hiii!
i was wondering if i could get cedric diggory x fem!ravenclaw!reader + basically just mutual pining until they smell eachother in their amortetia potions or sum?
tysm ❤️❤️
Cedric Diggory was not in love with you. He was perfect, and beautiful, and altogether far too good for average, boring old you. That's what you told yourself when he caught your eye across the classroom, or when his hand lingered on yours far longer than it needed to, or when his cheeks were dusted with a rosy pink when there was no one else around.
No, Cedric Diggory couldn't be in love with you. He couldn't be in love with you because you were in love with him.
You trudged into the potions classroom, prepared for the utter embarrassment Amortentia was going to bring you. The potion smelled of whatever you were attracted to, which in your case was cinnamon, firewood, and chocolate - Cedric. Cedric, who happened to be your partner in potions.
"I want you to describe to your partners what you smell," drawled Snape. "I don't care if it's embarrassing, I don't care if you think it's pointless, it's in the curriculum so you're going to do it."
Grumbles sounded around the classroom, fading into nervous chatter as students embarrassed themselves publicly.
"I'll go first," Cedric offered kindly. He took a deep whiff of the potion. "I smell..." He took another whiff. "It's like a mix of trees, fruit, and flowers." He smiled at you. "Your turn."
You were in shock. The scent he described was exactly the way your perfume smelled. You couldn't deny it anymore. Cedric Diggory was in love with you.
You shook off the thought and smelled the potion. "Cinnamon, firewood, and chocolate." Just as you had expected.
Cedric tilted his head with a confused smile. "That kinda sounds like the way I smell." Then it dawned on him. "Oh."
You smiled shyly. "Yeah..."
Cedric grinned. "I guess I kinda gave myself away too. I basically just smelled your perfume."
You giggled. "So..."
"Do you wanna go to Hogsmeade with me?" Cedric can't stop smiling, and neither can you.
"I would love to."

H. POTTER X F!READER
Synopsis It's hard to stay cool when the girl you have a crush on is right there beside you.
Word Count: 2.2k
Tumblr media
Harry and Ron yawned in unison as they walked through the woods, following Arthur Weasley, who was in the lead, with Charlie and Fred and George close at his heels, Ginny and Hermione in the middle, and lastly, the two boys. Now, both of them were excited for the Quidditch World Cup, don't get them wrong, but this whole waking up before the crack of dawn to Hermione throwing pillows at them was not exactly their favourite part of it all.
The morning, however, had been all but calm, Molly had heard Fred and George trying to smuggle Ton-Tongue Toffees out of the house to sell, even after they got scolded for what happened with Dudley. Harry's cousin having eaten one that Fred and George dropped with the intent of him eating it, causing Dudley's tongue to grow in size. This made Molly yell at the two twins just before they left.
The woods were calm in the early summer morning, with fog still on the ground. Birds had started to wake up, and you could hear them sing as they flew above the tree tops. Harry had to admit that the woods close to the burrow were quite cozy. But he was broken from his own thoughts as Ron poked him and pointed out how far back from the others they were. Jogging to catch up with the others.
"Arthur!" The boys then heard a man call out. "It's about time, son."
"Sorry Amos, some of us got a bit of a sleepy start." Arthur jokingly looked back at Ron, who yawned.
It then dawned on Harry when they came closer that it was Amos Diggory and Cedric Diggory who stood there. Harry had talked to Amos once before when the man was happy over Hufflepuffs' win last year. However, this meant another person should be there, so Harry started to look around for her.
"This is Amos Diggory, everyone. Works with me, at the Ministry. " Arthur said proudly and then turned to the brown-haired boy beside the man. "This strapping young lad must be Cedric, am I right?"
Cedric smiled at the man and extended his hand to shake hands with Arthur, smiling brightly. "Yes, sir." He answered before looking up at the big tree above them.
"y/n? Are you coming or what?" Cedrict asked his sister, who had gone unnoticed, where she sat up in the tree. When Harry spotted the girl, he smiled.
y/n grinned at her brother before she tossed down her backpack for him to catch and jumped down so she landed beside Amos. Making sure her stance was stable before she straightened out.
"Well, that's quite and entrance y/n." Arthur put a hand in her shoulder and she smiled.
"Thank you."
"Alright, this way." Cedric spoke up as he started motioning towards where they were going to go. So everyone started walking, and just before Cedric got too far, he tossed the backpack back to his sister.
"You carry your own shit," He told her.
"Cedric," Amos warned the boy, and he held up his hands in retreat and showed the others the way.
y/n was just about to join in and walk with Harry when her dad stopped him. He was amazed to have Harry Potter himself with them, and she could see Harry glancing over at her. She shrugged at him and joined Hermione and Ginny.
"I don't remember your brother being so good-looking, y/n." Hermione hooked her arm through y/n's.
"Ew, Mione. That's my brother. Plus he's way too old for you."
"Who says he's too old?" Ginny asked with a raised brow, and it made y/n groan.
"Are you aware that we can hear you?"Fred then turned to the girls.
"And if we can, then Cedric probably can too." Geroge chimed in.
"Yeah, well, ego boost for him then, I guess." y/n rolled her eyes and unhooked her arm from Hermione when she saw her dad walk past to catch up with Arthur. She slowed her steps and, quite quickly, was at Harry's side.
They both started to engage in conversation with one another. They talked about everything from the joke candy and things that Fred and George had been making or trying out during the summer to this mystery thing that was to happen at Hogwarts during the year. Harry joined in with all that he heard from Arthur and y/n told all that she had gathered from her dad. They're both thinking about what it could be.
But the topic soon changed to Quidditch. Of course, Harry was proudly standing with Bulgaria, but y/n were strongly against this. She was rooting for Ireland. They talked back and forth about why their team had to win. "Bulgaria has Viktor Krum. He's the best seeker of all."
"Oh please, he's all looks. Plus, Bulgaria play dirty most of the time; they're like the equivalent of when Flint was still captain of the Slytherin team. "
"No they don't!" Harry argued back, and it made Ron turn.
"You have no idea what you're talking about y/n, Viktor Krum will make sure Bulgaria wins." Ron spoke proudly, the boy being starstruck by the well-known seeker.
"Well, Ireland has Connolly," Fred piped in.
"And Quigley." Geroge also joined in.
"See!" y/n motioned towards the twins. "Fred and George are on my side; Ginny and even Hermione, who's not into Quidditch all that much, are rooting for Ireland. You and Ron are literally the only people who are hoping Bulgaria wins just because you're in love with Viktor Krum. "
A whole argument started between all the Weasley kids, Harry and y/n. All of those who were for Ireland were arguing back and forth with the two boys and counting up reasons as to why Ireland was going to win. It was all just fun, ending with all seven of them starting to laugh.
After a little while, they had been walking for a good hour already. Harry was about to say something to y/n but instead when he turned to her, he instead got fixated on her. Eyes looked over her features, having missed her over the summer. He could feel his cheeks slowly growing warmer and warmer the more he looked at her, and soon enough he had to avert his eyes from her as it felt like his face was on fire. Harry was quite sure his cheeks were red, but he hoped to Merlin they weren't.
Surely enough, they reached the portkey, although it made Harry frown as they walked closer, as he had no idea what a portkey was. "Just over there." Amos told everyone, and Harry's frown deepened at the sight of an old boot.
Harry tugged at y/n's sleeve before asking her. "Why are they all standing around that manky old boot?"
"That isn't just any manky old boot, mate," George cut in before y/n could answer.
"It's a portkey," Fred finished as he, George, and y/n moved into position.
"Time to go!" Arthur called.
"What's a portkey?" Harry was confused.
"Ready? After three. One, two," Amos started counting, but y/n quickly looked up at Harry.
"Harry!" And with that, Harry grabbed onto the boot.
"Three."
It all started to spin, or more like they all started to spin. Slowly but surely, they lifted up from the ground up into the sky, still spinning around. Everyone except Cedric, Amos, and Arthur screamed at the continued spinning. Though the twins were screaming in cheer.
When Arthur then suddenly told them all to let go of the boot, they all clinged onto it like a life line, making all except the older Diggorys go wide-eyed. Hermione immediately protested, even though she was slowly feeling sick to her stomach from the continued spinning. They all, however, did as the man had instructed them to and all dropped to the ground. Then, hitting the ground, all of them groaned and huffed at the sudden impact of the ground.
y/n looked up from where she lay on her stomach, coming to find that Harry was only about a metre away from her. "Ouch,"
Harry sat up and nodded at her, and when he turned he could see Amos, Cedric, and Arthur, all three coming down much more gracefully than any of the others. They are certain to land on their feet. All of them were grinning from how funny all the others had landed. "I bet that cleared your sinuses, ey?" Arthur asked as the three of them landed.
Cedric was quick to help Harry get on his feet, extending an arm for him to get pulled up. Earing a smile from the younger boy as he went to help his sister. "Oh, how nice of you, Ced."
"Aw, did my baby sister get hurt?" Cedric asked sarcastically. He pulled her up to stand too, and both of them laughed. The bantering between them was just a big joke to them.
"Come on!" Arthur called as he started to walk up the hill to where camp was. It made y/n smile brightly as she immediately grabbed Harry's arm and pulled him along. "You're going to love this!" It made Harry flush a crimson colour as she pulled him along with her to join the others.
Oh god did he like her.
——
The sun had begun to set over the field where the Quidditch World Cup was being held. The sky turned orange and was slowly becoming a dark blue that would make the stars and constellations of other solar systems visible. It was still pretty warm out, not overly warm but warm enough that not a lot of clothes were needed to keep warm.
People were making their way to their seats. Many had chosen to sit in the boxes in the middle of the stadium. It was a stadium bigger than Harry had ever seen. Now, he was not exactly looking to play Quidditch professionally, but to play at a stadium like this would definitely be something unforgettable.
All of them were looking around in amazement while making their way further up, Arthur in the lead. They were on their way to the top, which was a wise decision. If they were to stay by the boxes, they would have to squeeze together with other people. But if they were to be furthest up in the stadium, they would not have to fight for space with others and would have better sight than others.
"Blimey dad, how far up are we?" Ron asked as they stopped from having been climbing from the lowest level and were about thirty stories below the top.
Just as Arthur was about to answer, another man's voice cut in. One that they all knew very well and one that made Harry roll his eyes. "Well, put it this way, if it rains, you'll be the first to know." Lucius Malfoy smiled evilly at them.
y/n and Harry stood by the railing, looking down at Lucius and Draco, who were on the lower level. It was unusual to see Draco without his slytherin uniform. Instead, he was wearing a black suit, which did not seem at all practical. Draco laughed at his father's statement.
When they started to continue walking, Draco looked up at the others and smirked. "Father and I are in the minister's box, by personal invitation from Cornelius Fudge himself."
"Don't beast, Draco." Lucius stopped Draco with his cane, making the boy rub the spot where the cane had laned. "There's no need with these people."
Draco then looked up at them again. When he saw y/n however, a sly smile made its way to his lips. It was no news to most people that Draco Malfoy had taken an interest in the Hufflepuff girl. However, y/n had zero clue about that. The look Draco gave y/n made Harry roll his eyes. A feeling of annoyance was bubbling up inside him. No, not annoyance, but jealousy.
Before the two Malfoys could say anymore, Harry grabbed y/n's shoulder and started to turn her around so they could wall off. But Lucius Malfoy was not done as he slammed the snake part of his cane down on Harry's hand before it could leave the railing. It made y/n and the others turn just like Harry.
"Do enjoy yourself. While you can. " Lucius smiled unkindly at Harry before relinquishing his hand and walking off with Draco at his heels. But Dracos' eyes still stayed tranced to y/n.
"Are you all right, Harry?" Arthur asked.
"Yeah, just fine."
"Well, let's keep moving then. "We don't want anyone taking our place, do we?"Amos called from where he stood, and everyone began working their way up the stairs.
"Are you sure you're fine?" y/n turned to Harry as they waited to start climbing the stairs.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine. Nothing big. " Harry stuttered as he once more felt his cheeks heat up. But this time, it seemed like y/n noticed and it made him avert his eyes from her.
y/n smiled as she quickly gave him a peck on the cheek, taking the boy by surprise. "Good, now come on."
Harry couldn't fight the grin that broke out on his face when y/n turned and grabbed a hold of his hand to start wall up the stairs.
Oh boy.

cedric diggory x f!reader 2,733 words warnings; nothing except for fluff<3 summary; cedric diggory had an idea. that was never a good sign.
Tumblr media
 He was staring again.
Out from the corner of her eye, she could see the bluish-gray of his irises, a rosy cheek squished against the heel of his palm where it rested, the fingers of his other hand drumming against the top of his desk. She shifted in her seat, color growing in her cheeks as she tried to focus on what Professor Trelawney was saying. Alas, between Cedric’s eyes boring into the side of her skull and the tedious Divination lesson, her attempts were aimless.
Her fingers curled around the edge of her parchment, her fists tightening with the paper balled inside them, her face so hot she was certain her skin would break out in a layer of sweat any moment. He was planning something. She could feel it. The only problem was, she had no idea what could possibly be going on inside that head of his.
The realm of possibilities were endless, and she found herself tapping her own fingers against the top of her desk, her opposite hand absentmindedly scribbling notes onto her piece of parchment in an attempt to ignore him. From the corner of her eye, she could see a blur of black and yellow as Cedric moved, and she blinked up to where Professor Trelawney stood at the front of the class, her back now turned. Cedric was leaning over the aisle now, his Hufflepuff scarf dangling in front of his chest, ignoring the looks he was getting from Fred and George where they sat behind them.
She pouted. There was no way in hell the Weasley twins would let her live this down.
“Meet me in the South Wing at nine?” Cedric whispered in her ear and she narrowed her eyes, turning to eye his features. His lips were curved into a soft yet mischievous grin, a knowing glint in his eyes. Somehow, she had a strange feeling about this. “Nine o’clock?” She scoffed beneath her breath. “You are crazy, Cedric Diggory,” she shook her head. “You realize that I am not a prefect? I’ll be in trouble if I’m seen.”
Cedric tittered and leaned in even closer, his breath a whisper against the shell of her ear and creeping shivers down the coil of her spine. “You know I’ll take care of you,” he murmured, her cheeks flooding with warmth. “Don’t you trust me?”
It was then that the bells from outside began to chime, indicating that the period has ended, therefore finally, Divination was over. She practically sprung from her seat, nearly butting heads with Cedric as she pulled the strap of her bag over her shoulder, making haste towards the exit.
She began her descent down the ladder leading to the hallway outside the Divination classroom and as soon as her feet hit the ground, Cedric was calling her name. She picked up her pace, her robes flying behind her as she dashed down the corridor, making it as far as the top step of the staircase before his hand was latching around her wrist, tugging her back into him.
“Cedric,” she whined, turning to peer over her shoulder at him. He chuckled, “you’re awfully fast.” She huffed, blowing a strand of hair away from her face. “And somehow, not fast enough,” she muttered. Cedric’s grin widened and his hands rose between them, a few rolls of parchment spilling over his knuckles. “You forgot your notes.”
Her chest heaved when she sighed and snatched the parchment from his hands, stuffing them into the knapsack at her hip. “So… you’re meeting me in the South Wing at nine, yes?” He said, hopeful as he swiped his tongue between his lips, eyeing the way she gleaned down to her shoes. She exhaled again, leaning her shoulder against the wall as students passed by and Cedric, too, leaned into the wall, stuffing his hands in his trouser pockets, awaiting her answer. Unfortunately for her, she was a sucker for Cedric Diggory.
“Do I really have a choice?” She finally asked, pinching her bottom lip between her teeth as she looked back up at him, to which Cedric’s lips peeled to unveil his pearly whites, and he chuckled, shaking his head. “I’m afraid not,” he replied. “So, I take it I’ll see you then? Say… in the courtyard?”
Her shoulders droop in defeat, but when Cedric draws in closer to her body until his toes were teasing the top of hers, she knew she couldn’t stay upset for long. She gazed up at the Hufflepuff boy, and it was then that she realized just how close he was, his breath looming over her skin. Her cheeks burned and finally, she tore herself away, taking steps backwards down the staircase.
“I’ll see you tonight,” she confirmed. “But if I’m caught, I’ll never let you live it down, do you hear me, Diggory?”
Cedric rolled his eyes as he watched her venture further down the stairs, “you shouldn’t worry so much. You’re in good hands!”
Tumblr media
Sneaking to the South Wing after curfew proved to be a lot more difficult than she had initially anticipated. She wondered if Cedric chose tonight on purpose, if he somehow knew that Snape and Filch and Mrs Norris would be around almost every single corner. She huffed as she pressed herself further into the wall, hoping the shadows were doing enough to conceal her as Mrs Norris pranced by, thankfully not looking her way. She exhaled the breath she hadn’t realized she had been holding in as she turned into the– hopefully– empty corridor, looking around for Cedric.
 Where was that boy?
She stopped in front of the door leading to the Clock Tower Courtyard to turn and peer over her shoulder, narrowing her eyes as she searched the end of the corridor to make sure the course was clear. She pushed open the doors as carefully as she could to avoid making noise, hoping that Cedric would be somewhere on the other side, waiting for her. She guided the doors closed behind her, wincing as they latched closed, hoping she had been cautious enough to not attract any attention.
She turned and blinked around the dark, empty courtyard, the boy in question still nowhere in sight. Her chest heaved when she huffed, crossing her arms as frustration swelled inside of her. It wasn’t like him to be late, but it was likely he could be messing with her. Cedric always loved playing games, but it was late and the wind had a chill to it, and the idea that she could be caught by Professor Snape had her on the very edge.
She turned around on her heels and was so close to slipping back inside the castle, but before she could even get her hands on the doors, a pair of arms slithered around her waist and her feet were lifted from the ground, the hairs on her body standing erect. Her lips parted and she nearly screeched, and she would’ve if she hadn’t realized who it was holding her close, her eyebrows knitted together when she turned to face Cedric, balling up her fist to give him a not-so-kind knock against the chest.
“Merlin’s beard, Cedric, don’t sneak up on me like that!” She whined, narrowing her eyes when he laughed. “It’s not funny. You know you happened to choose the night where nearly the entire teaching staff is on the prowl?” Cedric only rolled his eyes as he pressed her back closer into his chest, swaying them back and forth as he buried his lips in her hair. “You underestimate Cedric,” he murmurs into the top of her head, “Cedric is a lot more than a pretty face, you know.”
She rolled her eyes and turned in his arms to face him and even in the dark of the night, she was still able to make out the gleam in his eyes. “I don’t know what you’re thinking,” she whispered, eyes surging into his, her lips twisting into a scowl. “But I already think I’m not going to like whatever it is.”
Cedric’s bottom lip jut out into a pout as she began to slip from her arms and he caught her hands before she could detach completely. “You’re no fun,” he groaned, squeezing her hands even tighter when she whined, trying to pull away. “But I’m going to prove you wrong.”
She pursed her lips, giving up her attempts to tug her hands away from his to once again gaze up into the slate grayness of his irises, illuminated with mischief. Despite his claims that she should feel otherwise, she had a terrible feeling about this.
“Cedric…” she trailed off as he began to tug her forward by the hand, leading her through the moonlit courtyard, dread creeping down her spine and making her insides churn. “...where are you taking me?” She asked, her glare like a dagger against the back of his head.
If he could feel her gaze, he paid it no mind.
He led her outside of the courtyard and past the walls surrounding the castle, leading her further into the black of the night. “Cedric,” she whined, shaking his arm until his stride fell to her pace, glancing to where she walked beside him. “It’s cold. You couldn’t have chosen somewhere indoors?” She asked as he led her further down the hill until he came to a stop and she turned to gaze at the moonlit water ahead of them.
And it was then that she realized where he had taken her.
“Cedric…” she murmured his name in a warning tone, eyeing him as wiggled his hand out of her grasp and knelt down to work at his shoes, tossing them off somewhere behind him. Her lips fell agape, “Cedric!” She shook her head. “You cannot be serious!”
Cedric’s lips only curved into a crescent, beaming at her as he rolled his socks off his feet and began to shoulder his robe off of him. “What’s wrong?” He tittered, cocking an eyebrow to his hairline. “Scared?”
She pressed her lips together in a firm line and crossed her arms over her chest, scoffing at the Black Lake, the moonlight rippling in its waving waters. “It’s freezing out here, Cedric,” she hissed between her teeth. “And there’s… there’s things in there.”
Cedric chuckled, “I should know. I had to swim it to rescue you for the task last month, remember?”
She scoffed again and rolled her eyes as Cedric finally stripped down to nothing but his undergarments, backpedaling towards the shore. “So? Are you coming?” He questioned, the water rolling around his ankles. She raised her eyebrows and scoffed, “you’re insane, Cedric Diggory,” she said, disbelieving the scene as it unraveled before her. She could still make out Cedric’s grin even as he waded further into the water until the lake swallowed his shoulders, leaving everything except for his head submerged. “Crazy! And there is no way that I am swimming in that freezing, creature-infested water!”
Cedric rolled his eyes and leaned his head back against the surface, somehow reveling in the icy cold lake as if it were a warm bath. She shivered, chills littering her skin with goosebumps partly due to the breeze but also from just watching him. “You needn’t worry,” Cedric said as he rose to his feet, droplets of water dripping from his arms and chest as he gave her a little salute. “Your knight in shining armor is he–!”
Her eyes widened in their sockets and her lips fell apart in a gasp as Cedric tumbled backwards as if something had grabbed ahold of him, tugging him below the surface. She stepped closer to the water, searching the surface for any sign of him, her search coming to no avail.
A string of panicked curses tumbled from her lips as she made quick work of ripping her shoes from her feet, quickly stripping her body of her clothes until she, too, was down to her underwear. Pursing her lips and puffing out her cheeks, she willed herself to wade into the water– which was just as cold as she had anticipated it to be. But Cedric still had not reappeared to the surface and she knew that if something had really grabbed him, it was only a matter of time until it was too late.
“Cedric!” She called his name, shivering as the water rose to her shoulders, ice frosting her limbs and making her muscles numb, every move she made harder than the last. “Cedric!” She called again, her feet no longer able to touch the sand below, her arms swinging as hard as they could to keep her head above the surface. Her heart began to drum against her chest– how long had it been since Cedric had been dragged down under? Was he alright? Was he still able to breathe?
She squeezed her eyelids shut, trying to muster up all the courage she had to will herself below the surface despite her fears of whatever lurked beneath, despite how cold she was. Just as she had begun to take a deep breath, something latched around her ankle and dragged her down below the water, completely submerging her. Her mouth parted to release her scream as she snapped her eyelids open, still somehow to make out Cedric’s grin even below the surface of the dark lake.
She furrowed her brows as he circled his arms around her waist, trying to sneak his lips onto hers as she kicked and flailed, bringing them both back up to the surface. She gasped as air filled her lungs, her cheeks warm with anger as she watched Cedric brush his hair back away from his face, laughing as she pushed water into his face.
“You are such an arse!” She shrieked, her body trembling as the breeze hit her wet skin. “I thought something had you! I thought… I thought you were… ugh!” She kicked her way to an area where her feet could touch the ground, crossing her arms back over her chest as she turned away from him, glaring up at the castle. Cedric chuckled as he made his way over to where she stood, slithering his arms around her waist and dropping his chin to her shoulder, giving the wet flesh of her neck a few playful kisses.
“Awe, are you mad at me?” He cooed close to her ear and she pressed her lips together tighter, yet, allowing herself to fall back into his warmth. Cedric pouted, planting more kisses along the curve of her shoulder. “Please don’t be mad at Cedric,” he said, knocking the pitch of his voice up a few octaves. “Cedric isn’t a bad boy. Cedric loves you very much.”
She rolled her eyes again but couldn’t suppress the smile creeping up on her lips, breathing out a laugh. “You’re such an idiot, Cedric Diggory,” she tittered, twisting in his arms, his interlocked hands now pressing against the small of her back. She rested the sides of her fists against the slick skin of his chest as his forehead dropped against hers, scrunching his nose at her. “But because of my brilliant plan, you got in the water,” he muttered, shrugging his shoulders as he gently swayed their bodies back and forth. “So, you know, I’m not a total idiot.”
She scoffed, but it came out as more of a laugh as he nuzzled his nose against hers, breathing in her scent, drawing her body closer to his. “This is nice,” he murmured, pressing a soft kiss beneath her eye. She shrugged, “I could do without the ‘freezing my arse off’ part.”
Cedric chuckled and the tip of his nose dragged down along her cheek until his lips were against hers, gentle as they captured them in a soft, chaste kiss, the pad of his thumb soothing over the skin at the small of her back. Her heart stuttered in her chest as they pulled away, and she blinked up at him, reveling in the reassurance that she was in her boy’s arms, and he wasn’t going to let her go.
With her still in his arms, he kicked back off the ground, leading her further into the lake. “It’s a beautiful night,” he whispered, brushing wet strands of hair away from her face and behind her ear. “Let’s enjoy it.”

My kind of woman
Tumblr media
Cedric Diggory x muggle! reader (reader is female with she/her pronouns)
warnings: pure fluff, ^this means start the song 💋
harry potter masterlist
Summary: Y/N being the girl of Cedric’s dreams
posted: September 4,2023
Tumblr media
Voted best couple for three years in a row. Y/N and Cedric. Everyone either wanted to be Cedric or Y/N. And Y/N is the girl of everyone’s dreams especially Cedric’s. ^
Oh, baby
Oh, man
You're makin' me crazy
Really drivin' me mad
Y/N looked so beautiful today. Her hair is in a beautiful up do. The way she did her uniform. Everything about her looked beautiful. Cedric saw her and his eyes lit up.
“Hi Cedric.” She said with a soft spoken voice. “Hi beautiful. You look amazing.”
“I wear the same thing every day Cedric.” She said while smiling. “Then you look amazing every day.” He leaned in for a kiss. And she returned it with a smile on her face.
That's alright with me
It's really no fuss
As long as you're next to me
Just the two of us
Cedric was going crazy. He couldn’t find you. He asked everyone and no one knew. Then he asked your friends and they said you’re in your dorm.
He never ran so fast.
_____
“Darling!” You jumped at Cedric bursting in your room. “Cedric?! What the f-!.” You hit cut off by a hug and a kiss. “I missed you and I couldn’t find you anywhere!” He exclaimed.
“I just want you next to me darling.”
You're my, my, my, my kind of woman
My, oh my, what a girl
You're my, my, my, my kind of woman
“You are my dream girl.” Cedric and Y/N were cuddling in the common room. In complete silence but comfortable silence. Well before he broke it. “Oh am I?” You said giggling. You love how Cedric is not afraid to tell you what he feels. It makes you feel all giddy inside.
“Yeah you’re my kind of woman.”
And I'm down on my hands and knees
Beggin' you please, baby
Show me your world
“But Cedric you already know what muggles are like!”
“But I don’t what your muggles are like!”
Cedric really wanted to meet your parents. Well in your house.
He met them but at Hogwarts. He wants to see what your room looks like, what your kitchen and living room looks like. Just the whole layout, he wants to know where and how you live.
“Are you embarrassed? Cause if you are we don’t have to darling.” He had a concerned look on his face. The last thing he wanted to do was make you uncomfortable. “No Cedric! It’s just you know I am insecure about being a muggle.”
“You have nothing to be insecure about. Just show me your world darling.”
Oh, brother
Sweetheart
I'm feelin' so tired
Really fallin' apart
And it just don't make sense to me
Cedric was at odds. He didn’t know why you liked him so much. Do you like him for his looks? Or his personality? He just doesn’t know what is so special about him.
I really don't know
Why you stick right next to me
Wherever I go
“Why do you like me?” You were sitting in the courtyard with your friends. You quickly get up and pulled him away from everyone. “What?!” You were so flabbergasted. Where is this random burst of emotion coming from?
“I just don’t know why you stick with me.”
“You wanna know why I love you Cedric?” He nodded eagerly.
“Well do you want specifics?”
“Just internal stuff like nothing on my looks.” You just nodded and told him everything you loved about him. And when you were done he just smiled.
I love you Y/N.”
I love you more Cedric.”
“I love you most.”
You're my, my, my, my kind of woman
My, oh my, what a girl
You're my, my, my, my kind of woman
And I'm down on my hands and knees
Beggin' you please, baby
Cedric loves you so much. He would do absolutely anything for you. Die for you, kill for you, even lie for you.
You’re his kind of woman.
Show me your world

Can you do a Cedric fic where the reader has a panick attack at a party, cedric notices and takes care of her (a lot of fluff)? And maybe some NSFW parts where cedic tries to calm you/take your mind off things with oral (f receiveing) and fingering.
yess i love this idea <3

pairing. cedric diggory x fem!reader.
warnings. smut (17+), insecurities, panic attacks, oral sex (f), fingering, bestfriends to lovers.
summary. cedric and y/n have been friends for so long, will it become more after he comforts her?
word count. 1.0k
Tumblr media
another weekend, another hufflepuff quidditch win, and another common room party.
cedric, your bestfriend, always invited you to these things. wether he was by your side or off with friends he always ensure you showed up. tonight you figured it’d be the same as always, but apparently that wasn’t what happened.
it was crowded, dark, and loud. seeing cedric with his friends having fun was a great sight, until you needed him by your side. tonight the common room was crowded as usual, but with multiple people pushing and shoving around the crowd.
you happened to be in the middle of it, the loud music, the shoving, everything began feeling overwhelming. gasping onto every breath, you felt a familiar pattern. one that you needed a bit of comfort by your side for, specifically cedric.
he knows you better than anyone, and how to ease your panic, but this time he wasn’t close by, in the crowd, or in sight.
you felt yourself drop against the wall, your mind raced at all the sounds and noises going around the room, your vision blurring.
thought you’d been trying to recover your loss of breath, you noticed a tall shadow approaching you, one reaching it’s hand out.
your breaths began coming quick and shallow, while tears form in the line of your eyes.
“y/n?” cedric called out, gently reaching for your hand. he began softly brushing your hair out your face with one hand, the other gently running his thumb against your skin.
he didn’t need to hear a word from your to understand what happened, he knew you better than anyone. he softly whispered for you to breathe, gently calming you.
he began guiding you to his room, assuring you he’s there by your side. he continued holding your hand, placing gentle kisses across it.
your panic began washing over, him being by your side helped with everything, wether words were needed or not.
“ced- i’m just really sorry, it shouldn’t have happened and i’m just panicked over nothing and you’re probably really pissed at me but i just love you so much and i-“
“y/n, just breathe i understand it all, and you know i love you more than anything”. he nuzzled into your neck, intertwining his hand with yours assuring you he understood.
the tension was clear, and so was what you both said to each other.
cedric looked up to you, giving you a sweet shy smile with red flushed cheeks. before you knew it your lips began colliding with each other’s, each kiss was loving and gentle. cedric began cupping your face as he tumbled over you, now on top, he began grinding with his clothed cock against your thigh.
he lays you down gently, placing wet kisses along your neck, then down along your thigh leaving marks only he’ll see. his hand slowly ran down your soaked panties, rubbing soft circles along your clit.
your hand reached across for his clothed cock, which now was forming a tent inside his boxers. soft whines escaped his lips as you slowly teased your hand against it. ge began teasing you, leaving a soft curling finger inside you, slowly making you let out a constant squeal with your eyes rolling back in pleasure.
his fingers continue curling in and out of you, he couldn’t help but glare at the beautiful sight of your head rolled back, along with your eyes rolling back with pleasure all because of him.
you continued pumping his cock, teasing your finger across the roughened tip. he slowly let your hand off his cock, now going down your thighs, pulling your panties off as he pressed soft kisses against your pussy.
his tongue pressed against your core, slowly sucking it in trailing across your clit.
“o-oh fuck” you whined, the knot in your stomach building as your legs started to tingle, cedric had made your high come closer with his mouth every second, practically inhaling you in.
your cried out in pleasure every second, softly whimpering. “shhh, darling, gotta be quiet f’me okay?” cedric whispered. you nodded weakly, almost overwhelmed by the pleasure, cupping a hand over your mouth.
wet slippery sounds filled the cramped dorm, cedric’s free hand began fondling your breasts, playing with your soft bare nipple slightly tugging at it, bringing you closer to your orgasm.
your eyes fixated on his cock which was rising even more at this sight, slowly grinding against the bed as he buried his tongue inside you. you recognized a familiar feeling in the pit of your stomach, a tight knot that was so tensing near an orgasm.
“ced- ‘m gonna cum,” you nearly whined, feelings dizzy from the overwhelming pleasure.
he pulled away from your warm pussy for the slightest second, “cum for me baby, come on,” he encouraged, continuing to nibble that one sweet spot inside you, sending you right over the edge.
with that your body slightly spasmed out, focusing on nothing but the mind-numbing pleasure. you attempted to muffle your wanton moans that spilled from your lips, biting on your lip.
your eyes shut tight, the only you were able to focus on was cedric’s gentle voice, guiding you down from your orgasm.
you met with cedric’s soft, kind eyes- they were full of satisfaction and a sly look. sitting yourself back on his bed, one hand came across your waist, the other across your face, softly running his thumb across it.
you looked at him with shining eyes and cheeks deeply flushed from your recent orgasm, paired with the possibility that you and cedric would be together. you both knew it could possibly happen, but no idea how or when. now had been the time, when you both took in a special moment between the two of you.
he begins coming down from the great surprise too, looking to see your eyes gaping and with a shining gaze. although he never knew it either - it was one of the best things to ever happen to him.

“My love is only for you.”
summary: Everyone loved Cedric Diggory, and the girls of Hogwarts can't seem to remember that he has a girlfriend.
pairings: Cedric Diggory x Ravenclaw!reader
word count: _
warnings/notes: a tiny bit of angst here and there. some lovely person wanted me to write about cedric so here I am 🖤 I will also be making a new post about someone who you might’ve seen all over your tiktok page. enjoy!
Tumblr media
“The green-eyed monster can rear its ugly head in the most unexpected of places. In love, it can be a warning sign of Jealousy.”
"They're at it again," sighed your friend Hannah Abbott. You were both walking to your next class, discussing the fact that the Yule Ball was just tomorrow, when you both caught sight of yet another girl trying to flirt with your boyfriend, Cedric Diggory.
It was clear that Cedric was not interested in the brown-haired girl who was twirling her hair, fluttering her eyes, and pouting her lips.
You sighed at the scene and exclaimed, "How many times do I need to tell them that he's got a girlfriend? Why can't they put that in their stupid brain!"
Cedric immediately caught your voice and saw you. He gently smiled and pushed past the girl, who huffed as she saw who he was walking towards.
"Hi," Cedric said with a charming smile.
"Hello," you said coldly. You didn't know why you were mad at him, you just were.
Cedric knew when you were mad. He recognized that cold voice of yours and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Listen, I keep on telling them that I'm taken, but I don't think they want to accept tha-" He started but before he could finish his sentence, you were off.
Tumblr media
It was finally the time.
You walked down the stairs when you were done and saw Hannah, who also looked absolutely stunning.
"Oh! I didn't know what to wear!" Hannah said, not noticing you yet. "There was this black long gown, but I didn't want to wear that. Oh! Did you see Hermione Granger? When I tell you, she looked absolutely--" Hannah stopped blabbering immediately when she saw you.
You were dressed in a large gown with the colors f/cs, and you looked absolutely amazing. The gown reached the floor and had the details of beading and a lace.
Your friend was absolutely flabbergasted.
"Oh, you're gorgeous!" she had finally said.
You gently smiled as you thanked and hugged your friend.
When you released your friend, you saw him.
It was as if he was looking for someone. He was towering over a lot, so it wasn't a trouble when his eyes had met yours.
He gapped at the beauty that he held his eyes with.
He quickly pushed people to get to you, and when he saw you, he immediately kissed your hand.
"You're beautiful," Cedric had said breathily.
Despite the presence of a large crowd and the loud noise, there was an unusual sense of stillness and silence.
Cedric then reminded himself why he was desperately looking for you. "Listen - can we talk?"
You nodded your head as he then gently held your hand away from the loud crowd.
In a deserted corridor, he started to talk.
"I don't know why they keep on talking to me as if I'm not taken. I truly don't know why, believe me. But all I need to say, and what you need to remember is that I'm yours, y/n. My love is only for you."
This had truly given you an opening, and you kissed his cheek softly.
"And I'm yours too. I'm sorry I reacted that way." You Shamelessly said.
"It's fine, really. I understand why."
You both shared a moment where you locked eyes, and in that moment, nothing else seemed to matter.
“can we just.. go back to the ball?”
Cedric then leaned in and planted a soft kiss on your cheek, sending a warm sensation throughout your body. The feeling of his lips on your skin lingered, making your heart race and your cheeks flush.
"Lead the way, my love."

Some notes:
The story is based on the 6th movie of Harry Potter. The plot will be nearly the same, although this fanfiction adds the plot of the reader - which intertwines with the original one.
Draco's relationship with Y/N is important, but it is not everything. This fanfiction will revolve around the main plot of Y/N's commended mission, her desperate need of finding her mother among others. If you're only looking for Draco and Y/N content during the entire reading, you will not find it here. Everything for the plot, am I right?
I won't set any age requirements because I know you guys don't really listen to that. But I find myself in the position to warn you that you're likely to find things such as: sexual explicit content, swearing, struggles with mental health, and maybe some twisted sad moments. If you enjoy the intensity, you might really enjoy this.
If you want to contact me about the fanfiction (talk about it, ask for more updates aha, suggest something) you can do it through the comment section or my inbox. I'll gladly reply, I love replying!
Also, please do not copy, translate it, claim it as your own. It is not fun, nor acceptable. If you want to translate, get in contact with me beforehand!
The rights to the Wizarding World, the plot of the book, and most characters go to J.K. Rowling, of course.
(I will add more things if they come up - so, don't hesitate to come back to this page throughout the reading)
Thank you so much for reading. This fic is for you <3

The bad girl gets what she deserves
(Part 2)
Read part 1 here
(Link to masterlist)
I’m (probably) so sorry for making a part 2!🥺
Pairing: Cedric Diggory x reader
NSFW 18+ Only! Graphic smut ahead!
Summary: After you congratulate Cedric on winning the Quidditch game, you both sneak into the library alone for a “study session” which leads to questions about if you’re ready for something more
A/N: I know the summary sucks I didn’t know how else to word it without giving the whole plot away.
Word count: 3.5k
Warnings/tags: SUPER cheesy dialogue, graphic smut, fluff, oral sex (f receiving), pet names, semi-public oral sex, rule-breaking, Cedric and reader are of age, teasing, sneaking around, making out, might contain typos
Tumblr media
After what happened in the Prefects’ bathroom, you were too hyped for many reasons to be able to go to sleep. The biggest one was that you couldn’t get over the fact that you literally hooked up with Cedric Diggory, the Captain and the Seeker for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, who also happened to be one of the most popular students in the entire school and someone who would be playing against your house’s Quidditch team in the next match.
You both had gotten dressed quickly and brushed your teeth and hair after getting out of the water. You were too nervous to make conversation with him, and you assumed he was too. Carrying the pile of dirty clothes in your hands, you bid each other goodbye before making your way into the Slytherin common room.
Your friends were waiting to bombard you with questions in your shared dorm.
“Where have you been?”
“You disappeared after dinner!”
“How long were you showering for?”
“What were you doing at the Hufflepuff table at dinner?”
You ignored their questions as you dumped your dirty clothes next to your bed.
“I’m just tired.” You lied. “I just want to go to sleep.”
“Don’t forget it’s Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin tomorrow. Make sure you have enough energy to watch the game!” One of them exclaimed.
Oh, I’ll have more than enough energy. Especially for Cedric. You thought to yourself as you pulled the blanket over your face and smiled.
He was all you ever thought about in your sexual fantasies ever since your mind became capable of conjuring such images. Even more than that, you admired his personality, he was like a breath of fresh air compared to the boys in your house who thought they had a chance with you. A hard-working, humble, and honest person like him was definitely something that you’ve been lacking in your life lately.
You mentally congratulated yourself for finally working up the nerve to make those fantasies come true.
“Yeah, save your voice. You’ll be screaming for our team.” You heard your other friend’s voice through your blanket.
Not like how I was screaming for Cedric earlier. You weren’t going to share that thought with your friends.
Being the opposite sex, you didn’t know how to read Cedric like you did with your friends, so it made sense to you that he didn’t seem to be as open with his feelings as you were. He was a boy, and boys are taught to keep their emotions bottled up which you hated. While it was flattering that he kept commenting about how beautiful you were during your encounter, there was something else you wanted to ask about him that itched at the back of your mind.
As the Hufflepuff players zoomed across the Quidditch field, your eyes searched for a certain set of yellow robes. You didn’t bother cheering with your housemates as Lee Jordan announced the Slytherin team’s entrance.
The game had already commenced when the two Seekers whipped past the other players in search for the Golden Snitch. There were as many people cheering for Malfoy as there were for Cedric. The only difference was which side of the pitch you were on.
Despite the majority of Lee’s commentary focusing on the action between the Chasers and the Keepers, your eyes were drawn to the flurry of yellow and green that constantly flew up, down, and between them. Watching something so fast was like a thrilling little game in your mind for testing your focus.
You couldn’t take your eyes off the two Seekers. Everything else you saw and heard around you became like white noise to you.
A few goals from both teams later, Lee’s commentary returned to the two Seekers when a Bludger came for them thanks to the four Beaters, causing one of them to lose the near-grip they had on the Snitch.
You and the rest of the spectators had to crane your necks to get a view of what Cedric and Malfoy were doing.
What happened was that Crabbe or Goyle, you didn’t care to tell them apart from far away, was aiming the Bludger at Cedric, but hit Malfoy instead, nearly knocking him off his broom. This gave Cedric an opportunity to grab the Snitch. Just like that, he had won the match for Hufflepuff, earning a chorus of loud groans from the people next to you.
While you were looking forward to congratulating Cedric, you were dreading the complaining and bickering you would be hearing from your housemates for the rest of the day.
“You’re too stupid to play on the team, my father will hear about this!” You could already hear Malfoy’s annoying voice yelling inside your head.
It wasn’t hard to find Cedric at the after-match party in the Great Hall. He was surrounded by his teammates and his friends. All the players had gone to get changed into more comfortable clothes while everyone else was still in their uniforms. Your hair bounced behind you as you weaved through the crowd. You rolled your eyes at the bickering coming from the Slytherin team.
“That was a stupid move Goyle, you should’ve let Malfoy handle himself against Diggory then maybe he would’ve had enough time to catch the Snitch!” Came from Adrian Pucey.
“What was I supposed to do?!” Goyle argued back. “I was making myself useful by doing something!”
“Well, now you’re even more useless!” Pucey scoffed.
“Shut up, you lot! Do you want a teacher to hear us?” Terence Higgs shushed them with a finger to his mouth and loudly whispered, “I don’t want Madam Hooch to hear us fighting and suspend us from Quidditch!”
He had a point even if you didn’t care about their stupid infighting. If they did happen to get suspended from Quidditch, you would still have Cedric’s matches to look forward to.
Speaking of whom, you saw a perfect opportunity to get closer to him as his teammates went in and out of conversations with the rest of their house.
With his back to you, you got on your tiptoes and used your fingers to cover his eyes.
“Surprise.” You whispered into his ear, making him turn around and you let go of him.
“Oh, I didn’t see you there.” You thought the memories of last night must have been coming back to him as a blush crept up his cheeks.
“Of course you didn’t. Your back was turned to me.” You quipped, smiling at him. “That was quite a fight you put with Malfoy in the game.”
“I wouldn’t say I fought him, but I know what you mean.”
“I’ve got an idea.” You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth and slid your palm up his chest. “How about we sneak away from here, just the two of us, and catch up on some studying at the library?” You eyed him from his lips to his eyes, hoping he’d catch on.
“S-Studying? Right now?” Oh, so that’s how he wanted to play.
“Come on, Cedric. You know I loved our study session last night. Even though it wasn’t at the library.” You smirked. You adored the flustered look he’d get on his face when you’d act flirty with him whether it’d be in your conversations or you just eye-fucking him from across the room.
“I guess I could use some studying. Where’s Madam Pince?”
“Don’t worry she’s over there talking with Snape.” You pointed across the room.
The whole school was too focused on their conversations with each other to notice you and Cedric sneaking out of the Great Hall. In the event that someone inquired about your absence later, you would tell them you were in the library studying. Only one of those things was true.
Thankfully, no one was lingering outside in the corridors where you and Cedric decided to join hands.
“We better do a quick check around the library to see if anyone else is hiding.” Cedric said once you both stepped into the room.
You nodded before you decided on which sections you would each cover.
Since you couldn’t go into the restricted section to check it for yourselves, you agreed to move somewhere as far away from it as possible without being close to the library entrance.
You were seated with your legs crossed on one of the tables in the upstairs area while Cedric sat on the chair next to you.
He reached his hand out and twirled a strand of your hair around his fingers. He looked at your face as if to say something, but stopped himself.
You didn’t want to push him further, so you filled in the awkward silence. “I forgot to say to you, congratulations.”
“Thank you. Never actually thought someone from another house would congratulate me, let alone a Slytherin.”
His eyes were transfixed to yours as he grabbed you by the waist and pulled you off the table and onto his lap, so that your legs were dangling from his side and your left arm was wrapped around his neck. You couldn’t stop being mesmerized by his eyes which you frequently thought about while pleasuring yourself.
“You are so beautiful.” You’d never get tired of hearing him say that.
You brought your free hand up his hair where you lightly ran your fingernails over his scalp. You felt the heat growing between your thighs at the sight of him closing his eyes at the pleasurable sensation. You could have sworn you heard him muttering something about how good it felt.
You couldn’t resist squirming and squeezing your thighs together at the sound of him begging. Not long after, you felt something poke at your ass, and you knew exactly the effect your movements had on Cedric.
You continued to massage his scalp as you leaned forward and planted a trail of kisses from his neck to his lips.
You saw his big hand wrap around your thigh, his thumb rubbing circles on the inside. The ache between your legs was bordering on unbearable as he squeezed the handful of flesh that was covered by your black tights.
“What have you done to me?” Cedric grunted out hoarsely.
“Didn’t I just give you the most mind-blowing sex last night? And plus it’s what you do to me too. I know that you made me cum harder than I’ve ever made myself. You’re all I ever think about when I touch myself. I can’t ever cum without imagining what it’d be like if it were you instead of my fingers making me feel so good.”
You smirked at seeing Cedric’s reaction when you bluntly admitted to him about your sinful activities. You thought you could never get over how cute he looked with his red cheeks accompanied by his deep breathing and his eyes that nervously darted to anywhere but your own.
“Maybe I should give you a little taste too.” You lifted your skirt higher but not high enough to show your crotch. You caught a feral look in his eyes as his eyes widened. He lifted you up and slammed your ass down on the table but not hard enough to hurt you.
You leaned your head back as you wrapped your legs around him and rubbed yourself against his body, desperate to create friction where it ached the most.
“Fucking hell. Please, Cedric. I want you to eat me out.” You were expecting yourself to sound like a depraved whore.
“Of course, Love.” You could’ve melted at whatever pet name he gave you even if he actually did call you a dirty whore. He gave you a quick peck on the lips. But you wanted more than that, so you pulled him in by his T-shirt, holding him in place along with your thighs wrapped around him, as you let your lips connect deeper and deeper with each other’s. In your state of drunken lust, you couldn’t think of anything else except for your desire to keep tasting his lips. As if acting on instinct, you both started to thrust your hips against each other’s, too entranced by the sounds of the deep breaths being exchanged.
You were so into your make out session that you almost didn’t hear voices entering from below the mezzanine. Apparently, you and Cedric heard them at exactly the same time because you pulled away at once, widening your eyes at each other, as if both of your lips electrocuted each other’s. Cedric gave you room to get down from the desk and you both made sure to not have yourselves be seen.
“Fuck! It’s Pince and Snape!” You whispered, both of your heads peeking out from behind a bookcase.
“I’m sure I can help you find exactly what you’re looking for before your classes tomorrow, Severus.” You heard Madam Pince say.
“Very well, Irma.” Snape said. “You of all people know how imperative it is to have these books for my seventh year students. Which is precisely why I came to you, seeing as how you’re the only one I can trust to help me find the appropriate materials.”
You and Cedric both let out an exhale as you saw the two staff members walking towards one of the bookshelves. You were relieved that the potions section was nowhere near where you were.
“You mentioned Pince hasn’t ever caught you touching yourself in her library, right?” Cedric lowered his voice to the same volume as yours was at.
You nodded.
“I’ve got an idea.” You thought you saw a playful smile on his face as he put a hand on the small of your back and guided you back to the same desk in the corner you were previously at.
You knew what he wanted. He was going to see how quiet you could be without getting caught.
“Do you think you could be a good girl and not get caught?” You were right, after all.
He trailed his hands under your skirt until they caught on the waistband of your underwear and tights.
“I’ve never been caught and I never will be.” You whispered determinedly as you got on your tiptoes and gave his lips a kiss.
“This should be no different. Except I’m here.”
“And they’re here.” You gestured to where you last heard the two other voices. “Isn’t it exciting? Doing something so naughty with the threat of getting caught?”
You grabbed a hold of your shoes and threw them aside before Cedric hooked his fingers under the waistband of your undergarments and slid them down your legs.
“I’ve never done something sneaky like this before.” Cedric chuckled quietly.
Your heart was pounding so hard in your chest that you were afraid it would jump out to where Snape and Pince were downstairs.
As soon as you planted your ass and your hands on the desk, Cedric could see how wet your pussy was when he knelt down.
Without losing eye contact, he took one of your ankles in one hand and planted his lips over and over on every inch of exposed skin on that limb until his head disappeared under your skirt. That’s when you clamped your hand over your mouth to stifle a whimper that threatened to rip through you as you felt his tongue trace the slightest bit along your pussy lips. Not even your wildest sexual fantasies could’ve prepared you for how weak he was making you feel, and he had barely even tasted you.
The second time his tongue was on you, he pushed it between your inner lips and even into your opening before pulling it up and swirling it around your clit. A wave of pleasure ran through your body which made you throw your head back. If you were alone in the library, you would’ve screamed at him, demanding that he’d never stop.
Cedric gathered the fabric of your skirt in his hand, revealing his eyes to you, which he kept on you this whole time. You knew he wanted to watch as you fell apart under his control just as it had been last night.
As if what he was doing to your clit wasn’t enough, he took the little bundle between his lips and sucked on it. Your breath continued to come out in shallow bursts as he held your gaze, making you squirm against his mouth. You were gripping the edge of the table so hard that your knuckles were turning white.
You tried anything you could do to muffle the screams that threatened to escape your body whether it’d be biting your thumb, biting your lip, or holding your breath.
It was obvious he knew how much you loved having your clit touched. It wasn’t long before you were rocking your hips against his mouth, so desperate for your orgasm which was approaching at an alarming rate.
Placing a foot on his shoulder, you maneuvered yourself so that you could open your legs further, giving him better access, enabling him to reach places he hadn’t before.
With each flick of his tongue that spanned from your entrance to your swollen clit, you felt that familiar tightening sensation in your body expand until you couldn’t hold onto it anymore. Your orgasm crashed down on your body, tipping you over the edge, making you shake under his control. You couldn’t help it as your thighs were shaking and squeezing his head on both sides. You knew it wasn’t enough to hurt him, though. Despite using all of the strength from both of your hands to cover your mouth, there was a soft muffle that escaped from you and you hoped that you and Cedric were the only ones that heard it.
Your head fell forward as you finally came down from your orgasm. You took deep breaths to calm yourself down, as Cedric got up from his position on the floor. He reached his fingers towards you, and you felt another shudder going through you as he tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, his fingertips brushing against your cheek before kissing you on the other side.
The look he gave you was something you’d only dreamed about as a little girl, having someone so handsome look at you as if you were the most beautiful treasure he’d ever laid eyes on. You knew you wanted more intimate moments like this with him beyond just sex, but you weren’t completely sure if he wanted the same.
“Irma, I assure you I am capable of carrying these books on my own. I don’t require your help.” Your thoughts were interrupted as you heard those two pairs of footsteps echo throughout the nearly empty space, along with their voices.
“Your classroom is in the dungeons. I won’t have you risk carrying such a heavy load long distance. There’s too many things that could happen. What if a student trips you? Or you could fall down the stairs. Then the books would be ruined.” Madam Pince sounded like she was on the verge of panicking with the way she was talking about her precious books, and you suppressed a giggle at the mental image of Snape clumsily tripping and falling on his face.
“Very well, then. We will bring these books to my classroom. Then you and I can resume keeping those dunderheads from acting up in the Great Hall.” Snape huffed.
“Boys will be boys.” You could picture Madam Pince rolling her eyes behind her stack of books she was carrying.
You and Cedric let out a breath of relief as the two pairs of footsteps faded out of earshot.
“I thought they’d never leave.” You sighed.
“I’ve been wondering…” Cedric spoke up after a moment of silence. He scratched the back of his neck as his eyes darted from yours to some random bookshelf. You didn’t understand what was stopping him from speaking his mind. You knew you were just as intimidating as he was shy which was only in certain situations. Why was he acting shy all the sudden after you slept with each other?
“I think you’re really beautiful.” You could tell there was more that he wanted to say.
“And I think you’re really handsome.” You threw back playfully, attempting to ease him. You planted your bare feet on the ground and pecked his lips. The conversation was paused as you took the time to get decent, hooking your legs through your panties before doing the same with your tights.
“I mean, it’s okay if all you want to do with me is to sleep together. I’m sure you have plenty of boys telling you how gorgeous you are. I know you can get any guy you want, and I’m not really sure why you chose me.” He was right, you could get any guy you wanted and that guy happened to be Cedric.
“What?” You couldn’t believe that’s all he thought he was good for. “No, Cedric. I really do fancy you. And I want us to do so much more together than just have sex… And I want to go out with you.” You awkwardly pushed that last sentence out as you avoided his eyes and fidgeted with your fingers.
It was as if Cedric was taking your breath away as he put his finger under your chin and tilted it up, making you look into his eyes.
“I want to go out with you too, Darling.” He whispered and instantly brought your lips together.

Cedric taking care of you when you’re sick <3
slu7formen’s masterlist | cedric diggory masterlist
Sometimes Cedric hated how stubborn you were. Like, really, he truly felt that you behaved like a child that tried to get everything their own way and everything else was just wrong.
He noticed. It was not fucking hard to notice that you were about to catch the worst flu of your life; you looked so sick you could easily be mistaken for someone who was dragon pox. Your sore throat, the pain in your chest, the phlegm in your chest when you coughed, and the sneezing. And still, you were bold enough to lie to his face.
“I’m fine” you affirmed, followed by a small sneeze. Cedric raised his eyebrows at you, you rolled your eyes. “Seriously, it’s nothing”
“It’s nothing?” Cedric raised his voice, looking at you in disbelief. “Honey, you can’t even talk without choking in your own phlegm”
“Don’t overreact” you bit back. “I said I’m fine”
He didn’t want to fight. Whenever you did, it was because most of the time, you behaved like the most stubborn person ever… but he just relaxed. Maybe you could get better, maybe you were right this time.
Of course you weren’t right. Do you really believe that you’re ever gonna prove Cedric wrong?
The next morning your body was hurting, swollen and sore everywhere and constantly groaning as you sat down in chairs during classes. Cedric noticed every single time.
“Can you please let me take you to the Emergency Wing?” he had whispered to you once Snape had walked past you two.
“No” you argued.
“You’re not even writing there” he pointed to your hand, where the ink had dropped a few drops since you just lifted your wrist in the air, without writing anything.
“Cedric” you called. You rarely called him by his name, it was always ‘Ced’ to him, unless you were mad. “I’m fine. Stop it”
He let it pass just one more day, but when you didn’t even show up to your first class the next morning, he truly started to get mad.
You woke up with him sitting at the edge of your bed. You gasped as you sat on the bed, desperate and confused. “What time is it?” you asked, already trying to get out of bed.
“Don’t worry, you’ve missed classes already” he interrupted. You sat on the bed, angry.
“I what!?” you yelled, as painful as it was for you to do so.
“You’re staying in bed” he demanded, big arms crossed over his chest as he stood up, standing in front of your weak body like a giant statue, demanding you to stay where you are.
But of course, you had to complain.
“How many times do I have to tell you?” you stood up and pushed his shoulder, walking past him. “I’m f-…” before you could reach the door, an invisible force bounced you back into your place. You scoffed in disbelief, and Cedric grinned, satisfied. You tried to walk again, but the same bouncy feeling hit your body, much harder this time.
“Imperturbable Charm” he explained. “You’re not getting out of this room”
“Imperturbable-, where’s my wand?” you walked towards him, almost hitting your chest to his, even though the scene was not threatening at all. To Cedric’s eyes, it looked quite funny. You, all red nose and sore throat, smaller than him, trying to act angry at him. Yeah, as if he would let you win this time.
“I’m not giving you your wand. You’re staying inside this room, so do as I say, and go to bed”
You scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest. “No”
“Oh?” he dared, raising both eyebrows and lowering his head. He studied your facial expressions for a moment before speaking again. “Baby, that wasn’t a question. Let me take care of you, and go to bed”
You bit the inside of your cheek. His grey eyes were working their way inside your brain; you fucking hated it and loved it at the same time. You groaned when you slowly saw his satisfied smirk grow on his face, he knew he already won.
Once you got yourself covered in bed again, he walked to the nightstand next to your bed. On top of it, there was a small ceramic bowl with a brown liquid inside, it smelled good. He grabbed it carefully and handed it to you. “It’s chicken and pumpkin soup” he explained. He slowly placed it over your lap, instantly feeling the heat grow over your thighs, it was still hot.
He then squat down and took his leather bag, the one you gifted him just a few months ago. He opened it, and took one small glass bottle, placing it at your small nightstand bed. “And this,” he pointed to the horrible red liquid “is Pepperup Potion. You have to drink it. Madame Pomfrey said it’s just a common cold that you have, but since you’ve been like this for days, if you’re not better by tomorrow morning, you’ll have to stay at the Emergency Wing”
You gulped, looked down at the hot soup, and then back at him. “Okay” you said in a small voice. Cedric sighed heavily before taking a spoon and sitting in front of you at the bed, next to your thighs. You tried to take it, but he quickly backed it up. He served some soup on the spoon, making sure that a small piece of chicken stayed there, he knew how much you loved to have in the first bite… or drink.
“Open” he demanded. You did so, and the warm and salty taste of the soup felt good against your tongue, already satisfied with your food for the first time in three days. You didn’t say anything, just letting your boyfriend put food into your mouth as he placed his free hand over your thigh, squeezing and soothing up and down.
“Thank you” you said after taking one particular big spoon of soup. “And, I’m sorry for being stubborn… and for not letting you take care of me”
He snorted. “It’s okay, angel” he replied. He knew how much you loved it when he called you that. “I know how hard that skull of yours can be sometimes”
You rolled your eyes. “Shut up” you laughed. He forced you into taking more of your food before it gets cold. “You shouldn’t be doing this. I can take care of myself”
“No one takes cares of you better than I do” he took the bowl out of your legs and placed it over the table.
“It’s not like I have a choice. You locked me up here”
He moved closer to you. “And don’t you like it?” he asked. “You and me, locked inside your dorm-…”
“Ced!” you gasped in disbelief before he bursted out laughing. “You’re supposed to be taking care of me, remember?”
“Excuse me, am I not doing it?”
You placed a hand at the back of his neck, slightly running your fingers through his scalp. “No. I would say you’re more of a distraction”
His face got closer to yours. “Am I?” he leaned in, but you backed up, surprise.
“Aren’t you afraid you’ll get sick too?”
“I really don’t care” he said before softly placing your lips over yours. Kissing Cedric always felt like kissing the smoothest and plushiest cloud. His lips were warm, and the way he captured your lips between yours was always the hardest thing to separate from whenever you broke the kiss. If you could, you’d kiss him forever.
He leaned back and placed his forehead on yours. “Want me to give you a massage?” he asked.
“Yes, please” you groaned. He laughed.
“Okay, okay” he stood up “But before that… your medicine” he took the glass bottle and shook it in his hand.
“Nooo” you whined, hiding under the covers.
“You have to drink it, honey” he tried to uncover you, which was already hard enough since your hands gripped onto the sheets with amazing strength.
“No!”
“You won’t get better unless you drink it”
“I already feel better” you lied.
Cedric found your head hidden under the blanket and gave it a light smack. “Liar” he panted.
After fighting for some time, Cedric promised you a chocolate frog after the medicine. He stayed with you for the rest of the day, only going to his own room when your roommates came back to your dorm to sleep, not leaving without kissing you first, and getting rid of the charm he had put around your bed.
It still felt weird when Cedric took care of you like this. You knew he was someone that cared for the people he loved, but you never thought it would go as far as staying with you in bed for a whole day, missing classes and risking himself on getting sick too.
But the truth was, Cedric loved you more than anything in this world. Taking care of you was the least thing he could do after you agreed in giving your heart and soul to him.
Is it a bad time for me to ask you to go check on my new ethan landry one shot ? 🥹

Broken Promises
part two, fluff that ends in angst, readers house isn't specified, established relationship
cedric diggory x f!reader
Tumblr media
"Cedric, promise me you'll be safe tomorrow, please." You had said the night before the challenge. It was the final task of the Tri-Wizard Tournament and to say you were worried for your boyfriend was an understatement. He had successfully completed the first task, slyly taking the golden egg. He had invited you with him to the Prefect bathroom to put the egg underwater. You had helped him find a spell to hold his breath underwater, you had been knocked out and woke up being saved by Cedric, put onto a dock with hundreds of kids watching, and you helped prepare Cedric for the last task.
"I will, love. I swear." Cedric said, putting his hands on your waist, holding you. You had spent the whole day with Cedric, trying to calm him down before the task that awaits him tomorrow.
"A swear is not a promise. Please, just.. we both know how dangerous these tasks have been." You look up at Cedric, taking his hands off your waist and holding them in yours.
"Okay, I promise I won't get hurt, love." He leaned down, kissing your cheek and smiling at you, tucking a strand of hair behind your hair. All you did was hug him, praying to anything out there that Cedric would be safe tomorrow.
You had barely slept a wink last night, too much on your mind to sleep. You slip off your bed, saying hi to your dorm mates and heading to the bathroom, showering and finishing getting ready. You put on your house uniform, throwing on a scarf and your tie before walking out of your dormitory and off to breakfast. You were supposed to meet Cedric by the Great Hall, walking quickly down the corridors before arriving at the hall, spotting Cedric and walking up to him.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long, love." Pecking his lips, you take his hand in yours, heading inside and sitting down beside him at the Hufflepuff table to eat with you and Cedric's friends.
"Cedric, what time do you have to be there?" Whispering to Cedric, you take a muffin from the middle of the table, putting it onto your plate. "About 15 minutes before you have to be there."
You sighed, looking at Cedric and leaning on his shoulder. You felt tense and scared. "Not to be a downer, and I believe in you of course, but what happens if you get hurt? I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if you got seriously injured." All Cedric did was look at you, his brows slightly furrowed and his pupils dialating.
"Remember what I told you last night? I promise I won't get hurt, love." He held your hand under the table, softly moving his thumb against your knuckles.
After breakfast, you and Cedric walked to a secluded tower of the castle, looking at each other. "I love you, Cedric." You said, looking up at him and smiling. You wrapped your arms around the crook of his neck, his arms naturally going down to your waist, pulling you closer to him. You rest your head into the crook of his neck. "I love you too, Y/n." He smiled at you, moving his hands up and down the sides of your waist soothingly. Moving your hands up to his face, cupping his cheeks, you stand on your tippy toes and kiss him. It's a soft and relieving kiss that shows how much you both care for each other. You hold the kiss for a few seconds, stopping and looking down at your shoes. Suddenly, Cedric engulfs you in a hug, resting his head in your neck. "I love you so much, Cedric. Please, be safe my love." You played with his hair, a sad smile on your face.
He kissed your neck softly, sensing how tense you were. Whenever you were stressed or studying he'd always do these things like hold your hand or kiss your neck to soothe you.
You felt calmer, but something told you something was going to go wrong, you could feel it.
Standing in the front rows of the bleachers, you smile to your friends that are beside you and cheer Cedric name, occasionally chanting for Potter.
"He won't get hurt, right?" You say loudly to your friend, Ottoline, having to shout because of all the noise and commotion surrounding you and your friends.
"He'll be alright, Y/n, he's strong. We both know how much he loves you, right? He'll power through for you." She patted your shoulder, smiling at you before turning back to the big field that stood before the stands. Still, you had that feeling that had been haunting you since last night. The feeling that.. something was wrong.
"Representing Hogwarts...Cedric Diggory!" The announcer shouted, cheers and chants emerging from the stands, including you. You saw Cedric, smiling at him. He made eye contact with you, smiling and winking. You blushed.
You walked quickly down your row of the stands, excusing yourself when you would accidentally bump into someone. As you made your way to the row closest to the field, you caught Cedric's attention and smiled. "Be safe, love!" You shouted to him, grinning as he gave you a thumbs up and giggling.
The announcer gave the competitors the go. The competitors enter the maze, running with determined looks on their faces. As soon as they entered the maze, you couldn't see any of them anymore.
Harry and Cedric had just came back, seemingly teleporting onto the field. Everyone cheered, seeing as they both had came back. You, however, were in the closest row to the field. So you were one of the first to see. You could feel the color draining from your face, tears already rolling down your cheeks and blurring your eyesight. You pushed past the people in your row and the man guarding the exit to the field, running onto the field and kneeling down beside Harry and gasping, suddenly feeling like you couldn't breathe. You were now sat down on the left of Harry, in front of Cedric's pale body. From the stands you has seen Harry's teary eyes and now kneeled down right by him, you could see how red and irritated his eyes were. You looked at his scar that was usually covered by his hair, seeing how red and bruised it looked around it. Harry looked up to the stands, tears still in his eyes and all over his cheeks. "Stop cheering! Don't you see him!" He shouted at them, looking back to Cedric then making eye contact with you and muffling his cries with his hand.
You looked down before you, seeing your boyfriends now lifeless body right in front of you. You punched the grass beside his body, feeling your hands become bruised and cut by the hardened soil that rooted the grass to the ground. "He broke my fucking promise, Harry. He broke the promise..." You look up at Harry, his face seemingly morphed as you could barely see him, or anything for that matter, with your teary eyes. "What promise?" Harry asked, his voice seemingly as shaky as yours. "I made him promise last night that- that he wouldn't get too hurt..." You were shaking, hugging Cedric's pale and ice cold body. You looked at his eyes, the ones that were always filled with brightness and joy and happiness and love. The eyes that he looked at you with, seemingly always looking at you differently than everyone else. The eyes were now dark, not holding any memories or joy of love in them anymore. Everything around you was too much. You continued to shake and cry, hugging his body and running your hand through his hair. You held his hand, hoping to find the heat you would always find when holding his hand through the halls of the castle, always bringing you warmth even on your coldest days. It wasn't there anymore. That warmth was now filled with an inhuman cold that seemed to never end. Harry looked at you, hugging you as you cry into his shoulder.
"He's dead..." You whispered to Harry, your voice shaky and broken.
Suddenly, someone was pulling you away. You slapped and punched at their hands, using your nails to claw at them, trying to rip their grip off of you and go back to Cedric, wanting to see that warm pink color rise back to his cheeks where it always was. You kicked at the persons legs, "Let me go! Let me fucking go, you dick! That's my boyfriend!" You said through a shaking and cracky voice, a bit of snot running down from your nose. Looking up, you see Harry being pulled away by Dumbledore. You knew you looked like a mess but you didn't care. He was dead. And you knew you wouldn't ever see him again. Hold his hand again, kiss him, hug him, cuddle him, talk to him, eat breakfast with him, study with him. He broke his promise, and all you could do was cry about it.

Tumblr media
Draco Malfoy, the definition of a being blessed by the heavens. Born with a golden spoon in his grasp, the lad had the wealth, looks, and the brains to put many to shame. As such, he had been bred and raised with the ideology of perfection and beauty. Elegance was what would define the pure blood, perfection was their motto and beauty was their existence. The upper cream of the society, the best. And like any other pompous rich daddy's boy, he had let this get to his head- at least till he hit his teens.
As he got older, he became more irritable. Any and everything would aggravate him, years of listening to his father had gotten him nothing but hate from most of the people in his school and as usual minimal recognition from his father. The golden trio being part of the many things that would tick him off, his own 'friends' could easily trigger the 6th year, leading him to throw a sissy fit for a good 30 minutes. He could hear them whisper and murmur in every corner, the professors, the students, and even the paintings. The older he grew the louder the voices became, increasing in numbers. He was lucky enough to have a solo room, which was possible due to his influential status.
In the calm of the night, he would lay in bed, staring at the stoned ceiling, wondering why perfection was something he felt that he needed but could not attain. He'd wonder why he was still alone, he had done everything his parents had asked and was excelling in his studies, so what exactly had he done wrong? Potter? Was Potter really that important? Potter didn't have anything he had, but he had that one thing the blue-eyed boy had been craving for a long time, friends. Perhaps he didn't deserve friends, real ones, part of being him was being alone- perfection often tends to exist solo. Or so he thought.
Quidditch, the only thing that made him feel alive, made him feel like a normal 16-year-old, one who had a purpose. A game that was perfect- at least according to him. He had made captain too- yes, he had bought his way into the team initially, but he was a pretty good player (according to Slytherin standards), which is why as the new captain he had made sure to change up the laid-back training schedule of the team. Unfortunately, he had forgotten to check things, the pre-existing schedule of the other teams and the weather for the next day.
Hence, the drenched team in green stood by the bleachers, as their 'new captain' was busy arguing with the captain of the Hufflepuffs.
"Listen Malfoy, we gave our schedule a week before yours, the field is ours for the day-"
"THE DAY? Bloody hell Diggory, you pastry puffs really got some nerve, huh?"
"Mind repeating that Malfoy?" The brunette took a step forward, glaring at the blonde, neither wanting to back down. Perhaps if the blonde had asked politely, the older one would've given him the field but not if he thought it was HIS BIRTH RIGHT.
"Cedric."
The two turned to look at the person who had dared to interfere as the two were trying to "alpha" the other out.
"Lovely to see how hormonal boys get when they don't get their way, but the storm's getting worse and we're leaving. Can't see a thing." Y/N stood there, holding her broom, uniform clinging to her body as she pushed back her wet hair that was bothering her vision.
"And who might you be" he snapped at her, trying not to drink in her image, something was off about her, he couldn't tell what it was but he felt this thing.
"The keeper. Anyway, we're leaving now, Cedric." She cut him off before motioning for the brunette, walking away with the rest of her team, not giving either of the captains the chance to speak up.
"She's uh- vice-captain by the way," Cedric muttered, as a matter of fact, he didn't just let anyone tell him what to do, so technically, she was allowed to since she was vice-captain, not just anyone on the team.
Draco stood there, with his team behind him, the sound of the rain growing angrier echoing behind them as he mumbled to himself, "Is she new?" Only to be heard by Zabini who responded, "Not really, I think she just made vice-captain this season...a looker ain't she." He looked at his captain who gave him a certain look of disgust- to anyone else it was the usual grimace he would express at the mention of any and everyone, but right now, unknown to everyone on his team, his expressions expressed not his disgust but possessiveness. He had no idea why, but as the words slipped past Zabini's smug face he wanted to sock him in the face, punishment for disrespecting her- what in merlin's name? Shrugging him off the blonde stormed off, everyone else exchanging a look, Boyle sending Zabini a look, 'Really man?" Who let out a chuckle, "It's true though...too bad she's a puff."
That night he couldn't sleep, he didn't know what it was, perhaps the fact that he had never noticed her before was bothering him. The notion of that thought bothering him was bothering him even more because why in Merlin's name would he care about noticing a Hufflepuff, even if she was on the quidditch team, why would he notice her? He barely ever noticed anyone anyway. Huffing in frustration he pushed away the soft comforter, jumping off his bed as he groaned, perhaps a walk around the halls would do good, the cold weather is always a good way to clear one's mind. Putting on his robes he walked out into the dimly lit common room, glad no one else was awake at this hour. Grabbing a green apple on his way out he made sure to keep the noise to the minimum so no one could catch him roaming around past curfew hours.
Hopping up the last step he took a deep breath, exhaling to watch the white puff come to life. The wind howled around the corridors as he reached the base of the giant door, it was usually locked, but perhaps the Slytherin prince had found a way to undo the spells that kept it locked. Opening the door he entered the astronomy tower, and that's when he saw the reason for tonight's insomnia, sitting there at the edge of the window, legs dangling out, eyes closed, looking all peaceful- and here he was somewhat annoyed.
"You'll fall at this rate." He spat, well, it came out ruder than he intended it to. It was supposed to be laced with concern but his usual mood and inability to control his temper had gotten the best of him, again. And now, she'd probably insult him or -
"Well, I wouldn't worry about that." She shrugged, scooching back a bit, "wouldn't be missed much." Turning her head to him she cocked a brow,  "The real question is, why are you here?"
"Fresh air."
"Ah, I see." With that she turned back around, choosing silence over the conversation. He thought he'd appreciate it but instead he pestered her further;
"Shouldn't you be in bed, Hufflepuff?"
"Shouldn't you?"
"I asked you first."
"Well, then I couldn't sleep so I came up here."
"I've never seen you up here before."
"Well, let's just say something happened today and I needed to be alone." She spat back, only to sigh at his raised brows, "sorry...I was about to leave anyway." She lied, but she was in no mood to start an argument with him. She'd seen how he got when he'd be in full Slytherin mode and right now she was too tired to handle it-
"You can stay." Mumbling he closed the door behind him, locking it as he walked over to the other end, another window, "Get off the window though, don't want to be blamed if you fall and become a scrambled egg."
Her laugh bounced across the walls, ringing like bells in his ears, eyes darting to her form that was now seated right under the giant window, back pressed against the stone wall, facing the room. Clearing his throat - he didn't mean it as a joke- he looked away, peering out at the view, the dark lake reflecting the moon, the mist settling in across the fields, covering like a bride's veil.
The land was silent, other than the occasional howl that would echo across the valley, but that was it, it was at this exact hour of the night when he felt at ease, free from all and everything that had him all riled up. However, he had never expected to share that moment with anyone, let alone the Hufflepuff keeper- one who had been playing as long as him but he had never noticed. Possibly because they had beat the brightly colored house in numerous matches. Bringing his cold hands to his lips, he blew out a puff, hoping to warm them up, and it hit him, she was sitting in nothing but her uniform- quidditch uniform. Frowning at the thought he turned to take a look at her again, only for their eyes to meet.
Quickly averting her gaze she pretended to look elsewhere, the wall across the room becoming too interesting all of a sudden. Yes, she had been looking at him because she liked him, no, it wasn't because of that she had been avoiding him since day one. She had been looking at him simply because he was beautiful- she had seen many like him, like her, beings that belonged to prominent families, but none looked like him, radiating a glow like him. It was...intimidating. Though she could not judge, for she had never conversed with him before,  usually she'd avoid everyone during class, especially when the Golden Trio was involved, the usual banter was quite irritating, why couldn't everyone just get along? Perhaps this was why she was sorted in Hufflepuff, a lot of things didn't matter to her; family names, intellect, race- who cares? As long as one is within the boundaries of a decent person, why must there be an issue?
"So, why are you here?" He asked, placing the skeleton of the eaten apple beside him, "In uniform?" Once again, his tone of choice was harsher than anticipated, which led him to expect a flinch or a retort, and once again, he received neither but a simple answer.
"Had a lot on my mind today...and uh" she looked down to realize she hadn't changed from her gear anyway- well she did come here directly from the field. The rain had just added to the flare of angsty thoughts, which is why she had spent almost all day after practice, in the astronomy tower.
"What is it?"
"Well, aren't you a nosy hen?" Snorting at him, her gaze met his for a split second, crystal orbs wide, as if he had realized how he was prying.
"Sorry." He mumbled, turning back to the view, ignoring her, brows knitted together, cheeks flushed- from the chilly wind mind you.
"Are you...brooding?" She gasped before letting out a sweet chuckle, "And here I thought you were ready to fight Cedric in the morning-"
"Please, I'd beat him to a pulp."
"Very mature." She smirked, knowing she was able to get a reaction out of him, "Though I'm glad you didn't..." Whispering she looked at her hands, she didn't eat anything after practice, was she starving? Probably but-
"Here." She heard from beside her, squeaking and jumping a foot away, when had he moved closer to her? Noticing his extended hand, she saw the contents that lay in his palm, wrapped in shiny foil were a dozen Fizzing Whizbees, "Bet you didn't eat if you've been here all day."
Clearing her throat to cover up her reaction she nodded, slowly reaching out to grab one, fingertips brushing against the skin of his palm, which was surprisingly soft and warm. Sitting back down beside him she popped it in her mouth, savoring the sweetness as she closed her eyes in contentment.
He watched her silently, not knowing why he was being like this, confused as to why she hit didn't think this was out of character for him. Then it hit him like a mad witch on a broom, he wasn't bothered because she was the reason he couldn't sleep in the first place- why he was roaming around the halls like a ghost, all because she was stuck in his mind. He had been thinking of looking her up, thinking of ways he could, if not talk then, learn about her a bit more, enough to satisfy his curiosity and remind himself of how mundane and boring she truly was.
"Yeah, I didn't" she peeked at his hand, to see if she could take another, only for him to place the rest between them, glancing at her and then looking ahead, "So, why are you here?"
"Well, since you were oh so kind to bribe me with sweets, I'll tell you."
"I'm not bribing you-" he frowned only for her to giggle, "It's a joke, Malfoy, haven't heard one before?"
"O-oh."
"Anyway, I came here to clear my head...family stuff, y'know."
"Yeah, I know." He sighed, not like he had the best relationship with his father, the man he would listen to at all costs. Feeling her sigh in return he muttered, "What's your name puff?"
"Well, it's definitely not Puff. I'd also appreciate it if you don't call me that." She snapped back, glaring at him. He frowned in return, not really sure if he should argue back, being polite was never his strong suit, especially to anyone else but, for some reason, he muttered an apology to her. That earned him a ....smile.
"Apology accepted. It's Y/N L/N"
"WAIT"
Flinching at the loudness of his voice she groaned, she knew where this was going, "L/N- you're the...oh..." he paused for a second then continued, a bit calmer this time, choosing his words wisely, "The last child of the L/N family....the one that..."
"Yes, yes, you can say it, stained the family name. I am aware- apparently being sorted into Hufflepuff was a real issue for my parents."
"I'm-"
"You say you're sorry and I swear I'll hex you."
"Yeah..." and then there was silence, for a good time too, neither exchanged a word. To be honest, she thought he would make fun of her or walk away as soon as she told him her family name. Her family made fun of her and walked out on her too, she was no longer invited to family dinners- rather was not allowed to attend any, no galas or birthdays or parties of any kind, hell, not even funerals. To make it all easier, she was a resident of the school, a deal signed by her parents and submitted to Dumbledore, requesting she stay there till her school years are complete. After that, she was sure they'd either ship her away or cut off all ties with her permanently. Yet, here he was, the lad of one of the most prestigious families, sitting there, feeling sorry for her.
"I don't feel sorry for you though."
"What." turning a whole 90 degrees she looked at him with eyes as big as saucers, trying to stare right into his soul as she squinted, "Excuse me?"
He knew she was looking at him, but he did not dare look back, he knew the moment he locked his eyes with hers, he'd lose the newly formed confidence. Clearing his throat, pulling his robes closer to himself, "I mean, I don't, I - you don't seem like your father...or your mother, you're different." Simply put, the Malfoy heir had met the L/N family, naturally, they were one of the few families his father would invite to their annual dinner- yet he had never met her, even when he was younger, he has no memory of it. He knew she had an older sister and an older brother, the sister sorted into Ravenclaw, much like her mother while the brother was a resident Slytherin, both graduated when he was a wee lad.
"Why have I...never seen you though? Even at dinners- prior to Hogwarts?"
"Oh, funny story actually," she sat facing him, knees pressed to her chest, conversing casually like they had known each other for centuries, "So like, I was 5, right, and we were in Paris, family vacation and stuff. And there was, playing in the park with the rest of my siblings when out of the blue this weird lady pops up and grabs my hands!`` She reached forward and grabbed him, too engrossed in the story, to be honest, she considered him a friend now anyway, her hands gripping his wrists. He flinched but didn't pull away, wanting no more, "She was bald and had no teeth, dressed in all black- her eyes were sunken in and she smiled at me with those gums wide." He made a disgusted expression at this oh-so-vivid description, nodding as if signaling her to continue, "And she said with glee 'You, the youngest of the L/N, will bear a curse like no other, one that would shatter the family name~' and then everybody was panicking okay and before anyone could get a hold of the weird sorcerer lady, she vanished" gasped, amused by how his expressions were changing as the story reached its climax, "Thus, I was taken to another fortune teller, one who advised my parents to keep me locked up to protect me, hide my existence till I could come to Hogwarts." she finished, letting go of his wrists, as she clapped her hands together, "the end."
The dent between his eyebrows increased, first of all, that story made no sense, and secondly, the lack of contact made him realize how warm her hands were, the cold air on his skin burnt as if her touch had engraved into his soul.
"Your bloody wankers." He scoffed, "No wonder they locked you up-"
"It's true! Turns out the dishonor part came when I was sorted into Hufflepuff." she argued, somewhat enjoying this conversation, "After that they barely kept any contact with me, I am to stay at school until my education is finished, and I was upset today because I had sent an owl with news about becoming Vice-captain- though my father said it would have only mattered if it wasn't the house I was in and he'd appreciate if I only sent an owl out if it was an emergency. Like how do I do that? What if I'm dying? Won't really have time to write then, would I?" she whined, reaching for another sweet.
"Well..." he muttered, not really knowing what to say next. Honestly, he didn't want the conversation to go in so deep, he just wanted her to give her a pathetic story, so he could insult her and move on but now, he felt as if he owed her something, not sure why.
"So, why are you here?" she finally asked, neatly folding the wrapper of the sweet, and stuffing it in her pocket.
'You'  he thought to himself-
"For fresh air."
"Doesn't seem like an actual reason."
"It is."
"Well, I mean now you know my secret and I don't know yours."
"You do know my secret." He muttered, standing up, dusting himself as he looked around.
"I do?" she looked up at him through her lashes, eyes wide.
"Yes, you know I come here sometimes."
"That's not a secret, that just makes me an accomplice to your crime."
Letting out an uncharacteristic chuckle, he looked away, so she couldn't see his face, slowly walking towards the door, in a few hours they'd have class and he didn't want to be late in the morning. At the door he turned to look at her, "Aren't you going to bed...Y/N?" he asked, holding onto the door, choosing not to call her Puff anymore, or by her last name since it would bring up bad memories for her- WHY DID HE CARE?
"Nope." she responded, "I will in a while."
"You'll be late for class."
"Please, I need two hours of sleep max."
"You know...I can't really tell if you're a good liar or just all talk no bite."
"Bit of both Mr.Malfoy."
Raising his eyebrows he scoffed at the name he was given, she had some nerve, he'd give her that. Part of him wanted to converse with her, the more logical part knew the two probably would not interact after this, she'd live on with her life and him with his, and perhaps they wouldn't even interact in class- usually Potter would keep him busy anyway.
"Goodnight Y/N" with that he walked out, feeling that all too familiar feeling settle in his bones once more, back to being Malfoy, the Slytherin Prince. He did wonder if she would actually be on time tomorrow- wait, did they even have class together?
They did, in fact, for the next morning, Draco Malfoy had stepped into Potions class early morning, a bit tired, but not enough to sneer at the golden trio that was sitting on the opposite end. Crystal orbs looked around the class, scanning for a particular person, perhaps she was not in his class anyway. He turned back to the board when Snape walked past him, tapping on his desk to gain his attention, "Eyes front Mr.Malfoy."
Almost twenty minutes in, Snape stops to talk only to glare at someone, though half the class freezes, Draco is one of the few that turn to look at the poor person, and there he sees her, standing there, staring at her professor sheepishly, wearing a few extra layers- of course, she probably caught a cold.
"Miss L/N, where have you been?"
"I um...overslept Sir."
"And how is that my problem?" he snapped back at her, only for her to flinch, mumbling an apology. Exhaling through his nose the man waved his hand, "Sit down. And 10 points from Hufflepuff."
She scurried to the empty seat in the back corner, sitting down to look up and lock eyes with shiny blue hues, smiling at him meekly as she looked back down at her desk, though he was still staring at her. She looked different in her usual uniform, strange, not to mention he had told her to go to sleep and-
"Mr.Malfoy, if you're done staring at Miss L/N, look in front." he flinched when the professor gripped his head and moved him to look forward. To say the Prince of Slytherin was embarrassed was an understatement, he was blushing mad, especially when he heard a few students giggle- including WEASLEY. Oh, how he wanted to punch him in the face. The rest of the Slytherins were confused though, mostly Draco's group, why had he been staring at the Puff in the first place?
The class was over and he was glad, he was pissed and right now his hungry eyes were looking for someone to destroy, to bully enough to make them feel worthless. That's when his eyes landed on her sleeping form. For heaven's sake, had she fallen asleep too? How, just how did Snape not see that???? Walking over to her sleeping form he stood there, wondering if he should wake her up and yell at her for embarrassing him in front of everyone- but technically, she had nothing to do with that, he was staring at her by choice. He was alone, she was asleep and no one else was there. Frantically, his eyes scanned the books that lay beside her, what other classes did they have together? a few- wait, they've had almost every class together?
"You comin' mate?" His head whipped to the door to find Zabini standing there at the doorway, arms crossed over his chest.
"Yeah," he muttered as he walked towards the exit.
She felt someone poke her, groaning at the disturbance. She opened her eyes, only to spot Luna smiling at her, "You look like a little pixie when you're asleep."
"OH MY GOD." She sat up, staring at the people around her, this wasn't her class, wait, how long had she been asleep? Turning to look at Luna she whispered, "What time is it?"
"Well, it's half past noon."
"I'M LATE FOR PRACTICE!" she gasped, slamming her hands on the table, gathering her stuff, and almost out the door when Luna called for her, "Wait, Y/N, you forgot this!" She turned to look at the blonde, spotting a familiar shiny object in her hand, a Fizzing Whizbee. had he put it there for her? Clearing her throat she thanked her and took it from her hand a bit too abruptly then dashed out.
"Pretty pixie didn't realize she missed half the school day too." the blonde giggled before going to her seat, glad she had woken up before the next professor had come in.
As soon as she reached the field she bumped into someone, "Oh sorry- Cedric hey." she smiled up at him, praying to any and everything he wouldn't make her do laps.
"You're late."
"I may have overslept."
"How?"
"In class....been asleep since the first one-"
"You've been sneaking out again?"
"Not sneaking out if I never came in, don't go all Prefect on me now."
Sighing in defeat he moved so she could get her gear only to grab her wrist, "Did you say you've been asleep since the FIRST CLASS?"
"...Perhaps."
It was this conversation that had led her to run laps around the field, while everyone else was up in the skies, even the benched keeper was there- replacing her. 30 rounds- Cedric was mad, nothing else- she wasn't even much of a runner. On her 25th round of running - walking out of breath- she fell to her knees, panting as she looked up at the sky, squinting to see the people that looked like ants, "Bloody Diggory."
"Oh, would ya look at that, a Puff with broken wings," she turned her head to look at whoever thought that was a clever insult. Goyle, who else, ah yes, the rest of the Slytherin team behind him. Standing up she dusted her clothes and looked at them, "Field's taken, as you can see."
"Well, we want the skies, not the field, you can continue with your running though." Zabini stepped forth, a smirk adorning his face as he leaned closer to look at her, "Got Malfoy in trouble today didn't ya?"
"Your boy got himself in trouble- now get out of my face or-"
"Get out of her face Zabini, the hell's wrong with you."  He spat, pulling him back with his robes, "Now, act like a good vice-captain and get your captain." He looked at her, slightly annoyed by the morning's events.
"Okay, 2 things." She raised her hand to show two fingers, "1)I'm the vice-captain, not a messenger, 2)I can't, he took my broom."
"Sorry?"
"Apology accepted."
Zabini snickered, looking away when Draco turned to glare at him, then back at her, "What do you mean he took your broom?" Why was he angry- wait, was he angry for her?
"He's the captain, captains can do that- please tell me you've read the handbook?"
"There's a handbook?"
"Yes?" She answered, utterly confused as to how he even made captain. At this point, the rest of the team was growing restless, wondering why their captain was even conversing with her.
"Come on Malfoy, show her the damn paper so we can kick'em out!" Zabini cut her off, kind of tired at this point.
"What- oh yeah. We have a signed-HAVE YOU NO MANNERS?"
She snatched it from his hand, reading his very clean and pretty writing, a new schedule, approved by Professor Snape. Of course.
"PFFT" she looked up at him, "You.. realize you have to get this signed by all house masters and the team captains?"
"SAYS WHO?", He yelled, gone was the patient Malfoy, because no she was testing him and he was done.
"The Handbook. Would've known it existed if you didn't buy your way in the team." She snapped back, shutting him up. Two could play that game. She didn't want to pick a fight with him, but he just wasn't listening.
"What did you say to him?" Another player in green stepped forth only to be stopped by the captain, his hand in front of him as he peered down at her, "Watch yourself, L/N. Let's go."
"What?" Goyle spat, "We don't have to play by the rules Draco-"
"When I say let's go, " he turned to the boy, walking closer as he glared at him, all his anger now addressed to him, "You shut up and listen, like a good little boy, do I make myself clear?" He seethed through gritted teeth, ever ready to knock some sense into him.
Gulping the pale boy nodded, quickly turning around and following the rest of the team, none waiting for their captain to follow. Turning around he frowned at her, "I didn't buy my way into captaincy."
"I know." She shrugged, handing him the paper that he snatched back, "Then act like you didn't." With that she jogged away.
The loud crunch of the paper could be heard as he walked away, back to his dorm to change, for lunch. He did not expect to be confronted by Zabini, sitting on the couch, staring at the blonde who had entered but chose to ignore him.
"Mind telling me what was that about?"
"What was what?" He asked, stopping by a table to peer through the snacks and sweets. He was glad the common room was almost empty at this hour, unfortunately he had not anticipated being confronted by an idiot.
"You didn't say anything to her- no wait, you let a Puff talk back to you, it was almost like you two know each other." He suggested getting up to go to Draco, who had grabbed a fistful of Fizzing Wizbees and stuffing them in his pocket.
"I saw no reason to, also, don't get up in her face- wait, don't get up in any woman's face, that's weird." He spat back, and stomped away, assuming he had offended him. Unfortunately, the other male just snorted in response muttering an 'interesting.'
Seated for lunch he poured himself some juice and began to eat. Act like a captain, what did that even mean? Scoffing, he smashed the potatoes, even more, wondering where he could get himself that book, the old captain had never told him about it- then again, the old captain didn't care much about the rules either. They were Slytherins, they never did. But the way she had said it, like he had to prove something to everyone, prove something to her. Who was she anyway? Hell even her own family didn't want her- but it's not like she chose which house to be sorted in. Shaking his head he groaned, staring at the plate of now cold food. She wasn't like her family anyway, she was cunning or a cheater and wasn't the brightest out there too- he had met the family, the siblings, but neither reminded him of her. They were elegant beings, one that looked at most with a glint of disgust in their eyes, yet, there was her, she had nothing, but it didn't bother her. Isn't perfection having everything? Her father had practically told her off just yesterday, highlighting her insignificance and here she was, joking around and sleeping in the class- why was he thinking about her anyway-
"Draco you haven't eaten a thing! Are you alright", Pansy's shrill pushed his train off its tracks, instantly igniting a fire within him- he was triggered, once again.
He got up abruptly, the group around him quieting down, he glared at the person who dared interrupt his thoughts. "I'm not hungry." He spat and walked away, shoving any and every kid that got in his way. Harry being one of those poor souls, earning a, "Watch it, POTTER."
Scoffing in response the brunette went to sit at his table, "What's his deal." He said as he put himself some food. His friends in response shrugged, Hermoine pitching in, "He's been weird all morning, I think he's embarrassed about being called out by Snape."
"He did that to himself though." Ron mumbled with a mouthful, only for Ginny to grimace then, "I heard he fought with Cedric yesterday and Y/N called it off." They heard another Weasley, of course, the twins would have all the hot gossip.
Fred shoved Ron aside to sit next to Harry and smirked, "Apparently they had a little argument today too." He said as he picked up a berry and popped it in his mouth. Harry just shrugged and snorted, "How is that any different?"
"Oh, dear boy." George gasped, standing behind Hermione, "She won the argument and from what we've heard, he even told off one of his goons- you don't just stare at someone in Snape's class, mate. That's just dumb."
"Shouldn't we not presume stuff?" Ginny asked as she placed her empty dish aside, sighing at her brother's antics.
"It's not presuming," Fred announced, only for George to continue, "It's an observation."

Draco had spent almost all day in the library and he could find no such handbook. What the hell was that woman about? Was she lying to him? She wasn't like that, right? Or was she just messing with him, trying to mock him, some sort of stupid prank to satisfy her pathetic self. Angered, he marched up the stairs to the tower, he wasn't even sure if she would be there, though he prayed that she wasn't. A part of him wanted to yell at her, insult her and make her feel as worthless as everyone had deemed her to be, but the more compassionate side of the boy, the one that was often asleep, had been urging him to remain patient, to see how things unfold before jumping to any conclusion.
Slamming open the door he looked around the empty space, shoulders slouching as he let out a shaky breath, muttering something under his breath. She wasn't there, it was half past 8, he had skipped dinner to come up here, not for her though, or so he was telling himself as he entered, closing the door behind him.
Choosing to sit by the window she had yesterday he sighed, he was used to feeling angry, this temperament had become a part of who he was, a feeling that would bubble up at the thought of any and everyone, but right now, at the thought of her, what he felt was not anger but...disappointment. What was the purpose of last night's events? He was sitting there like a fool, with a pocket full of sweets, why? Not to mention Zabini had been trying to gain some form of entertainment from this situation, first the class' events, then he caught him staring at her asleep, then he was up in her face at the field- exhaling he closed his eyes, head tilting back against the stoned cold wall. His hand reached for his pocket, feeling the rustling sweets, as he opened his eyes and looked at the door, then getting up in defeat and disappointment-
"BLOODY STAIRS"
Flinching at the loud slam of the door he hissed, "Quiet down!" Eyes landed on her hunched-over frame, heaving, and panting.
"Shh- " she waved her hand, holding onto the door as she tried to stand up properly, stretching her back. Closing the door, making sure no one was there she turned around to smile at him, only to shiver under his icy cold glare. "N-no one followed me, don't worry" she cleared her throat, averting her gaze.
"Better not have." He scoffed, staring at her, she had her bag with her. He wanted to ask her why she was late, but since he was "mad" at her, he didn't.
"Umm...I'm sorry about today's class...you got called out because of me." She muttered, staring at her feet.
"And the field?" Crossing his arms over his chest he stared at her.
"You did that to yourself."
"What?" He gasped, shocked, utterly shocked at the audacity of this being-
"Well what else!" She exclaimed walking over to him as she reached in her bag, which hung on her shoulder, "what kind of captain doesn't know basic rules?? What good is it to be one of the best players in the school and not know basic rules?" She took out a small battered book, showing it to him, "Don't lose it, okay? I borrowed it from Cedric for a week."
He was...touched. She had gotten him the book and explicitly stated how he was one of the best players? He reached out for it, fingers gripping onto the opposite end of it, only to stop and frown at the last moment, "You sure talk a lot about Diggory."
"He's my friend." She muttered, pulling away once he took the book, "Anyway, I'll be off now! My legs hurt and I had to get you this-"
"Wait." Grabbing her wrist he stared at her, frowning, as if he was angry at her. Well, it seemed like that to her, he kinda looked constipated. "Yes?" She asked, staring up at him, the world around them slowing down, nothing existing but them.
"I - You- here." She felt him place something in her palm, glancing down at the sweets then up at him, biting her lip to stifle a laugh, failing horribly.
"HAHhahah-" she covered her mouth with her free hand, stuffing the sweets in her bag as she looked away, trying not go embarrass him anymore. "S-sorry hah..." Turning to look at him, she burst into another fit of laughter, his face growing redder by the minute.
"Are you done?" He spat, ears as pink as his cheeks at the moment. Yes, he was embarrassed, but he dared not avert his gaze, he took his sweet time drinking in the scene before him. The way she was laughing, the way her nose would crinkle, face flushing as her melodic laugh filled the world around him.
Gasping she shook her head, "Man....I'm sorry, I'm- you looked so serious and...I...its like you pay me with these."
"I don't pa-"
"Again, it's a joke...but thank you." She smiled up at him, "I'll consider moving you up from 'acquaintance' to 'close acquaintance' ."
Pausing at the responde he looked away, hoping she didn't notice the way his lips had slightly curled upwards, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Anyway, I'm going to go now, I'm exhausted and I don't want Snape to throw me out tomorrow".
"Goodnight...Y/N."
Only waving at him in response, she noticed how majestic he looked, standing there under the moonlight, shimmering hair being caressed by the wind- a being made with perfection to the dot.

The Malfoy heir woke up next morning before the birds could begin their usual tune. He was ready before everyone and was out of the common room, heading straight to class, passing by professors, muttering quick good mornings to them, while they were still trying to blink away the sleep.
Opening the classroom door he entered the cold room, shivering at how Snape would keep his class covered from anything warm- may it be sunlight or anything else. He was early, good, no one would be there and he could sit and brood in silence for a while, he had sent out a letter to his father in regards to his studies a while back, though his father's response was more of a lecture on how to be better. Hence, after tearing it up he had decided to come for class.
"You're up early."
"Shit." Almost jumping out of his skin he turned to look at her sitting in her usual spot at the back, head resting on her palm, fingers of her other hand drumming against the wooden desk.
"What are you doing here?" He frowned, choosing to sit close to her yet at a distance, sitting at the opposite edge of the same bench. It would be easier for him to pretend he had just entered and was going to his desk.
"Woke up early, apparently if you sleep on time you can wake up early." She stated like it was a newly discovered fact, then sat properly and reached for her bag, "May I interest you in some candy? A young fellow has been giving them away recently, I feel like he has shares in the business." She said, taking out a shiny wrapped sweet and showing it to him, "Breakfast is very important."
"Chocolate is breakfast?"
"Anything is breakfast if you believe in it." She exclaimed, sliding it over to him as he caught it in one swift movement. A small smile gracing his lips as he stared at the dark desk, the way she had just commented on his way of thanking her was somewhat...comical.
"So," clicking her tongue she glanced at him, his side profile, "You seem...upset."
"How can you tell?" He asked, eying the toffee wrapper he was now nervously playing with, fingers trying to smooth over the creases of the foil.
"Stop that." He was unsure of when she had moved next to him, he never even felt her body heat, unt she gently took the wrapper away from him, fingers brushing against his colder ones. Just like that she was gone, back in her place again, keeping her distance like he was initially.
"Why did you-"
"Let it be, the wrinkles and folds, they're a part of it. Let things be, you don't have to fix everything, nor must everything be perfect." Smiling softly she glanced at him, "Accept the imperfections, with the perfection. The sooner you accept it...the better you'll feel " she whispered, no longer looking at him but looking ahead at the empty class. He wasn't sure if she had said the last part to him or herself. Sighing he looked in the same direction as her, "I am not a perfectionist, but you won't understand- it's easier for you".
His only response was a scoff, "You got that right. No longer existing for my family is super easy."
"At least no one expects anything from you-" he countered, turning around to glare at her, he did not want her to lecture him about any bullshit. He had it hard, his father's expectations, the burden of carrying the family name, trying not to break down everytime his mother asked him if he was okay. He stopped though, he had turned to find her staring dead ahead, yet her quivering lip twisted his heart. Had he made her cry?
"I- I didn't mean it like that-"
"It"s fine." Letting out a shaky breath she looked away, wiping her eyes. He wanted to reach out to her, he never meant to hurt her- he had never even seen her frown let alone cry-
"It is easier." She let out a sad chuckle, turning to look at him with glassy eyes, "But it's also a constant reminder of how useless you are. I'm not saying you have it any better, but at least you have parents who know you're there." Sighing, she reached for her bag again and took out her books and quill, "You should go sit in the front now, it's almost time and I- its best if no one sees you here."
"Y/N I-" he stopped at the approaching sound of students and had him stand up abruptly by reflex. Hissing he marched to his usual spot, turning to look at her, he wished she was upset with him- he deserved it but the way she gave him a small smile and went back to reading had his brain working in overdrive. That was it, the moment was gone, and he let it slip past his fingers once more. He knew she'd pretend as if nothing had happened like there had been no argument, no hurt feelings, nothing. He didn't get it, how, just how could she do that? In one swift motion, she'd normalise everything around her.
To make it worse the students that they had heard were not in their class, so now the two were sitting in silence, at opposite ends of the class and he had made a fool out of himself- again. He wanted to start a conversation with her, fix the thing he had broken, but how? As his brain pondered upon the current matters, something hit him smack in the head. Wincing he reached up to touch the aching spot, turning to glare at her as she stifled a laugh, "I thought you'd catch it." He looked at the Fizzing Whizbee that had bounced off his head and landed on the bench beside him, "Did it occur to you that you didn't give heads up?" He snapped back, reaching it and stuffing it in his robe's pocket.
"Well, at least now we know you have a thick skull."
"I am aware of that- diD YOu just insult me??" He gasped as she laughed at him, however, both froze as the door slammed open. A man in black robes and an eerie flare walked in, looked at both of them, and exhaled in defeat.
"May I inquire as to why both of you are here?" The professor mumbled, eying the girl then the blonde who cleared his throat, "For class professor."
"I had announced yesterday that there will be no class today. Seeing as to how Miss L/N was asleep yesterday and you were busy watching her, it is no surprise you two...missed the announcement." He spat, staring at Draco until they heard her snort, quickly ducking her head when both of them looked at her.
"Is something funny?"
"N-no Sir. Sorry Sir"
"Miss L/N, let me add more to your amusement, you've failed your recent test."
"Oh"
"Oh?" Draco reacted before their professor could, only to realize his mistake when Snape turned to him with a cocked brow, "Well, as Mr.Malfoy seems to be distracted by you these days, he'll be tutoring you."
"But Professor-"
"Think of it as a punishment for both, for Miss L/N's horrid grades and...for your lack of knowledge about the Quidditch Handbook".
Before Draco could ask him something about how he knew the professor walked out, leaving the two in the class. A minute of silence passed until she chuckled.
The two walked out of class, though he could tell she was keeping her distance, looking around as they passed the halls with filled classes. She had slowed down, in hopes that he'd get the message of walking away, but clearly, he was as slow as a sloth. Neither had any real destination to go to right now, which is why he turned to look at her, "Library?"
"Is that a...question or a ?"
"We could start on your ...potions stuff." He shrugged, slowing down, letting her catch up, though he did look around to make sure there were no other students there.
She paused for a moment, as if trying to think about it, then nodded, "Very well, lead the way, professor." With that she marched ahead, leaving him standing there, a blushing mess.
Choosing to sit in an empty corner he motioned for her to sit quietly, "I'll be back with the books. Don't do anything stupid." With that he walked off, he needed time to think. How did Snape know about the book? Moreover, he saw her asleep in class but didn't call her out? Why? And what was he going to do when his housemates would ask him about tutoring a puff? Zabini had been up in his arse lately. Sighing in frustration, he grabbed another book, he didn't even know how bad she was in the subject, considering she had failed one of the easiest tests he had given. He was glad the library was almost empty though, he was in no mood of conversation or rather, no mood of arguing with anyone right now. It was also bothering him how she was all normal again. He had offended her, she had failed a test and now she was being tutored by someone whose friends would insult her at every given moment.
Coming back to the desk he placed them on the table, she was scribbling something only to stop when he had come. Closing the small booklet and stuffing it back in her bag, "Those are...a lot of books." She muttered before glancing at him, who in return shrugged and sat down next to her, shoulder brushing against hers as he pulled his own books out of his bag.
The smell of fresh mint and aftershave engulfed her senses when he moved closer, making her dizzy. Side-eying him she made sure to take in the view, his uniform had not a single crease, the way everything was tucked in properly- it was at that moment she noticed that he had taken off his robes before sitting down and rolled up his sleeves too. Clearing her throat she looked up at his face, eyes focused on the things before him, there was a spark within them, one she had never seen before, is this what he usually looked like while studying? Trailing down they landed on his hands, that ring, she knew the purpose of such family hand-me-downs- they were symbols of status. Each of her siblings had one, you receive it once you come of age, but she was not to get any anyway, naturally, she never expected one either. It was the first thing she noticed when his father had given it to him, he would constantly fiddle with it, especially when he was nervous, like the time he had to present in Herbology.
"Y/N?"
"Hmm?"
"If you're done staring into space, shall we begin?" He scoffed, he had noticed her staring at him, he didn't stop her though or say anything, he liked the attention, which was weird because obtaining attention from any woman had never been an issue for him. Though he had never expected to feel like this under her gaze, at least she wasn't talking about Cedric anymore. It took him an extreme amount of self-control when Zabini was getting too close to her in the field. So, yes, even though he was aware he was being inspected by her, he chose to use different wording, to not embarrass her and for he had been relishing the attention. That and he had been helping himself with her image, from the way her tie hung loose, she hadn't even buttoned up completely, she looked so imperfect, yet so ...perfect? Sleeves rolled up, no sweater west, a skirt that ended above her knees, and the choice of wearing black tights. He had noticed in the morning how she wasn't wearing her robes, but never commented on it.
"Y-yes." She cleared her throat taking out her books and stuff, turning to him, "please proceed, professor."
Biting his lip he looked at the notes, "Well um...how about you write down the answers you wrote in the last test." He said, retracting his hands to his lap, under the desk, his fingers going to his other hand, fiddling with the cold ring, waiting for her to begin.
A moment or two later of staring at the blank pages he cleared his throat, was he making her nervous?
"Do you...want me to look away or-"
"I just realized I failed because I left my paper blank."
"...WHAT?"  His voice echoed around the shelves, instantly earning him a "Shh!"
"I fell asleep yesterday...and that's when he took the test..." she trailed off before shrugging, "So, like if you remember the questions-"
"Y/N. I...I mean- how, just how did you get away with that? Snape never saw you??" he snapped, flipping through his own notes, where he had jotted down the questions, so he could work on them in his free time as well.
"Oh, I think he did, but a day before class, the day before I kinda got caught taking potions from the storage area, and Snape caught me and;
"Miss L/N, what are you...doing here?" her professor glared at her, though she had assumed she had hidden successfully, "I can see you behind the shelf."
"I umm.." Clearing her throat she came out from behind the shelf, "I was looking for ingredients..."
"For?"
"Sleeping Draught Sir."
"Why is that? and have you any permission."
"N-no Sir." she clutched the letter behind her, yes, she had read the letter in the morning, but it was almost midnight and her thoughts were getting too loud for her to sleep. Part of her thought of going to the astronomy tower, but the sight of the potions storage room was more tempting, and honestly, easier. So she had snuck out to get a few ingredients, she had the herbs anyway, so all she had to do was take a few other potions, and boom perfect brew. But fate was not with her tonight.
"Give me that." He snatched the paper from her hand, quickly reading it and for a split second, the headmaster's stern eyes softened, only to revert back when he looked at her. "We do not use potions to deal with such petty emotions Miss L/N."
"Yes Professor." she stared at her boots, she was still in her quidditch uniform.
Neatly folding the paper he handed it back to her, clearing his throat, "When the mind is hazy and filthy, one takes to nature, not magic."
She didn't really understand what he meant by that, but she was grateful he wasn't going to give her detention or take away house points. She was about to take the paper for him only for him to pull it away further, "Burdens must be dealt with as soon as possible." He said as he brought his wand to the paper, pressing against the skin of the paper, as it slowly started to disintegrate, evaporating into nothing, "Once they disintegrate, they bother you no more."
"With all due respect professor, I have no idea what you meant by that."
"Get out."
"And that's probs why he didn't wake me up since it is his fault I dozed asleep" she stated as a matter of fact, before stretching her arms over her head, leaning back against her chair, only to slump afterward.
Draco had never been more confused in his life, six years in this school and Snape had not once gone soft on anyone- why on Earth did he- "Wait, the hell did he even mean by that?"
"Oh- so I didn't get it, and after he kicked me out, I came to the astronomy tower right? After practice yesterday, I went to Professor Sprout because my legs hurt and ended up asking her if she knew what Snape meant. Turns out the two are actually friends- or at least, she claims to be, I mean, I know she's super friendly but-"
"You're derailing."
"Huh? Oh- sorry, she told me that Snape had once told her to write down her feelings and then burn the paper, some kind of therapy to make herself feel lighter. So, I guess he was trying to tell me to do that."
"And he'd help you because? You aren't even a Slytherin?" she frowned at his statement, only for him to quickly cover it up with a, "I mean...he's not the friendliest person out there, and we're in his house yet he barely talks to us in a decent manner."
"Good save," she chuckled, resting her chin on her palm as she looked at him, "It's probably because he was the professor my father contacted after I was sorted into Hufflepuff, demanding it was some kind of mistake- then they made arrangements and you know the rest~"
"So, the small diary-"
"Yes, I'll burn the pages soon, see if it works out. Didn't know Snape could actually pity someone," she shrugged, reaching for his notes, reading through them, the neat cursive, not a splotch of ink- what a freak.
"I don't think it's pity though," he muttered, reaching for another book and opening it to a specific page. "Oh~ Then what is it?" she asked excitedly.
"Start reading from here, I've marked it, we got questions from this chapter and the next five."
"FIVE?"
"Yes, now off to it."
They had been sitting there for an hour, while she was reading through the notes occasionally muttering a "This is so stupid." He had been silently reading a book beside her, not bothered- which was amusing, for anyone whining would make him want to smack them, the only one allowed to whine was him. Yet, he didn't mind her, he found it amusing how she had put herself in this situation.
"Been looking all over for you," the two looked up to find Zabini standing there leaning against the shelf, "Neat corner, what's going on here?"
"Clearly, a tutor session- why were you looking for me anyway?" Malfoy slammed his book shut, an irritated huff leaving his lips. The moment was gone, thanks to this idiot.
"Well, I woke up and couldn't find you anywhere, plus Pansy's been bothering everyone about you not feeling well."
"I was feeling spectacular, that is before you showed up." He spat, radiating completely different energy, she had just been watching the two, she could tell Zabini was just enjoying himself, while Draco was slowly losing his temper with the passing minute.
"Oh? Spectacular with  Puff- oof" he clutched his nose, glaring at the girl behind Draco. It was only at that moment that the blonde realized what had happened, somewhat horrified by the speed of her reflexes. She had thrown a book at him, right in the face.
"You filthy-" he took out his wand only to realize that Draco was pointing his at him, "Stand down, Zabini"
"Malfoy, are you blind!? She threw a-"
"It slipped!"
"NO, IT DIDN'T-"
"THE THREE OF YOU OUT OF THE TO THE HEADMASTER'S OFFICE"
Hence, the three were standing in front of Snape, who was staring at this with the most annoyed look he could muster. "Mr.Zabini...I suggest you go to the infirmary after this."
The three were standing in a row, Draco in between the two as Zabini was pressing the robes against his nose. They were waiting for Professor Sprout, the librarian had thrown them out and Zabini had marched into Snape's office without announcing, which their headmaster had found extremely bothersome. Draco looked conflicted, somewhat confused, yet amused by the turn of events, he never thought a Hufflepuff had it in them to hit someone, let alone talk back- he learned his lesson though, if he were to ever call her a Puff again, his nose would be next. Y/N on the other hand was not even bothered, she had two plans, though plan A required Malfoy to take her side, if he did not, plan B was simple, accept your fate and hope it's not suspension.
There were three knocks against the door and it opened to reveal a worried Sprout, "Y/N, dear are you okay?" she asked, eying the girl who seemed perfectly alright and then Malfoy who was okay too, but when her eyes landed on  the bleeding boy, she gasped, "What happened to you!?"
"Your little goblin! That's what" he snapped back only for Snape to slam his hand on the desk, "Enough. Narrate the incident."
"Yes professor," Y/N began but stopped when he raised his hand, "Not you. Or Mr.Zabini, Mr.Malfoy, what happened?"
Never had Draco felt so conflicted in his life, on one hand, it was a housemate, on the other, it was well... her. The only person with whom he had not once lost his temper, the only person who had gotten him in trouble two days in a row, the only person who had dared to throw something at him- the only person who had not triggered him once for these past three days. On the other hand, there was Zabini, his loyal....housemate, someone who had been with Draco through thick and thin, one who had helped him with obtaining notes from the Ravenclaws and had helped him with the useless schedule change notice. So, what was he going to do? Remain loyal to his house, or side with a Hufflepuff- one that had possibly claimed his heart...not that he would say that out loud, or accept it, he didn't like her, he was possibly just, amused by her, to say the least. He had been staring at his shoes when Professor Sprout cleared her throat, "Well, what happened, dear?"
"It slipped out of her hand."
"WHAT?" Zabini snapped, glaring at Draco who shrugged, "He had his wand out too, I think L/N was probably scared, and seeing how clumsy she is, she got up to run with her books and one must have hit him in the face-"
"That's NOT what happened!" he growled, only for Y/N to cover and hide behind Draco, muttering, "yes, I was so scared professors." as she gripped onto Draco's arm, peeking from behind him.
"You took your wand out?" Professor Sprout huffed, before Snape could comment, "Dear boy, whatever had happened, why would you take out your wand-"
"But Professor! That's not how it even happened, she threw it first-"
"That's enough. Mr.Malfoy, Ms.L/N, you may leave, make sure I do not see you here for a long time. Professor Sprout and I'd like to have a word with this hooligan."
The two had never run faster in their lives, they were running down the halls, and at some point, he had grabbed her hand and led them outside to the courtyard. They had passed by many students, not that either cared at the moment, their first priority was reaching a safe zone. Coming to a halt near the big tree in the square, the two leaned against the tree, panting, still holding hands. He looked down at her, meeting her gaze, earning a cheeky smile in return. Her face was flushed, cheeks a bright pink, much like his own. He could feel the blood pumping through his veins- he had never felt like this before, this excitement, this thrill.
"You're insane." He breathed out.
"Me?" She gasped, using her other hand to point at him, "I didn't even have time to tell you my plan and you had one that was even better."
The two glared at each other for a moment, before bursting into laughter. This was a moment he would remember for a lifetime.
"Oye what do we have here?" The two instantly looked ahead to find the two ginger prefects standing across the field, their badges shimmering in the sunlight
"Well, Fred, I see a little naughty badger and a slithering snake skipping class."
"You're right George, so what do you suggest we do?" The other seventh year asked, then looked at Y/N, "Whaddaya think Y/N?"
"None of your business, tweedle dee and tweedle dum-" Draco snarled back only to stop when he felt her tug his hand, almost falling on her, "What?' he hissed at her who mouthed "Shut up."
She looked at the twins and smiled, "Sorry, we are just on our way to class."
With that the two walked in the opposite directions, only to stop when their held hands pulled each backward.
"O-oh." She cleared her throat letting go of his hand as he quickly moved his hand away too, "S-sorry." The two stood there, a blushing mess, looking around until George cleared his throat, "Are we gonna stand here all day?"
"Shut up Weasley." He finally snapped back and marched away, she chuckled and waved to the twins before skipping in the opposite direction.
Both of them had different classes at this time, which wasn't an issue, but what he wasn't prepared for was lunch. He had walked only halfway down the corridor to stop before turning the corner, Pansy's shrill echoing across the hall, unleashing her wrath on some poor soul. Was Draco Malfoy ready to face all of this once again?
Nope.
Y/N entered the dining hall, eyes scanning for a specific platinum blonde head until she bumped into someone, "Oh sorry". She looked at the person, fixing her bag over her shoulder, "Sorry Harry."
"Who are you looking for?" He asked, only to receive no response as she continued to walk away, towards her house's table. Maybe he wasn't hungry? She sat down at her usual spot, pouring herself something to drink, stopping when she felt eyes on her. Glancing up she saw Cedric sitting across her, arms crossed over his chest.
"Mr.Diggory?"
"Three days in a row is a new record, isn't it?"
"Well, I thought Hufflepuff needed to freshen up its image."
"Y/N"
"Hey, it wasn't my fault! I was busy being tutored."
"So I've heard."
"Then why am I being interrogated-"
"I wanted to ask if you're okay?"
Slamming her cup down she glared at him, as the people around her silenced, staring at the two before continuing with eating.
"I'm fine."
He let out a sigh in defeat, standing up as he looked around, "Just...don't invest in someone who'll hurt you ...okay? I've done that before and it's... It leaves a mark." With that he walked away, leaving her alone with her thoughts before one of her housemates nudged her, smiling at her as she offered her a bun.

Draco had decided to go to his room, he wanted to be alone right now, and there were many things to think about. Sure, in the heat of the moment he had elaborated a lie to save her, had gotten his closest housemate of a friend in trouble- granted he did start the fight but it's not like the other Slytherins would care about that. To some extent, he had betrayed his own house, his own reputation, and his own family. He lay in bed, it had been hours since he had come here, just thinking about what to do- what could he do? He knew what he had to do, but he didn't want to do it. It had been only a few days, but they had been days that he would remember in bright, warm colours. Though he'd have to go back to the greys now, honestly, he was no longer sure whether he could put up for any longer. Sighing in defeat he turned to his side, closing his eyes as he almost let slumber take over him, but a knock on his door interrupted the sandman's task.
Hesitant he walked over to the dark oak, pondering over it, should he open the door or not? The person at the other end was persistent, however, for a series of knocks erupted, triggering him to slam open the door with a loud, "WHAT!" Only to come face to face with Zabini, a giant band-aid plastered on the bridge of his nose.
"Mind explaining yourself?"
"How is your nose?"
"It's been better. How is your feral friend?"
"No longer my friend."
"Wait, what?" he asked, shoving past the blonde, so the two could talk without the others hearing them. No need to get common folk all riled up. Turning to look at Draco he frowned, "First, you break my nose, then you get me in trouble with Snape- BLOODY SPROUT WAS YELLING AT ME, CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT??"
Chuckling Draco leaned against the closed door, "Well, I've met Y/N, I can imagine it-"
"And now you tell me it's over?" raising an eyebrow at his friend, he clicked his tongue, "What is this about Draco- what is going on? You've been weird as f*** since the start of the year and honestly Pansy was annoying enough, if you plan on turning into her-"
"I'm not turning into her, Zabini, I- look, my time with her was short but sweet and as much as I regret to admit it, I have to end it, for the sake of my house and my - wait, you're not upset with what I've done?" he asked, utterly confused.
"No. I mean I was initially, I wanted to hex her and punch you in the face but then when I was in the infirmary I got to thinking- you've been as a** all year round, and suddenly this feral thing-"
"Her name is Y/N."
"Yes, Y/N L/N, the girl rejected by her own family, turned into a ghost."
"Wait, you know that?"
"You should really listen to school gossip-"
"I'll pass." He spat, "You were saying."
"After you met her, you seemed well...less of an a**."
"Thanks. But, you and I both know how creative our housemates can be...I'd rather have her hate me than...hurt."
"You sure you can handle that, mate?"
"She literally broke your nose."
"Yeah, break her heart. I agree."

Hogwarts
Sunday, May 4, 1997
There’d been a pride shimmering in Draco’s eyes that you’d successfully hidden a memory on your first try. It’d made your chest swell with your own sense of satisfaction. Until he told you that was only the first step. Hiding the memories was one thing, disguising them and redirecting Legilimens to a different part of your brain was another entirely. You needed to distract them with a false memory to whatever they were searching for.
Now, sat on the hill overlooking Hagrid’s hut, you were trying to do just that. You’d always adored the plump little building, and looking down at it and the forest was a great place to relax and clear your head. The cream-colored blooms on the Hawthorns scattered across the ground gave you a whimsical feeling. A mundane Magic, different from the kind swimming through your veins. A childhood Magic.
“Hey..” a smooth voice said uncertainly. He had his hands stuffed into his pockets, shoulders drooped out of awkwardness. He was the same as he’d always been, but a hollowness had taken residence behind his gray eyes.
You gasped, “Cedric-” Avoiding his existence had become a big part of your daily routine. Don’t sit at the Hufflepuff table at meals, don’t look towards the back of the room when you walk into Potions, don’t return to the dorms until after 8 pm. In the blink of an eye, this boy had gone from your every waking moment to rules for every room you entered. It was a wonder you still recognized every line of his face like an old friend.
“I just- I saw you sitting over here and I couldn’t just walk away…You look well.” He stumbled over his words, his normally confident voice dripping with doubt. It strangled your heart.
“So do you,” you said, your voice barely over a whisper.
The breeze drifted between you, rustling his caramel hair. You merely looked at one another, and you knew he was studying you the same way you were him. Studying the changes that had taken place since you’d last spoken. And, looking at him, you realized there was a distinct place in your heart that ached for him. It was near the bottom—as if the weight of the heartbreak had been too heavy to be anywhere else. The heaviness of knowing every crook and cranny of someone now turned strangers.
You swallowed a lump in your throat and motioned to the grass beside you. “Do you..?”
A faint ringing appeared in your ears as he took a half-step backwards. Ambivalence rested in the crease of his brows. “No, I don’t think that’s a good idea F/n…It was good seeing you though.” And then his back was to you, and he was walking away. Just out of reach, forevermore.
Staring at the spot where he’d vanished from view, you thought about how light the pain was now. Where it was once unbearable, the sadness had transformed into a slight stinging—an acknowledgment. “I’m sorry, Ced,” you whispered into the wind.
“F/n?” someone asked. It was Hermione, climbing the hill up from Hagrid’s hut. As usual, her satchel was full of books and seemed to be dragging her down.
“Oh, hey Hermione.” You gestured to her bag. “Do you.. need some help?”
“Oh, no, no, I’ve got it. Just a bit of light reading.” She chuckled as she plopped down beside you, the books landing with a thud. “I don’t mean to pry but, was that Cedric Diggory I saw walking away?”
You took a deep breath and pushed your intwined hands into the Earth, one on top of the other. “Uh, yeah. He was just saying hi I guess..” You looked again to where he’d vanished. A hello followed by yet another goodbye. “Maybe it’s best that’s all it was. You don’t rip off a bandaid just to put it on again.”
“Unless it was crooked the first time,” Hermione remarked, a gentle uptick to the corner of her lips.
“It wasn’t.” You plucked a strand of grass and mindlessly ripped it. “It was perfect, until it was time to take it off. So, maybe, it’s time for me to learn that the sting doesn’t need another one.”
She smiled, and the two of you sat there peacefully for a few minutes. Smoke was rising from the hut now, and in the distance you could hear students chattering and laughing. And you realized Cedric was probably at Quidditch practice—that’s where he’d been heading. And you wondered if he was thinking of you too. And if he was bandaid-less.
“Hermione! F/n!” Harry Potter waved his arm in the air as he walked from the castle; followed by Ron Weasley, Draco, Theo, and Blaise. Now there’s a scene you never thought you’d see.
You and Hermione hurried to your feet. “Did you get to talk to Dumbledore? What did he say?” you asked.
“I did. He wanted me to assure you that the castle is heavily guarded by spells—so you’re safe here—and some Occlumency sessions are at your disposal if you want them. And then he um, he showed me a memory. It was Professor Slughorn’s. He was talking with Voldemort—when he was a student here, I mean—and he was asking Slughorn about a form of rare Magic. But Dumbledore said the memory he showed me was tampered with, and he asked me to get the true memory.”
“How does he expect you to do that? I mean, if Slughorn changed the memory in the first place then it’s something he doesn’t want Dumbledore finding out. He’s not just going to hand it over if you ask,” Hermione said, exasperated. You were beginning to realize this might be her normal state, especially when it came to Harry and Ron.
Harry shrugged. “Dumbledore tasked me with getting close to him and I’ve spent all year doing just that. I guess asking isn’t the worst place to start.”

Monday, May 5, 1997
The next morning when Potions was over, you all hid outside the classroom while Harry stayed behind. The other students gave you odd looks on their way out, but once they spotted Hermione and Ron they seemed to understand. ‘Always something with those three,’ some of them mumbled, shaking their heads.
“Is there something you needed, Harry? Or do you simply enjoy my classroom that much?” You heard Slughorn joke. With your backs against the wall, you could hear all of their conversation without being seen.
“Actually Professor, there is something I was wanting to ask you about. You see, the other day I was in the Library, in the Restricted Section. And I came across something rather odd about a…very rare form of Magic.”
“And what would that be?”
“Well, you see Sir, I can’t quite remember what it was called. But I guess it got me wondering…are there some kinds of Magic you aren’t allowed to teach us?”
“It seems to me, Harry, that your question would be better answered by Professor Snape,” Slughorn dodged. You heard him gathering his things, and your heart began racing. What would he do if he found you all out here, eavesdropping?
“Yes, but um, you see, he and I don’t exactly see eye to eye…well, about anything.” Harry chuckled nervously. “What I mean to say is, well, he’s not like you. He might misunderstand my intentions.”
That was sure to charm the Dark Arts Professor, all he’d wanted all year was Harry’s high regard. Anyone could see that.
Slughorn paused for a moment, then quietly said, “Yes…there can be no light without the dark, and so it is with Magic. Myself, I always strive to live within the light. I suggest you do the same.” His heels clicked on the floor—closer and closer to the door—and every muscle in your back tensed with dread. What you didn’t notice, however, was Draco watching your back and thinking how nice it was to be part of this. To be next to you again.
“Is that what you told Tom Riddle, Sir? When he came asking questions?” Harry asked, and the footsteps stopped abruptly.
“Dumbledore put you up to this, didn’t he?” There was a pause where Harry didn’t answer, then Slughorn raised his voice: “Didn’t he?” His steps sounded again—angry now—and your heart plummeted. He was really leaving this time.
“Fuck, we’ve gotta go. Now,” you said under your breath. Grabbing Draco’s hand and pulling him with you, you ran to the closest door as quietly as you could. Hopefully the others had the right mind to follow.

her quill gripped tightly between her thumb and index finger, she gazed up at the sky through her bedroom window as it bruised into a dark purple, soon becoming so dark, it was a bluish-black. it had been a rather uneventful day— she’d mostly been in her room, only going downstairs a few times for food when she needed it. otherwise, she was sat at her desk, working on the homework her professors at hogwarts had given her for over the summer. she’d been working on one of the excessive amounts of essays professor snape, the school’s potions master, for a few hours at this point, her brain tired, her vision hazy with sleep. her eyelids drooped and her body ached and screamed, longing for her bed, but she knew even if she were to lay down, she wouldn’t have been able to sleep.
she loved her parents, and even loved their little house in the midst of london, and she never took life as a muggle for granted. after all, it was nice every once and awhile to take a step back from the wizarding world, and to see life through the non-magic folk’s eyes. but her heart ached, it yearned for her life back at hogwarts, for her professors, (although, professor snape probably didn’t fall under that list) for her friends, for cedric diggory.
she supposed her boyfriend was the main reason she found sleep so hard to come by now— it had been a whole week since he had last sent her an owl, and undeniably, she began to feel anxious, worried that perhaps something had happened. after all, his last letter had given her absolutely no indication that anything was wrong at all. he’d never gone this long without sending her an owl, so she couldn’t help but fear for the worst. her owl, persephone, had come back a few days ago from cedric’s, no letter attached to her claw, much to her dismay.
cedric certainly seemed to have gotten her letter, so why couldn’t he write her back?
she glanced back down to her parchment, her half-finished essay gazing up at her, and she sighed, tossing her quill back into its ink bottle. she couldn’t possibly do her homework when her mind was this preoccupied— but what else could she do?
she leaned back in her desk chair, lolled her head back, and closed her eyes, her eyelids heavy with worry, stress, exhaustion, all of the above. she could hear the purring of her cat, winston, from close by, felt his soft fur rubbing against her legs as he slithered between them, headbutting her ankles as he begged for attention. she didn’t open her eyes, however, (much to winston’s dismay as he resorted to jumping onto the mattress of her bed, tilting up his chin before tucking it between his paws) at least, not until she heard it.
 clunk.
at first, she thought that perhaps it was just a bug flying into her window, and didn’t think much of it, although the noise had startled her. she settled further back into her desk chair and once again closed her eyes, hoping for some peace and quiet to ease her mind—
 clunk.
she peeled a single eyelid open in question, her brow furrowed. this noise seemed louder than the other, and unless a rather large bug had flown into her window, the chances of it being just that seemed slim to none. she sat up in her chair and blinked, narrowing her eyes as she stared at the window, daring for the noise to sound again.
 clunk.
she was wide awake now, and could see that what had hit her window was not a bug, nor a bird, or anything of the sort— it was a rock. who on earth would be throwing rocks at her window, let alone at this time of night? she rested her palms against the wooden surface of her desk and pushed herself to her feet, taking a peek outside her window and down at the ground below, just as another rock thudded against her window, right near her face, causing her to gasp and jump backwards.
her gaze sharpened and she rushed to her window this time, keem on catching whoever was responsible for interrupting her peace and quiet. she blinked at the silhouette down in her mother’s garden below, unsure if what she was seeing was actually truly there or not. had she drifted off to sleep after all? was she dreaming? she made sure by pinching her skin, and making sure to press into her flesh hard, enough to make her wince.
she blinked. the pain was there, so that had to mean..
she shook her head and unlocked her window before pushing it up and open, leaning over the surface of her desk to peer down at the figure below. “cedric?” she half shouted, half whispered at the boy as he gazed up at her, his lips curved up into a brilliant smile as he waved. “what are you doing— how did you..?” she shook her head again, unsure what to think of this.
“why don’t you come on down here so i can tell you?” he chuckled, and she swore she could see the gleaming in his eyes, even from all the way up where she was. she leaned back into her room to gaze over at the clock on her bedside table, it was a quarter past ten at night. she cocked an eyebrow at this as she leaned back over her desk, over the sill of her window, “do you realize what time it is? my mum and dad will kill me if they catch me sneaking out!”
cedric’s smile only widened, and he, too, cocked an eyebrow up at her. “since when did the time stop us?” he asked in a laugh, and she felt herself flush at memories of sneaking around after hours at hogwarts with cedric, even including the one time they’d been caught by none other than peeves himself, which evidently resulted in mr. filch catching up to them, resulting in their detention. even then, they continued to sneak around at night, not even peeves the poltergeist or raggedy old mr. filch and his second-in-command cat, mrs. norris could stop them.
she sucked her bottom lip and toyed with it between her teeth, and when cedric smiled again and beckoned for her to come down, she knew she wouldn’t be able to say no to him. “let me go grab my coat,” she called down to him, causing him to pump his fist in triumph. she couldn’t suppress a small laugh at this as she leaned back into her bedroom, pulling her window down closed as she drew air back into her chest. her skin warmed at the idea of the boy down below her window— how he’d been able to come out here, alone for that matter, was beyond her. but she couldn’t deny how good it made her feel, to be able to see her boyfriend again.
winston watched as she marched over to her closet and grabbed the her coat she could get her hands on, quick to slip it on over her t-shirt, slipping her feet into her socks and sneakers. persephone, who had been sat on her perch, sleeping up until this point, fluttered her eyes open to investigate the source of the noise. she gave her owl an affectionate pat on the top of the head as she passed by, slowly peeling her bedroom door open and carefully shutting it closed behind her, so as to not disturb her parents, who were sleeping in their room only a few doors down the hallway.
as silent as she could, she crept down the stairway and into the living room, treading carefully on the tips of her toes all the way to her front door, making sure to grab the house keys from the hook before she stepped outside, locking the door behind her. as soon as she had turned around and stuffed her keys into her coat pockets, arms slid around her middle from behind and with a squeal, she was lifted from the ground as cedric twirled her around, his face buried in the crook of her neck. “cedric!” she squeaked when he sat her back down, pushing his chest with her palm.
“what? are you not happy to see me?” he joked, his hands grasping onto her elbows as he drew her near, his hands reaching up to swipe loose strands of her hair away from her face, cupping her cheeks as finally, he took his first, good look at his girlfriend in weeks. it was easy to get lost in cedric’s eyes, a raging sea of blue circling around the pupils, and already, she found herself lost in the current. but she blinked, her palms resting on his chest, “of course i’m happy to see you but.. why didn’t you send an owl?” she asked, her voice sounding sulkier than she intended it to. “do you know how worried i was when persephone came back without a letter?”
cedric pouted, “i couldn’t have possibly sent you a letter without spoiling this surprise,” he sulked, playing with the ends of her hair. “please don’t be mad at cedric, he was just trying to be a good boy,” he pleaded in a high-pitched tone, much resembling one of a house-elf. he jut his bottom lip out further in a pout, blinking rapidly, his eyes much like a puppy’s.
 how could she not laugh?
she pushed at his chest and smiled at the ground, rolling her eyes. “you’re an idiot, cedric diggory,” she giggled as he, too, erupted into a fit of laughter, drawing her into his chest with a hand to the back of her head. “yeah, yeah. i missed you,” he murmured into her ear as her own arms snaked around his waist, basking in his warmth the best she could. she didn’t want to let go of him, she wanted to stay right there, soaking up his warmth in his arms forever. “i missed you too, cedric,” she mumbled into his chest, pulling away just enough so that she could gaze up at him. he smiled back down at her, once again swiping strands of her hair back behind her ear with one hand, the other staying wrapped around her waist.
“you should send pictures more often,” he muttered, the way her skin seemed to grow warmer to the touch at his comment not going unnoticed. he rested his palm on her cheek, the pad of his thumb brushing just beneath her eye. “i miss seeing your pretty face every day, you know.”
again, she flushed— how was it that cedric had such a way with words?
“fine, i’ll keep it in mind,” she replied, her fingers ruffling through the golden brown locks atop his head. “what are you doing here anyway? is there a special occasion?” cedric faked offense, his jaw dropping as he brought a hand to his chest, brow furrowed. “as if i only come to see my girlfriend on special occasions!” he scoffed, grabbing her hand before dragging her along behind him as they set off on the sidewalk. “no, i’ve come to take you on a nighttime stroll! you know, like the ones we take at hogwarts, in case you’ve forgotten..”
it was her turn to furrow her eyebrows, “of course i haven’t forgotten,” she tittered, catching up with him to walk side by side, tucking herself further into his side, grasping his upper arm with her opposite hand. “you could’ve come during the day time you know. could’ve introduced you to my parents, and we would have been able to actually go and do things,” she trailed off, glancing around the streets of london, not a single light to be seen inside of any of the buildings. “everywhere’s closed, you know.”
cedric only shrugged, “that’s alright with me. just wanted to see you.” she narrowed her eyes at him as they walked, “how did you even get out anyway? i thought your father had you constantly on surveillance?” she inquired and cedric chuckled, hands in his pockets. “i have my ways,” was the only answer he gave, and before she could question him further, he began rummaging through his pockets, holding out something wrapped in a napkin to her. “almost forgot, thought you’d like something from our world,” he tittered as she unraveled the napkin, practically melting at the sight of a pumpkin pasty.
“god, i haven’t had one since the train,” she hummed as she took a bite, butting her head against his shoulder while she chewed. “thank you,” she mumbled, muffled by her mouthful of pumpkin pasties. cedric chuckled and nestled in closer to her side, staring down the street ahead of them.
“you know, i haven’t really been in the muggle world much,” he mused as she finished up her treat, rolling up the napkin into a ball and stuffing it into the pocket of her coat to throw away later. she cocked an eyebrow up at him, “you haven’t been to london?” cedric shook his head in reply, “not alone anyways. dad’s always busy with ministry work, and he’d rather die before letting either me or mum out alone.”
she hummed as she, too, gazed out at the street ahead, lit up solely by the street lamps lining it. “well, it’s not much compared to our world, but it has its moments,” she mused, and his smile widened, his hand creeping its way into her pocket, his fingers lacing together with hers before pulling them out from her coat. she glanced down at their now conjoined hands at their sides, heat surging to her cheeks. she blinked away, and she could hear cedric softly laughing beside her, his hand squeezing hers as his other hand reached across both of their bodies to cradle the side of her head, resting his chin on top of it.
“you’re cute when you’re shy,” he murmured, and she swore she had never wanted to punch more than she did now. she suppressed the urge, alas, as he pressed a soft kiss to her temple, the touch of his lips sending her stomach into a frenzy, as though she were being tickled from the inside by the flapping of butterfly wings. “you’re such a flirt,” she grumbled, nestling closer into him. he cocked an eyebrow again, “is that supposed to be a bad thing?”
she rolled her eyes and squeezed his hand again, letting her head rest on his shoulder as they walked, her hand not in his wrapped comfortably around his elbow. for a moment, they walked in silence, simply ravishing each other’s presence.
“you know, there is something i’d like to ask you though,” cedric’s voice broke the silence at last, and she glanced up at him, a furrow in her brow. “sounds serious,” she replied and he pursed his lips, pretending to be serious as he nodded. “you know i’m already your girlfriend, you don’t have to ask me again.”
he laughed at this and shook his head, jutting his hip out to hit hers. “clever,” he tittered, suddenly turning and taking either of her hands, swinging them around playfully. “i just— you know, the quidditch world cup is coming up soon,” he began, and she tilted her head. “i didn’t know that actually..” she trailed off— it was another thing she disliked about returning to her muggle life during break, it was so easy to become out of touch with the wizarding world. “oh. well, now you do,” cedric shrugged, “and, as my father works in the ministry, he was able to score some tickets…”
her eyes twinkled, and cedric blinked as he stared into them, his words trailing off, seemingly held under whatever trance she had put him in. he blinked again, his eyelids fluttering as his gaze cowered to the ground. “and well, he managed to get an extra ticket and, you know, i was wondering if maybe..” he trailed off again and glanced up at her. she smiled, waiting for him to continue. cedric cursed himself mentally— why must she be so pretty that he felt so shy around her all of a sudden? “..do you wanna come with us?”
she couldn’t hold her laughter in anymore, and she flung her arms around his neck, drawing him in so that their lips could surge into one another. cedric was quick to regain his confidence as his arms slithered around her waist, pulling her in even closer to deepen their kiss. she giggled as she pulled away, hands on either side of his face. “by the way you asked, i thought you were trying to propose,” she chuckled and he, too, couldn’t help but laugh. “not yet,” he murmured, smirking at the way she flushed at the comment.
silence fell upon them for another couple of moments, no sound to disturb their peace, save for the beating of either of their hearts. eventually, she rolled onto the tips of her toes to press another sweet kiss to his lips, cupping his cheeks and poking the tip of his nose with her forefinger. “why don’t you stay the night?” she asked, and his irises sparkled. “you can sneak back through my window in the morning and i can introduce you to my parents, you know, the normal way.”
cedric tilted his head, “the normal way?”
she rolled her eyes, “the muggle way.”

Series of Pleasant Firsts - Cedric Diggory
Tumblr media
Pairing : (F/M) || Cedric Diggory x Reader Word Count : 3k Warning : None. Notes : When the walls between love and friendship starts to crumble, will any of them be brave enough to take the leap of faith and tear it to shambles? Idk how to describe this story. It’s just fluff. Thank you for requesting!
She watches as he tries to break his own record at stone skipping with a wide smile. He’s always been so gifted with outdoor activities. Both muggle and wizard sports, he seems to be a master of it. How his cheeks are always tinted with rose colour from the burn of the sun, his skin gleaming from the sheer layer of sweat. Cedric Diggory is a one beautiful boy, indeed.
She misses this. Spending quality time with him, just the two of them. Having separate houses in Hogwarts were starting to create distance between them. It didn’t help either that the friends they made with were not of the same circle. Him with his popular little Miss and Mister Perfect friends while she finds comfort with the more quiet and reserved flock.
“Come and take a dip with me.” Cedric says with a smile, panting as he takes his top off.
“No.” She says short, looking back to her book “I’d rather stay in the dry area, thank you very much.”
“Oh, come on! You’ve even got your swimsuit on, it’d be a shame to not test it in the water.”
She didn’t budge, glueing her eyes to the pages.
“I promise your book will still be here once we’re done.” Cedric says, taking her book away gently as he tosses it to the picnic basket “Besides, you kind of owe it to this lake. Remember how we would always go here every other weekend? It’s been ages since, so you have to take a dip.”
He didn’t let her have another minute of thoughts as he pulled her by the waist, practically dragging her to the body water. Her scream echoes as he throws her in, soaking her entire body with the cold water. She wanted to be angry at him for not giving her the chance to take her cardigan off but it’s hard to stay mad at him. Especially when his eyes glisten as he chortles like this.
Their smiles bloom even wider as she begins to splash water on him. They playfully drown each other until he admits defeat, evidently letting her win just to please her. Now they’re standing close in front of another with smiles still tucks on their lips, making the most of time to study each other’s features.
A lot has changed in him. Cedric was always a beautiful boy and yet somehow he’s grown even more beautiful as if it was ever possible. His jawline is more defined, cheeks more hollow as he lost his baby fat. It was as if his face was sculpted by a Greek God and Goddesses themselves.
“You’re staring.” He says, biting down a smile.
“So do you.”
“Have I ever told you how pretty you are?”
She blushes.
“Any guy would be lucky to have you.”
And there it is. Any guy. Not I would be lucky to have you.
It’s frustrating at times how gentle and tender Cedric’s gesture could lead her on. There are more than a handful occasions where she could have sworn that he sees her more than a best friend. The way he treats her has changed to how he did when they were still children. To admit embarrassedly, she feels like Cedric is treating her like a lady instead of a mere friend.
A lady he wishes to win their heart.
“Let’s not talk about boys, shall we. I have just enough girlfriends chirping in my ears about them at school.” She says with rolled eyes, walking to the edge of the lake “I’d have my head if you too decide to lecture me about them.”
Cedric smiles, amused as he swims further to the middle “Why, what do your friends talk to you about?”
“You know, how everyone is apparently dating everybody else. How they’ve got their first kisses already and how pleasant a date in Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop is. All those sappy things I’m sure your friends are also on about.”
“You say it like it’s a bad thing.” He chuckles lightly “I’m sure they’re not half as bad as you moan them to be.”
“Easy for you to say. You’re always swarmed with beautiful perfect girls who are willing to drop their knickers down for you anytime around the clock. I, on the other hand, am not so lucky with a romantic life.”
“Come on, that’s hardly ever true. I’ve heard a lot of my guy friends talk about you.”
“Well the next time you hear any of them talk about me, do send them my way. I’m tired of waiting for some guy to finally ask me on a date.” She groans, feeling pathetic on herself “I haven’t even had my first kiss yet.”
Cedric raises his brows, “You haven’t had your first kiss?”
“Nope.” She shakes her head, getting off of the lake “Pathetic am I not?”
She walks to their picnic spot, placing her wet cardigan on a tree close by so it could dry. She dries herself with a towel, brows slightly furrows at the sight of Cedric coming out of the lake too. He’s usually not out until the sun’s down.
“I have an idea.” He says, looking quite unsure of himself “But you have to promise me you wouldn’t kill me and throw my body to the lake.”
She raises an eyebrow, “How do you mean?”
“To tell you the truth, I haven’t had my first kiss yet either.” Cedric admits, cheeks looking rosy at the confession “I’ve only lied to my friends so they would get off of my back.”
“Who did you tell them you had your first kiss with?”
“You.”
She went mute.
The flush on her cheeks are probably more crimson than his now. His eyes were still glued on her, intently examining her reaction. For the first time in her life, she’s seen Cedric being this flustered.
“So seeing that we have a common problem and how I had dragged your name into my lie, I was thinking.. Maybe we could just.. You know, have this over with?”
She blinks rapidly, trying to process his words. He’s still standing there, unnerved. His eyes were still anticipating an answer, fingers fidgeting as he waited patiently for a sign.
She asks hesitantly, “You want to.. Kiss me?”
“Only if you’re fine with it.”
She silently pinch herself, trying to make sure that she wasn’t dreaming. Cedric Diggory is really asking her for a kiss. Though his reasoning is plainly based as a friendly favour, she still finds it hard to accept the fact that he wanted to kiss her.
“Alright.”
He grins, sighing in relief, “Brilliant.”
“So how would we do this?”
“I- I don’t know.” He admits, sounding unsure himself “I mean, we’d just.. You know, kiss.”
“Okay. Of course. Right.” She nods timidly, trying to maintain her composure “Should I keep my eyes open? Or would you find it more comfortable if I close them?”
“Open them, please.” He says softly as he takes a step closer, placing her hand on her jawline “I’d like to see your eyes.”
She nods.
It’s getting harder for her to stay relaxed. With every inch he’s closing in, she finds her body to be more rigid, afraid that one wrong movement would make him pull away and change his mind. She wanted this, Godric knows how badly she’s prayed for this. She could only hope that he wouldn’t hear how loud her heart is thumping right now.
“I’m going in, okay?”
She could only reply with a nod.
She closes her eyes as his warm breathing meets her face. Within seconds she could feel Cedric’s soft lips touching hers, gently brushing over each other. She could feel the electricity jolting through her body with every peck. For a first kiss, he surely knows his way around.
“Wow.” He breathed as he pulled away, eyes still closed as if he tried to cling onto the feelings longer “We should’ve done that sooner.”
“Shut up.”
She shoves his shoulder playfully, trying to hide her tomato face.
The kiss would certainly haunt her mind for days, if not months from now.
“So, uh, we’re still friends, right?” Cedric asks, rubbing his nape “I mean, the kiss.. It didn’t change our friendship anyhow, right?”
She bites down the heartbreak, nodding and smiling instead, “Of course.”
“Brilliant.”
Again, she could have sworn she saw the disappointment reflecting on his eyes. As if he was feeling the very same bitterness she’s feeling right now. But as he said it himself, the kiss changes nothing. They’re still friends. Just like they’ve always been.
Just friends.
____
The Hufflepuff boy runs to her, a smile plastered on his face. It seems like he’s been searching for her around the castle with how many beads of sweat trailing his face. His face was slightly red, panting as he tried to control his breathing.
“Hello, there Champion.” She teases, fixing his shawl that was slightly misaligned from all the running “Fancy seeing you here.”
“I’ve been looking for you.” He says in between his pants “You would not believe what has just happened.”
Her brows furrow, intrigued at what he’s saying, “What, what happened?”
“I’ve asked Cho Chang to be my date for the Yule Ball and she said yes!”
The smile on her face starts to dissipate. Her eyes were starting to look blank as she let the words sink in. He’s asked another to be his date. How foolish of her to have expected him to ask her instead.
“That’s brilliant, Ced.” She says with fake excitement, smiling though it could not reach her eyes “I’m very happy for you.”
“Thanks.” He nods, looking proud of himself “I have to be honest with you, I was worried she would’ve said no because I heard Potter was planning to escort her too. Thank Merlin she chose me instead.”
She nods, still forcing a smile, “Good for you, Ced.”
The rest of his words went in and out of her ear with no remark. Only becoming a background noise she tries so hard to quiet down, feeling suffocated at its ringing. Though he’s always been surrounded with girls, there has never been one Cedric was evidently interested in. Everyone just comes and goes, becoming one of the many names mentioned in his stories.
She’s always known that one day or another she would have to face the day when he would find a girl and have his world gravitate towards her. Leaving her alone as a lost satellite. No matter how much she wanted him to know that he is her sun, she knows that in his universe, she was just another passing star.
“So, uh, how about you? You’re going with McLaggen, so I’ve heard.” Cedric says, bursting her bubble back to reality “I didn’t know you two are close.”
“No, no we’re not.” She says flatly, not looking at him “He’d asked me but I haven’t said yes. I was waiting for someone else but I supposed I’ve hanged McLaggen for too long, I should give his answer now.”
“Wait, you were waiting for someone else?” Cedric asked, stopping their pace “Who?”
“It doesn’t matter, Ced.”
The sparkle on his eyes dulls down as the puzzle clicks, “You were waiting for me, weren’t you?”
“Just forget it. It’s not like we owe each other anything.” She says harshly, her tone coming out a little bit more rude than she intended “Besides, not everything has to be shared with a friend.”
Cedric’s eyebrows rose, looking offended, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I’m just saying,” She turns to see him, hands balled into a fist as she tries to control her disappointment that is now transforming into anger “We should stop gatekeeping each other's feelings because it’s getting toxic.”
Cedric was appalled. He doesn’t understand where all her anger was coming from. If anything, he should be the one to be angry at her. She was the one who’s gotten a date first before him. He should be the one saying all these hurtful truths.
“Consider said feelings gone. From now on we don’t know each other.”
She nods, holding in the tears threatening from her eyes, “Done.”
____
Ever since their fallout about their Yule Ball date, neither of the two has exchanged a word to another. Still, that does not mean he doesn’t get her full support through his tasks. Her worry was growing deeper and deeper with each task passed. Though Cedric won first place on the second task, knowing how Harry barely got out of the water in time was enough of a nightmare for her to live with.
Screw their argument, she thought. She’d rather have him break her heart daily than to live with the thought of him away, not knowing if he was safe or not. If she has to live the rest of her life with him being oblivious of her feelings then so be it. Any of that would be better than not being able to comfort him when he’s in trouble.
And so she finds herself struggling to meet Cedric. She squeezed herself into the crowd of Champions and their supporters but the blond boy was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he’s gone elsewhere right after the second task score announcement was made. Helped Cho to get warm or something.
But just before her heart turns desperate, she hears her name being called.
She could recognise his voice anywhere, anytime. Before she could call him back, Cedric has already wrapped his arms around her, engulfing her in a big wet hug as he pulls her close. Her body heat is his only source of warmth, gritting his teeth in coldness as he rests his head on the crook of her neck.
“I was so worried they’d taken you to the lake.” He says, frantically examining her face “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine. It’s you I’m worried about!”
“Merlin.” Cedric sighs in relief, pulling her back close to his chest “They’re trying to get me killed, for real. If not from the tasks then from a heart attack, I swear it.”
“Don’t say things like that.” She protested, feeling scared of the thought “You know I hate it.”
Cedric couldn’t find a word to utter. Instead he just chuckles lightly, tightening his embrace on her. Helga knows how much he misses having her in his arms. He peppers her forehead with kisses, trying to ease both of their worries away.
She didn’t know what happened but the waves of emotions made her cry. The worry, the stress, and frustration of not being able to be there with him has driven her crazy. Now that he’s here, giving her the very embrace she’s longed for, she couldn’t help but to shed a tear or two.
“Hey, listen,” Cedric says, breaking the hug as cups her face, gazing on her eyes deeply “I know that things haven’t been pretty lately and I know I have the bigger part at fault in that, but I really can’t spend another day without you anymore. If you want to hate me, then hate me but hate me close so I can still see and touch you.”
“Ced-”
“No, I’m not done.” He cuts fast, still frantic from the jolt of adrenaline “I know we’ve been friends for as long as I can remember but I’m willing to burn that bridge and build another one with you. I don’t want us to be just friends anymore. I want you to continue being my first. My first friend, my first kiss, my first heartbreak, everything.”
She cries, nodding to his words.
“And if you’d have me, I’d try my best to be your very last. I know we’re still young but being there in the lake- Screw it.”
Spending no other second, he finally seals their lips. The very same feelings they felt years ago when they shared their first kiss by the lake washes over them. In fact, this time the feelings were magnified. Their despair and crave for one another has certainly enhanced their hunger.
She finds herself melting under his touch. Cedric’s kiss was more demanding than she last remembered them. This time he kisses her with greed, trying to make sure that she knows just how aching he is without her. He wanted her to know that she is the only remedy to his thirst.
“Wait,” She says as she breaks the kiss, earning a confused and disappointed look from him “What about Cho?”
“She understands.”
Cedric paid no mind to his words before continuing the kiss. He has certainly found something new he hates most in this entire universe- being interrupted as they kiss.
“Wait, Ced.”
Cedric lets out a huff of exasperation, “What? What is it this time?”
“Mr. Diggory.” An authoritarian voice calls from behind. Cedric has to bite the embarrassment down when he turns to see Professor McGonnagal eyeing them two with her strict eyes “You are expected at the Headmaster’s room along with the other Champions. I’m sure the two of you can continue your business later.”
Cedric nods, pursing his lips in embarrassment, “Yes, Professor.”
Professor McGonnagal gives one last nod before turning her heels to go into the castle.
She has to bite down her laughter as Cedric turns back to see her. Her cheeks were pink, embarrassed yet feeling blissful at the same time.
“I have to go now.” Cedric says softly, smiling yet looking like he wanted to stay “I’ll find you once I’m done.”
She nods, grinning, “Alright.”
“I’ll come back to that.” He says as he plants a chaste kiss to her lips “And that.”
“Just go.” She says with a giggle, smiling in between his kisses.
Cedric smiles, pulling her into another kiss before finally walking away.
She watches as his figure slowly drifts away. Her heart is still swelling from the new reality she’s trying so hard to comprehend. She bites her lower lip, trying to prevent herself from grinning like a lunatic. From then on, she knows that whatever first she has to do, she’s sure that they would only be a series of pleasant firsts with him.

Chapter Seven: Dinner & Discovery

Now dinner time in the great hall the smell of the food wafts into your nostrils, you smell steaks, chicken, and even lamb. You walk to your Hufflepuff table and sit by your decent friend Cedric Diggory.
"[First Name]!" He smiles at you as you sit down but for some reason, it makes you aggravated. You take your seat beside him.
"Cedric." You reply, you reach your hand for some of the food before you and grab a small plate of lamb chops, a salad, and a nice bowl of freshly cut fruit. You begin to eat when the boy beside you speaks again.
"How's your day been?" Cedric asks, a small smile on his face as he speaks to you.
"Fine." You reply blankly.
His face deadpans at your lame reply, a small frown forming on his face. He nods then returns to eating his food.
Once he looks away you glance to the staff table where the teachers sit. Your eyes instantly fall on Professor Snape. You smile at him and your cheeks begin to heat up again. You can't help the giddy feeling in your chest—almost butterflies, perhaps that is what it is.
Around 30 more minutes pass of you staring at the Professor, shockingly he hasn't noticed. Soon enough students start to flee the great hall—finishing their dinner. When you go to stand you glance over to the staff table once more, Snape has already left. Your thoughts are shattered when you feel a hand on your shoulder, you turn around to see him standing there.
"Ms. [Last Name]." He speaks, and your face instantly flushes from something as small as his words.
"You have a potion to get to work on, remember?" His tone almost sounds teasing.
You nod.
"Then let us go." His hand remains on your shoulder for a brief period before letting go—almost hesitant.
The two of you soon reach the now empty potions classroom—the cold eerie sound of nothing off puts you but you can't help but feel excited.
You walk to the same dome-like room as you did the day prior, twisting in the key and striking on the gas for the flame to emerge. Once the blood-replenishing brew is back to bubbling you continue to add your ingredients. Since you're brewing with a large cauldron you have to triple the ingredients, yesterday you added the first batch and today is when you add the second. You pour in another gallon of the standard potioning water then walk to the supply cabinet in the other room to grab the other two ingredients. Once you reach the cubby you grab the powdered unicorn horn and stewed mandrake. You then return to the dome room and add the two ingredients to the bubbling cauldron.
While working you can't help to think of the man who sits a few feet from you, you can hear the sound of the quill scratching the parchment, and the clink of the ink jar every time the feather runs out. But the sound that distracts you the most was his grunts. Oh, how you wish you could make him make those noises.
"Ms. [Last Name]?"
You flinch and snap out of your thoughts at the sound of his voice. "Yes, Professor?"
A moment of silence passes before he speaks again.
"Are you done with the second addition to the potion?"
You nod.
"Good, come here." He motions with two fingers for you to approach.
You can feel heat rush to your cheeks and you do as told, walking closer to him and then stopping in front of him. Before you can say another word he grabs your upper forearm and tugs you closer to him. He then undoes your bandages.
"Looks like your wounds have healed." He states blankly but there is a hint of mischief in his eyes—as if he is plotting something.
"Tell me, Ms. [Last Name], did you get any of the Amorentia potion in the cuts when it first happened?" His tone almost sounds knowing.
"Yes sir, I did." You reply.
He smirks, "And tell me, who have you been obsessive over? Im sure the potion must've worked since it looked perfect when you brewed it."
Your eyes widen a bit in shock, did he know?
"Yes." You hear from the man before you.
"I'm sorry sir-"
He cuts you off, "Don't apologize." You still see a smirk on his face, he stands, his 6'1 figure looming over you, his grip on your arm not loosening.
"Tell me, Ms. [Last Name]. What has it been like fantasying over me?"
You feel your heat flushes as you realize that he does in fact know, but the question is how?
You hear a small chuckle from him. "I'm a master at all arts, you think at one point I wouldn't learn legilimency?"
Shit.
"I didn't expect you to see my thoughts, sir..." You mumble, still looking him in the eyes, your chest filled with the same anticipation and excitement from before—except—now there is a hint of fear.
"Well a student in my class was brewing Amorentia and it seeped into her veins, you expected me not to look?"
"Well-"
"Shush." He snaps.
Your lips shut instantly and you look at him nervously, he steps a bit closer, letting go of your arm and he cups you cheek so you're looking up at him again.
"Tell me, [First Name], did you have these thoughts prior to the potion?"
You hesitate but nod, no point in lying if he already knows.
He smirks, his hand still on your cheek as he connects your lips in a deep and passionate kiss. You're shocked but kiss back, your hands moving to his shoulders before he pulls away.
"Why did you stop?" You ask, a bit disappointed.
He smirks before pecking your forehead.
"You're dismissed, Ms. [Last Name.]" Are his final words to you before he motions for you to leave.
