If Hollyleaf survived
Dovewing's Silence:
- Hollyleaf's encounter with Hawkfrost goes mostly the same: She's badly injured and gets dragged to Thunderclan camp by Ivypool. She forgives Squirrelflight and Leafpool, assuming that she's going to die. As she becomes unconscious, Jayfeather refuses to give up on her, working on her wound throughout the night. As her brother is on the verge of fainting, Hollyleaf becomes stable and wakes up after a few days. As a consequence of Jayfeather not being available to check on other patients, Cloudtail dies of an infected wound.
- While recovering, Hollyleaf spends a long time speaking to Leafpool and Squirrelflight. Finally, Hollyleaf asks for her mother's reasoning for keeping her birth secret. Hollyleaf asks if she should publicly admit to the death berry incident, but Leafpool declines. Her mother says a public outrage won't help, citing the Gathering where Hollyleaf revealed the secret. Instead, Leafpool wants them to learn to understand and forgive each other, by slowly building their relationship up. Millie becomes guilt-ridden seeing these interactions and kicks start her own reconciliation with Blossomfall.
- Hollyleaf has a moment with Dovewing. The grey she-cat blurts she worried that she replaced Hollyleaf and her brothers resent her for it. Hollyleaf said she can't speak for her brothers, but Hollyleaf assures she doesn't blame Dovewing and she proved herself unworthy due to her crimes. When Dovewing admits to the three losing their powers, Hollyleaf says it could be better in the long term. The three will no longer be expected to be the main protectors of the Clans and they can settle into a more casual life.
- Ivypool is grateful that Hollyleaf saved her and wants to form a friendship with her. The two she-cats mutually bond over their similar circumstances. Hollyleaf suggests to Ivypool, that not being a part of the prophecy, could be a blessing in disguise. Hollyleaf had witnessed first-hand, the expectations that prophecy cats can put on themselves. The black she-cat wonders if she hadn't mistaken herself as the third cat, for so long, perhaps her fragile ego wouldn't have cracked under Ashfur's influence.
- Hollyleaf encourages all the trainees to redeem themselves, despite how hard it seems. However, since Hollyleaf is being asked to make all these speeches about redemption, it makes her realise she's still got a long way to go. Her nightmares about Ashfur's murder return and she wonders if she needs to go into self-exile again, to continue her atonement. Since she passed on her underground fighting skills, Thunderclan didn't seem to need her so was she staying out of her own selfishness? Jayfeather snaps her out of it: Pointing her out her family wants her here and leaving again, would hurt them more.
Bramblestar's Storm:
-After Jayfeather makes her promise to stay indefinitely, Hollyleaf needs to regain normalcy with her family. In the tunnels, she expected to die young and didn't see a future for herself. While her grand gestures of atonement are important, she needs to consider the everyday too. At first, she can be overly serious and isolate herself. But she learns to open up and have fun around her brothers over time. There are glimpses of a simpler time before it became so messy.
-Hollyleaf reaffirms her connection with Bramblestar. At one point, he pulls his adopted daughter aside. He recalls how her brothers already heard this, but she never got the chance after the tunnel collapsed. He promises his heart will be open to her but he understands if it's too awkward to consider him a father. Either way, he will respect whatever Hollyleaf chooses. The black she-cat snorts, saying she would never choose Crowfeather over him. Bramblestar winces, wondering if it should be obvious.
-Hollyleaf asks why Bramblestar lied about Ashfur accidentally slipping into the stream. He admits he panicked slightly and thought she'd been in self-exile for long enough. Hollyleaf acknowledges how he risked his ranking for her, but she must be judged alone and not use her family connections to gain an advantage. At that point, Hollyleaf's clanmates had figured out Ashfur's death was purposeful. Most cats didn't particularly care after discovering Ashfur's crimes, only judging Hollyleaf for not trusting Firestar to uphold justice.
-Bramblestar asks if Hollyleaf still has her childhood dream of being a leader. He remembered how she followed him as a kit and said she'd become like him. The black she-cat declines, saying she can't trust herself with that power. Hollyleaf feels sorry for her younger self and doesn't grow into the cat she expected to be.
-When Squirrelflight announces she's pregnant, Hollyleaf is overjoyed. After a while, her mother noticed slight doubt on her face. Being told to be honest, Hollyleaf admits she has irrational feelings of being replaced. Squirrelflight ensures her emotions are only natural after the trauma she suffered through. She ensures they can work through them as mother and daughter.
Crowfeather's Trial:
- Hollyleaf would see the similarities between herself and Breezepelt. Additionally, as the one to expose the secret, she feels somewhat responsible for Breezepelt. Therefore, she feels obligated to set the record straight with him. She details how she killed Ashfur to Breezepelt and the two help each other realise where they went wrong. Crowfeather is shocked about Hollyleaf's crimes, feeling even more of a failure of a father.
- When he realises Hollyleaf is already reconciling with Leafpool, he feels pressure to speed things along with Breezpelt. Besides helping Breezepelt's redemption, Hollyleaf feels wrong to have a long-term friendship with him, due to Jayfeather's discomfort. She wishes Breezepelt the best but says it's best to live their separate lives, as they did before the secret's exposure. While this is all going on, Nightcloud refused to speak to Hollyleaf at all, blaming her for telling the secret. After Crowfeather's Trial, Breezepelt would go on, to make serval hypocritical statements: calling Kin defectors and Squirrelflight traitors. Hollyleaf would glare at him in disbelief, wondering how he could be so unaware.
- There's a moment, where Hollyleaf wonders in on Leafpool and Crowfeather speaking at the border. The mother and daughter thinks it's his right to know and Hollyleaf confesses the death berry incident to him. Crowfeather flinches, wondering how he'd feel if Breezepelt tried to kill him directly, instead of his half-siblings. Hollyleaf states her actions overshadow anything her parents did against her. So she says Crowfeather should be forgiving her, not the other way around. Crowfeather says only the victim, Leafpool, can decide if she deserves forgiveness or not. Crowfeather says it's impossble not to feel some disgust at Hollyleaf's crime; but he'll react to it as a fellow warrior, not as a father, as he never earnt being called her 'father'.
A Vision of Shadows:
- Hollyleaf is working hard to be a good daughter to Leafpool and Squirrelflight. She'll go out of her way, to do helpful things like replacing their nests or collecting herbs. She can be overly polite around them, thinking they've been criticised too much already. This annoys Squirrelflight, as she knows her daughter is natrually headstrong and says she should have the guts to be herself. The black she-cat would be the middle point between her two brothers: Jayfeather has unresolved feelings, while Lionblaze has let go of the past. Hollyleaf tries to get along with her mothers, but there would always be the occasional awkwardness, not forgetting the past.
- Hollyleaf is struggling to find her place in the Clan. She doesn't want to get involved in too many battles, fearful she could kill again. Additionally, she doesn't want any authority she could potentially abuse. She asks Bramblestar to never consider her for deputyship and vows she'll never return as a Medicine cat apprentice. For a while, she tries training under Daisy as a permanent queen. Though she learns the position isn't right for her, not having the patience for so many kits.
-When Leafstar creates the mediator rank for Tree, it sparks her interest. It could let her avoid hurting others and the job requires memorization of the code, which she already has. She works with Tree, to become Thunderclan's first mediator. This inspires the remaining Clans to train their own mediators. For Shadowclan, Strikestone steps up as he blames warrior life for his loved ones' deaths. Minnowtail becomes Riverclan's mediator to repent for her Dark Forest training. Finally, Heathertail volunteers due to her caring nature and experience with angry toms.
- Hollyleaf helps to raise Sparkpelt and Alderheart, while Squirrelflight grieves for her lost kits. Out of her litter, she would be the closest to her adoptive siblings. Hollyleaf is quite protective of Alderheart, reminding her of Jayfeather when he was a weak kit. She likes to ensure that Jayfeather isn't too harsh on his apprentice, reminding him of their parallels. Hollyleaf and Sparkpelt are the most alike, with Sparkpelt claiming she's a "mini-me" of Hollyleaf. The two even become mentor and apprentice, at Sparkpelt's request. Hollyleaf is determined not to disappoint Sparkpelt - She can waver between being strict and soft-spoken, as she desperately tries to get the balance right. Even after her warrior ceremony, Hollyleaf assures Sparkpelt that she can always ask for advice.
- Hollyleaf has some moments in the Darktail and Onestar conflict. When Onestar compares his situation to Hollyleaf and Breezepelt on the possibility of convincing Darktail to stop - The black she-cat dismisses it, saying Darktail is truly too far gone. Hollyleaf encourages Onestar to fix his past mistakes, but he needs to be prepared to make the hard choices if he goes down that road.
Squirrelflight's Hope:
- As a mediator, Hollyleaf joins Tree in his missions, to negotiate with the Sisters peacefully. Due to her past, Hollyleaf doesn't feel like it's her place, to assume she knows better than the Clans. So Hollyleaf feels compelled to act in an offical capacity. So when Squirrelflight starts going against Bramblestar's orders, Holyleaf can't trust herself to join her mother. She simply says to Squirrelflight, 'I hope you know what you're doing'. Though when the Sisters are driven out of their camp, Hollyleaf can't stand aside at that point. She helps evacuate the sisters' kits, including helping with Moonlight's birth.
- As Squirrelflight and Bramblestar argue over their politics: Hollyleaf feels it would be nepotism if she used her position as their daughter, to voice her own politcal opinions to them. Instead, as a mediator, Hollyleaf sets up a meeting in a calm setting, for Squirrelflight and Bramblestar to have a proper heart-to-heart. Also, Hollyleaf acts as a middle-man for other family members: She asks Tawnypelt, to start supporting Bramblestar with his relationship struggles. Then Hollyleaf relays Sparkpelt's story, of her panicking due to her parents aruging.
- When Leafpool dies, Hollyleaf blurts she wishes she'd taken her place. Though Squirrelflight counters that Leafpool wants Hollyleaf to be happy and she needs to live on, for her sake. Hollyleaf and Jayfeather spend more time together, due to their shared grief.
Broken Code:
- When "Bramblestar" first starts his code-breaking agenda, he questions why Hollyleaf isn't more happy about it, considering her old dedication to it. Hollyleaf utters she can't let her dangerous obsession resurface. She states that as a mediator now, she must be able to see the warrior code critically. She gets suspicious of "Bramblestar", noticing he's never cared so much about the code before. She warns him about how that type of obsession can be all-consuming.
-Hollyleaf is the first cat to be exiled, due to her criticisms of "Bramblestar". She attempted to gather the mediators from the other Clans and convince him to stop his cruelty.
- When she discovers Ashfur's identity, she makes it her personal mission to defeat him. Though Hollyleaf refuses to join the rebels, saying she won't fight against anyone else, not even the Imposter's supporters. She swore she wouldn't kill anyone else. Her sole target is Ashfur. Instead, the mediators create a refugee camp for the Imposter's exiles. They guard the most vulnerable while others fight their fellow Clan cats.
-Hollyleaf is shocked when Lionblaze kills Harstar, dragging him off his victim. When he is appointed deputy, she tries to voice her concerns about his bad headspace. However, she is outnumbered, so she is forced to accept it.
-Hollyleaf volunteers to enter the Dark Forest, thinking innocent cats shouldn't need to sacrifice themselves. She briefly encounters Stonefur in Starclan. He recounts his execution and says it was truly sad to see another Half-Clan internalise that hatred. Holyleaf promises she'll make the younger generations less biased towards Half-Clan cats.
-Hollyleaf is distressed by her time in the Dark Forest. She realised she could've been condemned if she died in the tunnels. She is conflicted about evil spirits atoning and going to Starclan. Hollyleaf knows she was lucky to live long enough to redeem herself - At the same time, Ashfur took advantage of Starclan's leniency. The black she-cat suggests a purgatory, which is more pleasant, but residents lack the power of Starclan cats.
- Ashfur taunts Hollyleaf for her hypocrisy for killing him and leaking her parentage anyway. She responds it was wrong for her to take justice into her own hands. But at the same time, Ashfur shouldn't have expected to get away with his own crimes. The grey tom is bitter that Hollyleaf got to live on when he didn't. He claims she's as bad as him. Hollyleaf remains realistic, acknowledging she's a killer, but enforcers that Ashfur's crimes vastly outweigh hers by now. She hits Ashfur to his core when she says he's in the same leagues as Tigerstar.
-Hollyleaf feels incredibly guilty when Bristlefrost dies, feeling like she failed her friend Ivypool.
- Before Ashfur faded away, he played his trump card against Hollyleaf. He exposes her as Leafpool's attempted murderer. The black she-cat was shocked since Leafpool wanted to keep it between them. Though her family understood why Leafpool herself chose to keep it a secret, they still felt betrayed. They weren't surprised by Hollyleaf's other crimes but were still disappointed. Some loved ones take a while before they can speak to her again. Meanwhile, Hollyleaf's more distant relatives, like Lionblaze's kits, refuse to acknowledge their kinship with her.
- When Bramblestar returns, he decides it's pointless to exile her again. He reasoned it had been so long, and she'd already punished herself that way. Instead, Bramblestar explains that many warriors feel unsafe, sharing their den with a killer. He thinks it's unfair to force them to compromise. Bramblestar allows Hollyleaf to remain in Thunderclan but must have her own isolated den outside the camp boundaries. She can return to camp to receive assignments but can't sleep there anymore.
Starless Clan:
- Hollyleaf supports the warrior code changing, arguing that some rules do more damage than good. She points to her broken family, saying it could've been avoided with proper protocols. She says good mothers like Leafpool are unfairly forced to give up their kits and branded traitors.
- Hollyleaf fosters Flinchkit and Flamekit while Sparkpelt grieves. Flamepaw comes to see Hollyleaf as a mother figure. Sorrelstripe still nurses them but she's more hands-off, wanting to give Hollyleaf space to bond with Flamekit. Flamepaw has a mostly good relationship with Hollyleaf, much better than Sparkpelt. However, he has underlying doubts about her, knowing her murderous past. He is aware that Hollyleaf is the black sheep of the family and fears he might be the same. He knows he gets the occasional worried looks from his clanmates for being so close to Hollyleaf. Sometimes, he has overdramatic fears that he'll hurt Sparkpelt, as Hollyleaf did to Leafpool, artificially drawing comparisons between them.
-When Flamepaw struggles to find his place, Hollyleaf wants to help her nephew. She suggests the mediators could train him to become her successor. However, he shuts her down. He says Hollyleaf is doing the very thing he's trying to avoid: Using nepotism to get a special ranking. Hollyleaf claims mediators aren't glorious, and the Clans still question their value. However, Flamepaw refuses to humour the idea.
-Nightheart becomes bitter at Hollyleaf's choice to raise him. He argues that their clanmates look at him strangely because the resident murderer decided to get close to him. Hollyleaf mutters she was trying to help Sparkpelt, but Nightheart isn't fully convinced. He says her past makes her unfit to be a foster parent, and she shouldn't use kits to reconcile her own guilt. While Nightheart's words were excessive, Hollyleaf knew he was partly telling the truth.
-Alongside Tree, Hollyeaf tries to convince Tigerstar to leave Riverclan alone. They partly succeed, as Shadowclan warriors are slowly withdrawn from Riverclan camp.
-On one occasion, Hollyleaf overhears Berryheart trying to guilt-trip Sunbeam into abandoning Nightheart. Hearing this slander against Half-Clan families, Hollyleaf gets into a brief fight with Berryheart.
-After Nightheart matures, he believes he was too harsh towards Hollyleaf. So the next time he sees her, he apologises. The black she-cat admits she should give her nephew space and rethink how her reputation could affect her loved ones.
-As Splashtail's tyranny grows, he sees Riverclan's meditator threatening his rule. He accuses Minnowtail of being Frostpaw's conspirator and exiles her. Hollyleaf invites her to shelter in Thunderclan, and the mediators are spurred into action. During the next gathering, the five remind Riverclan that they can vote Splashtail out of power. However, the brown tom cuts the gathering short and takes the kits hostage before a vote can take place.
-The mediators make a final attempt to end everything peacefully. They appear at the Riverclan border and demand that Splashtail appear. Since they may have an important message, he appears with Floatkit in tow. Speaking carefully, Hollyleaf questions what Splashtail's endgame is. He spends every waking moment in paranoia - To sit on a throne where everyone hates him. On top of that, Splashtail is condemning himself to the Dark Forest. Hollyleaf says he will find no happiness in this life. Hollyleaf says he is still young and may still make it to Starclan if he redeems himself - That means stopping all this and surrendering.
-However, Splashtail delusionally declares that he is going to Starclan. As he threatens Floatkit, the mediators are forced to act. As Hollyleaf grabs the kit, Heathertail tackles Splashtail, but she is killed in the process. Her murder is the final straw for the Clans. They invade Riverclan's camp, and Splashtail meets his end.

Small head cannon, I think Firestar suspected Holly, Lion, and Jay weren’t Brambleclaw’s kits. I don’t think he knew everything or the extent of the lie but I think as the kits grew up he saw traits in them that couldn’t have come from brambleclaw or squirrelflight.
I think it started with Hollykit, he saw that she was jet black, something that his family didn’t have, nor bramble’s or sandstorm’s. He couldn’t be sure, so he made jokes often about how him and Cloudtail didn’t look at all alike, which was true. But he went further, compelled to protect his daughter, so he lied about how his littermate was pitch black. Everyone seemed to think that explained it, anytime someone joked about Holly being the odd one out they’d all blame it on “those darn kitty pet roots”. It was a dig at him certainly, but a small sacrifice he was willing to make.
Then as they got older, it was Jaypaw, Firestar wondered where his cool toned pelt came from, his thick stripes and blue eyes. He wondered if Ashfur was their true father, but he couldn’t ask, he couldn’t know, they were his kin. He had to protect them, but the older they got and the closer he looked, the more he saw the discrepancies. So he held his tongue and every time Sandstorm or Bramblclaw commented on the trio’s appearance, Firestar couldn’t stop himself from inventing a new littermate, a new cousin, a new uncle, that had the exact trait that was being pointed out.
When the truth was finally revealed, he couldn’t even be angry.

Does Wildfur (cat mentioned as having their back broken and dying of lung infection) get any expansion? They're only mentioned once but knowing how bad the family trees are im guessing they've been stuffed in somewhere (plus i love the name)
My DUDE!!!
MASSIVE expansion. GIGANTIC one. ACTUALLY shows up on screen and is an important supporting character, I actually need to re-do this character summary at some point because it leaves a LOT of the new stuff out.
Wildfur is going to show up as an important character in two side stories; Blackstar's, and a brand new novella for Cinderpelt.
Cinderpelt's is just a fun side novella about her friendship with Littlecloud. I don't even really have a message in mind for it. It's just exploring the brief but fascinating era where the Clan cats were trading with BloodClan.
Wildfur gets disabled by a car in that one, and Cinderpelt and Littlecloud put their heads together to invent that mobility device.
I want to show the "evolution" of some technologies as the series progresses, so this is the mobility device that Jessy eventually improves upon for Briarlight!
It helps him overcome a really bad state of depression, which was what was causing him to lay around and catch infection over and over.
In Blackstar's SE, Wildfur's just a friend of Blackstar's.
He's an example of the sorts of cats that TigerClan and Brokenstar would have discarded or given up on. Blackstar's SE is about him sitting with that.
I kinda want him to be the father of Ambermoon through surrogacy. Brightheart and Cloudtail are the bioparents. He just kinda feels like a dude with a punk daughter with a name like that.
He goes on the Great Journey in that mobility device, but needs to be carried at several points.
The Clans aren't going to leave behind the old and disabled like in canon jesus christ. That was super fucked up actually
"Elders are respected and cared for :)" my ASS
In terms of personality;
He's super vain and haughty, VERY proud person. Rockstar vibes.
Takes great care of his hair
Different people take their disability differently, especially when it massively alters your life. Compared to Briarlight, Wildfur actually had an easier time adjusting once his depression subsided.
Unlike Briar, he was never a very active or athletic person.
He doesn't mind being an elder, it means he gets to do whatever he wants and boss apprentices around. Pretty sweet deal tbh.
Campbound activities are more his style. He keeps an extra eye on the kits, likes to help out kitchen patrol. Has a lot to do with flax processing.

The FrostFour and WhiteWillow family tree rewrite!
Only one thing really changed with the frostfour is now I added Snowkit, but now he dies much younger from natural causes and half his “story” goes to Mistlekit and the other half goes to Cloudtail.
Mistlekit is now apart of Tawny and Brambles litter and gets taken by the hawk trying to protect their litter mates. Cloudtail is now deaf and with the help of Dappletail, Fireheart and Brindleface they make new ways for Cloudpaw to hunt and fight, I don’t want to ramble too much because I’m gonna make posts for characters some time in the future.
Ok on to the WhiteWillow family, Graystripe and Darkstripe have the same father, Graystripe stays in Riverclan and doesn’t have kits with Millie but him and Mosspelt are besties and he ends being the sire for Willowshine.
SorrelBracken has less grandkits, Lilyheart has no kids and CinderLion only have two daughters Hollytuft and Honeysnap, who is a combination of Honeyfur and Snaptooth.
Molepaw has been renamed Sootpaw after his uncle and also Sorreltail has a history of twins in her family so Cinderheart and Molepaw are twins.
Family trees that relate to this one:
Dawnfeather and Mistpelt // Larksong // Daisytoe // Daisy // SandFire // The Apple line

Daughter of Brightheart and Cloudtail
"Every ThunderClan cat was a hero that day. Sometimes I think my pelt still smells of blood, and when I'm hunting alone in the woods, every rustle reminds me of badgers marching against my home. We were saved by our battle skills, and we will use them again if we must."

In the season of the holidays, let's talk about the Clan Culture of Gift-giving!
There are many different kinds of things that Clan cats give each other as gifts. I will show some of the different categories, feel free to ask about anything in them.
Flowers (for all intents and purposes, most flowers are no longer toxic to cats)
Flowers are a very common gift amongst the Clans. Different flowers also have different meanings. Lavender is given as a general "wishing you peace" as the scent has a calming effect. A rose is seen as a VERY bold gift, as they are mainly found in Twoleg gardens, and posses thorns. Stems, petals, and leaves are all seen as gifts themselves, but all parts of a flower have the same culture.
Scorchfur brought Snowbird tulip petals while they were courting. Quite brave and romantic since they come from Twoleg gardens!
Tree brought Needlekit and Rootkit daisies while they were small. Oops, that's a gift younger cats tend to give older cats. Thankfully they liked the smell.
Palebird liked giving heather to Woollytail, which is seen a nice, generic gift in Windclan. In any other Clan, it is pretty much seen as just friendly. Heather flowers were Woollytail's favorite though,
Generally, they are given to from any cat to any cat, but have their own meaning unlike human flower language.
Stones/Shells
Since shells are nearly Riverclan exclusive, I'm gonna throw them into this category.
Stones are seen as adult gifts. You don't give them to kits, they are given to fellow warriors. If a mentor gives one to their apprentice, it is seen as a HIGH compliment. Longtail gave a lovely smooth pebble from the river to Swiftpaw. Cloudtail buried it with him. Rainwhisker gave a jagged little stone to his friend Spiderleg, which he uses to help cut up mushroom pieces, good useful gift!
Shellheart, true to his name, gave shells to Rainflower while they were courting. She threw them all out when they split up. Crookedjaw gave a shiny shell to Willowbreeze when they got together. Silverstream kept it and it is now in Blossomfall's possession, as Blossomfall is Silverstream's daughter now.
Berries/Mushrooms/Nuts
Snacks! Snacks are great gifts! Anyone can give these out to anyone, and some have basic messages. They quite different from straight up meals. They are very often given from parents to children, especially nuts.
Acorns are very common in Thunderclan land, and Squirrelflight liked giving them to The Three for them to eat and play with.
A large beech nut tree grows on Riverclan land, close to their Windclan border. Beechfur would leave small piles of beech nuts for Gorsetail to find and give to their kits.
Mushrooms are more mature, since they have tastes that young kittens may not enjoy. They are most common found in Shadowclan's beautiful marshy land, but grow in other areas too. I'll be doing a post on the different mushrooms that grow in WCR. FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES THE MUSHROOMS USED IN THE STORY ARE NOT TOXIC TO CATS.
Toadstep made fried mushrooms (beefsteak mushroom) for Featherpelt during an Aftergathering while she was pregnant.
Berries are also incredibly popular! Whether for fur dye, food, or bait for hunting, every cat is happy to get gifted berries. They are most popular to give to cats you are either kin with or have mentored/been mentored by.
Puddleshine likes to give sloe berries to Shadowsight, as a bush grows on the Thunder-Shadow border.
Strawberries grow near the Wind-Thunder border, and strawberries are Leafpool's favorite snack, so Squirrelflight does her best to get lots for Leafpool, and got some for the Three.
Snowtail likes to give lots of blackberries to his mother Speckletail, as blackberries are both their favorite.
Feathers
Feathers are a lovely gift! They are often used in nest building or as toys for kits. (Or, if you for some reason make the hike up the mountain to the Tribe Of Snowy Peaks, used in sculptures) (except eagle feathers, which are only for nesting because of their stiffness being perfect for keeping nests together)
Note: You do not give Cuckoo feathers as gifts. Ever. It is seen as incredibly disrespectful. They are NOT gifts.
Icecloud likes to give robin feathers to her mom and dad, she makes sure they have nice nests, and knows that Dustpelt really likes the colour of them.
Ivypool found a large crow feather once and gave it to Blossomfall, who especially appreciated to softness while recovering from having their kits.
Tigerclaw gave Firepaw cuckoo feathers, because he knew Firepaw wouldn't know what they meant.
Clay
Clay pots, bowls and plates are all very good things. Most often given to Medicine Cats or Cooks since they get the most use out of them, they are the most frequent recipients. Each is very unique and has a different vibe.
Briarlight made a small plate for Jayfeather while she was in recovery, using her claws to make lots of different textures.
Bristlefrost made bowls for Rootspring and Shadowsight, they both still have them. They have her pawprint in the middle.
Curlfeather made Frostpaw lots of bowls, each with curly, looping designs on them...
Wood
Woodworking is difficult, but since the discovery of Fire, was revamped with woodburning. Tools and decorations are made, but while decorations are for anyone, tools are not for apprentices (aside from inheritance).
Pieces of wood are cut with sharpened stones and bone tools, then shaped as best as the WCR cats can get them.
Tools are important to the Clans, and inherited and passed down until the tool breaks, to which it must be replaced by the cat who broke it. Tools are a very high-value gift and a huge honor to receive.
Ashfur gave Ferncloud a small decoration, he burned a small pattern into it for the nursery to smell nice. She threw it out after his death.
Breezepelt gave his first litter (Smokehaze, Brindlewing and Needletail) their own tools when they were apprentices, despite the pushback he got.
Food/Meals
Food is always an amazing gift, especially when you know someone's favorite meal. You can always expect a meal gift if you are close with a cat who likes cooking, such as Sparkpelt, Strikestone, Featherpelt, Firefern, and Graymist.
To apologize to Daisy, Spiderleg made her favorite dish: scrambled egg. It was burnt in one part, undercooked in another, and not enough shell was in it, but Daisy told him it was the best meal she had ever had.
Spicy Chub Soup is Hawkfrost's favorite meal, so his daughter Cloudsnap learned to make it for him whenever he looks stressed out.
Squirrelflight makes Fried Squirrel for her family members, often drizzling it with honey as well.
All in all, giving gifts is done all year round, but a lot of gift exchanges happen at Gatherings or Aftergatherings.
Happy Holidays, whatever you celebrate!

A Change of Fate: My boy
Firestar stretched as he woke up. Life in ThunderClan was good. The orange tom was of course happy to help reform SkyClan, but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t happy to be home with both his mates and clan. Speaking of his mates, he and Graystripe were ecstatic to learn about Sandstorm’s pregnancy. Firestar wouldn’t be surprised if the other Clans hadn’t heard from all the shouting done that day.
The clan would be brimming with more kits soon and not just because of Sandstorm. Brightheart had given birth to her and Cloudtail’s daughter, Whitekit, and Ferncloud had recently announced her second litter with Snowear. Firestar was thrilled for his nephew and the others. All of their kits had big families that already loved them deeply. On top of that, Firestar was thrilled to say Brambleflower and Whitestorm’s kits were doing swimmingly as a new warrior and apprentices.
Firestar was finally able to slip out from under Sandstorm and made his way out into the camp. As he left his den, movement caught his gaze. Dogscar was coming out of the medicine cat’s den, probably on his way to see Brightheart and Ferncloud. Dogscar had really come into his own after becoming a medicine cat. Firestar’s heart still sometimes ached at the loss of two great warriors. But it was Cinderpelt and Dogscar’s decision. He was happy so long as they were happy.
Not everything was wonderful of course. Willowpelt’s death and Longtail losing his eyesight were still tragedies. But the clan would always remember Willowpelt fondly and Longtail got along well with the other elders. All in all, life couldn’t be better.
“Firestar!” The leader startled at the call. Coming into the clan entrance was Dustpelt, Ashfur, and Mousefur. It was the brown tom that called out to him. Dustpelt and Firestar’s relationship had never been a good one, but it downright went up in flames after the reveal that Dustpelt’s brother, Ravenpaw now Scourge was still alive.
Maybe Firestar should have felt bad, but the orange tom didn’t. Dustpelt had been awful to both him and his friend. StarClan, Firestar wasn’t even aware the two toms were brothers until after Ravenpaw fled! Firestar refused to feel sorry for a cat that had not been trustworthy at the time.
Behind the three warriors, Firestar was surprised to see his sister. Along with them was a long-furred gray she-cat Firestar had not seen before. Dangling from the newcomer’s jaw was a white kit with black spots covering his face and body.
“Princess!” The orange leader jumped down from the Highrock to meet the she-cat. The tom bumped heads with his sister when he reached her. “What are you doing here?”
Princess turned towards the new she-cat and kit. “This is Smoke,” she introduced. “And she requires your help.”
“What can I do for you, Smoke?” Firestar asked. The gray she-cat looked around the camp, a stressed look on her face. “Is this WindClan?” the she-cat asked.
“No. This is ThunderClan. Do you have business with WindClan?”
Smoke shook her head. “I do, technically. But I don’t believe they can help me. Not like your sister said you could.” She pushed the kit forward. “This is my son. I lost my Twoleg recently and can’t take care of him. His…father…is a warrior. But refuses to help.”
“A ThunderClan warrior?” the orange leader questioned. He didn’t believe so, not with how she spoke about WindClan, but he wanted to be certain. If it was in fact one of his warriors, he would have their head. Abandoning a kit in need was unacceptable.
“No. I wasn’t even aware there were other clans until I spoke with Princess. She told me how you were once a kittypet and what you did for her son. Please, I don’t have any other options,” the she-cat pleaded.
Firestar looked down at the kit. He knew what he wanted to do, but he still remembers how the clan treated him and Cloudtail when they first showed up. He loved his clanmates dearly, but it’s hard to forget sometimes how cruel they had been in the beginning.
“Of course we’ll take him in!” Firestar turned to see Graystripe coming towards them. Up on the Highrock, he spotted Sandstorm coming out of their shared den. She must have woken out when she heard the commotion. She was slowly making her way down the rocks to come standby her mate.
Graystripe pressed up against his mate to get a better look at the kit. “Oh, yeah. He’s definitely WindClan. Look at those ears. Only a WindClan cat could have ears like that.”
“Graystripe-.”
“Aw, I’m just teasing Firestar. Don’t get all pouty on me.”
Sandstorm had came up on Firestar’s other side as the toms continued to tease each other. The she-cat investigated the kit. A look of surprise crossed her face as the kit pressed his face to hers before her expression melted into a small smile.
A snort on his right caught Firestar’s attention. That had been Cloudtail. “You planning on adopting another kit, Firestar?” his nephew teased.
Firestar blinked. “What makes you think I’m taking him?”
That statement was met with silence for a brief moment. From the medicine den, Cinderpelt erupted with laughter. The she-cat pushed her way out into the clearing. “You’re kidding, right?” she called. “Half the clan calls you dad, Firestar. Who else would raise him?”
Murmurs of agreement filled the clan cats. No one seemed to be displeased with the idea of taking in another kittypet. Which was good. Great even. Stars above, Firestar thought. Was he really that predictable? Despite the teasing and gossip, the thought had crossed his mind, but that wouldn’t be fair to put that on Sandstorm or Graystripe.
“You’re thinking too hard,” Sandstorm commented. While Firestar was distracted, the she-cat had laid down to allow the kit to nurse her. “I don’t mind claiming him as ours if you two don’t. Graystripe?”
On his other side, Graystripe had started purring. “It’s fine by me.” His gaze turned towards Smoke. “Does he have a name?”
The gray she-cat shook her head. “I was afraid of getting attached. I’m sorry.”
Looking at the kit’s features, a name kept popping into Firestar’s head, but he didn’t say it. He didn’t think it would be appropriate to name him after that cat. Instead, he asked Smoke, “If you don’t mind me asking, who is his father?”
“Onewhisker.”
The whole clan froze as everyone’s eyes landed on their leader. It was no secret that the orange tom was friends with the WindClan warrior, and this? This was devasting.
“I see,” Firestar said in a neutral voice. The calm tone filled the clan with dread. It would have been less concerning if he started yelling. “I’ll be right back.”
Firestar made his way towards the camp’s entrance before he was blocked by his deputy, Whitestorm. “Where are you going?”
“Nowhere. Move Whitestorm.”
The senior warrior didn’t. “Firestar, you aren’t planning on going to WindClan? Are you?”
“He abandoned his own kit.”
“Firestar-.”
“No. He abandoned his own kit. I want to know why.”
“No. You don’t. Because whatever answer he gives you is going to hurt. Because you know and I know what the actual reason is.”
Firestar continued to glare at his deputy. Firestar was the leader; he could technically do whatever he wanted. If he wanted to go all the way to WindClan to yell at his – Stars, did Firestar even want to be friends with Onewhisker still? How could he ever look at the tom the same way again? Because Whitestorm was right. There really was only one explanation, wasn’t there? Did the other tom think the same way about him? That Firestar was still just some kittypet playing pretend?
“Well, it’s his loss then.” That was Longtail. Shocked coursed through Firestar’s veins. The former warrior had been one of Firestar's biggest dissenters and even though time had passed and Longtail was civil with the now leader, he didn’t actually think the warrior’s entire opinion had changed that much on the matter.
“Anyone who leaves a kit for such a mousebrain reason,” Longtail continued, “as who’s their parents are or what blood runs through their veins, isn’t worth anyone’s time.”
Once again, the clearing filled with murmurs of agreement. Firestar didn’t know how to feel about this. He was of course glad no one was fighting him on whether or not they should keep the kit. But…
But he remembers how hard Longtail fought him on his first day. He remembers how hard he had to work just to receive the same praise as his clanmates. Remembers the way they talked about him and Cloudtail behind their backs, especially after Cloudtail’s disappearance.
Whitestorm bumped into him from behind, interrupting his dark thoughts. “Don’t look so surprised, Firestar. You and your nephew have proved time and time again just by existing that we were wrong. Stars, if we want to continue to hammer the point home, cats like Tigerstar and Brokenstar prove not every Clan cat is trustworthy.” In a quieter voice as to not embarrass his leader, Whitestorm admits, “I know it doesn't take back how you were treated when you arrived here, but we’re sorry. You deserve to be here. As does this kit. If Onewhisker can’t see that, then that’s on him.”
Firestar looked around the camp at all the cats he had come to know. It wasn’t always easy to forgive them, and he would never forget, but they were trying. That would just have to be enough.
“Alright,” he said turning to Smoke. “We’ll happily take him in.” The kittypet beamed at the answer. Before anyone could change his mind, he added, “You’re more than welcome to stay too, you know.”
The she-cat just shook her head, “I wasn’t meant for your life.” She looks down at the kitten. “But he can be.”
Firestar nodded before turning to his sister. “Will you two at least stay for a bit? It’s been a while since we last spoke.” Princess seemed surprised. She wasn’t a warrior; she had no business being here. But the she-cat would be lying if she said she didn’t miss seeing her brother.
The day was filled with stories and laughter, the kittypet and any cat really who wanted to trade tales about their leader and brother. Yes, Firestar thought. This would be enough.
***
Later, when Firestar, Sandstorm, and Graystripe were alone, they would discuss what to name their son. Though saying the three of them were discussing wasn’t quite accurate. Graystripe hadn’t spoken much. He had been fine earlier. But throughout the day, he became more withdrawn. Was he maybe having second thoughts?
“You alright, fluffy butt?” Sandstorm asked from underneath Firestar. The kit was curled up next to the she-cat’s stomach, fast asleep.
“Do…” he paused, gathering his thought. “Am I like Onewhisker?”
“What do you mean?”
“Onewhisker abandoned his kit. I’m not exactly in Feathertail and Stormfur’s life either. I sometimes feel like a failed them.”
“You went to go live in RiverClan with them. And Leopardstar got you kicked out. You didn’t exactly have a choice. Onewhisker did,” Sandstorm pointed out.
“I could have fought to stay harder.”
“Graystripe you go out of your way to see them any chance you get,” Firestar said rubbing his face against the other tom’s. “Maybe you don’t see them every day, but you try to be in their lives in any way you can. These are two very situations.”
Graystripe didn’t respond. He just continued to sit and stew. That’s when Sandstorm spoke up again. “Hey. How about you name the kit?”
The gray tom blinked. “Me?”
“Why not? Everything Firestar and I suggest keeps getting shot down. And you’re going to be raising him with us.”
Graystripe continued not to say anything, though his face was no longer saddened. Finally, nervously, he asked, “What about Darkkit?”
The two other cats shared a look. “Is that really a good idea?”
Graystripe rested head on his paws. “I know it’s mousebrain. Honestly, I don’t understand why I want to name him that. It’s not like me and my brother were even close. But I…” The two other warriors wait. “I just want to honor the cat he could have been. The one I remember back when I was a kit. I want this kit to be better than Darkstripe.”
Firestar and Sandstorm share a look. It’s a lot of pressure to put on a kit. To be better than your namesake. But Darkkit was not Darkstripe. They would not let him fall.
“Well, that settles it.” Firestar turned to face his son. “Welcome to the clan, Darkkit.”

What’s a canon warrior cat couple that the fandom loves but you personally dislike/could never get into?
this is actually a really interesting question since i feel like the fandom dislikes... MOST of the canon couples LMAO or are very split on them, and the ones people DO like (cloudtail x brightheart, firestar x sandstorm, etc) i usually also like lol
i don't know if the fandom LOVES tree x violetshine, but i've never seen anyone really dislike the ship either and i... i don't like the ship lmao, like at all, like they're kind of cute in the broken code and if that had been the only thing i had read about them then i'd probably like it, but...
i don't really care about tree as a character, just in general, for some reason i just cannot get myself to care about him, like he SHOULD be interesting and neat, but for some reason i find him not BORING, but uninteresting, maybe BECAUSE of how uninterested HE is in the clans, it's only when he's actually invested in anyone or anything (like how he was invested in helping and protecting his son and family in tbc) that i become more interested in him
but more than that though... him getting with violetshine just feels really forced and... weird... like tree was an ADULT who met her MOTHER while she was pregnant with her and pebbleshine was like "i feel like our destinies are intertwined" and it's like, yeah, he's gonna help your unborn daughters see you and then marry one of them, he also helped needletail, essentially violetshine's foster/adopted mother/sister, when she was an apprentice and he was AN ADULT
like, we don't know how much older he is than her exactly, but i think when tree's roots came out i was able to estimate that he was probably roughly about the same age as pebbleshine was when they met, which pebbleshine was very young when she had her kits, probably only like less than a year and a half or around that age, which normally that age gap wouldn't really be that weird or bad, ESPECIALLY since they technically met when they were adults, but the fact that tree was just so... involved and intertwined with violetshine's mother and foster/adopted mother/sister and then he was like "oh i am in love with the child of the mother i helped keep safe before she gave birth to said child" is so
WEIRD to me??
#warrior cats#and again besides that it just felt REALLY forced#i wish violetshine got a love interest who was like... in the kin or something and she got them to change to the clans' side or something#or like she get with like loki or zelda honestly#like loki could've been a like apprentice-ish age kittypet that the kin took in/forced to join and violetpaw protected him and tried to#keep him on the good side and they found the companionship and love they needed to survive within each other#maybe that's what i'll do in my re-write honestly because i can't find a way to naturally put tree in my rewrite in the same role he has#in the books lol#anyway the point is i don't like either violetshine or twigbranch's love interests they were both done so badly#BUT AT LEAST VIOLETSHINE DIDN'T MARRY HER FIRST COUSIN ONCE REMOVED WHO IS TECHNICALLY ALSO HER FOSTER BROTHER#AND SHE ACTUALLY MARRIED SOMEONE WHO WASN'T AN ASSHOLE i mean finleap got better BUT HE WAS STILL SUCH AN ASSHOLE AND TOXIC ORIGINALLY

No but I really can't get over how the Erins have allowed this many levels of inbreeding in Thunderclan.
Taking Moonpaw for example:
Moonpaw's mother is Thriftear.
Thriftear's mother is Ivypool, who's the granddaughter of Cloudtail (Firestar's nephew) and Brightheart.
Thriftear's father is Fernsong. Fernsong is the son of Lionblaze (Firestar's grandson) and Cinderheart. Cinderheart is the daughter of Brackenfur, who's the brother of Brightheart.
Moonpaw's father is Bayshine.
Bayshine's mother is Sorrelstripe, who's the daughter of Lionblaze and Cinderheart. Sorrelstripe is the sister of Fernsong.
Bayshine's father is Dewnose, who's the son of Cloudtail and Brightheart. Brightheart is the sister of Brackenfur.
How do you mess up this badly.

how about dovewing and ivypool!
Silver sisters...
Ivypool's description is silver-and-white tabby, so she will be black silver tabby bicolor. (Heterozygous for white, but then again Brightheart, the one who passed the ws allele to her through Whitewing historically has lots of white, and she's a heterozygote too. So bicolor is good. Consistent. And then I can make Frostfur a heterozygous blue tabby point bicolor with good consciense, and... that's where the fun ends, because i have to give either Robinwing or Fuzzypelt a high-ish white spotting, and neither has any canon white. At the moment I lean toward tuxedo Fuzzypelt rather than calico Robinwing, because she has the iconic orange breast, and that'd disappear with the white.)
Back to Ivypool. I made her mackerel, because ivy has long tendrils = mackerel stripes. Yeah.

(A little less white in my head.)
Dovewing is "pale grey", which i translated into blue tortoiseshell silver spotted tabby. Solid, even smoke is too dark for me for this description, shaded is too fancy, and don't blame me for the tortie part, I heard they gave her a red son recently!
It works tho, because Whitewing is already a tortie under the white (must be, she has a red mother and a black daughter), and the cream patches are easy to overlook on tabbies.

(I think this cat is just a blue silver, not a tortie, but imagine some cream on it.)
(I headcanon her aunt, Ambermoon with the same color, which is a little funny. But in my head Ambermoon has a big cream patch on her face, so they don't look much alike.)
For now their shared silver allele comes from the Whitewing-Cloudtail-Cloudtail's-father line, all of whom are dominant whites, so it's not visible until Dovewing and Ivypool borns. However i'm not opposed to the Whitewing-Brightheart-Lionheart-Speckletail idea either.
Edit: i made Birchfall silver too 😸 Ivypool is homozygous silver now
(warrior cats genetics ask game)
#warrior cats genetics#dovewing#ivypool#ask and answer#black silver mackerel tabby bicolor#blue tortoiseshell silver spotted tabby#waita minute i just realized this makes dovewing basically a perfect mix of jayfeather (blue tabby) and lionblaze (red silver)#i'm going insane#cats

i hate. ashfur and whitewing. that’s his niece. that’s literally his brother’s daughter. and i feel like the books comment plenty on ashfur and cloudtail being littermates that it’s so weird how popular it is. it also doesn’t really… add anything to the story? at all? you’re gonna tell me making ashfur dovewing’s dad is more interesting than her CANONICAL dad training in the dark forest? not to mention ivypool having to train her dad in the dark forest? lol
