#chromebooks suck

I’m making progress with the “Hexllo” comic, I should probably try not to use this scribbly style but I thought it would okay…

So here’s a page of it, is it at lest passable?

I’m at the self doubt stage and rethinking everything… Just got to keep at it!

Hopefully I’ll make the self-imposed deadline of 28/02/2024 but in future one shots I’ve got to restrain myself when it comes to needless details.

UPDATE: So I did manage to get this one shot drawn for the deadline, however it turns out the stupid Chromebook* wouldn’t let my scanner work. So frustratingly I’m now having to find a scanner that will work with it!

I’m repeatedly beating my head against the wall, it makes my headache I’m getting from the Chromebook hurt less.

*= I currently don’t have a computer that can do anything creative, Chromebooks’ are useless for anything other than web surfing)

So I’m working towards my comptia a+ cert as i hate my job, but I’m by no means an expert. Well my mom called to ask if i could look a dads laptop as it wouldn’t connect to the WiFi. Sure it’ll be good practice.

I forgot my dad has a fucking Chromebook.

Ugh i try and try to get it to connect to the WiFi: ‘bad password’. Bad password. Bad password. I know the password is correct. I know the router’s working. I go to google which is entirely unhelpful. The only answer was to replace some hardware which would be more than the damn thing was worth.

Ok let’s see if there’s a software update. “Sorry this device will no longer be getting software updates. Please upgrade to a new system.” …

Call in my brother. We agree there’s nothing to be done. Dads pissed we can’t fix and tries to order another Chromebook. We stop that real quick and find him a decently priced hp laptop.

I’ve learned that i much prefer working on pcs.

Also, I saw a lot of people freaking out in the notes like "Oh shit, is Google gonna get completely taken down????" No. It won't. Google's a trillion dollar company, this won't completely destroy it. What it'll hopefully do is keep them from having Google be the default engine EVERYWHERE. If Google loses, that is a good thing. This WILL shake up the internet, but it won't be the end.

Last year's Witchtober drawing.

Rather than draw just a separate witch each day, I chose to draw a big poster of all the witches gathered together. At the time I was listening to The Living Tombstone's remix of witches, witches, witches at link

So that inspired the race setting. Also I really like that witches who are racing aren't using standard "brooms"

Hopefully I've got a good mix of witch types here.

This is the list that I used, but as you may notice there's more than 31 witches in the drawing... well I added a few, hopefully that's okay?

Why isn't it coloured in? A good question really, I didn't want to ruin it with my subpar colouring.

Why now and not last October? because I didn't have a scanner that worked with my Chromebook last year and didn't have an art program that would allow me to piece it together that works on my Chromebook (I had to scan in two halves as it's only an A4 scanner I've managed to get)

I used to pirate anime on kissanime in middle school on my school issued chromebook and Im genuinely surprised I never got in trouble for that.

Still drawing my knockoff Crash Bandicoot characters. I don’t know when this recent hyper fixation will end for me.

I need to work on the puffin/Scottish wildcat griffins’ design as it’s a bit muddled right now. Maybe add some highlights around the edge of their hair?

Also I like the idea of the Crash knockoff being in traditional clothing and the Coco knockoff wearing modern clothing but I need to do more research into that as she looks rather plain right now.

As for the Nina knockoff I’m surprisingly pleased with her design for now.

Now if only I could think of names for them.

Hopefully on the next drawing I’ll do better than just making the background shades of blue.

Scanner works. Thank goodness, I still can't get it to the best quality but it's better than nothing.
