#absolutely LOSING it over this in case you were wondering #i don't think laudna means this in the way that i am positive vex takes it and how delicious is that!! #and how perfectly did matt play this #because i don't think vex's insecurities ever really went away #but vex is a lady and a legend and she's loved by her friends and family #her life is good and those anxieties are softer and quieter these days #they're more a part of who she was than who she is #and so they're not on her radar in this moment when all of her focus is on what happened with laudna and the memory of delilah #so for laudna to say this OF ALL THINGS?? what a gut punch #(a gut punch i am confident marisha knowingly chose to throw - she wields laudna like the best of narrative knives) #how much worse did vex's guilt get in this moment #knowing that laudna wasn't just her lookalike - that she and laudna shared something more something deeper #believing that laudna knew that same longing that same drive that vex had to make herself seem more put together and elegant and deserving of recognition #that same urge to mold herself into who she thought she was supposed to be #to avoid judgement #that laudna experienced the same kind of outsider loneliness that so strongly impacted vex's childhood and more #and so vex takes her moment of surprise that she's become the woman that felt so far away for so long #and then her moment of understanding and sorrow for laudna who is unexpectedly so much like herself #and she remembers her husband's words from so long ago and the truth of what did earn her that respect #her friends her conviction her heart #and she passes that sentiment on to bell's hells #when i dreamed of vm in subsequent campaigns #honestly? this is exactly what i hoped for
