Food! Headcanon Smoke (Tomas Vrbada)
Just some food headcanons that have been "stewing" in my head for our Friendly Neighborhood Wholesoome Sidekick!
Rated: PG-13, mentions of alcohol and "Sex on a Beach" drink
Words: 932
-As an Earth Realm Protector, Tomas had been billeted by different hosts from all over our world during various missions that take place in different parts of the world.
-Tomas is always appreciative of homecooked meals prepared by his billet hosts because he understands that it takes valuable resources, time and effort, especially if it is evident that the billet family is poor. There’s nothing more delicious than a homecooked meal made with love.
-He eats a lot of vegetables and loves them! Tomas appreciates vegetables prepared in different ways: salads, roasted vegetables, pureed as a soup, battered and fried, as snacks, you name it. Authentic Mexican tortillas and nachos with a lot of salsa with juicy chunks of tomatoes, bring on the vitamin C!
-Tomas also eats a lot of fruits, his favourite ones being apples, oranges, grapes, stone fruits, pineapple, mangoes, and any fruits that are both sweet and tart, especially if crunchy. He doesn’t mind bananas, melons, berries and local fruits from different countries and will eat them when offered.
-Tomas doesn’t mind smoothies, but doesn’t normally consume this, since they weren’t available during his time in the Lin Kuei, and currently in the Shirai Ryu.
-Tomas’ favorite thing to eat is stew. It reminds him of his childhood days as a hunter, as his mother often cooked stews for him and his sister. Got a pot roast in the slow cooker, he’s game! Make sure that there are a ton of veggies in that Crockpot, and he’ll appreciate that. Happen to have a large Dutch oven of Osso Bucco in the oven, he’s inwardly drooling and counting the minutes until he can get his mitts on a bowlful of that tender beef shank on top of creamy polenta and topped with gremolata! Got some chicken or pork adobo and rice, he’ll take seconds! Got a big bowl of Caldo de Res (yes, I know it’s a soup), it’s gone in no time. In a mood for some comfort food, he’ll gladly accept a bowl of scouse made with lamb. Got butter chicken on coconut rice, yes, please! :D
-If a billet host can or is well off, Tomas loves being treated to different restaurants. If a billet host has recommendations and is enthusiastic to take him to a popular spot, Tomas is always happy and appreciative to go with. From a popular hole-in-a-wall noodle shop to a lively gastropub on a game night to a Michelin Star restaurant in an upscale part of downtown, he loves being exposed to different culinary experiences. Tomas always has a great time bonding with his billet families this way, and they always enjoy hearing about his stories and adventures.
-Tomas won’t eat anything that isn’t well-cooked or under cooked, not out of rudeness but for his own safety. If there is anything that is pungent in a bad way, he’ll try it once in small quantities, but that’s it. If an animal that is being butchered is illegally acquired and slaughtered in an inhumane way, Tomas wants nothing to do with it.
-It only takes only a few occurrences for Tomas to learn to have a sack of snacks or MRE’s, courtesy of Johnny Cage’s connection with the US army.
-Just because Tomas must keep a certain physique doesn’t mean that he can’t enjoy any foods and beverages that are “less” healthy. Having been to different parts of the world has made him acquainted to the popular fun foods. If he’s in Canada, he must have some poutine with those squeaky cheese curds! If he’s in the Southern US, bring on the fried chicken with biscuits and gravy! If he’s in a Southeast Asian country, the street food offers a ton of options: try the fish balls on sticks, various fresh seafood cooked fresh, and shaved ice desserts, to name a few! If he’s in the Middle East or in the Balkan region, Baklava is a must!
-Tomas can generally hold his liquor and knows his limits. His alcoholic beverage of choice is beer, specifically the beloved pilsner. It must be the Czech in him or the fact that men can generally metabolize alcohol faster, or both, that he’s able to put away a lot of beer. In fact, Tomas is one of the few that can out drink most of the Earth Realm protectors.
-If Tomas is offered wine or Prosecco with some dinners, he will accept 2-3 glasses. He rarely drinks hard liquor, but if with a culture where it is customary and polite to accept a drink from a billet host, he will. He’s had quite a few tequila shots in his life.
-At one point, Tomas had been curious about Jello Shots at one point. Tomas enjoys them if he’s with younger members of billet families that offer them, especially when he can enjoy the more adventurous drinks like Sex on a Beach, Long Island, AMF (Ooof!), Ceasar, and other creative concoctions with no names. Tomas has also taken a liking to Baileys, by itself or in hot chocolate.
-Tomas has a sweet tooth. Ice cream, gelato, and popsicles are consumed in large quantities. He likes mini fruit tarts and cakes in general, especially Japanese sponge cakes with strawberries and light whipped icing. Anything matcha will always be welcomed, be it as tea, in cakes, ice creams, and anything creatively sweet.
-Tomas loves chocolate bars and protein bars. He also loves cookies and Nutella on fresh bannock. Have options of snacks in a basket, and that completes his billeting experience with you :D

What the Kids from South Park Order at Mexican Restaurants
Stan
Loves a good sizzling Fajita
Like the ones where it’s served to the customer while it’s still steaming.
He likes to eat that with rice and a tortilla
And he gets super annoyed when people oggle over his food and ask him for some especially when they first bring it out.
Kyle
Saw birria tacos on TikTok once and never stopped ordering them since
But before then he ordered a burrito of any kind.
Then gets guacamole as an appetizer
One time he got so hungry he ate a burrito that had piping hot queso cheese drizzled on top of it with his bare hands like a regular burrito and everyone just sat there in awe.
Kenny
erm.
a glass of water?
JK JK IM SORRY
He’s usually eating on someone else’s bill and he’ll get something cheap like a chicken taco kids meal
Let’s just say he’s acquired money from God knows where. He’d get a combo that comes with a taco, a burrito, and an enchilada
Cartman
One of everything.
JK JK I HAVE JOKES
He’d get what Kenny wants to have (the taco burrito and enchilada combo) with a side of kids meal french fries to substitute the usual rice and beans.
It’s funny to him because he knows how much Kenny would love to have the meal but can’t afford it. He gets a delicious meal and a laugh.
Butters
Hmmm I think my boy will be having a burrito bowl with chicken. Plenty of avocados and corn and lettuce. No tomatoes.
Either that or three shrimp tacos.
Whatever he orders he splits with Kenny. Like if he orders a bowl, half of it goes to Kenny. If he orders the tacos, he’ll have one, Kenny’ll have one, and they both split the third.
Always gets a virgin pina colada margarita!
Craig
Okay so he only gets one of two things
He either gets carne asada with rice and beans, or he gets pollo loco (chicken and queso on a bed of rice. AKA the SouthieParkie Meal)
If he’s feeling extra boujie he’ll get a spicy pepper soup for an appetizer.
He also gets sopapillas after every meal.
Tweek
Chicken Tacos. Always.
And he also gets a cup of chili con queso as an appetizer.
And he shares it with Craig :)
Also enjoys fried ice cream! It freaks him out though because he has absolutely no idea how they fry it but it stays. Ice creamy? Yk??
Clyde
Steak burrito always!
Though if he even SMELLS a tomato in it he will break down.
Not literally but like he hates tomatoes just know that.
Also he likes to stay far away from seafood options. He likes to be extra cautious in case of any shellfishness radiating from the food.
Jimmy
Hmmm I think he’s a loaded nachos kinda guy.
Either that or will order fish tacos solely to make the fish dicks joke all night.
Also prefers black beans over refried beans.
Tolkien
Birria tacos!!!
Either that or a regular chicken taco with loaded papas fritas.
And he also gets chili con queso with extra jalapeños and it freaks Tweek out beyond belief.
Like Tweek is on the verge of tears after one while Tolkien eats like eight and doesn’t move a muscle.

Hey! I saw your post on how to get 10 whole meals out of 1 roast chicken…which, amazing, congrats! Did you possibly have any tips to share about how you do that? Just really want to cut down on my food and packaging waste. Thank you so much!
Hi! Obviously to get five meals for 2 people (or 10 meals for one; 10 meals either way) these meals aren't going to be very meat-heavy; however, here are some ideas that i personally use frequently!
enjoy the chicken thighs when you roast the chicken! personally, i always have trouble repurposing chicken thighs, so eating them when the chicken is roasted is a good way for me to reduce waste! if you have another part of the chicken you have trouble finding a way to use, try eating that part first, when it's the freshest and maybe the tastiest.
make chicken pot pie with the drumstick and wings meat! dark meat is harder for me to use (due to sensory issues) but i've found using it in a creamy dish where the texture isn't as prominent is easier for me to eat. you could also use it in a hearty tortilla soup or chicken alfredo pasta.
make chicken salad with a chicken breast! i personally have a chinese chicken salad (basically, 凉拌黄瓜) that's delicious over rice but you could also make western chicken salad (mayo-based) and have it on toast or as a sandwich. Bulking up the chicken with some veggies or fruits (like cucumbers, grapes or celery) is a great way to stretch the meat too.
make enchiladas with the other chicken breast! i personally always have leftover tortillas, and buying a can of enchilada sauce is pretty easy, although i sometimes make my own. you can also add beans, peppers and onions to bulk up the filling.
make soup with the chicken carcass and any bits you picked off of it or that came off while it was simmering. There might not be much meat left at this point, but the stock provides flavor (and nutritious stuff like collagen!) and you can bulk up the protein with beans or chickpea pasta or even just enjoy a light soup with vegetables and hopefully some crusty bread!
You can also get creative-- you can add chicken meat to stews, soups (obviously), use it for sandwich fillings, pastas, salads etc. The big part for me is figuring out how to break it down and how to use which parts for what. feel free to be creative-- this is just how i prefer to break a chicken down! anyways good luck! :)

Ik u don’t care but every time I reread ur au I get to the part where emmet tries to imitate ingo and I’m just 🤔 does it count as masking if ur copying another nd person? 🤔
now hold on, whoever said i wouldn't care?? :(
i love when people have things to say!! i just have.... QUITE a bit in my inbox so i can't answer everything. so if i don't answer an ask, It's Literally Not Personal i just have Too Many. (that being said DONT be hesitant to send in asks! i still really appreciate Getting Them even if i never get around to answering them!!!)
as for your actual question.
UH. probably hfkdhd. considering in this scenario if you're copying someone who's masking you're... copying their masking. therefore,
also if they're masking similar/same traits that you have it'd DEFINITELY count i think.
(you could argue that it's not REALLY masking, rather something akin to playing a character for some kind of production. but like. masking is Different. and also In My Experience, when you play a character you Get Into That Character at least a little bit. so.)
Tumblr media
bake d, potato. real dense and creamy and cheesy. bonus points for bacon
tHAT or something like chicken tortilla soup
basically i like the denser/thicker soups. i actually Don't Like Soup That Much. especially broth-y/thin soups. i just Cannot Stand Them. but some of the thicker soups. ough. that's The Good Stuff. (and then you take it another step and get into stuff like stew or chili and at that point it's just. MMMM)

Finally taking a Vacation from work. Looking for to 7 full days of R&R.

Slightly exhausted from out-of-whack sleep schedule and long days. Hoping to catch up on sleep.

For easy, cheap meals my go-tos are usually:
- Breakfast burritos (you can keep tortillas in the freezer/fridge, salsa, sour cream, cheese, eggs however you like, if you have extra lunch meat or leftover meat it can be thrown in)
- Tuna rice bowls (canned tuna with a little mayo, rice, I usually keep frozen edamame in the freezer, if you have furikake or seaweed snacks those are nice to top with, sriracha)
- Basically lunchables (crackers of choice, cheese, lunch meat if I have it, any fruit I have on hand but honestly grapes and apples are my favorite with the cheese)
- In college I used to keep a jar of pesto on hand and whenever I made pasta would just finish it in a pan with pesto, cheese, and milk to make a creamy pesto sauce
Whenever I do have like a really good weekend day or burst of energy, I try to make something that I know will last me a few days or will freeze well (like jambalaya, an easy soup from scratch, etc). I’m not the biggest fan of slow cooker recipes but honestly they’re often low effort and I will make some every now and then to save energy!
Thanks a lot, anon! I'll keep all of those in mind--I actually just bought some tortillas earlier today for chicken quesadillas so burritos are certainly another option!

Okay- things have calmed down enough with the puppy that I can cook again, and tonight I made perhaps the best chili I have ever made.
Creamy Keto White Chicken Chili.
Now, I’m not doing keto but I am doing low carb for my blood sugar management, and I like making chili anyway because it’s “naturally” low carb. The fact that I tend to eat traditional red chili as a dip for tortilla chips however….
But this- it was more like a soup than a stew, but it tasted like queso blanco nacho cheese. Y’all. I got out a piece of bread *untoasted* to sop this up and I hate mushy bread. (I have a loaf of whole wheat and it tends toward the gummy side)
It was easy, too. Came together in about 30 minutes, including the prep work.
Here’s the recipie. I followed it pretty closely, choosing all the optional ingredients. The main difference is that I had 1.25lb of chicken and a 7oz can of chiles. Oh, and I used a red onion because that’s what I had.
