Overview of the things I've decided are canon for my son of zeus au so far (hopefully I don't forget any):

The gods are dicks. They arent *always* dicks, but I don't want to sugarcoat them from their original myths, they do bad shit and often

Denki is favored by Apollo, Dionysus, and Hermes the most, Persephone also likes him pretty well

Zeus is Zeus, meaning who knows when he'll decide he loves his son or hates his son or just genuinely doesn't care, he's such a little hypocrite bitch ain't he

Quirks are the exact same as they are in canon, the presence of the Greek gods didn't affect that at all, the gods have nothing to do with quirks and while they still are probably banging like rabbits they aren't really that active in Japan so no, no one else at UA is a demigod

Zeus slept with Kaminari's mom because he was intrigued by a mortal with a power in his domain (electricity) that didn't come from him

Since Kaminari's powers come from both his quirk and his dad, there's some complexities to them

Kamimari was born with lightning powers but they worked differently before his quirk actually manifested (I'm toying with the idea that his quirk manifested while being smiled by Zeus with lightning? I haven't decided if I like that or not yet)

Kaminari doesn't want other people knowing he's a demigod for classic hero story reasons but also because 1. Greek gods being real is a secret and he ain't about to be the one that spilled it 2. It'd be really complicated and annoying to explain and let's be real, at least one person would come out of that thinking he went crazy

Athena doesn't like him because, well, dunceface, duh. She does appreciate his strategic abilities though

Ares also doesn't like him because he doesn't like killing people, Ares and Athena hate that they dislike the same kid so much that they'd consider changing their tune about him on just that alone

In junior high he went on a big quest, I haven't decided on any details of it, but it involved a lot of fighting way to strong people while way too young as most quests do, this is also how he got into Apollo, Hermes, Dio, and Persephone's (and by extention Hades since he loves Persephone enough to deal with anyone she likes) good graces, the quest was likely given by Zeus and likely involved Hera trying to kill him

He's not really surrounded by people in the ancient greek community, it's not like he has a camp half blood and even if he did he'd skip it to go to UA training anyway, but he is pretty well known in those circles post big quest

I'm toying with the idea that he failed his first quest and thus had to go on a redemption quest

Kaminari doesn't like being serious, but despite what his classmates and teachers think, he CAN do serious, how else would he be such a big shot in the Greek community?

Imma be real, there was probably some kind of war that Kaminari had to lead an army in or something. I'm sorry, child soldier stories just have so many layers to dissect it's not my fault that they're compelling in a way

My point is, serious Kaminari is like war general levels serious, but not even LOA attacks are bad enough to bring out serious kaminari, are you kidding, did you gloss over the part about god war? He's having a little trouble taking literally any threat at UA seriously and he'll have trouble taking almost every threat as a pro hero seriously, it's not his fault junior high set the bar way too high on what situations are serious!

One of Kaminari's demigod powers, as the son of Zeus, is that he can't take fall damage. No matter how high up he falls from, he will never ever get worse than a few scrapes

Pissing him off really badly makes the sky get stormy, I'm talking immediate clear skies to nothing but gray clouds moving in and you can't even SEE the sky anymore, also possibly rain, he doesn't do it often but he can and he'd probably be able to control it if he were to practice his demigod powers along with his quirk but we all know he ain't gonna do that any time soon

He can sword fight, he hopes this never comes up

He has to keep reminding Dionysus about the legal drinking age, Dionysus thinks it's stupid and therefore never listens, they have argued about it multiple times

Apollo and Kaminari play chess together on occasion

Hermes at one point gave Kami a special knife when he decided he liked him enough to give him a gift, it's a magic thief's blade which is just a dagger that cannot be found on his person no matter what you do. Pat him down? You won't feel it. Scan him? It didn't show. Metal detector? It didn't beep at all. But he can pull it out whenever. He won't but he does *have* it just in case. I'm also deciding if making it not be able to leave him would be too much. I don't want it to feel like a riptide ripoff, I'm thinking maybe it sprouts wings and flies to him?

Yes, I've just decided, the Thief's Knife will fly to him if left behind and can squeeze into any crack no matter how small to get to him

I'm shinkami trash so you KNOW shinkami is about to be canon in this au

In either 2A or 3A, Kaminari tells Shinsou his secret about the gods being real and him being Zeus' son, he spends a great amount of time explaining all the details to Shin and answering his questions, it's a lot

What can I say? Shinsou is gus confidant, he was gonna have to tell him at some point 🤷🏻‍♀️💅

He doesnt tell anyone else, but obv they've got to eventually find out somehow, what you think I'd just let it be lame?? Even after they find out, he won't tell them anything he doesn't have to, waits until it comes up to explain things, it's just too complicated he doesn't want to go through all that AGAIN and with twenty people this time

Oh and before you ask, I'm gonna say no on the flying thing. I know it could be a power of a Zeus kid, I know it could be cool, but no. No he cannot fly.

I can't think of anything else right now but I can't wait to wake up in a cold sweat tonight and realise what i forgot

1. Business As Usual 🇰🇷 (4/6)

I hate the misscommunication trope so much and yet I am still watching and rooting for them! Just talk to each other and tell the other what you're thinking and feeling. Please. Don't live in the past. You still like Jinhwan, right? I know your pride is strong and you don't want to give in to your feelings and that you were wrong. But you are hurting yourself and Jinhwan without a good reason. Let yourself be happy!

2. My Golden Blood 🇹🇭 (7/12)

Story got a little bit better. Still like their chemistry. Still dream about some Tonkla/Nakan action... So Thara is getting weaker. Nakan is getting bolder. Tong is getting more recless. Mark is getting horny. I kinda like it here. And Mark already told Tong and the viewers that he wanted to eat him. Just do it. Please.

3. Perfect 10 Liners 🇹🇭 (8/24)

Yes, I started this one. The first storyline, sorry, but this was really not that good. I am not the biggest ForceBook fan, but they did a decent job with the plot they got. This making out on the other hand. Hello? Might be the best making out of them ever. I am not dissapointed with it. But the story of this grumpy senior who is really shitty and bossy around his nong and makes the latter with this to fall in love with him was not that special. But watchable.

4. Something Is Not Right 🇰🇷 (4/8)

That episode hurt me. I felt so sad for Jeehoon. I am a fan of speaking your mind and if you can't hide it or overcome it, confess. But leaving your best friend and secret crush in the dark like this and treating him like shit, I have no understanding for Bawoo. Your best friend deserves better! Jeehoon deserves better. he is a sweetheart. And he likes Bawoo too so he won't give up on him and I guess will now use the last three days of darting to win Bawoo over. Never thought I'd be this invested in that show.

5. Sweet Tooth Good Dentist 🇹🇭 (4/12)

Is it okay to be angry at a series? I am kinda nagry at the choices here. Do I like drama? Sure. Do I like slow burn? Sure. But do I like a character playing with the feelings of another character, even though we as the viewers know he is lying, and treating the other character not nice? No. I don't like it. That is a weak plot choice to create drama. Let the new potential love interest come into picture naturally, without hurting our main puppy. So for now I am rooting for Jimmy...

6. Top Form 🇹🇭 (8/11)

Give these boys a break! I never thought I'd be this hooked with this series. But the stalking incident really does something for the story. And Akin is growing on me. I am happy Boom got another main role after Chains of Heart and this is an approvement, I would say. I can't tell what is happening next because what is the agenda of the guy-I-don't-know-the-role-he-plays is. But we only have three episodes left and I guess there is a lot of shit going to happen. But don't hurt the grandma!

Goblin 🇰🇷

This was such a strange experience. I really enjoyed the Goblin and the Grim Reaper's friendship. I even liked the Gods and their meddeling. But the relationship between the Goblin and the Goblin's Bride? That felt so weird! She is so young and not only is he in his thirties, but he is over 900 years old! And while I don't have a problem with age gaps, I have a problem with power imbalance. Perhaps because I've experienced it myself... This felt not good. And I didn't believe the Goblin and his love for his bride. And the last two episodes were unnecessary in my opinion. We should have ended here. This would have been a perfect ending for me. But this series had really good parts. I cried a lot and I laughed a lot. Only the romance part was not mine. Overall still a good 7 out of 10 for me.

Close To You 🇰🇷

This is a series with four different stories and pairings. Some of them I liked and some of them were meh. The last one was not my favorite. But overall it is a good little series to binge. I am a bit short on words today, so just a quick rating. A good 6,5 out of 10.

Heesu in Class 2 🇰🇷

I love this series. It is such a little gem. It is not a bl. It is a kdrama with a queer protagonist. This series deals with unrequired love, with the struggles to come out and confessing to your crush, especially when you are queer. There are so many good analyses out there, talking about things I didn't notice. A wonderful experience to read all the text after an episode. And I am so happy those two got their happy ending. But I am also so very much happy that Heesu got the chance to be angry at Seungwon and openly hurting. And they are the cutest freshly in love people out there! Look at their smiles! The world around them was really well built. The sisters were lovely! And I adored Jiyu and Chanyeong. Oh such a good good series. Simple 10 out of 10 for me.

This is no surprise, I guess. I tried episode one. But nope. I can't. MFlow is my red flag in the bl world. Well, not the only one, but damn, I won't punish myself through another of their series. There is so much wrong with this series and its first episode. They started the first episode like they did just to get some viewers, because they think we all are horny bastards (sometimes they're right). But not this time! The dialogues... the acting... the kissing... sorry, big no for me! The humor? Nope! Guess I made myself clear enough... I am noping myself out!

Okay I did get distracted by a grade being posted and I am about to be both a nerd and a millennial but god ngl I do hate classes where you get full points on all your assignments but don't actually get any actual feedback on them. What is the point. If it's a class where everyone gets passing grades for making the effort but you get actual feedback and comments, that's great! But I would genuinely rather get points docked and get extensive comments on what I did well and what needed improvement and why than this.

I... I don't know what to say about this election and the results, hence my silence on the matter (also a lot of jetlag). There is too much disappointment and too many layers to parse through as to how we got here and what is coming next. Trump and Project 2025 are coming to White House and he's picking loyalists and sycophants to put in positions of power - the kind of thing dictators and fascists have done throughout history.

What I can say is things we are already seeing at play from the fall of Dobbs (Roe v. Wade). Women are always the first victims of a facist falldown - look at the pictures of Iran from before the Iranian Revolution in 1979. They wore miniskirts, they went to universities and went out without a man accompanying them. All of that changed quickly within a span of five years as rights established for women in the mid-60s were declared null and void by the new theocratic courts. There are a lot of social complications involved in this as a larger, more through example of regime change, and I admit that is a barebones comparison from a western lens. It's a very interesting historical event on its own.

Theocracy has no place in America and now we are staring down the barrel of a 'Christian' Theocracy in a nation that does not have a declared state religion and national language. The women go first lose their rights first, because women enforce social norms within communities like the church and in the home. Women in perceived positions of power believe they are special and will be exceptions to the rights those 'beneath them' are losing. Minorities get stepped on more than usual as a consequence - but no one will listen and they have lost some avenue of power and voice in the chaos - women shut out the allies that men can be out of an understandable fear of betrayal because they already have been by those who have some power. Then the women who thought themselves special and above the fray - elevated for their whiteness, willingness to fall in line, and financial resources (Serena Joys) become affected and become enforcers still - to hold onto their perceived social power and try to ignore the freedoms they have inevitably lost.

Still waiting to see both Tupoc and Shalini. So they got some rough sketches. This time I’ve had time to do 13th and 31st.

The Discord pointed out Adarsh’s last name is more unique than the first name and from a different region of India than what I’d judged for the first name. So I readjusted his skin tone accordingly.

I lightened up Angharad’s skin tone a little, to make her look more Pereduri compared to the other Malani. This is what happens when you try to redesign things between books. There was a reason I had ended up on her old skin tone from book one. sigh

Should I have added Song’s hat? Is it stolen or not? Big mystery.

I do love Maryam’s extremely pale, extremely sleep deprived, hiding under a hood look. Now with added embroideries. By now, Maryam might be my fave 13th member to draw. As a side note, seeing how the hood is robbed from Bait, the embroideries are inspired by Kasuti embroideries.

Tristan is tragically without his tricorn. Again, we got EE confirmation he was not wearing it. The tricorn is stolen!

Trying out a new “supernatural look” for Fortuna. The trick is to make it obvious she’s not part of the rest visually. Well, besides not wearing black, that is.

I’m guessing Ferranda is the type to wear the combat uniform whenever given a choice. May or may not be wrong on that.

Bumped Zenzele into his formal uniform. Just because he did stuff with it. Besides, he might be the most likely of the semi-cory cast to regularly use it. At least one person had to still wear their hat, dammit. Let Zenzele stay outrageous. Outrageously fashionable, that is.

I considered removing Tengfei’s beginning beard. Because of Tristan’s disguise choices on Song. Then I forgot. And am too lazy to go back and change things. Maybe Tristan just didn’t want to attempt anything more than stubble?

1. Heesu in Class 2 🇰🇷 (2/10)

I can see this becoming my favorite watch of the week. This is just so korea coded. Heesu is in love with his best friend. The best friend starts to catch feelings for this girl. Heesu don't want them to get together so he tries to get the class president and her to become a couple. But the class president has a crush on Heesu. And the chaos is complete. I enjoyed the first two epsiodes. And usually I find those stumble and fall in the other's arms cringe, but here I kicked feet and was grinning like a psycho. I am already rooting for the class president!

2. My Golden Blood 🇹🇭 (3/12)

I was as confused as Tong in this scene. I mean, did they kiss for real? Was it just a dream? What exactly happend? And yes, this might not be my favorite watch, but I enjoy their dynamic and the story is kinda interesting.

3. Sweet Tooth Good Dentist 🇹🇭 (1/12)

I am curious what the story will be, because right now I can't see where this is going. But I liked the first episode. It was funny and lighthearted and Mark is such a good flirt.

ThamePo Heart That Skips A Beat 🇹🇭

It ended. It really has. I'm heartbroken and strangely calm and happy at the same time. Probably because they ended the series for me on such a good note. We saw Thame and Po choosing each other, actively. We have seen that a successful life and success are two different things. Thame and Po and the whole of Mars have opted for a successful life that doesn't depend on their success, but on the people they can share their lives with, who make them happy. And Po likes the life he leads. He is proud of who he has become. He is happy because his pride does not depend on how others judge him, but on the love that Thame feels for him. And they love each other despite success or fame or money because they have understood that this is not their source of happiness and love. Value is not defined by money or fame, but by the way you live your life, by the kindness you show to others, and by the love you can give to others. I think it's great that Mars is no longer in the company and that they can now grow together. I love that Po is working in tailoring and doing what makes him happy and what he enjoys. I love that they have this quiet life just for themselves. And I love that they have their own sex film. They'll never finish that film, but they have their own little code for sex, which is nice. And I love all the little kisses in between. Because to be honest, I couldn't hold back and not kiss Po at every opportunity either. Those little kisses are so precious to me! That's romance. That's everyday love. That's life. I love this series so damn much! Of course there are flaws, but I've decided to ignore them because they don't bother me that much. Of course a 10 out of 10 for me and probably the best series for me this year and for sure in my top five of all times.

Spare Me Your Mercy 🇹🇭

I don't like the ending. I don't like. I don't like. I don't like it. The doctor was my favorite. I wanted them to be happy together. And yes, I am an advocate for euthanasia or assisted suicide. I enjoyed the topic of this series very much. It was something different, something people can talk about, something people should talk about. The crime aspect was very pleasant, too. Overall I really enjoyed this series. And the Thiu and Kan's little lovestory was nice. That is another reason why I hate the ending. even though I knew exactly how this would end... This was a good 8,5 out of 10 for me.

Secret Relationships 🇰🇷

I really enjoyed this series so much. I liked all the different mask people were wearing. I liked our smiling hero and fell in love with Daon. I wish we could have had more dating time, some more love and coziness, but I am happy we got the happy ending. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Ossan's Love Thailand 🇹🇭

Well... it is over. And I really didn't like it. I love EarthMix. I adore them. They have incredible good chemistry and I enjoyed seeing Earth in a more humerous and fun role. I think it fits his character behind the camera (still infront of a camera, but with a role he looks comfortable in) well. But the series? A big nope for me. There is a reason why I don't go down the Ossan's Love road. The humor is not mine. And this adaptation made it clear for me to stay away from it! What is wrong with the Boss? He was such an unlikable character for me, because he always overstepped boundaries. Yes, Heng didn't communicate well or at all, but I know if someone is uncomfortable with me. And proposing without dating before? Why? That was such a messy show! And Mo causing all this trouble and break up why exactly? I couldn't understand his points at all! And in the end Heng might be an idiot, but I fell bad for him... This gets... I don't know... A 4 out of 10.
