I hope there's people doing research about this bc i am so intrigued. These are 3 different orcas Chimo, Tl'uk, and Frosty

They are all from the same population, west coast transients. Chimo was captured and known to have Chédiak–Higashi Syndrome. Tl'uk and Frosty were both wild and it's unknown if they have the same condition or if it's (only[?]) leucism. Chimo died when she was 4-5, probably partially because she was in captivity and because her condition weakened her immune system. Tl'uk died when he was about 3 by unknown causes but its presumed it might have also been because of a weakened immune system given his discoloration. Frosty is currently almost 6 and doing well and their sex is unknown. Chédiak–Higashi Syndrome is genetic. I wonder if any or all of them were related? We have one female and one male, depending on Frosty's sex I wonder if that is a factor to the likeliness of getting the disease or how it's passed down? And the most interesting to me, WHYYY do they all have the same pattern of being darker on their rostrums??? Could the patterning also be genetic? ALSO!!! There are no pictures of Chimo younger than 2 years old, but this is Tl'uk and Frosty when they were younger

THEYRE BOTH EVENLY GREY??? Why did they get lighter AND darker as they got older? SCIENTISTS!!! DISCUSS!!!!
#im slightly confused on the leucism point bc i read some things that said chimo's Chédiak–Higashi Syndrome caused leucism#like it was just an umbrella statement for lack of pigmentation ?#and some things that said leucism is its own separate disease#i mean i know leucism is a condition but i dont know much about Chédiak–Higashi Syndrome and is they're overlapping here or what#theres also something to be said about some white orcas in japan !!!#which im adding in the tags bc im much less familiar with them#but theres a few adult males that are also white. i believe for unknown reasons#but they're pretty evenly colored#and they're much more yellowish than grey like these 3#idk how many there are but i think most of them are males ? and adults#so maybe their immune system isnt comprised ?#i also saw smth about their population possibly being fairly inbred and that could be a factor too#idk. its so interesting!!!! why are they all darker on their heads!!!!!!!!#whales

aftg bonus content spoilers‼️‼️
ok but Kevin saying "Coaches have no honor" when wymack said coaches honor???? Like in tsc, spoiler warning if you haven't read it yet, it is revealed to us through Jean how much coaches are feared respected highly in the nest. They're seen at a higher level than a coach should be, seen as some superior being that knows better anyone. It absolutely destroyed me seeing Kevin say that but in the good way because I interpret it to be him unraveling and opening the tight stitches the nest sewed into his mind from a young age.
#aftg bonus content#aftg spoilers#kevin day#the sunshine court#jean moreau#He also seems to be firm and somewhat resentful?? in his statement but I'm not sure abt this since I don't remember the sentence fully#But idk I just see it as him finally opening his eyes and seeing just how messed up everything was in the nest#How he was gaslit and manipulated from a young age conditioned to endure tetsujis abuse and still keep himself from falling apart#He seems to realize that tetsuji (pretty sure he knew before but maybe it didn't properly hit him until after he left and saw how wymack wa#with the foxes) didn't deserve to be put on that high pedestal not when he lost all meaning of the game his mother created not when he lost#sight of its true purpose#if u have any different interpretations let me know! I'd love to know other people's thoughts on this#tetsuji moriyama#david wymack

#for all statements and purposes this is a headcanon#my version of ROE in my personal canon is completely divergent from the actual story#part of that being that these two are both gay#and they have a mutually agreed upon lavender wedding in order to cheat Nana's stupid inheritance conditions#and then they split once brother gets the inheritance

Hafez al-Assad Jr's statement:
"There was never a plan—not even a backup—to leave Damascus, let alone Syria.
Over the past 14 years, Syria has endured hardships and dangers no less severe than those of late November and early December. Anyone intending to flee would have done so long ago, particularly in the early years when Damascus faced near siege, daily bombardment, and the constant threat of terrorists reaching its centre.
Before everything unfolded, I travelled from Damascus to Moscow on November 20 via Cham Wings Airlines to defend my doctoral dissertation on November 29. At the time, my mother was in Moscow following a bone marrow transplant she had undergone at the end of summer, which required isolation as part of her treatment. I had planned to stay longer after my defence to complete certain certification procedures, but as the situation in Syria deteriorated, I returned to Damascus on Sunday, December 1, aboard Syrian Air to be with my father and brother, Karim. My mother remained in Moscow to continue her treatment, with my sister, Zein, staying by her side.
Regarding the events of Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8:
On Saturday morning, my brother sat for a mathematics exam at the Higher Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology in Damascus, where he was studying. He was preparing to resume classes the next day. Meanwhile, my sister had booked a ticket to return to Damascus on Sunday, December 8, aboard Syrian Air.
On Saturday afternoon, rumours began circulating that we had fled the country. Several people reached out to confirm whether we were still in Damascus. In response, I took a picture at Al-Nairabain Park in Al-Muhajireen neighbourhood and shared it on my (now closed) private Instagram. Not long after, some social media pages picked up the picture and began circulating it.
Until then, despite the distant sounds of shelling, nothing seemed unusual—just the familiar reality we had grown accustomed to since the early years of the war. The situation remained unchanged as the army prepared to defend Damascus, showing no signs of the subsequent deterioration—until the sudden and unexpected news of the army’s withdrawal from Homs, mirroring earlier withdrawals from Hama, Aleppo, and Idlib countryside. Even then, there were no preparations for departure, nor any indication that we would be leaving. That changed after midnight when a Russian official arrived at our home in Al-Malki neighbourhood. He conveyed a request for the President to relocate to Latakia for a few days due to the severity of the situation in Damascus and to facilitate the oversight of the battles, which were still ongoing on the coastal and Al-Ghab Plain fronts.
As for the claim that we left without informing my cousins, who were in Damascus at the time, I was the one who called them multiple times as soon as we knew we were relocating. Shortly afterward, we learned from their household staff that they had left for an unknown destination.
After a short time, we headed toward Damascus International Airport, arriving around 3a.m., where we were joined by my uncle, Maher. We found the airport deserted, with no staff present, including at the control tower. We then boarded a Russian military aircraft to Latakia, landing at Hmeimim Airport before dawn.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, we were supposed to head to the presidential retreat in the Burj Islam area, which is over 40 kilometres from the airport by road. However, all attempts to reach anyone there were unsuccessful, as every phone we tried was turned off. We soon began receiving reports of military withdrawals from the frontlines, and the fall of the last remaining positions. At the same time, a series of drone attacks began targeting the base, accompanied by both close and distant gunfire in the surrounding area; this situation continued throughout our stay.
In the afternoon, the base command briefed us on the gravity of the situation nearby. They informed us that leaving the base was no longer an option, as terrorists had spread through the country, the situation had descended into chaos, and all communication with military leadership had been lost. After consulting with Moscow, the base command informed us that our transfer to Russia had been requested. Some-time after, we boarded a Russian military aircraft bound for Moscow, where we landed later that night."

Why do you guys take this as if im shitting on luigi and rooting for his death LOL. I stand with luigi, but it’s good that we acknowledge and prepare ourselves for his fate. You really think they caught a random person that coincidentally was estranged from their family for half a year, went missing, had a backpack full of items that make sense in this murder, similar looks from hostel image and cab, exact gait as the murderer, and the confirmed journal entry discussing the healthcare system??? Really guys? Come on. It’s important we continue what he started. Not the murder itself but the message.
While anon is correct about death penalty being abolished in NY, Pam Bondi is asking to seek it to the full extent for luigi. On her part, she was dumb to not say alleged, given she’s a public figure and should state things legally. But trump ks in office guys, he’s an elite just like any CEO, he’s definitely going to take any measure when luigi gets convicted. I’m not saying alleged because 1) im anon and not a public/political figure 2)my OPINION, I DO however, say he’s innocent until proven guilty. Because everyone deserves the presumption of innocence, but it’s quite obvious he’s the one who did it.
I live off government assistance, I can’t afford any top grade insurance, why the fuck would I be a boot licker? You have no idea what insults you’re throwing around. I can’t even work because of my mental disorders, the same people who preach kindness and peace are the same ones to attack you the second you don’t agree with them on something. How ironic. I have mutuals that went to UPenn the same time as luigi and they all ofc had great things to say about him, but some were close with his best friend Matt and have more personal details that I will not be sharing but it all connects, unfortunately. I know me saying this sounds false, but I’m aware some of you guys deep dive into Luigi’s life and will know who im talking about if you really dig, I guess.
Free luigi. He needs help. He needs to leave this country and find peace without murdering an innocent (Brian was not a murderer, just because he holds a CEO title, does NOT mean HE directly declines every claim. Please do your research for that before attacking me.) And yes he deserves a fair trial, but let me tell you, it’s NOT going to be pretty. I bet he’s going to do a plea deal or admit his guilt like a certain criminal…
well, the way i answered was based on how you spoke in those asks. so it's not my fault i guess. you will get exactly what you give here. i can't help that. *shrugs*
i can say everything you said is perfectly valid and is a perfectly sane opinion to have, except one thing. i will say that you're so wrong when you're saying the dead ceo is innocent. Hitler also personally didn't send every single person who died in the gas chambers or in transportation to the concentration camps, but he did 100% device all the plans that made that happen and basked in the glory of the genocide that he was the mastermind of. it's the same thing with the dead ceo, maybe he didn't deny healthcare of every single person by himself, but he still sat on his ceo throne and overlooked a system that was actively denying essential healthcare to too many people to count and he was basking in the glory of this deeply evil act by earning over ten millions per year and not giving a single flying fuck over whether people died because they were being denied healthcare because of his policies and other policies he enabled. so yes, that dead ceo was just as much as a murderer as Hitler was, at least in my eyes. and i am sorry to tell you that most people (around the world) would agree with me on this. altho whether most of those uwuified americans would agree with me or not is a different matter, because y'all seem to be desensitised to a whole host of things that people of no other country (at least the democratic ones) are desensitised to. but i think it's fair to say that everybody around this part of tumblr would agree with me, so you're on thin ice if you attempt to call the ceo innocent again.
#once again saying this if you didn't hear already Luigi would not be agreeing to a plea deal#you have made me believe that you can read fairly well altho not well enough since you're professing this opinion#so i'll tell you to read any of his lawyers' statements especially KFA's#even in her last statement released immediately after the death penalty announcement came from Bondi#KFA said that his legal team would fight the charges in PA and in NY and at the federal level and anything else they want to pile on top#of him which directly says that they're going to fight the charges all the charges and they're literally getting paid to do that#so in short no Luigi would not be taking a plea deal under no conditions not even the Trump administration returning back to power#why?? because he has the public's support Luigi only wins with a jury deciding on his fate#he would never lose with a jury made of fellow citizens#i cannot promise that he would win a.k.a. walk free but i can promise he would never lose no matter what is the outcome of the jury trials#because no jury would ever unanimously agree to execute him which means the authorities fail automatically with Luigi getting a jury trial#and he also doesn't lose at all#edit: also wait i forgot to say this but i gotta#if you scrolled through this blog even for a bit you'd know that i have extensively talked about the death penalty and what other things#could happen to Luigi i have not sugarcoated anything everybody on this blog (including me) are aware of what could happen#so for you to tell us to be prepared for the worst and the second worst things that could happen we know buddy#everybody here knows that too well already you're in fact late to the party and you're not even partaking in the appetizers at this party#asks

Loathe to say it folks but they weren't lying, exercise and stretching is helping my chronic pain somewhat. Goddamn it. They were right.
#jay talkin#note: it is not taking my chronic condition away. my arm is still at 30% efficiency and is in near constant pain#however the stretching and exercising is helping my body compensate with and cope with that pain and lack of function#and its keeping my mind more focused and off the mental health ramifications of constant pain#if im lifting weights im not thinking about pain. if im stretching im not thinking about pain#the stronger and more flexible my body gets the more i can compensate for and recover from re-injury and pain#dont take this statement as me saying the cure all to chronic conditions is just work out!!#purely that i as an individual am having success with this and am celebrating it by making goofs and gaffs

as a society, we really need a better understanding that just because something is labeled as AI does NOT mean it's generative AI. AI has existed for a LONG TIME before generative was a thing....like bffr
#AI#traditional AI#generative AI#said this on twitter like a week ago and forgot to post here#use your critical thinking and research skills#traditional AI at its core is just an algorithm. and algoriths are just loops and conditional statements. that's it.#generative AI is different from that#don't just assume the AI you hate is being used in the thing you're skeptical about#take the extra step to do some research on it and find out for sure#shouldn't need to say that but people love to find the next negative thing they can make a trending topic#this is about nothing in particular other than reminding people to take a step back and do your research before you spread misinfo

i hate my uncontrollable need to analyze everything. my inability to only partially devote myself to things that will never be a constant. being too little or too much, exacerbating or not quite enough. i have roused myself with the guise of our friendship, acknowledging now that's all it can be. rejecting my kindness, while bringing tenfold your own. like magnets we push and we pull, all based upon the way in which we chose to orient ourselves that day.
#semicolons as commas as a headsup if you care to read my tags#yes this is about my ex.#he broke up with me but we're still friends#told him i think i may have pmdd and he researched it IMMEDIATELY before i had the chance to explain#on our first date i mentioned a condition his sister may be experiencing due to the symptoms he mentioned and he seemed disinterested in +#looking it up#(whether thats bc it was a first date or not; i'm not sure)#he offers me endless support and appears to care for me deeply#mojo pin always makes me think of him whenever i listen to it... its just so him.#on monday he hugged me when i told him i was experiencing severe anxiety again for the first time in years#(even though my shoulders were touching my ears; he just wanted to help me feel better :<)#we can have serious; adult conversations with little difficulty. even our breakup was relatively clean and easy all things considered#no 'you' statements. no attacking one another like i've always seen.#how is it that the first boyfriend i get is calm; collected; emotionally mature and smart and it has to end#i'm not even that much of a romantic when it comes to lifelong partners; but he seriously had me considering it as an option.#he even apologized for not listening to me fully when i grumbled that he hadnt and reexplained a situation to him. like!?!?#GRAGHHFHDJDIDJD i wish i could just hate him.

Part of the issue with reading comprehension, especially concerning conditional statements, is that it involves both rhetorical analysis and—surprisingly enough—math. The two subjects every teenager past and present love to hate.
#as a computer scientist we had an entire math unit breaking down conditionals#including equivalence with inverse; converse; and contrapositive.#and had to use this to explain to someone that just because someone said ''if x then y'' does not mean ''if y then x''#a conditional statement (A -> B) does not equal the inverse (!A -> !B) nor converse (B -> A). it only equals the contrapositive (!B -> !A)#i might explain in greater detail at a later point if i feel like it
