Look, it’s not easy to ask others for help. Shame, pride, and all manner of obstacles get in the way. Deku and Vegeta know this intimately as major arcs for them and even their inmost character reveal a desire to go it on their own and not involve others. But what does scripture have to tell us about finding help in our struggles? Mike digs into this topic (while also explaining his real origin story, discussing his favorite series of the season, and more) on episode five of the Power of God and Anime podcast!
Anime Trivia!
In Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, what is the dish that Tohru is constantly trying to get Kobayashi to eat?

Impacting Lives for Christ: Serving for His Glory and the Edification of Others
Christian service and ministry should glorify God and edify others. Glorifying God means our words and actions reflect positively on Him (1 Cor 10:31). Edifying others means we help and encourage them in their growth and development as Christian disciples (1 Th 5:11). Because we cannot live what we do not know, it’s imperative that we study the Bible for ourselves (2 Tim 2:15), and also benefit…

I’m in love with the podcast Data Over Dogma where a biblical scholar and a comedian (both named Dan) educate the listeners on the Bible and Christianity (and occasionally related religions) in a way I love.
They explain what the original texts actually said and how they were translated in different bibles and how different versions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam interpret the stories and commands and we get explanations for little known facts like one story seems to confirm the existence of another god who beat the god of the Bible because Bible God was on their land and the other god got a power-up from a blood sacrifice. And which Ten Commandments are people talking about and what did they mean when they were written down? And does God being a jealous god insinuate that there are other gods who aren’t jealous? Can God lie and change his mind in the Bible? Was Jonah being a little piss baby?
I highly recommend the podcast if you’re interested in religion from a scholarly standpoint. Scholar Dan is a practicing Christian so he takes it seriously while also being able to joke around and take the text with a grain of salt and they have guests on who talk about the Bible from different viewpoints like disability, lgbtq, non-white, Jewish, feminist and so on.

Schmidt emphasizes. 'Horner already had the feeling at the beginning of the season, when he had headwind, that he could do anything. According to him, Red Bull would become world champion anyway. With Newey or without Newey, with Verstappen or without Verstappen.'
Horner then gave the 'there's no i in team' speech and that Red Bull would not force anyone to stay. Schmidt sees an interesting change in that area in particular. 'When the competition suddenly came closer, when they noticed that McLaren was getting stronger, that's when things changed. I remember speaking to Horner in Canada and he was worried that it was going to be tight with the constructors' championship. I think that's when he realised that it was getting serious.'
In Canada, Sergio Perez crashed for the second time in a row, after things had already gone wrong in Monaco. 'He knows that he will only have the support of the Thais as long as he is successful and wins with Red Bull. Then he suddenly realised: I need Verstappen', Schmidt thinks. 'He is very important to the team, because if the car is not top, Verstappen is the driver who takes victories and podiums, and not Perez or another driver who could replace him.'

Do you sometimes feel discouraged, as if you’re not good enough to accomplish the big things you’d like to? Mike’s been there. So have some of the heroes of the Bible, including Moses and Gideon. And…maybe Sailor Moon’s Usagi Tsukino, too? Well, she at least serves as an example of someone who does incredible things despite her shortcomings—and God is able to do the same with us as well. Join Mike today as he chats about this topic, along with thoughts on Yakuza 4, on episode seven of The Power of God and Anime Podcast!
Anime Trivia!
In Demon Slayer, the Hashira Tengen has three wives. What are their names?

In the latest ep of Blessed Are the Binary Breakers, I sit down with public historian Emma Cieslik (she/her) to hear all about her Queer and Catholic Oral History Project, supported by the Pacific School of Religion.
For Emma, the word catholic is truly "universal" — she's interviewed Roman Catholics and folk Catholics, ex-Catholics and "it's complicated" Catholics, queer religious and lay folk. In documenting these diverse perspectives, Emma is preserving the beautiful breadth of queer Catholic stories and gifts so that no one can claim they don't exist.
Listen wherever you get podcasts, or click here for direct links + the episode transcript.
Image descriptions are under the readmore + in the alt text.
ID: Images are three infographics with cream colored backgrounds. First says "Documenting Queer Catholic Experiences with Emma Cieslik; Ep 77 of Blessed Are the Binary Breakers, a multifaith podcast of trans stories." A photo of Emma shows a smiling white person with long light brown hair, glasses, and a colorful pastel shirt.
Image two has a quote from Emma reading,
“There is an assumption, walking into the conversations that I have...that what I'm going to encounter is unspeakable trauma and harm. And don't get me wrong, those things are incredibly true and incredibly valid. The Catholic Church has hurt a lot of LGBTQ+ people; it continues to hurt them to this day. But [I also found that] there are many people who are finding spiritual joy and finding spiritual wellness and meaning within Catholicism —within the entire umbrella, the diverse menagerie, smorgasbord if you will, of Catholicism and Catholic practices. So for me, that was my biggest takeaway... coming to understand how being queer and being Catholic could coexist — and not just could coexist, but could also be mutually beneficial to one another.”
Image 3 has a final quote from Emma reading, “This past June I spoke at the Outreach Conference; it's held by Father James Martin. ...He reached out [to invite me to join] a panel on the lesbian experience. ...[Our] big takeaway from the panel was, like, ‘I think this is great, but this is the first time at the conference we're talking about queer Catholic women and we're uplifting those narratives that... often are not uplifted or understood, or seen as important to understand, within in the Church.’ ” A photo shows Emma smiling and posing with Father James Martin in a church. / end ID

The Kingdom Vision podcast is pretty good.
It is edifying and I kinda resist listening to it cause I still have a lot of weakness I am working on right now. My flesh resists it.
Reminds me of the faith and boldness I used to have, then reminds me of God's truths that keep me from stumbling in regret.
