I wont say it's better than Cleopatra and Frankenstein. These are based on two different things. But, of course, both the stories are epic.

In some events, gatherings and emotional burst outs of the sisters, I missed the presence of Nicky, wondered what would have happened if she was there.

The more you find yourself wanting, the more you want.” My very favourite thing about Cleopatra and Frankenstein is how often I was left surprised. Surprised by how almost every character revealed themselves to be more than what I initially assumed. Surprised by how moved I was by their struggles and vulnerabilities. Surprised by the turns the story took. Surprised that I still have tears left in my body after the battering my heart took from the last book I read. The writing was so vivid and alive and cinematic. I love that we got tiny peeks into all the people who touched Cleo and Frank’s lives, but more than anything I loved Eleanor and Eleanor’s mom. I have read Eleanor’s chapters over and over again and there are only two. “When the darkest part of you meets the darkest part of me, it creates light.” ✨🎨✨🎨✨ Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors is a contemporary romance novel centred around Frank and Cleo in New York. Following Cleo and Frank after they meet at a Halloween party and quickly fall into marriage, this book was completely and totally character driven, and I absolutely loved that there were so many points of view. The characters were complex and unlikable and interesting, and it made for an intriguing read. That being said, a lot of the characters were also incredibly, but during this novel, it sort of worked. The book was incredibly well written, as it was witty and charming, but it also didn’t shy away from discussing some hard hitting topics, which made it incredibly impactful at times. The topic of self-harm and mental illnesses were sometimes mishandled, which lessened some of my enjoyment of the novel. I absolutely loved that this book didn’t necessarily have a happy ending for all of the characters, as it made them all a little bit more relatable.
