just watched "A bard's lament" for the first time in the entirety (i had seen some bits and pieces before) and holy shit. what an emotional rollercoaster. knowing what the story was leading to, i couldn't help but feel annoyed by other characters' behaviour towards Scanlan in a previous few episodes - the way they weren't taking him seriously until the very moment of his death and then again, pulled a prank in him literally the moment he got resurrected. or how he kept telling them that he CAN'T die because he had made a promise to Kaylie and still, they ignored this completely. not that the other members of Vox Machina weren't right - he's always been shrugging off any of their attempts to express concern about him. but honestly, that's what makes this whole situation even more interesting and heartbreaking - both sides were partially right. gosh what an amazing piece of storytelling by Sam, Mr. I'll-Play-The-Worst-Character. and pulling out new character sheet like twenty minutes later lol, i absolutely loved everyone's reaction, they really did not see that coming

It is unfortunate how sometimes my dislike of a canon ship can ruin my enjoyment of something. Like usually i’m chill and don’t mind if my ship is not canon, but if a ship i really DON’T like IS canon then it can really lose my interest in something

officially finished crc1 & all the vox machina one shots last night... gonna have to write out some opinions eventually but rn i'm considering what to watch next... i was gonna start my dipping my toes into d20 with a court of fey and flowers bc it's very much my speed but i didn't realize u have to pay and subscribe to their website to view that content 😢 so i think i'll check out exu since i've heard amazing things about calamity... then idk if i want to start crc3 or revisit fantasy high... much to consider
