Zero Boys put on a spectacular show for a select 100 or so rockers in the intimate environs of the Liar's Club last night, and it was a gas, man!

Musically, Halsey is the one person I’m most thankful for. Her unapologetically bold lyrics accompanied with grungy sound in Badlands to the sweet, to the dancy forbidden-love story-telling in HFK to the melodic lullaby of lyrics in Manic, exposing her real/authentic self, to the theme and sound concept album from IICHLIWP, I find myself reaching to songs from every era daily. I still scream, from the top of my lungs, Colors when I think about flames that died. I still dance when I hear Heaven in Hiding and need to remind myself that I am the fire. I still cry listening to Without Me. And Graveyard. And I transcend into another reality when I listen to 1121– probably my favorite song she’s ever put out.

Each album so different than the last. But her vocals and lyrics, so raw. I don’t know how but it’s so easy to identify parts of my life in most of her songs.

I hope one day to meet her, and tell her how thankful I am to have discovered her music several years ago. Who knew that an accidental listen to Castle would turn me into the fan girl I am today.

I hope when I fall in love, whenever that may be, it hits me the same. A love at first sight/listen that just makes sense.

Seeing her perform at Hard Rock Indiana, second row center, this year, was one of the most incredible moments of my life. I talk and think about it often.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy new year filled with new music. Im so geeked for H5/A2 whenever that may be. I have a feeling it’ll be her best yet. And I hope when she comes back to Chicsgo, I can find myself in the front row… sobbing… again.

Who doesn’t love Running Away? I found my copy around 1995 in the back of a bin at a store on Clark Street that mostly sold used VHS tapes. The same spot I found my Donald Byrd Places and Spaces. Last night I picked up my cherished yet pathetic copy of Lifeline and thought to myself that I deserve a perfect copy. Since first pressings do not go for that much, I ordered a factory sealed copy that I will enjoy for another 25 years.

“Whatcha doing over there?” Ethan comes from the bedroom to see you sitting at the counter, filling out some paperwork.

“Paperwork for work.” You shrug as Ethan wraps himself around you from behind.

“Are you signing them Y/n Choi?” He asks, looking at your neat signature and initials.

“Well it is my last name now, or did you forget that we got married?” You tease, holding his face and pressing a kiss to his jaw.

“I just don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. Seeing our names together.” He hums and kisses your shoulder, looking at his last name next to yours.

“Well you better. It’s gonna be on my drivers license soon, our mail will be addressed that way, and I sign a lot of paperwork.” You spin the stool and wrap your arms around him.

“I can’t wait.” He smiles, rubbing his thumb across your jaw.
