The sterile scent of antiseptic and other chemical cleaning agents clung to the air, it had replaced the metallic smell of blood.
Those were the few things you noticed before the sharp pain entered your neck, the needle once again inserted.
"It's okay. Just go back to sleep" Megumi softly pled while his shaky thumb was pressing on the plunger to once again sedate you.
Though this was his father's orders, he also didn't want you to see the fallout of your actions, the actions that wouldn't have come to fruition had he not lied to you in the first place.
It was like warm milk as a child right before bed, the solution to render you unconscious. Over and over you were forced back into a state of dreamless sleep by Megumi, there was no use in fighting.
You wouldn’t win.
There was no evidence of how long you’d been stuck here, cuffed to the bed that had become your own personal prison.
That sterile smell was no longer as pungent, it no longer burnt your nostrils as you took in a fresh breath. Megumi was lost in his own head replaying every memory since the day you met, trying to find a reason to be angry with you, but he couldn’t.
You both had betrayed each other and now you were both in your own personally made, hand-crafted prisons.
It took a few tries over a few minutes to open your eyes, no longer did your eyelids feel far too heavy to be held open.
It took about as much time to realize that the familiar prick of the needle had seized, someone was allowing you to wake up, to become aware. No more blood was visible on your body, you seemed unscathed.
”My resentments begun to outweigh my love for you, Megumi-”
The words came out raspy and cold as you stared at the back of your boyfriend's head. There he was sitting at the edge of the bed, your prison.
“I know.” His lips found themselves pursed, thanking whatever higher power that you decided to make your admission while he wasn’t facing you.
Over the course of nearly 27 hours, he had worked tirelessly with Toji and a few other associates to disassemble and dispose of Nobaras body, a few vials of blood specimens collected from her, and dental records destroyed.
Megumi had emptied his stomach more times than he could count, dehydration making him dizzy. The anger and hatred toward his father still couldn’t trump the love and admiration he held for you, the need to save you,  yet all of those emotions had begun to blend together.
He was traumatized, in survival mode, and knew he couldn’t actually let you nor Toji find out his true emotions or intent. His father was a man capable of many things, how far would be too far when it comes to bringing this situation up to Toji?
The metal cuffs clinked as you rustled around atop the plush covers. Why did you not feel anything about having taken the life of your best friend?
During the few seconds of silence following Megumi's reply, that was the only thought in your head.
“Can you-... let me out?” And before Megumi had a chance to answer, Toji stepped into the room and cleared his throat, eyeing Megumi and then you before walking toward you.
"That depends, darling. Are you going to hurt Megumi?" The question seemed absurd, given your current vulnerable position, but deep down, it was the most rational question to ask.
"Not physically," there was hesitation in your voice, your eyes locked with Toji's, sharing an unspoken understanding of the severity of the situation. There was a moment of what felt like a standoff, of intimidation between the two of you, a silent agreement that spoke volumes.
Toji knew you were cut out for this, he knew a lot more about you than your mind could conceive.
The dark and hungry feeling of your eyes shifted towards Megumi as Toji inserted the key into the locks, freeing you from your restraints. You winced as you moved, feeling the ache and burning sensation of circular bruises that marred all four of your limbs.
Both Toji and Megumi eyed you with intrigue and slight concern as you couldn't help but grunt in pain as you rubbed the indents, realizing that no amount of rubbing would soothe the lingering discomfort.
"I know you're still foggy," Toji spoke softly, sitting close to you, closer than Megumi dared. He reached up and tenderly tucked away the loose strands of your hair, his touch gentle yet commanding. "But we have a plane to catch. Let's call it a vacation."
Your gaze shifted from Megumi's restless fingers with a slow blink, and your thick lashes fluttered back open, your attention now fixed on the smirk that adorned Toji's lips.
Toji had recalibrated his plans, redirecting them from Megumi towards you. He had recognized your natural skill, the inherent talent you possessed.
In his eyes, you were a natural-born killer, possessing traits that harmonized with his own, making you the ideal candidate to not only carry on his legacy.
The traits you carried would blend well with his own to create the perfect heir to his dynasty. Sure there were obstacles in the way, but he had you now and there was no way Toji would let you escape him.
★・・・★
Half a day had passed since you found yourself on a plane for the first time in your life. Neither of you bothered to pay attention to the other men who had boarded and joined Toji in a separate room.
Megumi's brows furrowed, creating creases on his forehead that revealed the complex emotions swirling within him. Across the cabin, his stare met yours, locked in a silent exchange of mixed feelings.
This little game between you and Megumi had been going on for hours, with Toji observing your every move from a separate room on the company jet's video monitors.
The tension was palpable as you sat at the braced wooden table, your palm idly gliding across its surface, while the glass in your other hand tilted to your mouth, the intensity of your gaze unnerving Megumi.
The cloudy sake cascaded over the ice cubes, its bitterness seeping into your throat as the engines roared louder, signifying the plane's ascent.
As the private jet soared through the sky, your outrageously expensive red-bottom heels tapped against the plush carpet beneath you, the hushed thuds adding an air of anticipation.
The flip in your stomach prompted you to hastily consume the last drop of the bitter alcohol, the ice pressing against your crimson lipstick, leaving a tingling sensation.
Earlier that day, you had been attended to by a woman who bathed you, styled your hair, and dressed you in an ensemble that cost more than your car.
Toji had made sure that an entire wardrobe was meticulously packed and brought onto the plane, further illustrating the opulence that now surrounded you.
It was in the moment when the corners of Megumi's mouth turned upward that the glass in your hand was abruptly whipped in his direction, shattering against the wall beside his head. Fragments of glass rained down, some landing on his shirt, a testament to the mounting tension between the two of you.
Toji's sudden emergence from the room sent a jolt of unease through the cabin. His eyes flickered with a mix of calculation and satisfaction as he glanced at both of you.
There was no need for him to inquire about what had transpired; he had been watching, observing every move.
Tojis forest green eyes narrowed at Megumi briefly before moving and set on you, his brow raising just slightly along with the corner of his mouth. The teeth in your mouth were grinding against each other while his were visible in a clearly entertained grin.
Megumi felt as if his heart had just gotten hooked on the edge of his rib when his father chuckled a bit, watching his deliberate and unsettling calm stride towards you.
Tojis thumb and pointer fingers hooked under your chin, directing your gaze to meet his intense stare. His eyes ran up and down your entire form, taking in the sight before he leaned in closer.
Fuck you were perfect.
“Be a good girl for now , okay?” It was less of a question than an order. Something about it made you strive to please him, earlier in the day he had informed you that he was going to be training you during the ‘vacation’ anyways.
“I think I can manage that , Sensei.” Tojis pupils grew larger at your tantalizing response. You were doing so well, maybe he wouldn’t have to resort to other methods.
Without hesitation, Toji pressed his lips against yours, the kiss starting with a deceptive tenderness before igniting a fierce passion that consumed the space between you. The intensity of the kiss left you breathless as if he was devouring the very air from your lungs, leaving you breathless and craving more.
A depraved moan left your throat when Toji broke the kiss, his lips hovering near yours, eyes locked with yours.
Toji had made sure that Megumi would be getting the best view.
“Go get someone to clean this up, Megumi”
His firm words reverberated into your mouth, sending chills down your spine. You knew Megumi well enough to sense the heat rising in his face. He felt a mix of embarrassment and frustration.
Unable to tear his gaze away from the scene unfolding before him, his fists involuntarily clenched at his sides. With a strained throat clearing, he stood up, silently acknowledging his father's command, and made his way to find someone to attend to the shattered glass.
‘He deserves this. He deserves this.’ You repeated in your head as Megumi left the room.
Toji effortlessly lifted your body onto the table, his strong arms supporting you as if you weighed nothing. Your arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, pulling you closer to him, while your legs found their place around his hips. The proximity between you intensified a physical connection that mirrored the underlying power dynamics at play.
The deep crimson hue of your maxi dress hugged your figure in all the right places, accentuating your curves with an undeniable allure. It matched the shade of your perfectly applied lipstick, a testament to your meticulous attention to detail.
This was one of the qualities that Toji admired in you—the way you always made a conscious effort to present yourself flawlessly. And now, under his guidance, he would ensure that you were adorned with even more luxury and refinement.
“As much as i’d love to absolutely ravage you right here ,-” Toji pressed kisses to your neck , careful to avoid the bruises and needle holes on your neck.
“- I’d prefer to take my time with you and this is a short flight, Princess.”
The air crackled with tension and anticipation as Toji held you close, his grip possessive yet protective.
“That's not fair.” The tips of your freshly manicured nails dug into his neck as you began to pout, and he couldn’t help but cock a brow in amusement.
“It’s hot when you talk back” Tojis's hand dipped down your inner thigh, between your parted legs to grab ahold of the thin, lacey panties you wore. Swiftly they were pulled down and skilled fingers made contact with your clit effortlessly, a breath pulled from you.
“So wet..” Toji wore a devious smirk, his free hand tugged your panties all the way off and tucked them in his shirt pocket.
“M’gonna be keeping these, and your thighs are shaking so much, princess. Be good and relax for me, I promise i’ll make it up later.”  Toji simultaneously gave each of your plush outer thighs a squeeze before your attention was quickly diverted as a familiar face caught your eye. It was the older woman who had attended to you earlier, the one who had taken care of your bathing and grooming.
“Mr Fushiguro, theres a call for you.” Toji deadpanned when his name was called by a familiar voice, one that made you feel nearly sick. Of course, Satoru would be here. Now. And likely knew what had transpired between you and Nobara.
Your mind was reeling, and you couldn't help but wonder how you hadn't noticed the others boarding the plane. The games of revenge with Megumi had consumed your focus, blurring your perception of reality. Or maybe the drugs? ; Most likely a combination of both.
Toji turned his gaze back to you, his hand sliding up your back to rest at the nape of your neck. He gave a gentle squeeze, a silent reassurance. Before he broke away, he placed one last deep kiss on your lips, leaving you breathless and wanting more.
"Relax for now, my princess. We'll be in Kyoto in just a few minutes," Toji whispered, his voice laced with a mixture of comfort and anticipation. He gave you a knowing wink, and a forced grin formed on your lips as you glanced toward the doorframe.
And there he was, Gojo, peeking around with his smuggest smirk and a phone in hand, a clear sense of mischief in his eyes. The situation was becoming even more complicated and surreal.
After Toji rounded the corner and closed the door with Gojo, the older woman briefly inspected you before heading off in the same direction with the cleaning supplies. The sense of being watched pervaded the air, the black lenses of the cameras positioned in the corners serving as a constant reminder of the scrutiny surrounding you.
Your hands trembled slightly, urging you to hop down from the table and smooth out your dress. The need to escape the prying eyes pushed you towards the bathroom, which happened to be on the opposite side of the plane. You hurriedly made your way, almost tripping in your haste, until you reached the sanctuary of the bathroom. With a loud snap, the folding door closed behind you.
Sweaty palms pressed against the door, and your chest heaved rapidly as anxiety consumed you. You didn't think it could get any worse, but then you felt arms wrapping around you, a large hand covering your mouth.
The suddenness of the gesture sent shockwaves through your body, and you froze, except for the rapid rise and fall of your breathing.
"Shh, Y/N, please don't freak out. We just need to talk," Megumi's hushed voice filled the confined space. Your entire being tensed, your heart pounding against your ribcage.
Watery eyes met Megumi's as he turned you around to face him, his own eyes bloodshot, a telltale sign of tears shed—probably from crying, undoubtedly from crying.
Staring at Megumi, the anger bubbling up within you as his words sank in. A dirty look was cast his way, a mix of shock and frustration etched onto your features. What the hell was he thinking? How could he expect you to trust him after everything that had happened?
"Nod your head if you'll be quiet," he pleaded, voice growing louder with a sense of urgency. Reluctantly, you nodded, signaling your compliance. He slowly removed his hand from your mouth, allowing you to speak, but your wariness remained.
"Y/N, please, I don't give a shit if you slit my throat right here, but at least let me explain what happened... with Nobara and with my dad," Megumi pleaded desperately, his voice filled with raw emotion.
”You don’t get whats gonna happen over the next few weeks..” The gravity of the situation was evident in his words, but given the recent events and the tangled web of deceit, it was natural for you to question whether you should trust him now.
"Megumi, you cheated on me with my best friend," you retorted, your anger and hurt spilling over. Your fists clenched tightly, and Megumi's grip on your forearms tightened. Beads of sweat formed along his hairline, reflecting the intensity of the moment.
"For months," you added, the bitterness in your voice seeping through. The mere thought of him betraying you with your closest confidante caused an involuntary recoil, as you tried to pull away from him. But then, Megumi's words took a sharp turn, shocking you to your core.
"You fucked my dad, gave him your virginity, and even relapsed," he fired back, the words biting with a mix of anger and pain. Audibly drawing a breath through his nose, he attempted to regain control of his emotions. "I... I'm sorry," he stammered, his voice laced with remorse.
Megumi's apology hung in the air, his words heavy with regret and remorse. You could see the pain etched on his face, mirroring the turmoil within your own heart. Despite the hurt and anger that consumed you, a part of you couldn't help but acknowledge the sincerity in his voice.
Silence filled the small bathroom, broken only by the sound of your ragged breaths. The weight of the situation settled upon you both, the truth laid bare and impossible to ignore. It was a moment of reckoning, where the choices made and the consequences faced collided in a collision of emotions.
Finally, you found the strength to speak, your words escaping in a fragile whisper. "Megumi... I don't know how to process all of this. We both messed up," you confessed, your voice tinged with vulnerability.
The pain of betrayal mingled with the remnants of love and the fragments of a bond that had once seemed unbreakable. "I... I killed her, and it felt... so easy."
Megumi's gaze softened as he reached out, his hand gently cupping your cheek, his touch causing you to wince ever so slightly. "I understand. But listen... just do whatever my dad tells you to do. Go with it, you have the natural talent for it anyways." he replied, his voice carrying a mix of sorrow and determination.
"I know I can't change the past, but I want to make things right. I want to earn back your trust, no matter how long it takes. To keep you alive and as safe as possible." There was a flicker of hope in his eyes, though his voice wavered slightly at the last sentence.
"In Kyoto, we'll be going to a private estate owned by the Fushiguro and Zenin families. Toji found something in you that he has been searching for, and it's not just about your looks, babe," Megumi explained, his voice filled with a mixture of uncertainty and significance.
"You're about to start training to take my place in the organization."
In that moment, the gravity of your situation began to weigh heavily upon you. Training to take Megumi's place? What was his role supposed to be? The memories of the night of Nobara's death were hazy as if veiled by a fog that clouded your thoughts.
A deep breath did little to alleviate the weight on your chest.
"Megumi, what was your intended role?" you asked with hesitation, your words laden with the weight of curiosity and trepidation. As a ding resonated through the entire vessel, signaling the plane's descent, the pressure in the room seemed to increase, amplifying the tension that filled the air.
The bathroom door swung open, ushering in a gust of cold air that grazed the exposed skin on your back, concealed by the fabric of your dress. You watched as Megumi's gaze drifted past you, his grip on your arms loosening.
"Hey, Megumi, whatcha doin here with my favorite girl?" Satoru's voice rang with false cheerfulness, his presence disrupting the fragile peace that had settled between you and Megumi. The danger that loomed over you intensified, fueling your curiosity about the secrets they held, the truths they concealed. The answer you were about to receive from Megumi was now left only to your imagination.
"Don't fucking touch me," you snapped, elbowing Gojo forcefully in the ribs as he attempted to drape his arm over your shoulders. Despite your resistance, he managed to grab hold of your hair, leaning in closer while catching his breath.
"Just sit down before Toji sees this. Consider it a favor, and remember it," Gojo whispered beside your ear, his cerulean eyes locked with Megumi.
A seemingly calm Megumi could only watch as your face turned blank like a mirror, allowing Gojo to guide you back to your seat, positioning himself across the table from you. Megumi followed close behind and retook his previous seat, now clean from the mess of your rage.
As the plane descended toward Kyoto, a sense of anticipation filled the air, mingling with a touch of nervousness. The engines hummed in a steady rhythm, echoing the rhythm of your own racing heart.
The cabin door swung open, and Toji stepped into the space, emanating a commanding presence. The atmosphere shifted, the weight of his stature palpable. Megumi's eyes redirected to peer out the window avoiding the sight of his father joining them, emotions a mix of surprise and intrigue.
Toji's gaze met yours, a hint of affection and concern flickering in his eyes. A gentle smile curved his lips, softening his typically stoic expression. There was a glass in his hand, your favorite pineapple sake inside. Toji placed it in front of you with a clink before taking a seat across from you, right beside Satoru.
“It’s your favorite.” Toji encouraged with a toothy grin. “But you need to drink all of it right now .” There was a sudden bump as the plane made contact with the runway, you gasped. The perfect distraction for you to shoot Megumi a glance, one he would recognize as you asking for his opinion . His eyes closed in disdain as he nodded his head to signal yes.
“Thank you so much, Toji...Sensei.”  His cock twitched and you bowed a bit before your hand clasped the glass, you guzzled down the drink as quickly as possible. Before setting it down you caught a glance of a white powder thinly pasted on the bottom.
Fuck, you had finally sobered up off these drugs. The plan was to arrive in Kyoto with a clear head.
Toji's expression turned serious once he saw you break the poker face you’d been upholding so well, his gaze piercing through you.
"It's a necessary precaution, my dear," he replied, his tone calm yet tinged with an air of secrecy.
"The substance in the drink will help you calm down and get rest for the activities during our time in Kyoto." Toji rubbed the back of his neck, Megumi just sighed to himself; he really hoped you could handle what you were about to endure.
With remarkable swiftness, the drug took effect, causing your vision to swiftly blur. Toji gently lifted your limp form and settled you in a nearby vehicle, placing your head upon Megumi's lap. However, to Megumi's dismay, Satoru unexpectedly joined the two of you in the backseat.
The endeavor to carefully arrange your partially unconscious body across the two men within the moving vehicle proved to be more challenging than anticipated, causing a tinge of frustration to seep through their façade.
Just as Megumi began to find solace in the unsettling situation, a grin etched its way across his face as he felt the gentle nuzzling of your head against his lap. Oh, how he yearned to turn back time, to snatch you away from this wicked fate before your innocence could be further violated.
Intermittently, the sound of Toji indulging in his vices, sniffing cocaine, reverberated through the car. Gojo, unable to resist, would occasionally peek up to indulge in a bump himself, prompting Megumi to roll his eyes in exasperation yet deciding to join in.
Lost in his own contemplations, Megumi's fingers tenderly caressed your cheek, his eyes capturing every detail that passed by outside the car's window. Meanwhile, Gojo, seeking his own twisted amusement, dared to explore further. His hand trailed up and down your leg before daringly slipping beneath your dress.
‘Oh, no panties. How delightful.’ Gojo thought, his lip caught between his teeth, his gaze darting between Toji and Megumi to ensure he wasn't caught in the act. Oblivious to the vile scene unfolding, Toji remained engrossed in typing on his laptop, indulging in copious amounts of drugs.
All seemed to progress according to plan until a sweet groan escaped your lips, causing your back to arch involuntarily and your face to scrunch up in pleasure.
Toji and Megumi's heads whipped around, alarmed to find you still partially unconscious. Satoru, quick and cunning, managed to withdraw his hand just in time to evade detection.
“Maybe i’ll share this little beauty with you if you Fix. The. Problem.” Emphasis stated on those words, but Megumi wasn’t focused on that .
Instead, his attention diverted to the fact that his father was speaking as if you had no choice; and he knew you didn't , you were going to be going through hell mentally and physically over the next few weeks.
“Yes , Sir.” Megumi cleared his throat after speaking , the car coming to a halt at the front of the manor.
After roughly 15 minutes, the car arrived at its destination, pulling up to imposing gates that concealed most of the grand manor behind them. Despite its remote location, the place was heavily guarded, its 10-foot-tall fencing a testament to the fortifications in place.
In an attempt to rouse you, Megumi pinched at your cheek, desiring your increased alertness as the vehicle approached the opened gate. Swiftly, the gate closed, sealing you within the confines of this mysterious domain.
A muffled protest escaped your lips as Megumi persisted in his efforts to wake you. Toji, deadpan and observant, intervened.
"Knock it the fuck off. I don't think you want her hearing what I'm about to tell you," Toji snapped at Megumi, biting his words with severity as he forcefully closed his laptop.
“The blood analysis I had run on Nobara revealed she was pregnant…early, but knocked up nonetheless. Megumi you should be thanking your lucky goddamn stars that Y/N solved that issue for you, for us.” Toji pressed his fingers to the bridge of his nose after sniffing another line, meanwhile, Gojo stared at Megumi with a look of shock on his face.
"The problem is that her mother was aware of the pregnancy, and now their daughter is missing," Toji grumbled in frustration. In Toji's eyes, this presented an opportunity for Megumi to prove his worth and involvement in the family business.
“Maybe i’ll share this little beauty with you if you Fix. The. Problem.” Words emphasized. However, Megumi's attention shifted. He realized his father was disregarding your agency, knowing full well that you had no say in the matter. Mentally and physically, you were destined to endure torment in the coming weeks.
“Be warned that if you fail, there will be punishment.”
"Yes, Sir," Megumi cleared his throat, acknowledging his father's command, as the car came to a halt at the front of the foreboding manor.
Servants swarmed around the vehicles, attending to your car and the two behind it. Toji , Gojo, and Megumi opened their respective doors, but Toji blocked Megumi from exiting, claiming his own intentions.
"I'll be taking what's mine, son," Toji stated, raising an eyebrow before swiftly lifting you from the car, cradling you in his arms in a bridal fashion. As your drowsy eyes fluttered open, you caught a glimpse of the sun's orange hue before refocusing on Toji.
"We're here, bunny." Toji cooed to you, carrying you inside while disregarding any stray greetings. The air turned noticeably colder as he descended the stairs to the first level of the basement, consciousness wavered in and out, only beginning to fully awaken as you felt the softest blanket beneath your body.
Amidst the commotion, Toji was occupied with instructing others on where to place various suitcases and luggage, oblivious to your awakening. As you sat up as slung your legs over the side of the bed, your eyes widened in astonishment as you surveyed the room around you.
Toji’s guard wasn’t down in the slightest when he walked over and stood next to the bed, your legs hanging off the bed.
“Oh, baby, you’re drooling everywhere.” Toji laughed after noticing, his thumb moved down to swipe the fluid from your chin and lip. Though he was surprised when your lips obediently parted for him.
"You'll wake up more in a bit," Toji continued, glancing down at his watch.
"or at least, I hope you do, because we have training to attend to, and it's REALLY gonna suck for you if you can't pay attention, princess." The smirk Toji directed your way started to align with what Megumi had been trying to warn you about.

Tangerine wasn’t one to get distracted from a job, usually that was lemon. But not this time.
“Yeah, I’m jus’ saying.” Tangerine shrugged, sitting down at the bar and looking around.
It was a large bar in a hotel. Why the target was here? They had no clue.
There you sat, in a dress with crossed legs, taking a sip of your martini as you glanced around.
You caught eye of a man in a suit. Another man next to him and talking to him, then getting up and walking off somewhere.
“I got eyes on her.” He said to lemon, and looking at you.
“What’s she doin?” He hid behind a wall, getting ready.
“She’s talking to the bartender.”
“So how should I go about this? Plan A or plan B?” You asked your friend, and your partner in crime who was being a bartender in disguise.
“Mmmm…. He’s checking you out, Plan A. Don’t know where the other one is though.” She looked around.
You sighed and looked at the man, the so called “Tangerine”
He looked at you, giving you a smile. You looked at your friend who just shrugged.
“Go get ‘em tiger. I’m right here.” She slightly showed you the gun she had hidden.
You got up, and sat next to the man, he looked at you and gave you a small smile.
“So how you wanna do this? Just guns a blazing?” You asked him, moving your leg up and down his.
“Mmm.. dunno, love. Maybe I should jus’ fucking stab your eyes out in front of everyone.” He said back, and looked at you.
“That’s adorable. Really. Now please, just let me take you to my client. He’s getting annoying, and he’s all like ‘oh my god it’s been a month’ so can we wrap this whole thing up?”
“Tell me who your client is and this whole thing can be over in minutes, dove.” He pointed the gun he was holding under the table at you.
“You know I can’t do that.” You took another sip of the martini, now completely finished.
“That’s a shame, really.” He swiftly turned around, and kicked you. Many shocked people around recorded and Lemon pulled the fire alarm.
You looked up at the counter, and saw your partner running to you. Tangerine cocked his gun and held your head on the marble.
“Who is it?” He gritted his teeth.
Your partner held her own gun to his head, and lemon pointed it at her.
“Seriously? Am I the only one who’s not pointing a gun right now? Can’t we sort this out or something?” You asked.
“Yeah, we can. Tell me who hired you.”
You groaned in annoyance, and kicked him in the balls.
“Motherfucker-“ he mumbled, you giggled and stole his gun away when he dropped it on the ground, holding it to lemon.
“All right, can we just take you guys to the client? Cause this would be a lot easier-“ you felt a sharp pain in your side suddenly, your partner yelling and starting to shoot, the twins running out and zooming away in their car.
“Fuck. Y/n.. y/n, stay awake.” She mumbled, grabbing your arms and helping you walk into the car. She quickly dragged you to your guys agency, and you were immediately dragged to a dingy infirmary room.
—————————————————————-
You opened the door when a knock came to it, a large box at the door.
You furrowed your eyebrows and picked it up, cutting it open with a knife you stared it at.
A pink basket with a small teddy bear, a bunch of candy and a card.
“I know I shot you a few months ago, but I hope you feel better. But seriously, just tell me who hired you and this can all be over.
XOXO, Tangerine.
ps. Lemon did not want me to send this at all.”
You and tangerine had a very… complicated relationship. You’ve been chasing him for months, but he always slipped away. You’ve had sex pretty much almost every time you fought. You hated each other almost, but not really at the same time.
Sometimes, it wasn’t always hate fucking. Sometimes you both held hands, kissed, cuddled in secrecy. Two people enjoying each others company.
The chemistry between you both was undeniable, the only problem was work.
You looked at the box some more, how the hell did they find your address?
It was creepy, but almost sweet. You furrowed your eyebrows and read some more notes he left, he had also given you a novel, remembering the one time he had read to you.
“𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏𝒕 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐, 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔. 𝑨 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅. 𝑯𝒆𝒓? 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔?“ 𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒆𝒕.
𝑯𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒌, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒐 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒑𝒕.
You smiled at the memory, and then shook your head. No. It could never work out, you constantly reminded yourself.
—————————————————————
Another day, another chasing the twins mission.
You sighed and dreaded this one, looking around the crowded place. Your partner was out sick.
You then locked eyes with him, Tangerine that is. Lemon looked at what he was looking at and shook his head.
“Man, what have I told you?” He said to tangerine.
“What you talkin’ about?”
“I see the way you’re lookin’ at her. C’mon, man, let it go.”
Tangerine scoffed, and folded his arms, leaning against the doorway.
“I didn’t do anything. She’s here to catch us, so let’s just go.”
“You sent the card, didn’t you?”
“No I didn’t.”
Lemon groaned “Told you not too, man. Jesus Christ.”
You started to walk up to them and they started to back up, you looked back quickly, throwing a smoke bomb discreetly on the floor.
Soon, people were coughing and leaving the building, just you three now.
You smiled at them, standing in front of them now.
“So nice to see you both again. Thanks for the card, very sweet.” You said with a smirk.
Lemon gave him a look and he just rolled his eyes.
“Look, we don’t know who keeps hiring you to get us, but it never works, does it? So let’s jus’”Tangerine was cut off when you kicked the gun he was holding to you out of his hand, you grabbed it when it fell to the floor and pointed it to the both of them.
“What were you saying?”
You then punched lemon, Tangerine sighing and trying to throw you off, but instead you kicked him in the balls, making him groan and fall back on the floor.
“Okay, that was just not fair.”
You pinned them both to the ground, and when lemon was about to pull the trigger, you grabbed his gun.
“So, anyways, as I was saying, I can’t really tell you.” You shrugged.
Lemon sighed and turned to Tangerine.
“Can you tell your girlfriend to get off?”
“She’s not my girlfriend, tell her yourself.” He rolled his eyes, you stared down at them both.
You looked into tangerines eyes, they were beautiful you had to admit. You sighed.
“Can’t believe I’m doing this. Kick me.” You whispered to them.
“What?” They both asked.
“Kick me.”
“Why?” Tangerine said, face scrunched up in confusion.
You groaned “Because if my boss looks back at the tapes and sees I let you get away, I’ll get in trouble.”
“Alright.” Lemon said with a shrug, kicking you harder than you expected. You faked a groan, and you fell onto the ground. You looked up at them walking away and you winked.

The pictures from the tape notes podcast are so DJ George a bit after releasing dh2. The first projects from the label are starting to be promoted and George is doing a podcast/radio show, is feeling a bit more confident and is just cheesing at the side stage where TA Matty is sitting. I LOVE THEM YOUR HONOUR🩷❤️🩷❤️🩷.
yes!! all this Solo George content (especially the tapenotes ep) is providing a lot of producer george inspo and it's been fantastic. [it's also just so nice to see him so smiley as of late!!!
~ ~ ~
Promo for the new label debut was supposed to be, at first, a short(ish) live interview, despite the fact George didn't like the rush and urgency of radio, of trying not to forget all his key marketing points he'd been made to study, repeat, and rehearse on the car ride over.
With the imprint announcement coming up, and the threat of live interviews closing in, George was on a video call with the manager spearheading the promo cycle, Adrian, and gently trying to wiggle his way out of the radio interview to maybe a print interview or something. Matty was sitting next to George at the counter—situating both his and George's tea cups and breakfast plates so he could put his books down—when he asked why couldn't the interview be recorded?
Like most ideas Matty has, he says it like he's suggesting they try a new type of tea next time they're out, or maybe they change out the really strong hand soap in the bathroom because it's giving him a headache: casual and non-committal, shaking his head to deny he'd ever made the suggestion when George stops mid-sentence to look at him.
Adrian is surprised by the new voice and asks, while smiling, if Matty is there with him. The change in lighting on her face tells George she's changed back to the video call window on her laptop from another, far more important tab. Matty moves his tea cup into frame with a quiet 'morning before going back to his revisions.
She asks George if he wants to to do a recorded episode instead; it'd be twice as long, but he'd probably be able to discuss more things—maybe even the intended first release project, if George felt it was finished enough to want to tease it. As she speaks, her face gets covered in a ghostly white glow again as she opens a blank page on her screen.
Since George knows she can't see his face anymore, can't see him nodding, he says yes more than once. He doesn't like to cut her off, but he wants to save her the breath. He's in.
Adrian laughs as she composes (and reads to George) the email she's sending to a podcast host that recently got in touch with the band, leaving an open invite to discuss any and all of their group or solo work. She sends it—and gets an enthusiastic yes! within fifteen minutes—and George won't stop calling Matty a genius.
So of course, Matty joins George for the recording. Matty dresses down for the event, after having been mistaken as a label rep on more than one occasion after meeting up with George after teaching. He's in a pair of blue jeans and a tie-dye shirt that looks big enough to be George's, but he can't remember where he would've gotten it. He has on his oldest pair of glasses (that are a few diopters off in either lens) and gelled curls from the previous day's meeting with his dissertation advisor. George is wearing a shirt he took from Hann who stole it from Ross, who actually, George realizes when seeing himself in the viewfinder, stole it from him when they were still broke studio musicians all living in the same cramped flat...
George can't believe they—the boys, their band—are anything but that. That they've gained recognition and momentum and status and confidence in their music, their bond, and each other. He can't believe he gets to sit across from someone that knows them, knows their work (with startling detail, actually), and gives George the floor to get excited about the future of 1975 music, shows, and solo projects being supported by the imprint. He can't stop smiling—can't stop cutting himself off with another detail he is so thrilled to be sharing, and to have listened to by such eager ears.
The interview goes well—really well, actually. As George takes off his headphones and gathers up the cord, he pretends he can't see (and hasn't been seeing) Matty grinning from across the room. It feels ridiculous—and George knows it—that despite Adrian holding him by the shoulders and telling him he did a fantastic job and she'd never seen him so comfortable in an interview, it isn't until Matty is quietly and incredulously laughing and whispering about just where George learned to public speak like that—about how he'd never seen George so confident and pleased with himself—that George feels the most proud, begins to feel a bit more trust settle behind his creative instincts and power.

CrypticRock.Com reviews Candyass and Vapor Transmission's release on vinyl.
At the height of Nu-metal’s popularity when bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot were leading as a massive charge, something rather unique also arose in the form of Orgy. A band vastly different from their contemporaries, Orgy’s sound certainly fit more comfortably in the Industrial Metal realm, but still, was in a league of its own. Self-described as Death Pop, if you were a fan of ’80s Synthwave, mixed with modern Alternative Metal, no matter the title you want to use, you were bound to love Orgy.
Initially forming in 1997, Orgy would go on to become the first band signed to Jonathan Davis’ Elementree Records; which at the time had distribution with Reprise Records. A partnership where few knew what would happen… there were a few fun facts about the members of Orgy that should not be noted. First, you had Lead Vocalist Jay Gordon; who in fact co-produced Coal Chamber’s 1997 self-titled debut. Second, you had Guitarist Amir Derakh; who had earned some notoriety as a member of ’80s Metal act Rough Cutt. And last, by not least, you had Guitarist Ryan Shuck; who was a part of the band Sexart… where he would play alongside future Korn vocalist, Jonathan Davis.
With plenty of more intriguing aspects surrounding Orgy’s cast individually, when joined together, by August of 1998 they were set to take on the world with the release of their debut album Candyass. Released on August 18th of that year, the album picked up momentum and found an audience within just a few months; thanks in part to an appearance on the Family Values Tour in the fall, alongside Korn, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, and Rammstein. Somewhat of a key moment in history of Orgy, what would follow would be the release of their impeccable cover of New Order’s “Blue Monday” that December, thus leading to even more broader popularity. In fact, you could argue that “Blue Monday” served as a gateway for audiences to see how special Orgy was; soon leading to even more attention drawn to the single “Stitches.” So, where did this unpredictable rise lead? It led to Candyass attaining platinum status, hitting Number 1 on Heatseekers charts, on its way to becoming one of the late ’90s most beloved Metal leaning records.
Truly an inspiring story of success, matching Orgy’s musical attack was a stylistic appearance that unified ’80s New Wave fashion, Glam Rock, all with a sweet little Gothic twist. Something that enticed many, the promotional images out at the time (on press posters, etc.), immediately made you feel like you were transported into a subculture of something far out of this world. A fascination that stirred around well into the new millennium, it was in October of 2000 when Orgy plotted another impact with their highly anticipated follow up, Vapor Transmission. An album that had massive buzz surrounding it – and more than likely one that placed a ton of pressure on the band themselves – Vapor Transmission delivered in many facets of the word. Very much a continuation of the trajectory Orgy began with Candyass, the new album featured a delightful collection of tunes that solidified that they were not a novelty act, but one with significant abilities, both as songwriters and atmosphere creators. Evident with tracks such as “Fiction (Dreams in Digital),” “Eva,” and “Opticon,” Vapor Transmission would peak at 16 on the Billboard 200 and eventually attain gold status.
A more than respectful way to follow up Candyass (an album which has attained platinum status), to Orgy’s dedicated following, Candyass and Vapor Transmissions are essential listens… even over two decades later. More than likely two albums which survived the physical format purge many music fans partook in at the onset of digital downloading, leading into the streaming age, both CD formats remain fixtures in many collections. This in mind, it comes with great excitement in 2024 to learn that both Candyass and Vapor Transmission have been re-released in a vinyl format. Arriving on February 2nd, the two new releases through Real Gone Music are fit with some interesting details that make them even more compelling to look into.
First and foremost, the obvious selling point here is that Candyass is now available in the vinyl format for the first time ever. Beyond this, each album is remastered and pressed in a pretty eye-gazing way. For Candyass, the remastering (done by Mike Milchner of Sonic Vision) is fresh, bright, and crisp. Something that makes for a lovely listening experience, making it pop even more is a high quality 180 gram clear with red and yellow swirl pressing; or fire orange color if you go to Best Buy. Really nicely done, it is also presented in a grand gatefold packaging with all the original art.
Then, for Vapor Transmission, you also get a remastered copy (done by Milchner as well), but this time including “The Spectrum.” A bonus, originally “The Spectrum” was exclusive to the first 1,000 copies of the CD edition put out all the way back in 2004; that was until the digital release of it in December of 2020. A really cool bonus for collectors, Vapor Transmission is also given a color treatment pressing; this time in red and yellow “plasma,” or purple swirl if you go to Best Buy. Matched with pristine sound, as well as the original art in a gatefold package, it is the perfect sidekick to the Candyass re-release.
Overall, when looking at the journey of Orgy – past, present, and future – Candyass and Vapor Transmission are pinnacle points in time. Aware of this history and recognizing it, Orgy (currently led by Jay Gordon, along with a lineup of Bassist Nic Speck, plus Guitarists Carlton Bost and Ilia Yordanov) are set to tour April into May celebrating 25 years of Candyass. A run that kicks off on April 11th, before ending May 25th, they will co-headline with Cold on each of the dates. With that, the next question many might ask is – when can we expect a new, proper Orgy album? While that remains to be seen, they have put out several stand alone singles over the last decade since 2015’s Talk Sick EP. So, only time will tell what is next for Orgy in the way of a new album. Thankfully there is a tour, plus these two new must have vinyl edition releases of both Candyass and Vapor Transmission.

Hey! I have a couple of questions whenever you have the time for them...
First off I've started sometimes recording timelapses on csp, but as far as I can tell you have to export every single time before you fully exit the program (I've had to lose the footage to learn this lesson 😭), but the clips also always seem to start with the final frame? Idk if you record them long enough to need to merge clips but if so I'd appreciate any guidance you'd have to make that merging seamless, bc I tried cuttting the beginning of the clips and it still does a stupid lil jump to that final image :(
And second, I thiiiink it was you that mentioned having a "gas arm" that you mount your tablet to? If so I can NOT find that post but it's something I'm interested in investing in!
the ask where i talk abt my tablet mount is here!
as for the timelapse, i'm afraid i can't help bc i've never experienced the specific issue you're describing -- my experience has always been that the timelapse footage saves when you save the file! the only thing i really use the timelapse function on is my monthly sketchbook/warmup files, and i don't splice clips for that, i just pile up a bunch of folders on one canvas that i draw in all month, and then i export the whole thing at the end! i've never exported multiple times thruout the 'lifespan' of a file so to speak. if u would like to have multiple different drawings all strung together in one long timelapse, i think the easiest thing to do is what i do for my sketchbooks: just have those all in one clip studio file, hiding things as you finish them. (this DOES make file size balloon a LOT, so if ur computer can't handle that u might have no choice but to do smaller bursts.)
if you're losing footage in a saved document (that has the "record timelapse" function checked, which you can do when u first create the file but u can also switch on from the file menu if u forgot at first), that sounds to me like a bug, and it may be something u want to email support about! i also don't think u can control the fact that the opening frame is the final, i think you'd have to trim that off manually after export in a different video editing software; the actual options u have for fiddling w the timelapse in clip studio natively are extremely limited.

Analysis of: "From Brain to AI and Back" (academic lecture by Ambuj Singh)
youtube
The term "document" in the following text refers to the video's subtitles.
Here is a summary of the key discussions:
The document describes advances in using brain signal recordings (fMRI) and machine learning to reconstruct images viewed by subjects.
Challenges include sparseness of data due to difficulties and costs of collecting extensive neural recordings from many subjects.
Researchers are working to develop robust models that can generalize reconstruction capabilities to new subjects with less extensive training data.
Applications in medical diagnosis and lie detection are possibilities, but risks of misuse and overpromising on capabilities must be carefully considered.
The genre of the document is an academic lecture presenting cutting-edge neuroscience and AI research progress to an informed audience.
Technical content is clearly explained at an advanced level with representative examples and discussion of challenges.
Ethical implications around informed consent, privacy, and dual-use concerns are acknowledged without overstating current capabilities.
While more information is needed, the presentation style and framing of topics skews towards empirical science over opinion or fiction.
A wide range of stakeholders stand to be impacted, so responsible development and governance of emerging neural technologies should involve multidisciplinary input.
Advancing both basic scientific understanding and more human-like machine learning is a long-term motivation driving continued innovation in this important field.
Here is a summary of the key points from the document:
The speaker discusses advances in using brain signal recordings (fMRI) to reconstruct images that a person is viewing by training AI/machine learning models.
An example is shown where the top row is the actual image viewed and the bottom row is the image reconstructed from the person's brain signals.
Larger datasets with brain recordings from multiple subjects are allowing better models to be developed that may generalize to new subjects.
Challenges include the sparseness of brain signal data due to the difficulty and costs of collecting it from many subjects.
A model is presented that maps brain signals to a joint embedding space of images and text, allowing reconstruction of novel images from new brain signals.
Examples are shown where the reconstructed images match fairly well or not as well depending on image details and semantics.
Issues around ethics, risks of misuse, and questions of explaining and improving the models are discussed.
Ongoing work aims to address challenges around transferring models between subjects and measuring reconstruction performance.
Based on the content and style of the document, it appears to be an academic lecture or presentation.
Key evidence points include:
The document consists primarily of a speaker talking and presenting slides/examples to an audience, as indicated by phrases like "Let me just start with this" and an applause at the end.
Technical topics from neuroscience and machine learning/AI are discussed in detail, such as fMRI brain recordings, reconstructing images from brain signals, modeling approaches, dataset descriptions, and challenges/questions in the field.
Academic concepts like human subjects studies, building models, transferring learning, and measuring performance are referred to.
The presentation of information is intended to educate the audience on the state of the field and cuttting edge research, not just entertain.
There are no narratives, characters or creative storytelling elements - it adheres strictly to explaining complex technical content.
Therefore, based on the instructive/educational style and focus on explaining advanced technical research, I would classify the genre of this document as an academic lecture/presentation intended to inform an audience about progress in the domain of neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
Here are some of the key stakeholders that could be affected by the content and topics discussed in this document:
Neuroscience researchers - Directly interested and impacted by advances reported from their field of study. Progress informs future research directions.
AI/machine learning researchers - Models and challenges discussed could inspire new research at the intersection of AI and neuroscience. Transfer of model techniques.
Medical/clinical communities - Potential applications to diagnosis, personalized medicine if models can accurately reconstruct brain states. Raises ethical issues.
Government research agencies - Fund future related research based on understanding of opportunities and challenges conveyed. Evaluates societal impacts.
General public - Increased understanding of science helps engagement but topics like brain reading raise public concerns around privacy, consent if translated beyond research.
Research participants - Summary does not disclose identities but motivates others to contribute data for progress. Well-being depends on responsible use of data.
Technology companies - Commercial opportunities from real-world applications but also reputational risks if misused. Data ownership questions.
Academic institutions - Collaborations, education of next generations of researchers on cutting-edge topics is enabled through open dissemination of knowledge.
Overall the document provides value to a wide range of stakeholders by communicating the state and potential implications of this multidisciplinary area of neuroscience and AI research. Responsible stewardship is important given several ethical considerations.
Here is a summary of the key points about advances in using brain signal recordings from the document:
Researchers are using fMRI to record brain signals as people view images, in order to reconstruct the viewed images from the brain activity patterns alone.
Machine learning models, especially neural networks, are allowing researchers to train mappings from brain signals to representations of semantic content like images and text.
Examples show the capability of reconstructing fairly accurate images that a person viewed, based solely on their brain activity recordings during viewing.
Larger datasets with multiple subjects are important to develop models that may generalize beyond individual subjects. However, fMRI data is very difficult and expensive to collect at scale.
Advances now allow reconstruction of more complex stimuli like full stories a person reads, not just static images.
Ongoing work aims to better understand brain learning processes and apply those principles to more human-like machine learning architectures.
Analyzing brain recordings also has potential applications for medical diagnosis, lie detection, personalized medicine as models improve.
Ethics must be carefully considered to ensure technologies for reading neural signals are developed and applied responsibly and avoid misuse or privacy violations.
So in summary, the document outlines significant progress using machine learning on brain recordings to reconstruct sensory experiences, with applications and open questions that can further both neuroscience and AI.
Here is a summary of the key points about the sparseness of brain signal data:
Collecting fMRI brain signal recordings from large numbers of subjects is extremely challenging and costly due to the resources and time required.
Each recording session with a single subject takes considerable time, as the number of images/stimuli that can be presented is limited within a session.
Collecting data from a single subject sufficient for training complex models may require recording sessions over multiple days or weeks.
As a result, publicly available datasets typically contain recordings from only a small number of subjects, often under 10.
The sparseness of data makes it difficult to develop robust models that will generalize well to new subjects that lack extensive recordings.
Researchers aim to better leverage smaller datasets by training models that can reconstruct novel stimuli from just a subset of training data per subject.
If successful, this could enable more efficient data collection, such as obtaining usable models from a subject after a single shorter session rather than many long sessions.
However, overcoming the sparseness of brain signal data remains a major challenge holding back progress in the field. Larger collaborative datasets are needed.
So in summary, sparse data severely limits progress but also motivates techniques to optimize learning from limited samples per subject.
Here is a summary of key points regarding risks of misuse from the document:
Advances in reconstructing cognitive states like images viewed from brain recordings raise potential dual-use concerns if technologies are not regulated.
Applications in medical diagnosis and lie detection could help many, but lead to issues if used without consent or for non-medical surveillance.
Overly ambitious claims about capabilities need to be avoided to prevent misleading expectations that could fuel inappropriate usage assumptions.
Privacy and security of sensitive neural data must be prioritized to prevent potential misuse for profiling, identification or manipulation without oversight.
Commercial pressures may incentivize premature deployment before understanding implications, so continued research is important.
Public education about limitations and complexities involved can help curb fears that fuel misuse if capabilities are overestimated.
Multidisciplinary cooperation ensures societal and ethical issues are considered proactively rather than reactively addressed later.
Governance frameworks may be needed to steer applications toward public benefit rather individual or state abuse of personal mental information.
The speaker acknowledges misuse risks to inform discussion and underscore the importance of ongoing examination of new neural technologies through multidisciplinary lens including ethics.
Based on the content and style of presentation, my evaluation of the document status is:
Science vs Fiction: Clearly grounded in science as it discusses ongoing empirical research studies using neuroimaging and machine learning techniques. No fictional or hypothetical elements.
Empirical vs Anecdotal: Empirical in nature, rooted in dataset collection from human subjects and quantitative modeling/evaluation, not personal experience. While data quantities are limited, research follows scientific method.
Fact vs Opinion: Primarily presents technical details and research findings as established facts from the literature. Does not advance strong personal opinions beyond realistic discussion of challenges. Maintains an objective tone.
Objective vs Subjective: Remains objective in explaining research accomplishments and questions objectively without emotive language or bias. Any subjective experience like dataset limitations are clearly labeled as such. Presentation aims for factual information transfer.
In summary, while farther research is still ongoing, the document presents the current state of a scientific research domain factually based on empirical evidence and quantitative analysis published in the field. It does not intermingle non-factual elements or stray from an objective reporting of the topic at hand. The status therefore skews heavily toward science, empiricism, fact and objectivity.
I did not identify any logical fallacies in the content or arguments presented in this document.
The speaker objectively summarizes established research results and proposals, without making assertions that require logical scrutiny.
Some key reasons why logical fallacies are not present include:
No causal claims are made without proper evidence or empirical support from published studies. Progress is tied to concrete research efforts.
No arguments are constructed through flawed reasoning or non sequiturs. Concepts are explained clearly and build upon each other logically.
Comparisons to other approaches are fair without strawman misrepresentations of opposing ideas. Related work is acknowledged.
Limitations and open challenges are candidly outlined rather than ignored or obscured through fallacious defense.
No emotional, exaggerated or politically motivated language is used that could constitute emotional appeals. Tone remains factual.
No false dilemmas or false attributions of complexity are presented. Discussions appropriately scope multi-factor research questions.
No hasty generalizations are made from limited evidence. Data constraints are clearly communicated.
Overall, through objectively summarizing established neuroscience and AI research domains and techniques, without engaging in argument or debate, I did not find any logical fallacies employed in this academic information-sharing document. The focus appears to be factual reporting of progress and issues, avoiding fallacious reasoning.
Here is an evaluation of the ethics addressed and considered in the document:
Informed consent is implied but not explicitly discussed for research participants. Given the sensitivity of brain data, proper protocols were likely followed.
Privacy and anonymity of participants is a concern, but cannot be fully assessed without more details on the dataset and review process.
Potential dual-use issues around brain reading/reconstruction technologies are identifed by discussing applications but also worries about misuse or lack of oversight. This shows awareness of ethical implications.
Limitations and challenges and openly discussed, avoiding overpromising on capabilities. This establishes credibility and sets appropriate expectations.

Trinkets, Books, 10: An eclectic library of dusty tomes, fictional textbooks, pocketbooks, paperbacks, hardcovers, booklets, leaflets and magical manuals. Paper leaves and the binding surrounding them can help define a character, kick off a subplot, fuel a fetch quest or simply serve as a generic macguffin. Commonly seen in video games such as Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, World of Warcraft and Skyrim, book items are a way to subtly world build while still handing out sellable loot. A wizard has a spellbook, a cleric has a holy text and now you have a trinket list.
An ornamental prayer book of Random Domain with illuminated pages and semiprecious stones.
Ars Optica: An ophthalmic guide that’s treasured by magicians, who read its dull and technical pages not for purposes of spectacle manufacturer, but for the construction of resonance spheres; Pressurized, lensed devices used in the contact of alien realms.
A book the size of a large man's hand, composed of ten plates of blue-black jade mounted in thin silver and bound with black silk lacing. Each plate is inscribed in silver with charts of the night sky.
The Book of Math: What seems like a boring book about maths problems is in fact all about Mathom, the God of Delays, and has this title because the author was distracted and unable to finish said title. It contains all sorts of important information on Mathom and His Priests, but is frustratingly not completely finished, as it seems that the author was unable or unwilling to finish it. Knowledgeable PC’s are aware that the books is very rare, as only a few copies were ever successfully made before first the printing press broke, then the ink supply ran out, and then the printers were raided by the police by mistake, then the building caught fire...
My Life as a Gnome Bodyguard: A moderately-sized autobiography of Mifierwa Cinibnil, a gnome paladin that served as the protector of Queen Evelyn Crystaldown.
A very old book of coastal charts, which has obviously seen heavy shipboard use in the past; the pages are marked and stained and smell faintly of salt. Next to an unnamed island on a map of a distant coast, an unsteady hand has drawn a deaths-head marker and scrawled: “blaydes dont cutt em but fires wil burn em upp.”
Blood Debt Ledger: A small book bound in wolf hide and decorated with the beast's claws and fangs. It has ninety-nine pages, each with nine names inscribed on it. Knowledgeable PC’s can discern that it originally belonged to a hag who used it to record the names of those who owed her a debt.
Tippy's Gardening Tips and Tricks: A farmer's almanac, focusing on the cultivation of herbs and their various medical and culinary uses.
A large instructional manual entitled “195 Easy Projects with Human Skin”. Knowledgeable PC's are aware of its notoriety for its gruesome, yet imaginatively intricate, woodblock illustrations.
A small personal journal penned by a hunter of the supernatural. Although the majority of the pages are too bloodied, dirty, burned or torn to be legible, a cluster of pages near the middle detail the process of an infernal summoning ritual. The book describes that a specific order of fiend can be called into the world by digging a hole in the dead center of a set of crossroads and burying a box containing a picture of the mortal wishing to make the deal, some graveyard dirt, and a bone from a black cat. This specific type of “crossroads demon” looks like a human except for their blood red eyes and are tasked with ‘buying’ souls for Hell through deals with mortals. The demon can grant the summoner’s wish in exchange for ownership over that person's soul, resulting in the person dying and going to Hell to be transformed into a demon upon death.

A History of Tea: A book bound with tea stained wood that (As its title proclaims) is a comprehensive history of tea, a plant first discovered and cultivated in the Northern land of Awn, where it remains most popular. A History of Tea denotes the conflicts, agricultural developments, and serving preferences surrounding tea over the last two millennia. Helpfully, the book contains a list of all herbs and barks capable of being steeped in addition to black tea. It is a hearty reference document for travelers and adventurers in need of a hot brew, regardless of its origin or quality.
Brobson's Guide to Decoys: A gamesmans' guide, devoted to fishing flies, wooden ducks, and other such beast lures. Written in unceasingly-energetic confidence about their use, history, composition, and construction. A book treasured by hunters of prey both mundane and monstrous, as it contains details for luring both plant-eaters and predators of varied size. Many a fisherman has thanked Brobson for his wooly bugger lure, as have countless cutters for his pattern for false goats, which is much cheaper than buying an actual goat.
A book on the proper ways to do mundane domestic chores written in large simple words similar to a scholarly document. Simple pictures take up many of the pages and it is probably meant to be used as a reference guides to young maids and scullery girls. An extremely perceptive reader will discern the book’s true purpose. When held to the light, hidden writing is exposed revealing a list of assassins, thieves, fences, sellers of illicit goods, safe houses and other black-market connections that can be found in the nearest capital city.
Identification of Irritants; A Gentleman's Guide to Avoiding Discomfort in the Field: A guidebook that proved to be too good for the purposes it was designed for by providing in depth identification guides, descriptions of growing conditions, and technical analyses of the properties of many dangerous plants, including several very rare and incredibly poisonous ones. Someone has scribbled recipes for several dangerous poisons derived from some of these plants in the margins.
A brown, leather-bound tome with the image of a knight emblazoned on the cover. When opened the book contains a riveting story of a knight, a princess, a dragon, and a kingdom in peril.
Practical Exercises for Young Magicians: An instructional book written by Amelia Popper containing intricate finger and voice exercises divided into several dozen etudes for magicians. The book consists of detailed charts and a series of movements that serve as educational practices and introductory techniques to the physical complexity of magic and spell casting. Popper's work has been used throughout many mage academy curriculums as a structured, refined method to spellcasting.
Manual of Flesh Golems: A thick tome imbued with magical properties and stamped with arcane symbols on the cover. The book contains theoretical musings on the construction and control of golems. It goes into some detail on how the reader may construct a servant of assembled, animated flesh which will obey the creator without question.
A small, thick sea captain's journal. Leather bound and filled with dense, near unreadable notes. The cover has a piece of lead shot embedded deep into it from a run-in with pirates.
Magical Bleed and the Effects of Lingering Aura: A tome of arcane theory that introduces and focuses on Sir Bleepin Loopfoodle's Model of Epi-Magical Exchange. The detailed treatise describes how magical leftovers from a spell changes the environment and soul and the impacts can differed based on the nature of the spell. The book contains examples on how intensely supernatural creatures such as venerable dragons, elder aberrations and extraplanar outsiders (Such as celestials, elementals and fiends) passively affect their environment.
The Faerie Queen: A vastly underappreciated collection of Light Cottonstream's poems about the summer court, detailing the queen's affairs, courting at the summer court, and the involvement of love potions.
Wintering with Wizards: A hard-bound, extravagant, lengthy volume chronicling the adventures of the author, Earnest Holcomb, during his stay at a wizard’s school over a long winter. It’s clear to any wizard that the author hasn’t a clue what he’s talking about.
A Comprehensive Encyclopedic Approach to All Things Draconic: A massive and richly illustrated compendium of dragon lore that covers nearly all areas of knowledge pertaining to dragonkind. With various sections devoted to prismatic, metallic, and rare dragon breeds (As well as smaller sections on drakes, half-dragons, dragonborn, and even wyverns) this is likely the most thorough text on the subject. Not many copies of the book exist and it is coveted among collectors and curators alike; finding a copy and the access to read it can be an expensive venture on its own.
Pendlesea's Scroll Compendium of Scrolls: An exceptionally long and somewhat stiff scroll safely kept within the confines of a dark leather scroll container about two feet long and four inches in diameter. The scroll contains the rambling treatise of a slightly crazed wizard named Bidoop Pendlesea. The treatise examines the various uses of scrolls and the not-so-subtle embellishment of their claimed superiority to books by the author.
A brand-new copy of “Volo's Guide to What to Expect When You’re Expecting” with advice and guides on humanoid pregnancy. A big brightly colored “Congratulations!” is written on the inside cover and the chapter summary pages are dog-eared.
A thick wood-bound chapbook of gnomish jokes.
A leather-bound book detailing the complete genealogy of a noble family.
An illustrated travelogue of remote and exotic locations rumored to include sigils for teleportation circles hidden in the text.
A pocket-sized book devoted to the ancestry and heraldry of the vampiric Bloodlines of Erubescence. This copy has been annotated with cutting remarks about the various families, sometimes revealing embarrassing gossip or secrets.
A slightly tattered but complete copy of a rare first printing of the Saga of the Sacred Cauldron, a chivalric romance recounting a quest in the realm of Elfhame involving such colorful characters as Bellstajj the Capacious, Blue-Eyed Molly, Fennrix the Blind, Fun Guy the Barbarian, the Knight of Harts Petalu Morriden, Susurrus Psithurisma, Weevil Stench, Wick the Silent, and the notorious Sparks & Mud.
A stained manuscript containing fan fiction for the popular and long-running Wendolyn the Werewolf sequence of serialized romantic novels.
Noland's Small Book of Portals Vol III: The work contains a collection of fine lithographs of man-made, natural, or magically occurring portals, in good detail as well as their destination. Not all are sized for people to fit through. Many include detailed description and measurements, and might prove useful for a magic user or scholar of the arcane looking to understand the planes and magical travel better; this may be for good or ill.
Seven Jistkan Forms of Ancient Hygh Majiks: A thread-bare tome, with pages that are more dust than parchment. Some of the pages are actually made of papyrus and were literally cut out of scrolls and sewn into this work. The runes described inside are incomplete, and use one ancient, dead language, to transcribe the words of an even older and even deader language that was destroyed by a great volcanic explosion. Most of the time the book is spent on the names of the offspring of the offspring of a myriad of gods, with incomplete glyphs and logograms.
The Case of the Disappearing Daughters: A historical horror novel that is also known as The Mad Queen and her Daughter, this is the true(ish) story of how the once capable ruler Queen Yocasta of Vallermoore went insane after her daughter's death, and how the daughters of her subjects were kidnapped to replace her original daughter and then murdered when they failed to be just like her. In the end the Queen went insane, took her dead, decaying daughter from the royal tomb and had her by her side at all times as if she was still alive.
A small prayer book with a green leather cover and indecipherable notes in the margins.
A large tome bound with unadorned black leather, containing a multitude of jumbled essays, theorems and anecdotes, all of a mystical, slightly odd or perverse nature. The more one reads or uses the book, the more the writing within makes sense but such clarity comes at a horrible price.
Dimensions of Evil; A Guidebook to the Nether Realms: A demonhide bound grimoire written in Infernal that provides information relating to the Lower Planes of the Nine Hells. Dimensions of Evil paints a fairly accurate and unflattering view of the Lower Planes and its inhabitants. Due to its subject matters several faiths of good deities have banned this book and attempt to confiscate any copies that appear. Others encourage their followers to read the book, going so far as to create multiple copies.
The Theory and Application of Force Magic: A tome that provides information relating to spells involving the use of magical force. Many wizards consider Aeroth Blith's book the best reference about force magic ever written. Well organized and clearly written, if a little dry and analytical in places, the tome examines force magic as a mysterious power akin to a fifth element. Copies of this book can often be found in universities and larger libraries that cater to war wizards and battle mages.
Commoriom: A bound manuscript written in symbols barely recognizable as a script. Its pages number in the hundreds, and splitting the book in two is a single engraving upon a thin sheet of metal; a deserted city square surrounded by tall pillars, and in the middle, a hideous, crooked monstrosity squats as it devours his screaming victims. The image is atrocious, but has some weird magnetism, and if one looks upon it for some time, a weak voice in his head says, "Beware the vile offspring of Knygathin Zhaum."
A children’s book filled with stories of long dead heroes and the sacrifices they made to light the path ahead.
De Vermis Mysteriis: A book whose cover is made of black leather with copper insets covered in a green patina. It describes the rituals and tools of priests who seek the worlds that lie beyond. An excerpt of the book reads as follows; "A R'lang is an item that the caster imbues with his soul before travel to the Beyond. To begin, one should find a shell or piece of polished wood on the shore of the ocean. It must be placed in the ground not further than ten paces from the timeline on the 20th day of the lunar month. After exactly nine days, mark the place with two circles and proper signs. Chant thrice the incantation: "Khlu Sya Asa Nmrihg Aym Eghu Akaman" to grant it its powers..."
Chaos Theory; A Calculated Cataclysm: A tattered book that seems to have had numerous pages torn from it and perhaps entire chapters. It is hard to be certain as it seems to have been rebound multiple times.
Druid's Staff Quarterly: An intriguing, regularly published journal that appears to have pages made from thin bark; these pages are jagged and irregular.
Fish are Friends, Not Food: A strange dietitian guide that encourages the reader to choose alternative protein sources to fish.
Grimoire of Devilish Contracting: A worn, leather-bound tome with an oversized silver and gold latch that requires a key to open it. If one can manage to gain access to the text, the reader will find extensive advice on how to broker deals with fiends of the lower planes and get out with one’s soul relatively intact. The volume has no information how to actually summon a devil to bargain with.
It's Hyyyydra-matic!: A peculiar book that contains a bard's tale of encountering a mighty hydra. It contains over 100 uses for various hydra body parts.
Shorthalt's Journal of Awful Limericks: A well-worn, cloth-bound book inscribed with scrawlings of horrific poems, each of which are imbued with enchantment magic. There are also bizarre, childish drawings of humanoids doing various acts of vile behavior.
Tales of a Troglodyte Named Thomas the Truthful: An interesting parable that tells of a Troglodyte named Thomas the Truthful that rose to power in a small Underdark community by virtue of his honesty and good nature.
The Arts Alchemical: A Primer: A strange volume fashioned from the hide of some unidentifiable creature. The vellum pages contained within describe the steps to creating a variety of potions.
These Furry Fellas: A notebook with beautiful calligraphy that describes the types and habits of various small beasts and critters. The accompanying sketches are quite cute.
When Life Gives You Lemons: A simple, single-page pamphlet filled with positive affirmations that emphasize the importance of seizing opportunities.
...And the Bear Says...: A worn, small leather journal that appears to be a naturalist's notes from time spent tracking a family of bears.
A is for Aboleth: A rare copy of the famed children's book. It has simple cartoon pictures and humorous descriptions of monstrous creatures, all the way from A – Aboleth to Z – Zuvembie.
A scuffed and well‐worn text written with manticore blood ink on fine linen paper, bound in aged dried leather. It bears the title “Elementary Principles of the Arcane Instrument”.
Lords of the Pit; a Guidebook to Devils: A beautifully illustrated book, bound in leather with a pentagram on the cover. It describes the various types of devils with dubious accuracy.
Gusty Fintagel’s Most Excellent Miscellany: A cheaply printed chapbook of random facts, lists and bits of trivia. It would be perfect for someone to memorize before a social event and pepper in the information to create an illusion of schooling or worldliness.
An obviously handmade bark‐covered annotated scrapbook filled with rare pressed flowers and herbs, and exotic feathers.
A blue leather folio entitled “The Fey King of Darkwood and Other Tragedies”. It was written by the celebrated bard and playwright Iancu Petronas.
A History of the Lonely Coast: A historical tome written by Brenn Unger, it is a dry account loaded with bias towards the Locher family. The book is of black leather with silver‐bound edges.
The Sampalataya: A leather tube containing a long scroll with carved wooden handles. Told horizontally along the scroll is an illustrated epic poem on the birth of the gods of the distant kingdom of Gopura. Unrolling the scroll slowly tells the story.
A torture manual bound in skin of dubious provenance, featuring disturbing etchings. It was written and illustrated by the notorious Count Vaklav of Treblik.
A heavy tome with a steel scale cover inlaid with carnelians written by Elfric Stonyfist. Entitled “Songs of the Dwarves”, the text contains the traditional versions of classical Dwarven songs as well as detailed stories of their origin.
A spellbook bound in basilisk skin, branded with the arcane mark of the wizard Vaskaren a noted abjurer.
When the Stars are Right: A book roughly bound in mottled purple leather and marked with a large staring eye. Supposedly written by Idris Bahar, it contains insane ramblings about eldritch beings from the alien realms beyond our own.
A book bound in wooden covers, with paintings of flowers and plants decorating the pages. The text contains prayers to the Nature Goddess and details various methods to commune with nature, encourage the growth of plants and speak to animals.
The Poems of Caranthir Greenmantle: A blue leather folio decorated with silver, containing twelve loose sheets, each a handwritten poem.
Decline and Fall of the Hobgoblin Empire: A painfully dry historical text bound in barghest pelt and set with three sapphires.
Common Mycological Meals: A recipe book, all focused around making food out of easily accessible fungi, mosses and mushrooms. Its pages are made out of an unusually textured material with a light-yellow hue.
A gruesome manuscript bound in what is probably dwarfskin, judging by the number of hairs still left on it. The text is written in Infernal and entitled “Sculptors of Men”. Even without being able to read the text, it’s clearly full of anatomical diagrams, runes and sigils, alchemical recipes and handwritten marginalia. Knowledgeable PC’s who can read the text are able to determine that it is a manual on how to create flesh golems and animate them through demonic power rather than through arcane or alchemical means. These changes make the construct much cheaper and easier to animate but with exponentially more risk to the creator’s soul and the ease of which the golem can be controlled.
A cheap-looking book whose cover bears the image of a handsome half-elf with a cheesy grin splitting his face. Titled “Breaking Through” it is an autobiography of the mildly famous bard Shagwyn Starfellow. The story itself is a turgid, self-aggrandizing affair with occasional spelling errors, anecdotes which are exaggerated far beyond belief, unfounded criticism of his siblings and some of the least funny jokes you can remember having been committed to parchment.
A slim volume bound in an orange-red slipcase which feels warm to the touch. Entitled “Elementary Pyromancy” it is written entirely in Infernal. The book contains promisingly detailed arcane symbols, with runes the reader immediately associates with fire and flame.
Entitled “The Atlas of Forever” and the bright blue ink seems to crackle on the page, and the reader immediately senses that the book is old and powerful.
A black board-bound book with bright bands ribbons. It’s partly unreadable with age. You think it says something like “Arcanus”
Hunger More: A book of various legends and fables all of which relate to the origin of the mythical being known as the Frost King. The compilation is entirely written in sylvan and none of the storied are marked as the “correct” version, as if the writer wanted the reader to decide which of them is the true story.
Tome of Solis: A spellbook with leather front and backing. On the front is a gold imprint of a magic circle with an image of a lion in the center of the magic circle. All text inside this book is made with gold and is unburnable.
A manuscript recounting the memories of a dying dwarf folk hero.
A notebook detailing an elvish account of an important treaty being signed over 400 years ago.
A girdle book mounted in cobalt leather backing ermine. The book itself is trimmed with brass tabs but the vellum pages are blank.
A fragmentary diary of a mercenary recruit who was separated from his squad and died in the local area. According to his own scribbled words he took on a mortal wound and has able to hole up, write his last words and will drink his flask of brandy and try to drift off peacefully.
Manual of the Numinous Realms: A book bound in orichalchum, written in silver ink on the finest vellum, and illustrated with strange diagrams that move on their own, the manual describes the interplay of elemental forces and spiritual currents that underlie the illusion we call reality. According to the text, by manipulating these fundamental levers of reality, you may accomplish great feats of magic.
A tome is filled with unintelligible runes from languages long forgotten. If somehow deciphered, it details a theory of magic one practiced by those referred to as the “Mejai” who stole the souls of those who opposed them and bound them within objects giving them great power at the cost of the spirit’s eternal torment.
A large, leather bound, gold trimmed ledger containing the complete financial information of a duke of the nearby kingdom. The archive goes back five years and the information contained within would be extremely valuable to the duke's enemies as blackmail.  The duke himself would probably offer a reward of some sort on its discrete return.
A small lexicon of nautical terms.
Travels of a Planeswaler: A cloth-bound book containing lurid tales of seductive genies, underwater cities and fiery snakelike creatures.
A tome with a cover promising one hundred wonderful stories. All but one have been torn out.
A small journal titled “A Guide To Creating A World Without End”. It always smells like the delicious confectionery known as lokum.
The Measure: A massive codex of duties, laws, and crimes, the Measure serves as a guide to a strict, ordered society. The semi-religious text is written and maintained by the militant order known as the Hell Knights. Based upon centuries of legal codes from ancient empires, as well as passages from the strictures of Hell itself, this body of laws extols justness rather than justice.
An evil tome of dark construction with wrinkled patches of rough skin that have been sewn together around plates of some hard material that serves as the cover. Bones from two human hands have been fastened to the binding as if cradling the book. It’s is always bone chillingly cold to the touch as if stealing heat from anyone foolish enough to look inside. When opened, it smells of brimstone and copper. Inside, profane diagrams and hideous illustrations accompany spells penned in some fiendish script. Everything is composed in crimson but not in ink. Those who choose to read from it will discover it the spellbook of a powerful necromancer.
An old book filled with blank pages. Anything written in these books disappears at sunset.
Manifestations Arcanum: A quintessential text written by an archmage from a previous era. This enormous tome outlines the metaphysics of magic, how it works and the divine symbology, sacred geometry and the religious practices involved.
A book with no name, but it holds the true history and ascension of an old but very powerful deity.
The Clouded Mirror: A encyclopedia of portals and other means of interplanar travel, including secret paths between planes that are not normally considered contiguous, ways to reach and navigate the Far Realm, and instructions to find hidden places that are normally inaccessible.
A Deal with the Devil: A tome detailing various historical contracts that have been made with devils. The text goes to great lengths to make it sound as if it were actually very easy to find loopholes in fiendish contracts. Insightful readers suspect that the book may have been written or published by servants of the infernal powers in an effort to lure unwitting souls to believe that they can outwit a demon when the average person is in fact far more likely to lose their soul in an unholy bargain than come out ahead.
Death Eternal: A book written by an ancient dwarven smith famous for making cursed blades. It describes rituals needed to create blades that trap the souls of those killed by them, with the blades growing in strength as the number of souls trapped within grows.
Under The Silver Moon: A hidebound book that contains information on lycanthropy and the effects that it may bestow upon a creature lucky enough to be gifted it. The author makes lycanthropy sound like a REALLY good idea with little to no downsides.
Cooking with Grandma: A seemingly pleasant-sounding cookbook whose first few pages are simple wholesome recipes designed for two people working together. The book was actually written by hags, and the majority of the text goes into great detail explaining how the flesh and bones of older humans can be used to make delicious food.
Fall of Revelation: A heretical tome bound in the skin of the author, Hazeomeel (An angel), it describes the celestial's fall from the heavens because it attempted to use divine prophecy to find which humans could be killed to prevent evil from occurring.
The Endless Litany: A thick tome whose every single page of which is filled with the same phrase repeated over and over again “The end is never the end is never the end is never the end”. Despite this monotony, when a creature starts reading from the first page, they can not stop of their own volition, nor will they ever reach the end no matter how long they spend reading it as the book has an infinite number of pages.
Paradoxomicon: A bound volume of the collected works of a plane-shifter wizard who has dedicated his life to finding loopholes in magic and testing them in parallel planes of existence, collapsing each one of them in doing so.
Jerbe Kendalcanthe's 'Love Elixirs': An alchemical tome detailing the formula and instructions on how to make a highly addictive potion that possesses no benefits other than addiction. The book warns that small villages have been wiped out as every resource is pooled into acquiring the materials needed to produce more.
Into the Labyrinth: A tome bound in red leather emblazoned with the symbol of an open flame stamped in gold leaf on the front cover. In a well-practiced, easily readable handwriting, the author had penned a short warning: “This volume is strictly forbidden from being read, except by those ranked at least Bishop or higher in the Church of The Eternal Heavenly Flame. In it are detailed some of the foulest, most pernicious pieces of magic ever devised. This volume only exists in order to offer ways to defeat these spells, in the off chance these heresies ever resurface and must be confronted again. Be warned, the spells grow progressively more deranged towards the end of the book. The original scribe was driven quite insane by recording them, and ended up having to be committed to an asylum.”

She dialed into Kit’s number she wasn’t sure if it would breach the dimensional wall or what ever the fuck you called it. But if she could text maybe she could call through to. Sure enough it seemed to work with kit picking up on the other end. Though, there was alot of static and he had to wonder if this was more of egg tech that Starline stole. Either way he was glad the old com system was still working despite everything.
Tumblr media
“ Hey Drippy you readin’ me? “
There was a pause before she could hear him through the static
“ Y---u Cutt--- o--- g---e me a --- Mo--- “
Well great she couldn’t hear him to well, but what was he saying? give him a what? She waited for some kind of response. Looked like maybe text was an easier solution but after several moments, the coms seemed to clear up and kits face materialled on the screen.
Tumblr media
“ Sorry... had to boost the signal, and run it through a filter... think i have a connection now Ma’am... “
Tumblr media
“ Good... i gotta meetin’ soon but, yer way smarter then i am so.... we need papers, proof of who we are. Which ya know we dun got... we need it if we are to do this all legal like. Which i wanna do... give us a real shot drippy, so any ideas? “

“ Well You could speak with Restoration, they could get us papers but its likely to take some time. An easier route might be to request Refugee status, Considering the conflicts that are on going here i think its a plausible request. Then just tell them what ever records may have been were lost in the conflict... even if they ask Restoration, it’s a common problem after the outbreak. Lots of folks were lost in the shuffle and tons of data centers are trashed to... That’s probably our best answer. See what there policy is on refugees, go from there.. “
Tumblr media
“ Guess that works... i just hope little miss princess dun go asking to many questions. Reminds me... we dun talk about starline or what happend right? i dun know how they’d treat us then but right now they just think we are normal average folk and i wanna keep it that way...  Anyway get shit together i’ll be there soon as i get these papers--- shit i think i hear Carol Waking up, Talk later Drippy stay safe... “
Tumblr media
“ Roger That see you soon Ma’am! i really do miss you surge... you were gone longer then you said... you would.. “
Tumblr media
“ Yea sorry... things kinda snowballed... but promise won’t stay away like this for a long while ok? see ya soon...”
She cut the coms and leaned back on the couch and sighed closing her eyes, well She should probably go see Neera. Drippy always was the smart one, hopefully this would circumvent the issue and keep her secrets. Still she wouldn’t rush Carol, let her and her man rest up. Hell she didn’t even hear him come in he was either real quiet or, she dozed off again---damn why was she nodding off lately? she’d have Kit give her a systems check once he was here.
