I really wanted to get an actual complete piece done, but more than that, I wanted to get something done on time for this girlie. So I had to do something last minute since I was still transitioning to out of the sketching phase. And of all the things to inspire me…truly, did not think it’d be my steampunk AU. It’s a pretty design, though. Fun to draw.
Anywho, delayed it long enough, but happy birthday to Yukiko! She deserves more than a doodle, but alas…
Gakushuu and Karma had a somewhat pensive sketch with theirs along with another one with a cat, so I decided to combine and continue the trend here.
Oh, yeah: the kitty from Kanzaki in Wonderland, Tinkerbell? Yeah, she’s in here, too—actually before I even decided to put her in that AU. Her name either stays Tinkerbell or just Tinker; I’m not too sure still.

FAMILY TREE, EVERYONE!
Tumblr media
Alright, so, we're also gonna talk genetics here. This is gonna get lengthy so buckle up. I posted all the videos on making this darn thing on my TikTok, but one cannot explain genetics enough in five 10 minutes videos. Or at least I can't, and the family tree that shows how the original founders of my five clans get to the point of Floodclan's current leadership was the best (and longest) family tree to show how weird cat genetics can get! Also gonna get into some lore on this that I had no time to add in the videos.
Do note: I will not be talking about fur length.
Starting with Thicketstar, she's a chocolate ticked tabby with no white spotting. Both of her youngest children, Embercloud and Sunnystar, have at most 50% white spotting and are calicos.
Embercloud is a chocolate caliby (a tabby calico) while Sunnystar is a carmelized blue calico (fun fact a carmelized diluted red/cream is an 'apricot' for those who didn't know.)
So, basic cats colors to look at here alone:
Black is most dominant (dilute is blue)
Chocolate is recessive to Black (dilute is lilac)
Cinnamon is recessive to Chocolate (dilute is fawn)
Red is sex-linked (dilute is cream). Red cats pretty much are a 'hey, let's not let the eumelanin(what's responsible for Black, chocolate, and cinnamon) show and let the phaeomelanin (what's responsible for red) shine on through!'
So if a tom inherits the black gene thanks to having a chocolate dad and a black calico mom, but also gets that one X chromosome that's red from mom, that's going to be a red tom than, if they have a calico daughter, could still pass on that black gene and make that daughter a black calico. Probably a better way to explain it, but that's how I'm going to.
So then, starting with Thicketstar, she's a chocolate ticked tabby with no white spotting. Both of her youngest children, Embercloud and Sunnystar, have at most 50% white spotting and are calicos.
Embercloud is a chocolate caliby (a tabby calico) while Sunnystar is a carmelized blue solid calico (fun fact a carmelized diluted red/cream is an 'apricot' for those who didn't know.)
So already, the previous explanation is in play.
Sunnystar being a caramelized blue means both Thicketstar and Sunnystar's father carried both the dilute gene so that Sunnystar could be blue, but also the caramel trait. The caramel trait is also recessive like dilute. In order for Sunny to be blue, means her red tom dad who also has a lot of white spotting would have been a black or blue tom if he didn't have that special red 'X.'
Sunnystar is mates with Moonstar, a seal Bengal spotted lynx colorpoint. This means Moonstar has the colorpoint gene, obviously, but is also genetically a black cat. Since he's a tabby though, which is dominant to Sunnystar's solid, that means if we assume he carries a recessive solid gene, it's a 50-50 chance for their kids to be solids.
Which is true! Their daughter Blueclaw is a solid blue! Moonstar doesn't have the caramel gene, so Blueclaw isn't caramelized like Sunnystar. HOWEVER, because Moonstar has the gene that causes the Bengal pattern and passed that down to his kits, Blueclaw's solid coat does have muted markings regardless. (Bengals are weird and this won't be the first time it messes with this family tree)
Sunnystar's and Moonstar's other daughter Leopardheart isn't dilute and has inherited Sunnystar's whitespotting, though it is a lesser amount. Since Leopardheart is a tabby, she displays the Bengal pattern Moonstar passed on down. Both Blueclaw and Leopardheart are genetically black like both Sunnystar and Moonstar are.
Back to Embercloud.
They have a son, Sleekstride, who is a chocolate mink tabby with a small amount of whitespotting. In order for Sleekstride to be any type of colorpoint, Embercloud has to have a recessive colorpoint gene, along with Sleekstride's father. For future reference, we will assume that Sleekstride's father was either a cinnamon or carried cinnamon.
Sleekstride then has Palestar, a fawn ticked lynx colorpoint with no white. This is why we must assume that Sleekstride's father is either cinnamon or carried it, along with Sleekstride's mate. The cinnamon cannot be from Embercloud, because as we discussed earlier, Embercloud's father would have been a red cat, hiding a black coat, and would have had to carry chocolate in order for her to have chocolate like her mother Ticketstar. We can also assume Sleekstride's mate either was a colorpoint or also carried it.
Palestar's mate is Fallowspark, a black tabby with little white spotting. However, Fallowspark carries chocolate! How do we know this?
Because none of their children are cinnamon/fawn and one of them, Fernrunner, is a chocolate-ticked tabby.
We also know both Palestar and Fallowspark carry solid because of Shadowrapid is a black solid tom with small white spotting and Fallowspark carries dilute, colorpoint and both carry the caramel trait because Creekstar is a caramelized blue lynx colorpoint and their daughter Mothstar is a seal lynx colorpoint.
We good? Good.
Creekstar has a total of six mates, but only had kits with three, so let's just look at those.
He and his first mate Heavyheart, a black twilight charcoal tabby have Doespot, a lilac charcoal tabby. This means, since Creekstar would be carrying cinnamon from Palestar, Heavyheart is carrying chocolate and dilute.
Creekstar's next mate Amberstream is a fawn tortie. They have OWlcry, a solid blue mink, which means Amberstream carries a sort of colorpoint. Since both Creekstar and Amberstream are diluted, this means Owlcry has to be diluted as well. There are no other options.
Creekstar's last mate TImbercall is a black tabby, and they have Lakepaw, who is a blue tabby.
Heavyheart and Shadowrapid hook up after Creekstar dumped her and they have Fernpelt, a black midnight charcoal tabby with a small amount of white.
Fernpelt then fathers Lionstar, who is a solid fawn with the same amount of white spotting. Now, we know that since Shadowrapid is a solid, Fernpelt would be a carrier. We also know that it's a 50-50 chance that Fernpelt would have also been a carrier for both the cinnamon trait and dilute trait, has both would have been inherited from Shadowrapid being a carrier after inheriting those traits from his own mother Palestar.
In case anyone needs a sum up of that:
Palestar( dilute cinnamon) --> Shadowrapid (carriers cinnamon and dilute) --> Fernpelt (could carrier cinnamon and dilute) --> Lionstar (dilute cinnamon)
Good? Good.
Lionstar fathers Marshrunner, who does not have white spotting and is a solid chocolate tom. Since cinnamon is the most recessive of the non-red colors, this makes sense and points to Lioncry's mate being either a carrier of chocolate or chocolate herself.
Marshrunner then fathers Finchstar, who is a solid chocolate tortoiseshell, having no white. Since Finchstar is a tortoiseshell, her mother is either a tortie herself or a red she-cat, in which said the mother could only provide red 'Xs'.
We know that Finchstar's mate would have to be a red tom since she then has a daughter Fireflight, who is a red colorpoint. Now, regardless if a cat is solid or tabby, red will always display stripes. Genetically, however, Fireflight is a solid.
We do know her mate has to be a tabby with whitespotting because then her son Gorsestar is a red tabby colorpoint with whitespotting. However the color of Gorsestar's father does not matter in this case, as since Fireflight is red, then so too must be Gorsestar.
Gorsestar first is mates with Ravencry, a solid black tuxedo. Since Ravencry is genetically black, their son Tigercall then is also such, but he's a tabby like Gorsestar. He gets whitespotting from either Gorsestar or Ravencry, but not both since he's a tuxedo as well.
Tigercall then mates with non-clan cat Jane, a solid chocolate bicolor. However Tigercall still passes on the black gene onto their daughter Shadowfoot, and this time both parents give a white spotting gene to their child, as Shadowfoot has a massive amount of white on her.
Shadowfoot has a kit with Snowmask, a blue tabby bicolor. They have Junipercloud, who also turns out to be a blue bicolor. This means the dilute trait Shadowfoot is a carrier for is either came from Jane or managed to be passed on secretly through Gorsestar's family since Lionstar. We will see it could be either later.
Now, Snowmask had a previous mate, Riverbelly, who was a seal lynx colorpoint.
Both of their sons Darkpelt and Loonwing are black tabbies, but Loonwing inherits Snowmask's white spotting and neither of them is colorpoints. Loonwing is mates with Hornetsting, a cream tabby she-cat with whitespotting, making any son they have red or cream and all daughter calicos.
Now let's go back to Gorsestar.
Gorsestar later mates with Spottedstream, a gray tortie. We now know that Gorsestar does indeed carry a dilute gene because their Stormfrost is a dilute/blue tortie colorpoint. We already know Gorsestar carries solid from his mother and paired with solid tortie Spottestream, this lets Stormfrost be the solid she is as well.
Stormfrost hooks up with two toms, Riverthorn (a seal point) and Lioncry (a chocolate wideband tabby). Wideband makes a cat's coat, aside from stripes, look golden.
Stormfrost and Riverthorn can only produce more colorpoints. Riverthorn also carried dilute as evidenced by Falconstar being a blue colorpoint. Their daughter Mudmask is a seal colorpoint just like her father.
Stormfrost's son in the same litter. Redwing, could be either Riverthorn's or Lioncry's son. Redwing is a colorpoint, as since he's red, he'd still show having stripes regardless if he was a tabby or a solid. Lioncry's wideband gene is a dominant trait, but it'd also be reasonable that Lioncry could have a recessive gene where a kit of his wouldn't get that trait.
Mudmask is mates with Bluetalon, a blue tabby. Their kits will more than likely be black or blue, it is a 50-50 chance since Mudmask would carry dilute from her mother Stormfrost.
Falconstar is mates with Flyflight, a black smoke. If the two of them could have kits, it'd be a 50-50 chance of their kits being smokes or regular solids. However, both Falconstar and Flyflight are cis toms, so not possible.
So now, there is only one mystery in this whole family tree. Who is Redwing's dad? If you want to make a guess, go on ahead and give a reason.
And if anyone wants me to put down another family tree from my characters on here or the canon warrior cats (I might regret that) the ask box is always open. Also, for those of you who made it this far, thank you. I appreciate you reading through this whole lengthy post.

Willow | She/Her
Willow is a cat who likes her luxuries! She doesn't like getting dirty, she's very elegant, and very soft. However, she always shares! As much as she loves the fine things for herself, she isn't precious about it and can be generous to a fault.

-- -- --
“Froststar still hasn’t returned?” asked Dawnstar, the leader of RiverClan. The heavily-scarred flame-point she-cat was sitting beside her deputy Troutfin.
“That’s correct,” sighed Ratspirit, the current deputy and acting leader of ShadowClan.
“He said that StarClan would be guiding his adventures,” explained Grizzlystep, one of ShadowClan’s medicine cats and Froststar’s cousin. He wasn’t there when this alleged message was given to Froststar, and having known the tom for his whole life, he found it a little bit difficult to believe that this was the entire story. Nevertheless, Grizzlystep would defend the leader of his Clan. “He’ll be back when he receives his message.”
“And of course, Minkslip is trying to police my every move,” Ratspirit continued. Despite being the deputy, she wasn’t very good at keeping the peace, and was prone to bitching about her Clanmates whenever the opportunity arose. Of course, that’s what a mediator is for.
“Minkslip thinks she’s helping,” Tadpolefoot, ShadowClan’s mediator, explained again to Ratspirit. His tone was patient, even though he had already had this conversation with her privately more than once.
“Just because she’s his mate doesn’t mean she knows everything…” the scrawny black she-cat grumbled, but then fell silent. It wasn’t worth a fight; besides, she couldn’t show weakness in front of all the Clans!
The nearly-full moon hung over the Gathering Island, where a small group of cats sat in the approximation of a circle. They slightly clumped together into their respective Clans; Dawnstar of RiverClan was flanked by her deputy, medicine cat, and mediator, and the other leaders had their high ranking cats sitting near them in a similar fashion.
It wasn’t the entirety of the five Clans that had gathered tonight, just their high ranks - with the notable exception of Froststar. Instead, Ratspirit took the position of leader, with Ivybee, one of the medicine cats, by her side the way a deputy would be.
“I’m sure you can save the mediating for later, Tadpolefoot,” mewed a large and lanky brown tabby tom. Moosestar, the leader of ThunderClan, didn’t want ShadowClan starting another fight tonight.
Moosestar did not want to be here. Neither did Houndflare, his deputy. ThunderClan was still recovering from Leafbare.
It had been one of the longest and hardest Leafbares that any cat could remember. It began snowing before Leaf-Fall was fully over, and continued snowing for two moons nonstop. The snow eventually mounted to a blizzard which claimed several lives across all the Clans, but had hit WindClan especially severely due to their lack of shelter. And of course, after the blizzard came a greencough epidemic. Many cats lost their lives, and all five Clans were still hurting severely.
In fact, that was why Puddlestar of SkyClan had called the meeting. She was a new leader; SkyClan had lost both their former leader and deputy to greencough. Despite her inexperience, the Clans liked her - elders often remarked that Puddlestar had a good head on her shoulders, and cared about what was best for all the Clans.
She decided it would be best to be blunt with her proposal.
“SkyClan is going to be recruiting daylight warriors again,” the blue-gray she-cat mewed simply. Almost immediately, the group interrupted in chatter; she could hear curses and expressions of disbelief. She stood, and the group fell silent, wondering what she would say next. “SkyClan is hurting, badly; all of the Clans are. Daylight warriors are an important part of our heritage, and I believe that by returning to our roots, SkyClan will become stronger than before and prosper once again.”
“Do you really believe that?” Moosestar asked sarcastically.
“What’s a daylight warrior?” asked Goldenstar of WindClan at the same time.
“A daylight warrior is a kittypet or loner who trains with SkyClan during the day, then returns to their home at night,” Puddlestar explained simply.
“A kittypet?!?” exclaimed Ratspirit. “That’s ridiculous!”
“We haven’t had a need for daylight warriors since leaving the gorge long ago.” The SkyClan leader sat back down, having had the expected response.
“I think it’s an interesting idea,” Goldenstar remarked. “Puddlestar, will you tell me more?”
“Of course!” the small blue-gray cat replied happily. “Unless anyone has anything else constructive to say, this meeting is adjourned.” With that, Puddlestar stood again and flicked her tail, signaling for her high ranks to walk with her. Goldenstar and the WindClan representatives followed closely behind. Puddlestar and Goldenstar fell into step together, heads leaned towards each other as the two conversed about the merits and downfalls of accepting daylight warriors.
Moosestar glared at Ratspirit and the ShadowClan high ranks as he stood. Houndflare did the same, mirroring her leader’s hostile attitude.
“How are the herbs running, Ivybee?” asked the ThunderClan deputy, eyes glaring in anger. “Found any catmint recently?”
During the greencough pandemic, ThunderClan had asked their neighbors for any spare catmint to treat their ailing leader. SkyClan had barely enough to treat their own cats, and said they had received some from ShadowClan. By the time ThunderClan had begged ShadowClan for help, there just wasn’t enough to go around anymore, and eventually Moosestar had lost a life from greencough.
ThunderClan had refused to believe that, instead claiming ShadowClan was refusing to offer them help. ShadowClan refuted the accusation, sticking by their claims that there just was not enough. Moosestar and Froststar had been at each others’ throats since then, with their deputies backing them up, all of them looking for excuses to fight.
ThunderClan and ShadowClan were on the brink of battle. It would only take one wrong move to ignite an all-out war.
As the moon soared above them, a massive white and gray tom made his way into ShadowClan territory, his pawpads aching. He had had a long journey, and he was ready to come home.

hi!! I have a mostly white (i’d say 60-70%?) caliby (calico-tabby) molly oc and she had 2 kittos, a chocolate brown molly and a golden tabby tom, may i ask what they’re father could be to make this genetically possible? thank you in advance, you’re blog is really helpful ^^ <3
Hi!
So, if either parent is mostly white, technically speaking all the kittens should have some white since they both get one Ws allele. This can be any amount of white under about 50%.
Otherwise, I am assuming by golden you mean a shade of ginger since you didn't specify another color. Regardless, the sire must be black-based (not red) to produce a chocolate molly, and must either be completely white or under half white to produce kittens with under half white. Otherwise, there are no restrictions! Any color except the red based ones and of course the tortoiseshells will work, and there are no pattern requirements other than the white spotting being under half if it is present.

Let’s try again? Third time’s the charm, right? Right??
When was the last time I posted about this AU? Anyway, trust me, it’s not abandoned (put too much thought into it for it to be), and I will at least try to get all the character designs out.
So yeah, “recap”: Yukiko’s Alice in this AU, but she’s addressed as herself, as all non-Wonderland characters will be.
Also, ‘cause Alice had Dinah, I decided, you know what, why not give Yukiko a cat, too? So I took the design off of that cat post I drew way back when and have dubbed this kitty Tinkerbell. She’s not really relevant to the plot—just for my peace of mind, haha.
Anyway, wish me luck on continuing this AU—I…will definitely need it, haha. I will say, though, I won’t just be posting about this AU for the next…however long it takes me, eheh…It’ll just be my focus.

So character genetics ask. Male is a Tom who's a Cream Mink. He's lilac carrying fawn 'underneath' the Dilute Ginger. The female is called Naucrate – she's a black mackerel tabby. Based on some kittens that were generated for her, (I've been playing with genetic things), I know that she has to be carrying something in the colourpoint series (since she had a chocolate caliby mink kitten) but I don't know what. The white-spotting gene broke my brain though. 1/2
Kittens from first litter Chocolate Caliby Mink. Around the 50 & 50 mark for coloured and white. Black Tabby with White - Mask and Mantle Pattern. Kittens from second litter: Black-tortie-and-white. Less than 40% white. Carrying Sepia. Littermates: I need help here. 2/3
Question 1 - Kitten 2 has to be a boy, right?Question 2 - Options for how much white Naucrate and this Tom should have to get these kittens to work?Question 3 - I need help re: Crowley's littermates. I need to get them all to look like one another but not like the rest of the family. Options for Naucrate's other boyfriend to accomplish this please?3/3
sorry this took me so long? anyway.
let's start by just turning some of these into genotypes/partial genotypes.
sire: bb1/dd/O/cscb
naucrate (queen): B-/D-/A-/tt/spsp/tm-/C-
(where she's carrying cs or cb)
whitespotting is fairly understandable. i smash it down to a much simpler version than it really is because uhhh there's a lot going on. and honestly like. when i'm doing my own genetics stuff i will introduce complications in. anyway moving on.
k1: b-/Dd/A-/Oo/Wsws/cscb
admittedly she could be WsWs too, but we'll assume Wsws because it gives us more options later on. anyway, we also confirm that naucrate is carrying either b or b1. moving on.
k2: B-/Dd/A-/o/Wsws
pretty straight forward. yes, he needs to be a tom, because every she-cat will inherit Oo, making them all torties.
k3: B-/Dd/Oo/Wsws/Ccs
anyway so they all have one Ws and one ws which means that between the parents, you need one of each. you could do Almost anything with this, from one parent WsWs and one Wsws, to the opposite (wsws and Wsws), and of course Wsws and Wsws. and WsWs and wsws. as long as both parents aren't WsWs or wsws, you're good. if you want k1 to be WsWs, then you can't have wsws and Wsws.
personally, i would (if i were you) probably go with WsWs and wsws just because that's statistically likely, but also like: you do you.
i'm not Quite sure what you're looking for with the second part...
it's kind of hard to answer because like you could really go anywhere. like if you're going to give the kits another father you just gotta cherry pick how they inherit. if you mean look like k3 (who i assume has the first sire as a father?), then your options are a Little more limited, but not by much.
like if you wanted...idk, depends on what things you want to be similar, too? me personally, if i want kits to look like their parents, i'm always partial to tabby markings. there's something...idk, there's something symbolic in having the same markings with a new colour.
so like with that in mind if you make sire2 (s2?) tt/spsp/tbtb, now whatever naucrate has will come through. so you're going to get mostly mackerel tabbies.
anyway, ig they should probably be dilute since only the first sire (s1) is dilute, which yes, creates a few problems if you don't want them to look like him, but just make them all black/tortie and you should be fine.
you know, get some blues in. or lilacs. i like lilac cats such a pretty color.
then s2 should be something like: b-/dd/AA/tt/spsp/tbtb
ig. you have really a lot of options?
i'd probably...hm i'd probably go for something like
b-/dd/AA/tt/spsp/tmtb for them all basically, because now uh now they're all going to have very similar pelts. and they're going to be different, but look similar.
if you want some variation, not hard. if naucrate carries tb, then you can make some of them tbtb, one of them could be B-/dd, you could make some of them torties, etc.
also, maybe make them all solid/no white? there's a lot of white going on.
yeah. if you like. have points of clarification/further questions feel free to ask! i hope this helps.

Stormy Skies Clans
Note: these Clans all four live in Japan. Allegiances are taken from a generator which can be found here.
Thank you for your submission!
I see you used a generator. Im curious, was there a reason you decided to use more traditional western based prefixes rather than looking into local options for prefixes? If you didnt want to do the work for the research, completely understandable, but there could be a hidden wealth of prefixes and names you could use for such a unique setting.

RANK DESCRIPTION
Leafgazer - someone who is a leafgazer pays close attention to the leaves on the trees in order to tell when seasons are changing. When the leaves begin to grow back, the Clan lays back on the over preparedness they have for leaf-bare. When the leaves are greener then ever, the Clan begins hunting just a little extra. When the leaves turn brown and orange and begin to fall, the Clan starts a hunting initiative due to the coming leaf-bare. And when the leaves on the trees are almost none, the Clan puts their hunting game into overdrive.
The only concern I have for this is that the leaves and trees dont always accurately signify when things are changing. A late frost could destroy a whole tree’s buds, or the leaves could turn colors early or late. It might be worth looking into how that works, if you want to. As an idea its quite interesting though!
Skywatcher - TyphoonClan’s name didn’t come from nowhere - they have a bad track record of losing cats to storms and such that often come to their territory due to it being close to the sea. Skywatchers watch the sky, keeping track of any darkening clouds and such. They are taught in the “writing” of Clawscript, a language using various claw scratches to correspond to different letters, words or phrases, allowing them to keep track of the weather. As TyphoonClan’s kits are taught from a young age how to read Clawscript, it allows warriors to plan their huntings and missions to other Clans, and allows leaders and deputies to plan when to retreat to their second camp.
Good old Skywatchers, I’ve always been a fan of them since my Waveclan had them. Although Clawscript is a unique interpretation! Its always interesting to see how people might implement the idea of writings in their clans.
Pathfinder - due to the rocky terrain of the mountains, all patrols have a pathfinder leading. Pathfinders are cats with extra good eyesight and strength, allowing them to find good paths and push rocks out of the way when needed. Their pelts are almost always at least mostly black, red or brown, in order to blend in with the rocks if that is needed. Most MountainClan cats have such colored pelts as is, however.
This is cool! Its always good to have cats who specialize in certain aspects and making sure to find stable and safe terrain to cross is good.
(Random fun fact about MountainClan: they have common run-ins with leopard cats, which they call kitty-leopards, and I’m thinking of giving them one eventually)
Fellgatherer - living in a bamboo forest can be tough sometimes, as many bigger animals live there and can rip cats apart easily. Due to this, some cats have been trained in the art of felling bamboo trees and gathering the fallen pieces due to their supplies of protein. Fellgatherers often also make meals with combinations of the gathered fell, herbs and prey animals.
This is really interesting! Im curious though, since this opens up a lot of possibilities. Do Feligatherers cook their food or simply put it together? How do the cats consume all that fiber (since most cats generally arent equipped to eat fibrous food)?
I’ll probably fill the form you made out at somepoint, it’s just that I’d likely end up having to fill it out frice. I’m currently writing a fanfic with these Clans (Laurelpaw, Plumpaw, Cootpaw and Laburnumface are the main characters) and it’s on Ao3, link if you’re curious!
Sorry for a really long post!
Looks good! Good luck with your writing!
