I am seeing some of the WORST takes about tdp season 4. Sweet, sweet tumblr users. This season was a lot of set up, not everything was supposed to be explained or resolved, or even "should" have been. Season 4 had to do the heavy leg work of re-establishing characters and arcs and the plot moving foreword. It just needs a little time to be able to act on everything it's now established. It did a good job building off of arc 1, and now we are fully indoctrinated into arc 2!

Zutara (Avatar: the Last Airbender) Zuko and Katara complement each other perfectly personality-wise. The share the same core values, but are different enough to make it interesting. And the narrative parallels these two have are insane for being a non-canon couple. They get all of the emotional development in the show, and you expect me to go with the hastily thrown together canon ships? Plus I'm always a sucker for enemies to friends to lovers.

Tenth Doctor / Rose Tyler (Doctor Who) Ultimate friends to lovers with time travel mixed in! What's not to love? I especially love the way you can just tell that they're besties first and anything else second.

Camen Sandiego / Graham "Crackle" Calloway (Carmen Sandiego 2019) Enemies-to-friends-to-enemies-to-strangers-to-friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-enemies and if the show wasn't a coward they'd have ended up together. I'm a sucker for complicated relationships where the characters find themselves on opposite sides of a conflict. Also the chemistry is off the charts. (Yes, it's another red/blue non-canon ship, sue me.)

Percy Jackson / Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson series) Love these two together! Years-long slowburn with fantastic development, and Annabeth is an absolute badass character.

Sokka / Suki (Avatar: the Last Airbender). The only good canon ship in the show. It's very sweet and they both respect each other a lot.

El Topo / Le Chevre (Carmen Sandiego 2019). Ah these two. They're an opposites attract ship that works so well and get so many cute/funny moments in the show. You can just tell how much they care about each other. Also the only ship that the show actually confirms 😂

Enola Holmes / Tewkesbury (Enola Holmes movies) Badass detective girl and an absolute simp of a boy.

Anastasia / Dimitri (Anastasia movie) Love their chemistry and banter. Seriously, they banter so much that another character literally keeps a "shots fired" notebook 🤣

Sophie Hatter / Howl Pendragon (Howl's Moving Castle - both movie and book, but especially book). Love the utter chaos of this ship. Neither of them know how to communicate and its hilarious.

Jenny Flint / Madame Vastra (Doctor Who) Time travel detective lesbians based in Victorian England!

The perception that classical music is somehow more arcane and esoteric than any other kind of music is 90% of the reason people are so totally uninterested in it. Most people seem to have just decided that there’s no way they’ll ever understand or enjoy classical music, so the second it comes up they turn their brain off and refuse to even try to engage with the material because it’s ‘boring and too hard’. It’s the same shit with math, or physics, or any other ‘difficult’ subject that people arbitrarily hate cuz it’s ‘RelAtAbLe’ to not understand it.

HEHE WELL honestly the way i thought of it was kind of just kandreil being a thing throughout college/kevins last year but after his graduation he kind of goes m.i.a, in my heart i think about kevin moving out of the states to play exy a lot and i think itd actually be relevant and even important to him to be able to see the world beyond the nest......... but it also means things like different timezones, new people and new languages, an entire new life really that andreil of course do not agree with... i dont think they necessarily part on bad terms but andrew and neil very much dont want him to move away. in the end kevin (midnight rain plays softly in the background) wants the world in more ways than just a small apartment somewhere in denver and two cats you know....

so the fic would be really kevins return to the us a decade later, having broken off things with andreil but still loving them dearly....... right person wrong time kind of thing really.... and then theres andreil who never really stopped waiting for kevin, never stopped thinking about him, but accepted (after a lot of therapy mind you) that theres nothing you can Do when someone wants to/has to leave. i dont think thered even be a need to Rebuild their relationship per se because its always been there!!! andreil still have his stupid books in their apartment and kevins old jackets in their closet... i think theyd even come to pick him up at the airport totally uninvited too... BASICALLY JUST. ahhh you know... getting older and different but still yourself, being waited for when you thought your absence meant nothing, that kind of thing.... would kevin have stayed if he knew how much his absence would hurt them? would they have been as adamant about him staying if they had the insight of older men who know kevins ambitions are just as important as their own?
