hoshina soshiro is very she-fell-first-but-he-fell-harder trope coded.
i think we can reach a consensus here that hoshina is not difficult to like and in this case, to romantically have feelings for - one way or the other i think the officers of the third division harbor some form of admiration for the guy. and you are no exception.
but hoshina did not get recruited as a defense officer to fall in love. he doesn't mind that people develop a crush on him, but when he started noticing you being a bit weird and awkward around him, he gets slightly annoyed. he's the vice-captain and he needs all of his subordinates to be thinking straight around him. he cannot deny you are one of, if not the best, in your batch - you can even get promoted to platoon leader if you want to. hoshina doesn't want your potential to be dampened by your infatuation, so he tells you to stop feeling whatever feeling you have towards him. "is that an order from my vice-captain?" you asked. he gave a one-word reply to you in a firm tone, "yes, it is".
he drove himself crazy the next days and weeks because you did not only follow his instruction, you also went above and beyond by completely avoiding him like he carries the plague. this says a lot considering it's hard to hide from a man who leads the training sessions you are supposed to attend. time passed, and he learned to miss your presence - he started to reminisce about how different it is when you were a constant inclusion in his everyday life, and how dull things are for him now that you have effectively ghosted him.
but you weren't really gone - you are a third division defense officer so you are still beholden to your sworn duties and obligations to protect your country from kaiju threats. but in an attempt to neutralise a kaiju one time, you have hurt yourself - injured to the point that even vice-captain hoshina soshiro himself got scared he was going to lose you.
"don't get attached to any of your teammates," is something he would tell the new recruits during their initiation as members of the division. hoshina soshiro wished he could have listened to himself.
when you regained your consciousness at the hospital, hoshina was the first person you laid your eyes on. he's fallen asleep while sitting uncomfortably in a chair beside your bed, his hand holding yours, your fingers intertwined with his.

I want to write a fic about Alastor teaching the Reader how to take care of her natural hair but there's no way I can write that fic without basically almost outright saying Reader is or is not a certain race or has a specific hair texture but, I've been learning more on how to take care of my natural hair and, it's just been a very intimate personal process with even a little bit of trauma involved and I keep thinking of Alastor as a comfort character for it, oddly enough
There's some big shenanigans where you get splashed and get wet and Alastor notices your hair starting to get a little bit of a curl to it but you just huff and start brushing it out, not reacting as there's the sounds of your hair literally ripping as the brush tears through tangles. Over time he realizes your hair always looks very, off, brushed out, flat, damaged, just, not right. You never DO anything with it besides brush it and put it up either
Can you even imagine he does the thing where he transforms everyone's outfits and you catch your reflection and you're turning to him, "why did you style my hair like this?" And he's just genuinely like "???? That's just your natural hair???" And gives you this very, 'oh honey' look as you turn back to your reflection and are staring at yourself like you're seeing a completely different person, clearly confused by your own hair looking as it's supposed to
So many curly and wavy hair products smell so good too... the coconut oil, jojoba, shea butter, some of these deep conditioners and hair masks are just 🤌 smells so good, and the intimacy of him washing your hair, combing his fingers through it, nails gently grazing your scalp, styling your hair around a brush as he tells you of how his mother once taught him to take care of his hair. did you not have anyone? No? Shame, but at least you have him now
Alastor becoming very attached to you after this whole thing and the end result is that he has you eventually sleeping beside him, satin pillowcase hair covering and all. He won't even take you to a hairstylist anymore; he prefers doing your hair completely by himself, does not want anyone touching your precious head, and Lucifer help you if you ever get mad at him and get a haircut. You'll spend the next several years of being dead dealing with him giving you nightly scalp massages with rosemary oil until you've grown every inch back

it's no hidden fact that cricket unites us all so much more beautifully than probably any other sport, i dont why that is but it just is. there's a different kind of thrum in our veins, an excited pumping of our blood for any match that team india plays and that just shows how utterly gorgeous this sport is.
im all for india winning any tournament (i woke up at 4.30 in the morning in 2021 to watch neeraj chopra's qualifying round in tokyo olympics) but cricket, men in blue, ict hits different
