I think I need more attention drawn to Emily & Penelope’s time of split-custody with Sergio and just more talk about Sergio in general, he needed more screen time.

Dr. Spencer Reid appreciation post!
fisrt post of the year, YAY!!!!!! :D
so, I've been watching LOTS of Criminal Minds these days, and felt like sharing something we (yes, we, my fellow Reid kinnie/simp) have in common: our love for the young, autistic genious Spencer Reid.
this man. he is way too marvelous to be hated by any human being, EVER.
for the ones who don't know him: Spencer Reid, mostly known as Dr. Spencer Reid, is an autistic borderline schizophrenic with an 187 IQ, eidetic memory, and the ability of reading 20.000 words per minute, if I'm not wrong. FBI's agent, who works at Virginia's BAU (Behaviour Analysis Unit) crew. he's from the tv show Criminal Minds, 2005, and appears on the show since it's first season (but couldn't appear on the new seasons, unfortunally). he's the youngest from the crew!
btw, it's just so sad that he was supposed to be canonically bisexual but the network refused it and made him have a "crush" on JJ... AND NEVER TALK ABOUT THAT AGAIN. LIKE- THEY HAD SOMETHING DURING ONE SINGLE EPISODE ON S1 AND THAT'S IT??? 😭😭😭😭😭-
oh, and I almost forgot to mention something: THIS MAN IS SUCH A SWEET LIL THING, AND EVEN AFTER THE PRISON ARC HE LOOKED SO DAMN PERFECT, I--- HOW THE HELL CAN SPENCER BE SO... SPENCER????? AAAAAAARGHHHHH{€✓¢®{¢=¥¢}=+#+'+#+'+#-"(#)_;3-_(#()$
sometimes I honestly ask myself if I want him or if I want to be him, and I never know which of those to choose-

Bones had the right idea with just throwing random AU episodes into the series and I think more of my shows should do it. I want to see an NCIS medieval royalty AU. I want to watch a Criminal Minds college AU.

If I had a nickel for every time I watched spinoff of a show that started in 2005, just for one super charismatic guy. I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot. And knowing me it's not weird that it happened twice. It's going to happen again probably.

anyway: last thing about the fox.
I think the order in which the team reacts to frank fielding* hurting himself is pretty interesting.
Gideon and Morgan are first, simply because they're the ones closest.
Hotch and Elle are next, with Elle a little behind...
But when it comes to actually restraining Frank, Elle, who is still new and less experienced, lingers behind. If you watch the scene carefully, she actually backs away, too.
And finally, Reid stands at the very back. He enters the room but doesn't go any further, and the camera pans down to show him rocking back and forth on his feet, like he can't decide if he wants to run into or out of the room. I think it's possible that Diana self-harmed at some point in the past (although granted, the self-harm in this scene is a different "type") and he may have been having some unpleasant memories.
*the brother of one of the victims, who goes to her house despite her husband not wanting him there, is seen by her through the window, and thinks she mouths "go away" at him when she actually mouths "help me"

I've started watching The X Files recently and I gotta say, I really like it. There's something about the specific genre of shows like Bones, Criminal Minds and also now The X Files that I just can't get enough of. Maybe it has something to do with the FBI? Who knows, the point is, they're very good, and I'd recommend all three.
Especially Bones. Criminal Minds is particularly well-known and The X Files is a cult classic with an instantly recognisable theme tune. But Bones, I fear, doesn't get the same love. The titular character, Dr Temperance Brennan (affectionately called "Bones" by her partner, Agent Seely Booth), is a forensic anthropologist and works for the FBI to identify bodies so decayed they've become skeletons. The nickname hopefully makes sense now. I've always identified with her and think she's a pretty fantastic female character.
Of course, Bones herself isn't the only interesting character, Booth is played by David Boreanaz who is most recognisable as Angel in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. The two often clash with their differing viewpoints but always seem to work together to save the day and catch the bad guy. Then there's Dr Hodgins, who really loves bugs and dirt, and Angela, who does facial reconstructions and Dr Saroyan who does all the fleshy bits Dr Brennan can't.
I could go on and on about Bones, but I wouldn't want to give away significant plot points and disway new viewers. You can stream it on Disney+ if you're interested.
