23. Booger
Who came up with this idea of a prompt?? Who decided to restrain my monthly theme to Submas? ... Yeah okay, fine x)
Thankfully, Cubchoo exists and I fancied the idea of making each gym leader of Unova meeting with the submas twins at least once over sketchtember and inktober xP

“Giima!”
Grimsley breaks eye contact with Shauntal from his Xtransceiver, who covers her mouth with her hand as she giggles.
What rotten luck.
Of course, he doesn’t consider little Cheri to be bad luck at all- it just so happened he forgot he had promised to drop by on the same day he was supposed to attend that tournament with Marshal and Shauntal.
And sure, his parents would have no qualms with Grimsley breaking his promise and rescheduling for another month. They were always so, so supportive of his decisions, even if deep down, he knew they should have been stricter with him.
But..
“Giima!”
Little Cheri is home alone with him, as Grimsley had reassured their parents they could go out on their own for now and leave everything up to him.
Yet here he was, completely ignoring his sibling as they wailed and wailed about how the juice he got them was too cold.
How else is juice supposed to be enjoyed?
“You know,” Shauntal speaks up, catty smile on her face as she rests her face on her folded hands. Grimsley listens to her as he pours the contents of the sippy cup down the drain and prepares another batch of juice. “If your parents aren’t coming home until later tonight, I have a.. suggestion.”
She wiggles her eyebrows in mischief. Grimsley does not know where this is going.
Until Marshal’s voice is heard from her end. “Wh- absolutely not! This is a tournament! It’s no ideal environment for a baby!”
“Aw, but why not? That way, Grimsley can join in on the fun! We’ll take turns babysitting his sibling!”
“That’s-!”
He doesn’t even wait for them to continue. He’s already stuffing the essentials in that small plush backpack his mom carries around, and fiddles with the ball of the Unfezant he had borrowed from Alder.
“Little Cheri,”
He crouches to his sibling’s level. Little Cheri was still a sobbing mess, but was too preoccupied with tugging on the ears of his Cubchoo doll. His sibling looks up at him at the mention of their name, blinking back tears.
“Say, do you want to see what a real Pokemon looks like?”

My Collection: Vaporeon
For any of you who have been following me since the blog’s inception, you already know that I have a soft spot for Eevees, Eeveelutions and in particular, Vaporeon.
My soft spot for Vaporeon is because when I was a kid and not all of the Pokémon we know and love today had been discovered yet, Vaporeon was my absolute favorite. When I was a kid, I didn’t have the skill or tools to shiny hunt like I do now so I never even imagined that one day I would have one on my team.
That’s why, when I saw an outbreak for VAPOREON specifically on my map, I knew I had to put in the time and materials to find one. Destiny was calling because it only took about 13 minutes to find one. Luckily shiny Vaporeon is really easy to spot in a group.
To increase my chances of running into shiny Vaporeon, I made this sandwich:
Four servings of cucumber
One serving of pickles
Two Herba Mystica but NOT Sweet/Sweet or Sweet/Sour (I used two spicy)
Sort of an unpleasant sandwich (way too watery) but you can’t deny the results!
My running theory is that the Pokémon are attracted to the contents of the sandwich. Cucumbers are very watery so it’s no surprise that a Vaporeon would like them! You can see he’s hanging around the table looking for scraps.
My wife helped me to name him Dionysus after the Greek god of wine! I thought the name was pretty inspired. 💕
Oh, but who’s this behind Dionysus?? It’s Lumi the shiny Cubchoo! I caught Lumi suddenly while cycling down Mount Glaseado. It was so unexpected that I really don’t have many pictures of the encounter to share with you. But don’t they look great together?
If you want your own shiny Vaporeon, the best way would be to wait for a Vaporeon outbreak and use the picnic method (with or without sandwich) to get one. If you don’t want to wait for an outbreak though, you can always use the Masuda Method which works in every region of Pokémon!
That’s all for now! I’ve been busy helping my friends and family shiny hunt and we’ve taken lots of pictures to share with everyone so look forward to those soon! Until next time, stay shiny! ✨

[Amateurishly edited compilation of a very small Cubchoo practicing moves. The shots are spliced together and timed to loud industrial rock music that seems ill fitting for the actual contents of the video. Early clips of the video show the Cubchoo attempting to stand tall and use an ice type attack on some homemade targets set up in a backyard. There's a noticeable improvement from some of the first clips where the icy breath only travels a short distance to it gradually gaining strength and range.
The remainder of the video seems to be spliced clips from a few mock battles in the same backyard against a Stunky. It's clear even in the clips that the Stunky is holding back somewhat, as if it is scared to hurt the ice type. At one point it hits the cub with an attack that sends it tumbling backwards. When it gets back to its feet, it rushes at the Stunky in an attempt to retaliate.
In the final moments of the video the Cubchoo manages to dodge out of the way of the poison type's scratch attack and turns, successfully hitting it with a bout of Icy Wind. Ice crystals stick to the skunk Pokemon's fur, emphasized by an obnoxious filter that makes the crystals sparkle brightly as it tries to shake them off.]

Jebbie’s Siblings
It’s Sibling Time, and Jebbie’s got THREE of em. Alanora named the first one, then Mordelia named the second, and repeat the pattern.
Cornotta - The eldest daughter, 25 years old. She took the most after her Mother, following in her footsteps as a dancer. She’s more aloof than any of her family members, and Jebbie wishes they had a closer bond like when they were younger. She wants to be more than a ‘simple ice-cream merchant’, and pursues dance like her Mother, as well as some acting and modelling on the side when she can. Despite wanting to distance herself from the family business, she does well in the world of networking their business. She is extremely resentful that Jebbie is taller than her, and is worried her brothers will follow suit.
He appearance is based on Glaceon, and her name is a mix of ‘Cornetto’ and ‘Carlotta’.
Cartedorian - The third child, 8 years old. He’s a very sweet lad and a right Mama’s boy who loves accessories and going swimming with Mama. He doesn’t like negative feelings or conflict, so tries to make sure everyone is happy, or at least content. He’s also one of Jebbie’s best taste testers when making new ice cream flavours, as he always has something good to say, as well as helpful improvements (luckily for him he’s never had anything truly negative to tell her), and enjoys his small part in his family’s business. He’s very proud of his heritage, and loves telling people about his amazing mums and sisters.
His appearance is based on Cubchoo, and his name is a mix of ‘Carte D’Or’ and ‘Dorian’.
Babbkin - the youngest one, a wee bab. As a baby, there isn’t realyl much to him. He always has that look on his face and loves being doted on, although he does have a habit of appearing where you least expect him. One minute he’s on the sofa watching telly, then you turn around for one moment and he ends up on the dining room table. Who knows what the future holds for him?
His appearance is based on Snom, and his name is inspired by ‘Baskin Robbins’, and it sounds like a good name for a bab.

Adreffe’s Appeal for @wallace-cup !!
Choreographing the appeal had been difficult for Molly. She wasn’t a dancer by nature, and neither were her pokemon. Where Margourette could spin and glide like she was the tiny doll in one of those music boxes every child seemed to have, Molly stumbled and hesitated and tripped over her own feet. It was frustrating beyond belief, and yet she pushed forward through all of that.
Adreffe was supposed to be a region of learning, of getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new, and what sort of teacher would she be if she couldn’t hold herself to the same struggles her students were expected to undergo?
Still, perhaps it’d be easier to focus if her feelings for Margourette hadn’t been skyrocketing ever since the start of this Cup. There was simply no getting around it - Margourette was beautiful, even after their pavilion showing had ended and she’d been exhausted, her dress covered in Skitty fur and Togekiss feathers and with half-melted chocolate smeared across her baking apron. Her hair, long since having fallen out of its pristine bun, had glittered with all the rainbow lights still filtering through their icy pavilion walls, and her eyes had glittered with the tiniest hint of mischief as she’d flopped down against Molly and sighed dramatically:
❝ So exhausted, amie! You must carry me back to the hotel. ❞
Though she’d (probably) been joking, Molly had simply lifted her up with a fond smile and carried her bridal style out of the pavilion, lulling her to sleep in the process. She’d hoped at the time that Margourette’s arm, draped so delicately across Molly’s chest to rest upon her shoulder, hadn’t been able to feel the frantic beating of her heart hidden just underneath her sweater dress. She’d prayed to Magearna above that Margourette hadn’t felt the gentle brush of fingertips against her scalp as her hair was freed from its tie and brushed out, nor the feather-light ‘goodnight’ that had been whispered as Molly left for her own room.
She definitely hadn’t had that safety during their practice sessions, though. The music Molly had chosen was almost waltz-like (she really didn’t like to make things easy on her tender heart, did she?), so naturally it meant that the two women had to spend a lot of time pressed pretty closely together as they danced. While that had done wonders for their synchronisation, these flimsy ballet costumes did nothing to hide how fast her heart was going. Margourette had been kind enough not to mention it (outside of the occasional check-in to make sure Molly had enough stamina to get another rehearsal done), but now her crush was so obvious that she was having trouble looking the ballerina in the eye without that telltale blush creeping up her cheeks.
Even as she stood there now, backstage, playing with her puffy white tutu that contrasted amazingly with Margourette’s black one, she found herself staring at the floor rather than admiring how the stage lights made Margourette’s blonde hair glow like a halo.
There was a soft squeeze on Molly’s hand.
❝ Ready to begin? Our audience is waiting. ❞
❝ Oh- I- uh, yeah! Yeah, let’s go. ❞
Pokemon List (ik there’s a lot, but bear with me):
Togekiss - Dazzling Gleam, Aura Sphere, Air Slash, Fairy Mist
Alcremie - Mystical Fire, Sweet Scent, Decorate, Magical Leaf
Morelull - Confuse Ray, Sludge Bomb
Florges - Wish, Flower Shield, Petal Blizzard, Sunny Day
Slurpuff - Thunderbolt, Sticky Web
Cubchoo - Rock Tomb, Sheer Cold
Glaceon - Sand Attack, Blizzard, Rain Dance, Iron Tail
Sealeo - Water Gun, Aurora Beam
Smoochum - Sing, Ice Punch
Music: Merry Go Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle
As soon as the women stepped out on stage and took their places in the center, the music started. The starting notes were simple, and so they kept their dance at a simple waltz, never straying far from the dead middle. This gave the pokemon time to form a circle around them, some of them standing more gracefully than others, and start using their moves.
Glaceon called out to the ceiling, summoning a gentle Rain Dance to patter across the stage. This water got Cubchoo’s attention, who wiggled in place for a moment as he remembered what he was supposed to be doing, and then released a breath of Sheer Cold. This move wasn’t anywhere near the strength a Cubchoo could let out, mainly toned down for the comfort of the audience, but it was chilly all the same. This colder air froze the wet ground on the stage, forcing Margourette and Molly to move from a waltz into more of an ice skating routine. Margourette took most of the attention here, her ballet training coming in useful for a balancing challenge such as this, and Molly used that as the necessary distraction to nudge the pokemon circle into moving, following her around to the back of the stage.
There, Sealeo’s Water Gun was fired against Smoochum’s Ice Punch, each connection creating a thick pillar of ice. This continued all the way around the left side of the stage, then the right, leaving a total of nine pillars on each side. Their final connection was the biggest one yet, leaving a block of ice about as big as a dining table jutting out from the back of the stage. Apparently content with what she was seeing, Molly left to go rejoin Margourette in her dance at the front of the stage, Florges sealing them off from the pokemon with a Flower Shield. A Fairy Mist courtesy of Togekiss leaked out from behind it, the pink smoke trailing across the stage and down into the audience, and by the sugary smell drifting up from it, it looked as though it had intermingled with Alcremie’s Sweet Scent. The Rain Dance was wearing off now too, the floor now thoroughly coated in a layer of ice.
Molly’s hands found Margourette’s, and before she knew what was happening she was getting tugged into an elaborate dance of twirls and spins, their bodies pressed so close they were little more than a blur of white and black. This definitely hadn’t been part of their rehearsals, and yet Molly couldn’t find it within herself to pull away and get them back on track. Especially not when she was suddenly dipped, the toes of one foot ghosting across the ground, the rest of her weight kept suspended in Margourette’s arms (and how hadn’t she noticed those muscles before?) In a moment of whimsy, she plucked a white rose off of the Flower Shield and slipped it into Margourette’s bun, nuzzling her shoulder as she pulled away. The ballerina breathed out a huff of laughter (what a lovely sound!) and returned the gesture, slipping a black rose into Molly’s brunette curls. They could have stayed like that forever, wrapped in their own little world, but the music was lulling and that meant it was time for their second half.
They straightened up, Margourette slipping off to kneel down one side of the stage and Molly the other, and waited for the shield to drop and give their pokemon back the spotlight. Once it did, eighteen tiny ice Duckletts were revealed sitting on top of the ice pillars they’d made before, as well as a Swanna with her wings outstretched, perched proud in the center slab of ice. If the people in the audience had attended the Adreffian pavilion, they’d no doubt have a pretty good idea of what was going to be happening next.
The pokemon lined up behind their Trainers, already having agreed it’d be easier for the judges if this next part was done one-by-one, rather than all moving at the same time. Togekiss was first to break the line, floating over to the leftmost Ducklett sculpture. She flipped in front of it, looping backwards again and again until she’d built up a neat circle of wind around her, and then she released it in an Air Slash. Rather than slicing through the Ducklett, it was caught underneath it and the icy pedestal it sat on, levitating the duck in a gentle up-down motion and swirling through its shell of a body. The air whistled as it whipped through, a happy accident that gave that particular Ducklett a voice.
The next Ducklett was given the power of the Fighting type, Togekiss glowing neon blue with the stored energy before bumping the ice sculpture with its Aura Sphere, careful to feed the energy inside without accidentally destroying anything. It glowed beside its wind-surfing brethren, the Aura Sphere flitting over every crevice of the icy container but never able to actually break through.
For the third Ducklett, Alcremie was called over with a gentle chirp. Togekiss unleashed a Dazzling Gleam, the move bouncing off of all the ice on stage and shining outwards across the audience in all directions. The Ducklett was left shining bubblegum pink, glittering with Fairy power, and Alcremie completed the look with a Decorate. Strawberries and globs of frosting were held up for the audience to see before being dropped down into the icy shell, the ensemble soon beginning to smell incredible.
Togekiss floated backstage, her part in this show finished, but Alcremie continued on. The next Ducklett was greeted to a Mystical Fire, the flames dancing about inside its body but never burning hot enough to melt the exterior.
That had been a nightmare to correct during their training, so much so that Molly had lost count of how many times they’d considered scrapping this idea entirely, but she couldn’t help but give a proud smile over to Alcremie. The little thing just looked so happy with itself, pointing at the Ducklett as if it, too, couldn’t believe that it had worked.
Molly turned her back towards the crowd just as Florges got up to float over to Alcremie, easily scoping her up and carrying her over to the next pillar. This Ducklett was treated to a combined attack, a mix of Alcremie’s Magical Leaf and Florges’ Petal Blizzard, and the resulting look was a gleaming mess of leaves and flowers, caught in some sort of endless whirlwind. Florges then joined Togekiss backstage, setting Alcremie down with a barely audible splat of ice cream against the floor.
The next Duckletts continued in this fashion, each new typed move hitting a new ice sculpture until seventeen of them stood completed, each one more dramatic than the last as the mythical Swanna’s love for her chicks grew.
The Ghost duck sang with the eerie notes of Morelull’s Confuse Ray, the whistling harmonising nicely with wind still coursing through the Air Slash duck from before. Morelull’s Sludge Bomb attack had left another Ducklett oozing thick purple liquid, congealing around the base and dripping slowly down the ice.
The Rock and Ground ducks had been completed simultaneously, Glaceon’s Sand Attack clinging to the surface of one while Cubchoo’s Rock Tomb had filled the shell of another. Glaceon was one of the few pokemon still left sat on stage now, its Iron Tail reflecting nicely in all the lights and onto the body of another ice Ducklett, making it appear to have a metal coating.
The Electric duck still crackled with Slurpuff’s Thunderbolt, a violent thing that had shot down from the heavens and illuminated the entire stage for a split second. A candyfloss Sticky Web had ensnared another, stuffing the duck with layers of pink wire that pushed more of that same sugary sweet smell out onto the stage and into the audience.
Not all the Duckletts had had exciting creations (the Water type, for instance, was just slowly getting filled with the ice that was melting off of it), but the music was reaching its final part and they couldn’t afford to waste more time here.
Immediately after the second lull, as the crescendo started, Smoochum started to Sing along to the music, her voice perfectly matching the notes. Sealeo’s Aurora Beam combined with Florges’ Wish (she’d returned to the stage during the creation of the Duckletts) and sent a beam of rainbow light skyward, just as the Swanna had done when she’d wished for her chicks to be given life. The beam hovered against the ceiling, spreading out across it as it desperately sought some sort of answer to the prayers it carried, before Glaceon interrupted the moment with a yowl. It was the only warning she gave before unleashing a brutal Blizzard, feeding off of the Sheer Cold from the start of the performance and really letting the harsh winter seep in.
Molly and Margourette were dancing again, had been ever since Smoochum’s song had started, but their movements were more laboured than before. The cold was setting in, chilling their joints unpleasantly, eventually forcing them to cuddle together just to avoid the air whipping all around them. Ballet dresses were not the best insulators in the world, and yet the women braced themselves to endure it. They knew what was coming next in this story, and if it went according to plan it’d all be worth it.
They waded through the Blizzard snow until they came to kneel at the base of the Swanna sculpture, sheltering beneath her wings.
Finally, finally, the storm was split apart by Florges’ Sunny Day, lighting up the stage and warming everyone in the room. Smoochum’s song had hit its closing notes, the snow was rapidly melting and sending waves of water down into the audience, but none of that was the center of attention. Instead, as Molly and Margourette stood up once more, their costumes were illuminated by the rainbow light of the Swanna behind them, who was in turn illuminated by all the colours of her chicks surrounding her. Every ice shell had been filled with a different move to create a colour representative of its type, and the rays of the Sunny Day were now hitting them from all different angles, sending the light bouncing across the floor and straight into the figure of their mother.
It was beautiful, made more so by the way it made their contrasting costumes dazzle and shine, but Molly couldn’t tear her eyes away from her dancing partner. Margourette had one hand on her cheek, the other on her waist, and though no words were spoken Molly knew what was going to happen. As the music died out around them, the remaining pokemon leaving to join their teammates backstage, the two women were drawn closer and closer together until their faces were mere centimetres apart.
❝ Margourette, I… I-I’ve always- ❞
❝ Shh, mon ange. I know. I feel the same. ❞
And so, with the rainbow light of a mother’s love shining over them both, Molly and Margourette shared their first kiss. Not as friends, or Adreffian colleagues, but as lovers. Two souls devoted as deeply to one another as the Swanna was to her chicks.
Unrehearsed, cliche, but perfect all the same.

i forgive you for that scathing review of cubchoo 😔 (not every pokemon is going to be someone's favorite after all!), that said, i'd love to see what you think of ponyta!
Ponyta!!!!
Ponyta’s one of those archetypal Fire-types that consists of just taking a regular animal and setting it on fire. Normally that’d be a criticism, but it actually works quite well with a horse because mane to fire is such a natural conceptual transition. I’m pretty sure it’s an approach that’s been done frequently, but like, that’s because fire horses are just a good concept. Maybe a little boring, perhaps, but good. Also bad for riding, but don’t worry, it’s not hot if it likes you!
Being on fire isn’t Ponyta’s weirdest thing, though. Apparently it has hooves ten times harder than diamonds, which is a bit absurd. More surprising still is its obscene jumping ability, stated to be able to clear both the France’s Eiffel Tower and Australia’s Ayers Rock in a single leap. Which apparently EXIST in the pokemon universe, despite Kalos already having a Paris with an Eiffel Tower analogue, so like, what’s going on there. But yeah, despite some impressive physical feats and name-dropping, I’m kinda not that into Ponyta. It’s cute, sure, but horse on fire isn’t really a thing that personally grabs me.
So it’s a good thing we’ve got a Galarian Form to look at, too! Galarian Ponyta is a little Psychic-type pastel unicorn, with cuter proportions and cotton candy-like hair. It was revealed in the lead-up to Sword and Shield in a special promotional video framed like a wildlife cam, with teasing hints of Galarian Ponyta like individual body parts shown and its cry being heard before finally concluding with a proper reveal. Personally, it was the hypest bit of prerelease material there was, in large part because of how gosh-dang perfect Galarian Ponyta is! It’s got BEAUTIFUL colours and its mane and tail even light up!!!!!
Of course, a pastel unicorn screams Fairy-type, so it being Psychic instead was something of a shock. It makes sense, though, given it specialises in healing poison; Poison is weak to Psychic. This skill is further reflected in its signature ability, Pastel Veil, which prevents allies from being poisoned plus healing any existing poison conditions. Its horn also has healing properties in general, and in addition to that, it can read the “contents of your heart” through your eyes and detect evil. All very thematic for a unicorn!
Anyways, shiny Kantonian Ponyta has BLUE FIRE!!!!! The correct way to do a shiny for any Fire-type with visible fire, and one of the best shinies as a result. More Fire shinies should really do this, but not even its evolution Rapidash does. Shiny Galarian Ponyta swaps the lavender for an ivory colour, which is certainly pretty, but not nearly as pretty as the base colour scheme.
Overall, I may not be that into Kantonian Ponyta, but Galarian Ponyta is one of my favourite Psychic-types and probably my favourite regional variant, in addition to quite possibly being the best thing to come out of Gen VIII. It is SUCH a good design. Also, one last thing: it’s called the “Unique Horn” pokemon. Like, “uni-corn”. Good stuff.
My little cotton candy pony/10.

Contains: pure tooth-rotting fluff, mentions of past smut, its almost entirely fluff yall, some mild angst… but it gets fixed I promise!
AN: Y’all This was too fucking cute to not write. We stan BNHA Pikachu in this house. Okay? Happy Endings Only Club
Tags: @hisoknen
Legs tangled together beneath black sheets, his arm draped loosely over your chest. It was always like this after you two finished. He demanded to snuggle you, making sure he hadn’t actually hurt you while you two were going at it. Softly rubbing at your hips to ease the discomfort from being folded literally in half. Kissing your neck tenderly as he tries to release any tension he might have caused. You always gave him a half-hour of this. You said it was for him, that he needed it. But truth was, you wanted it. You couldn’t help but preen under the attention he paid to your blissed-out body. The way he thumbed over any marks he left, leaving butterfly kisses in his wake. Whispering softly how much he liked spending time with you.
You were falling for Kaminari Denki. The man you swore would remain just a fuck buddy. He told you when this started he wasn’t a settle down type. That he had too many hoes to satisfy to just settle down. And in the beginning you were content with that. Happy even. But as the months went on you couldn’t help the feelings that grew. It wasn’t your fault that every time he sent you a dumb meme your heart fluttered. Every time a cringy Tik Tok was sent your way laughter bubbled out. The selfies he sent on Snapchat with animal filters and voice changes melted your resolve. You were royally fucked.
More so when you moved to leave the bed. Ready to gather your hopelessly strewn clothing and preform the walk of heart breaking shame. Only this time, a soft hand reached for your wrist. “Hey, uh… It’s getting pretty late.” It really wasn’t. You’ve walked home later than this. “Crash here tonight? Bed’s plenty big for both of us.” The usually cocky blonde you had fallen for looked sheepish. Almost scared. A look that you hated seeing on his face. Not to mention leaving after he asked you so kindly to stay would break your heart.
Which is how you ended up with the blond using your chest as a pillow. Sleeping nearly on top of you. The softest of snores leaving him, while you ran your fingers over his bare back. Neither of you had gotten dressed last night, a fact you become very aware of when there is a knocking on his bedroom door when the sun starts to filter in through the drawn curtains.
“Denki! You promised we would hang out today. I miss my Pikachu!” A femenine voice. Someone who obviously belonged more than you did, because she clearly had a key to the apartment. Before Denki could rouse entirely, you were pushing him off. Hissing at him to go hang out with his hoe while you got dressed. He didn’t understand why you were mad? It was just Mina. Not that you had ever met the pink haired girl. To you she was just some girl coming to fuck Denki. Hang out was the code word he used with you when he wanted a booty call.
How could he have been so brazen to ask you to spend the night. Especially when he knew he had a booty call lined up for the crack of dawn! The blond hopped into a pair of lounge pants, nearly falling on his face in the struggle to get to Mina. Meanwhile you calmly collected the haphazardly thrown pieces belonging to you, and put them on slowly. As you left the room belonging to Denki, you saw a strange scene. The pink haired girl had his head in her lap, and tears openly fell down his face. Muttering that he fucked up.
“Den- Kaminari… are you okay?” Your head tilted. You fought the urge to go console him. Obviously the booty call had him. But he choked out a broken sob and shook his head no. Motioning you over. You didn’t want to be anywhere near his next lay, but you wanted him. So you relented. Kneeling in front of him, pushing back blond hair.
“Its only you. I cut everyone else off weeks ago. It’s just you. I know you don’t like me at all… that I’m just a good lay for you. But… Fuck, I want you. I want to parade you around and let all my friends meet you. It’s why Mina came over. She wanted to meet my Cubchoo.” You melted at the nickname. Remembering the brutal cold you had that earned the nickname from him. He took care of you then, always handing a tissue when your nose ran. Or asking if your soup needed reheating. But he had to be lying… he had been only seeing you? For weeks.
“You idiot. Pikachu, I choose you. Every damn time I choose you. Denki, I’ve been in love with you for weeks.”

i saw you have pokemon ocs, do you have plans to design your own region? :0
i actually already designed my own region - well, two, actually, since i have way too much free time on my hands haha. they’re known as the fairel region and the ordela region respectively; they’re opposites of each other in the sense that fairel is deeply enrooted in history and overflowing with nature, whereas ordela is home to technologically advanced metropolises and is overrun with crime and general disorder. fairel was created out of my long-held desire to experience a true open-world pokemon experience, chock full of beautiful locations to explore to your heart’s content without having to adhere to the same, linear routes and overall lack of content... and ordela was created solely so i could write a darker plot, similar to that of pokemon colosseum.
here are the gym leaders + elite four members for both of the regions!

POKEMON VERSE // daichi’s team [ revised ]
Originally born in Galar before moving to the Kanto region (where his parents were originally from), Daichi grew up always dreaming of someday being a trainer and achieving greatness. Buut as he gained more experience and traveled over the region, and then even more of the world, he changed his mind and realized that maybe a different route was better suited for himself. Becoming a ranger allowed him to help people in a more hands on way, while also being outdoors all the time. He loves his job, and enjoys the connection he has with all the wild pokemon.
Daichi’s first pokemon partner was a squirtle who had only recently reached it’s final evolution: blastoise. For the longest time though, it had remained a wartortle - neither pokemon nor trainer felt there was any real need for it to evolve, they were content with things as they were. It was only after Daichi became a ranger and there had been a large scale wildfire that wartortle evolved into blastoise in order to better help control the damage.
Another pokemon from his trainer days is his corviknight, though more rambunctious, it had grown into a great partner for helping evacuating and transporting those who needed medical help. Corviknight had actually been hatched from an egg that Daichi’s father gave him towards the end of his training days, a gift to his son for becoming a strong trainer.
Lucario had actually been a wild pokemon that Daichi met in his early days as a ranger. The pokemon often liked to cause mischief for Daichi, and the two had decided to form a partnership after Daichi and wartortle saved it from a flood.
The last of Daichi’s original three pokemon is arcanine, and is a huge cuddle fiend. It was the pokemon that took the easiest to Daichi’s career change, loving the fact that they were spending more time outside and amongst other pokemon. Arcanine had always been friendly, and never cared much for non-friendly battles.
The oddball of Daichi’s team is blissey. So soft and pink, it sticks out among the larger and more intimidating pokemon, and yet it is also the most bossy. The mother hen of the group, Blissey was the one who initiated the partnership between it and Daichi, having been a random Blissey at the local Poke Center, it both admired Daichi’s team for saving so many pokemon, and hated how Daichi’s team had a proclivity for getting scratched up in the process. Now team injuries (specifically Daichi’s injuries as he was the one getting into harm’s way the most) have decreased by a large margin.
Beartic was the last to join the team. Originally an aggressive wild pokemon, Bearic had been abandoned as a cubchoo and had been saved by Daichi and Blissey, who healed Cubchoo. After nursing it back to health, it decided to stay with Daichi’s team, and even after it evolved, still enjoys curling up with Blissey at night, and playing in the water with Blastoise. It’s clear that beartic is the youngest and most playful of the group. While on the job, it learned how to make icicles to help people that may be suffering from heatstroke, though it has a lot to learn before Daichi feels ready to take it out on missions with just him.
I CONTINUE TO SOB AT HOW CUTE DAICHI’S TEAM USED TO BE

I’d like to ask for your advice. I have a very frail, sickly son, who just became 12 years old. He can’t go outside much and gets sick quite easily. My husband and I decided to catch a Pokémon for him, and he said he preferred an ice type. The only ice types near our home are Vanillite and Cubchoo. Which one would you recommend we’d catch? Because of our son’s weak constitution, we’d prefer a Pokémon that doesn’t require a lot of exercise to keep them happy and healthy.
This is a bit of a tough decision, admittedly, but it hinges on whether or not your son would like a pokémon capable of evolution.
You see, if we’re only considering base evolutions, vanillite is actually the harder of the two to care for. While it doesn’t need much in terms of basic care (it only needs water and food and is perfectly content staying indoors, playing easier games with its owners), it does require cold at all times. This means an air conditioned room in your home all year round, as well as enough space in a freezer for it to rest if it gets sick. Technically, it can survive at warmer temperatures, but you may find that it will be a bit more lethargic than how it was when you caught it.
Conversely, cubchoo doesn’t necessarily require cold; it simply prefers it. If trained properly, cubchoo can survive at pretty much any temperature short of tropical or desert heat. However, it’s a far more active pokémon than vanillite and requires daily exercise and training. On the other hand, a daily walk or an easy game of fetch may be enough for some cubchoo, but this only means you’ll need to be careful when selecting your catch. The cubchoo you give your son must be of a calmer nature, or you’ll find that it will need a more active lifestyle than what your son may be able to provide.
Conversely, if your son evolves his pokémon, then the advantages will be flipped, so to speak. As a vanillite progresses up its evolution chain, its ice powers will grow stronger and stronger. In turn, this means it will gain the ability to adjust the temperature immediately surrounding it to its own liking, which will make keeping one indoors a much easier task. (As a side note, yes, some vanilluxe gain the ability Snow Warning as a result of its strengthening powers. Many believe this to mean that it will always be hailing whenever one is present, but this is only true on the battlefield. Otherwise, a tame vanilluxe with the Snow Warning ability will just be keenly capable of producing that cold aura.) Meanwhile, its needs, including its activity requirements, will likely stay roughly the same, and it’s likewise a very easygoing and caring pokémon.
On the other hand, beartic are notoriously more difficult to care for. It is, after all, a giant bear with ice powers, and as such, its appetite will grow considerably, its space requirements will increase, and, most importantly, it will require more vigorous exercise than before. (Again, it’s possible to have a more sedentary lifestyle with a beartic, but it’s not particularly healthy.) Likewise, remember that beartic are apex predators, and they need to be trained behaviorally as well. Otherwise, their tempers, which they are also notorious for, can be quite dangerous to anyone around their trainers.
So ultimately, it comes down to this: if your son has no intent of evolving his pokémon, consider a cubchoo. Catch a docile one and give it an everstone, and your son will have a partner who will be fairly easy to care for.
If, however, he would prefer to let his partner evolve, catch a vanillite. Just be sure you have enough room in your freezer for it, or help your son train it until it’s ready to evolve. Either way, over the long term, vanillite’s evolutions are excellent indoor companions.
Best of luck!

This post will be very long, so I’ll put the majority of the content under “read more”
I want to explain how I've divided the Pokemon to each continent and why. On bulbapedia dot net, you can see the base-stats of each Pokemon. There are 6 stats (HP, Attack, Defence, Special Attack, Special Defence and Speed) and six continents. So I appointed each stat to one continent:
HP: South America
Attack: Asia
Defence: Europe
Special Attack: Oceania
Special Defence: North America
Speed: Africa
So each evolution-line appears in 3 continents; associated by their 3 highest base stats. As an example, a Squirtle's 3 highest stats are, in order: Defence, Special Defence and Special Attack. That means Squirtle would appear in Europe, North America and Oceania. A Squirtle living in the wild on one of the other continents would be extremely rare.
Legendary and mythical Pokemon are only put into one continent, with their highest base-stat deciding which one, and also more specifically only resides in one country. The country the legendary/mythical Pokemon can be found in will be mentioned between ellipses, "( )".
As for which country each legendary/mythical Pokemon appear in, I've chosen countries that are the least densely populated compaired to land mass/size, as such Pokemon are almost always described to prefer living away from humans.
For the few Pokemon that has more than one base-stat be an equal number (Attack+Defence being equally high, for an example), has been placed in the continent which lacks more Pokemon, so as to even out the amount of Pokemon appearing in each continent.
Please do not be discouraged if your favourite Pokemon don't appear in your continent. This is only for fun and speculations!
