bts as pokémon trainers

rewatching the anime so naturally i have some Thoughts. this is going off the gym leader style, where they specialize in one type, but free to share your own!

seokjin — normal trainer. no one has more ditto energy than him. they may not be the strongest, but this is a trainer that’s just vibing with his friends. lives in a port town, definitely owns a boat. would be a water trainer but feels bad catching the fish and not putting them back. team: snorlax, porygon, eevee, aipom, teddiursa, chansey. secondary type: water.

yoongi — ghost trainer. i think out of everyone he’d appreciate the beauty of the pokémon tower the most. he’s elusive himself, but also really gentle, and i think ghost types would be drawn to that kind of energy. team: haunter, mimikyu, misdreavus, sableye, (alolan) marowak, greavard. secondary type: steel.

hobi — fairy trainer. everyone thinks they’re just cute, but fairy types are also really powerful, and if that doesn’t describe hobi idk what does. like jin, not out to be a pokémon master. probably runs the daycare. team: togepi, swirlix, sylveon, jigglypuff, gardevoir, snubbull. secondary type: ground.

namjoon — grass trainer. easy. definitely more of a professor/researcher and less of a battle trainer. thinks battling is too violent, just wants to spend all day under a tree with his buddies. team: bellossom, ivysaur, vileplume, deerling, treecko, exeggutor. secondary type: bug.

jimin — electric trainer. i always say jimin and i are a lot alike, so it’s with affection that i say: short fuse. definitely a battle trainer and probably a gym leader, but within the first few towns. would probably love to mentor all the kids who just got their trainer licenses. team: jolteon, ampharos, luxio, elekid, rotom, electrode. secondary type: fire.

taehyung — ice trainer. the winter bear himself. seems cold and unattainable (even though we know better) so he’s definitely an elite four member. obviously from lumiose city. only the best for him. team: glaceon, articuno, lapras, arceus, cubchoo, cloyster. secondary type: psychic.

jungkook — dragon trainer. the main character, the ash ketchum of this journey. a little cocky at first but has a big heart and is always willing to learn. he’s going to be the pokémon master and no one’s going to stop him, even if it takes 25 seasons. team: dragonite, rayquaza, garchomp, koraidon, zygarde, latios. secondary type: fighting.

Hi! Is it ok if you do some headcanons of the cubchoo line and the Unovan darumaka line with a trainer that is easily anxious?

Sure! I've never done much like this before, so I chose this format ^_^

Cubchoo:

It always did its best to be right by its trainer.

It knew that its trainer didn’t do well in crowds, so it was always there to provide a cold touch.

It wasn’t the biggest fan of crowds, either.

Beartic:

Though it looked intimidating, it knew how to give great bear hugs.

Plus, its intimidation helped get its trainer out of anxious situations quicker.

Its trainer appreciated the help once they were able to calm down.

Darumaka:

It was often constantly moving, so it used that to try distracting its trainer.

It would also do its best to fall asleep on its trainer.

Its trainer thought it was very warm, in a comforting way.

Darmanitan:

Darmanitan knew how to meditate, so it tried getting its trainer to try, too.

Other than that, it used its warmth to help.

Its trainer definitely appreciated that.

Here are some of my Anipoke BW head cannons since I feel like I’m going to explode.

1. Trip, Bianca, and Stephan all grew up together and lived in the same neighborhood.

I know that Bianca and Trip are from from nuvema town . I don’t know about Stephan since his hometown is unknown according to bulbapedia but I like to hc that he and Bianca were childhood friends anyway. The three of them have a tight bond thanks to this. Bianca and Stephan were also Trip’s only friends as a little kid which made him appreciate them even more. 🥹

2. Georgia grew up in Icirrus city.

I hc this since Icirrus is known for its ice types (correct me if I’m wrong) Georgia would often play with the ice type Pokémon and would try to challenge passers despite her being too young to be a trainer. I also hc that her first Pokémon was a cubchoo from the wild that her parents let her keep. Since she didn’t really have a backstory in the anime, I figured this would be a nice one for her.

3. Iris got her thick skin from being bullied at the dragon academy.

I know in the anime she was homesick at that school, but I hc that her peers would taunt and tease her constantly for being different then the rest of them. The teachers wouldn’t really do much about it so Iris had to fight for herself from a young age. I also like to think this was why she wasn’t to trusting of Ash at first since guys weren’t nice to her in her youth.

4. Georgia and Burgundy are long-time besties.

I hc that they went to nursery school together and played every single day at play time and were very sad when the year was over since they had to leave each other. They somehow unexpectedly reconnected at a battle tournament when they were 13 years old and started hanging out again. They became very close during this time. Their friends would refer to them as “partners in crime” since now that they were teenagers, they started getting into more and more mischief together such as sneaking out during tournament breaks to get food, breaking curfews by attending concerts or other events late at night, and gossiping and pulling pranks on others. I like to think that the mischief is Georgia’s idea since I hc that her parents were super strict and she wanted to break free and live life. Burgundy goes along with her despite being kind of a “goody two shoes” since she always has fun and she loves spending time with Georgia. 😌

5. Cilan is Burgundy’s mentor.

I like to hc that Burgundy gets help from Cilan when studying for her PCA exams. Burgundy is currently a B class connaisseuse and she wants to rank up so Cilan helps her out with studying. They grew close and Burgundy will spend every weekend at Cilan’s place not only to study, but to spend time with him and she always enjoys it. I like to believe that Burgundy has a crush on Cilan and he noticed it so he started to be more affectionate with her and she returns it. ☺️

Pokedex Information: Originally thought to be a variant or convergent form of Stuffel, this pokemon in fact only resembles Stuffel superfically, sharing the traits of being bipedal, ursine, and resembling a stuffed toy.

While Stuffel is not a stuffed toy, Frankenstuffel seems to be - it has been observed "building" others like itself from abandoned toys. Inexplicably, it only chooses toys that resemble Cubchoo, Teddirusa, Pancham, Stuffel, Komala, and Kubfu. No one knows how they are animated or where they originally came from. It is speculated that they were originally created by human hands.

These mischievous pokemon can have motivations ranging from playful to malicious, often targeting young children or pokemon for their "pranks". Each individual tends to be consistent in their motivations for "pranks" - playful individuals do not usually deviate into the darker motivations unless driven to do so. Malicious individuals on the other hand, have been observed to modify their behaviour when their behaviour distresses their trainer.

It is unknown if this pokemon evolves, what the evolution method would be, or what it evolves into.

Description: This pokemon is built from bear-themed stuffed toys and literally stitched together with heavy black stitches. "Shiny" individuals are observed to have white stitches instead. Each observed Frakenstuffel looks different - the "configuration" of parts is unique to each individual pokemon. They are also observed to "decorate" themselves with parts of defeated pokemon - Oshawott shells, Squirtle shells, Meowth coins, Voltorb casings (worn as "hats"), Cubone skulls, Staryu jewels, etc. They will also sometimes "modify" themselves after creation with parts of other stuffed toys. It is primarily bipedal, but has been observed running on four legs for extra speed.

Rules of Use: This was made with the pokemonirl community in mind, but it's free for anyone to use in noncommercial endeavors. I'm unsure at this time if I'm comfortable with people profiting off my fakemon with adoptables, but if someone commissions art from you for this fakemon, that is fine. Aka you can commission art of this fakemon. I'd love to be tagged in any art created :)

Each individual is unique and how you design it is up to you if you "design" one! You may not design an evolution however, as I already have that planned.

i didnt realize u had a blog on here! idk if u remember our battle, but i was the kid w a cubchoo, sneasel, cryogonal, n glaceon 7 years ago who had 2 call a pause in the middle of the battle bc the egg i had w me was hatching? thx 4 being understanding abt that btw i still appreciate it ^v^

and of course i was glad to pause the fight, i was so eggcited to see what would hatch! ehehehe! oh, oh- i forgot, what did hatch? hopefully something eggcellent! eheheh!

okay, sorry, puns aside. it genuinely took me so unbarably long to get my gym badges and licenses and all that stuff. i started young, and had to excell fast. i think it took me almost 4 years? i honestly reccommend becoming a gym leader a bit later in life than i did. it's fun, but it's a lot of work!

and i would absolutely love to see your gym in action! and i need a rematch with you, be so much fun. please, feel free to stop by sometime for a rematch or some coffee! i love talking to young trainers and aspiring gym leaders.

Been a little while, but here's the continuation of the Pokémon challenge! "Day" 12, favourite ice type, bringing the fox appreciation forward again with Alolan Vulpix

Caben finds a bag and a neatly wrapped, large box on Delibird Day. In the bag is an assortment of cool-looking rocks from Augustine. In the box is a picnic set with a shaymin camouflage print on the blanket. The basket included is not empty, containing a banana chocolate cake. The box has a card. "Happy Delibird Day! I guessed at the flavor you might like. - Sylvia Anagyros"

Caben looks over all the rocks that had been sent carefully, they look really neat and would go great in his rock collection. He'll put them in when he gets back home but for now he'll place them in various locations around his Cubchoo cabin with some other rocks that he's picked up during the festival.

Next up is the picnic set which will work wonders for when he and his Pokémon spend time out in the forests, the blanket has a Pokémon that looks a bit familiar. He was visited by this grass mon much earlier in the month and was really cute so this is much appreciated. As is the cake within the basket, still looks good too so this must of been baked recently. Caben is a lover of fruity sweets so he'll definitely enjoy this banana chocolate cake a bit later into the day. "Merci Sylvia, Happy Delibird Day."

Okay, here is my request for Elesa and Skyla having a very miserable snow day trying to catch a Cubchoo for their long distance s/o!

You got it! I hope you enjoy! I kinda struggled a lil with this one, but I hope it reaches your expectations! (❁´◡`❁) Summary: After their long distance s/o mentioned wanting a Unova pokemon, Skyla and Elesa decide to go catch one just for you! Except, the day doesn't go quite as planned... CW: getting stuck in snow Word count: 488 Words!

Elesa huffed, before letting out a sneeze. "Why did we decide doing this was a good idea?" Elesa asked, her teeth chattering as she rubbed her arms. She may have had warm clothes on, but the harsh winter snow along route 7 had her in chills. Skyla laughed. "You were the one that suggested hunting down a Cubchoo. You know they only appear here in winter!" She said, sending a teasing smile to Elesa. Skyla was much better off, having used to varying temperatures with her job. Despite that, with a cold burst of air, she couldn't help but shiver. This year was exceptionally cold. "Ugh. They better appreciate us going out and doing this. I'm going to be tired for the next week! Not to mention, I feel like I'm catching a cold..." Elesa ranted. Despite loving the winter fashion trends, she was not a fan of the cold. Skyla shook her head, though smiled fondly. "Come on! The faster we find a Cubchoo, the faster we-woah!" Skyla began, only to stammer as she nearly lost her footing. The ice had been slick, and they were both on an incline. "Skyla, be careful! The ice-" Elesa tried to warn, only to slip herself. With a scream, she tumbled forward. “Elesa!” Skyla called out, but it was too late. Elesa rolled down the hill, desperately trying to catch herself, before finally tumbling face first into a snowdrift. Skyla carefully maneuvered her way over, concern clear in her voice. “Elesa! Elesa! Are you alright?!” She asked, unsure how to help the other woman. Elesa was nearly hip deep in the snow, her arms and head trapped within the snow drift. “J’st p’chy...” Skyla heard her girlfriend grumble. Elesa struggled in the snow, her legs kicking as she attempted to free herself. Skyla attempted not to laugh. Seeing Elesa wiggle around with her butt in the air like that was almost cute. “Elesa, do you need any help?” She asked, and heard a muffled ‘please’ in response. “Okay! Lemme just-“ she began, only for a bunch of snow to fall on her head. “What the...?” She looked up, confused. In a tree above them, was a very small Zangoose, potentially a baby. Before she could pull out her one pokemon for a battle, the Zangoose lept down towards her. Skyla let out a small shriek as the Zangoose left on her head. Using her body for momentum, it leaped behind her and ran off. Caught off balance, Skyla let out another yell, before slipping once more. “Nonononono!” She cried out, before tumbling further down the incline. With a shriek, she fell backwards into another drift ahead in the road. She struggled a moment, legs kicking back and forth, before stopping. She was definitely stuck. “So much for finding a Cubchoo today...” she mumbled, before letting out a sneeze. She hoped you wouldn’t mind a rain check on getting that pokemon...

2p America:

• Was Luciano’s rival, ended up losing so he mostly just travels around and battles

• Main Pokémon is an Obstagoon who is almost always out of its ball, it’s only on there when it faints and he’s extremely attached to them

• Other Pokémon in his team include: Greninja, Mamoswine, Archanine, Marowak and Luxray.

• Allen’s Marowak was a Cubone when he originally took it in, he felt really bad for it and decided to take it in and make sure that it was alright, and it eventually evolved so he refuses to ever take it off his team

2p England:

• Used to be a Pokémon trainer but he eventually just settled back into his home town after realising it really wasn’t for him

• Doesn’t really have a main Pokémon, he just looks after the ones that appear around his house which is mostly various Morelull and Shiinotic

• He debates moving a lot, it’s not that he doesn’t like his home town but he finds himself missing certain places that he one travelled to and longs to go back a lot of the time

• People usually get him to deal with the random Pokémon that pop up, mostly because he grows berries to make treats with and it typically calms them down

2p Canada:

• He moved out pretty young to try and be a Pokémon trainer but realised he didn’t like it all that much, so he ended up moving near the town with an ice gym

• Main Pokémon is a Dusk form Lycanroc, not many people expect it but he took care of the Rockruff before it evolved in his home town so they’re very dear to him

• Doesn’t actually have that many Pokémon, he doesn’t like catching Pokémon because he feels rude when he does, he only catches them if they express that they want to be

• He takes care of the Cubchoo and Beartics that come around a lot, a lot of other wild Pokémon will seek him out if they’re injured or hungry because they know he’ll help but it’s mostly those two

2p France:

• He’s the poison type gym leader, challengers usually have to go find him because it’s rare to actually find him in the gym

• Has Nihilego, the ultra beast, but a lot of people consider it unfair if he uses it so it’s his main Pokémon but he doesn’t use them for battling. He wishes he could, it’d make things more interesting but he doesn’t care all that much

• Pokémon in his gym team include: Roserade, Seviper, Scolipede, Toxapex, Drapion and Tentacruel

• A lot of people get extremely surprised that he’s the gym leader, sometimes he entertains himself by seeing how long it takes someone to find out it’s him if they come up asking him where the gym leader is or to help them find the gym leader

2p China:

• Another former champion, he never really took it all that seriously and if people didn’t remind him, he’d likely forget all about it

• Main Pokémon is a Noivern, he had them since they were a Noibat so they’ve been with him for a very long time

• Has a lot of Pokémon and never really a set team, he kind of just juggles them around when he needs to

• People challenge him a lot, especially newer trainers, and it’s very common that they lose pretty quickly, he doesn’t even try to win and he somehow still manages to

2p Russia:

• He never really understood battling or champions or anything of that nature, he ended up become a Pokémon professor but he’s known to be less than social

• Main Pokémon is a Froslass that’s allowed to do whatever it wants, so long as it’s not destructive

• Also has a Machamp because it’s numerous arms are helpful around the lab, and he appreciates their help a lot

• Spends most his time in his lab, he even ends up sleeping in there a lot, so most of his socialisation is with the random Pokémon he’s studying

The Big Hero 6/Pokemon Crossover We All Wish Would Happen

Over the past couple of weeks, members of the Big Hero 6 fandom have been drawing/making mock-ups of the team with their respective Pokemon partners.  Now, in total accordance with being late to every single trend ever, I will now do the same, but I won’t be backing it up with wondrous drawings.

Mostly because I can’t draw. Some of the members were really obvious, and some...weren’t.  Out of everyone, Hiro was actually the hardest one, and I actually am still not really sold on my choice.  That’s mostly because the specific Pokemon is not his schtick.  There’s not really a Robot Pokemon.  There are certain members that were tremendously easy.

And we’re going to start with one of them: Go Go. 1.) The picture I drew of Chibi Go Go and Cinderace (which I still have to finish, for the record) doesn’t actually depict the Pokemon I’d put with her.  Cinderace would be her second choice.  The first?

Falinks, the Formation Pokemon.

Genwunners may not know this one, because it’s from the newest Pokemon games, but it’s very symbolic of Go Go: there’s six of them, it’s pure Fighting-type, and it has a signature move in No Retreat, which is basically a Pokemon version of “Woman up!”.  It raises all of its stats in exchange for it not being able to escape from battle.

But Go Go never escapes from anything, so it’s appropriate.

Plus they have the discs as well. Cinderace would be her backup, mostly because of the speed and rabbit parellels for her roommate, who is up next.

2.) Honey Lemon actually had the most options for her, because she’s the cutesy one.  That means she can be handed literally any Fairy type and call it a day, but what fun would that be?

Especially because there’s another bunny Pokemon that she’d be with...and that’s Lopunny.

It doesn’t really delve into her superhero side because it’s a bunny and cute and furry and all that jazz, but imagine HL’s completelyf amazed face when she gets one.  The squeeing would be nonstop.

Her secondary would be a Fairy type, and something that would change colored flowers based on the mood: Flabebe.

3.) Wasabi was also entirely way too easy, and he gets, in my opinion, one of the coolest Pokemon that was introduced back in X and Y: Aegislash.

I can’t even think of a proper backup for him; Aegislash is just that good.  Plus, if worse came to worse, Wasabi could grab him and swing it around himself.  But not too much, because the Aegislash line have a thing about possessing people with their tassels. His backup is another blade-related one: Bisharp.

Dark/Steel, cool design, somehow got Laser Focus as a level-up move in the latest games.  Pretty much a no-brainer. 4.) Karmi is also an easy one, and her inspiration came from one of the occupants of her lab when Hiro came to offer his help in “City of Monsters”: Mr. Varicella Zoster.

What Pokemon is cute, semi-translucent, looks like something scientific, and is also a psychic powerhouse (you’re assuming Varicella Zoster is not)? You guessed it.

Reuniclus.  The Multiplying Pokemon. The origin of it is based off of cells and amoebas, which is a perfect thing for a very scientific person like Karmi.  And the imaginary story in my head has her getting her partner first through the mysterious means that the team has to investigate. Her back-up plays off of her other project: the tech rose.  And the only Grass/Steel Pokemon (Ferroseed/Ferrothorn) isn’t really much of a fit.  So we’ll play off of her wannabe superheroics with another plant-based masked powerhouse: Roserade.

What’s better than a bouquet that has flowers for fists?  Nothing. 5.) Fred is a mascot for a “living”, and I think it would be funny if his partner would be very similar to a mascot, and that would be Bewear.

No, it doesn’t have cool Fire/Ice-type moves, and it’s not a lizard, but it’s a pun name, and I think Fred would appreciate a Pokemon with a pun name. Plus, I couldn’t really find anything that had Fire, Ice, and was a lizard.

At least with Bewear you can chain-breed Ice Punch onto it from Cubchoo, thus making Cubchoo an even greater Pokemon than before. His backup is one of the Pokemon based off of kaiju: Tyranitar.

Do you think that Fred is actually a Pokemon guy, or is Hiro the Pokemon guy?  Methinks it would be a collaborative effort to try to get everyone else to know what the heck they’re talking about.

6.) You didn’t think I would forget about Baymax, would you?  Now, you’d think that with being a healthcare companion would make me want to go for the obvious choice.

Blissey. And...you’d be partially right. But Baymax can’t just sit on the sidelines and heal, even though that’s his...purpose. Nah, we gotta get something a little more...metal.

Melmetal, to be precise. He’s very Baymax-y in the anime when Ash has him, and plus he’s got a two-fist move in Double Iron Bash.

Oh, and we’ll just give Mini-Max Meltan for funzies. 7.) As I was writing this up, I scanned back through it and was like “Who am I forgetting?”.

Oh nuts, Hiro is the one I was forgetting. So here’s the thing.  I actually really like the idea of giving him Magnezone, because of “lul magnetism” and all that.

And I was struggling to give him a back-up when I saw @baymaksu​ and his drawing of him and Riolu, and it just clicked for me.

Plus the mental image of Hiro manipulating Aura just like Ash gets me excited. So there it is.  My long, exhaustive post about Big Hero 6 and their Pokemon partners, based off my twenty some odd years of being a Pokemon trainer. I wonder if I should do the villains next.  Or maybe the Beta Team. Or both.

Hi Professor! I’ve actually been looking to get a partner Pokemon so your post was a godsend! My name’s Jubilee and I’m a 25 working professional (going through that 9-5 grind). I live in Icirrus so it’s a bit colder compared to the rest of the region, and I can be a bit a homebody! At home I like to bake and cook a lot (even if I’m not very good at it), so I’d love a companion who wouldn’t mind being a taste tester 😭 While I can’t call myself an elite athlete, I do like to do some powerlifting and would enjoy the occasional friendly Pokemon battle.

Any Pokémon that lives with me can expect a fairly simple routine—quiet mornings and afternoons while I work, and some bustling while I unwind in the evenings. Weekends are for lazing around in the morning and then grocery shopping and cooking adventures in the PM. What are your recommendations for a beginner-friendly Pokemon?

hi jubilee! i'm from just north of icirrus in anville town, and we visited extended family there quite frequently when i was growing up; it's a lovely place, but i don't envy you in the winters haha!

for your case, how about...

-a timburr! this pokemon has a ravenous appetite as it grows and would love to try whatever you make, i'm sure. it would also be a great partner while lifting; though small, you would be surprised how much it can carry! spotting each other would be the perfect bonding activity. they are highly adapted to human-centric environments and would likely feel at home with your lifestyle!

-cubchoo! these pokemon are very resiliant to colder temperatures, and enjoy a stable lifestyle. they tend to be stressed by changes in routine! cubchoo tend to also quite enjoy a variety of meals, and are omnivores so they will be happy with baked goods and meat dishes alike. they enjoy being babied somewhat, so if you're able to bring them into the office with you and give them some attention throughout the day, i'm sure they'd appreciate it.

-larvesta! though this pokemon has a "resting grumpy face," they're actually quite affectionate and sweet. it would be the least able to be involved in your exersize, though it does learn moves such as safeguard and protect that can help you powerlift with safety. it will keep you quite cozy and warm in the winters, and as a fire-type, it can help you cook as well! as with a lot of pokemon that start out small and have a lot of growing to do, these pokemon are voracious eaters, and can eat almost their body weight in food each day. they quite enjoy lazing about as well!
