i didn’t understand what Silver’s profiles meant when they say that he’s rash but i get it now. Silver is so passionate and emotionally unregulated that he crashes out/deals with things too head on and that’s why he’s always with stoic people to calm him down and hold him back

this is what they mean by over the top. Silver is the crashout of peace

I really just love the difference from date-night Tommy to casual-coffee Tommy - he's buttoned up, covered up, hair less done, casual clothes, very 'bro' - making sure that Buck is going to feel comfortable being seen with him after the disaster dinner date.

(nevermind that Buck pretty much immediately asks him out again)

He really saw this guy and was like 'hey this isn't going to happen but friends would still be cool' and presented himself in a way that people around them would think 'friends' and not 'date'.

I just think it's considerate and also kinda shows how Tommy can change his image to suit the situation (i.e. why Eddie didn't know - he was *so* buttoned up for the Vegas flight/fight. 3 layers even!)

"My Dad can Beat Up Your Dad"

I actually decided to keep the title the same because, well, no, "your mom" joke I could make would really fit nearly as well

The episode opens as normal at Beardo's food truck, and as K.O. takes too long to order Chameleon Jr. starts using your mom jokes as insults after failing to attack him, getting visibly annoyed as they bounce right off of him, and he demands an explanation. After all, he must not like his mom if none of this is affecting him. Or maybe she's just THAT lame.

"Well- um, I guess it's probably because-" his face drops. "I don't have a mom..."

There's an awkward silence in the parking lot. But he's quick to recover, "But! I've got a dad! And he's awesome!"

Chameleon Jr. takes the opportunity. "Oh yeah?! Well, my dad could beat up your dad!"

"You're on!"

"Then it's offical. 3:00 sharp, roof of the plaza."

"We'll be there! Oh man, he's gonna love this!"

"I hate this K.O.! I'm very disappointed in you, young man! Consider yourself grounded."

"But Daaaaaaad!"

"Why would you go and do something so reckless? What were you thinking?"

"There was this kid... Chameleon Jr... he kept zinging me, and he called my mom lame, and I guess it kinda got to me cause- cause I don't got a mom"

Laser's face softened. "Oh K.O., Pumpkin... you did have a mom. She was an incredible woman. And an even better hero, and she loved you very much..."

"But, you know, getting mad and escalating a situation is never the BEST idea, Champ."

"Escalate? Escalate?! How can I escalate something when I don't even know what "escalate" means?!"

"Yeah, see that right there? THAT is escalating, kiddo." He hands him a burrito.

"Aw, snappy-whap-whappy! Dragon Dragon Burritos."

"So, I've decided that I will make an appearance on the roof later, but not to fight. I'm gonna face Chameleon Jr.'s dad, but with my words, not my fists. I'll show you how a conflict is de-escalated in the flesh."

"De-escalate? Wassat?"

"It's making a big thing smaller"

"YEAH! Power Battl-"

"K.O., what did we just discuss, little man?"

"Sorrey, dad, I'm just excited to hang out with you." Laser sighs before Chameleon Jr. perks up from across the roof.

"About time you chumps got here."

They scan the roof top but it looks completely empty. Laser confidently places his hands on his hips and smiles at K.O.

"Looks like Chameleon Jr.'s dad took the high road and decided not to show. Maybe we won't have—"

Loud footsteps shake the ground before Chameleon Sr. lands on the roof, throws his briefcase, and pats his son's head.

"Well, never mind! lesson resumed! You just sit back and watch carefully now, K.O." he clicks his tongue and gives his kid a two finger salute before clearing his throat. "Hey there, Mr. Chameleon Sr.! I heard about what our boys did today and though we could show them the right way to solve conflict — by talking things out!"

"Ha! You think I'll let that little squirt of yours slide after zinging my precious boy? I want to fight! Bleh!" He shoots his tongue across the roof and Laser rolls to dodge it.

"Look, I appreciate a good battle as much as anyone! But fighting over something so silly sends the wrong message to our sons, dontcha, think? We should sit down and-" he dodged the kaiju's tail, only for Chameleon Sr. to turn invisible. "Huh-? Mr. Chame- !!!" He manages to dodge again and Chameleon Sr. laughs.

"You're pretty good at not fighting, just like your weakling of a son." Laser stops in his tracks.

"You did not just insult my son." Chameleon Sr. laughs harder

"And If I did? What are you gonna do about it?"

"I'm gonna challenge you... to a POWER BATTLE!"

"HA! Now, what could your puny coward arms and coward legs ever hope to do-" He grabs the kaiju's tongue and punches him, and the two began to fight.

"What do I do? Dad's made this situation even bigger. Wait a minute. That's it!" He grabs the lunchbag of burritos and walks up to Chameleon Sr. "Excuse me"

"Hi, Mr. Chameleon Sr., sir. I'm K.O.. This whole thing started because I took too long to order my food, so I was hoping we could all eat these peace-offering burritos together and forget this whole thing ever happened."

"Aww, that's real sweet of you, kid. The only problem is, I'm a forgetful guy, and I don't like sharing." He eats K.O and the story once again continues as normal.

"Wow. I guess there are all sorts of different families, huh?"

"There sure are, sweetie. Looks like you've learned a valuable lesson today, K.O."

"Yeah. Seems like inside every bully is a big, sweaty, troubled man."

"True. But also, you learned you shouldn't escalate situations you can't handle." He taps his nose and chuckles

"So does this mean I'm not grounded anymore?"

"Oh-ho-ho-no, you're still grounded." He laughs, ruffling K.O.'s hair

"But Daaaad, you escalated things with a power battle!"

"Huh, well then I guess I'm grounded too!"

"Huh?" He hops into his dad's arms and laughs "you grounded yourself!"

"Welp. Guess I can't take you out for surprise ice cream, either. Oh, well."

Laser laughs as K.O. rocks back and forth in his arms

"Noooo! Unground yourself. Unground yourself!"

This was a really fun episode to do in full! So much so I accidentally made one too many screenshot edits

Although I'm sorry it's taken so long to start up on asks again, I've been distracted with work and the campaign. Expect more to be answered over the next couple days

Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog meet at the soccer field where the two rivals and their teams will face off. On Mario's team is Mario's brother Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Toad, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Bowser and his son Bowser Jr, while Sonic's team has Sonic, Tails the fox, Amy Rose, Knuckles the Echidna, Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, Blaze the Cat, Shadow the Hedgehog, Silver the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, and E-123 Omega.

An altogether astonishing movie, Wendell B. Harris Jr.'s Chameleon Street is raw, clumsy, funny, mordant, and almost as interesting for what happened to the movie itself as for anything that happens on the screen. It was born of its writer-producer-director-star's fascination with a real life con man, William Douglas Street Jr., who managed to pass himself off as a reporter, a doctor, a lawyer, an athlete, and a Yale student. Only once did Street try to make real money with this talent; the rest of the time he did it because he could, which ultimately wound up sending him to prison. Harris's exploration of Street's career is a kind of docudrama, and it won him the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. What it didn't win him was fame as a filmmaker, which Sundance had done for directors like Quentin Tarantino, David O. Russell, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Steven Soderbergh, among others. Hollywood showed its interest only in buying the rights to remake the movie, but not to distribute it. At the Sundance festival, Chameleon Street's chief competitor for the award was To Sleep With Anger, a film by another Black director, Charles Burnett, that was picked up for distribution by the Samuel Goldwyn Company. It's a more conventional movie, featuring stars like Danny Glover, while Harris's film is largely performed by non-professional actors. After three decades of underground circulation, Chameleon Street was restored in 2021, distributed and released on video. It can now be seen as a pointed look at the Black experience and as a commentary on the quest for identity and status, not only within the film but in the film's history.

Your backstory of Bart is so so so interesting and MAN I'd love to read a prequel of it or something because BOY it sounds like he went through it

And his time travel shenanigans being public record in the future?? I can't help but think that he was the one that inspired the Legion to build time machines, that'd be so cool

And GAH his conversations with Imra and Reep?! He's a hero through and through, but we know our boi, and he's going to get that information one way or another, so interesting to see how it all started and where they are now

I feel so bad for him though, he's not having a great time lately, hopefully Ed can cheer him up

yes i really would love to write something like that some time !!! i have the major events of his childhood roughly mapped out for such a story (including what happened with Owen, Jenni, Meloni, Don etc) so it’s definitely been on my mind. With how i’ve drafted the Owen Bart fic that i’ve mentioned in the past, i included most of it there cause it would really explain the specifics of my HC of their troubled relationship, so hopefully i’ll write about it sooner rather than later 👀

since i try to roughly base lore on “canon” content i think time travel is just a standard thing in Legion era that came about in different ways. For ex like mentioned by Reep in the fic, their “guy” i.e Brainiac 5 builds the Legion their time spheres. But the one LOSH used was in a museum, and from comics the origin is kinda complicated but some other guy has been mentioned to have built it. Then in YJ we see that Metron keeps Lors time sphere for himself and plays with it to set Lor up.

Basically quite a few different aliens and ppl are in involved with time travel stuff, but i like to think for Earth and human contributions Bart (and in my HC the Thawnes) are significantly involved. time travel is major part of Thawne/Bart lore and Bart is the person most associated with in the series, dubbed Space and Time expert etc. Considering his history with Timelines and the Reach, I don’t imagine it wouldn’t be public record at some point in the very far future i.e 31st century.

I rlly tried my best with the Legion conversation because i wanted to try to make it in a way where i can fit it into canon themes and not have my HCs make it vary too much but kinda naturally slot in, so i’m rlly happy u liked it <3

yeah everytime i think of bart i just think this guy needs a bed like now LOL
