That sure is an admission from someone wearing one of those same masks.

Overhaul - in contrast to both Nighteye and Shigaraki - is the worst boss. Overhaul recruited these people to do his dirty work, but he then found them unclean because they did what he asked of them. Nighteye took responsibility for the shortcomings of his subordinates and defended them in front of other heroes as a good boss should. Shigaraki encouraged the dreams of his comrades and worked with the League as a member of a team without suppressing their individuality.

Overhaul demanded his underlings cover their faces as a form of dehumanization - a visible demonstration of their value as nothing more than pawns. It is another parallel to All for One. All for One also had a habit of covering the faces of people he suppressed with his hand - Yoichi, Shigaraki, and almost every time he was shown giving/taking a quirk. Though in some ways, Overhaul was more thorough in this dehumanization and obsession with staying out of harms way than All for One. As All for One had at least one follower he never suppressed in this way - Garaki. And All for One under some circumstances was more willing to put his own health and safety at risk to pursue his goals (though to some extent that may have been because he believed he would soon have a new body anyway).

I still feel a little sleepy- but not as much as before. So that’s a start.

Kurono should’ve scolded you more…

I hate this line from Pops, it shifts the blame for Chisaki's own actions onto Kurono—yes, Kurono should have said or done something to stop Chisaki—but he literally watched Chisaki put you, Pops, in a coma.

Kurono saw firsthand what Chisaki was capable of... how he would overhaul his own men for basic mistakes... The other Shie Hassaikai members were terrified of Kai, they'd rather fight the heroes than deal with Overhaul directly... they didn't think Kai could be defeated. There's a chance Kurono felt just as terrified.

Kurono even mentions that Chisaki is determined in his plan and would use anyone or anything to get his way. If Kurono became an obstacle, I think Chisaki would have easily overhauled him as well. Kurono does admit to Kai, early on, he doesn't think his plan is realistic either. It sounds like a passive attempt to persuade Kai to stop at best, without upsetting him.

Kurono willingly aided in Overhaul's plan, but again, what action could Kurono have taken against it? He witnessed Kai harming his own father-figure for trying to stop him and knew Overhaul's capabilities firsthand. In the end, Kurono could have realized he was in too deep and doubled down on Kai's plan. —and, Pops also had several opportunities to stop Chisaki early on, he knew Chisaki was obsessed over this plan involving Eri... shouldn't that be concerning in itself? Why didn't Pops remove Eri from Chisaki? Place her in someone else's care or keep an eye on her? Redirect Kai with another idea or try to get Kai to visit a psychologist?

Out of everyone that could have stopped Chisaki from becoming Overhaul, it would have been you, Pops. Not Kurono. Kai wanted to bring honor back to the Hassaikai to repay you.

(Ik I'm probably not the first person to point this out but whatever)

One of the most important people to Chisaki is the Boss who he clearly sees as a father figure though because studio bones fucking sucks they cut a lot of there interactions out of the anima

The Boss is one of the only people we see him show care or empathy towards

although as soon as the Boss goes against him with what he was planning on doing to Eri, Overhaul put him in a coma

But it's clear this comes from Kai wanting to make him proud it is still an incredibly fucked up way to do it

But I don't believe it's entirely Kai's fault I believe it's part of his quirk instincts (ie like how Himiko Toga's need to drink blood and La Brava loving people more intensely) make Chisaki more controlling

I mean, it's not outright stated, but come on, he can manipulate matter with his bear hands it's not a stretch to say part of the reason he's such a control freak is because of that

Which brings me to his relationship with Chronostasis, the only other person he cares about

We know Hari is one of his childhood friends though we don't know much else but he is Kai's right hand man and one of the only people we see Overhaul consistently trusts with Eri and his plan for the Shie Hassaikai

And even during the raid, we see Kai going out of his way to heal Hari while he eminently fused with Nemoto (probably killing him if Eri didn't rewind them) as soon as he wasn’t able to fight anymore

The big difference being that Chronostasis never disagreed with Kai to the extent Hari was more loyal to Chisaki than the actual Shie Hassaikai

While the Boss definitely loved his adopted son he wasn’t okay with his plan (understandable) and was worried about the path Kai was going down but in the end he was too late and didn't give him the help he needed

In conclusion, Chisaki is definitely capable of loving and caring for someone, though he'd definitely be controlling about it and do what he'd think is best in the long run

It pleases me a bunch to see that my last post was received really well, So I'm gonna drop the wack ass family tree I made today and explain some things

Okay, so this is the tree, obviously, you can click it and zoom in to read everything, but i'll explain most of it below.

I'll explain the connections first and then go into more detail.

Edgeshot and Kurono

Now, there's actually a really good thread that someone already made under the #edgeshot tag, but I don't have the link to it copied right now, so you'll probably have to search for it yourself, but basically

They have very similar quirks and appearances, from the hair to their resting faces, its eerily similar. Their quirks both required some sort of distortion of their body to work properly.

I feel like they are brothers, and I feel like its possible that Kurono ran away from their family early on because he couldn't handle the stress of the lineage.

Next up,

This guy (He's unnamed as far as I know)

So, as far as I'm aware, we have no solid name for this guy nor do we know what kind of quirk he has, or if he even has one to begin with based on the way he talks about quirks changing people's perception of things, so it could be he doesn't have one at all.

I feel like he's the brother of Kurono and Shinya's mother, which makes him their uncle

On that subject, Seiji, its heavily implied that he's this man's son, so if that's the case, that makes him Shinya and Kurono's cousin.

Still on this note, I'll continue further.

Seiji's potential father could've possibly been married to a woman who had a sister that married another woman after a fling with a guy and results in the creation of Setsuna

It feels right since Setsuna and Seiji have extremely similar quirks that may be a result of their mother's genetics.

Now,

I'll finally come back to Edgeshot and Jeanist's part of the tree.

So, Edgeshot and Jeanist, right ?

We know they've known each other and been at least friends since their UA days, but possibly more of course and in this sense, they were more.

Tatami is 17 at the end of the final war, which makes her the perfect age to have been born when Edgeshot was about 18, and Jeanist 19, which would make her a teen baby.

In this idea, obviously I perceive Edgeshot as a trans man, which makes her 100% their biological daughter. Obviously, they wouldn't want it known they had a daughter publicly, but they didn't desire to give her up, which leads to her completely different name from both of them.

The reason I think she's their daughter and not possibly another sibling to Edgeshot is because her quirk isn't exactly close enough to Edgeshot and Chronostsis's to be that closely related, but its possible that the combination of Edgeshot and Jeanist's genes gave her an extra boost and made her quirk the way it was.

Jeanist's quirk is fibermaster, so he controls the fibers in clothing and can make it constrict and loosen at will.

Edgeshot's quirk is Foldabody, which makes him able to stretch his body out to be spindly and thin like a thread.

And,

Tatami's quirk is Telescopic, giving her the ability to pull her limbs into her torso like a turtle.

The combination of Edgeshot and Jeanist's quirks could reasonably lead to the mutation that is her quirk. It makes sense to me but if i need to elaborate more, don't be afraid to ask !

Now, obviously, you probably see Mt. Lady up there in the righthand corner, and I'll explain.

So,

I feel like she's probably got a distant relationship to Jeanist, obviously somehow connected through his mother's cousin or something. They both come off as very haughty, and from their interactions, she definitely holds respect for him, more so I feel in a familial way, rather than a coworker or elder way.

Idk I'm running out of things to say, I'm gonna end this rant here, ask any questions if you can think of any ❗

I just signed in and I’m already having a bad feeling about this.. Don’t bother me too much, unless you’re someone I know.

Probably a crack theory, but I think Kurono lived in the same orphanage as Chisaki.

According to the My Hero Academia Easy Illustration Guide, Kurono is said to be Chisaki’s confidant since childhood. They could have met at the orphanage and escaped together, both ending up in the Hassaikai.

Kurono is shown to be close to Chisaki. He assists with Chisaki’s experiments on Eri and witnessed Chisaki putting Pops into a coma. We don’t see how he reacts, but he doesn’t appear to fearful of Chisaki or against experimenting on Eri. Maybe he was exposed to Garaki’s experiments as a child?

Furthermore, Kurono failed Chisaki in two separate occasions… and lived. He missed his shot against Shigaraki, causing Chisaki to use another member as a shield against Shigaraki’s Decay…

…and then, during the fight with Lemillion, Kurono was knocked unconscious and flung at Chisaki. Chisaki used Overhaul to heal the damage to his head. Yet, when Nemoto gets knocked out, Chisaki uses Overhaul to merge with him.

Chisaki is determined to do whatever and use whoever to complete his goal, Kurono admits this. However, he did none of that to Kurono. The worst things Chisaki’s done to him, is called Kurono a “fool” and boss him around.

If Kurono and Chisaki did meet at the orphanage, it would explain Chisaki’s treatment towards Kurono and via verse. Either that, or Chisaki just needed someone to carry Eri for him.

I can't help but compare characters from different media, it's something natural for me, and now with my interests from 2019 coming back, I couldn't ignore how Yahaba looks like Kurono and Chisaki's lovechild. Like, can anyone understand me? The whole thing with the arrows, the aversion to getting dirty (even if it's not that deep), and even the appearance

Lord, I love crossovers. I have so many more to compare, but I think it would get repetitive if I always posted sm when I freak out about characters that don't even know about each other's existence lol byeeee
