We made sure to look extra close after staying inside last week! the seeds are growing well!

We also took a look at some new plants our human bought at a local garden centre - Abutilon (tall one) & Convolvulus (shiny one)

But seriously, it's all tied to the main conflict of the story and will be explained later. Nothing's easy inside a wounded heart. Don't worry. Bindweed (morning glory) is a very tough flower, it survives the cutting and hard to get rid of.

Also I hope now you guessed what this sword means, it appears in the story since the 11th page.

Convolvulus Hawk Moth - Mothtober #26

This big moth (up to 10cm wingspan) can be found in  Europe from May to June, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand and it looks a little bit like a hummingbird from the side. He is strongly attracted to light which makes it very vulnerable to cars :(

My mind was blown when I learned it could fly up to 100km/h speed in spikes, and can maintain a 50km/h cruise speed. Thanks to that they can fly very large distance and migrate all the way up to Scandinavia.

I wasn't super excited to draw this one but it turned out to be one of my favorite. I like the subtle harmony of the colors and its softenn. The fur was fun to draw. I also experimented with a decor without outline, which I like, but the feedback I got mainly prefers it with lines. What do you think?

#2573 - Calystegia tuguriorum - New Zealand Bindweed 

AKA pōuwhiwhi, and pōwhiwhi. Formerly Convolvulus tuguriorum. Calystegia comes from the Greek words kalyx ‘cup’, and stege ‘a covering’ because the calyx of some bindweeds is enclosed in two bracts. tuguriorum means 'growing around huts'.

A perennial vine which grows in lowland areas throughout New Zealand, but also found in Chile and the Juan Fernandez islands.

Easy to grow from seed and rooted pieces, and once established actually becomes difficult to eradicate. When grown through a hedge the large white flowers show off nicely and the creeping stems are more easily contained.

Known to hybridise with C. soldanella and probably C. sepium subsp. roseata.
