Resting is difficult for me. My mind is full of so many things I think I need to do in order to prove to myself that I can live beyond the disabilities that I live with. However, I've been learning that my body, mind and spirit need to rest and resting is part of living. I need to engage with my spirit today. Even though I won't be doing a lot of movement, my spirit will take me on a journey within myself. It will be one where I will look at balance, the night and the day, and choose a new direction for myself. In order to rest, I need to look at myself in a new light. I need to stop judging myself and thinking I'm weak because I need to rest and recuperate. I need to look within and try to find the root of the grind culture mindset that I live with and try to set it free. I need to start a new relationship with myself. I am connected to so many other people in my life and I am surrounded by love. I am not alone, but connected to so many others and I can ask people for help. I don't need to do everything myself. I am finally started to feel free and clear. . No, not every moment is clear. . There's so many parts of me that want to zig zag out of the magnetic pull that is aligning all these different parts of me, and it's a moment by moment, and day by day thing... . 🙏 Why center in God....why be so vigilant and dedicated in a spiritual practice? Last week Connor and I avoided a car crash. Before any trip, whether it be by foot or by engine. I imagine peace, protection and prayers wherever I go. We were in the car heading to a mini vacation. It's a single lane highway and it was busy. We stopped multiple times to wait for people to turn etc. We went from 80km to 0 quickly, so 60 km felt safer. As we were stopped I glance in my rear mirror and see a blue minivan barreling towards us. I think, she is going way too fast to stop and she doesn't see that were stopped. At the last second, she (god, Angels, loved one's, the whole darn collective team. I think of the song "Jesus take the wheel") swerved to the right narrowly missing us and smashing our back end. I glanced over and she grabbed her chest and mouthed oh my God! Wherever she was, she was not present while driving! I'm grateful that nobody was hurt, of course I wanted to be angry! I felt a calm wave wash over me and said it's OK and were OK. This is a reminder to be present, peaceful, centered and protected wherever you go.
