearing Spidey Ever)

Miles patting The Spot's head after successfully webbing him (I don't see this as condescending, but rather him still engaging with the humanity of a villain like Spot) and ~very assertively~ telling/asking him not to escape.

"I'm like Robin Hood-if he gave to himself."

Miles' spidey senses going off when he arrives late to his dad's party because there's nothing more frightening than Brown parents when they're mad at you. Beware the chancla or correa!

O.k. So we all know there are different versions of the movie out there. You may already know that one of the slight differences is when Miles goes to save Inspector Singh. There's a version where you can hear Gwen's voice in the distant background yelling no! when she thinks Miles gets crushed under the rubble, and there's another where she's silent as she webs to him. Now, I have found ANOTHER version (online) where her shouting is even more at the forefront. She's practically screaming and sounds more desperate, (prolly because it's close to the same way her Peter Parker died so she's reliving trauma) and the fear in her voice is palpable. That one haunts me.

Jefferson trying to equate studying for his police exams to childbirth, which Rio quickly nips in the bud.

Ganke having a soccer poster of Son Heung Min, a famous Korean footballer who currently plays for the Premier League Tottenham Hotspur and is captain of the South Korean national team.

Miles having a Sashimi (his universe's version of Supreme, but I just like the idea that Miles loves eating sashimi. Like I know that kid has good taste in food) poster in his bedroom.

The fact that Miles kept in touch with Aunt May for long enough after the events of ITSV that he helps her move.

The Spot saying he was one of the more handsome scientists at Alchemax according to his colleagues.

Miles and Gwen having the same collectible toys, the only difference being that he keeps his in the box and she doesn't.

"Hey, don't try to wow me with big words, man," *in deep manly voice* "I do crosswords every day"- Miles after Spot points out Alchemax as "the crucible of our connection!"

Miles going, "This job is so dumb sometimes" after he tries to web Spot at the deli, but it goes through a hole and lands on his face.

"Nahhh, he seems more Dominican to me." Kinda want Miles to meet a native Dominican Spidey because that dynamic would highkey fuck hard *pun not intended*. They would repair relations between our two islands-PR&DR.

The college admissions coach at Visions Academy straight up saying, "That's your story! Now, just stick to the script..." Ma'am what???

Also, Miles' and Gwen's talk at the Williamsburg Bank Building being lowkey the catalyst for the 2nd/3rd acts of the film. Without them both kind of silently admitting their feelings for each other, Miles probably wouldn't have chased after her the way he did. Pretty sure you know the rest.

"I bet she doesn't even speak Spanish," and Jeff going "Que barbaridad" in his very broken Spanish. Queue Rio's bombastic side eye.

Both Gwen and Miles referring to Spot as a Villain Of The Week, even though neither of them have spoken about Spot to each other.

The Spot inverting himself, going from a white mass with black spots to a gaping black hole with smaller white spirals. It's giving Junji Ito.

The irony of Pavitr exclaiming, "Well that was another easy adventure for Spider-Man!" right before an incoming canon event. HIS. He was about to experience his first big loss, and his happy-go-lucky nature would've been challenged.

A lot of the Peters saying hi to Gwen as she passes HQ because she is canonically the one lost love--the love interest they all would've ended up with had she not died, so they all have an affection for her.

Miles offering his fresh new takes on how to deal with the Spot upon meeting Miguel, saying "He just wants to be taken seriously. Like we all do." MILES YOU BEAUTIFUL, COMPASSIONATE GOLDEN SUNFLOWER BOY I LOVE YOUUUUU.

Hobie referring to Peter B. as Humbling Reality Spider-Man, which considering how steeped in tragedy the Spidey lore is, is really saying something.

Miguel's nonono no puedo más no puedo más. His misery is very funny and delightful to me. Little bitch ass.

Miles shouting out Peter's name for help whilst Miguel pins and lays into him the fact that he's an anomaly. This after he momentarily glitches back to his ITSV store-bought suit. Mimicking the way-in also the first movie-Miles shouting out Peter's name for his own rescue as Doc Ock attacks him at the research facility. Because even though he feels hurt by Peter at this point, that's still his dad mentor and he still instinctively looks to him for protection. Rip my heart out why don't you!

Gwen sneaking back into her and her dad's place just to get that printed polaroid of her and Miles, a pic she already has on her phone.

okay hello please if you will indulge in this little drabble about a tiny spider-person at HQ

Miles knew there were lots of spider people out there, but this was taking it to a whole new level. Especially the one that was actually the size of a spider.

He had to do a double-take at the tiny figure sitting snugly on Pavitr's shoulder. It took him a minute to realize that they, too, were wearing a little black spider suit, just like his.

"Staring is rude, Miles," Gwen chided when he saw where her friend's gaze was.

Miles shrugged. "Can you blame me? I've never seen a tiny person before." A pause. "Have you?"

"Well, yeah. Everybody know The Widow."

"The Widow?"

"Yeah. Like a black widow. But that name's already taken."

Miles shook his head in understanding as Pavitr glanced down to his tiny friend.

"Do you want to introduce yourself?" he whispered. The tiny nodded. "He's a pretty good guy."

"Haven't you only known him for like, 10 minutes?"

"I'm a great judge of character," Pavitr said with a smile.

Miles froze when Pavitr started to walk toward him. Instead of saying anything, the Mumbattan Spider-Man simply extended his arm out, palm up, and let his small friend scale themselves down.

"Hi," they breathed, offering a small wave. "I'm --"

"PETRA!"

The tiny whipped their head around. "Miguel! Heeeeey, you big brute."

"I'm not in the mood for nicknames," he grumbled, though Petra knew he wasn't actually mad. "You were supposed to be helping me in the lab."

"Funny story," Petra said sheepishly, "Pavitr was actually taking me there!" They paused and gave Pavitr a pinch when he didn't react.

"Oh! Right. Yes. That is definitely true."

Miguel rolled his eyes, but let Petra see their lie through, because god, they were just adorable. Any annoyance he felt just melted away with just five seconds of conversation with the tiny.

"Give them to me," Miguel demanded, holding his palm out.

"Miguel, come on," Petra smirked. "Ask him nicely."

Pavitr simply raised his eyebrows. Miguel sighed.

"Give them to me... please."

"There, see? That wasn't so hard."

Nobody would ever say it out loud, but watching Petra jump around and make impossibly long leaps was everybody's favorite thing -- especially Miguel's. He had found them cowering and scared in their home dimension, completely unaware of the spider powers they possessed. He had practically raised them, watched them learn and grow and become comfortable in the giant worlds they visited. They were the closest thing he'd ever have to a real daughter.

Miguel's heart fluttered when Petra landed lightly into his open palm, like it always did. Pavitr bent down and gave his friend a fist bump, grinning at the comical size difference in their hands. He unfurled his index finger and gave them a playful poke, to which Petra responded by shooting webs at him and yanking him forward. He always forgot how strong they were.

"You better brush up on your skills, Pavitr. They're stronger than you," Miguel joked with a lighthearted smile.

"He can smile?!" Miles whispered furiously to Gwen, who smirked. "He doesn't seem like the joking type."

"Miguel has... something of a soft spot for them," Gwen whispered back. "Not hard to see why."

"Yeah," Miles agreed. "They're adorable."

Petra made their way up from Miguel's open palm to his shoulder, where they promptly took a seat and grabbed onto the folds of his suit for stability. Miguel always made it a point to walk slower and straighter when he had Petra with him, no matter how many times they said he didn't need to.

Miles stiffened when Miguel walked over, but slapped a smile on anyway. Pavitr practically materialized next to him, grinning up at Petra.

"I love this," he said, nudging Miles. "They're taller than both of us now."

Petra waved dramatically. "I'll see you later, Pavitr!" Their friend gave them a small salute, and they turned their attention to Miles. "And it was nice to meet you for five seconds! I'm sure we'll talk more later."

"No, you won't," Miguel grumbled, but Petra didn't care.

"Don't listen to him!" they smiled. "He doesn't control me."

"You are on my shoulder right now," he said flatly.

"And I can just as easily get on another one," they teased. That seemed to shut Miguel up.

Miles couldn't help but laugh at the sight of a tiny, little spider person on Miguel's huge shoulders. Man, he loved it here.

- Bitten by a genetically modified spider, not radioactive. It wasnt exposed to any radiation, its cells were just altered while it was being developed in the egg sac

- Southern as hell!! [Thats a constant in all their varients, no matter where they are they are southern]

- She didnt want to be Arachne, while testing out their powers for the first time he got involved in a mugging and it all escalated from there.

- Wanted to go into alchemy and coding before he got bit

- Has the comics and stuff in their universe, but no actual Spider-Man, up until now

- Their canon event was their house burning down and them being presumed dead. The ring on their casual outfit is from her mom. Everyone is still alive and well, he just.. cant talk to them anymore, at least its.. not the same.

- Organic webbing in legs. How did she find out? He tried to see if he had organic webs, didnt, fell, tried it again, and bam, leg webs.

- Because of being upside-down a lot, they get nauseous easily while being Arachne, and usually keeps medicine to stop it

- They also cannot handle too much heat, so most of their suit is made out an easily breathable material that allows them to cool off

- Multiple earth varients!!

423-A is this one, 423-B is a stocker in a grocery store who accidentally became an anomalous spiderman due to The Spot chucking them into another universe, and 423-C, who was an alchemax intern until she got involved with The Spot and the collider her version of Doc-Ock, Octavia, built. They then sort of ended up becoming like him.

- She views Noir as a father figure, sometimes it slips out but he always covers it up

- Had intrusive thoughts before the bite, got a bit more frequent afterwards

- There is actually a lot of varients of Sparrow in earth-90214 (noir world) and their varients

- Also in earth-138 (hobie's world)

- Neither of them are spider-people though

- Actually scared of animals if they dont know them well. Doesnt matter if its a small bunny, they're terrified

- Doesn't like the momentum of swinging, but it got them to his city quickly, and they cant drive, so..

- Lived in a suburban area about 15 minutes away from their actual city

- Light sensitivity, also has horrible depth perception when hiding their extra eyes

- It took them forever to find a good mask idea

- Was invited to the Society a couple of days after his canon event, which happened a couple of weeks after being Arachne

- Was given webshooters by Peter to try and make webslinging easier

- Also goes by Cherry! (My mom called me this as a joke after i dyed my hair and the name actually kinda stuck..)

- Misses their cats dearly. They know its him, but he cant be there for them.

- Essentially just myself but if i was spider-man

- Doesnt exactly have a living space after their event, considering that theyre 15 and unable to get an apartment due to that fact

- Mostly just chills in the society in the nights because of that

- Stays up till ungodly hours just writing or thinking

- Terrifed of Miguel. Like, genuinely fucking terrifed.

- Doesnt do well with loud noises, especially yelling, at all. Would have their headphones on them at all times, but they burned.

- Gets headaches when things get too loud or stressful

- These headaches can turn into migranes, and on those days she just lays in the society all day and tries to keep themselves still so it can be bearable

SQUEEEEE!!!!! MY TWO FAVORITE HEROS MIGHT TEAM UP IN MY FAVORITE DD FIC!!! IM FEELING FERAL!!! But, seriously, I probably wouldn't love DD as much as I do now if it wasn't for all the mentor matt fics that came out after NWH that got me to watch the show so the idea that spidy/peter might show up soon has me fucking ecstatic

Wouldn't be a long DD fic without Spidey showing up! 🥰🥰🥰 I've honestly been so excited to bring him in, biding my time until the timeline matched. He was one of the first superheroes I latched onto via cartoons as a kid and then the movies started and I just - I fucking love Spiderman, I've loved all of his movies, loved the different takes on him with Tobey and Andrew and now Tom and all the Spideys in Into the Spider-Verse, too, so I knew I couldn't do TRT without having him show up - and especially since NWH and the ensuing fic was a LOT of peoples' introduction to Charlie!Daredevil, and that makes me so, SO happy cause it gives me more people to talk about Daredevil with, and it means Charlie gets more love, which I'm all for obviously. 😂

It's basically an open secret now so I may as well just confirm he's going to be our next cameo when we hit Queens, and it's not going to be the 'two people removed' cameo like Tony Stark. This will be actual Peter and he'll be popping in and out going forward, as will some other characters. Cause at this point, we're not only approaching Sokovia Accords: Population All Enhanced, but we're also reaching the tipping point at which Jane is going to be known enough for other heroes to come knocking.

(A thought process post from a couple weeks ago lol, also when I say spiderverse events I’m talking about the comics)

Rereading spider noir 2020 run and ummm wow they rlly threw the actual chronological timeline out the window Huh. Like the 2020 run is before WW2. The spiderverse events happen after ww2, cause at the beginning of spiderverse it’s referenced that MJ was part of the war effort, WHAT ARE WE DOING. Cause he dies/gets resurrected in spiderverse and the 2020 run references that. WHAT ARE WE DOING?!

Ok, did some research. I lied to you. So MJ was apart of the Lincoln Brigade or smth in Spain. Originally, I just assumed that that was a team/effort during WW2 but it’s not. They were American volunteers who were helping out during the Spanish civil war, which ended in 1939(?). So in all likelyhood MJ doesn’t get back to the states until 1939.

First things first, if MJ is the same age as Peter that puts her at about(assuming 1933 vol.1 HS age 15-18) 21-24 and AUGHHHHH. But either way that means Peter is 21-24 during the beginning of the spiderverse events and the spiderverse events end before WW2 starts in 1939 and the US enters the war in 1941. AND noir 2020 happens BEFORE WW2 aswell. That is too tight of a timeline but I digress(writers YOU’RE KILLING ME).
