You sometimes post videos of people with lots of different hanfu with accessories and whatnot, and I have to wonder, it must be expensive! Our national costume here is $2,500 for women (that's before the silver, shirt and other accessories) and $5,700 for men (before same accessories). I'm sure it's not as expensive as that, but it makes me sweat just looking at it o_o
It depends. Some hanfu is practically fast fashion these days but if it’s the good stuff from boutiques it can be pricier, or if it’s custom/handmade obviously.
Even so, garments can range from under 100rmb (14usd) to 1000rmb (140 usd).

Just kinda... putting this out into the universe for right now, but I've been thinking really hard about getting my old enamel pin collections back in circulation, as well as maybe releasing them as stickers as well (for a budget option and also for things you can't put enamel pins on). I had to throw out basically all my remaining stock when I moved (which... oouugh it still hurts), so I might essentially run a "reboot" kickstarter to get another batch of Dire Hounds made and then try again to get the full Grimalkins set funded. A few things this would let me do:
update the templates for slightly cleaner manufacturing, and update the backer cards with accurate artist info because man that was really bothering me
like I said, hopefully get the second half of the Grimalkins produced so they're a proper six-pin collection like the first one
network! Now that I'm in a big city I think I honestly might have better luck with consignment stores and craft fairs than I ever did with only an online shop, and more visibility can only mean good things.
I'm also still definitely planning to make idog merch, and beyond that I'd potentially love to lean even further into the cyberpunk and y2k aesthetics to really hone my Brand™, but obviously that requires original thought and creative effort while getting the dogs and cats remade just requires pulling the old AI files off my poor aging iMac.

Social media is turning evil and shitty unfortunately. I’ve seen a lot of posts about google but I also want to bring up what used to be one of my favorite social media sites, Pinterest. It’s been algorithmed SO MUCH that it’s unusable. I’ll even use a couple of examples:
So this is a basic search, right? Well it’s algorithmed for me because I’ve actually already saved at least three of these pins. A pain in or itself because I use Pinterest to find new stuff and inspiration but whatever. However say I want to search up something completely different?
In this case I searched poses, something I do often for reference. However as you can see that there are some things that should not be in here? Sure I could reference that pearl one for a pose but the atla art isn’t remotely what I’m looking for. It’s harder to spot in other cases but I mostly use Pinterest for outfit inspo, however I can’t search ANYTHING new because every search is filled with stuff similar to or what I’ve already saved. I could look up goth y2k grunge stuff and the cutesy streetwear relaxed painter looks are flooded in there. I use Pinterest to find NEW things not stuff I already know I like. I’ve basically stopped using it for outfit inspo and only to find art references (which is still difficult to do but better than google at least)

Yet another Jotun Loki pin mod, which was kind of challenging actually because this one seems to be epoxy over soft enamel, and soft enamel (or blanks) is easiest for keeping paint inside the lines. The main lesson on this one is yikes I have got to be at least slightly bolder with the facial markings if I’m going to do them at all—they’re here but you can barely see them.

Just a new lvl of KP unhingeness
I dabble in making jewels, and Kim's safety pin was awesome but also Jeff Satur is one personification of gender envy...
Hence why I made more than one Safety pin necklace in sterling silver with pearls...
Then here's the think the plan was to make one for @cloudburst-ink and I wanted them to truly and fully enjoy the final piece. So I bugged Corvus with question and the result is this collaborative design
I'm pretty proud of the result

wait you got me so invested in the stammer & heddy tailor au....
this is my standard disclaimer that i have never posted a fic on ao3* and for however much i say “au” i truly mean that it’s a universe that lives in my head & i am absolutely delighted to tell you all about, all the time <3 if it helps i ALSO got me so invested in the heddy & stammer tailor au
ok now that the author’s note is out of the way here’s some notes about the not!fic heddy & stammer tailor au:
stammer as the tailor from gent’s playbook, very reserved, quiet, with an excellent eye for details (honestly the evidence i have for his style sense is just that he’s best friends with pk subban so it has to be there somewhere if only by proxy irl) is hired by victor hedman, star of the tampa bay lightning who is every other tailor’s nightmare to dress (huge, opinionated, fashionable)
heddy is decently well-known throughout the league for being very well-dressed & becomes quietly well known for also being one of his new tailor’s favorite loyal customers [heddy has the nicest fabrics. he has his suits the first day a new collection drops & e v e r y o n e is jealous]
stammer’s business booms after heddy takes a chance on him as his first big client & promotes him, heddy sees him grow in popularity & get more clients
heddy also moonlights as a model for stammer’s suits on instagram, initially to help him grow his business because then he won’t have to pay for a model and then because he’s over there all the time anyway because they’re dating (that’s why the model’s face is never in the pictures)
there’s not really a plot to this besides the vague idea of a plot where stammer makes heddy his lucky suit that he wins the cup in & sews a special little tag into the lining of his jacket that says i love you
because love sometimes is picking out the perfect right color pocket square to match your husband’s beautiful suit that you fitted like a kiss to the curves of his huge body
& also sometimes love is making your beautiful husband who makes you beautiful clothing enjoy nice things for himself once in a while, like the fancy watch you bought him or the nice suit you custom-ordered for him (from him) just so you could take it off of him
