My dnd party got a baby drider a long time ago, per my begging of the GM. This adorable little spider baby was meant for my character (who misses her little one), but I have unintentionally unlocked the father side of another players character. This massive Goliath monk who loves fighting has now spent the last several sessions within close proximity of this baby. Whether it’s holding him as we walk, or sleeping with him on his chest, he is surprisingly fatherly. And it’s the absolute cutest thing I’ve ever witnessed

If there's only a single lesson I take away from Baldur's Gate 3, from a Dungeon Master perspective, it's that you shouldn't be afraid to mix science fiction in with your fantasy. Like, even just looking at the initial descriptions of the core party members, you have:
A woman forcibly converted into a cyborg by a militant war-queen and forced to serve as a frontline soldier in the largest war of the setting, who needs constant maintenance on her cybernetics to stay alive.
A man who accidentally subsumed a fission reactor and now constantly has to feed it fuel or else it'll go into meltdown and take out the entire region.
A ranking soldier serving an interstellar empire, who was a POW of her people's sworn enemy and given an implant that will gradually override her physical and mental autonomy until she's assimilated into her enemy's ranks.
A well-meaning mercenary-for-hire who learned his skills under contract with a powerful overlord, who is now bound by that contract to serve her lest his abilities and even his very body be forfeited.
A covert operative of a shadowy intelligence organization who regularly has her memories wiped before being sent out on highly classified missions, for the (alleged) sake of operational security.
These are hard sci-fi character types, even though they use devils and magic instead of CEOs and circuitry, and it barely registers on my immersion.
If an officially produced DnD game set in one of the most conventionally fantasy settings of the franchise can include this level of science fantasy, fans' own campaigns can go absolutely wild with it!

The Steddie (or just in general) potential of this
Just learned that Joe Manganiello, Sofia Vergara’s husband and famous actor, grew up a GIANT nerd and was into all the classics: DnD, comics, heavy metal, etc etc. He also hosts and dms campaigns to this day with other public figures in the basement of his and Sofia’s Hollywood home
Imagine with me:
Rockstar!Eddie Munson of Corroded Coffin fame and his hot husband Steve who the media loves to fawn over live in this beautiful private home in Southern Cali. The rest of the party is famous in their respective fields as well, but only people who have done a deep-dive into Corroded Coffin know about Eddie's Hawkins friends. The media is well aware of Eddie's musical and fantasy inspirations, as both have a heavy hand in CC's music. So, really, it's not a shock during a tv interview when Eddie says that he still plays DnD on the reg and dms campaigns for his friends. What IS shocking, however, is the seemingly random cast of famous people who come over to his basement for said campaigns.
Eddie doesn't give them a full list of names or anything, but he does mention that they're all old friends who reconvene when they can to play and catch up. He points out enthusiastically that Will Byers, one of the players, actually got a chance to illustrate one of the newer DnD guidebooks.
This all barely has time to settle with Corroded Coffin's fanbase and the media alike before, shortly after the interview airs, Steve posts a video online of their whole DnD group sitting in a basement that truly looks like a nerd dungeon, Eddie narrating some dramatic twist in the plot over a cacophony of shouts from the players. The camera turns back to look at Steve rolling his eyes with a smile, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, and Argyle on a couch in the background. The video is captioned "Dorks and Doofuses night".
People from a lot of different fan groups freak out: the entire Corroded Coffin band, tech genius Dustin Henderson, NASA scientist Erica Sinclair, basketball star Lucas Sinclair, DnD illustrator Will Byers, and a few people unrecognizable to the public are seated at the table, and behind the camera are award-winning photographer Jonathan Byers, linguist expert Robin Buckley, weed CEO Argyle, and investigative journalist Nancy Wheeler. All just hanging out there. In Steve and Eddie Munson's basement.
The internet EXPLODES.
Bonus: Just think about Steve being the hottie house husband who is exasperated but also endlessly endeared by Eddie's nerd chaos. He brings everyone drinks and baked goods throughout every session. Think about it.
Bonus-Bonus: Steve opens the newest conspicuously large package that has been delivered to their house. He sighs, staring at the giant custom-built monster head. "Eddie!"
A crashing noise sounds from upstairs. "IS IT HERE?"

I sure hope that Palworld isn't AI generated (currently there is no definitive proof they were AI designs but that's not to say they couldn't be, the idea of them being AI generated comes from a twitter post of the CEO showing of him messing with an AI generator to see how well it could make fakemon) cos parodying things is an art I hold dear. I love making parodies and spoofs in things like fanfics and DnD campaigns because it feel like an inside joke that anyone could get in on.
this exactly. i'd very much want the devs to step forward and clarify whether they used AI in the development process to begin with and if they did how and with what things they did so, since the main problem with generative AI is the art/voice theft that occurs with training the algorithms. in all fairness there have been one or two parody things that featured AI that i enjoyed, but usually in them the visuals were there to make fun of AI or the point was to gawk at the uncanny nature of that slop. i got also reminded of sarah palin forever in which AI was used in the creation of the short film, but to up the uncanny nature of the story and y'know to criticize the use of AI in general. this is probably way off point tbh and i'd say that AI doesn't really have a place in parody especially when the visual aspects are the point in it, because the human intention used in creating compelling and effective parody isn't there. if you're making a pikachu ripoff i want it to be sincere and intentional and not the result of you plugging "pikachu" into a funny algorithm to get a goopy uncanny pikachu
also while i haven't watched the stream myself because i got up only a bit ago revscarecrow talked about palworld and the AI accusations in his stream last night, i'll be checking it out later and perhaps it might be interesting to you as well

oc tag game
stolen from @faemothra!
favorite oc: adri or dayta (they have sm in common that it’s uncanny, but what’s even weirder is that sam was the one to invent adri, so all that shit was pure coincidence. us when our ocs are the unwilling heirs to the ceo throne of Evil Sci-Fi Corp and have parent issues and belong in a set of twins, of which one runs away, and engineer experiments on themselves and exist as anachronisms at the points that their stories take place. ALSO BISEXUAL?? what a specific trope…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
newest oc: chickadee aka kadee for a dnd campaign i joined! (yes it’s exactly what it looks like)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oldest oc: rainbow girl (created when i was 7, no art remains but imagine kinda like this)

LB's Sister!
Im finally able to post about the biggest secret ive had to keep while playing dnd to date, LB's Sister who ended up being one of the main bosses of the campaign we are playing in.
Tumblr media
Going in order of what my party saw heres her portrait when she was first appointed CEO of the main commercial district in the city, basically making her responsible for any and all commerce.
Shes a good 15 years older than LB and as such has a lot more experience under her belt but that also meant that she was the first born by a wide margin and therefore got the attention of an outer-worldly being first. Due to its influence and corruption she wasnt really the same when we finally got to fight her. So heres that art!
Tumblr media
I spent a lot of time redoing and tweaking this piece and i can confidently say that im happy with how it came out in the end, but here she is in all her corrupted glory!
We were able to save her from the corruption and bring her back to our base so she can recover and hopefully she and LB will get to work through there issues but heres a quick doodle of her after everything, her scales are gonna be a bit discolored for a little bit but some time and magic will help that :)
Tumblr media
So thats Kay! thanks for checking out my art :)
BONUS: just for the sake of the post and for archival purposes, heres the first bit pf art i did of her when my dm agreed that it would be cool to have Kay be a boss later on :)

recently read: january 2023 🪐
I did say I was going to try and make a list of what I’ve read each month. First month done! I decided not to include rereads (which I do a lot), because then the list would never end.
If you decide to check any of these fics out, make sure to show the author some love. Leave kudos, a comment and, if possible, reblog (or retweet) the fic post! and a big thank you to all these amazing authors! thank you for sharing your writing with us!
Little Taste by @wabadabadaba (G, 1.2k, domestic fluff, age regression) A morning with little Harry and caregiver Louis.
I loved As It Was and was so happy to see that the strawbaby universe had gotten another fic! I had missed those two.
yeah, he's a looker (but i really think it's guts that matter most) by @thedevilinmybrain (E, 40k, non-au, established, friendships) Five times Oli was asked to do something that was outside of his job description, and the one time he didn't have to be asked.
amazing characterization! Jennifer never fails with writing amazing characters, but this was just something else.
Can I Watch? by @larrysballetslippers (E, 4.9k, poly, established, smut, voyeurism) Harry never thought a horrible encounter would lead to some hot loving from his boyfriends.
Chicago by @hellolovers13 (G, 3.5k, exes to lovers, famous/non-famous) They hadn't seen each other in four years, why was Louis still writing songs about Harry?
London by @hellolovers13 (M, 2k, fluff, established, famous/non-famous) A lazy morning in bed. Finally home.
Bless You! by @neondiamond (G, 2k, kid, established, fluff) Harry and Louis’ young daughter, Ava, really enjoys when Harry says ‘bless you’ after she sneezes.
you can always expect amazing fluff from Jess, so you know you’re gonna leave the fic with a warm feeling in your chest
Tender Hearted by @polaroidlouis (E, 3.3k, established, mpreg, smut, service top L) It hadn’t taken long then for Harry to clue in the fact that Louis was enthralled with his newly bloomed breasts.
Just To See That Smile by @homosociallyyours (NR, 6.7k, uni au, fake relationship, pining) A fic where a hastily faked relationship and a lot of miscommunication almost ruins a perfectly good dance.
One for the Books by @neondiamond (M, 25k, advent fic, strangers, winter, fluff) Or the one where there’s a bookshop, a cat, OT5 friendship, a budding romance, and all the festive vibes.
Hike Up Your Skirt (And Show Your World To Me) by @twopoppies (E, 17k, CEO/employee, dom/sub, smut) Louis has a very hands on approach to training his new secretary. How else can he make sure Harry realizes his full potential?
I really enjoyed reading a character that isn’t really a good character and now I want more of these morally gray characters.
It's Thursday. Let's Get (un)Dressed. by @bananaheathen (E, 9k, genderfluid H, pining) When Louis is peer-pressured into downloading TikTok over the holidays, he fully expects to hate it. And he does hate it. All of it. Well... except for aspiring OOTD influencer, @ harrystyles.
edible stars by @forthetherapyy (E, 10k, uni, friends with benefits, dom/sub) They take a test and the results change things for Harry and Louis.
Fellowship of Eroda by @sadaveniren (E, 5.3k, enemies to lovers, dom/sub) aka Louis may have had a four night stand with Harry and now he's stuck in a DND campaign with him.
Fun Time Candles by @sadaveniren (T, 1k, kid fic) Harry makes candles shaped like dicks. Harry also has a five year old learning to read. These two things should never interact.
The animals play by @sadaveniren (M, 1.2k, kid fic, dom/sub) Harry and Louis play a game of cat and mouse.
I love this parenting while actively in the bdsm community series! all of them are amazing
Counterculture by @sadaveniren (E, 6k, a/b/o, pack dynamics, scenting) It all culminated to this: Harry in the middle of a crowded basement, music blasting from the live show on the far side, shirtless amongst alphas and omegas who all weren’t covering their scents. He took a deep breath of the heavy air and he felt alive.
(yes, I had a little sadaveniren marathon and I’m not sorry)
A Bright and Blazing Flame by @greenfeelings (E, 23k, a/b/o, established, famous/famous, all the good omegaverse stuff) Bonded, engaged, and moved in together — there’s nothing to daunt Louis and Harry’s happiness. Until the past catches up to them and everything comes crashing down when they least expect it.
I have so much good to say about this series and not enough words to express myself. it’s got everything you can want from an a/b/o fic, and more
Late for Flying Practice by @jaerie (E, 2.5k, elf/reindeer, smut) Louis is a hybrid reindeer gearing up for his first year as navigator for Santa. Harry is one of Santa's elves in the middle of his 99th season as head cookie designer. They've been having an affair for years. This time it doesn't exactly go well. Or does it?
Secrets, Santa? by @indiaalphawhiskey (E, 19k, boss/employee, christmas themed, awkward H, dirty talk) Right, okay, so Harry had confessed his deepest, darkest, dirtiest secrets to a stranger who turned out to be his boss. No big deal. This was probably just the beginning of Harry’s own hilariously heartwarming, wildly romantic Hallmark Christmas movie, come to life, right?… Right?
this was hilarious and found myself having to stop myself from laughing while reading it
Wanna play you like a game, boy (what's the thrill of the same toy?) by @thebreadvansstuff (E, 10k, boss/employee, dom/sub, humiliation) Louis is Harry's boss, and Harry has a humiliation kink.
He's Got the Money, Baby Honey by @larry-hiatus (E. 10k, dom/sub, financial domination) Finsub Harry forgets his dom’s weekly gift. Louis makes him pay for the mistake with a shopping spree.
I loved reading about this kink and way of domination that was completely new to me
On the naughty list tonight by @lunarheslwt (E, 6k, established, dom/sub, Christmas) Harry has a little bad habit- he peeks at gifts early because he is too impatient to wait to open them. Louis is determined to catch him this time, and show him that actions have consequences.
enough to make a girl blush by @disgruntledkittenface (E, 22k, a/b/o, girl direction, childhood friends, self discovery) When Louis moves from her small hometown to the city, she runs into her childhood friend Niall. Despite her surprise at learning that Niall presented as an alpha, she’s immediately drawn to her. As their relationship progresses and Louis settles into life in the city, she learns that love, sex and identity aren’t always as simple as she’d been taught growing up. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
I loved learning about girl alphas in this! I know I’ve said it every time I talk about this fic, but I can’t help it. it was so fun learning about it
Unholy by @wicked-archer (E, 11k, religios kink, priest/demon, smut) When Harry Styles started acting different after his 26th birthday, Father Louis Tomlinson is the only one that may be able to save his soul. He has successfully performed exorcisms before. This should be easy. Until it isn't. Harry is more than he seems. The battle of wills test every bit of faith Louis has. And Harry? Well, he's just getting started.
positive feedback by @sun-lt (T, 4k, a/b/o, established, nesting) Louis pretends he isn’t insecure about his nest, Harry pretends he isn’t inconveniently horny, and they both see right through each other.
you know you’re gonna have a great time when you’ve get a notification about a new Essie fic, and this one was no different!
Control by @zourry-a (E, 1.7k, smut, public sex) "M'gonna finger you," he said softly. "Right here in front of everyone, like you want. Do you want it, Louis?"
I Built This Bed For Two (I Built This Bed For Me and You) by @yafookinlousah (E, 8.9k, exes to lovers, cuddling) Harry and Louis broke up after uni and haven't seen each other since—until they're roped into doing a Buzzfeed video together. Featuring awkward cuddling and a reunion that just needed a kick in the arse, gleefully provided by Niall.
One Touch Is Never Enough by @kingsofeverything (E, 3.8k, werewolves, funny) It’s been a rough year for Louis. First, he was turned into a werewolf, which hasn't been so bad, except that he didn't anticipate how it would affect his love life. Maybe it’d be easier to ignore if he wasn’t constantly bombarded by the sound of his two werewolf best friends getting it on in the next room. At least they were nice enough to give him a gift certificate for a massage.
I'm Sure It Happens To All Alphas by @jaerie (E, 3.7k, a/b/o, awkward sex) Louis has trouble popping a knot.
I said a little while ago that there aren’t enough fics where the sex isn’t perfect, and then I stumble upon this. I was so happy!
pink like the paradise found by @disgruntledkittenface (M, 18k, girl direction, uni, bartender L, coming out) Harry's friends take her out to the local lesbian bar to celebrate after she comes out. They joke about getting her laid, but the way the hot bartender is looking at her makes her think it might actually happen.

The dnd campaign you've been drawin stuff for is INTRIGUING, would you be willing to share more about the story?
YEAH-- I can try my best to explain what I can remember. I would have to summarize everything, since this campaign has been going on for . I think two years now. KJSHDFGLKJSDFHG And I'm only a player, so I actually have no idea what the DM's are planning LMAO-- but it's still going on--
I also may be incorrect and a little vague with information, so like. Sorry-- KJDSHFGSD
Everything is under the readmore :3c
Couple years into the future, in Toontown, a grand banquet at Bossbot Headquarters is disrupted when mysterious bots attack, capturing the CEO, Robert, and attempting to abduct others, which were all the other Cog Bosses and what not. Faced with a dangerous situation, all of our characters had to fight off bots, discovering they are military-esque and being tracked. The bots belong to a corporation named MECHS. Realizing the severity, Ottoman instructs everyone to meet in Toontown Central in an hour without questions.
Toontown is in chaos, with toons and cogs coerced into working together for MECHS. In Toontown Central, suspicions rise, leading to conflict, but Ottoman convinces them to unite. In a private meeting, Ottoman discloses that MECHS, a ruthless corporation, took over a nearby town, Greytown. To stop the impending takeover of Toontown, our group had to venture to Greytown and find a way to thwart MECHS. We also were tasked on rescuing the other Cogs Bosses while going around, because Ottoman realized they were gone and was just. Help-
We met a lot of NPC's and seen different parts of this world, nearly dying a good chunk of times during the entire adventure. We specifically met two DMPC's named Egosi and Vossler, where we learned things about the two along the way.
We visited three different M.E.C.H.S. Board Committee Headquarters: "TechBot Facilities," "Researchbot Laboratories," and the "Enforcerbot Base." Although "MECHS City Central" existed, we couldn't access the main part, only being on the outskirts during our visits to the other HQs and passing through a "Utopia" on a train in one of the last sessions before everything went wrong.
Our goal was to defeat the bosses of each headquarters, and we succeeded in all three. Enforcerbot HQ was challenging; we were jailed for at least two weeks with collars but managed to escape. We didn't kill the bosses but left the facilities in disrepair. We were menaced by the Board President of MECHS but never met him in person. We also worked with the many resistances that were scattered around Greytown and managed to help them a lot during our time working with them.
Researchbot HQ was the first we visited, and my character got impaled by an exploding trident. (he was fine) Two NPCs died in battle, affecting the main boss and pissed her off. After destroying her, we discovered we were perceived as dangerous individuals through wanted posters and propaganda in Greytown.
Techbot HQ involved psychological warfare, with the boss knowing our past. Some party members broke down, and we faced physical challenges.
Enforcerbot HQ was kind of funny though. Despite being captured and witnessing the Horrors that the MECHS does, and having to go through rigorous BASICALLY TORTURE, and losing a DMPC; Vossler, where he willingly left the party-- When we defeated the boss, he just kind of fell over and initiated a "Self Destruct" sequence that didn't actually work and believed he died. So, we were able to kind of walked out while literally everyone ran away from the HQ, because THEY believed everything was going to explode, so we're not entirely sure how long everything was shut down over there.
We found the cog bosses by the way when going through each Headquarters and rescued them. We did find them, and found V.P. in a cave in some mining town, and C.F.O in a cage in a corner in Researchbot HQ, C.E.O. flunkied at Enforcerbot HQ. but we killed the fuckign C.L.O. in Techbot HQ JKHDSFKLJGHSDF because she was being mean and betrayed everyone lmao-- After concluding at Enforcerbot HQ, we were able to get those collars off of each other and escaped on a train after speaking to a bunch of characters before going off. We traveled through MECHS City Central on a train, only briefly passing through it and being menaced by a giant bot and going into battle briefly before we escaped and went off BACK to Researchbot HQ, because the train just. Took us there.
We got off and wandered around and went into a sewer and found ourselves at some facility. We got cleaned up and was able to stay here for a short while. Our last task we were supposed to do was something related to an investigator, but everything went wrong when we left.
Suddenly, we were ambushed during our next journey by overpowering forces and unfamiliar bots. We faced a choice: fight or flee. Opting to flee required a roll above 12 for a successful escape into obscurity. Choosing to fight meant an unknown fate. If we escaped but stayed to assist others, both players needed a roll above 12. The situation was intense—do or die.
... EVERYONE LOST THIS ROLL. Which lead to capture and imprisonment, except for my character and a DMPC, Egosi.
Here's the text we were given.
If you rolled a 12 or above:
You manage to get away. Run. Run away and never return. Change your name and your appearance and disappear into obscurity. You will never be safe again as long as you live, so you must never come back. You hear your friends' cries fade into the distance behind you as your legs carry you you know not where - your battle is over, and you lost. But you can still live. If you can live with the guilt.
If you rolled an 11 or below: (I summarized this part, because it's long)
The friends who escaped left them behind, and everyone is subdued, handcuffed, and collared, losing their magical abilities. Transported for hours in a cramped van, they arrived at the imposing MCC headquarters. Gagged and surrounded by a military presence, they're all led to a grand boardroom where the Board President berates them for past mistakes, exposing All of our personal details. Despite wanting to kill everyone, he spares their lives in exchange for his beloved's return; Vossler. However, they're all sentenced to a maximum-security prison beneath the castle, with escape requiring a perfect Natural 20 roll. It's a grim fate, but they're alive, albeit in a cold, dark prison.
And I just... Man. There was a lot of in between stuff that happened in between everything, obviously, but this post would be SO LONG. KJSDFHGLKSJDFH
We all basically failed. Toontown is gone and we have no idea what happened to everyone we knew and saved. We were meaning to rescue even More characters and stop the MECHS, but we just... Never got to it. And never will get to it.
We had to roll for new characters--
So, now the new session starts at some point, 12 years into the future. Here's the last thing that was shared, it's basically a copy-paste from everything.
It's been 12 years since the events of Greytown. Since then, Toontown has been completely absorbed by Greytown, and become what is basically a new territory and industrial sector. The once lively and burgeoning town of Toontown has seen the color drained from its streets and buildings and citizens. Resistances have continuously been squashed over and over and over again. A few have popped up in the interim, but none would be as successful as your initial campaign. Your last characters are heralded as martyrs in some circles where their actions are still felt - but in others, where propaganda has taken hold and twisted and skewed the retelling of events, you are seen as pot-stirrers and criminals and terrorists who went out of your way to hurt people, kill innocent bots, and take several cities out of commission for months, and people's livelihoods with them. The Board President essentially used your failed coup as a launching pad to further scare his citizens into mistrusting outsiders - which extends towards the people of Toontown who have not yet "assimilated". His face is now essentially plastered everywhere, and in the years following the last campaign, he underwent a dramatic shift of being silent and mysterious and never seen, to becoming a public face advertised as someone the people could trust. He talked often about how he was scared for his life, and scared for the livelihoods of his citizens, and flaunts his swift restoration of industry and jobs. The people are further dug into their holes of misery and propaganda, and resistance movements nowadays are extremely few and far between, with minimal outward public support. This is where our new story begins. Your characters currently reside in Greytown - whether you are natives or not is up to you, but you live and work here now and cannot leave. Most people who enter Greytown do not leave, as the, now, country of Greytown has very strict border policies and does not openly communicate or accept the outside world - although it is very much out there. You are all located in Mechs City Central - the heart of Greytown, and where the Board President's presence is felt the strongest. Despite that, there is a very small underground resistance movement rippling throughout the city. You know this, as you will be a part of it. Please ensure to create your characters with this in mind. Despite somehow surviving in the most hostile of environments, the resistance knows they are not strong enough to ever realistically come out of hiding, and so there have been whispers that their sights have been set on brighter horizons. You've been summoned to a resistance meeting. Attendance is mandatory for all members. Secrecy is of upmost importance. Don't be late.
I ALSO WANT TO NOTE THAT MY CHARACTER ONLY KILLED TWO PEOPLE THIS ENTIRE FUCKING CAMPAIGN AND I FIND THAT EXTREMELY FUNNY KDSJFGHLSKDJFGHSDFGSDKFG
He helped, but good lord man, he was just never able to actually Kill someone because my kills kept being stolen, which is okay-- I just find this fact really fucking funny KJSHDFLKGJSHD
But, uhhh. Yeah. That's all I got that isn't me going on a long tangent on every little detail besides the big things I can remember. Redd was there and now he's in jail for the last 12 years--
And my character has just been Out There for those last 12 years, and he's like. 40 when we start up again LMAO--

Dnd was fun tonight! A town got torn up in a war due to some artifacts being stolen (some of which may or may not have been my pc Solaris’ fault), and we fled that town as fast as we could because we had two PCs (Solaris included) who couldn’t be found by the attacking empire. Solaris put themself in a ring and unintentionally gave themself flashbacks to their time as a magical battery.
So they spent the rest of the session making stew for the party, then having a heartfelt conversation with Rappa (pc she’s trying to romance).
And then she yelled at god and became a wizard (chronurugy)
I’m so proud of my tiefling milf.

[Savor the sting, Madame Guillotine!!!]
Tumblr media
So!!! I’ve decided to grab Reese and plunk him down into the world of Changeling the Dreaming! (his DnD counterpart still exists; think of this as an AU!) He’s meant to be a backup character in case anything happens to Theodore.
In this iteration, his name is Reese Montgomery, a nod to the fact that was his original last name when I first created him. Reese is a Redcap, and due to his love of violence and a search for thrills, he landed himself in some sort of fighting ring. He keeps this a secret from his mother, a calculating CEO who definitely doesn’t approve of his lifestyle (and maybe even the fact he’s not a very masculine individual). His backstory needs to be planned out a bit more. His personality is pretty much the same: “better than you,” flamboyant, bloodthirsty, and totally hiding deep insecurities.
Rowan, his boyfriend/fiance, also exists in this AU as well! It’s unknown whether he’s a changeling or a human yet, but his personality is primarily the same as well, save for the fact he doesn’t want to kill Reese (yet). Rowan is a soft-spoken man and has more restraint than his fiery partner. Given how he’s a dryad in DnD, he probably has some ties to being a park ranger or a gardener or something. He also has a knife collection, which is a nod to his DnD counterpart being an assassin (yes, he’s a dryad assassin. it’s cool).
If Reese ever gets introduced into the current CtD campaign I’m in, his reason for joining is a direct result of the actions the motley took in Session Two, which will be elaborated upon later...

ive seen ppl complain that jon favreau said he doesnt see a conceivable end to the mandalorian and that thats poor planning etc but i think i disagree. because of the format of the show which is little quests and adventures without much of a broader plot, i think it's comparable to like old adventure comics like tintin and dnd campaigns, i think it COULD go on for as long as people are interested in it (and as long as it's good). like it's not like succession which had to end with the dad dying and someone becoming ceo, it's just not that kind of show. not everything has to be a limited series (even though those are often fairly successful bc of careful planning...) therefore in conclusion i would like to continue to see new alien puppets, thank you

Rules: “post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have wips. (You can make your own post or reblog this one!) I have deemed that this isn’t just for writing either. Sketch titles? Comics? DND campaigns? If you have an unfinished project, it counts!!”

My in person dnd campaign's been on pause for the last 6-ish months since we all grew too busy to commit to a weekly game and one person had to full on drop out. The rest of us were finally able to get back together and send off the plot with a finale (and we'll decide what our game plan as a player group going forward is in a month or two when the DM's schedule clears up)
The lead up to this session was that we 4 strangers wondered into a gritty noir city controlled by rival factions: a myriad of gangs, an evil mining corporation, a cult to the dark side of the moon hiding within the mainstream lunar cult, puppet governments, the whole shebang. We get dragged into this rivalry, and in our first session steal some god powered magic juice from the secret cult (our party sorcerer dies, but he gets better with the help of our gang boss). As a reward, our gang boss gives us an inn/restaurant, which is party sorcerer is very good at running. Fast forward, we begin making names for ourselves and (under the steering of our somewhat evil, dramatic, goth sorcerer) start becoming our own faction. As this is happening, an eldritch portal (created from the heart of a dragon that was going to be eaten at a grand feast) to a Lovecraftian plane that is fundamentally incompatible with ours opens in the heart of the city. We escape the initial portal explosion, but the portal has a corrupting effect and gradually begins consuming more and more of the city. This throws all the factions into disarray. Fast forward again, and we have a plan: acquire some spell amplifying pylons, find some powerful enough allies to maintain the pylons, and cast a giant magic circle that contains the seeping eldritch infection. However, our party sorcerer's Raise Dead is failing and his soul is leaking out. On his dead bed once again, he makes some shadowy plans to ensure what happens to his soul when it totally decouples from his body (the player had to quit the campaign). This is half of the part's brain cells now dead.
Finale time: We convince 3 different factions to help with the pylons: a gang of fiends, the city's wizard's college, and the evil mining corporation. Once the circle is going, they gradually shrink it so a party can destroy the heart that created the tear in the world. We then convince the leaders of the cult (plus their moon dragon), a smattering of paladins (including our baker (we saved him from the sewers and then gave him a job at our inn/restaurant)), a PC's uncle, and the body guard of the evil corp's CEO to help up destroy the heart/portal.
As our assembled party draws towards the tower where the heart portal is, we get attacked by puppets of the portal/other world's influence: an amalgamation beast wearing the face of an madness-touched NPC (who liked us and we were trying to help but was the one to set off the portal, and we had to kill him when he tried to infect us and bring us into the hivemind), the infected reanimated corpse of the head of the city guard, and an infected reanimated knight, and small crab-like shards of madness that they spawned.
The battle commences. Damage is done back and forth. Eventually one of the paladins dies, and she begins to reanimate as an infected corpse puppet. The main beast get driven to about 1/3 health and releases its ultimate: a mind blast that nearly downs the entire assembled party. The PC's uncle's head explodes, the cult leader's bff monk gets killed and his corpse begins infecting. The party bard succeeds in castsling a high level Dissonant Whispers on the beast, driving it to run and get a attacks of opportunity from nearly everyone still up. Finally, our baker paladin deals the final blow.
With the enemies killed, the cult leader purges the corruption from her friend's body but despairs that she's out of spell slots to revive him. My artificer offers her the god powered magic steroids that we stole from her in the very first session, and she uses this to bring her friend back.
Those still alive patch ourselves up, take a breathe, and ascend the tower. At the top, our magic circle is now contained just around the pulsing heart. Everyone capable of radiant magic steels themselves and attacks. The heart explodes into a portal to an eldritch world, which sings to all assembled and demands a Wisdom saving throw. My artificer buffs the bard instead of herself (thinking this was a tactical decision as I had good Wis and the bard did not), but fails the check as the other 2 remaining party members succeed. She then rolls fantastical high on initiative and dives through the portal before anyone can grab her to stop her. As she falls into the other world, she hears a voice say "Finally, a new prophetess to bring me into a new world."
This leaves the remaining party with no brain cells and a a collective Int/Wis of about -2
The end

It's been a while since I've written something neat on here Not a lot of fun stuff going on this year so far. Well to write about that is. I'm so close to finishing the Hyperion Cantos. I'm currently taking a break from that series to avoid burnout but during said break I started listening to the audiobook of Stephen King's the Dark Tower series, starting with The Gunslinger. I fell in love instantly, the box set is on its way now. So yeah reading has been fun. I've gotten addicted to Diablo 2 Resurrected to prepare for Diablo 4. I'm very excited about that. I've played the new "souls like" on the block: Wo Long. It's interesting and fun but it didn't catch me like Nioh did. Still very good, so games have been fun I suppose. I've started a new DND campaign with friends from work which is fun. Any readers of this can dm me ideas for items or characters or names of anything if they would like cause as a dm that's the part I have trouble with the most.
I could have written about the trainwreck in Ohio. I wanted to actually but decided against that. I am not an environmental expert. Nor am I an economics expert. To an outsider non-expert like me it really seems that that situation does delve in both areas. In case you, possible reader, were wondering anyways here's my take. It's fucked up and the us government sucks. That's about where my cynical mindview goes nowadays. It's easy AND accurate to say that.
It's also easy and accurate to say that congress is fucking greedy. Here's the meat and potatoes of today's post cause I just wanted to weigh my opinions on today's socio-political fuck up. If you haven't heard, congress is trying to ban the app known as tik tok. To protect Americans data from the CCP. The thing is, they very clearly aren't. I am not here to give you all the info on this, you can IRONICALLY go to tik tok for that. It is the only place I have seen any other opinions and coverage on these congressional hearings. No, the reality is, these hearings and dictations are a backdoor to limit Americans free speech and do competitive research for other social media companies. And, I don't have to show you how it's obvious just Google search who the congressmen and women who drilled the CEO of tik tok invest in.
It's frustrating to watch. They didn't let his answer. They asked him the most bs prewritten questions of all time. They asked him things that the lobbyist obviously asked them to ask. It honestly made the us government and Congress come off as xenophobic and ignorant of evidence and fact. It's embarrassing and overall it's gross and all I can say, is, that congress is greedy and fucked up.
