hot take: i don't know how you can claim to be a Christian artist and still swear in your music. I understand swearing in real life, we all slip up and have things we need to work on, but when you're making music it's different. you had the time between when you wrote that song, got in the recording booth, listened to multiple takes, mastered the song, & finalized everything for the day of release to be convicted about the fact that you had that kind of speech directly adjacent to God's holy name in your music. bluntly, I don't think there are any excuses. I think too many artists are trying too hard to still seem relatable and down to earth that they disregard some very obvious sins. we are not here to be relatable... quite the opposite. we are here to be set apart and follow the word of Christ.
“Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be." James‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ ‭

I don’t know what to say exactly thank you God. This picture reminds me of God & Myself these days.

I learnt that God is really always replacing what He removes with so much better - just like in the Book.

Not for a minute was I forsaken. I feel like I broke through a wall that I can never return through.

i made a chinese hiphop playlist btw, with the music i found after searching for a bit. spotify link if anyone's interested.
i like the sounds of all the songs, esp the beats :D
most songs are in dialects and not standard mandarin so they won't help me study but whatever
a chinese speaker i know told me that chinese hiphop is often in dialects bc hiphop is rebellious and the government wants dialects to go away and this is SO cool. i wish there was a khh rapper who rapped in busan dialect :D :D where i'm from nobody even sings in our dialect bc it's so hated by everyone who thinks they're educated (incl ppl whose 1st language it is)
another chinese speaking friend said they couldn't understand a word in any of the songs and the tones are missing when you rap so it doesn't make much sense
i asked chatgpt to give me standard mandarin rap songs to study but it couldn't
i asked chatgpt to give me any chinese hiphop/trap songs and the same ones kept coming out, most not available where i am. (i also asked for khh playlists with specific details as a test and it failed miserably :()

For the longest while we jamming in the party
And you whining on me
Pushing everything
Right back on top of me, yeah
But if you think you're gonna get away from me
You better change your mind
You're going home
You're going home with me tonight
Let me hold you
Girl, caress my body
You got me going crazy, you
Turn me on
Turn me on
Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On
My problem with dance music is that they sneak toxic lyrical content under these fun beats and us dancing to it is us approving the message, consciously or subconsciously subscribing to the harmful ideology that produces such behaviour and attitude towards others.
Regaaeton, Hip hop, Rnb, Ndombolo, many more genres and styles, they sound good but say things that I dont condone. It makes me stand up straight, make a grimace in disgust and I enjoy the song less to the point where I stop listening to most artists . Sometimes I am handpicking secular music , sometimes I ditch it entirely for Christian Hip Hop with great sound! Because a lot has improved since the mid-10s when I first gave Christian Hip Hop a chance to evade "Illuminati music". But the sound wasnt my cup of tea, the wordplay was too simple and the emotions in me weren't stirted up enough by this tame and timid music. God is the Lion of Juda, but the lion who seeks to devour sheep seemingly had all the good music. Now I know that I will always have Congolese christian music and international gospel from Kenya or the USA (whether it's Kirk Franklin/Mary Mary, Gospel groups, choirs or hillsong). But what about music with beats and rhymes? What about riffs and runs in music that you dont pray to? Cant you surround ourselves with God's music throughout the whole day?
I am happy to see the improvements and progress of Christian hip hop amd Christian Rnb. I am a new fan of many artists ,some of which are active in the ministry through song or as youth pastor who deveral years already.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can share the songs I like andnthe artists that I discovered since my rediscovery.
Still, some model their sound a lot after secular templates and trends (a christian Drake, Eminem, J cole or Kendrick Lamar).
Same goes for singers who sound like male or female rnb singers or pop stars in the secular music industry.
Some like this "Pendant" music because their listening habits dont really have to change . But I prefer individuals with own sounds and words and a drive snd a vision that is 1 of 1.
The souls still being reached and saved, so the main focus is the world of unbelivers for some artists who want to evangelize through their music.
Next year, I'll share my christian music that I created as an Artist in the form of albums.
While I must admit that Jesus came to heal and save us and not to enjoy the company of the righteous, I feel like we need music to goes deeper into the reality of thebfaith and the mystery of the Word of God. I want to make music for the believers who want to go forward and get even closer to God after being saved and called Child Of God.
What do you do after you give your life?
What can you learn in the Bible?
How can youblive a fulfillingsoirtual life?
How tonresolve inner conflicts by having worldly ambitions, sinful flesh and temptations by Satan?
How to repent and rededicate yourself to Christ?
And many more questions about how to live as a christian and think about God, Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
I want to help us with what I have learned from my father who is a Pastor and what my life experiences as lifelong Christian have informed me with. I will heal and deepen my own faith as me making Christian art and deciding to share my testimony forces me to reflect on my actions and the longings of my heart and desires of the flesh. So maikng Christian music is not to brag about my Holiness, but a reminder of my human flaws and virtues, my values and vision, and above God's faithful love for his imperfect child.
Here are few videos of my Christian music:

"The iPads exist not only to placate unruly children, but to pacify intolerant adults (both parents and non-parents) whose brains have been so cooked by their own devices that they’re unable to handle anything remotely unpleasant.
I sort of understand—during our fertility struggles it was very hard for me to deal with kids in public and I frequently avoided early dinners for that reason. But generally speaking, I think that because of their own phones, people are just constantly on edge, irritated, and eager to be mad at someone (a tendency reinforced by phones.) And while it’s unreasonable to be angry at a toddler for acting like a toddler, it’s extremely easy to be angry at their lazy parent, who’s just letting them be bored and annoying! It may seem like a stretch, but I’ve started running an experiment wherein I check in with my emotions when I have my phone nearby (even if I’m not using it) versus if my phone is locked away in another room. I’m remarkably more patient with my kids, and less anxious, if my phone is nowhere near me.
I’m not advocating that parents do nothing, of course. Sometimes, like I said, taking a kid out of a restaurant (or other place) is all you need. But sometimes, that doesn’t work, and you’re stuck between the options of scaring your kids into submission or poisoning their brains with Hogi and Pinkfong. Setting the expectation that you are personally responsible for entertaining your kids in constant, inconvenient, analog ways is not going to be sustainable unless you have very self-sufficient kids who don’t actually need you to entertain them anyway. And behind every nine-year-old who can sit quietly and read a comic book at a restaurant is a six-year-old who whined about being bored and through that boredom, figured out how to enjoy comic books. I remember kids being so bored in school when I was younger that they’d turn their eyelids inside out and eat paper.
I also know some people will say that if you don’t trust your kids not to be annoying public, you should simply not be in public. That’s pretty absurd, given that if you have multiple children it means you have to hibernate for up to ten years, maybe more. It also sets an expectation that parents with autistic kids should just recede, perhaps forever.
Our options with non-unicorn young children are to let them be bored, scare them, or give them screens. Letting them be bored doesn’t mean ignoring them from the moment you arrive in the public space, but a bored child is not a fire that needs to be put out—not by parents, or by random adults dangling keys. And ultimately, kids are kids. Both parents and non-parents are too addled by our own screens to be able to deal with annoying kid behavior without defaulting to some kind of maladaptive response ourselves—for the non-parents, it’s assuming any parent with imperfectly-behaving children is a bad parent and getting off on purely imagined superiority. They’re literally just doing the thing. They’re Doing Phone in real life, finding a main character to hate from across the airport lounge. They’re worse than iPad kids—they’re Phone Adults.
