Israeli and American researchers have discovered a nanobody cocktail that could neutralize coronavirus, including the Delta mutation. Nanobodies are single domain antibodies derived from llamas – or other members of the camel family. The discovery of the cocktail and their effectiveness in combating coronavirus was published in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Communications. “If we can produce an innovative drug through the cocktail, it will be a life-saving treatment – if given early in the disease,” according to Hebrew University School of Engineering and Computer Science Dr. Dina Schneidman-Duhovy, who helped lead the study with University of Pittsburgh researcher Dr. Yi Shi.

“In addition, anyone exposed to a verified patient will also be able to use this treatment as a prophylactic (preventive) treatment. ”The structural analysis of the nanobodies performed by the researchers provides options for the development of vaccines or future treatments that could work against a wide range of coronaviruses and even help eradicate coronavirus-like diseases, the researchers said. Specifically, they found that the nanobody cocktail neutralizes the virus, blocks it from infecting cells and prevents the onset of the disease.

This is not the first study by the research team. In December 2019, even before the onset of SARS-CoV-2, the researchers reported in the peer-reviewed journal Science on the development of technology for the identification of nanobodies using proteomics, which determines functional protein networks at the level of cell, tissue or whole organism. After the disease surfaced, they understood that this technology could be effective and used it to determine which nanobodies out of tens of millions could be used to block virus infection. For this experiment, the researchers used llamas on a farm in Massachusetts. They vaccinated a particular black llama named Wally with a piece of the coronavirus spike protein. Two months later, the llama produced nanobodies against the virus. Llamas, explained Tomer Cohen, a student in Schneidman-Duhovy’s lab, were used because not only do they produce antibodies similar to human antibodies, but they also produce these nanobodies that are less than half the molecular weight and can reach areas that are inaccessible to larger antibodies. The nanobodies can be administered by inhalation, which makes them cheaper and easier to use for treatment. The most difficult task was not producing the nanobodies, but determining which among them was best for combating corona. The researchers carried out a precise structural mapping to choose the eight nanobodies, some of which they showed bind to spike-free regions to which normal antibodies have no access at all. They were also able to show that some of them work against both the Alpha and the Delta strains, and likely would work against other mutations. “Finding these mechanisms is extremely important in preventing the virus from entering cells, not only for existing variants and those that may appear in the future, but also for other viruses from the corona family, which may develop into similar global diseases in the future,” Cohen said. The cocktail is still undergoing clinical trials and therefore cannot yet be used in the hospitals, Schneidman-Duhovy stressed. However, she said that “we certainly see that there is hope on the horizon.”

missed the sun and clear skies. I liked the temperature this month as compared to June because it raised to 38 degrees and I have very sensitive skin so I've had lots of heat rash that time sgsg. and this month, my plants haven't been too happy with the gloomy and rainy July...

though as of the moment, the sun's out!! so I've put my plants out on the window ledge and started my pile of laundry, hopefully tomorrow I could get to do my sheets and blankets.

Space Jam: A New Legacy vs. 1996 Space Jam vs. Osmosis Jones

Space Jam: A New Legacy released (7.16) 25 years after The original MJ version of Space Jam which released November 15th, 1996, 11.15. Close enough to be 11.16. coding you  see the 116 =>119<=>911.

Both movies about the invasion of bugs that are associated with Corona virus morphology and have the variants in the different bugs in Space Jam which is 5.  Alpha=1, Beta=2, Gamma=3, Delta=4, Epsilon=5.  We are currently being told that Delta is our enemy that is overthrowing vaccination power.  So are we to

Crazier still, after so many years, authorities have exonerated the innocent scientist they took down as the terrorist of the bio attacks and China just days ago is pressuring the World Health Organization to investigate United States Fort Detrick’s Lab which has ant-hr-ax and other dangerous microbes.

Just happens that  Dr. Irvins’ memorial of his death was on the day I was looking this up, July 28th.  

Osmosis Jones movie also made reference to Botulism which people like Kardashians voluntarily inject to keep the lines frozen on their faces, aka BOTOX.

Twin Giga Break was able to finish off an amped King Galactron (although weakened previously by RMM’s 87 Flasher) after Kei has absorbed many of Geed and Zero’s attacks previously

Ultraman Toregia (Sealed/Suppressed, Known Power)

Abilities:

Either has (some degree of) clairvoyance and/or can read minds

Can transverse between universes and dimensions of said universes (most notably cyberspace)

Able to create wormholes

Also demonstrated a previously unseen degree of dimensional transversing, whereby Toregia can exist in both the physical and cyberspace realm simultaneously, as seen when he taunts Katsumi and Blu

Can teleport himself quickly (Fast enough before Titus can manage to land a blow on him) or multiple beings like Ultras or kaiju across universes

We also see another aspect of this when Toregia first kidnapped Riku and Pega from the Side Space Universe, so its also possible that he could also exist in teo different universes at once by combining his wormhole and teleportation ability

Able to cast illusions, the sophistry of which is unlike we’ve ever seen in the Ultraman Franchise

A very manipulative and cunning mind, was responsible for the destruction on several planets by just manipulating its inhabitants, was also able to take out the entire New Gen Roster with traps

Able to summon a BEAST of a kaiju like Snake Darkness and even further empowering it with Ischyros Dynamis

Durability:

Able to tank Gruebe Vortex Buster and Wrecking Nova consecutively with seemingly no effort (Color timer was not even flashing red)

Titus’ charged blows directly to his face (150 000t++ as he first empowered it with his aura and rushed at Toregia) was easily shrugged off

Flame Blaster did almost no damage to him at all

While normal charged blows delivered by Titus (150 000t+) at point blank range was simply laughed off

Physical Capabilities:

Trera Ardiga was able to reduce Taiga, Titus and Fuma to particles with a single shot (Basically one-shot them)

Geargy Dirge decimated Ruebe, Geed and Regina all at once (Even managed to split Reuebe in the process)

Ischyros Heba was strong enough to allow Toregia to easily wave off Grigio Regina’s Erga Trio Cannon, the same attack that broke through Ruebe’s guard and deactivated him into his human forms

Ultra Dynamite’s potency was implied to be comparable to Taro’s own

A single palm strike was able to send Taiga flying (40 000t)

Fast enough reflexes to outpace even Fuma’s speed (Only surprising if you actually take Toregia’s official stats seriously)

SO

In terms of durability and power output, Toregia stomps without question

This leaves Shining Zero as basically a ‘plot device’ form which manipulates time

But we know that any ultra that’s strong enough could replicate this as seen with Ace and it was also implied Taro could do the same

Considering that Toregia is implied to be on Taro’s level, we’ll then be talking about hax vs hax, which is a really thorny issue, but we can literally sidestep that by considering the fact that with Toregia’s ingenuity, he could easily figure out a way to render the Ultimate Bracelet useless as we saw that it was possible before

Not to mention that we haven’t even seen the full extent of Toregia’s power in his sealed form, much less talk about his unsealed form

03 May 3309 Eta Sagittarii I’ve spent the past few days hopping around nearby systems, collecting plants and rocks with funny shapes. I have to say, exiting hyperspace right in front of a giant star always makes a bit of an impression. I landed on a very hot planet, AB2, and then went to take a look at the view from the dusty and rocky rings around planet AB5. The giant star was shining through the dust, which was a lovely sight. I realised that the tiny spot I could see in front of η Sagittarii A was actually... another star. A brown dwarf, which barely looked bigger than a planet. In fact, it’s only about 4 times bigger than the largest planet in this system. Picked up an occupied escape pod and a black box, which I found floating in space next to the 3rd star in this system, and dropped them at the nearest station.

Rukbat After a visit in Kaus Australis (also known as Epsilon Sagittarii), I found myself in Rukbat (Alpha Sagittarii), where a message flashed on my HUD, informing me that I was visiting a system with a neutron star for the first time. I might need to get some maintenance done on my systems, because I know I visited Jackson’s Lighthouse months ago with CMDR Curious Sparrow.

Zeta Coronae Austrinae After Delta Coronae Austrinae, another giant star, I am now in Zeta Coronae Austrinae, which marks a deviation from my exploration of the Sagittarius constellation, as I am now in the Corona Australis constellation. And I just realised, as I was looking at my galmap and wondering why there were no traces of human population, that I have accidentally.. left the Bubble. Well, only kind of, because civilisation is not far, but still. Oops.

04 May 3309 HIP 95726 There was fungoida on this planet and it was only growing on the dark side, at the bottom of a canyon. Everything was pitch black. I kept hearing weird sounds, and couldn’t tell if it was just the wind, or if maybe something was lurking in the dark, waiting for me to fall into a trap... Then my instruments started malfunctioning, the altitude readings were all wrong, and my suit HUD glitched out. I finished picking up my samples and left without any further considerations. I’m not sure what was there. I’m not sure I want to know, either.

05 May 3309 HIP 93520 After visiting a few systems that had not been previously mapped, I found myself here, in HIP 93520, where it seems more Commanders have been before me. I wonder if they were also awed when they found the ringed Earth-like planet under the blue light of the A-type star.

As I got closer to the rings, I was surprised to find there was a miner there, someone in a Krait Mk2, just minding his own business until a pirate showed up. I wasn’t expecting that, considering we are over 100 light-years away from any human settlements. The pirate sent hatch breakers after the miner, who dropped all of his cargo... and a bunch of proximity mines. He opened fire and seemed to scare the pirate away. (Said pirate did come back to try and scan me before high-waking, disappointed.)

06 May 3309 Col 359 Sector KG-X D1-64, body 6F I think this moon may have once had an ocean, or some sort of liquid water, at least. The average temperature of 166K would no longer allow for that, but who knows, maybe it used to be warmer. I did find several plant samples at what seemed to be the bottom of a dried-up sea. No traces of specifically marine life, even in fossil form, however.

10 May 3309 R CrA Sector MI-S B4-6 The nebula I have chosen as my next destination is getting close, and it is easy to spot it with the naked eye now. I am quite excited, as I have never visited a nebula before! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This system was pretty interesting from an exobiological standpoint, I found several variants I had not encountered before, as well as a brand new (to me) genus, Clypeus. A small plant, with what seems to be a reflective, multi-coloured shell.

BrsO 14 I made it the the R CrA nebula! It is so pretty. I exited hyperspace facing a big blue star, then turned the ship around and found myself staring at a red sky. Absolutely mesmerising. Unfortunately, there was no planet for me to land on so I could admire the view from there, but I spent a good while just flying into the red cloud and observing it from all possible angles.

14 May 3309 PSR J1856-3754 I had seen there was a galactic curiosity a few jumps away, so I plotted a route to PSR J1856-3754, nicknamed "Coronet Pulsar". This one does not have one, but two neutron stars, separated by a mere 138 light-seconds. I will admit, I am still very nervous around those stars and I tend to keep my distances, but, maybe one day I will learn to dance with them.

15 May 3309 Col 359 Sector UM-T c4-6 Made a quick stop by the CB-1 Argon’s Reach megaship. It was a little strange seeing human faces again. There were a few other explorers there, we traded stories and routes. Some of them had been in the Black for such a long time and honestly... it showed. Being hundreds and hundreds of light-years away from civilisation does something to you, I’m sure. I did make sure to upload the data and pictures I had recorded to Universal Cartographics, the procedure took longer than I expected, but I also don’t think I had ever tried to upload that much data at once.

53 Nu Serpentis I am now officially back in human territory. I am not quite sure what led me here, but maybe it was just time.

17 May 3309 HIP 84913 Met a pilot named Ariel in a Type-9 Heavy, requesting some commodities. I’ll think about it and see if it’s anything I can find nearby. Which reminds me, I need to work on improving the Python’s FSD, there’s no way I’m going to be hauling any amount of goods in the Cobra’s 4-ton cargo hold. I love my Elmwing, but a trading ship she is not.

Laksak Took a shuttle to Laksak to retrieve the Python. My plan was to fly her back to HIP 84913, but... I am a butterfly with zero attention span... and I found myself doing exobiology sample collection in a Python. She managed alright, but I am very glad that most of the plants I found favoured flatter terrain, because I doubt I could have landed anywhere in the mountains.

18 May 3309 HIP 84913 (again) Finally made it to my destination. Ariel the trader had already left, so I loaded up on limpets and decided to go mining instead. This first mining trip went pretty well overall. Not going to make a fortune until I figure out what to focus on, but it’s nice learning how to fly another ship and doing something else.

Speaking of different ships. I am now also the owner of a little Eagle I’m going to outfit to go canyon running... For now, her name is Birchtwig.

25 May 3309 Deciat I’ve taken both the Python and the Eagle to Felicity so that she could upgrade some of the modules. Birchtwig is now much faster (I outfitted her with enhanced performance thrusters, which Felicity said should be a good choice), and Cedarcone can now jump much farther. This should help reach mining spots and marketplaces a little faster.

Bruth This system was torn by civil war... Several ships tried to interdict me while I was mostly flying from one debris field to another, trying to salvage components, and maybe rescue a person or two. I did salvage some commodities that sold for a decent price in a neighbouring system, so I jumped there, and then also accepted a few surface delivery missions. Nothing complicated. A pilot called Ashley had apparently forgotten his personal documents before going on vacation at a tourist resort called Prieto’s Muse, in Njemari. He seemed relieved when he saw that I had brought them.

26 May 3309 Vard Argon atmospheres can bring such pretty lights. I don’t often land on those bodies because they tend to be found in systems with dim stars, and if they are distant enough, the surface is almost completely dark and I can’t see anything. But this... this was beautiful.

What is public health all about? Public health refers to the science of preventing illnesses, improving health, fostering physical and mental well-being, controlling infectious diseases, and establishing health services for individuals. An awareness of the significance of community action in the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of diseases has emerged from regular human interactions (Bryant & Rhodes 2022). Protecting the health of entire populations is the main focus of public health. These populations can range in size from a single neighbourhood to a whole nation or continent (CDC Foundation 2022). Speaking of which, we all know about the global pandemic caused by the Corona Virus since January 2020 till today which has mutated into multiple variants like Delta, Alpha, Omicron and more. I still remember when the first MCO was implemented in March 2020 and it was truly a depressing period of time for everyone especially businesses and the economy (I literally spent half of MCO playing Sims 4 and making Dalgona coffee). Also a little rant, my mum made me wash groceries and SCRUB eggs with soap because she was scared the virus attached itself to it or something. Ok, rant over. Anyway, I think everyone is thinking the same thing... when is this ever going to end for good?

Is social media useful in spreading information on Covid-19 in Malaysia?

Let's talk about public health in Malaysia, there's an app that we all know called Mysejahtera. It is basically a contact tracing app developed for the Covid-19 pandemic. It consists of four main features. The app's primary goal is to let users calculate their risk of getting Covid-19. The software requests basic information from users about their symptoms, travel history, and recent contact with confirmed cases. After that, it divides them into risk groups and tells them what to do next. Those under surveillance would have to stay in their homes for 14 days and respond to the survey daily. Contact tracing is the second primary feature of the app. Before entering a building, users scan a QR code, and the system logs their previous 14-day visits. They can add dependents who don't own smartphones to their app so that they can also be accounted for. Only when a patient tests positive does the Ministry of Health release this information. If not, the data is archived after 30 days and deleted after 90. The software assigns unique QR codes that indicate a person's risk level and track where citizens have been. This depends on how many vulnerable individuals they have in their homes and whether they live close to a Covid-19 hotspot. The third feature is when registering for the MySejahtera app, citizens are required to provide comprehensive demographic data, including age, gender, and ethnicity. Future analysis and medical research can use this (Poon 2020). Last but not least, the app allows you to book appointments for vaccination as well as provide a certificate of vaccination after completion. Therefore, I do think that social media is useful in spreading information about Covid-19 in Malaysia mostly because of this app (of course other social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram & Facebook also provide useful information about Covid-19 rates, symptoms etc.). Though nowadays people don’t usually use the app anymore since the pandemic has kinda died down.

What about public mental health?

I'm not sure if you guys have heard of this Instagram account @buthonestly.co but they are a group of individuals based in Malaysia & Singapore who came up with a card game to facilitate conversations for people to open up and talk about their feelings. Their mission states that they wish to encourage vulnerability, and honesty with oneself and others and to discuss hard topics that people find difficult to talk about. I think this is a brilliant idea and thought it would be nice to share with you guys so do go check them out!
