HELLO!! Here are my updated commission prices for the new year! I'll be working with 4-6 slots per month at a time, and have added an option to submit your idea to me by google form, if you prefer to do that.

I'm offering full-body sketches for a reduced price as a bit of an experiment! I have a lot of fun sketching, and wanted to include a lower-budget option. I also want to try offering discounts on coloured full-body illustrations, if a sketch is resubmitted to me later in the year.

Payment via PayPal invoice, in Canadian dollars. (PayPal handles the currency conversion, and the processing fees are incurred by me, not you.)

Full payment is due after you have seen, offered feedback on, and approved of a rough composition sketch. You can request milestone updates as I work.

Blood/injury, body horror, nudity, pinup/suggestive (nudity or no), are all OK and I’m happy to discuss subject matter in DMs if you’re unsure! (media tags on this blog are a good reference for what I am willing to draw. BG3 is a fair reference point!)

Hey you got an advices for a newbie who thinks about doing commissions? :>

And did you have any bad experiences? (You don't have to answer if it is too private)

I won't go into detail for any bad commission experiences, but I can at least tell you what I learned from em in the form of the advice you asked for:

PRICING! When figuring out pricing, ask yourself the following:

What is an hour of my work worth? This question helps you avoid underselling yourself aka selling under minimum wage. You're definitely worth more than that. $20 is a pretty good starting point for folks who aren't too confident in their own stuff.

How long does it take to complete an art piece? Create one sample of every type of commission you want to sell. Time yourself when you make them. Whatever amount of time it takes to create each piece multiplied by the hourly wage you've set for yourself is going to be your base price for each thing ($20 x 2 hours for a full body sketch = $40). You can also use the samples you've made to help advertise in your commission post and show your potential clients what it is they can expect from you!

How should I charge for add-ons? Once again, figure how long something takes, and shoot for something that seems both fair for you and the client. For extra characters or something like a background, for example, I charge an extra 50% of the base price.

PROBLEMATIC CLIENTS! Got a client that doesn't know what they actually want? Too wishy washy? Too nitpicky? There's a solution! Offer a limited amount of revisions. I offer two free ones, personally. Once the client is out of revisions, I charge them 20% for each additional revision, and I MAKE SURE THEY CAN SEE THAT ON THE FORM THEY FILL OUT. That way, clients are encouraged to get their WHOLE idea in order before going to you. No one wants to be charged extra for a mistake they made, after all -- And it's definitely their mistake if they leave out any details they later deem important and want you to fix.

THE AFOREMENTIONED FORM TO BE FILLED! I used Google Forms, personally. It makes your little business look a bit more professional AND it helps you keep track of multiple projects at once, while prompting the clients to give you the info you specifically need (like reference images). It's good!

BE PROFESSIONAL! You're more likely to get repeat customers if you maintain a professional customer service attitude while handling clients, and deliver your work as promptly as you can. Delivering work PROMPTLY is definitely something you need to imagine me circling and underlining. Please do your best to not take, like, a year? To complete a commission? It's a really bad look. Treat it like homework. Give yourself your own little due date to work with.

While we're on that! DEFINITELY send your clients WIPs while you work! Showing that you're making progress is a great way to get feedback from the client before it's too late to change anything, PLUS it keeps their mind at ease about the possibility of you potentially taking their money and running.

KEEP YOURSELF SAFE! Speaking of taking money and running, set up a system that works when it comes to charging clients and delivering the goods. I have been burned in the past and have learned from this. Some artists charge their clients upfront before delivering anything at all. Personally, I'm not a fan of this, because then it leaves the client open to feeling uneasy about possibly getting scammed. Obviously I'm not a scammer, but to lift the weight of that possibility on the minds of my clients, I charge half upfront and half upon completion. This way, I already have SOME money so the client isn't gonna "dine-and-dash" me, and the client, likewise, is holding the other half of the pay in a friendly self-imposed hostage situation. I do recommend this!

I also use Paypal to INVOICE my clients. This way, I have full control over the nature of what I'm charging and can avoid the client accidentally (or maliciously) sending a payment with something in there meant to get my Paypal account shut down. DO NOT WRITE JOKES ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE CHARGING YOUR CLIENT FOR. DO NOT GET YOURSELF IN TROUBLE FOR SOMETHING STUPID.

Information on Artist.

I started my plush work in 2013. I have worked hard on developing my style and process over the years. I create my embroidery and patterns from scratch, so everything I make is one of a kind. I do not sell my patterns because they are not normal and only I can understand how they come together. I live in West Virginia, USA. I can ship all over the country and internationally. I live in a dog, bird, and reptile friendly home. I love anime/manga, superhero movies/tv/comics, horror movies, animals, art, and making plushies.

My Plush Work

I work with minky fabric since it’s the highest quality I can use to make my work the best quality possible. I can also use faux furs, long pile minky, mochi fabric, fleece, and cotton if needed (or requested). I use upholstery thread when sewing my plush together. The thread is incredibly strong and the chances of pieces coming apart are very low. If they do come apart (very uncommon), just message me and I will fix and reinforce the piece.

My work is considered “art”, not factory produced for the general public. This means that they are unique and special, but it also means they are not really meant to be handled roughly, crushed, and/or given to very small children. They are pretty durable since they are plush, but any material can wear over time when they are over “loved” (lol). Taking them on adventures, and carrying them around is totally welcomed, just please go easy on the tug and pull <3

Ordering a Plush

Please feel free to reach out to me through Twitter (X), Tumblr, Instagram, or Facebook. I do my best to answer as soon as possible, but you are welcome to message again in case I have not replied after a few days. (I can get busy with the Plush Business, my full-time job, and taking care of my pets.)

Let me know what you are looking to have made. (I can make humans, animals, creatures, cars, robots etc.) Let me know what size and style you are thinking of and if there is a certain time you would like to have it made by. (It normally takes about 2-4 weeks, it depends on if I need to order anything specific.) Please provide images if possible (if you want something unique and only have a description, I can do a rough concept of the character for you, or if you would like to commission me to do art of the character, please feel free to request it). Once I have this information, I will give you a price quote. The quote will only be for the plush, this will not include the shipping or taxes. If you agree to the price, I will request an email from you and will send an invoice. It will list all the details for the transaction, including shipping and tax. The invoice is through PayPal Goods and Services, so we are both protected.

Once the payment is made, you are added to the queue. Before I start on the plush, I will create a concept for it. In this stage (and only in this stage) you are welcome to make any updates to the design. (For example: preferring a different color, wanting the eyes to be bigger, not wanting a certain part included etc.) I will do my best to get as close to the concept as possible. It will never be exact, but I do normally get really close. After the concept is finished, I will share fabric colors to ensure they are right.

Once everything is approved, I will create the pattern and embroidery files. Next, I will embroider the fabric and cut out the pattern. Finally, I will sew the plush together and share the final plush in our communication. I will need you to share the preferred name and address for the shipment. Once this information is provided, I will pack up the plush and send it out. I will provide the tracking when it is on its way.

Shipping the Plush

My standard shipping is first-class and using a waterproof bubble mailer envelope. This keeps the shipping as low as possible. ($7 within the US, $25 International)

For 2025, I am offering priority and over-night shipping (overnight only available in US). I am also offering the option to ship within a box instead of a bubble mailer. These options will be much higher prices and can be discussed while setting up the commission.

Please note, once I ship a plush and provide a tracking number. It is out of my hands.

Canceling a Commission

You have 1 week after ordering to cancel a commission. If I ordered materials for the project, it will be deducted from the total.

If a plush is not correct (and it is due to my mistake), I can grant a full refund. Unless I am able to fix the issue. The mistake would be due to me not using the correct color fabric, missing an important detail from the concept etc. Just not liking a plush or deciding you don’t want to pay for a plush once it is made are not valid reasons. I have various examples of my work and before commissioning me, please review my pages to make sure you like my style and quality.

Final Note

I am more than happy to work with someone to make a plush they can afford and love. Since all of my plush are custom and I make all the patterns and embroidery, I can make adjustments easily. For example, I can make the plush smaller and contain less details. I will be happy to explain what parts are causing the higher price and we can work out other options. I believe PayPal has options to make multiple payments too, so I can still get full payment and you wont need to pay in full right away.

Payment

Payment is taken either through PayPal or Ko-fi. If through PayPal, then an invoice will be emailed to you. If through Ko-fi, then you take a commission ticket with the appropriate selections made.

My process for payment in exchange for the art goes that we chat for a little bit about the piece you'd like me to create (feel free to show pinterest boards/playlists/other art/moodboards of the character), and I draw up drafts based on this chat. Upon agreement of a final draft, you pay the full amount of the commission. I then finish the commission and send it to you via your preferred communications path (eg. email, DM).

Character Art

Typical digital art commission, this time divided into two styles.

Style 1: Black and White, with an accent colour such as red or blue.

Bust - £35

Half-body (typically above knee) - £45

Full-body - £55

With both styles, included in the price is a solid-colour background + foreground, as well as held accessories and/or equipment, within reason. Simple text can be included. Transparent backgrounds also possible.

For both styles, I'm happy to include an animal/simple non-humanoid (such as a slugcat) companion for £15, and additional humanoid or complex non-humanoids (such as a large/detailed dragon) for £30/£40/£50 depending on if they're a bust/half-body/full-body.

We chat about the character (including their story, colour palette, vibes, etc.) and what kind of magazine inspiration will be taken from. We will discuss the text and other elements included in the cover, and what the character themself would be wearing/posed/how much of them is seen.

Flat rate of £100

Similar to the faux magazine covers, involves us chatting about the character to get an idea of what to include within the sheet.

Combinations for size includes: 2x Bust + 1x Full-body, 1x Half-body + 1x Full-body (different pose, different clothing), and 2x Full-body (same pose, different clothing). We can discuss variations on this, but can incur additional charges to make up for extra effort.

Included in this price is text (eg. name, pronouns, height, nationality, descriptors, stats, small abstract), colour reference, a solid-colour background and foreground (can be divided up into different panels), and additional details such as an important accessory, or tattoos.

The Clima-tact

Yes, Nami absolutely maximized Usopp's invention, adding her own weather combos and battle-ready tweaks with impressive smarts and creativity. But let's not forget that it was Usopp who crafted the Climatact in the first place, and he’s the one constantly upgrading it—free of charge, might I add. If the roles were reversed, you can bet Nami would have an invoice ready. Usopp even enhanced it before Whole Cake Island, which directly contributed to her MVP status in that arc.

I don't mean to sound critical, but when some Nami fans downplay Usopp's role in creating the Climatact, it's like saying Steve Jobs didn’t make the iPhone. Sure, a smartphone is only as smart as its user, but without Usopp—our very own Steve Jobs—there wouldn’t be a Climatact to trick out in the first place. So, yes, Usopp is the genius behind the hardware, and Nami’s the savvy user who downloaded every app and just upgraded to the iCloud storage plan.

Let's not forget that the Climatact isn't just any pole staff. Usopp's craftsmanship is what makes it unique, tailored specifically to maximize Nami's abilities. If she could achieve the same results with any ordinary staff, then her contribution wouldn't be as impressive. But the fact is, she can't—her abilities are amplified because of the specialized weapon Usopp designed and continues to upgrade.

Also, it’s important to remember that Nami’s weather techniques rely heavily on combining elements like water and other components. She can't do that without the Climatact’s unique features. Usopp didn’t just give her a standard weapon—he provided a tool that enables her to manipulate the weather in ways that would be impossible otherwise. His ingenuity is what makes her techniques feasible. So, without the Climatact, Nami wouldn’t have the same level of versatility and power in battle.

It’s kind of like finding the right blender. You can have all the ingredients, but if you don’t have the right blender, it just doesn’t work. The Climatact is that specialized tool for Nami. Without it, she wouldn’t be able to combine elements like water and lightning to create her powerful weather attacks. Usopp didn’t just hand her any old staff—he gave her the perfect “blender” that allows her to mix and match elements in ways that make her a force to be reckoned with. His craftsmanship is what makes her abilities possible.

Downplaying Usopp's role undermines the significance of his genius. Without his foundational work, there wouldn’t be a Climatact for Nami to trick out in the first place. Both their contributions are vital, but Usopp's craftsmanship is the cornerstone of Nami's success.

Let's give credit where it's due.

We are looking for art for this year’s IFComp logo! We will pay a $250 commission.

Artists should express interest by sending us a link to their past work/portfolio via email: ifcomp@ifcomp.org by July 15; the artist will be selected by the end of July.

We will request one rough draft for review / edit before the final logo is produced.

We must have the final art in hand by August 25th.

We will need three versions of the logo: one with no text, one that says ‘IFComp’, and one that says ‘IFComp 2024’.

The final image file will be created or scanned at 3600 x 3600 px, and the design should still be clearly legible when reduced for display at 250 x 250 px for the web.

If you incorporate a person (optional) we ask that you make the person’s gender ambiguous.

We ask that you integrate the IFTF logo into the art in some way.

The IFComp logo should imply / be inspired by the many genres of games people make.

We will also request an invoice from the artist that the includes the following terms:

The Interactive Fiction Technology Foundation has the right to use the image in whole or in part, in world-wide publishing, print, or on any merchandise for an unlimited time. Chapter 1

He preferred human mates like the wife he had back home, but as they agreed, he was free to do as he pleased on said trips. Sometimes trips kept him away for months at a time and with the call of the moon as well as his dominant nature, Casual sex while he was away didn't bother her much. The only rules were he wasn't allowed to get anyone pregnant, Talk about them, or fall in love and as long as he returned to her, there were never any hard feelings. Easy.

So when he and the crew he was over arrived at _ Brothel, Tim didn't turn down the _ who greeted him immediately with offerings of a warm welcome and release if tension from a long journey.

Edith the owner shooed him off. "Go we will talk rooms after." and laughed as he willfully let himself be dragged off.

He deflated slightly but chuckled as he leaned back and watched her write down 5 rooms and then peeked back up at him expectantly.. "We will be paying for 4 months. That's our deadline but we may be out earlier."

"I don't give refunds."

"my prices have also went up to accommodate changes."

"Come on, we're doing you a favor too Eddie."

"Average men!" Her teeth snapped together." but she scratched out the original price she had and put a more reasonable one down. "there are rules. I will discuss them over dinner with the others."

Tim Nodded. "Yes I know."

"Early Dinner will be held at 7:30 in the Peacock Hall! Late Dinner is at 9 in the crimson den. As you are well aware that one is much more...spicier. You're free to roam all the halls respectfully since you are temporarily our protector as well. Court yards are open as well. Not every worker is a consort. You will be charged for every on duty client you partake with. how ever any off duty consort is free to do as she or he pleases."

"I'm well aware."

"you maybe but the newbies aren't."

"and yet It just me and you standing here love." He soften his voice as he leaned in to place a kiss on her cheek lingering for a moment. "Shame you don't wanna ride...we had some good times."

"Shoo!" She hissed. "Come back and pay after dinner." and thew a key at him with a room number. "your usual room. it's been upgraded since you been here last but should still be to your liking."

"Thanks Eddie!" He said as he rounded to the next room that had red and royal purple lace privacy screens on a few rooms.

"Wolves! Dinner 7:30 peacock room don't be late." He ordered as he walked past them and over to the stairs so he could seek out his room.

"Sure thing boss" One grunted.

His things were already sitting beside the closet when he entered the room as he had many times before. It felt oddly like a second home even though he'd only been there a few times. Some for pleasure and others business.

Although upgraded, the room was still warmly lit and held the same comforts as before. It housed a costume bed that lined the wall almost like a nook with the big window that overlooked the front of the place. It helped not to feel trapped when he could see out front and the view wasn't so bad either.

To the left of him was a huge bathroom that had I huge tube as well as a separate shower..it size bigger now, made to have company just like everywhere else that had received renovations.

A knock sounded just as he finished walking the room. He knew it wouldn't be long before someone was sent up to accompany him.

"Edith sent me up with some refreshments and linens." A soft voice spoke from behind the door.

"Come in."

A pleasantly plump woman with sable waist length hair dressed in very revealing emerald silks came in with a cart that had a variety of snacks, ales, and fresh sheets on it. Grabbing the sheets, she placed them on the end of the bed. "These just came off the court yard hooks so they should be nice and fresh."

"Thank you." He watched as she moved with practice grace that was meant to command the attention of the clients and tempt them to partake. Like parading a forbidden fruit around. It was also a trick that was used to throw around scents. He inhaled using his senses to smell past the oils she wore to find that she was human. She also hadn't been touched by anyone else today.

Of course, Edith would send him ?what she knew he would like...Thinking about it she even favored the women slightly as well but there was no relation her scent told him.

"Anything else I can do for you?" She asked in a hopeful tone as she stood straight up and smiled at him. Her breast rising and falling as her excitement became more apparent. The scent of her arousal permitting the air.
