I almost forgot I wanted to post my first shots of Arielle (and Mina) with the graphics update and she's so pretty! Like she's even more beautiful now and I'm dying. (Now I have to get shots of Iivari and another character I've made.)
I was doing the Heavensward MSQ here, so she's in her first (and current) glam for it with her new hairstyle! (Tataru's already mourned Arielle's beautiful long hair, but she does very much approve of the new look.) I do plan on giving her a few more glams for Heavensward later down the line, so I'm really looking forward to those.✨✨ (Mina gets her own little hat to stay extra warm because of course Arielle is going to make sure her best friend is nice and cozy during their travels.💖💖)

So i did some Stupid Fuckshit this past month in final fantasy ffxiv: I wrote a character who i wanted to be a reaper through MSQ for story reasons.
This means that in order to accomplish what I want i need to be reach level 70 in a combat class, which was Paladin so I could start in Ul'dah and get fast queues.
I allowed myself some concessions: having access to the first three dungeons would grant us access to the leveling roulette, and Sylph Management will grant us a job, which makes the prospect of grinding much much more tolerable. So i allowed myself to progress the story just enough to move from Gladiator to Paladin.
It took me a total of 28 days (Oct 8th to Nov 4th), and 2 days, 6 hours, 12 minutes of playtime. Just under a month isn't bad, especially considering i spent almost a full week out of town and unable to play at all.
In that time I primarily used daily leveling roulettes, and despite unlocking PvP far earlier only used PvP for the last 5 days. Hunting logs, minimal levequests, every sidequest I could find, and pretty much any FATE I stumbled into was how I spent my time. Also, lots of Palace of the Dead. It was interesting! I'm glad I did it, and I'm glad I don't hate Reaper (I didn't have the good sense to give it a proper test on my main first) but I can solidly say I do NOT recommend this! What the fuck!
If you do want to do this though, here's my advice:
- just start doing your daily frontlines as soon as possible the exp is no joke. It's also the only other roulette you have access to besides the basic leveling roulette, and you will want that scaled exp
- pursue challenge log entries!!! I didn't realize how good these were until the LAST DAY they got me from about 1/4 of the way to level 70 to level 70 so so fast. The chocobo companion and FATE challenge entries pair very well together, so pick up some gyshal greens! It'll also make soloing those fates much faster (ask me how i know)
-rotate between activities, PotD runs, FATEs and hunting log entries are well and good, but if you don't want to feel like you're going to start fist fighting every goddamn enemy personally you also gotta spend time doing other things that are fun. That's part of why I did so many sidequests! They have lots of love and charm in them, and it's a nice break from harsh grinding. I also really spent some time learning gpose which was super fun!!
-dont divide your time between multiple classes if you can at all help it. Honestly, I'd really recommend staying away from conjurer/white mage because it's much harder to do solo potd runs with (I did lots of potd content solo out of convenience). If you are going to pick up a new class, pick up something like RDM, GNB or any other class that starts at a high level and fully commit to it till you hit your goal
-uhhh, be yourself, have fun, and test your goal class BEFORE you do this
#ffxiv#ff14#final fantasy xiv#lyra.txt#long post#if youre wondering my character is a garlean who was born and raised in the reapers guild :)#extremely funny to put a garlean in as the WoL imo

novuscaelum:
As each person spoke, azure orbs darted between the four adults, internally attempting to figure out who was who on the male side of things. “Nice to meet you guys. I’m Novus and local? Um…sorta. I do live here but this is my first time at the festival without a chaperone.” Should he tell them straight off that he was the Prince? No, better not. It might cause hysteria and possibly fangirls to appear if there were even any to begin with. A thought came to him though. “Hey! What if I show you guys around and we can hang out? We can explore all the stuff here together.” he said with a smile, hoping that maybe his butt wouldn’t get kicked so back punishment-wise for ditching his Shield when he returned home. Four chaperones were better than one after all.
“Sounds like you guys aren’t local though. You said you live on some kind of island, right? And Chocobos…Boy, I wish Uncle Prompto was here. You’d really like him since he knows tons of stuff about 'em too. I’ve only seen pictures and many one or two up close when I was really little but they’re pretty strong. Did you know that they can run up to almost 60 miles per hour? They’re probably the fastest or at least second fastest animal in Insomnia.”
Figuring that the others wanted to spot the giant birds first, Novus decided to head in the general direction of the racetrack. “We can go this way, and if you really wanna see something cool I can show you a whole view of the course but…uh…” He didn’t want to sound rude but the next thing out of his mouth would make sense once they arrived at their destination. “You might want to hold onto the guy with the eyepatch when we get there. There are some stairs involved where we’re gonna go I don’t want anybody to get hurt, y'know?”
A distant horn blew signaling that another race was going to begin about an hour from now. “Okay, if we’re gonna go we need to go now. C'mon!” With a grin, he ran on ahead a ways waiting while checking back over his shoulder to see if the rest of the group was keeping up.
Calista’s eyes lit up as Novus explained about the Chocobos. “Oh, really!? That’s amazing!” Mildly concerning that the other didn’t have a chaperone, but at least he knew the area so that wasn’t too bad, right? “We’d be happy to stick with you. Thank you so much!”
Arganan sighed at the mention of being held onto. “Well, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to be careful in case. Asthar...?”
“Arganan and I will catch up with the rest of you.” Asthar managed, glancing between Arganan and the others. The horn sounding in the distance startled Therius slightly as he glanced around.
As Novus ran on ahead, Calista also broke into a dash after him. Therius quickly dashed after Calista, with Asthar and Arganan following not too far behind -at least enough that Novus could look back and see them and they could spot him that is.
“Wasn’t there something in the pamphlet about Chocobo racing!?” Calista mused.
Therius nodded, keeping up with her. “I do recall reading about that after we arrived, Lady Calista. Novus, why is the city called Insomnia, anyway? It makes it sound like no one sleeps here!”
novuscaelum:
“Lost ‘em!” Novus couldn’t help but snicker a bit as he darted through the streets of Insomnia without a Shield in tow. It was a stupid move really but one that was necessary.
The young royal was determined to have a good time on his own terms with barely any supervision, just like a normal kid. As far as the ball went, he’d make an appearance with his parents when the time came but for just one single night he wanted to enjoy himself. He could talk to Noctis about what he’d done later when he got the chance, plus Novus was pretty sure that Ignis had a tale or two up his sleeve somewhere about how the king had pulled similar things in the past.
The streets were a far cry from how they were usually, lights seemed to be on almost every corner, snack stalls, and souvenir vendors called out attempting to sell their wares to make a quick buck. People pouring in from far and wide to celebrate his Dad’s birthday… It was quite a sight indeed.
Hearing distant warks of Chocobos, Novus raced over to the pens attempting to get a quick look at the steeds, or he would have if he hadn’t bumped into somebody. “Oops! S-sorry 'bout that!” he apologized giving the group of adults a small awkward smile. “Um…a-are you guys from around here-or?” They had to be here for the ball, he figured, everybody was. The only question was where…
Please don’t let it be a group of diplomats.
@countarganan
The four were surprised to see this stranger bump into Calista in particular out of the four, but at least he was quick to apologize.
Calista offered him a gracious smile. “No need to worry,” She managed, “And no, we’re not from around here. My name is Calista - myself, my uncle, and General Asthar and Sir Therius here are from Lazulis Island.”
“It’s a pleasure to er, bump into you, but are you one of the locals?” Asthar inquired. “We were just discussing what part of this festival to check out first, and we would appreciate your recommendations.”
Arganan knew that Asthar had a point - it was all of their first time being in Insomnia, let alone attending this festival, and having some pointers would be useful for the rest of the occasion. His metal hand moved to brush a few strands of hair out of his own face so he could see the new stranger a little more clearly. “And...I’m sure my niece would appreciate knowing more about the Chocobos.”
Calista could only chuckle at that. “They look so fun!”
“I guessed it was similar to being on horseback, but just on a two-legged creature than just one.” Therius admitted. “Though I could be wrong...”

Hello! I'm really impressed with you speed running all of your alts to get the Regalia! Would you mind sharing any tips or tricks that got you through so much ARR fast? - A fellow alt-happy Eorzean
Oh wow hey! Thanks for the ask!
One REALLY big help is doing stuff on the New and Prefered servers because the Road to 80 buff is just WAY TOO GOOD. I'm working on the story on some alts and by the end of ShB, only doing the story, I can get about 3 jobs to 80. If you have character on congested servers that you don't mind moving around you can move them to a new or preferred server for FREE and get the Road to 80 buff for 30 days (It lasts longer on characters made directly on those servers tho.)
There are some bits that I like to watch on every run through, but skipping the cutscenes is an obvious must. I play on PS4, and put on a show while I grind most of the time.
If you have the road buff, when you get to dungeons, instead of queueing in the Dutyfinder set up a Partyfinder for your dungeons. I always set them to one slot other that myself, and then set the minimum ILV to 500. This will ensure only higher level players will join.
Into the description type: "Unsynced for MSQ progression." or "Unsyned, help me get my alt through MSQ?"
Players are usually happy to help folks working through the MSQ. This works on every Datacenter.
If you don't speak Japanese and you have an alt on the JP servers and you want quick clears, use the auto translate feature for the phases "Unrestricted party" and "Main Scenario Quest". Also if you don't speak Japanese, Auto translation "Nice to meet you" at the start and "Thank you" at the end of duties.
Make sure you set your DF to Unrestricted before you queue so you don't accidentally queue up regularly instead and always \readycheck before you go in.
Most dungeons with a LV 90 player are less than five mins and a lot of the time they won't even roll on the gear so you get good upgrades along the way. If they rush through and you don't have time to grab all the chests you can always \return at the end to get the chests that were not grabbed. If there are mobs still in the dungeon, don't worry, if you sprint and kite them you can grab everything before they kill you, then respawn and leave through the exit at the start or the menu.
The ONLY duties I don't do Unsynced for is for Castrum Meridianum, Praetorium and Porta Decumana, because with they force cut scenes even if you do it unsynced I don't like to ask people to sit through them so I just do them normally.
IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS JUST AS THEM FOR HELP UNSYNCING. I love helping my friends unsync stuff. Hell, I love helping anyone unsync stuff. Takes very little time.
If you don't have the road buff, make sure you do your leveling roulette, and queue for the dungeons. Unfortunately, the end of ARR has a LV jump around the time you get to the Rhytahtyn solo instance and if you skip duties you'll likely be underleveled.
A few characters I ended up having to run through Aurum Vale to get to 50 just so I could get through the final strech of stuff. I love Aurum Vale personally, but I know it's not everyones jam.
Buy a stack of cheap food early on so you can keep your 3% exp buff going. My personal favorites are Eggs, Orange juice and Plums.
DON'T FORGET We get Vesperbay tickets on new characters now to returning to the waking sands is no issue. They recently updated it to you get 99 total over the course of ARR. If you made a character BEFORE they added the Vesperbay Teleportation Tickets, don't run from Horizon, Teleport to Limsa Lominsa, go to the Arcanist guild via the aethernet and then take the Ferry to Vesperbay. It's pretty quick on PS4, if you're on a Toaster it might be faster to go from Horizon because of less loading.
I recommend stopping by Camp Tranquil to get your Chocobo the ability to fight (My Fiestly little Chocobo) when you hit 30. Also grab a stack of 99 Gysahl greens when you're at Bent Branch doing that. You don't have to finish the quest to be able to summon you chocobo, so if you're in a rush there is that. I always level my chocobos in Healing first. IMO Choco cure is the most useful chocobo ability early on.
Don't forget to do your job quests, a lot of them will sync up with stuff you're doing in the MSQ, and when you get to 45 the gear boost is substantial even if it's only useful for those few levels to 50. DPS can probably get away with ignoring it, but for tanks and healers GEAR IS SO IMPORTANT, especially if you're not unsyncing stuff.
You get some upgrades from the story but the ARR stuff is all normal quality, it's not the greatest. There is a Jeweler NPC in Ul'dah that I recommend grabbing accessories from, cause I've had times where I'm 50 and still have dang LV5 ring cause the MSQ doesn't give any accessories and if your RNG is bad in dungeons it can be pretty bad. (you will get a acessory from unlocking AV though, that is nice!)
If you have some of the preorder earrings, make sure you visit your the mail moogle for that. If you've been playing a long time and have stuff like the Tidus and Yuna outfits from fanfest that get sent to every character, Grab those outfits too. They're good at the early levels and give a pretty good EXP boost to lvl 30. (Don't recommend wearing them in dungeons past like the first three though)
Of course, most important of all. Take care of yourself. I've been dealing with long-covid for years now and if causes me no end of issues, but I can get into the zone and focus hard with MSQ grinds. Self care is so important. I'm pretty good about getting up and stretching and getting myself what I need, but sometimes I'm in the zone and it gets bad. I am lucky I have a partner that helps me keep up with that stuff too. If he gets up to move around and go somewhere, I usually take that as my time to give myself a break.
Setting myself a little 3 hour timer for water breaks is something I'm working on and seems to be good. I try to not keep too much food around my gaming area because if I'm going to eat something I'd like to get up and move around too. If I do keep something nearby, I try to have fruit and not like snacks. Doesn't always work but trying is important.
I hope that in here somewhere you find something useful! HAPPY ALT-ing!!!

Request List #1
For my own reference and for the benefit of those who have submitted characters, I'm gonna go through the oldest ten or so request asks still in the inbox and list out every character along with whether I've accepted or declined adding them. I'll likely only post this first list for now, and once I get through making polls for each accepted character on it, I'll make another list
I'd rather do this than answer like ten asks in a row lmao. That being said, the requests!
King Kazma from Summer Wars: Accepted!
Meowscular Chef from Monster Hunter: Accepted!
Tux, the Linux mascot: Accepted! Love to see a penguin get added to the queue <3
Margaret (mouse form) from Mice Tea: Accepted!
Seikret from Monster Hunter Wilds: I think I'm gonna have to decline this one, since I'm not sure of their sapience. But I'm just going off what I'm reading about them on the Monster Hunter wiki. If any Monster Hunter fans who are more knowledgeable about these guys want to offer an opinion about whether or not they'd pass the Harkness Test, let me know! (ability to meaningfully communicate doesn't have to be with WORDS, I mean I accept Pokemon here, but I'd still like if they have enough understanding of human language that they can understand what's being asked of them and consent, ya know)
The Chocobo from Final Fantasy: Unfortunately. Similar problem as the above. THEY'RE CUTE. ABSOLUTELY. I just.. hh I don't want to start discourse over them Just being animals or if they can consent or- yeah idk. Again, opinions can certainly be offered on this, but just in case I might have to decline it.
Daffy Duck from Looney Tunes: Abtholutely
Machoke from Pokemon: Yes!
Arte Fact from Webkinz: Accepted!
Wolf O'Donnell from Star Fox: Accepted!
Montgomery Gator from FNAF: ACCEPTED, ROCK AND ROLL!

FFXIV UPDATE! Another long one, so there will be many screenies under the cut :3
First up: I attempted to do the fall guys event! But my internet disconnected me and I could not compete so alas, that shall have to wait :(
Does anyone know for how long this event will last, and if it'll come back yet again?
Moenbryda :D
These DPS queues are ROUGH. While queueing for the hard versions of the 3 primal fights, I had 3 separate tanks drop and I ended waiting over an hour combined. I miss my healer queues
I got recognized during the Shiva fight :)
And now... it's Haurchfaunt time <3
Also, the foreshadowing sure goes crazy in this game
And if you've been following my journey, I'm sure you're wondering where my Hyur Vash has gone... Alas, I received one too many free fantasia's and became an au'ra. frankly it was a spur of the moment decision but i have an extra fantasia for when i want to become vash again so not all is lost :]
here are some screenies of my new WoL, whom i consider to be transmasc <3
anyways back to what you're here for... during the hard version of the Titan fight, i fucked up. a LOT. like, died 5-6 times. What can I say? It was late, i was tired, and i'd completely forgotten the mechanics because it's been so long T_T Also I got incredibly unlucky and was the only player to be targeted by that one move that entombs you in rock, so I had to wait for my party to bail me out. And yet somehow by the end of it, I still ended up getting a player commendation.
Quite frankly I wanted to refund it to whoever gave it to me, because that was the WORST performance I've put forth yet.
Anyways. I once again got cock-blocked and had to FINALLY finish the crystal tower quests. So uh. Yeah. Got eaten by a dog. Killed by a giant floating eye. Watched Graha take a nap and remembered I won't be seeing that guy for a long time. You know, the good stuff.
I also now have over 4 days worth of time put into this play through :)
And while I was shopping around at Revanant's Toll, another Au Ra popped up next to me and our chocobo started running into each other. When I exited my menu to get a better photo they stopped :(
Bye Moenbryda :( I wasn't terribly sad to see you go in all honesty because you did not get as much screen time as I remembered. I teared up a bit but didn't end up actually crying and the whole funeral felt a bit awkward because like, what do I actually really know about you...
And in today's episode of Minfilia continues to make me mad:
That's wonderful Minfilia! A shame I can't confide in anyone myself because you forbade me from telling the others about Midgardsormr yoinkin the blessing of light! Who's MY pillar of strength huh?? It's even better because Alphinaud says this:
Just wielding me like a weapon and I got no say in the matter :(
anyways... Hi Estinien! Quite frankly I don't remember how my last Dragoon quest left off because it's been a minute, but didn't you disappear? After being possessed or somethin? I'm VERY excited to play through Heavensward as a Dragoon. No other expansion has unique class dialogue do they?
Now for a speed run: got accused of regicide. Wanted to punch Teledji in the face. Wanted to punch Ilberd in the face. And I'm already missing my fellow scions... Hope I get to see you minor characters again because I'll be for real, I don't remember what happens to you!
ok so funny story... ive hit the photo limit. So uh. there will be more screenies in a reblog

Dawntrail but just gameplay things.
The login queues are so nice in the morning.
It's also really nice to be doing shared FATEs when lots of other people are doing them so they clear fast! In addition to my usual habit of collecting sidequests and aether currents as I go, this time I'm also getting each area to Rank 2 in FATEs as soon as possible so I can pick up the riding map. It's only six FATEs to clear, and it makes riding around doing sidequests so much nicer, especially when I know I won't be able to unlock flying in the early areas for a while.
I also really recommend getting the riding maps if the updated chocobo movement bothers you--to me it feels a lot smoother and less clunky with the mount speed increase, and it doesn't take long to unlock it.

Pinned Post? Fancy!
I just realized there is an option to pin posts here and it seems to be encouraged by now. That has really gone over my head. One should think being here as long as I have been, I should know that. But I did not. Personally, I blame the Spriggans for it. So, here it is. I might switch it out later on with another updated post of this. For now, this will have to do.
And what do you do here?
This blog is mostly me posting screenshots and reblogging amazing things from other people. I simply love browsing through this community's content and love the overall positivity. That being said, I do not want to engage in ooc drama. I am just super tired of it and stay away from it as much as possible. But I am just human, too, so sometimes it might not work as much as I hope. Doing my best, though. We all have enough problems outside of the game, let us just focus on having fun here.
Writing stuff?
I might write something now and then, but since I have got a lot going on in life, I tend to spend more time playing the game than doing things outside of it. But it changes from time to time. I love writing prompts, but too often lack time or energy (or both) to do them. So most of the time I sadly fall behind. I love interacting with all of you, but anxious me sometimes gets too nervous or needs a horrendous amount time to push that "post" button. In my defense: It is a really scary button, is it not?
Hey, didn't I post that several weeks ago? Why reblogging it now?
If you are confused why I sometimes reblog stuff from you way later: I usually work with a posting queue, because I do not want to spam everybody's dashboard. Also I strongly believe a little push a bit later in time is also a nice boost for stuff to get some more traction again.
Here is my carrd!
My carrd has been heavily reworked over the past months and I am pretty proud of it. I may still change a few things here and there, but I think it is a good starting point for learning more about my character - or me. At least a little bit.
