It never stops amazing me how quickly a child will adapt to a new situation. My 3 yr old, Jax, has embraced life with a mask rather quickly, even reminding us to wear ours when we leave the house. He thinks we are all superhero’s protecting our identities. The other day he discovered my gas mask and decided that this was the one for him. I haven't been here since forever and I know non of my followers really care but the reason behind that is that I'm just terrified.

A few years ago I was diagnosed with one respiratory disease, and last year I was also diagnosed with asthma. After a few tests the conclusion was I have two diseases instead of one. My doctors said that if I get Covid-19 it's very unlikely for me to survive.

I have been on lockdown since the pandemic started, not being able to go out for food and stuff, and I live on my own, so yeah, that's been a problem. My mom comes by from time to time to replenish my fridge but I haven't seen her, because I shouldn't have contact with anyone, not even her.

The past week I had to relay almost completely on three inhalers to be able to breathe. I can't go through the day by my own.

University is giving assignments like crazy and I just feel it's hopeless for me to work on them because I feel like I'm going to die anytime now and nobody seems to care. Not even my friends, not even my family.

I'm terrified of death, but I also am terrified of living like this, afraid and sick and hopeless. I don't want to die, but I find myself thinking about ending everything.

99% of the time, my shoots happen in my Hells Kitchen studio, in familiar surroundings with all of my own gear and trusted crew. That other 1% when I have to travel and go outside my element is a total thrill. This ESPN job in particular was a pretty cool location shoot. Kris LaManna, a good friend and longtime client from Popular Science, accepted a new position at ESPN Magazine, and asked me to travel to the Nova Scotia Sports Museum to photograph a dryer from Sidney Crosby’s childhood home. Apparently, Crosby used it as a goal and shot hundreds of hockey pucks into the thing until it resembled a dalmatian. I also got to shoot one of the oldest hockey sticks in existence. I was always mesmerized by light trails in images—the way a camera could capture something that the eye could not—and was waiting for the right shoot to play around with this. When a fashion editor from Las Vegas magazine showed me this Louis Vuitton bag, I knew exactly what to do with it. The bold font made me think of graffiti and I wanted to use light trails to make “graffiti” in the air. For this shot, we sourced LED flashlights and placed colored gels over them. I had 2 assistants waving the lights around a dark set while I experimented with long camera exposures. All of this happened in camera too, which is even cooler.
