Watching Call the Midwife on your periods is a whole new experience... I am crying so much my cat's come to sit on me. And she hasn't done that in months omg.
I want to write about each character, I love all of them :') 🦋
(if anything happens to Sister Monica Joan I will riot; a piece of me will wither away.)

I've been watching the latest season of Call the Midwife at the same time as season three of the Bad Batch because apparently I just love feeling emotional turmoil? Anyway, it occurred to me today that they definitely share characteristics.
(I'm using the original Midwife cast because there's so many new characters lately, and this is just for fun)
Hunter and Sister Julienne
leading
trying to make it work
they've seen some stuff but haven't lost their way
interesting head gear
Wrecker and Chummy
large presence, large heart
perceived as clumsy but a skilled professional
here to bring joy
Crosshair and Trixie
did someone say sass?
on top of the fashion
dramatic history
damn fine skills
Echo and Sister Evangelina
so tired of your bullshit
but will also save your life and everything in it
solid advice
grumpiest hearts of gold
Tech and Sister Bernadette
all the expertise
SPECS
ready to handle that difficult maneuver
not following orders, imperial or religious
Omega and Jenny Lee
new kid in town
tougher than she looks
still hecking adorable
has a secret of her own

I’ve been rewatching Call The Midwife and I honestly forgot how amazing this show is! It’s so heartfelt and can be so heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time! I absolutely adore this show and its characters and so many of my recent evenings have been spent sobbing over this beautiful show!

In what was likely one of the last conversations that I will have with my Dad, yesterday I learned from him that my great grandfather (who had the same middle and last name as me) had a dog named Chummy back in the 1940’s. Good to know and I’ll likely name my next dog Chummy since, after all, it’s a family name.

In the early series of call the midwife are the nuns also a matchmaking agency. I was thinking about it and this is what I realised:
Sister Evangelina got Chummy and Peter together.
Sister Bernadette got Jane and Rev Applebee together.
This last one maybe not but I feel Sister Monica Joan kind of pushed Shelagh and Patrick together when she made her cry and then Sister Julienne spoke to her then TB storyline etc.

@sicktember Prompt 27 - Sleepless Night/s
Set during S1
"Oh hello, Sister," Chummy said brightly, surprised to find Sister Julienne still at the sink. While Chummy was first on call this afternoon, the others were already gathering in the clinical room, readying for afternoon rounds. With Sister Evangelina away at the Mother House, they'd be waiting for Julienne to issue the visiting lists. "Sister?" she said again, when Julienne didn’t acknowledged her. Stepping forward, Chummy realised that the sister’s hands were still submerged in the sink but not moving. In fact, she wasn't moving at all, staring at the tiled wall in front of her, unseeingly.
Suddenly concerned, she reached out and placed her hand on the sister's back. Sister Julienne gasped, starting and splashing water as she jerked back into awareness.
