TT Day 8

Today is May 8, 2020.  It has been 8 days since I’ve missed my flight.  I am just very mad and stressed.  And upset.  I don’t have anymore green, and I’m not gonna get anymore.  I’ve lost one of my closest friends.  She’s a dumb bitch.  Fake dumb bitch.  Well I guess this pandemic is showing the true colors in all these bitches.  Money is getting tight.  I am so worried when I rebook my flight that it’ll just be canceled again!  I can’t deal with this feeling of not knowing.  Not only that, but my landlord keeps texting me acting like he’s gonna take me to court, when it’s literally more money to do so.  He wanna hand over the apartment to a real estate agent like a dumbass.  But the funny thing is that if he does that and I’m still paying rent, he can’t legally do that.  I don’t know.  I just wanna be back in my country.  I can’t deal with this right now.

I think the doomsday preppers have got to be at least a little bit happy about everything that is happening right now.

Not that they want anyone to get sick, but now they know all their planning wasn't for nothing. I would really like to see a where are they now episode.

🛫 #goodbyeottawa #calgary #flyyyc . This is the last photo I took of Calgary when I left 5-months ago. It was winter. Our plane had just been de-iced and we were preparing to be carried off into an unknown future. This photo carries with it a lot of emotion for me. I remember bring really worried about the cats who were stowed away in the cargo. Calgary had been our home for many years (in my case, 17-years) and this was a huge change for us. It was heartbreaking to say goodbye 💔. . Sometimes things do not work out as we plan. A few short weeks after moving to Ottawa, the country would be placed in lockdown as a vicious #coronavirus emerged and a global pandemic surged? Being in a new city and starting new job during #coronaapocalypse was not easy. It was hard being confined within the walls of my tiny apartment in Ottawa far away from people/places that feel like home. In that sense, it has been an exceptionally cruel and difficult year -- with much turmoil, pain, and fear -- a great test of our individual and collective forbearance. . I am leaving Ottawa and returning to Calgary in a few days. I am sad that I never really got to see or experience this city in a real way. I missed out on a lot when #Covid shut down almost everything and placed heavy restrictions on how we socialize. I truly regret that I wasn't able to get to know the city and the people better and that I am leaving having experienced very little of what Ottawa has to offer. . Moving back to Calgary feels like what I need to do for many reasons. The world is still a very uncertain and scary place. The Calgary I left behind will not be the same one I return to. 🌈 #kindnessrockgarden #myottawa #ottcity . #Day61 of #SocialDistancing. Life is calmer and quieter now. There is a new tenderness here where I notice bird song in ways I never have before ... the sound of waves along the river's edge move me almost to tears ... and conversations with friends have an almost transcendental quality. And kindness ... I notice kindness more than I ever have before and appreciate it more. Beauty is rare but when I do find it, I am truly grateful. Just like this incredible rock garden that I stumbled upon during my #covidcoping walk today. A moment of kindness, and colourful beauty ... an unexpected surprise and inspiring reprieve from the mundane monotony and aloneness of this sad period in our history. And so deeply appreciated 💗 ... . It feels like I am living in the eye of the storm - in the calm center of a #coronaapocalypse hurricane. Along the edges are the fierce winds of sadness and worry - howling dementors circling and circling with raging uncertainty and the utter torment of the grief we all share ... . But as the days get longer and the hope of spring quietly blossoms, it is sometimes easy for me to forget that we are now living through an unprecedented global pandemic. Parts of me appear to be thriving in small tenuous ways.
