don’t mind me just analysing my own fanfics over here:
Some quiet parallels I worked into Codex Solace and Socialites (y’know, aside from the ever-iconic tissue discourse):
In Codex Chapter 1, when Nico says he’s going for a smoke and Ryan asks, “was that an invitation?”—it’s this charged, ambiguous moment, and Nico doesn’t answer, but he allows Ryan to accompany him anyways, not because he wants him but because he needs the distraction. Fast-forward to Socialites Chapter 8, Nico says he is going out for a smoke and Will is spiraling mid-conversation thinking Nico’s trying to politely dip out, only for Nico to say, “That was an invitation to join me.” It’s the same action, but this time the meaning is clear. Nico’s asking Will to come with him. The growth! The intention!
Then in Codex Chapter 2, Nico sees Will looking wrecked and anxious and instinctively wants to offer him a cigarette—not to smoke, just to have something to hold. Something tactile, a distraction. He doesn’t do it. He’s still watching from a distance.
But by Socialites Chapter 13, on the balcony after dinner, Nico does offer Will a cigarette. And yes, it’s half a joke—but also not really. Nico’s still reeling from his own family mess, but he’s noticed Will’s been a little off, and without even thinking, he reaches for the one comfort he knows. It’s a weird, backhanded kind of tenderness—offering Will his own maladaptive coping mechanism because it’s the only form of comfort he knows how to extend.
Anyway. These two disasters really do speak in smoke signals.
One of the ongoing symbols I’ve been playing with in Socialites and Codex Solace is smoking—not just as an action, but as a kind of emotional shorthand for Nico and his internal world.
For Nico, smoking is what he turns to when he’s stressed, overstimulated, or emotionally overwhelmed. It’s ritualistic, almost meditative—something tactile and familiar that helps him create distance from his own feelings. He doesn’t always smoke because he wants to—he smokes because it helps him not feel everything else. It’s control, it’s avoidance, it’s muscle memory from his more self-destructive years.
From Will’s point of view, though, it reads entirely differently. Will often describes Nico smoking with this reverent, lyrical tone—how the smoke clings to him, how it curls around his fingers or halo-like through his hair, how it feels like watching a ghost half-formed. It becomes this visual representation of how untouchable and ephemeral Nico feels to him. The smoke is both seductive and distant—it’s aestheticized grief, desire, and transience all at once. Will’s not just seeing a boy having a smoke; he’s seeing a myth, wrapped in fog and melancholy.
Another little moment of symbolism I love is in Socialites Chapter 9—where Nico is smoking on the balcony, and Will almost stops himself from giving him the standard lecture about how smoking is bad. He catches himself—because they’re not that close yet, and it feels a bit presumptuous, and maybe Nico wouldn’t listen anyway. But then Nico surprises him. He tells him to do it anyway.
And Will does.
He launches into this long, borderline-unhinged rant about nicotine and carcinogens and lung damage and oral cancers. It’s deeply medical, extremely passionate, and just a little bit unhinged in the way that only someone who cares too much and doesn’t know how to say it properly can be. He’s not just worried about smoking—he’s worried about Nico. This is Will’s version of saying ‘please don’t die, I don’t think I could take it’ but filtered through science and breathless concern and a mouth that won’t stop moving once it starts.
It’s also a subtle turning point in their dynamic, because this is one of the first times Nico gets to see Will’s intelligence up close—and not in a classroom setting, but in a personal one. There’s something so uniquely intimate about being known and cared for in someone else’s language, and this is Will’s: science, knowledge, practical application of care.
This moment parallels Codex Solace, especially in Chapter 1, where Nico starts to notice how sharp Will is. Not just emotionally kind, but brilliant in this grounded, competent way. In Codex, Nico begins watching Will help others, offer advice, explain things clearly and patiently. And Nico is so clearly drawn to that. To the way Will makes difficult things seem navigable. To the way he brings order to chaos—not by controlling it, but by understanding it.
Also worth noting that in Codex Solace, we start to get a lot more insight into Nico’s sexual attraction to Will—and a surprising amount of it revolves around Will’s intelligence. A lot of the inconvenient dreams he keeps having are about kissing or touching yes, but also while Will is going on intense, passionate tangents about medical stuff. Which is hilarious and extremely on-brand, but also kind of revealing: Nico’s not just attracted to Will’s body—he’s overwhelmed by the way he thinks. The precision, the intensity, the unapologetic focus.
It’s the same thread we see on the balcony in Chapter 9 of Socialites—Will spiraling through a health rant, Nico absolutely transfixed. Smart is hot. Concern is hot. Caring in ways you don’t know how to verbalize? Devastating.
By the time we reach Chapter 40 of Socialites, that intellectual attraction has fully bloomed into something tender and overwhelming. Nico’s fascinated by Will’s brain and his heart—and that moment on the balcony was one of the earliest places we saw those two collide.
So yeah. Will’s anti-smoking rant is technically about lung damage—but really, it’s about love.

↻ᴹᵉˢˢᵃᵍᵉ ˡᵒᵃᵈᵉᵈ ꒰ seven daemons.txt now available ꒱
sadly, i couldn't get a recording of this to work… but i had forgotten with the definitive edition of gamedec, there was a dlc named 'seven daemons' where you play as ken zhou. i decided that, before starting my new playthrough of the main game (to go hunting for goodies and lore)… i wanted to try this out.
so i did! i've made notes as i played, and taken screenshots where i could. obligatory warning for spoilers below the cut, as i make a deep dive into what happens alongside my interpretations of the plot / ken's character.
immediately off the bat, i love that the game starts with ken playing a racing game (sky racing) and being so immersed in it that he curses when receiving a call that, tragically, costs him the victory. that said, i also love the dialog you can choose for the phone call:
꒰ hi, my name is shivani thana; i'm the [chief innovation officer] of the peh corporation. i'm calling because i'm in need of assistance. you're ken zhou, aren't you? the e-sport star turned gamedec?
[ask if she's a fan] yeah, you're a fan?
i don't really understand e-sport, and i wouldn't be calling if you were still a professional player. ꒱
ouch! poor ken. he takes it like a champ, though. and understandably so when you read his codex entry about himself:
anyway, the first game we appear in is seven: the days long gone… fitting given the dlc name. the codex describes it as a
꒰ postapocalyptic rpg mixing magic with technology. ꒱
and is a pre-information era game that even ken hadn't heard of despite his career(s). things are pretty standard until you find shivani's avatar almost lifeless. she's got no data, and a technician comes in to chastise you… until they recognize you.
i unfortunately didn't have the skill, but i'll include the option because it's funny to me:
꒰ ken zhou? the ken zhou? what are you doing here? [he gasped] are you having an affair with shivani?! i won't tell a soul!
[sleeves; say that it's a love affair] ꒱
but even if you don't say that option, the technician still makes a few playful nudges until ken replays the recording of his call with shivani. which is interesting as it stands because it could mean a few things:
gamedecs record their calls for legal reasons; harder to bury evidence and raise wrongful suits if there's proof of the communication
all calls made using certain devices are recorded for a variety of reasons; easier to make targeted/personalized algorithms through data collection, potential content moderation on the large scale… there's a lot of interesting corporate possibilities there that really could emphasize the cybernetic dystopia.
which also ties in to the whole idea of daemons in this universe.
they're a lot different than what i've seen them defined as.
in traditional computing, daemons are simply programs that run as background processes (and, as a fun fact, usually end with the letter d for classification; d for daemon).
in the cyberpunk 2077 universe, of which i'm also a massive nerd for, daemons are a unique type of quickhack that allows netrunners (or anybody with the right cyberdeck) to effectively upload malware onto other people's decks.
in gamedec's virtualium, daemons are ai assistants that mold themselves based on the data of their user. things like virtualium habits, personality, the usage of your seat and suit… they mold themselves to your tastes and needs to become the perfect virtual assistant; a new right hand, so to speak.
and this somber tone is reflected through ken's perception of the virtualium, particularly where shivani's office is concerned:
then again when we convince the technician to leave us alone as we investigate:
beyond that, the first major choice of the dlc is whether or not ken allows ryan, one of the peh corporation employees, to install one to him. seeing as the only experience we know so far is that having a daemon has created a backdoor of sorts to 'shut down' shivani, the obvious answer would be to refuse…
but for the lore, we allowed ryan to install the software, meaning that peh corporation now has full access to our helmet.
almost immediately, we see the consequence of this: a crossbow bolt strikes ryan mid-sentence and he starts bleeding and itching, stating that he has to log out and that these 'pranks' target the programmers who work on the daemons. we don't get much time to process it, though, as our daemon springs to life and begins walking us through the installation process which.. immediately provides us some funny characterization for ken.
i opted for winning, as ken seems very reminiscent of/nostalgic for his career as an esport champion. since i have scalpel now, i was able to see what the daemon did with our data; not much was learned beyond the fact it was able to observe what we were doing.
going around the environment gives us a few interesting convos, including one with a watcher named alex. they're trying to persuade peh corporation to publicize their ai-training data, as, quote:
꒰ corporations always try to evade releasing data, open data act or not. peh's argument here is that it's a trade secret. i don't care about trade secrets [em] i care about public interest. algorithms influence the very way we experience the world. ꒱
what i find nice is that you can sympathize with alex, with ken stating,
꒰ come on. they've surely considered the consequences. it's their software [em] they don't want a lawsuit. ꒱
… and then you're propositioned to allow alex insight on the daemons as peh corporation has attempted to stunt their investigation. of course, we agreed, and summon our daemon to learn how to subtly scan them and record the data.
one of the more interesting interactions is attempting to scan an ai by the name of artanak, because it doesn't work. he catches you, but he isn't really upset by that. in fact, he provides some relatively interesting insight on the development of ai in the gamedec universe:
꒰ last time we also coexisted; ais helping humans with their tasks. until it turned out that we were able of making independent decisions. sometimes our decisions influenced humans and obviously it ended with war and destruction. i'm surprised no one here remembers it, really. and other ais seem even more secretive than in my time. ꒱
in investigating the area, we find evidence pointing toward the person who'd shot ryan, and thus attempt entering the creative team's space. likewise, helping out others in the area reveals that some daemons have had glitches regarding company crediting, leading you to believe something is wrong in the coding department. unfortunately, either gate doesn't let us through and we'd have to earn an authorization token. the way you earn the token is honestly kind of fun; a group of employees playing "the josh"… aka just standing around telling bad jokes. you have to out-joke them in order to win your place.
some of my favorite ones that ken can tell include:
꒰ you know, i'll have to go to the bar after this… but you set it so low, i'll have to dig. ꒱
꒰ you're a dictator. with the emphasis on the dick. ꒱
winning the josh gets ken the title "silver-tongued punslayer" which is just. so funny to me. he seemed genuinely proud of his dad jokes! and i love that for him.
the coding area is technical and there's not a lot there either in terms of new development. fascinating convos about the migration of npcs in this game's rework into a virtualium, though! and as you snoop around, other employee daemons confront you and lead you to your secondary deduction of what is wrong with shivani's daemon. with what we saw re: the crossbow bolt and footprints, it feels clear the daemon itself is not the problem (as much as it would be in a practical sense; this level of ai augmentation seems highly unethical at best and outright dangerous at worst) but that someone meddled with it.
of course, ken puts it more succinctly:
so we head to the creative division and i am. immediately stricken with love because there is a person with a funky robot mask and modulated voice. shoutout to dungeongeek for being that guy(tm).
anyway, the investigation continues and you find the armor of the would-be assassin, along with a note, and more footprints. as an aside, here's another funny bit of dialog:
then i'll be so for real… i spaced out a little, got up to do something, forgot i was playing, then came back very confused. but that's not the game's fault, that's just my brain being my brain!
investigating the creative division involved a fun side-plot about rewritting a questline for the game's revamp, and then you meet the alleged attacker. they talk a lot about their distrust toward shivani and the daemon program as a whole, and how there will be no apologies for the attack against ryan. you also end up getting an interesting code that cracks through the daemon software, and find yourself back in shivani's office…
and into an argument between ryan and a peh corp representative who seems all too eager to remove ken from the premises. after persuading them to let us intervene, we connect to shivani and find an amusing little like… minesweeper meets frogger type bridge puzzle. beyond that is shivani's avatar and a data node. you find out she'd been personally modifying things and creating, effectively, a carbon copy of herself against the company's safety protocols.
and that's effectively it! in my case, ken… saved the daemonn and ended up killing the original shivani, as her conscience had been so far gone it was impossible to discern the two.
i would assume there are more peh corporation sympathetic endings, given there is an npc that allows you to betray alex/interrupt their investigation, as well as the fact there was a pretty extensive branch of deductions to make for what seems like a straightforward case.
the premise was really interesting, and i like how this does play into ken's characterization throughout the main plot of gamedec. he's very headstrong and very focused on doing the right thing within his role, even if he takes a more laissez-faire approach to the conversational side of it. to have witnessed how one corporation could so easily take advantage of people, only to find out that it's potentially happening again, though on a much larger scale...
it really adds weight to his interactions with the player and to his death.

BIO
Not a lot is known about Joseph Yearwood. He must've been born once upon a time, clearly - but it's difficult to say how long ago that's been. He's not the sharing kind-of-guy, but it's safe to say that he grew up in a small pack of void foxes. His parents both were, his grandparents were and everybody in their lineage had been. It was an honor and a blessing to be born as one as well.
The Kukan differ from the other foxes in the world, they do remember their humble beginnings as the Inari messengers who swore to protect the humans and some somewhere out there might still chase the old codex, but the Kukan don't.
Made from a different kind of fox, they're natural hunters and illusionists. They live to wreak havoc, they hunt humans because it is their right to do so. Because humankind is weak and should pay their kind the owed respect. Instead, foxes of all kinds have been hunted for their pelts for centuries. When respect isn't shown from them, why should the Kukan?
They are not backed by the other kitsune, at least not officially - some .. feel and sympathize, surely. Regardless of that, the Kukan have existed for a long, long time. They embrace the power of the fox. While the ordinary fox will shapeshift and take human form to mingle and fall in love, the Kukan ... don't. They shift, they take human form - they are excellent Shapeshifters, too. They don't struggle hiding their tails, although dogs are still their sworn enemies and the only thing that can mess with their illusions. But the Kukan don't strive to find love in humans, no.
They wreak havoc.
Possess someone of power, abuse it, see the world crumble. No better feeling than that, is there? Possess someone who deserves only the worst, make their life literal hell. Foxes are said to be mischievous and their tricks are only played on those who are deserving. Well, every human deserves to suffer and it's upon Joseph and his siblings to fulfill their destinies.
It's not known how long Joseph has been traveling the world to do just that, but it is safe to say that ... there have been countless of casualties to pave his way. He doesn't regret a thing. Humans are only good for one thing: To worship his kind. There is a reason the humans built shrines featuring the kitsune all across their lands, right? Exactly.
Foxes... earn their tails in different ways. It depends on their kind. Joseph earned his in the only way that's true to his ancestors and clearly they looked down upon him and granted him one after another. The fur of a Kitsune's tail withstands the tides, so he's hiding his most precious treasure in a bag woven of fur from his very own tail, so that it may never tear and nobody other than himself may ever get his hands on what's inside.
Joseph learnt to use what he has to get what he wants. He's got a way with words, he's got that special kind of pretty the old legends say foxes have that is just irresistible to the humans and some Supernaturals alike. He doesn't need to take what he wants, because he's used to manipulating others into fetching it for him. He's sweet, he's charming, he's observant as all hell. Joseph is a menace through and through.
And he never quite learnt there's boundaries, so he traveled the world to spread his chaos wherever he could for ... who knows how long.
After .. a long, long time of solitude, Joseph craved pack, but from what he heard.. the Kukan ceased to exist over the past few decades. There may only be him left now. Just him. A whole pack erased, just like that. Although ... he knew for a fact he had heirs running amuck - somewhere out there. With time, he'd feel them, he'd find them. It was now a game of patience. When they were old enough to come find him, he'd be ready to teach them all they had to know. The town .. confused him, his kind living together with other Supernaturals was one thing, but alongside the humans? Those who hunted them? Those who destroyed the planet? Those who brought nothing but pain and misery to those they didn't count as one of their own? No. No fox should suffer under his watch ever again. He'd never stop hunting them down. And his offspring would grow up to help him.
He would not be the last one standing.

castle 7x3 clear and present danger
the invisibility episode liveblog
WILLIAM FAIRWICK is a name I rexognize, probably from this show but I feel like it was damien westlake.
Anarchist playin pool, my man looks like he's having fun.
*reading over their tablets* how does she read with the text so small? how do you focus on the words when there are so many pf them? those two totally need to get it on. I'm so proud of them. "WHAT?? : ( :( : ( "
RC: You promise? KB: Yes, we’ll pick up where we left off. I’ll even slip into that Valentine’s Day gift you got me. RC: You mean the one with – KB: Mmhmm. RC: With the – KB: Yep. She moves into the apartment. RC takes a second to compose himself, sighing heavily and leaning on the UNIFORM guarding the door.
Skulls & pool cue thru his chest, love this look, so cool. 25 & owns all this?
JE: Other than his taste in anarchy tattoos and satanic design, not much yet.
KEVIN RYAN rushes into the room pulling on his own set of gloves. KR: Sorry. Subway took forever. JE leans closer. JE: Bro. You’re supposed to be on call. Why do you smell like a wino? KR: Oh, I was at dinner with Jenny and – and someone spilled a drink on me as I rushed out. JE gives him a weird look. He’s not buying the story. KR rushes away.
Not clipping but dang that's a thing. (also ryan isn't allowed to drink at dinner with his gal but beckett,, well ig she didn't get to have sex with her husband to be...
that is A Lot of money!

Shepherd: But uh … what people say and do doesn’t always make sense. Me: actions & words. Reminds me of that codex alera quote. Ooh anarchist with skull imagery "made a deal with the devil" for his talent Nice!
Shep: I once asked him how he got to be so good. He told me he "went down to the crossroads and made a deal with the devil" for his talent. I figure, that’s gotta be a joke, right? But the other night, well, he looked nervous. I mean, downright scared. So I asked him, I said, what’s going on? You know what he told me? RC: (enthralled) No, but I want to know. Shep:He said it wasn’t a joke. He said his time was up. That he was about to lose his soul. (laughs) Like I said though, stupid, right? Becklett oesn't care but castle is in love.

KB: Really? That’s how the devil is going to kill someone? Using a broken pool stick? RC: Well, perhaps the prince of darkness is trying to make a point. You live by the cue you die by the cue. I noticed with castle too, there could not have been wind, except for pressure differences within the place itself.
These two are flirtin by talking abt the case KB: Don’t answer that. (she hesitates) Don’t. Don’t even. Don’t look at it. Don’t answer it. Don’t pick it up. *curses* "lanie!"
I can see it! wait! Spoiler brackets! {he put glass on the floor so the invisikiller would walk through the glass & make footprints!}
RC: Swinging a pool cue blindly to defend himself? I’m telling you, it makes perfect sense. What would you do if you were attacked by an invisible demonic force? KB: I’d tell Ryan to lay off the bean burritos at lunch. *ryan walks up behind them* (not clipping but OH COULD I)

KR: I could really use your help. JE: backs away. KR: follows him. JE: Get that away from me. KR: What? Blue’s my color. What’s wrong with you? JE: Hey, enough! KR: Just help me try it on. I was about to make a Macgyver Season 4 review video for my Youtube [ Channel Name - Carter if you wanna follow me] and as I was scripting I realized that most of what I was talking about was negative. So I figured why do a 10-15 min video, which takes anywhere from 5-7 hours to make from scripting to uploading, if I’m just going to complain.
I lost heart in it. There is already too much negativity around us, no need to add more by complaining.
So now I’m going to be making a Code 8 Review. I just finished watching it and I loved the movie.
Catch you later . . . .

I like that Games Workshop is dredging up "Von Ryan's Leapers" from some random chart in a Tyranid codex from, like, 3rd edition.

New BioWare Blog post.
🔊 BIOWARE COMMUNITY UPDATE: WRITING OUR WORLDS
by BioWare on September 29 2022

"Hello, everyone! And welcome back to another BioWare™ Community Update. It’s been a little while since we last spoke, but our work continues—as does the storytelling.
So far, years of effort have gone into our next game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf™, with hundreds of people working to bring this shared vision to life. We’ve been quietly building it behind the scenes for a while now, so we wanted to give you a look at some stuff we’ve been working on! But let’s start with a little recap for those who might be new around here.
Dragon Age is a series that puts you in the heart of a magical world, but what happens while you’re there—who lives and dies, who rises and falls, who loves and loses—that’s up to you. There are no right choices… only those you make.
At the heart of every one of our games are our stories and characters. Each tale is told by the people who live in them—companions who fight at your side and foes who challenge your every move. This is core to the experiences we craft and is what we believe makes a “BioWare RPG” what it is.
Each character has their own motivations and goals that influence how the story plays out, but so do you. The Hero of Ferelden. The Champion of Kirkwall. The Herald of Andraste. Each of them marked their legacy in the annals of history, but time marches forward and the age of these heroes cannot last forever. As a friend of ours once said, “it’s time for a new hero.”
Making a game that carries forth the stories that came before it while still being a starting point for someone brand-new can be tough—deep lore can seem daunting to new players—but it’s also an exciting challenge! The development process is iterative and dynamic. Ideas get concepted, tested, thrown out, brought back, and changed constantly during early stages, all in the pursuit of getting things just right. And it’s very collaborative, too! Everyone helps each other to build something we hope will excite you.
So, let’s talk about that.
As we said, storytelling is at the core of what we do. Our writers helm the creation of your narrative experiences and work as part of a talented team with editors, producers, and quality verifiers to build out the story, characters, dialogue, and more. And that’s not even getting into the other teams who work so closely with them to bring these tales to life!
But what does working on the writing and editing teams entail? And how are we going about writing for Dreadwolf? It’s not like writing a book where everyone has the same experience on the page. Each player interacts with the team’s work differently based on the choices they make, how much of the game they interact with, and the kind of character they want to play. Here’s how our team is thinking about that, but first…
Please enjoy this sneak peek at writing for Dreadwolf, directly from the game’s codex!
(Codex assets are not representative of in-game format.)

Written by Sylvia Feketekuty; edited by Cameron Harris
Hey! Care to do us the honor of introducing yourselves and telling our community a little bit about what you do?
Ryan Cormier: Hello! I’m one of three narrative editors on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Our job is to ensure BioWare’s stories are told with clarity, consistency, and accuracy. That might mean correcting comma splices in a codex entry, deciding if a hero’s dramatic speech carries on one line too long, reviewing plot points, or helping a writer choose which scene to tweak without impacting the overall arc. Somewhere in between, we’re spell-checking some ridiculously long elven word or standardizing a character’s voice.
Sylvia Feketekuty: Hi, I’m a senior writer on Dreadwolf. I wrote of one of the codex entries here, “Misconceptions about the Necropolis” (as well as the character who “penned” the entry). These codices are just a tiny snippet of the game, but we wanted to share them as a springboard for talking about our writing and editing process.
Sometimes, when I tell people I write for games, they politely try to figure out how to ask, "But writing dialogue doesn’t take up your entire day every day, does it?" Truthfully, no. I'm responsible for coming up with plots, characters, and dialogue, but also for designing missions with our level designers. I work with them on pacing, information flow, and addressing many, many revisions as feedback comes in.
We're also responsible for a lot of non-voiced text: codex entries, notes in the world, item descriptions, weapon names, etc. A huge part of my job is just explaining the narrative needs of my characters and missions to other departments and coordinating it all with them.
It sounds like you two do more than the average person might expect an editor or writer to do. How do you two work together, then?
Sylvia: Way early on during the concepting stages, the editing team gives their feedback with the rest of the narrative team on high-level stuff like the new characters, plot, and themes. Once first-draft writing for a character or major mission is complete, we also have editors give us their formal feedback during our big peer reviews.
Ryan: At this stage, as we near preproduction, editors talk with writers about big-picture topics like characters, lore, and themes. These elements need the most time. Editing starts broadly and becomes detailed later in the process because it doesn’t help a writer to hear, “This is a run-on sentence,” when we’re still five drafts away from final. We save line edits for last. Until then, editors try to hold their tongues on grammar and punctuation.
Sylvia: After the peer review, when revisions are done and we’re in a position to start recording voiced dialogue, I work more closely with the editing team. Editors will suggest better ways to make one sentence flow into the next, spot inconsistencies, and point out when I’ve written something nonsensical. Every editor also “owns” certain character voices, just like writers do, and I’ll often go to them to hash out something for a particular character or to get a second opinion.
Ryan: Here, in the final drafts, no edit is too picky. This is where editors tweak the writing with changes to grammar, punctuation, and flow and where the passive voice dies a swift death. We read lines aloud at our desks while examining lore, tone, voice, and other details that change how a line reads in the recording booth or appears in the subtitles. Voice-recording notes and plot summaries are finalized, too. All this fine-tuning involves close work between a writer and editor while we pass edits back and forth, fix this, change that, change it back, debate, agree, and finally send it off for recording and translation.
So from the very beginning to the very end, our editors and writers are in lockstep with each other. What about the rest of the devs and other teams?
Ryan: Editors are the bridge between the writers and out-of-studio partners like actors and localizers. Once final drafts are complete, our game dialogue is sent to our in-house performance team, voice actors, and translators, all working in numerous languages. Editors work with those teams daily and are the troubleshooters when technical or cultural concerns arise. Sometimes, an English joke just doesn’t land in the localized copy, or maybe we learn that a name we chose for an idyllic village in Thedas has an inappropriate meaning in another language.
Sylvia: One of the best Dragon Age: Inquisition™ translator questions I ever saw was from a German translator who wanted to know what one character meant when he talked about “dancers with tassels.”
I mentioned this above, but most of my cross-team work is keeping up communication. Does the audio team have all the context they need? Does Character Art know a plot point requires an alternate character outfit? People often compare narrative games to movies, but a lot of them are nothing like movies, structurally speaking. RPGs the size of ours are more like a full season of a bizarrely nonlinear television series with so many mutable, moving parts.
That definitely paints quite the picture. You mentioned your work on DA:I just then, too. What about on Dreadwolf? What’s it like writing for the next game?
Sylvia: It’s been eight years since our last DA game came out. I’ve seen a lot of adults fondly reminiscing about how they played it as teens! Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been a balance of providing answers to long-standing questions for veteran fans while making a game that new players, or someone who only played DA:I years ago, can also get into.
Ryan: Unlike the vast galaxies we explore in our other franchises, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf returns us to Thedas, where we can revisit friends and places that are familiar. Some fans haven’t spent time with Dragon Age since the 2014 release of Inquisition, while others have read every comic and story published since. Others never played a Dragon Age game at all and have no idea who the bald guy is (he’s Solas).
It’s a varied audience, and development for Dreadwolf has included conversations about how the team can simultaneously reward our returning fans and welcome new ones.
Sylvia: There are other things, of course, but we can’t really get into that until the game comes out.
Well, we’ll see what the future holds, then. If you were speaking to a fan, new or old, what would you tell them makes a Dragon Age game unique?
Sylvia: To me, BioWare has always carried the old-school D&D legacy in its veins. I try to inject some of what I love about tabletop roleplaying into my work: bizarre encounters, prideful villains, adventurers thrust together, arcs with big stakes that retain a sense of playfulness or adventure. It’s everything I’ve liked in the best fantasy tabletop games I’ve played in.
Ryan: For me, it's the characters. A Dragon Age story is full of heroes you want to visit a Kirkwall tavern with, or at a stylish Antivan party; travelling with friends whose witty banter makes the time fly by. The greatest compliment fans give our characters is the years of art, cosplay, and fan fiction that Dragon Age has inspired. That’s a sincere connection between our audience and our creations. And a villain who makes people want to spit on the ground at the mention of their name? Even better.
Though we can’t yet show our community our characters acting in-game, dialogue isn’t our only option. What about these codex entries? Is that something you could talk about?
Ryan: Yes! Codex entries are valuable because they provide information that might otherwise disrupt the flow of the game. For example, players might want details about the Grand Necropolis in Nevarra, but characters shouldn’t sound like tour guides. Before any writing, the narrative team discusses which entries are required and which aren’t. It’s crucial to properly time codex unlocks with player progression. No one wants a dozen entries only ten minutes into the game, but interested players shouldn’t have to wait long to learn more about the people, places, and concepts introduced. Does a codex unlock when something’s first mentioned? When a related character appears? Is the entry only required if they actually interact with said thing?
Sylvia: Making all our codex entries “in-world” (letters, books, notes, etc.) gives us ways to play with information. I chose the “Misconceptions about the Necropolis” codex to show everyone because it was really fun to write. I wanted the in-game author to be frustrated with Brother Genitivi’s portrayal of the Necropolis while also trying to deny the depth of his irritation with said world-famous scholar. It’s a diary, yet we see the author still feels obligated to exercise a measure of decorum in his private writing. And the micro-revelation at the end is that it’s someone he knows in real life, not far-off Genitivi, who is needling the poor guy about Nevarra’s death rituals.
It’s fun to layer things like this, and players are savvy about those layers. They pick up (and I think appreciate) the character coming through. It’s also a collaborative creative process. My Necropolis codex entry, like many others, was edited by Cameron Harris, another of our editors. In this case, Cameron caught that I had set file information incorrectly and also adjusted the overall stylization for consistency
Here are a couple more codex entries for you. Let us know what you think of them!

We hope you enjoyed this first discussion about how our writing and editing teams are thinking about Dreadwolf! Every step of the way, we’re working together as a team, even in ways you might not imagine. From integrating written materials into the engine itself to our devs doing placeholder dialogue for characters, it’s a process that evolves over time.
But your efforts never stop, either! Naturally, when Solas shows up, so do many of you, and with incredible creations, no less. So in honor of the Dread Wolf himself, we wanted to showcase some amazing pieces we’ve seen. [please see source link for these] Oh, and we absolutely could not leave out Handsome Solas.
Every day, the game gets one step closer to our next big development milestone—and one step closer to where it’s going to be when you play it. But these changes don’t just happen. They’re being worked on by the teams of people shaping this next adventure for you—carrying the vision together on our road to launch.
We want to keep showing you what we’re up to, so let us know if you like what you’re seeing! We have some fun stuff planned, so be sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming BCUs, one of which will include a look at what our designers are working on!
Until next then, may the Dread Wolf take you.

Marvel Studios: Voices Rising - The Music Of Wakanda Forever [Series]

Episode #2: “Mexico: Con La Brisa” [available on Disney +] [w/ time stamps to follow along]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
▻ During the early stages, Ryan and Ludwig talked about how they can make this music [relating to Talokan] as authentic as possible. This brought them to Mexico City. Ludwig met with Camilo, the coordinator in Mexico City who helped put together musical sessions with artists. “I think the biggest challenge was for us to find musicians of our time who understood a little about what was happening in the Mayan Peninsula in the past. And there are very few specialists.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [2:43]

▻ We are introduced to Alejandro Méndez [from Grupo Tribu] who is “one of the greatest connoisseurs.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [3:07] “Tribu is a group that emerged around the seventies. We initially started out doing rock. A type of fusion between rock and traditional Mexican instruments. A colleague and I from the group got a degree in archaeology and now we have the opportunity to access the excavations. There is a great legacy of information that is hidden or buried. That seems to us worthy of having these instruments also recovered, put back into circulation, because they are means of human expression.” - Alejandro Méndez [Musician] [3:20]
▻ Various Mayan instruments are played with such as, but not limited to: turtle shells, Teponaztli drum, seashells, “Flute of truth”, “Death whistle” and more. “People don’t know what the music sounded like. People don’t know exactly how the instruments were played. But we want to be as close as we could because we know what the instruments were [in the Codex].” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [4:08] Alejandro and various experts spent time with Ludwig experimenting with the sound of Mayan instruments and recording sound bites. These sounds eventually layed the foundation for the final score and parts of the soundtrack.
▻ “The seashell. I already knew we were going to use it because it was in the script. It is a big part of Namor’s character.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [6:11] “Seashells being played like you would play French horns. And hearing a guy breathe through a seashell, sticking his hand in it. It’s like brash and bombastic, and confident and weird. It does something new to you. It’s also romantic. He [Alejandro] kind of played Namor’s sadness. It eventually evolved to playing his grandeur and the power of all of that with the sadness. The idea of things that hurt you or do damage to you, you can decide to let those be the things that make you strong.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [6:29]
▻ The “Death whistle” has an arresting and unique sound to it. “This is how it has been named by accident, although it is not really a whistle that is dedicated to death. The wind blow of the wind is what generates life with an ancient Mexican mythology.” - Alejandro Méndez [Musician] [8:40] Ludwig loved the sound and wanted that to symbolize Namor’s power. We see that this instrument is used in the scene where Namor punches M’baku and shatters his breastplate, propelling him backwards [9:17]

▻ “For me, this character [Namor] is demanding. We are reclaiming our origin. We’re talking about old grandparents, our old grandparents. And reconciling ourselves with that part. Doing this thing called techno futurism. Based on who we are, on our ancestors, on our grandparents. I think it’s a very important step because the stories you hear and literature and movies, and everything else taught us to be ashamed of who we are. And it’s time to stop feeling like this. The universe they built to sustain the story is very profound. It’s not just going to make it sound nice, but also give it meaning.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [10:29]
▻ “Since Mayan is the native tongue in the movie, it’s just right that we also get Mayan speaking artists as part of the soundtrack.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [11:32] We are introduced to hip hop artist “Pat Boy”. “All roads led us to a legend of hip-hop in Mayan named Pat boy. Pat has been essential for hip-hop in that area to grow, and above all, that it is sung in Mayan and with pride. He has a collective called Mayan DNA.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [11:44] Their hip-hop track “Laayli' kuxa'ano'one” is an exploration of traditional and modern sounds.
▻ Ludwig catches up with actor Tenoch Huerta in his stomping grounds, and goes over recorded tracks with him in a studio. “Where did the Mayans go? Did they get on a UFO? No, they’re here. Where did the Aztecs go? Nowhere, we’re still in Mexico City. We need to start giving them a name and give them a face, and begin to give them a human sense. And stop putting them in museums so that they can be in popular imaginations, in current imaginations. So that they can be in fiction, on the screen, in books, in music, everywhere. And no longer be immovable statues you can’t talk about. No way. Because it’s us. Because we’re alive. And we didn’t go anywhere.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [14:33]

▻ It took Ludwig and Camilo some time to tailor down the list of artists they felt were the future of Mexican music, who felt fresh and with an edge. Morning recording sessions were spent with traditional artists [ie. musicians, instrumentalists] and night sessions with contemporary artists [ie. singers, rappers, etc] “I didn’t dedicate myself to music as a child, nor did my family. At the age of 18, I found out that there is a career in music production in Monterrey. A classmate heard me sing and told me ‘you sing really nice, let’s make some music’ and that’s how I started.” - Foudeqush [Artist] [16:47] Ludwig sat down with Foudeqush and discussed writing a song that is based off of the Sun [thinking about when Namor shows Shuri the world of Talokan]. Ludwig played with sounds as she wrote melodies and prompted her to “Write as if you’re trying to describe the Sun to someone who has never seen the Sun.” - Foudeqush [Artist] [17:18] The track “Con La Brisa” was born. We learn that this track was written and recorded before either one of them was able to watch the official Talokan tour scene, which made this creation even more special.
▻ “With the first film, although there’s some brilliant women, that film was very much from a male perspective. And this film shifted that when Chadwick passed away. We made the decision that it’ll be Shuri’s story. And after that, it became clear that this was going to be a movie about mom’s flat out, through and through. And that was exhilarating for me. It represented a new opportunity to reflect on a very profound human relationship that frankly, there’s not enough movies about.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [19:25]
▻ Ludwig met with artists Vivir Quintana and Mare Advertencia Lirika. Vivir’s song “Canción Sin Miedo” became an anthem for the feminist movement in Mexico and after listening, Ludwig was immediately struck by “her vocals and her voice and the confidence she had in her voice.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [20:27] “It’s [the musical scene] still plagued by violence in Mexico. One of the things that saddens me is that despite us women succeeding in music, we have to make protest music. I think that there’s a lot of visibility lacking towards music made by women in Mexico.” - Vivir Quintana [Musician] [20:49] Ludwig had both Vivir and Mare sing and rap over a track, experimenting with the emphasis on their voices. “I am used to having to scream at the world in order to be heard. And this song implies that challenge. If we’ve always been yelling, how do we also negotiate with our voice now? I don’t need to yell. I don’t need to speak in a loud voice to consider my words valuable.” - Mare Advertencia Lirika [Artist] [22:48] The collaborative track “Árboles Bajo El Mar” sparked ideas of transformation and was eventually used during the scene of Namor’s birth.

▻ We learn that Tenoch Huerta’s father practically forced him into acting workshops when he was younger. He enjoyed it a lot but having no representation in Mexico of actors with darker complexions, he didn’t have high hopes of becoming an actor. He wondered why his father pushed him in this direction and “My dad said ‘I saw something in you.’ And that’s it. I don’t know what he saw or didn’t see. But he saw me. And that’s what was important. Imagine everything I owe to him. When I was a child, I never saw myself on screen. And that’s what I hope for. That boys, and girls, children, don’t feel so alone. That they know that there was never anything wrong with them. What was wrong was the eyes that were seeing them. I want them to be able to dream. I want this character to make them dream. If I can do that, I wouldn’t ask anything more from life.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [28:29]

THANK YOU SO MUCH for that very informative post about Namor's biracial native roots. After reading more and more I can only say Ryan Coogler is a damn GENIUS. Casting someone as talented as Tenoch, having a mesoamerican background instead of Atlantis, AND using colonialism (if the leaks/spoilers are true) as a parallel to the white men that invaded Atlantis and killed Atlanteans in Namor's earlier comics is such a smart move. I realized that both versions, as far as we know, mirror each other in that aspect. AND it truly sets Namor apart from DCEU's Aquaman, which is interesting since Momoa is not even a white guy either (but there wasn't backlash with him, was there? I don't remember). Man, they truly made such a rich culture with Talokan that I can't even believe the assholes saying they ruined Namor when in fact this adaptation couldn't be more perfect. As a Latin American, and as a new fan of comics!Namor and MCU!Namor, I love and support this.
You're welcome! I'm glad my meta was helpful. I agree, the direction Coogler has gone with is an amazing idea and I'm very excited to see the movie! I'm very glad Coogler is handling Namor because you can't have Namor without his roots, and a lot of that is very political, dealing with outsiders/invasion/the devastation of their homeland and people. Which is why all these people online crying #namormynamor are very annoying because Namor isn't some white guy in a speedo swimming around talking to fish. I really dislike when people erase the fact that Namor has always been a white passing biracial coded character, but I also understand no one does extensive reading into older comics and it's not mentioned throughout later comics so the only time it really annoys me is when people try to argue against it with the limited knowledge they have.
Iirc there were some people going "that's not aquaman!" but it's the same kinda people who argue against Namor now, but for the most part I never saw extreme dislike of Aquamomoa because, let's just be honest, Aquaman was always considered a "lame" character. He was the butt of so many jokes over the decades, so when they made him BADASS suddenly people were more on board with this. The weirdest thing is they literally changed Aquaman to be more like Namor. (I talk more about Aquaman and Namor here)
Aside from the fact Aquaman is DC's copycat of Namor and they took alot of stuff from Namor over the years, then they went and took even more for the movie version, giving him bullet proof skin (like Namor), the whole biracial aspect of Namor being non white, even the imagery is really close to his Savage Sub-Mariner run. Yet people were totally fine with a white character being played by a non white actor because it "made him better and cooler" but they want to hate Namor for being non-white and woke because Namor is dealing with not so pleasant issues when that's his literal origin.
I honestly don't care what other fans think, just a few months ago those people weren't even talking about Namor so alot of this is just people jumping on the hate bandwagon, and while I have my criticism of the mcu as a whole, I also think alot of these people are just hating to hate, they don't care about the character, they are just upset it's not being catered to their white male power fantasy self insert fanon. There is alot of bad fanon that surrounds Namor's character but the actual character is so layered and interesting and complex.
I'm so excited to learn about Talokan, and the inspiration from Mesoamerica it takes, I'm working on a master post for all this information so far but I have to mention that I love that the cast came up with a hand symbol that has meaning with their culture

The ¡Líik’ik Talokan! hand gesture is based on ones seen in many Mesoamerican codices. Here's my comparison between a detail from the Codex Nuttall and #Namor Thanks
I couldn't insert the video here but check out the cast talking about it! Talokan Rises! (¡Líik’ik Talokan! means Talokan Rises!)

Also another detail; The conch shell Namor carries! Here & Here!
I just so happy about everything they have done with Namor and his world and I'm excited that now we have two versions but ultimately I feel the same core of the character/his story is intact.
MCU!Namor & Comic!Namor are perfectly wonderful!

Having seen the whole box set i literally just want the chunky apothecary, the tyranid armor lieutenant, and a set of Von Ryan Leapers. If all of those go up for individual sale when the Tyranid and Marine codexes do i’ll be happy.

Nowości, plotki i zapowiedzi w formie krótkich wpisów. Zapraszam.

Numer trafi do sprzedaży 18.09.2019. Jak poprzednio będziecie mogli wybierać spośród kilku wariantów, w tym oczywiście ratio wersji CODEX oraz Cult of Carnage.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #3 ACTION FIGURE VARIANT COVER BY JOHN TYLER CHRISTOPHER
Do dnia premiery nie poznamy grafiki, która ozdobi ten numer. Aktualnie Marvel pokazał czarną okładkę z napisem Classified.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #3 VARIANT COVER BY RON LIM

Jest to open variant w cenie 4,99$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #3 YOUNG GUNS VARIANT COVER BY PEPE LARRAZ
Tutaj również okładka została utajniona.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #3 CONNECTING VARIANT COVER BY KYLE HOTZ

Jest to open variant w cenie 4,99$, który jest oczywiście homage wariantem do pracy Lee z X-Men #1.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #3 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY GREG LAND

Świeża zapowiedź z dnia dzisiejszego. Na wariancie CODEX zagościł Red Goblin. Cena w przedsprzedaży to około 25$-35$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #1 1:25 CULT OF CARNAGE VARIANT COVER BY JUAN GEDEON

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SCREAM #2
Premiera zeszytu będzie miała miejsce 04.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SCREAM #2 CONNECTING VARIANT COVER BY MARK BAGLEY

Jest to open variant w cenie 4,99$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SCREAM #1 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY DECLAN SHALVEY

Mania w wykonaniu Shalvey’a kosztuje w pre-orderach nawet 60$. Cena jest aktualnie mocno zawyżona i to wszystko za sprawą tego, że pierwszy zeszyt jest debiutem nowej Scream.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE SPIDER-MAN #1
Premiera zeszytu będzie miała miejsce 04.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE SPIDER-MAN #1 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY GREG LAND

Aktualnie cena oscyluje w okolicach ratio, czyli 25$. Są też oferty po 39$, ale nie wierzę, że znajdą się kupcy takich ofert.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE SPIDER-MAN #1 1:50 VARIANT COVER BY MIKE HAWTHORNE

Wariant 1:50 oferowany jest w cenie od 26$ do nawet 70$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE SPIDER-MAN #1 1:100 VIRGIN VARIANT COVER BY MIKE HAWTHORNE

VENOM #18
Zeszyt trafi do sprzedaży 11.09.2019.

VENOM #18 IMMORTAL VARIANT COVER BY WILL SLINEY

Okładka z serii Immortal będzie kosztowała 3,99$.
VENOM #18 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY PATRICK ZIRCHER

Jedna z ciekawszych okładek do tie-inów AC. Zircher powraca z grafiką przedstawiająca Hybrid, czyli postać, która powstała z połączanie Riot, Phage, Lasher i Agony. Symbiont ten zadebiutował w Venom: Along Came a Spider #1 (1996). Cena okładki w przedsprzedaży jest wysoka, bo, mimo ratio, wynosi prawie 50$.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE OF VENGEANCE #1
Ghost Riderowy tie-in trafi do sprzedaży 11.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE OF VENGEANCE #1 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY JAMES STOKOE

Cena warianty Stokoe zawiera się w przedziale 25$-45$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE OF VENGEANCE #1 1:50 VARIANT COVER BY AARON KUDER

Cena okładki to około 40$. Są też oferty, które dochodzą do 70$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE SYMBIOTE OF VENGEANCE #1 1:100 VIRGIN VARIANT COVER BY AARON KUDER

Tak jak w przypadku Symbiote Spider-Man mamy do czynienia z cenami na poziomie 150$-200$.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE VS DEADPOOL #2
Zeszyt trafi do sklepów 11.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE VS DEADPOOL #2 CONNECTING VARIANT COVER BY ROB LIEFELD

Wariant mistrz to wersja open w cenie 3,99$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE VS DEADPOOL #2 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY MARK BAGLEY

Sklepy oferują wariant Bagley’a w cenie od 15$ do 45$.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE LETHAL PROTECTORS #2
Premiera zeszytu zaplanowana jest na 18.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE LETHAL PROTECTORS #2 VARIANT COVER BY GREG SMALLWOOD

Jest to open variant w cenie 3,99$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE LETHAL PROTECTORS #2 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY MICO SAUYAN

Na razie nie poznaliśmy grafiki. Cena na eBay wynosi od 25$ do 30$.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE MILES MORALES #2
Zeszyt trafi do sprzedaży 25.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE MILES MORALES #2 CONNECTING VARIANT COVER BY DAVID NAKAYAMA

Jest to open variant w cenie 3,99$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE MILES MORALES #2 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY LEINIL FRANCIS YU

Cena w pre-orderach wynosi od 40$ do 50$.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE AVENGERS #1
Premiera 25.09.2019.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE AVENGERS #1 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY GERARDO SANDOVAL

Aktualnie cena wynosi od 25$ do 45$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE AVENGERS #1 1:50 VARIANT COVER BY JUNG-GEUN YOON

Cena w przedsprzedaży wynosi od 50$ do 90$.
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE AVENGERS #1 1:100 VIRGIN VARIANT COVER BY CLAYTON CRAIN

Jak w przypadku innych virgin wariantów z dużym ratio, mamy do czynienia z cenami na poziomie 150$-200$.

Na koniec THE AMZING SPIDER-MAN #30.
Zeszyt trafi na półki sklepowe 25.09.2019.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #30 1:25 CODEX VARIANT COVER BY GIUSEPPE CAMUNCOLI

Cena wariantu zawiera się w przedziale 25$-49$.

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE #1 4TH PRINTING NEW ART VARIANT COVER BY MARK BAGLEY

Trzeci dodruk z nową grafiką trafi do sklepów 25.09.2019.

No i dotarliśmy do końca. To wszystkie komiksy związane z AC, które trafią we wrześniu do sprzedaży.

Hello there! It's nice to see some RI activity here in this fandom! It's odd for a game with so many attractive characters to not have that many RIs, like it's spiritual companion Blood of Zeus. I guess that's a testament to its many juicy and compelling character interactions and story. Still, thank you for providing use reader-inserters with some nourishment. Enough rambling, what do you thing zag's favorite pieces of modern tech are?
This actually stumped me for a bit, and I really had to think. Thank you for giving me such a brainteaser, Anon! I’m just sorry it’s taken so long to get to you ; n; Thank you for being patient with me!♡ Blood of Zeus is also really good, if you haven’t watched it, go to Netflix (if you have) and give it a watch! -- Ryan
✧ Keurigs, espresso bars, and coffee pots. This man would appreciate a really good cup of coffee, and the convenience of having one that does the whole process for you not only saves him time but makes him time.
✧ Thinking of this as current canon, not as a modern AU; if Zagreus was given an Oculus, it would absolutely amaze him. He’d be astonished to see things from other places through a pair of goggles, and he’d probably carry it around like a prized possession.
✧ He would live the cushioned life of convenience with something like the Internet at his fingertips. It would absolutely replace the Codex. Though, I’m not sure how much Achilles would appreciate that...
✧ Not that this would count as “modern” or “technology”, but Zagreus absolutely would love spicy food. And he can handle spicy. So perhaps some genetically-enhanced, well-bred peppers. (shoutout to @gatmora for that one, I just hardcore agree because I love spicy foods as well)
