i have to say it was a crazy move on russell's part to have ruby go through her own version of turn left/the girl who waited FOUR episodes into knowing the doctor

#that's INSANE I felt so bad for her #my girl has been having a rough time of it #like she had 1 and a half cool fun adventures and even in those she was faced with a terrible monster and also covered in snot #and in the other she was almost eaten as a baby #but then these last three episodes have been like. ruby is terrorised by an eldritch drag queen and shown a devastated alternate version #of her current time where the whole world is dead. ruby almost watches the doctor die and is nearly killed. ruby is abandoned by everyone #haunted by the ghost of herself and dies alone. like she is not having a good time of it 😭😭#I hope the next episodes are a little bit lighter she deserves a good old-fashioned romp every now and then #Ruby Sunday #my post #Doctor Who #dw

forcing myself to function through anxiety feels like im piloting an animatronic of myself

#very out of body like keep urself warm bc that helps with anxiety and forcing myself to eat and drink and i even wrote a whole cover letter #and im about to handwash laundry and the whole time my body feels like static #listen im like fine im anxious bc my grandma is now on hospice care and is declining fast and im across the globe from my family #and i was already anxious about a job interview thursday and about not having ajob yet and about my lease ending and about some minor healt #problems im experiencing and about my current research fellowship abroad so now im just in a constant anxiety attack #and tbh i want to talk to my mom about it but shes busy handling everything with my dying grandma #which like her health has been declining for two years it just took a rapid turn this weekend so its not a surprise just this is #bad timing for me personally to be processing this and dreading a call from home #like i'll be fine its just anxiety and stress and like certainly not the first time ive faced grief #i dont really want to talk about it #i just needed to vent it in some way bc i dont really want to talk to the students here about it

#salty talks #linebecks been on this list its my tarnished whos the new one. bc i was playing elden ring earlier #with linebeck is jsut like. i think itd be hot if he were covered in blood. yknow. the whole deal #with my tarnished its more me toying with the concept and it just working well with how i play her #as extremely aggressive n intending to Do Damage n just fighting through poison of scarlet rot or just facetanking attacks to get a hit in #im kinda interested in the idea that a tarnished can get pretty mangled up and keep going before getting killed #and i can have fun visual stuff with her since her face is covered by the guardian mask so i can play with clothing/armor damage #today i killed rykard (ridiculously fun fight btw. extremely fun) and thought abt like. her fighting recklessly and with the bloodthirst #to fight even while in the lava around him to the point where it melts away the bottom of her greaves and chars and damages her feet #i play elden ring like i play pokemon i intende to do as much damage as possible so dual straightswords and bleed buildup baybee #and my girl is absolutely just covered in blood covered in muck making a beeline for every boss every enemy #i like the idea that she joined the recusants specifically because she was bored and wanted more stuff to fight #i started off with the samurai background so thats interesting to factor into her- like she was fighting in that civil war #before she was compelled by grace to travel to the lands between and is kinda stoked to find out that she cannot die permanently #and is therefore free to take on everything the lands between has to offer. shes also probably a lesbian #siding with ranni using tiche as the main summon eager to help rya and probably nepheli #she likes women in some capacity. royal knight loretta is a fav. anyways. she prob gets torn to shit but if she can keep fighting she will #morgott was a very quick and frenzied fight for me i imagine she takes bad wounds during that but still pushes to keep up with him #she is. fun. this got beyond the point but also this was kinda an excuse to talk abt my tarnished

GOD ive somehow never mentioned it or really took observation of it before but one of my fav things about burner is how expressive the characters are. in every little line of dialogue and things they notice or even think about, there’s a whole unique movement and expression for it, it never stops or slows down, i think it’s one of the factors for the cast being SO good and so much more fleshed out and complex

#im a sucker for body language. specifically the way playdoh moves in such a way that’s like #constantly deliberately drawing attention to himself and flaunting himself #and also how record will often raise her hands to her face to sort of cover it in fear #just . SO much good stuff i might make a whole post analysing each character’s body language someday #burner osc #burner object show #burner

i have to wonder what super hardcore militant vegans think should be done about obligate carnivore animals, because in all my painfully-rapidly-approaching-30-years i've literally never actually seen anyone give a clear consistent much less halfway feasible answer on that

(not so) fun fact my first ever panic attack was in a very similar situation aka siren going off when I'm home alone and unsure what to do about the situation. needless to say i am not doing well rn! :)

Kids these days are gonna end up making their weird images with AI, instead of coming up with the idea themselves, and Photoshopping it like God intended.

If Adobe hadn't made itself so expensive, and the free equivalents weren't comparably mediocre, we wouldn't be quite in this position.

#work wants me to cover ai genotation in lessons for kids and tbh I'm a little uncomfortable with that #and i an quite skeptical about the use of that sort of thing and what it does to your brain #how it devalues the process of making art as someone who made a lot of weird Photoshops as a hobby #but idk i need to get paid #and one graphic artists i know did use it in her workflow but ugg #I'm ok with it as a gimmic but or a small tool but #as a the whole thing? it feels like cheating #i use face app for somethings and that's an AI tool of sorts if not a full on generative one #For example its gender filter is decent and much faster than doing that over Photoshop was and age filters are far better than anything #i ever attempted #but when i use those i merge them in with regular image editing techniques #and that's a bit beyond what i can cover even for a full week holiday activity program
