I’m really excited about this fanfic that I’m working on! The premise is: Years after Xana is destroyed, parts of him still reside within William and Eva, and he is able to possess them long enough to make them have sex, and Eva gets pregnant with the human incarnation of Xana!

Question 9 for TALW

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? In regards to my main continuity/body of work...no. While I've had different ideas over the course of development and different scenes, I've more or less kept true to the original concept I created for TALW. From beginning to end, I knew who the members of the team would be, what kind of basic superhero type I wanted each to be, the kind of world I wanted to turn Code Lyoko into, and the basic concept for how I wanted XANA and other villains to function in TALW's narrative. Other people's works, however? Oh boy...

Ever since I showed TALW to a small collection of fellow fanfic writers (Including you, Ani, so don't even act like you're innocent), fan variations and intepretations have been coming from them like hot cakes. Some are mixing of other AUs or works with TALW, others are crossovers with specific TALW characters (For example, @miracleofdatabase's Jeremie Mashup Comic has the TALW version of Jeremie), and there are even some that are just straight up AUs inside of AUs of TALW.

For example, there's a version of TALW where, instead of just Alex being the only canon adjacent OC added to the fic, there's a whole squad of kids coming from us. And, in a variant of this specific breed of AU, one of those OCs take the place of a canon TALW character who was going to essentially die and turn into a minion of XANA after Eva Skinner fucked her over. This event kind of breaks the rest of the OCs and turns them into vigilantes. AND THERE'S EVEN A CROSSOVER OF THAT, where this AU of an AU's version of @erkolblinguispretre's OC and mine got thrown into the world of @the-writing-artist's Jerlita roleswap AU. It's not even a TALW variation of it, it's just the roleswap AU, canon-adjacent-ness and all, and two idiot vigilantes from a world that is WAY more dangerous and crazy than anything the canon LWs had to deal with are just. chilling. menacingly.

So, in terms of my own canon material...no. In terms of fan content? YES, YES, AND MORE YES!

She was raised from poverty, living off of doing works for construction, because of how used she was to physical labor, she is built like a brick, she was pushed back a grade because her parents can't afford to pay for her school at the time

She got bullied a lot over the fact she was pushed back a grade, but she usually lets her size do the talking, she has the reputation as the scariest person in Kadic, mostly because of her size and because of her oddly terrifying last name, something Eva fully embraced (She will usually refer to herself as "The Skinner" whenever she has the chance to)

I did this drawing for Atmu’s season 5 adaptation. Although this may seem difficult to believe, I’m not a fan of drawing girls showing her panties, but since he requested this way, that’s what I did.

As a personal opinion, I like Odd with his hair down, just like in the episode of XANA awakens.

Yo, ummm, remember that I have a Code Lyoko superhero AU called The Amazing Lyoko Warriors? Well, TIL that Eva Skinner exists and, since I do not like her character in the slightest...I made her ten times better.

Behold: Disciple!

Eva Skinner as a villianous criminal mastermind known for her acts of domestic terrorism and her insane desire to be noticed by XANA. Click the read more for a better in-depth look!

Disciple

AKA Eva Skinner

An absolute shell of a person, who wants nothing more to feel like she means something in society. However, she always got rejected by those on the side of the law, despite being smarter, richer, and more powerful than most of the adults in her life combined.

So, after hearing about XANA from a local TV report, she decided that the only way she'll feel like someone cares about her is by getting the attention of this artificial intelligence.

However, you do not get noticed by XANA overnight, and XANA does not care for petty criminals and brats. It only eyes for those with drive, power, and the capacity to achieve it.

So, in order to grab the attention of this goliath of a monster, Eva became a monster herself. And thus, became a supervillain.

Disciple, a criminal mastermind responsible for several local terrorist attacks, robberies, assassination attempts, and other horrible crimes. She always seemed to allude the Lyoko Warriors, always one step ahead…until they realized that she had placed a listening device on Odd, which revealed her identity to them.

Now a wanted criminal, she still acts from the shadows, desperate for XANA's affection…even if she has to augment her body with cybernetics and lose her humanity to get it.

She actually went to Kadic for a little bit before her secret was blown wide open to the whole wide world.

In fact, Odd used to have a crush on her before it was revealed that she was secretly the terrorist criminal mastermind supervillain Disciple...he'd rather not talk about it now.

She eventually becomes a cyborg, augmenting her body with various cybernetics to make her feel more in-tune with XANA, if very superficially.

Some crimes she may or may not have done/I have planned for her to do:

Bombs. Several of them.

Pouring mutagenic substances in the water supply (as in, like shit similar to TMNT mutagen)

Trying to kill the President of France

Hiring Chairman and multiple other villains several times

Giving Aelita a modified version of the bubonic plague

Making an Immortal want to destroy the Earth

And finally, my favorite: Trying to steal a highly dangerous device…just so she could impress XANA's right hand man.

She's insane, and I have not read Chronicles in the slightest, so this is not character accurate at all...but I love her.

I’m still laughing at that comment. And trying to figure out what it means. But its so funny.

Was a comment on that joke post about how much I dislike the protags of Code Lyoko and Animorphs.

Like? Yes? They are sad children with powers? I’ve watched/read both things? I know who the protags are?

And like? ‘kids with cool powers and ptsd’ is a sentence that can define like 90% of all child protagonists in fiction? The Lyoko Warriors and Animorphs are literally not unique?

Like Zak Saturday (The Secret Saturdays)? The Burners (Motorcity)? Tony Jones, Edyn, Strag (Magi-Nation)? Martin Mystery and Diana Lombard (Martin Mystery)? The Get Down Brothers and Soul Madonnas [no powers but who cares](The Get Down)? Eva/Molly, Jordon, Aikka (Oban Star Racers)? The main cast of Spider Riders? The Teen Titans and friends (Teen Titans)? The many casts of Digimon? Them kids in Avatar the Last Airbender? Jade and Paco in Jackie Chan Adventures? The kids in Xiaolin Showdown? The kids in that new Voltron show? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (old live action movies, 2003 cartoon, and most recent 2d cartoon)? The kids in Three Delivery? Jaime Reyes, his friends, and sister in this first comic run? Manny from Empowered [def not a childrens series but I read it as a kid so]? Ed, Al, Mei, Ling, and Lan Fan from FMA? The Marvel Runaways? Coraline and Wybe (multple versions of Coraline)? That kid and those teenagers from Train to Busan? And more that I can’t recall in the moment!

Guess what those characters? All kids! All different amounts of fucked-up, had fucked up shit happen to them, and/or probably need hugs and therapy! Some have cool powers or tech or just skills and survival instincts! Some of them had the fate of the world on their shoulders! Or just the fate of the local China Town. Or just looking out for their own lives and those of the people close to them. Some of them are fuckbois. Some of them are brats. Some are just kinda dumb. A few of them are very morally questionable. 

But guess what? I like them. I want to see them thrive and succeed in whatever they’re trying to do. 

My like and affection was fucking earned. Not just b/c they happen to be sad kids. Sad kids are a dime a dozen. 

To earn my respect and affection either they have to be very well written on the whole to make me care about the characters no matter what they do. Or the characters are strong enough to be a draw on their own despite being surrounded by shit or average writing. 

Animorphs is poorly written. Animorphs is bad. Its iconic yes, but like fucking Naruto is iconic and there are very few people who are able to delude themselves into thinking that Naruto is good. And guess what? I don’t give a shit about the characters! I’m not rooting for those cunts. I am actively baffled that they haven’t died yet from their own stupidity. Cassie and Tobias being the worst shit stains of human beings on the team. 

I would never ever say that Code Lyoko is bad or poorly written. B/c Code Lyoko is still one of the better cartoons I’ve ever watched. Lamo, i’m just not a kid anymore. I notice details. The warriors are just kinda jerks and not good people and not fun enough to make up for that. And frankly a decent chunk of the shit they’re going through is self inflicted from their selfish decisions. And its a lot more fun to root for the angry AI trying to kill these cockroach motherfuckers.
