How to dress as your favorite PriPara idols
PriPara, the second generation of the Pretty series, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! The show aired on TV Tokyo from the summer of 2014 to 2017 and had a fourth season called Idol Time PriPara. The anime series follows the life and times of Laala Manaka, a little girl who dreams of becoming the best PriPara idol.
In honor of PriPara's 10th anniversary, PriPara fans from all over the world are celebrating by cosplaying their favorite characters. Since you are itching to become one of your favorite PriPara characters, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorites. Time to do something our Meganee-san and Meganii-san don't want you to do.
Tumblr media
As Laala Manaka - Laala Manaka is the star of the PriPara series. She's an elementary-grade little girl who dreams of becoming the best PriPara idol. Her catchphrase is "Kashikoma!" To become Laala, all it takes is an extremely long light-purple hairdo and then give it some twin-tails to match Laala's look. It's complicated but if you did it, you're now Laala Manaka. Be sure to work on whatever costumes she wore in the series and also the Kashkoma pose. Kashkoma!
As Mirei Minami - Mirei Minami was a smart-minded student and the head of the school's disciplinary committee until she got promoted to student council president in the second season. She's known for her strict personality but in PriPara, she is a cute idol with a pop personality. Her catchphrase is "Pop Step Getchu". If you’re looking to cosplay Mirei, you’ll need a midsize yellow wig. You’ll need to add some triangular "cat ear" buns to the top (rubber bands work great for that), and then attach ribbons: blue on your right, and red on your left. Once you’ve got the hair right, it’s time for the finishing touch: the Pop Step Getchu pose! You're now Mirei, pri!
As Sophy Hojo - Sophy Hojo may be a highly-talented idol who has an intense fanbase dedicated to staying by her until the end of time, but she's usually lethargic in her daily life, even in PriPara. However, when she eats "red flash", which is a different term for umeboshi, Sophy reveals her cool self. Don't "pushu" yourself too hard because a long red wig is all you need to be Sophy.
As Dorothy West - Dorothy West is one of the West twins who is known for her tomboyish attitude, Dorothy's catchphrase is "Tension MAX". To become Dorothy, you'll need a short sky-blue wig and then give it the braids to your right. With the hairstyle settled, you're now Dorothy West. Feel free to decide on the outfits she wore.
As Reona West - Reona West, one of the West twins, is a rather enigmatic person who is shy but often matches the actions of her (his?) twin sister Dorothy. Unlike Dorothy, who has a tomboyish attitude, Reona is more relaxed. And while Dorothy's catchphrase is "Tension MAX", Reona's is "Tension Relax", although she (he?) often just says "relax" when Dorothy says "tension max." To become Reona, you'll need a short pink wig with braids to your left.
As Sion Todo - Sion Todo was originally a Go champion who stopped playing Go and became a PriPara idol, proving that no one can stop her. To become Sion, first, you'll need long dark purple hair and give it a side ponytail to your right to match her hairstyle. With you as Sion, feel free to decide on her outfits. Let's ¡Go!
As Falulu - Falulu is a mysterious vocal doll lurking around PriPara but thanks to the girls, Falulu can freely become herself. To become Falulu, you'll need an extremely long bright lime green wig. With the wig ready, here comes the extremely difficult part; replicating Falulu's hairstyle. Either the baguette-shaped hairstyle when she was purely a vocal doll or the ultra-wavy quad twin-tails when she became a free girl, replicating either of her hairstyles is an arduous task. If you're herculean enough, you're now officially Falulu. Feel free to decide on the outfits she wore in the show.
As Cosmo Hojo - Cosmo Hojo is Sophy's big sister who is a renowned dress designer. To become Cosmo, you'll need a sky-blue short wig and then fix it to match Cosmo's hairstyle. With Cosmo your gal, feel free to decide which of the costumes she wore in the show.
As Aroma Kurosu - Aroma Kurosu is one of the Aromageddon duo with a penchant for conjuring devilish acts. Just long brown hair should do the trick and then tinker it to match Aroma's hairstyles. With Aroma's your girl, feel free to decide on the outfits she wore in the show. A Gaaruru plush is optional.
As Mikan Shiratama - Mikan Shiratama is one of the Aromageddon duo who is an angel idol who loves eating steamed buns. All you need is a long light reddish hairdo for this one, then give it the ponytail to match Mikan's hairstyle. You're now officially Mikan, the heaven-sent but hell-bent member of Aromageddon. Feel free to decide on the outfits she wore in the show. A Gaaruru plush is optional, although it's hard to decide which of you will be holding little Gaaruru.
As Hibiki Shikyoin - Hibiki Shikyoin is a high-profile PriPara idol with a prince-like personality whose ultimate goal is to radically change PriPara and ruthlessly cut off those who stand in the way, especially Laala Manaka. To become Hibiki, all you need is light grayish short hair. That's it. Then, decide on whatever fancy outfits Hibiki wore in the show.
As Fuwari Midorikaze - Fuwari Midorikaze is a transfer student from Europara who was invited by Hibiki Shikyoin to come to Japan. At first, she never got the chance to debut in PriPara because she did not fit the image of any existing brand but thanks to Cosmo Hojo, she debuted under her Coco Flower brand without problems. Her relationship with Hibiki is complicated. To become Fuwari, all you need is a short midsize blond wig and then do the complicated braids at the top of the hairstyle. Sounds challenging but if you can pull it off, you'll be Fuwari Midorikaze in no time. Good luck with the costume choice.
As Ajimi Kiki - Ajimi Kiki is the art class teacher and she's Hibiki's worst nightmare. Her catchphrase is "Da Vinci!" To become Ajimi, you'll need an extra-long pink wig and then go for the braided twin-tail approach to replicate Ajimi's hairstyle. Don't forget her glasses! With that settled, you're now Ajimi Kiki. Just don't approach the nearest Hibiki Shikyoin cosplayer because "all hell breaks loose" within contact. DA VINCI!!!
As Non Manaka - Non Manaka is Laala Manaka's little sister. In Season 3, with the competition to become Divine Idols in full swing, Non joined the fray in the form of the TRIANGLE unit consisting of Kanon, Junon, and Pinon. Sadly, the TRIANGLE unit is nothing but a scam busted and Non starts over at PriPara...by finding proper friends worthy of creating her own unit. To become Non, all you need is an extremely long light-purple wig and then give it the ponytail to match Non's look. Feel free to choose any of the costumes she wore in the show. Just be sure to have fun and enjoy your time!
As Chili Tsukikawa - Chili Tsukikawa may be a shy girl living with a wealthy family but in PriPara, she's a high-and-mighty idol who demands respect. To become Chili, all you need is a long dark green wig. With the wig ready, prepare for the hard parts because of the noodle-ish hairstyle with the rounded braided bits on the sides. With the complicating parts settled you're now Chili Tsukikawa.
As Pepper Taiyou - Pepper is a jungle idol who came from Aprika and was raised by lions. To become Pepper, you'll need a rather short midsize sand-colored wig and then pepper it to match Pepper's hairstyle. Pun intended. You'll become the jungle idol Pepper in no time and the outfits she wore are up to you. Just don't eat the Scout Mascots, please.
As Jewlie - Posing as Jururu, the little baby Laala Manaka adopted and raised, Jewlie is of course the legendary PriPara goddess. Prepare the extremely long light green wig because replicating Jewlie's hairstyle is going to be a long day. The front parts have the look of a Basset Hound's ears with the round part at the top. Below, the braids will pose the biggest challenge while replicating Jewlie's hairstyle. This is going to be the toughest task if you want to cosplay as the PriPara goddess Jewlie but have faith. You can do this.
As Janis - Janis is a PriPara goddess just like Jewlie but both are in the middle of a sibling strife. To prove Jewlie wrong, Janis assists the Non Sugar team in the hopes of crushing the competition and Jewlie herself. Just like Jewlie, expect extreme difficulty if you're to replicate Janis' hairstyle with the extremely long white wig. The front parts have the look of a Basset Hound's ears with the round part at the top. Don't forget the braids below.
As Yui Yumekawa - Yui Yumekawa is a sixth grader at the Avocado Private Academy who dreams of becoming the best idol in the hopes of surpassing her brother Shogo. Teaming up with Laala Manaka, they're on a quest to reshape the Paparajuku PriPara by all means. To become Yui Yumekawa, all you need is a long light blond wig and then give it some short twisted twintails. Yumekawa! You're now Yui Yumekawa!
As Nino Nijiiro - Nino Nijiiro is the Avocado Private Academy's star athlete with a can-do spirit. She became a PriPara idol in the hopes of surpassing Sion Todo. Becoming Nino requires a turquoise-colored wig that is not too short and not too long. Just the right size. Then give it a light green gradient while matching Nino's hairstyle. A big yellow ribbon is a must!
As Michiru Kouda - Michiru Kouda is a second-year middle schooler whose luck often runs out. Thanks to the Gaarmageddon antics, she enters PriPara as Miichiru, the princess of the so-called long-lost kingdom of Puu and known for her high-and-mighty attitude. If you want to cosplay as Michiru Kouda, you will need a very long gray wig, which must be at least waist-length. You should braid the front side of the wig and style it to match Michiru's hairstyle. You can also choose to dress up in any of the outfits she wore in the series.
As Shuka Hanazono - Shuka Hanazono, the primadonna who believes “Idol Time is Money,” runs a Rich Venus shop in Paparajuku’s PriPara. She sees Yui Yumekawa as her arch-nemesis and while she is the little sister of the legendary idol Mia Hanazono, Shuka has more priority than her big sister. If you’re going to cosplay as Shuka, all you’ll need is a super long dark purple wig, and then give it the bangs to match Shuka’s hairstyle. Her outfits are all over the place, so pick the one you like the best.
As Falala A Larm - Falala A Larm is the mysterious goddess who pops up during the concert's Super Idol Time segment where she invites the idols to the Time Garden. She usually continues to sleep in the clock tower of Paparajuku's PriPara but she can be only awakened when the clock's hands move by the power of the idols' stage performances. To become Falala, all you need is an extremely long light green wig, give it the twin-tail look, and twirl the bottom half of each tail. This is extremely tricky but if you can pull it off, you'll become Falala A Larm.
As Garara S Leep - Garara S Leep is also a mysterious goddess who resembles Falala A Larm but she's the villainess who is responsible for putting Falala to sleep and the destruction of the ancient PriPara that was in present-day Paparajuku a long time ago with her scout mascot, Pakku. Becoming Garara requires an extremely long dark blue wig. That's the first step. The difficult bits involve giving it a twin-tail look and twirling the bottom half of each tail.
As Amari Katasumi - Amari Katasumi is an average high-school girl doing average things until her fateful encounter with Laala Manaka dragged her to Idol Land. In the past, she loved PriPara, but now, she's up to save it, although unsure of what to do around Idol Land. The first thing you’ll need for your Amari Katasumi cosplay is a long, light turquoise wig. Her hairstyle is not for the faint of heart. Amari’s twin tails have a wrap-around bottom half on each tail. If you can pull that off, you’re basically there. Don't forget the pink ribbon to your top left. The rest is just a matter of choosing the right costume. Whatever you do, don’t forget to have fun!
And there you have it. How to be one of your favorite PriPara idols. If you’re a fan of PriPara, then you’ve probably spent some time dreaming about becoming one of your favorite idols. Well, here’s how you do it: pick a character, study their hairstyles, and then decide which of their costumes you want to wear.
Goodbye and Happy 10th Anniversary to the world of PriPara!
✌️😉

🍭 Lollipop Machete 🗡
In honor of Lollipop Chainsaw RePop releasing a month from now, I have decided to draw my oc Elena Rivera as Juliet Starling.
In the drawing, instead of having the pink lollipop and chainsaw that Juliet has, I gave Elena a Puerto Rican lollipop and a (fake) machete since she is Puerto Rican herself. Elena (as a superhero) has a magical machete as a weapon and her alias is even "La Machetera", so I think a machete made more sense for her than a chainsaw.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elena cosplaying as a video game character is canon/lore accurate, by the way! This drawing takes place in the Halloween of 2019, where Elena is 19 years old (about 2 years before she becomes a superhero in the summer of 2022). For Halloween that year, she dressed up as Juliet since she liked the character when the game first released in 2012 (She played it in early 2013 after begging her parents for it). In this drawing, Elena is posing and looking at the camera because her and the friends she had in high school were having a fun Halloween photoshoot when they were hanging out together! This was the last time Elena celebrated Halloween. Ever since, she has not dressed up for Halloween, but she plans on maybe doing it again some time and having fun with her new superhero friends.
Another Elena lore fact: Her hair in here looks pretty similar to her "trademark" hairstyle because 2019 was the year she really started to experiment with her hair and try out new styles! There's a short backstory of why she wanted to have this type of hairstyle. When Elena was 14 years old, she began to listen to more of Iris Chacón's music (a Puerto Rican artist). She actually knew who Chacón was since she was younger, but she didn't really listen to any of her songs. The only ones she knew were "Caramelo y Chocolate" and "Tu Boquita." But then in 2014 she knew more of her songs and she liked them too! One time on the internet, she stumbled upon and old picture of Iris Chacón with a unique hairstyle she never saw before. (The picture below)
Tumblr media
She thought this hairstyle was very interesting and she wanted to try it out herself! She has already been wanting to try out new things with her hair at 14, but her mom wouldn't really let her. So she had to try her best to style her hair in a similar way with only a brush, some hair ties and hair clips. Obviously it could've looked better, but she tried her best and liked how it came out! So she sometimes would wear it to school and to public spaces. (⬇️ 14-year-old Elena)
Tumblr media
Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now! It was really fun sharing some oc art as well as some more information on my character! I really love giving my ocs small and "insignificant" pieces of lore, backstory, context and information. Why? Because it gives them more personality and humanizes them more!
Also I know that this drawing I shared could've been a bit better in some ways (like the hand holding the machete, for example), and that shading isn't really my thing, but I'm still learning and practicing! 💖 (⬇️un-shaded version)

38. Should've done this at the beginning of the year, but anyway...
What Happened In the Past Year???
How many relationships were you in?
None. I don't think I'm a relationship person at all.
What did you do for Valentine's day?
I don't really remember nor do I celebrate it. I think that was a day after I came back from Germany, so probably just adjusting to life back here.
Did you recieve your driver's license?
Lol no, I actually renewed it. It's been 10 years since I got it.
Did you graduate high school?
Nope. Did that in 2014.
Did you graduate college?
Not that either. Done with college in 2020.
Did you move out on your own?
I'm already more or less moved out on my own.
Did you get arrested?
Nope.
Did you get a speeding ticket?
Nope.
What was the best thing you got for Christmas?
I don't actually remember what I got. Tbh, we don't really exchange gifts on Christmas here, we do it for New Year's sometimes and sometimes not even then.
Did you fall in love?
Nah.
Did you become an aunt or an uncle?
Kind of, just not directly. Two of my cousins had babies in 2023.
Did you have a baby?
Absolutely not.
Did you get engaged?
Nope.
Did you get married?
Nope.
Did someone close to you die?
Luckily, no.
How many funerals did you go to?
None.
How many weddings?
No weddings either.
Did you turn 18?
Nope. I turned 28 ;-;
Did you turn 21?
Nope.
Did you turn 30?
Thankfully no, but it's coming.
Did you have a car accident?
Nope.
Were you old enough to vote this year?
Yes, and I did.
How many jobs did you have throughout the year?
Hmm, I switched from my old job to a better one and had 2-3 extra gigs on top. Ugh, but I seriously need a break from all the work.
Did you get a new pet?
No new ones.
Did you get cheated on?
Nope.
Did you cheat on someone?
Nooooo.
Did you start at a new school?
No.
Did you make any new friends?
Not friends, but I met quite a few new people.
Did you get a new car?
Yes, actually. Well, it's not new, but I finally got my parents' old car so now I can drive instead of always using public transport which largely sucks. I got it at the very end of the year, in December, so it's still all pretty fresh.
Did you drastically change your hairstyle?
Yes, I cut my very long hair very short. And at the beginning of the year I accidentally dyed it black so had to bleach it again to dye it purple. Quite a few changes lol
Did you go out of the country?
Yup, a few times.
Did you keep your last New Year's resolution?
I never make those.
What was the best movie you saw in theaters?
Hmm, I think I only saw Barbie and Oppenheimer, so in that case I pick Barbie. I really enjoyed it, and I really loved how it was basically this huge event we all participated in.
What was the best book you read?
I'm not sure when I read Sayaka Murata's Earthlings and Convenience Store Woman, but those two books changed my outlook on everything.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
Translating a book. I'm really glad that happened, but I guess it's a testament to my deteriorating mental health that I didn't feel nearly as proud and happy about it as I thought I would when I saw it published. Mila from 2/3 years ago would be so thrilled. And I am, just, I don't know, 2023 wasn't my year.
What was the best cd released this year?
CD? Well if you mean album, personally, Jimin's Face was my favourite, along with Agust D's D-Day.
Did you get a new tattoo?
No, but I am seriously considering it.
A new piercing?
Yup, in September.
Are you still dating the same person you dated at the start of the year?
Yes, which is no one.

Yelled "Happy New Year!" and hugged my sister.
What the Future Year Has In Store
What are you most looking forward to in the New Year?
Concerts, mostly. Hopefully I will plan a good trip or two as well. And idk, tbh I don't look forward to all that much, 2023 left me feeling pretty meh and 2024 didn't have a promising start at all.
But I am making some necessary changes, so we'll see how that goes.
Are you getting married this year?
Lol.
Are you expecting a child?
Definitely not.
Will you be getting a new job?
I don't have such plans, but who knows what the future holds.
Will you be starting a new school?
I'm thinking of finding a language school that offers Japanese once I'm done with German.
Will you be moving to a new place?
Nah.
Will you get your driver's license this year?
No, I have it already.
Will you turn 18?
Way past that sadly.
Will you turn 21?
And that.
Will you turn 25?
And that.
Will you turn 30?
Not yet.
Will you turn 40?
Nope.
Are you going on a vacation this year?
I am planning to, yes. I already feel that I'm going to lose my mind if I don't go anywhere soon.
What movie are you most looking forward to coming out this year?
I'm not sure, maybe Dune?
What book?
None specific, I just want to finally get through more of my list.
What music album?
Hobi's Hope on the Street and whatever Jin releases!
Do you expect to find love this year?
Definitely not.
Did you make a New Year's resolution?
Not really, but there are things I want to do. I just don't want to call them New Year's resolutions because I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to stick to them then.
Have you kept it so far?
Refer to above.
Will you be going to a wedding this year?
Maybe? I have no idea yet.
Will you get a new car?
Not anytime soon, I think.
Will you buy a house this year?
Lol no.
Do you expect to be with the same person at the end of the year?
Not exactly the same, no. Even if changes are small, I don't think I'm exactly the same at the end of each year.
Are you starting the year off single?
As always.
What do you most want to happen this year?
I want my mental health to improve, that's probably number one thing.
What are you most excited about this year?
Concerts I'm going to.

Happy Pride Month to everyone, especially those whose identities aren’t often included in pride celebrations!  Big love to all of you!!   (~ ̄▽ ̄)~ ♥♥ I think I’m comfortable enough to share my coming out story to the world.  Its not full of homophobia or dark thoughts like a lot of other folks, but I feel like it’s just as important to share the stories of those who had the support system that they were afraid that they wouldn’t have.  There are people out there who can support you!  There are people out there who love you!  Coming out is scary, but don’t automatically jump to the idea that no one will accept you because that’s the only story you’ve ever heard.
I came out in February of 2014, after weeks of questioning and experimentation to figure out what labels fit me best.  At this point in my life I was transitioning from 8th grade to 9th grade, already hitting the strongest point in my depression.  I wasn’t eating, I felt terrible, my mental state was breaking and I didn’t know how to feel anymore.
I came out to my friends first, figuring if they wouldn’t understand there would be no way my parents could.  I remember sending out that text message through instagram.  I was just so scared because I’ve heard so many stories of people coming out and being shunned, tossed aside, or even disowned for being LGBT+.  I was still very new to the community as well, and with no other family close to me at the time the last thing I wanted was for something like that to happen.
But to my surprise, they understood!  They were supportive and cheered me on!  And they sat there with me over text messaging just going back and forth while I talked to them about what it would be like for me to be who I wanted to be.  I told them about my mental health as well, explaining the causes for me feeling comfortable as being bigender.  I told them about how I wasn’t comfortable with my past self, and that I wanted to change for the better so that I didn’t have to suffer mentally anymore.  And then my friend group grew more and more and they were there to support every step of my recovery.
A day or two after I came out to them, I came out to my parents.  I wrote my mom an email, figuring she would be the hardest to get through first.  I want to share a little of what she told me in the email because it still makes me tear up with joy going back and rereading it:
“ Thank you thank you for confiding in me.  I am honored that you felt comfortable coming to me. First though, let me tell you I love you.  I will love you and respect you no matter what, whether you are a guy a girl or purple and brown spots, you are my kid and I was blessed that you came into my life. This is a very difficult time in your life.  It absolutely normal to question your gender and maybe try being the other for awhile.  If dressing and looking gender neutral helps you feel more confident, then fine.  Let me know the types of clothing or hairstyle and we’ll go.  You have a rough couple of years coming up with high school and i want you to feel and do what you need to get through it.  This is something that will take time to decide.  It won’t happen over night and while one day you might be ok with how you look, your body will through a wrench and change some more. These years are not easy!  I remember. Just grin a bear it and do your best.  But I will be there for you. Do not doubt it. “
A few days later I came out to my dad.  We took a drive around the area and talked things over, and he brought me to a small diner where we just relaxed and had pie together.  He told me I needed to start being more open with things, and to tell people when something was wrong.  But you know?  He was there to dry my tears and tell me silly jokes to make me feel better. The first step was cutting my hair short.  I pulled out a few haircuts that I liked and my mum took me to the best LGBT+ friendly barber she could find.  The lady was so kind and gave me advice on how different styles would work with my hair.  I remember laughing at the large pile of fluff on the ground as my shoulder length hair was cut short.  It was so freeing!  And looking into the mirror I felt like an entirely new person! I went to therapy not long afterwards, another step to my recovery.  My first therapist was so kind and understanding, and I shared with her so many thoughts that I just couldn’t speak about without sobbing.  She would give me a small notebook to write in in case I couldn’t talk, and she would smile with the patience of a parent as I vented my thoughts out to her.  Before I had switched to a psychiatrist she gave me a small stress toy with a story behind it.  I gave her the biggest hug because I felt so blessed to have her in my life. A few months down the line and I bought my first binder.  I was so cheery!  I wore it the whole day, just smiling to myself because I finally felt comfortable in my body.  I took so many photos that day, just me smiling wearing my first binder.
I didn’t really have to come out to either of my brothers.  I was comfortable with my family using my birth name, but had just requested that they call me Lukas in public.  Even throughout high school the worse I ever experienced were a group of upperclassmen guys who would harass my friends and I during lunch.  We brought it up to my principal and he walked with us to lunch the next day and dragged the group of guys all the way across the cafeteria so they couldn’t bother us any longer. There’s been times that I’ve been asked about my name as well.  There was a sweet old substitute teacher who came up to me during class and told me that she’s here to support me no matter what I choose.  And sometimes at work customers would come up to me and ask if I was transgender.  I’d correct them, explain what being bigender meant and they would nod and talk with such kindness and understanding it almost brought me to tears.  I distinctly remember hugging one of the customers in the self checkout line, a complete stranger, but he was so understanding of my identity and so curious to learn what it was like with my identity I just couldn’t help it. This year was my first year on my own, hours away from home and in university. I was able to just be myself without an explanation.  I got to be in an entirely gender neutral dorm, with gender neutral bathrooms in a community of folks like me.  I made so many friends in one short year.  I owe a few of them so much kindness, especially my closest group who I was able to confide in with some of my strongest mental issues.  We were there for each other, to help each other bounce back and just laugh and be happy.  We could feel comfortable with who we were without ridicule.  It was so heartwarming! I am lucky to have such a comforting community supporting me: my friends, my family, my university and my work all supported me every step of the way.  If I’m ever asked questions I give them an honest answer.  I try not to hide my identity anymore, and instead be more open about who I am. It took about 5 years now before I can safely share this story and feel confident in my words.  It took five years of hard work to get to where I am today, a place where I am comfortable with myself and my labels.  I still have doubts and fears, but I’m sure we all do.  And for particularly harsh days I know that there will be someone out there to talk to and get me through the hard times. It is a long and winding road to come out.  I know not everyone has the same support that I did.  I was lucky, but I have to remind myself that this isn’t something to be ashamed of.  This is proof that there are people out there who will support and love you.  Proof that you’re not alone in whatever fight your facing physically, mentally, or even spiritually.  There are people who care.  There are people who listen.  And you just have to be there to find them.  You don’t have to suffer alone. I am so fucking proud to be bigender.  I’m proud to be asexual.  I’m proud to be biromantic and I’m so fucking proud to be akoiromantic even if it doesn’t seem like it at times.  These are aspects who make up who I am.  This is me.  I’m not some sad kid anymore.  I’m happy, I have so much to be thankful for.  And I have so many people that I want to thank for being in my life that there’s simply not enough room to share it all. Happy pride month to all of you!  I love each and every one of you!

Best All-Time Celebrity Met Gala Fashion Outfits
Scroll To See More Images
For serious fans of fashion, there’s no bigger red-carpet affair than the annual Costume Institute Benefit—a.k.a. the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala, or Met Gala for short—where celebrities and high fashion collide in a bonanza of couture gowns that more than rivals the Oscars in unabashed glamour. Part of the evening’s fun—even for us spectators—is seeing what attendees choose to wear on the red carpet at the Gala, which will be held Monday night. Considering attendees’ high-design attire is typically loosely inspired by the exhibition’s theme, we have a feeling this particular red carpet will be one for the record books, and we’ll see some of the best Met Gala dresses yet.
However, before we can look ahead to this year’s extravaganza, we decided to look back at some past memorable Met Gala gowns that we’re still talking about.
From supermodels (Karolina Kurkova in a head-to-toe custom Rachel Zoe creation that resembled liquid gold, Gisele Bündchen’s red-hot Valentino, Anja Rubik’s skin-baring Anthony Vaccarello) and starlets (Beyoncé in showstopping Givenchy, Diane Kruger in Jason Wu) to the fash pack (Alexa Chung in Marc Jacobs, Ashley Olsen in vintage Dior, Zoe Kravitz in Alexander Wang), there’s no denying that everyone who shows up to the year’s most major red carpet does so with a serious fashion moment in mind.

Rihanna, Met Gala 2017
As an annual Met Gala favorite, Rihanna didn’t disappoint when she wore a Comme des Garçons structured flower-like dress by Rei Kawakubo, a Japanese designer who was honored with that year’s theme. The look, which was straight from Comme des Garçons’s Fall 2016 runway, used floral fabrics, which were layered and pulled apart to look like petals.

Zendaya, Met Gala 2017
Though Zendaya strayed from 2017’s avant-garde theme, she still shut down the red carpet when she showed up in a colorful Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda ball gown decorated with vibrant orange and blue parrots. Z complemented her look, which boasted a floor-length train, with a voluminous Afro.

Cardi B, Met Gala 2018
Cardi B’s 2018 MOSCHINO Met Gala look (with the theme Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination) was beyond iconic.

Taylor Swift, Met Gala 2016
As 2016’s Met Gala chair, Taylor Swift created chatter on the internet for the metallic minidress she wore in honor of that year’s theme, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. The look consisted of a robot-like Louis Vuitton dress with cutouts and a ruffled skirt with knee-high lace-up heels and black lipstick complementing Swift’s electric-blonde hair.

Solange, Met Gala 2016
Solange didn’t exactly fit 2016’s technology-inspired theme, but many fans considered her lemonade-yellow David Laport dress, which featured accordion-like pleats, to be a nod to her sister Beyoncé’s album Lemonade, which came out a month earlier. Solange completed her look with matching latex leg warmers and clear sandals.

Lena Waithe, Met Gala 2018
When Master of None’s Lena Waithe showed up to the 2018 Met Gala in a literal rainbow cape, we knew it was going to be a good night.

Lupita Nyong’o, Met Gala 2016
Lupita Nyong’o stunned on the Met Gala red carpet in 2016 when she wore a jade sequined Calvin Klein shift dress with a near-translucent train. But it was her hair that caught the attention of the internet. Shortly after Nyong’o walked the red carpet, Vogue published an article comparing her sky-high bun to Audrey Hepburn’s in a 1963 Vogue photo shoot. The actress later called out the magazine on Instagram, explaining that her hair wasn’t inspired by Hepburn, but by traditional African hairstyles and Nina Simone.
J. Kempin/Getty Images.
Kendall Jenner, Met Gala 2017
Kendall Jenner definitely turned heads in 2017 when she showed up at the Met Gala in a near-naked La Perla dress. The sheer look, which featured a large diagonal cutout on Jenner’s torso, was flecked with glitter and featured a low-scooped open back, revealing Jenner’s derriere.
J. Kempin/Getty Images.
Katy Perry, Met Gala 2017
As one of 2017’s Met Gala chairs, Katy Perry raised the bar when she wore an avant-garde red-tulle dress by John Galliano. The look, which featured a floor-length veil and sleeves embellished with large jewels, also included a crown-like headpiece with the word “Witness,” which would later become the title of Perry’s 2017 album.
Jamie McCarthy/FilmMagic.
Claire Danes, Met Gala 2016
From a first look, Claire Danes’s 2016 sky-blue Cinderella-like Zac Posen ball gown looked like another pretty dress and far from that year’s technology-inspired theme. But in the dark, fans learned that the one-of-a-kind dress was sewn with dozens of fiber optics, allowing it to twinkle with lights when it was pitch-black. Posen revealed the high-tech effect on his Instagram.
Neilson Barnard/Getty Images.
Cara Delevingne, Met Gala 2017
Cara Delevingne took advantage of her freshly shaven head at the 2017 Met Gala by glazing it with slick silver paint. She paired her metallic buzzcut with a sci-fi-inspired pantsuit by Chanel with bold shoulders and a futuristic, star-like pattern.
David Fisher/REX/Shutterstock.
Rihanna, Met Gala 2018
Rihanna really stuck to the 2018 “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” Met Gala theme when she game dressed as the literal Pope. We’re still screaming about it.
Kevin Mazur/WireImage.
Madonna, Met Gala 2016
Madonna earned mixed reviews when she wore a sheer and skin-baring Givenchy dress to the 2016 Met Gala. The look, which exposed Madonna’s butt and breasts, was criticized by some for being too revealing. Of course, Madonna had the last word. After the controversy, the singer took to her Instagram to explain that her dress was a “political statement” against “an ageist and sexist society.”

Kim Kardashian, Met Gala 2013
A pregnant Kim Kardashian didn’t exactly stick to the PUNK: Chaos to Couture theme of 2013’s gala, but her Givenchy dress spawned 10,000 memes—and was of particular significance, given it was the first time Anna Wintour allowed her to attend.

Diana Ross, Met Gala 1981
Diana Ross’s 1981 Met Gala gown would look right at home on the 2018 red carpet, given fashion’s recent obsession with ruffles and off-the-shoulder cuts.

Solange, Met Gala 2015
When every other star was tripping over themselves to prove their dresses were the most naked, Solange rolled up to the 2015 Met Gala in this round Giles dress—and killed it.

Amber Valletta, Met Gala 1999
Amber Valletta looked every inch the supermodel in shiny gold at 1999’s “Rock Style” gala.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Met Gala 2013
Sarah Jessica Parker, patron saint of the Met Gala, can always be counted on to show up in something fabulously OTT, like this Giles Deacon gown and Philip Treacy Mohawk headpiece in 2013, proving that she truly gets the spirit of the event every year.

Diana Vreeland, Met Gala 1981

Lauren Santo Domingo, Met Gala 2008
In 2008, socialite and fashion It-girl Lauren Santo Domingo wore a silver glittering Nina Ricci gown—created by then-designer Olivier Theyskens—end of story. But it wasn’t, because the dress caused a bit of a scandal when the house dressed SJP in the same exact dress months later for the premiere of the “Sex and the City” movie. The brand responded to the controversy by saying LSD isn’t technically a celebrity, so they didn’t recycle.

Lupito Nyong’o, Met Gala 2014
Fresh off her fame-making red-caped-dress moment, Lupita Nyong’o made a dramatic grand entrance at the 2014 gala in flapper-inspired Prada.

Zoë Kravitz and MIA, Met Gala 2010
The cool crowd—also known as MIA and Zoë Kravitz—arrived on the arm of Alexander Wang at 2010’s “American Women”-themed gala.

Florence Welch, Met Gala 2012
Florence Welch brought it to the 2012 gala honoring Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli, although she opted to wear a stunning multitiered McQueen dress. She showed up on several “worst-dressed” lists, proving again that the masses just don’t get it.
Toby/WENN.com.
Anja Rubik, Met Gala 2013
Supermodel Anja Rubik rolled up to the 2013 punk-themed gala in a mini red leather Anthony Vaccarello number—and it promptly went down in the annals as one of the coolest, most memorable looks ever.
WENN.com.
Karen Elson, Met Gala 2015
In 2015, supermodel-turned-rocker Karen Elson debuted a jaw-dropping Dolce & Gabbana look on the red carpet. Whether it played into the night’s theme—”China: Through the Looking Glass”—is debatable, but the glamour is not.
Andres Otero/WENN.com.
Anne Hathaway, Met Gala 2013
Anne Hathaway shed her goody-goody image at the 2013 punk-themed gala, replacing her long brown hair with a cropped platinum cut and debuting an on-theme Valentino gown.
Lia Toby/WENN.com.
Miley Cyrus, Met Gala 2013
A logical step in Miley Cyrus’s 2013 emancipation from Hannah Montana? Attending the punk-themed Met Gala on Marc Jacobs’s arm in a  totally sheer dress and with blonde spiky hair.
Evan Agostini/Getty Images.
Diane Kruger, Met Gala 2004
A lot of the looks at 2004’s “Dangerous Liaisons: Fashion and Furniture in the 18th Century” gala look wildly outdated now, but Diane Kruger—in Nicolas Ghesquiere—still looks chic and sexy.
Lia Toby/WENN.com.
Nicole Richie, Met Gala 2013
Nicole Richie stunned due to the simple fact that she made both a Topshop gown and silver hair look ridiculously chic in 2013.
WENN.com.
Kim Kardashian, Met Gala 2015
In 2015, Kim Kardashian caught major flak for wearing a dress nearly identical to the one Beyoncé wore in 2012. Granted, they’re by different designers and were different colors—Beyoncé’s black and purple gown was Givenchy, while Kim’s white dress was part of Peter Dundas’s first collection since returning to Roberto Cavalli, but the similarities were shocking, down to the sheer nakedness, the curve-hugging fit, and—of course—the feathered train that Bey worked like a pro on the Met’s red stairs when she made her dramatic entrance three years ago.
(And let it be known, Kim—who was on the event’s host committee that year—also showed up toward the end of the carpet, just like Ms. Knowles did.)
WENN.com.
Rihanna, Met Gala 2015
Perhaps the most memorable gala gown—and the most memorable example of a star sticking to the theme—was at 2015’s “China: Through the Looking Glass”: Rihanna showed up in an imperial-yellow fur-trimmed caped number with a multifoot-long train created by Chinese couturier Guo Pei. “I was researching Chinese couture on the Internet, and I found it,” she told Vanity Fair.
Getty Images.
Ashley Olsen, Met Gala 2011
Ashley Olsen didn’t wear McQueen to the 2011 gala, whose theme was in his honor, but looked absolutely perfect in a vintage Dior with puffy sleeves.
WENN.com.
Beyoncé, Met Gala 2015
Beyoncé turned heads in revealing Givenchy Couture at 2015’s gala, though some critics slammed the look for being too shameless in its approach to grab headlines. In the year of the “naked dress” on the gala’s carpet—J.Lo and—predictably—Kim K. also showed up in similar styles—we kind of hoped Beyoncé would have risen above the fray and had fun with her look, much like Rihanna did that year.
WENN.
Gisele Bündchen, Met Gala 2011
Part of one of the best-dressed couples of all time, supermodel Gisele Bündchen made jaws drop in 2011 with her dramatic red Alexander McQueen.

Bianca Brandolini D’Adda, Met Gala 2012
Italian It-girl Bianca Brandolini D’Adda stunned in a serious gold Dolce & Gabbana ensemble in 2012.

Amber Valletta, Met Gala 2004
It’s hard not to applaud Amber Valletta for fully embracing the 2004 “Dangerous Liaisons: Fashion and Furniture in the 18th Century” gala theme.
WENN.
Diane Kruger, Met Gala 2011
In 2011, Diane Kruger was the picture of modernity—instead of an OTT gown, she opted for a sleek black slit-skirt and embellished top by Jason Wu.
Billy Farrell/BFAnyc/Sipa Press.
Rihanna, Met Gala 2011
Been there, done that: Rihanna was doing the naked-dress thing long before Kim, Bey, and J.Lo. Here she is in Stella McCartney in 2011.

Karolina Kurkova, Met Gala 2012
Karolina Kurkova brought some serious Studio 54 vibes in 2012 with her gold beaded Rachel Zoe number.

Kirsten Dunst, Met Gala 2012
Kirsten Dunst might have worn prim Rodarte to 2012’s gala, but the look did its part to play into the Prada and Schiappareli theme.

Alexa Chung, Met Gala 2013
It-girl and style-setter Alexa Chung took the “real fashion” route in a buttoned-up Marc Jacobs look in 2013.

I’m pretty sure that some of you are still playing Square Enix’s previous FF online game, Final Fantasy XI. So, great news everyone as “Amelila” has released a new graphics overhaul megapack for it.
This graphics mod significantly improves the Final Fantasy XI’s textures, transforming its blurry and ugly visuals into something that is actually pleasing to the eye, that is actually able to compete with titles released a few years ago. This mod also includes optional HD Bump Maps which will greatly improve your gaming visual experience, though they require a beefy graphics card (according to the author).
The Final Fantasy XI graphics overhaul mod is 277MB in size and you can download it from here. Amelila also claimed that this megapack will always be kept updated as new mods are released, and will be distributed free of charge to everyone.
In order to celebrate its release, Amelila has also released a teaser trailer that you can watch below.
Enjoy!

Hairstyles in the Sims. Can things ever get stranger?
Some people think thehair that comes with the base game feels a bit too bland, while some don’t like the way hair looks in vanilla Sims 4 at all.
Thankfully hundreds of modders from all over the world have created custom hairstyles to freshen things up.
It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for the hairstyles for male sims or females or even kids– you’ve come to the right place for all of it!
I’ve divided this list in two parts; the first will give you a breakdown of the best female hair mods for Sims 4, and the second part will tell you all about the best hair mods for male Sims in the game.
Choose wisely and dress up accordingly.
Girl Hairstyle Mods
12. Jealousy Hair
This long hairstyle takes a spot on my list because it reminds me of one of the coolest hairstyles that already comes in the game; but it’s far better and much more detailed.
I would dare say that this mod could easily replace the one that comes with vanilla Sims 4, but some of you might prefer a more traditional look.
In any case, in terms of long hairs with a tail that runs from back to front, you’ll struggle to find one as good as this.
11. Vapor Hair
When you’re going to rate hair mods, you have to understand that transparency plays almost as much of a part as the quality of textures and the design itself.
Rammstein feuer frei free mp3 downloads. As such, this one takes a spot because it ticks both boxes quite perfectly.
It’s a short hairstyle that suits almost every type of lady, and the transparency between the strands feels surprisingly accurate.
Tumblr media
10. Ominous Hair
This mod is fantastically detailed, and it offers a unique look.
Actually similar to only one hairstyle that I can recall from the game.
With a small bun on top of the head and some loose hair all over the place, this gives you a stylish look without many similar options.
There are some minor transparency issues but I’m forgiving the issues with this mod because it can’t be easy to model such a unique hairstyle; especially when loose hairs are not intended to be a thing in Sims 4.
9. Paradox Hair
This neat little hairstyle can be used by ladies of all ages, and it comes in a staggering 27 different colors to add plenty of variety to your Sims world.
Try out some of them and see which one fits your Sim the most.
This is a long hairstyle with a ponytail, and it’s detailed enough to be one of the best I’ve seen for the game.
8. Runaway Hair
Detailed and beautiful, the long Runaway Hair is by far one of my favorite hair mods to put on.
Granted, I think the hair itself looks pretty good in real life too. And that might’ve played a part on my decision.
But hey: that doesn’t take away from the astonishing level of work that went into this creation.
7. Prisma Hair
Am I going crazy, because I don’t think there’s a single hairstyle as long as this one in the base game.
I’m trying to recall but I just can’t think of any!
Those who love to see their female Sims with long hair might want to check this one out.
The level of detail is fantastic, it comes with plenty of different colors, and what’s even better is that the hair drops to the front of the body as well as a bit to the back.
The serial number and the product key are easy to find. Note: If you have a maintenance contract, you will also be able to search for previous versions of the software, as well as the serial numbers and product keys. If you have got a subscription, the serial number remains the same, irrespective of which version. For example, installing AutoCAD 2018, as either a point product or from the Autodesk industry collection, requires product key 001J1, but installing AutoCAD 2018 from the AutoCAD Design Suite Premium 2018 requires product key 768J1. The serial number and product key for your Autodesk software can be found in a variety of locations, depending on how you obtained your product. Autocad 18 serial number. Serial numbers are unique codes associated with your Autodesk Account and a particular product that you have purchased or is otherwise available to you. For 2014 versions and later, you can find them in Autodesk Account, on the Management tab. Depending on your license type, you may not need a serial number to launch your product.
It doesn’t seem to have much transparency issues given that it’s mostly uniform in color, so that’s an added plus.
6. High Life Hair
Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about short hair options.
And this one takes the cake as one of my favorites for the game.
I mostly play with male sims, I do admit that. But I have to tell you that those of you who want to see their Sims rock a short hairstyle with much more details than the ones that come with the base game are going to want to try this one out.
It can be used by Sims of all ages(starting Teen) but it does fit better on Young Adults, in my opinion. Encyclopedia britannica software download.
Yet it’s up to you to decide who rocks it!
5. Envy Hair
Another hairstyle with a unique design, this time being one that is far more withdrawn and less loose than others.
But I figure this can work pretty well on entrepreneurs and businesswoman Sims.
It just seems like a perfect fit for them, you know?
It’s that classic short hairstyle that seemed to be quite popular in the 80s, in which the hair wasn’t really short per se… but it was made to look like it was.
A picture is worth a thousand words though – so check it out!
4. Perfect Illusion
The creator of this mod used Lady Gaga as a reference. And I think the result turned out to be quite accurate.
This hair is super complex and you’ll have a Sim rocking quite a unique style like a rockstar.
Although this type of hair is already included in the base game (or a very similar one, at least). So it may not add a totally unique twist, but it’s worth a download if it could fit with your Sim’s style.
3. Parallel Hair
Wait, braids? I mean, DOUBLE BRAIDS?
How come these are not a thing on the base game?
This one takes the classic “good girl” look to the next level by adding this fantastic hairstyle, which can be used by Sims of all ages.
The best thing about the mod is that the braids are compatible with most of the hats that your Sim can wear too.
Which means it won’t interfere with your quest of creating that hat-loving personality you’ve always wanted.
2. Eden Hair
Another extremely long hair design takes the number two spot on my list. Mainly because I really love long hairs and the base game didn’t provide us with as many options as I would’ve wanted.
In any case, this one flows like a cascade through the left side of your Sim’s body and goes all the way down to the waist.
By far one of the longest hair mods that you’ll find, and it comes in dozens of different colors.
1. Nightcrawler Hair
Look, as much as I love long hair in this game, I couldn’t really avoid putting this mod as the number one on my list.
Fantastically well detailed as well as brilliantly executed in terms of transparency and compatibility issues, the Nightcrawler hair is as modern as it is eccentric.
This hairstyle fits women of all sorts, but housewives or business ladies might look particularly good with this.
You decide, though, as this mod puts the choices in your own hands.
Guy Hairstyle Mods
10. Nicholas Hair
A simple short design that is widely used by men in today’s world, the Nicholas Hair mod makes quite a fantastic addition to the game.
Well, mostly if you’re looking to add a style that suits almost every type of serious-looking Sim.
If you’re playing with a different type, like one that looks to live more of a bohemian lifestyle, then keep reading. There’s something here for you too.
9. Haunting Hairstyles
Shorter hair on the sides doesn’t always have to be as noticeable in order for it to look stylish.
And this hair mod shows exactly why.
Hair that is well-combed is sure to attract a lot of attention, and the Haunting Hairstyles mod will add exactly that to the game.
Plus you’ll have the option to paint various colors thanks to the mod creator’s hard efforts.
8. Hair N4
If you’re into the modern hairstyles usually rocked by sports stars and celebrities, then this mod is going to fit perfectly.
There isn’t one quite like it in the main game, as most that come with The Sims tend to have either an exaggerated mohawk or simply not as much on the sides.
This cut is as balanced as it gets. And you’re going to love the way your Sim looks with it.
As many others in this list, it also comes with color options that’ll give you an extra touch of variety!
7. Like Lust Hair
Are you trying to have your Sim look better than the rest?
Are you tired of the way some of the game’s basic hairstyles look, but you still want a stylish and not-so-cartoonish hair put on top of your male Sim’s head?
This one is like an improved version of the last mod, and in my opinion it looks even better.
You’re going to love watching your Sim rock it; I’m sure of it.
It comes with custom shadowing too, which also enhances realism by a landslide compared to others on this list.
6. Wavves
Download Vtstudio Final Mod Pack Nsuni 7z
Those who have wavy hair might not feel as represented in The Sims 4 community, well as much as those with straight hair.
So it’s time to put a stop to it with the Wavves Hairstyle mod.
This modern update takes a different approach than the rest by adding hair with waves to the game.
But beware – you’re going to need a good computer to make this one look its best. But again, this is The Sims we’re talking about… not exactly a GPU hog.
5. Hysteria
Faded on the sites and very long on the right side of the head, combed to the left.
Quite a unique look, if I may say so myself.
This is the typical hairstyle in forms of modern advertising rocked by those models looking brand-new the day of the photoshoot.
Wish we could all pull this off…
In any case, the hairstyle should suit any man quite nicely. In real life or in Sims land.
Tumblr media
4. Electric
Stylish, modern, and worthy of any businessman.
Tumblr media
This short hairstyle looks quite good on Sims of all backgrounds.
But I have to say that it’s quite a fantastic one to try on teens or young adults. I think it fits them quite well, but I’m sure you’ll love the way it looks on any wearer.
Plus it’s free so what do you have to lose?
3. Darko
Another modern style that starts with a faded cut on the sides.
But this one has more hair atop of the head, much like the original one that comes with vanilla Sims 4.
If you look closely you’ll notice this one is far more detailed though!
2. Blackout
Tumblr media
Feel like a true samurai with the blackout hairstyle.
Which is actually quite a longer hairstyle than you might think on first glance.
Well-rounded and a bit messy, this hair add-on definitely offers something that no other hairstyle in vanilla even comes close to.
1. Psycho
I’m not really sure why most male models used for Sims hairstyles look so weird. But hey, I’m sure Maxis has a good reason.
Final Mod Pack Nasuni Download Utorrent
Tumblr media
Now this hairstyle (fully compatible with hats) serves as a shorter option for men that like to have messy hair, and enough style to rock it regardless of the situation.
Download Vt Studio Final Mod Pack Nsuni
Parties, weddings, business meetings, and more.
It doesn’t really matter what type of Sim you like to play as; this has to be one of the best hairstyles for those looking for an all-rounder man design.

Programming note: 31 Days of Oscar (2018)
For all followers who started following from last March, you need to read this. For everyone else? You know what this is. :P
This blog has gone through more than its share of marathons in the past. However, there is only one marathon that remains an annual fixture here, and its sixth iteration begins soon. That is 31 Days of Oscar, based on Turner Classic Movies’ (TCM) marathon of the same name. 31 Days of Oscar is the most exclusive marathon on this blog because all films featured have at least been nominated for one Academy Award or have won an Honorary Oscar. This marathon is comprised of stuff you expect from my blog: photos, photosets (original and reblogged), gifs, gifsets, audio posts, videos from past ceremonies, and Movie Odyssey write-ups (anything that wasn’t Oscar-nominated can’t be featured).
I am not affiliated with TCM or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in any way. 31 Days of Oscar is a way to honor the institution that was one of the first sources for my initial interests in older movies (because, to a novice cinephile, one helpful way to find mostly-quality movies for those who don’t know any other resources is to seek out Oscar winners and nominees). The Academy Awards, for all of its faults, are AMPAS’ biggest fundraiser – assisting the organization’s daily efforts in cinematic education (they’re building a movie museum in LA), supporting young filmmakers, and maintaining its vast library of films (of all types, from all places, many of which are in need of restoration). They also serve to emphasize that cinema is among the most collaborative or artforms. That is reflected in this year’s scheduling theme, described below.
There are some issues with the schedule this year, including the fact the 90th Academy Awards would be on a Day 32 of this marathon. Thus, we will take a break on February 10. The Winter Olympics will also feature on this blog in February as it progresses. TCM is also arranging its schedule this year by category (on this blog, each day will be dedicated to a category with winners and nominees being featured from 3 AM-5 PM Pacific Time and exclusively winners from 5 PM to Midnight Pacific Time). This year’s 31 Days of Oscar schedule on this blog will look like this:
Thursday, February 1: Best Original Song
Friday, February 2: Best Original Score
Saturday, February 3: Best Cinematography
Sunday, February 4: Best Dance Direction (defunct) and Best Original Musical (this category exists in the rulebooks, but must be activated by the music branch... this category has been known by various names since last awarded for 1984′s Purple Rain)
Monday, February 5: Best Documentary Feature
Tuesday, February 6: Best Film Editing
Wednesday, February 7: Best Visual Effects
February 8: Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing
February 9: Best Costume Design
February 10: REST DAY
February 11: Best Director and Best Assistant Director (defunct)
February 12: Best Animated/Documentary/Live Action Short Film (TBD)*
February 13: Best Foreign Language Film
February 14: Best Adapted Screenplay
February 15: Best Original Screenplay
February 16: Best Original Story (defunct)
February 17: Best Supporting Actress
February 18: Best Supporting Actor
February 19: Best Animated/Documentary/Live Action Short Film (TBD)*
February 20: Best Animated Feature
February 21: Best Art Direction/Production Design
February 22: Best Makeup and Hairstyling
February 23: Best Actress
February 24: Best Actor
February 25: Best Actress
February 26: Best Actor
February 27 – March 4: Best Picture
* Depending on when I see this year’s nominated short films, these days will (hopefully) be the days for one of my favorite blog tradition: my omnibus write-ups on the films nominated in the short film categories (this, this, and this).
The only exceptions to the rigid schedule above are: Movie Odyssey write-ups (all write-ups, however, will be Oscar nominees), Winter Olympics posts, and maybe a few Peanuts comic strips.
The Academy Awards are on March 4. From 1935′s Swing Time (one win for Original Song from two nominations) to 1954′s Seven Samurai (two nominations) to 1970′s Patton (seven wins including Best Picture from ten nominations) to 2014′s Bear Story (won Best Animated Short Film and the first Latin American animated movie to win an Oscar) to this year’s nominees, I hope you will join me in this marathon, as we celebrate Oscar turning ninety!

Is The Natural Hair Movement A Fad?

Is The Natural Hair Movement A Fad?
Tumblr media

Is The Natural Hair Movement A Fad?
Wrapped and twisted so tightly around people’s emotions, cultures and history, afro-textured hair is making its stand. Is the natural hair movement a fad?[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]In 2016, Beyoncé reminded the world that she is a black woman. Or, at least to those who choose to forget. First came the Formation music video that dived into issues faced by Afro-Americans, from police brutality to the unrealistic standards of beauty. Then, one day later she made a powerful political statement during the US Super Bowl Halftime Show. Flanked by all-black backup dancers in their natural hair glory, she unleashed a Black Panther homage. The response was pure fury from the likes of Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City and some law-enforcement organisations. Until now, she presented a palatable exotic persona digestible for mainstream media. Now, she is an activist? Or was it all that Afro-textured hair on public display that made Giuliani flip his wig?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_single_image image=”6119″ img_size=”600×750″][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”23px”][vc_column_text]“When your hair is relaxed, white people are relaxed. If your hair is nappy, they’re not happy,” comments American comedian Paul Mooney in Chris Rock’s Good Hair (2009); a documentary that explores the importance of hair in black culture. He may have hit the nail on the head.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]Regardless, Ms Knowles stuck up a proverbial two fingers to her haters by embracing the backlash with ‘Boycott Beyonce’ t-shirts on sale at her concerts. Her rebellious stance is not unlike the spirit of the creole women forced to cover their hair in accordance to the 1786 Tignon Law, least white men should be attracted to them. Cover their heads they did, with beautiful, elaborate headwraps. Instead of being considered a badge of dishonour, the tignon became a fashion statement.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px”][vc_column_text]Beyoncé is not the only public figure to be championing the return to natural hairstyles. Many other celebrities are proudly doing their own thing such as singer Alicia Keys and actress Viola Davis, the new face of L’Oreal. And let us not forget the entire film cast of Black Panther. As if from nowhere, there was a mass shift of Afro-consciousness and a great number of people stopped straightening their hair.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]Afro-centric hairstyles quickly found themselves front and centre of mainstream magazines and on the runaways, as if the latest fad. But to refer to the Afro Hair Movement as a fad is insulting, at best. A fad refers to a compulsion, a short-lived craze that will disappear as quickly as it appeared. It certainly is not a new phenomenon.  Think of The Black Panthers who took a stand as far back as the sixties.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”23px”][vc_column_text]So, what is the big fuss?  In a word  – technology – and more specifically social media. Instead of being overtly political, black people are able to educate, share knowledge, celebrate and encourage one another.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”3px”][vc_column_text]The hot comb was introduced in 1880 and there began the anti-curl movement. When the relaxer came on the scene in 1905, there was no turning back. The need for straight hair became embedded in the black people’s psyche and, for many, getting your first perm became a rite of passage. The likes of Grace Jones, in the eighties, and Erykah Badu, in the nineties, offered some textured-hair respite however, this did not translate into the subconscious of many black people. Perhaps it was in the belief that what celebrities could get away with onscreen, ordinary folks could not in real life.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_single_image image=”11222″ img_size=”600×750″][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px”][vc_column_text]Texturism is intrinsically linked to colourism – a branch of racism.  Throughout history the texture of Afro hair has been the target of fascination and ridicule dating back to slavery when it  was  referred  to  as wool. Black people have long spoken out against people uninvitingly touching their hair.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]Reluctantly political, not all naturals consider themselves part of the movement. Not everyone who supports the movement has natural hair.  Some black people have worn their hair in its natural state from birth, many stopped using chemicals years ago.  Some women no longer perm their tresses, yet still  cover  their natural  hair  with  wigs  or  weaves. These women, unfortunately, are often targeted  by  Afro zealots and accused of not being true naturals.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_single_image image=”11223″ img_size=”400×950″ alignment=”right”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”23px”][vc_column_text]This only serves to be problematic, judgmental and to be honest, not very helpful. This is not a texture war. Labels only serve to suffocate the message. There is actually no right or wrong way to be black.  With any collective you will find factions and varying ideologies and this is no different for the Afro-textured hair movement.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]The natural journey is a personal one and the movement should aim to embrace rather straight shaming. It should not perpetuate the  self-hatred  and  body dysmorphic ideals that have previously been enforced upon an entire collective.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px”][vc_column_text]Think of the many black women who now have permanent scarring on their scalps due to relaxing their hair. The way in which people are prepared to burn themselves in a bid to achieve straight hair is more pressing than the method itself.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]Everyone has the right to choose. If anything, women should be encouraged to stop using hair care products that contain dangerous ingredients.  A US survey in 2018 found that nearly 80 percent of those aimed at women of colour contain chemicals linked to cancer, infertility and obesity.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”23px”][vc_column_text]The Afro movement is an umbrella for addressing and confronting many life issues.  Black people are not only reclaiming their hair , they are claiming their money. Tired of sub-standard hair care products and jaded by promises made by mainstream companies, they are now fighting for their share in the beauty industry.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]In 2014, L’Oreal acquired the Afro hair care brand Carol’s Daughter, founded by Lisa Price, for a cool $27 million.  Dove soon jumped on the bandwagon, acquiring one of the largest black -owned hair brands Shea Moisture. While some celebrate this, others say these corporate companies are a day late and a dollar short and they are spending their money with independent start up’s.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]You only have to look at the social media platforms to see the variety of hair brands dedicated to afro hair; Afrocenchix, Bourn Beautiful Naturals, Flora&Curl, Leicala and Nylah to name a few. This reclamation appears to have given birth to an entrepreneurial spirit, natural hair platform and marketplace.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px” width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_single_image image=”5973″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”0px” padding_bottom=”0px” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no”][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px”][vc_column_text]While there are still women who believe that they are ugly, men being denied jobs and children being  dismissed  from schools – all  because  of  their  hair – then  the movement shall continue. The root of it all is empowerment.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”5px”][vc_column_text]What is considered to be a trend by some is actually been the catalyst for healing and self-acceptance for others. There would be outrage if the LGBTQ+ or Human Rights movement were regarded as a fad. We should not be asking if the movement has longevity, we should be questioning why a movement is required in the first place.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inner_container=”true” padding_top=”20px” padding_bottom=”20px” border=”all” content_text_aligment=”” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” bg_video=”” class=”” style=””][vc_column fade_animation_offset=”45px”][vc_column_text]Simone Williamson is the Head of Afro Hair & Business at Afrocks.  Photo Credit: Imaxtree[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Amir Khan Relives ONE Championship Debut
Tumblr media
Singaporean mixed martial artist Amir Khan sports a crisp crewcut these days. It is a trim that has the young lion looking razor-sharp in his home workout videos on social media.
Coincidentally, it is also a throwback to the buzzed cut hairstyle that Khan rocked in his ONE Championship debut six years ago.
Khan first competed on the global stage at ONE: RISE OF THE KINGDOM in September 2014.
“I fought in Cambodia. It was my first fight in ONE Championship, and I had never been to Cambodia before,” he said.
The young Muay Thai prodigy was hardly a known commodity, especially on a stage as big as ONE. So, it came as a shock to Khan when the promotion rolled out the red carpet – a custom for all its athletes.
“When I got to NagaWorld hotel, I was welcomed with such great hospitality,” he said. “At that point in time, I was like a nobody, so I was really impressed.”
“I wondered, ‘Why would they treat me so good?’ Even for a new fighter, I was made to feel like a superstar. I really appreciated that.”
The pleasant surprise quickly faded and gave way to nerves and anxiety once match day approached.
“On fight day, the rest of my family – my mother and cousins – came over to see me at the hotel. I was shivering. I didn’t know what I had gotten myself into!” Khan said.
“It was nerve-wracking for me because that was my first time fighting in a big organization and all eyes were on me.
“I felt the pressure and all I could think about was, ‘I can’t wait to finish the fight and I can’t wait to get out of here and celebrate.’”
However, inside the Koh Pich Theater, Khan felt at home the moment he stepped inside the Circle.
With the backing of head coach Heath Sims in his corner, the Evolve representative made short work of opponent Jian Kai Chee.
Khan first launched at Chee with a jab-cross, then followed up with a hard knee to his midsection. The eight-bout veteran had little to offer in return, and after a series of punches from Khan, Chee fell to the canvas defeated.
It was a moment to savor for the Singaporean, and the victory proved he belonged with the world’s most elite martial artists.
“I finished my opponent in like two minutes, and that was the best feeling ever,” Khan said.
“I was so happy, I felt like the king of the world. Words can’t describe it – money can’t buy this kind of happiness.
“It wasn’t about how much I made that night. This was my first time enjoying the big crowd and a big organization. To get the ONE Championship medal, it was a big accomplishment for me.”

Justin Verlander's girlfriend, Kate Upton, has been hounded by outrageous rumours about his bad attitude and the bad way he treats fans. Kate Upton's Short Hair Kate Upton and Emily Ratajowski turned heads as they arrived at the Vince Camuto holiday dance party on Tuesday night. This a-list holiday party in Beverly Hills took place near where Upton and fiance Justin Verlander recently bought a new home together. With their simple party make-up looks on point, the gorgeous duo wore all black ensembles that made us want to ditch the colour all together. This time Kate wanted people to think it was real. We also made this appearance for Halloween a few. Kate Upton's Hair Years ago when we dressed up as Marilyn Monroe. Scarlett frequently documents Upton's hair transformations on Instagram, including her latest style: loose, shoulder-length waves. View yourself with Kate Upton hairstyles. We provide tips on how easy it is to let you know which style of your hair matches as well as facial shape, hair texture and hair density. Kate Upton black hair Update: it recently came to our attention from Mrs Upton's hairdresser, the images you see here are actually a fake bob. We don't maintain that once flabbergasted and impressed at this witchcraft, but the actress should consider going short because she looks good. Kate Upton, of this Sports Illustrated, Vogue, Bobbi Brown, and rom com fame, has long been pegged as a blonde bombshell. Kate Upton hair extensions Since arriving on the scene, Ms. Upton has mostly stuck to that script. By now. Kate's new hair is short with many models and even style star hairstyles like Lauren Conrad, and Kate Upton is the latest model to get the big chops. Kate revealed her now short golden locks with a lob do. See what it looks like below. We found out that Kate was actually a fake bob. On that, and a very good one. Kate has sported a 'fake bob' in the past that she likes, Upton s stylist, Bryce Scarlett, E. I'll tell you the news. Kate Upton blonde hair It's a bit more interesting, because it's definitely something I haven't seen. Kate Upton has taken a lob and I think she might look better than before, if possible. The Model is known for being voluptuous from her feminine curves, to her pouty lips, to her cascading. Part y looks great in edgier hairstyle. In fact, it might just be my favorite celebrity lob of the season. Kate Upton has already established herself as the model who can do just about anything.

tag game - 11 questions
i’ve had this sitting in my drafts for the longest time, and only just got round to finishing it - sorry about that! shoutout to @thatmissjo for tagging me for this :D
1. Something you probably don’t need, but hold onto because of sentimental value?
i have this necklace that my friend made me back in like 2014, and i’ve worn it every day since she gave it to me. it is my most prized possession. if i ever didn’t have it, i would be seriously upset. it means so much to me, and i’m always playing with it, so i’d know immediately if it were gone. i’m always wearing it, and only ever take it off to sleep or shower or swim.
2. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would it be?
hmm... probably photoshoppping things, because that’s the one thing i’m good at, lol! if only i could get paid for making taylor swift edits....
3. TV show or movie you refuse to watch?
okay, don’t hate me... i’ve never seen, and have absolutely no desire to see, frozen. yes, frozen. i know, i know, it’s a very good movie, everyone and their grandmother has seen it, whatever. i just remember that when it came out, girls at school made fun of me for not wanting to see it, because they said it was ‘life-changing’ and they’d ‘never be the same’ and that pissed me the hell off because when i tried to explain the importance of taylor swift to my life to them, they made fun of me and called me such awful things, and i said many of the same things. her music changed, and continues to change, my life, but if it’s me talking about taylor swift, i get made fun of for it, but if it’s them talking about frozen, i get made fun of for not agreeing! long story short, i could never watch it purely because it would probably make me ridiculously angry.
4. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
nooo! i actually really like my name! i actually really, really like being called grace annastasia. though, if i had to, i’d probably change my name to something like nancy elizabeth or ethel victoria. if you couldn’t tell, i *love* old names, so i suppose it’s quite fortunate that my name is grace, lol.
5. What movie title best describes your life?
hmmm... is there a movie called “grace is desperately tired, but is having one hell of a good time in spite of it”? coz that would be most fitting. if not....wonder woman, because i’m excitable and compassionate like diana is, and my friends and teachers call me wonder woman because i talk about that movie all the time.
6. Should toilet paper hang over or under?
OVER.
7. What actor/actress would play you in a movie about your life?
taylor swift, although she’d probably be a solid foot taller than me. my hairstyle and the general shape of my face look a lot like hers (though... she’s got bangs now.. think 2014 taylor) so i’d vote taylor.
8. What would you rate 10/10?
....Ready For It? By American Singer-Songwriter Taylor Swift, On the Album ‘Reputation’
9. Strangest dream you’ve ever had?
once, before i actually fell asleep, i had a bunch of animal crackers, and then while i was asleep i had this dream that there was an exact word for the taste of animal crackers in the back of your throat after you’d swallowed them. ??????????????????????????????
10. If music played every time you entered a room, what would it be?
definitely everything has changed. or the overture to some musical, probably beauty and the beast or the drowsy chaperone. those three songs are like the elevator music in my head, they’re always playing.
11. Fashion trend that just makes you cringe?
literally ANYTHING that’s expressly early 2000′s. that stuff is slowly coming back in style, and it pains my physically.
and here are my questions!
1. what celebrity do you most resemble?
2. mainstream thing that you just can’t stand?
3. what’s a skill you wish you had?
4. what’s your favorite word?
5. describe to me when you look the best! favorite outfit, all that.
6. have any pets? tell me about them, and what funny nicknames you’ve got for them.
7. if you could turn any story/historical event into a movie, what would it be?
8. would you prefer to be short or tall?
9. how do you take your coffee/tea?
10. what is/was your favorite subject in school?
11. do you know cursive?
answer these 11 questions and then make your own 11 questions and tag 11 people.
i tag @ampersands-and-guitars @amadmanwithapen @impossiblyeclecticduck @tatumburritto @youhearisno @pawprintswift @daysinthesuns @etherealpondsx @tshifty @reecetheswiftie @comfortablysweet and as always, anyone else who wants to do it!! i tag any and all of you.

Like any style trend, beauty is cyclical. Some trends worked, some didn’t, but the only way to know is to try them. One of our favorite beauty era is the ‘70s. Badass babes, metallic dresses, fur coats, fabulous dance moves... ugh, take us back. This was also the time of rebellion. We love the feel of ‘70s beauty trends. The mix of masculine and feminine, the bold, blunt hairdos and the fabulously fierce dresses and outfits, they add up to a look so rock-and-roll we can’t even think straight. Flashing back to the era of Woodstock, hippies and major hard rock we have the best and most killer hair look to date: the short shag.   From past to present, these looks give us the shivers…in a really good way. Here are some of our favorite old school babes who put the shag hairstyle to work for them.  Old School Short Shag Hairstyles   Debbie Harry, 1978 Photo: Shutterstock  Debbie Harry was the lead singer of the band “Blondie,” a mega-popular punk-rock band from the late 1970s to early 1980s. The singer became known for hits like “The Tide Is High” and “One Way or Another,” in addition to leading the way in the fashion world for trends like her short shaggy ‘do. She paired her short shaggy hair with choppy bangs. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sigourney Weaver (@sigourney.weaver.official) on Jun 7, 2019 at 6:54am PDT View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sigourney Weaver (@sigourney.weaver.official) on Jun 10, 2019 at 5:45am PDT Actress Sigourney Weaver (@sigourney.weaver.official on Instagram) became well-known in her role as Dana Barrett in the 1984 hit “Ghostbusters” and changed the hair world forever. Her short shaggy hair was accompanied by her luscious curls.     Jane Fonda, 1970 Photo: AP Images  Activist and actress, Jane Fonda had a rather eventful year in 1970. Her mugshots appear from the time she was arrested for “drug-smuggling” some vitamins on her way to Cleveland. According to an excerpt from her memoir, “My Life So Far,” Fonda said, “Perhaps I used to hide behind [my hair],” she wrote. Vogue writer Mackenzie Wagoner phrased Fonda’s new-hair experience quite concisely in a 2017 article , ‘It was at that moment, when realizing she had become afraid of much bigger things than of being herself, she met hairstylist Paul McGregor and gave him a simple demand: “Do something.”’ That something ended up being her brunette, short shaggy hair.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts (@joanjett) on Apr 1, 2016 at 1:31pm PDT 1970s rock-and-roller Joan Jett (@joanjett on Instagram) brought her short shaggy hair to the forefront of her look, still a part of her today. Jett is known for rock favorites like “Bad Reputation” and “Cherry Bomb.” Her hair suits her music and her voice, sexy and wild. Jett has kept her shag jet-black for as long as we’ve seen her around and heck if it’s not perfect for her.     Stevie Nicks, 1982 Photo: Getty Images  Famous for hit songs like “Edge of Seventeen” and “Rhiannon,” rocker-queen Stevie Nicks loved her shaggy blonde hair through the 1970s and 1980s. She wore her hair a bit longer than the other rock-and-rollers of her time, but she looked incredible enough with her shaggy hair that we had to include her.  Pixie Short Shag Hairstyles In today’s day and age, short shaggy hair is making a comeback. It’s not just cool from the 70s anymore. It’s cool hair for the modern woman, embracing the slightly masculine sex appeal of the look. Like Jane Fonda, I can relate to wanting something different to do with my hair. I chopped my own earlier this year into a short shaggy pixie cut. It was the perfect way to get myself ready for the next phase of my life. I stand strongly with my favorite quote from Coco Chanel, “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” These modern celebrity trendsetters show us how to rock the short shaggy hairdo with ease.     Rihanna (@badgalriri on Instagram) looks incredible with almost every hairstyle a person can imagine, but her short shaggy pixie was definitely one of our favorites. She wore it black for Vogue in 2014, but Riri has also had this short shaggy hair in bright red and bright pink.    PHOTO COURTESY: Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage  Actress Keke Palmer (@keke on Instagram) has tried some particularly eccentric hairstyles, but this short shaggy pixie hair is one of her best. She keeps it cropped extremely close to her head so although it is a shag, it also appears chic and clean-cut.    View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cara Delevingne (@caradelevingne) on Aug 9, 2019 at 10:51am PDT View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cara Delevingne (@caradelevingne) on Jan 1, 2018 at 12:18pm PST Cara Delevingne (@caradelevingne on Instagram) is well-known for her own short shaggy hair. She stays true to the icons of the 1970s and 1980s with her chic hair.  Mid-Length Short Shag Hairstyles Short shaggy hair doesn’t have to be just pixie length. It looks equally beautiful in slightly longer shaggy styles, too. Here are just a few of our favorite celebrities who embody the look.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by olivia holt (@olivia_holt) on Apr 10, 2019 at 6:12pm PDT “Cloak and Dagger” actress, Olivia Holt (@olivia_holt on Instagram) looks effortless with her slightly-longer short shaggy hair. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on May 2, 2019 at 10:32am PDT Selena Gomez (@selenagomez on Instagram) shows off her short shaggy hair, accompanied by a lipstick red bra-top. Her short shaggy hair oozes sex appeal, and we can’t look away.  So What Do We Think? We think the short shaggy hair look should be and will be around for a long time to come. It’s cute and sexy, stylish and chic. It works for pretty much everyone, no matter how you look. Give short shaggy hair a try, the next time you consider chopping your locks. We can’t wait to see!
