So many hours it took me to complete the newly invented double knit twisted rib bind off on this cowl! The bind off was developed for me by a member of one of my fibre communities and they did such a fantastic job as it is stretchy and completely matches the invisible cast on. I put it over a pool noodle raft to block so it will dry nice & smooth all the way around.

I am so close to finishing the sleeve on the cardigan, about another inch left. This pattern is Greek Amphora Cardi it also my cardigan that survived the roomba trying to eat it. I have modified the pattern slightly to make it a full length sleeve cardigan. The second sleeve will go so much faster as I won't be doing the calculations for extending the design.

Doodle Set of my chunky hats!! This was probably my favourite set to make. Originally the white band was just to fix the fact that the contrast of other yarns wasn’t stark enough for the doodles to show up, but I love the effect it gave them in the end, especially the jam-jar fruit ones :D
Sadly these hats have have been sold, but many others are available on my etsy and will still arrive in time for Christmas!! Please consider supporting me, and getting a one-of-a-kind hat to warm you or your loved ones’ head!!

I had a fair amount of yarn left over so I tweaked the top half of the Oakwood knits stardew valley fall sock pattern and turned it into a beanie hat.
I want to do another one with the bottom half of the pattern because those chickens and tiny mushrooms and pumpkins were too cute.

so anyway I finished the baby dragon blanket.
this project took me easily over 100 hours to knit, plus 20ish hours to design and create the pattern itself. it's something like 200 stitches across and 250 rows long, with the backing knit directly onto the front panel. the baby I started this for has been born long enough that the parent has finished their parental leave and come back to work already (which I guess means I can easily hand it off after it's blocked?)
I broke the 'don't invent a new pattern for a gift' rule and paid the consequences. I could reasonably have done some research instead of just reinventing techniques, but I had fun and I think this turned out a solid 8/10 which is probably better than I had any right to expect under the circumstances.

techniques i use in c2c crochet (and all other applicable crochet scenarios, really) people might find useful i can post tutorials on as i go
butterfly bobbins - you do not need cardboard or plastic bobbin winders to make bobbins you can just wind yarn in such a way it forms a bobbin by itself for $0 (and with 0 tiny fiddly things you will inevitably lose somewhere)
magic knot - join yarn to keep working in such a way that a) will not come undone and b) does not require any weaving of ends
there is no shorthand official name (as far as i know) but "joining a new colour in a way that does not leave an end you have to weave in later". call it lazy join or something idk
obviously you can just. look up how to do those (except the last one bc i don't know what - if anything - it's called or if it's just something i do because i will avoid weaving at all costs) but if anybody wants and would find it useful i can just take photos of the process next time i do it in this blanket and then post it like that one time i did "how to wind a centre-pull ball" or "doing surgery on a c2c blanket to replace a square"

'I will make a Wangxian bunny jumper,' I said. 'It'll be cute and fun,' I said. And then it sat at the bottom of my knitting bag for three months untouched.
But now, at long last, the bun-per lives! Maybe one day it'll be cold enough to wear it!

some gloves i finished a few days ago!! very belatedly because i lost yarn chicken with the main colour and then couldn’t remember which colourway it was and the yarn had like five shades of navy it was a whole thing.
pattern is Ravenlight Gloves by disyarningdesigns, in some sort of cotton giclee (?) by Rowan.

The colourwork is finally done & I just have to do the ribbing. Before I do that though, I’m going to weave in a lifeline because I’m terrified I’m going to stuff up the ribbing colour control and I really don’t want to tink whole rows…

I have finished the colourwork for my greek pottery inspired cardigan! Next step is gentle blocking, then into steeking, and finally finishing of the edges and button band. The pattern is Greek Amphora Cardi and this is the same cardigan that the Roomba tried to eat back in the fall.

Bonus image of all my floats. I am very happy with how it has been turning out. Took ages to sew in all the ends on the sleeves. Very glad I decided on the second sleeve to leave the longer floats between motifs and save on ends to weave in.

My hats are up for sale!!
I started this project in January to get through the enormous stash of Stylecraft Special Chunky I’d managed to accumulate (mainly from me and my dad’s temperature scarves), and to challenge myself to develop my own patterns and charts. They’re now finally done and up to buy on my etsy store!! Purchase them here to support my little craft endeavours!

I used one of the variegated yarns i dyed last year and made some cute socks inspired by the Lirika Matoshi strawberry dress that went viral a few years ago. I'm not entirely happy with the pattern but overall I love it.
