Kathryn Finter is a Canadian artist whose fifteenth-century materials and techniques of panel painting and manuscript illumination have inspired me. I learned a great deal while researching her illuminated letter art. I then decided to make my stepdad a Celtic Irish Quinn family name design.

Some recent work - a rework of an older piece. I don’t do a ton of cover-ups, since they often don’t work well in my primarily Celtic art style. This one was a fun challenge. Old knotwork integrated into a fresh illuminated style scene with tree, hounds, ravens and books signifying their family and shared interests.
