In light of my recent… Minor (tm) Ranchers obsession, and also in light of the confirmation that the life series are canon to dbhc, I raise for consideration: dbhc wamcherms…. ;.; sniff. wanchers…

Tango is already deviant by the start of Double Life, so the burned ranch isn’t what triggers his deviancy or anything, but this does leave him with permanent damage. His model is built to withstand extreme heat and explosions, but I imagine that he gets so angry that his insides fry, circuits catching flame and making the plastic shell crack from the inside out, kind of like an engine fire erupting from the hood of a car. Jimmy knows next to nothing about androids, so he just does what he thinks is best: keeping Tango from hurting anyone else and… shouting every computer lingo phrase he can think of in the hopes it’ll do something to get him to calm down.

No like I might be late to this but I also just can't get over the fact that Katara and Hakoda found Kya potentially burned to death bc I don't think Yon Rha had any weapons (and he was a firebender anyway) which is both a horrific way to perish and is a devastating death to witness.

Like Katara being 8 years old, witnessing this gruesome fate of her mother with her father. Sokka wasn't there to stumble upon his mother's body, and Hakoda may have prevented him from seeing it once he and Katara found her.

Of course Katara is so fiercely protective of her mother's memory; she had to grow around not only losing her, but had to grow around her last visual memory of her mother having been literally burned alive.

Ok so remember how the hot iron incident happened before Neil was 10? And Neil being small even as an adult, we can infer that that burn covered a good portion of his child-sized shoulder. Yeah.... that's dead skin. Neil said it peeled off on the iron, so it was bad enough for it to heal solely as scar tissue.

Do you know what happens with kids with big chunks of scar tissue unless they have surgery/medical monitoring? That part doesn't grow right. That skin doesn't stretch, and depending on how it's located it can be a problem in a major articulation like that.

All this to say that I firmly believe Neil's right shoulder is significantly lower than the other and he can't really pull that arm as much towards his back because it pulls on the scar.

some extra facts about the design

He lost his arm and part of his face was burned in a battle with a powerful witch who he did end up killing

His sword and telescope were gifted to him by Caleb when he was first mate on his brother's ship

His arm is rebuilt with the help of Kikimora, a member of his crew and now he can use magic through it
