as for my creative process, it's hard to explain, as i feel like the designs kind of just come out of me all once lol- but i usually find myself thinking about a very specific, central emotion that the story (or a particular part of it) made me feel. like for the hxh tapestry, the image of gon in the middle was the most important part and was something i thought of first (it's such a singular moment in hxh that encompasses all the themes of childhood trauma and grief that i find really emotional). lately i'm obsessed with making images that HIT you, though i still have a lot to learn there. i think the tapestry format speaks to me because i can focus on flat compositions, something i didn't let myself do in years prior because i wanted to work on realism, supposedly (HA). looking for inspo from different eras of old tapestry work is really interesting, too- there's such a focus on shape in older cultural art like that idk. i probably also watched disney's sleeping beauty too much as a kid...

and as for the anime / manga i choose, there's certain stuff that probably wouldn't hit as hard as a tapestry, but i think i'm going to explore some weirder stuff as i go lmao. my favorite part of fanart is interpreting something through my own style & lens, so hxh is really great in particular because it doesn't have like, medieval aesthetics but the chimera ant arc has the density and tone of, like, ancient mythology to me, if that makes sense, so the imagery is very fun to work with. i sound insane probably but obviously all the influences from buddhism, for example, really create this like, mythological storybook feel to the plot that makes me crazy. and berserk and dungeon meshi obviously are fantasy stories and that lends itself easily to a fun tapestry design, lol. i really just draw whatever i'm obsessed with in the moment in general with fanart so it's about catching me at the right time... aside from haikyuu, i'm thinking about making tapestries involving persona 5, evangelion, bloodborne, and also more berserk and hxh but we'll see what happens. you probably didn't expect me to write such a long answer but i'm feeling chatty right now apparently

Do you think Bart would every tell Ed, Jay, or Jaime (or anyone else) about anything regarding his past? Alternatively, do you think any of his loved ones would infer certain thoughts based on his actions, scars, etc? Super curious as to what you think (dissecting all Bart thoughts on your brain fr)

this is one of those things that varies depending on what type of plots or seasons of YJ i’m thinking about. All in all, i do think Jaime could know the most primarily because of his (or rather Blue Beetles) involvement in Barts time. I just feel like generally, it would start because he’d just want to know exactly what type of atrocities blue beetle is capable of and also out of some type of (albeit unecessary but he’s a little sensitive like that) self sacrificial/hating form of repenting, but of course with the passage of time when he becomes genuine good friends with bart he also just wants to know out of concern for his friend. And because he probably already knows the most to begin with, and is possibly bart’s first closest friend, it just makes it easier for bart to divulge the extra details if he’s either in the right mood or prompted in some way. Because Jaime already has a grasp on the major things, it would be very easy for Bart to just build on what he already knows. Theres a lot of potential for complexities to be considered in this, like mixed feelings of jaimes guilt / bart possibly having some innate sense of hate at the very early stages of talking about it and having no problem making jaime feel bad / bart starting to completely genuinely like jaime (if he didn’t from the get go) and then feeling guilty about his friend needing to share the burden. Just a lot to consider in what it means for Bart to share about his past with him. In terms of to what extent and how much bart shares with him, well that can be up to debate, but i do feel like Jaime can possibly have the best idea of it among bart’s family/friends circle.

With Ed I feel like it would be very unnatural for him to know as many details as Jaime for the first few years, i just don’t see bart divulging such details without making Ed into a “therapist friend” type of character, which i don’t see him being, because it’s not a nice type of friendship to have, and i don’t see Bart jumping into that type of friendship either. Doesn’t mean Ed isn’t incredibly sympathetic nor a good friend to talk to about these things, nor that he doesn’t use his background to prompt these types of talks. It just means that throughout the course of their friendship, whilst he probably has gotten more details than most people, you know as a result of actually getting to know someone especially if ur interested in them, doesn’t mean that Bart is prompted to share as much about the gory details of major things of his past. I imagine that throughout the possible collection of tender moments they might have shared between eachother, he has probably gotten the jist in a summary type of sense. Maybe as they start dating, he’s more motivated to be a bit more upfront on things out of curiosity and attributing certain traits that can be explained by understanding someone better, and bart would also feel more comfortable to just naturally talk about things too.

in terms of family, I feel like because Jay and Joan spent the most time with him due to living together, they might have inferred quite a bit of things, but not early enough that would be expected of them being u know, his guardians. I kind of go into this in the next chapter of AAIT (which takes on a very different pace/setting compared to the previous chapters)

Barry is kind of hopeless, if he knows anything it’s either through others or by some stroke of luck lmfao

Iris probably infers quite a bit herself and probably has some good talks with Bart

Generally i don’t think it’s something Bart is intentionally hiding for the sake of keeping it a secret, he just doesn’t have any crazy incentive to divulge these things in the first place. i think the most natural thing is for him to just drop things here and there and if anyones paying attention or can put the 2 and 2 together, they can infer quite a few things about him. Because like i said he’s not explicitly hiding it, he’s just kind of counter intuitively low-key like that . something that also helps him with this alot is the fact that he’s a time traveler in the first place. alot of things can be handwaved away by ppl with the fact that has “not from here” rather than because “he’s from that specific timeline” of that makes any sense.

ok this isnt relevant to my answer but i really love that i come across as respectable and approachable enough to have u curious about my thoughts. says im doing something right i really love it when ppl discuss things with me talking is truly one of my favorite things ever as im sure is obvious (which is kinda ironic cuz im pretty quiet irl </3)

anyway this is a hard question. pretty predictable based on what ends up on this blog tho. id say rouge, sonic, blaze, and shadow and i couldnt narrow it down between them more, though i do suppose sonic's place there is a little complicated...... im not quite sure what to think of him as a character.... u said u liked hearing my thoughts so im gonna chew on something for u a little bit. big paragraph incoming, lol.

i feel like my opinions on him are not ones held by the majority in this fanbase, at least based on who i follow. he is interesting as a thematic center, a steady rock from which the rest of the story builds upon, but not as like... a person...... some of my favorite stories in the series involve other characters learning from him or reacting to principles he is unwavering on, and its reoccuring enough of a pattern that i feel safe in saying its a staple of the series. it is through an outsiders eyes where i feel like sonic is the most interesting, not as a paragon of freedom but as someone who despite his personality flaws already knows who he is and what he stands for and doesnt have much growth to do. in relation, based on how they interact with him, we can understand what other characters think of the world and what they stand for. i do see lots of the "sonic should be static" sentiment especially on yt but i dont quite think it has to do with how to write him correctly so much as his place in the character web. if sonic is off-kilter than everyone else feels so as well, because lots of their arcs are built off of how their perspective on him has changed or forced them to grow. sonic stories based entirely on, say, an origin story or told through his perspective have never captivated me, i find them boring and ive kind of had to accept what i view as fanon characterization (or more charitably, just a variation on a characterization which i dont prefer, since he has been written so differently in canon within the series lifetime. basically anything is "in-character" for sonic based on what years ur talking about...) in order to interact with lots of fandom content, a lot of which is sonic-focused-sonic-pov stuff. i also feel like some of this is why i feel so disconnected from the stories of the games where the player only controls sonic. im not sure what that says about how interesting i find him on his own, and not quite sure whether this qualifies him as a "favorite character" if i think hes most interesting when used as a storytelling device, lmfao

my favourite part of writing is writing about jimin getting fucked stupid. no, i'm only joking (i'm not). i think the fun of writing for me is just getting to tell a story, honestly. i want to flesh out all the daydreams i have and i get super excited when i can execute well on a plot i've been ruminating on for ages.

it's the creativity you get to explore! also, i rly do love writing porn haha like...it is truly one of my greatest joys getting to write some really fucknasty porn but i will say that these days i have the desire to write a more plot heavy and complex piece! sometimes the joy of writing is just being able to prove to yourself that you can write something complex and that you can explore themes you find personally fascinating.

also, sometimes what gets me excited is just being able to put a little piece of myself in a story/getting to explore something i've been struggling with or having difficulty expressing. i struggled with writing intimacy for a while because it made me so uncomfortable but i'm so much better at it now. it's cool to see my own development -3-
