So, one autumn evening (for me), I decided to show my boyfriend 9-1-1 because I've been seeing Buddie everywhere again, and as we are a gay couple, I needed him to rant with me about them, and justify the tension I'm seeing (Don't judge. I'm doing the same with NCIS). That's how the journey started.

Us just watching Buck kick ass and meet Eddie. Bobby being everyone's dad, and soon, Bobby and Athena. It was a wonderful time. But, somewhere during season 1, he lets me know that he's applying to be a dispatcher. Three weeks later, he got the job.

And now, just because I decided to show him my little quirky gay firefighter show, I'm dating a dispatcher. I think I won.

PSA: Buck and Josh weren't crazy about the full moon. Dispatchers ACTUALLY avoid that shift like sin.

Hm. Thinking about the rune of the unborn and the rebirthing egg, just Rennala in general.

I find interesting how in one video Zullie showed the inside of the egg, it being cramped with scholar bodies, which if i recall was cut outside of the cutscene because it would be too obvious.

I also find the way they are in fetal position intriguing as well.

The whole ordeal with Rebirth and grief with Rennala makes me ponder a little, the way shes constantly making more sweetings and losing them short after definitely takes a toll on her, I'd even say shes constantly in a feeling of post-partum depression/psychosis and grief.

Its said in her hat description that once Radagon left her she experienced heartbreak, and he left her with the egg and the red wolf all alone.

Now this is a little silly, but consider this:

Why would Radagon leave her with an Egg who grants rebirth?

Its mostly headcanon BUT hear me out.

So, the sweetings, aka the young scholars. They dont look far from Rennala but, who are they exactly and why are they all clones? whos the original? where did these guppies come from?

In my headcanon, there was going to be a fourth carian, although the timing was unfavorable, Radagon left Rennala pregnant and alone, her children had grown apart from her and she felt helpless without her family (And also how the scholars turned in on her), grief led her to miscarry that child. The sweetings are modelled after the child she never could carry to term, alas the only one who would inherit her looks.

The egg being the catalyst for the sweetings isnt just a random bird analogy, the way she craddles the egg VAGUELY resembles how a woman would hold her womb durinng pregnancy, might be a reach but you know once you see it, you see it.

Where am going with this? She became helplessly dependant on the egg, as far as abusing the rebirth over, and over, and over, lowkey giving post partum depression, as I mentioned earlier.

Of course, these are short lived, thus makes it WORSE.

Also to add, the name in itself "Rune of the Unborn" is quite in the face, you literally seek to take her egg from her, egg which resembles a womb, egg which basically births the sweetings, that's not Rennala's rune, that was supposed to be the baby's if anything.

The babies being short lived also being a result of Rennala not feeling whole, the miscarriage and being broken still, never meant to be born, but she pushes herself, clinging to the little sanity left in her.

ok thinking about crypt and rift lore again, and the confirmation of other worlds and the lute's power to drag people into it's world.

there's characters we know for SURE are from crypt's world (cadence's world) from dialogue/lore in both crypt and rift, but then there's characters we don't know for sure (we just know they're in the crypt somehow for some reason)

*for tempo, he's most likely a creation of the conductor, meaning he (like nocturna and the conductor) are from crypt's world. we know they're from the same world bc all of that happened before octavian found the lute and became the necrodancer.

**for chaunter, the only reason i say he might be from suzu's world is bc reaper's design has elements references chaunter in rift. this could just be a fun reference, however.

the others we can assume one way or another, but there's nothing for certain. klarinetta i think is probably from another world of her own, since she's so different from everyone else stylistically, like how suzu is.

also miku is there, too

What's an extremely criptic piece of lore in the DS trilogy you love to make silly headcanons about? Mine is Darklurker. A really good theory on Reddit (which you can find by searching Darklurker lore on google) explains why this guy may have been the sorcerer Olenford. After learning that information my friend came up with the headcanon that, before starting to Lurk in the Dark, Olenford was buddies with Agdayne and that they would chill in the Undead Crypt, since then i obv also adopted the headcanon.

Rook's personality is definitely reminiscent of Hawke's which is probably why Varric picked them but my personal Crypt Baby Rook lore is that Rook is in fact Hawke's second cousin once removed that was left in the Necropolis by Amell's sister who was on the run from the Templars after fleeing the circle when she found out she was pregnant in hopes of being able to raise her child in a place that didn't inherently fear magic only to be caught and cornered with her only solace being she managed to get her baby somewhere that they wouldn't be reviled for being a mage. Though the dead were certainly confused about why there was a newborn baby chilling in the Necropolis.

Rook will never know who her mother was or what happened to her but also an incredibly funny cosmic coincidence that Amell women (almost) always happen to be at the scene of the crime when Thedas is in trouble considering Rook is the Hero of Ferelden's niece and the Champion of Kirkwall's second cousin (once removed).

It's also my headcanon on why Morrigan was so sure Rook was going to be the hero the world needed because she took one look at Rook, went "that's an Amell alright" (because Rook is almost the spitting image of the HoF) and Morrigan knew the world was going to be in good, if irreverent, hands.

A wizard is impossible to capture as a murderer, when magic makes it impossible to capture them

That the ‘old ways’ exist for a reason

That the uncanny valley was created for a reason, because pure blooded wizards just don’t quite pass as human enough to not trigger that sense. That muggles have that instinct to be aware of wizards, but lost the meaning on why from wizards going into hiding for their own safety
