Game Review: Thora Hirds Extreme Stairlift (Commodore 64)
7/10
"Thora Hird’s Extreme Stairlift" falls short of its lofty ambitions, earning a dismal score for its frustrating gameplay and misleading premise. The game, featuring a character named Thora Hird with an uncanny yet completely unlicensed resemblance to the beloved actress, centers around the task of ascending stairs safely while dodging relentless in-game enemies called 'Sponge Kenneths'. Unfortunately, the main feature is critically flawed: the game lacks actual stairs, substituting them with poorly designed ramps that detract from the core experience. The relentless 'Sponge Kenneths' add to the frustration, as they tirelessly attempt to dethrone Thora, but the challenge quickly becomes tedious rather than engaging. Despite its potential for nostalgic charm, "Thora Hird’s Extreme Stairlift" fails to deliver a satisfying or enjoyable gaming experience.

Eleventh Fleet AU - Admiral Karyn Faro
This was supposed to be an art post in honor of the anniversary of the release of the Thrawn Trilogy from Legends, but I'm only on the second book, so my opinion on the story has not yet been fully formed.
It was still the May weekend and after such a good cold I wanted a banal, basic rest.
However, I discovered such a thing as photobashes in concept art… And I decided to make a “sketch” for screenshots from the game. It turned out to be a very strange experiment, but the experience was really interesting…
Disclaimer: such a game does not exist… It is unlikely that it will exist.

🇺🇸 Let's embark on a journey through the captivating history and unique features of the Commodore Amiga 1000—a groundbreaking computer that left an indelible mark on the world of computing.
💾 Introduced in 1985, the Commodore Amiga 1000 heralded a new era of multimedia computing, boasting advanced graphics and audio capabilities ahead of its time. It quickly became a favorite among creative professionals and gaming enthusiasts.
💻 Designed by Jay Miner and his team, the Amiga 1000 featured revolutionary architecture with custom chips for graphics and sound, offering unprecedented performance. Powered by a 7.14 MHz Motorola 68000 CPU, it also ran the unique AmigaOS, renowned for its multitasking capabilities and graphical user interface.
🐕‍🦺 The Amiga 1000's case design was inspired by a lunchbox, giving it a distinctive, compact form. Notably, it's the only model featuring the short-lived Amiga check-mark logo. The case's interior even bears the engraved signatures of the Amiga designers, including Jay Miner and his dog Mitchy's paw print.
🎮 Standout features included the ability to display up to 4096 colors and play stereo sound—unmatched by other personal computers of its time. The Amiga 1000 left a lasting impact, influencing digital art, animation, and video editing industries.
🕹️ A powerhouse for multimedia production, the Amiga 1000 enabled creative exploration for artists, musicians, and video creators. It was also a gaming pioneer, with iconic titles like "Defender of the Crown" and "Lemmings" showcasing its graphical prowess.
🎨 In the summer of 1985, Andy Warhol received his first Amiga 1000 home computer from Commodore International and became an enthusiastic brand ambassador. He famously created digital artworks, including a portrait of Debbie Harry using ProPaint software onstage at Lincoln Center, demonstrating the Amiga's capabilities to a live audience.
🌟 Today, the Commodore Amiga 1000 remains a beloved classic among retro computing enthusiasts, embodying the spirit of innovation and creativity of the 1980s computing era. Let's celebrate this iconic piece of computing history!

Game Review: Moon Ship (Commodore 64)
5/10
Load your cannons, hoist the space sails and set off through the cosmos in this dark title "Moon Ship" for the Commodore 64! This 80s classic stars Chuff Cromback, a well-natured pirate who wakes up after a 400-year coma, dreaming of sailing his ship, The Woolworths Sail, into lunar orbit to unearth buried alien treasure from Earth's infrequently frequented Moon.
The game's level design masterfully captures the vast blackness of space, offering a faithful and immersive backdrop for Chuff's adventures. As you navigate the perils of the galaxy, you'll face off against The Brieguffs, a spongy group of alienoid tyrants who roam endless space, and tirelessly try to send you off course. The backstory doesn't quite provide enough justification for their efforts or existence but they are difficult adverseries regardless.
The journey is accompanied by a jolly, melodic soundtrack of Peruvian pan-pipes, enhancing the game's charm and clear connection to the game's central designer who is a Cusco native - a town several hundred kilometres east-ish of Peru's capital 'Lima'.
"Moon Ship" is a perfected mix of space exploration and pirate lore, often blending both genres together so well that you'd be forgiven for thinking they were ever distinct in the first place.

Wow I got a cool bunch of stuff today!!!
Sadly I didn't seem to get any sound from the breadbin, but the other two work great!!! I'll be getting a safe power supply, and maybe a flash cartridge for the VIC-20 if I can find one, then I'll be having lots of fun with them! 🤩
