Sometimes people are bad people. Accept it, move on.

Tamlin is the villain. Him feeling regret and getting depression after ACOWAR is a result of HIS OWN ACTIONS.

Y’all realize you can make your own Elain crackship weeks without harassing real people, right? Like you can do that and we’d leave you in peace to do it? You don’t have to target and harass a group of people who are just trying to find the tiniest minuscule of enjoyment in this f*cked up fandom? Making threats and creating a whole tag so that you can ridicule real people just trying to have fun. You’re preaching about fandom inclusivity and the “rules” for fun fandom events while harassing and bullying real people who were only trying to do a considerate thing for others in a fandom where that’s rare. Your collective outrage speaks volumes of your lack of empathy.

Elain week is about Elain and positivity of her character. Elain fans have had to put up with the most heinous, misogynistic, cruel hate for years and god forbid we want to have a week where we are able to celebrate her with positivity.

Again, you can create your own ship weeks since it’s apparent you only care about Elain in the context of ships. I can’t even believe a rule against domestic abusers has led to this, but how can I even be surprised at this point when this fandom just sucks the goodness out of everything and warps it into ugly, unnecessary drama for the sake of what? Likes? Laughs? The thrill you get from putting others down?

I barely even participate in this fandom anymore. I only really contribute during fandom appreciation events because it’s the only time when it’s supposed to be about positivity and most of the fandom understands to respect that and leave others alone during that time. But now even that is being stripped away. And again, for what? A fictional domestic abuser that I can’t even tell if you actually care about. It seems to me that the real problem you have is the simple fact you live off joining the mob mentality and cyber bullying. Cause you realize that’s what you’re doing right? You’re mass posting negative, mean, and spiteful messages towards people you don’t even know—going as far as making threats to take over the event to purposely attack those who want to enjoy Elain during her week.

Congratulations. You’ve achieved what, exactly? Right, nothing. It’s honestly no surprise that you’re the type of people who would go this far for characters the author herself said are “giant douchebags,” nevermind the fact the domestic abuse hotline was even provided at the end of the book. If I hadn’t already lost all respect for how this fandom behaves towards one another, I sure have now.

It makes no sense and honestly this is all one big bit I have going on but listen here's the set up.

For those of you who don't know this is green pencil case kid

He doesn't have a name but he does have a green pencil case (not seen in this image) he's seen practically everything Akira has done on his desk. He can see Akira making his infiltration tools, texting in class and he can definitely see Mona just sitting in his desk. He knows Akira's weird but he doesn't say anything, he minds his own business and doesn't snitch which is why we like him.

Now with this information in mind let me set the scene!

Green pencil case kid is walking out of Shujin ready to head home for the day when he sees that weird kid with the desk cat meeting up with a very handsome blue haired stranger outside of the school. Bro is instantly captivated by resident pretty boy Yusuke and realizes he has to get this guy's number. How's he gonna do it?

He asks Akira, plain and simple. Now Akira is extremely skeptical of green pencil case guy because he's never so much as talked to him and yet here he is asking for one of his best friends' numbers. Akira is very protective of his friends so he wouldn't just go around giving out their numbers to anyone who asked. He realizes though that his classroom shenanigans have probably given his table neighbor multiple headaches so he compromises. He's gonna get to know green pencil case guy for the rest of the week to determine whether or not he's trustworthy enough to have Yusuke's number.

The week is hell for poor green pencil case boy as Akira drags him to weirdest places he's ever been. A hole in the wall cafe, a weapons shop, a sketchy clinic, and jazz club with some strange detective that has some weird tension going on with Akira. He realizes he might've been third wheeling their date but he doesn't want to dwell on that actually. Either way he ends up joining in on all of Akira's shenanigans throughout the week. By the end he's exhausted but content because Akira actually gave him Yusuke's number!

He learns a lot about this handsome blue haired stranger mostly that he's just as weird as Akira but it doesn't bother him at all, he's used to weird people at this point. He's a lot less intense in his hobbies though, rather than having to run around for different part time jobs or having homoerotic jazz nights Yusuke paints! He attends Kosei high and is an excellent artist.

Their first date is to an art exhibit where green pencil case kid reveals he's an amateur artist himself, all he does is doodle in class when he has the time. They're simple but they give him something to do when he gets bored and Yusuke, ever the art enthusiast, absolutely loves them. Yusuke thinks he doodles capture his artistic vision wonderfully, they're fairly simple but it's fitting for green pencil case guy. Speaking of the pencil case, Yusuke loves the color and how it stands out from the rest of green pencil case guy's supplies. He says it's a good reflection of the artistic side green pencil case kid hides from the world, his life is simple and mundane but there's that color that he has added to his own life. Something that is entirely his and proof that he exists outside of what might seem like a greater narrative.

Green pencil case guy appreciates Yusuke's words more than he thought he would. He's always felt very insignificant around his peers, like he didn't have a purpose like they did. He realizes just how perceptive Yusuke is, which is another thing he likes about him.

Needless to say they go on more art dates.

Listen I know it's really stupid but they're important to me okay. I'm gonna give them the love story of the summer. Yusuke and green pencil case kid for the win 💪

A few people have asked questions on the ship week's Prompt Poll, so I will address them here:

Q: Will we have an "Alternate Universe (AU)" prompt? Are AUs allowed?

A: Yes, there will be an "Any AU" prompt! It is not a voting option because it is already guaranteed. AUs are allowed for the ship week in general, but it will exist as a prompt as well.

Q: Are OC x canon ships allowed?

A: Yes! OC x canon is very much welcome! So are crossover ships, crackships, and self-shipping!

Q: How about an appreciation day prompt, where you create something based on another person's work?

A: It's a cute idea, but I believe that's the premise of a minibang rather than a ship week. If you would like to do that with your friends, it's still welcome, but I will not be managing the organization for it.

There's never a dull moment in the ACOTAR fandom fr 💀. I've been in the fandom for like.. a measly 4 months (4 MONTHS!!) and the only thing I can do whenever new drama comes to light is laugh, I swear lmao 😂.

The most recent drama, Elain week. Oof...

Let's assume that Elain week would result in 300 fan works, whether they were fanarts or fanfics. I bet that not even 2% of those works (≈ 6 works) would be about Tamlin/Elain. The probability of 0 (zero) of them being about Beron/Elain would be 99.99999%. But look at what resulted from this "rule" that people wanted to implement in the name of "anti-abuse". The attention that you didn't wish to be given to Tamlin or Beron, ended up being given IN TRIPLE, will (most likely) be given during the week in question IN TRIPLE and it also generated the creation of new crackships such as Elain/Koschei. KOSCHEI!! Literally a death god and the biggest villain of the series at the moment.

This whole situation is crazy, I just have to laugh at it 😅. How do we want this fanbase to have less toxicity if we're always coming up with new reasons to generate anger and discord among us? Hell, let people draw what they want to draw, let people write what they want to write. You don't agree with what you might see or read during certain character's appreciation week? Go ahead and skip that content. Maybe don't host that event. But let's not pretend that you are creating a safe and inclusive space for ALL Elain lovers with Elain week when the rules of that same event automatically EXCLUDE certain people from it (Elain lovers included).

The time for censorship regarding freedom of expression/speech (because art is a form of expression) has long passed. You are not God to judge what is right and what is wrong. This is fiction! This need to be different and the desire to be morally superior to others does not always go well and I think that has been proven. Let's just try to control the damage now.

So the prompts are finally here on the 17th of May as promised!!! We wanted to create as much prompts as possible to give our girls the appreciative justice that they deserve so we extended Valkyrie week to 10 days instead of just 7.

I hope you all like these prompts as much as we do!!! And now onto what these prompts will mean for Valkyrie week:

Day 1: Training ⚔️

Training with Cassian and Azriel, was the beginning of a beautiful friendship between the girls. Nesta was the one to encourage both Gwyn and Emerie to join. After this, they train almost every day together.

Day 2: The Ribbon 🎀

In Valkyrie tradition, cutting a ribbon makes you an official Valkyrie warrior. We know this because of Gwyn's research on it. Gwyn becomes the very first Valkyrie reborn after cutting the ribbon. Then Emerie, then Nesta!!!

Day 3: The House ⛰️

The House became Nesta's first friend and was a crucial part in Nesta's healing journey and her eventual friendships with Gwyn and Emerie. This day will be dedicated to all the sleepovers the girls have together, while the House spoils them!!

Day 4: Friendship Bracelets ❤️‍🔥

The friendship bracelets became so important to their friendship. It was inspired by Gwyn who used to make bracelets with her sister Carin as a token of their love for each other. This is a healing experience for all.

Day 5: Pegasus 🪽

We know that in the acotar world, Valkyries used to ride a Pegasus into war. This will be a fun day where you can let your imagination go wild as the Valkyries ride a Pegasus together.

Day 6: Valkyries 🌌

The very day the girls cut the ribbon, Cassian and Azriel feel a powerful force watching over them all. Like it was waiting all this time for that particular moment. This is a reminder that the Valkyries are reborn, not just with Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn, but the rest of the priestesses too.

Day 7: The Blood Rite 🩸

The Blood Rite, was the biggest challenge and test to the Valkyries. During the rite, they told each others stories, showing their resilience, determination and also their love for each other no matter what. They overcame so many challenges during this time and came out on top, with 2 becoming Carynthians and one becoming an Oristian.

Day 8: Love Interests 💕

This will be a fun day dedicated to the love interests of the Valkyries. These can be love interests that are already together or crackships. Whatever your heart desires.

Day 9: Modern AU 🌃

This is just a fun day for all the Modern AU lovers out there to let yourself create something that shows the Valkyries in a modern like setting.

Day 10: Free Day ✨

Lastly, this day will be for you guys to decide what you all want to do. Let your imagination run freely and see what you all come up with!!!

Follow-up to last post, guess I have to explain Mike/Minoriko now.

So it all started when I gave myself a challenge: Make a crackship that I can still logically defend. As an avid KogaBanki fan I knew at least a little about how to defend my crackships. It eventually came down to a checklist. * Stage 1 bosses who are present in the same stage in HBM. * Both live near mountain(s). * Outfits both have warm colors (red and yellow for Minoriko, orange and brown for Mike). * Shoe haters. * Minoriko ain't wealthy and thus would probably appreciate having Mike's ability around to help her earn a comfier living. * Though Mike seems happy to be unemployed, she is a cat and would probably be willing to do things if food is involved, and Minoriko is known for her sweet potatoes. * And hey, maybe these two individuals who don't have much company (Minoriko just has her sister, who knows who Mike has) can build a cute little bond based on all that. And eventually I posted a super-short one-off for it as part of last year's Ship Week. That's the power of being dedicated to characters whose popularity is at a 5/10 at best.

Arya Multi-Shipping Event Vibe Check

Would anyone be interested in participating in an appreciation week or long weekend centered on Arya shipping? I was thinking of an event with multiple prompts leading up to Valentine's Day. It could include edits, fic, fanart, meta, videos, etc on any Arya ships whether canon (Gendrya, Jonrya, Nedrya, etc) or crackships (Arya/Tommen, Arya/Dany, Arya/Trystane, Arya/Aegon, etc). If you're hosting an event in regards to FICTION, then its not about you anymore. A lot of people who are doing elaingaye ship rhysta and they HATE rhysand.

I literally don't care. If I am hosting an event, what content I allow is up to me. If someone doesn't like it, they can host their own event. Nowhere in the rules of ethics or "hosting character weeks on tumblr" does it say you have to be inclusive to every kink, crackship, or headcanon under the sun.

It is up to the discretion of the person hosting the event to decide. The only time that would be an issue, is if I were to host an Elain event that only accepted Elucien, for example, and then I tried to ban everyone else from hosting their own Elriel or Elain x Tarquin event.

I don't see the issue. If I didn't like the content that comes out of Azriel appreciation week, or if they were banning Elriels... then I'd come up with my own Azriel appreciation week that does accept Elriels.

Literally nobody is stopping you from doing that so why are you still standing here claiming you're oppressed? You're not oppressed if you have full freedom to act how you want and you refuse to utilize it. It's not oppression if your "freedom of speech" is harmful to someone else's personal boundaries.

This is not in any which way or form, an official event. And in fact if it WERE an official event, do you really think SJM is going to sit up here and allow people to submit Elain x Beron and Elain x Tamlin art? Y'all don't even respect her writing or her opinions on these characters, why would you respect a character week hosted by her?

And if you wouldn't respect boundaries set by the author, the literal creator of this fictional work, then why would you stand here complaining that one random person with zero authority is hosting an Elain week where you feel excluded by not being able to submit kinky Tamberlain fan art?

Literally nobody is stopping you from tattooing that ship on your forehead, if you'd like. You sitting here screaming at a mod for not allowing certain ships they are against is not for freedom of speech. What are you protecting? Your right to be an asshole to someone under the guise of freedom to ship whatever fictional ship you want?

Get over it. I don't have any sympathy for your cries of false oppression about a fictional character nobody is preventing you from shipping. Go do your thing... just not in this person's backyard.

This switch-up on Tengen is giving me whiplash man...

I mean, I'm happy people are finally appreciating her as an actual character and are starting to see her influence on the story and I'm certainly stoked for the up tick in fanart (hope it last past the release of Vol 23), but it's just so weird to go from the fandom being like "ugly old man, stop taking up screentime" to "oh she's a woman?? who knew? not like she literally told us that. she's hot? suddenly I can recognize her as an actual character"

If you only like/are interested in Tengen when she's young and pretty, you're missing out. Have you seen her hands?! Also, ageing is her whole thing. It's literally her superpower. It's part of what makes her so interesting. And in terms of her relationship with Kenjaku, the older she gets, the more her body ages, the more appealing she becomes for them. This young appearance is like a slap in the face because she only looks like this for a few years after the merger, the thing Kenjaku dedicated 1000 years to preventing. Her looking like this means they failed.

I feel if you're gonna be in it for the old people yuri, you shouldn't exclude the "old" part of it. I mean, ultimately people can ship and enjoy a character however they want, I just want Tengen to get appreciation for who she really is (old, stubborn, dangerously disinterested and passive granny) and not just be the hot girl of the week.

I'm really looking forward to the exploration of their relationship and characters in the future. Like all the drama of how Kenjaku currently copes with having almost reached their goal and having lost Tengen (you're doing amazing honey, sitting all alone, talking to yourself). I'm stoked for their backstory too. I still believe they used to have a teacher-student relationship and to a degree still do (Tengen calls Kenjaku a child, they call her old like every other sentence). Just how they both contributed to jujutsu society existing the way it does is so fascinating.

YukiTen...now that's something I haven't thought about at all. I can see the potential with the vessel breaking away and defying her "destiny" thing, but honestly, to me it just feels like Yuki suffering through hanging out with her abusive, conservative grandma. Also, wouldn't this count as twincest? selfcest? Their relationship is certainly interesting and honestly nightmare fuel from Yuki's perspective. Is she just hearing constant whispers from the previous vessels? Screams? You could've gotten a lot more drama out of their interactions. Instead of muddy Choso, I would've been really interested in hearing how Yuki feels about fighting and dying for the person she was made to submit her body and soul to. She managed to keep her personhood, but ultimately still died for Tengen's sake. Pointlessly. Honestly, her death ended up being not so different from Riko's aside from the fact that she chose it. Even if she won, would protecting Tengen really feel that much better? She's basically fighting to perpetuate the system she technically wants to dismantle.

Anyway, I have a lot of thoughts about the two, but I don't ship them.
