i feel for Nicola it would be Loyalty or Want. Fear is also possible ... I didn't think Fear at first, but I do remember having thoughts re: that for her when I did my PTs with her a couple years back. Fear of losing what she had, fear of harm to her family, fear of losing Yakov and not being able to protect Kol and the rest of their friends.

Loyalty works bc she is quite Loyal and I always saw her as Team Dad [to Kol's Team Mom. Sorry Yakov, she's stealing that title]. But I didn't choose that because it doesn't strike me the way it strikes for Irvin, who both I see as RespnsibleTM. They both have a sense of 'I have to help/do more' and 'If I don't/it goes wrong, it's my fault'. But I feel think Irvin leans more the former and Nicola the latter. Like for Irvin, I think it's because he has this protective nature -- and Nicola. I mean she does to, but IDK.

So, I almost went with Want because she is studious and she Wants her dad safe a nd she Really Wants her old life [and she Wants Yakov lmao ;-D]. And, ofc, bc the stats work .... but thinking on fear .... hrm.

You were born into a family full of FC Barcelona fans, so naturally, you became one aswell. Even after meeting your boyfriend, a Chelsea player, he couldn't change your mind. Thankfully, these two teams are in different leagues so you don't have to worry about having an aneurysm everytime these two played eachother (except for the champions league and thats also just a maybe)

This was a conversation the two of you have had multiple times, even before your baby was born. It was always shrugged off but now, that your son is here. It was time to decide.

hopping out of the car, excitement ran through your bones. and then utter fear snapped them right in half.

a draft of realization swifts through the street and hits you hard. you and nick have been going out for a few weeks now, but your still yet to meet his brothers. let alone any of his family for that matter. but now, you are.

you stand outside the 50s themed diner, chasing your hands nervously through your hair. worry presents you as you think about the possibility of matt and chris not taking a liking too you. so as you fix your hair, the only thing you can think of is if they hate me at least ill look fucking amazing.

pulling out your phone, you decide texting nick that your here is the best idea to get rid of the annoying jitters. to your surprise, he responds almost immediately, and rushes out of the building just as fast, if not faster.

"hey," he smiles, skidding to a stop in front of you. "nervous?"

you shrug. but its no use, your incredibly nervous and nick can see right through you. i guess that's what you get when you start dating your best friend; they know everything about you.

nick lightly frowns, reaching his hand out to soothingly rub your arm. "matt and chris are gonna love you." he giggles when you roll your eyes, squeezing your shoulder before dropping his hand. "at least you'll get a feel of what my parents are like, in a way."

you furrow your brows at the slightly shorter boy, "dont even start about me meeting your parents." you huff, sticking your hands in your pockets. "your brothers are scary enough and they are literally knock offs of you."

he smiles, a small laugh escaping his lungs as he reaches his hand out for yours. "man up, kid," he giggles. "im hungry as fuck."

amusedly rolling your eyes, you take nicks hand in yours. only to be quickly dragged into the diner.

walking in, your immediately welcomed by the timey atmosphere. there's a red radio sitting on the checkered counter gently playing various songs from elvis presley, buddy holly, and aretha franklin. the sweet sound of their recognizable voices drifting into through your brain as you gawk at the large mural on the wall. the wall consists of large hand painted pictures of marilyn monroe, elvis presley, and a few other celebrities of their time.

the energy of the diner easily cools down your nerves, distracting you from the oncoming hours. but its only for a few seconds until nicks voice rips you away from your haze.

"well, here they are!" he mumbles, making you turn to look at his two triplet brothers. you cant help but notice how flustered nick had gotten within the last 20 seconds. too, nervous of introducing you to his life long best friends.

matt stands up with a smile, reaching out to dap you up. "im chris, nice to meet you bro."

ah. you've never personally spoken to them, and nick mustve assumed you knew who was who, because you have it flipped around. mixing names with faces, assuming matt was chris, and that chris was matt.

never have you been more grateful to not speak your thoughts out loud. if you called chris by his brothers name, you would've turned around and left. left the country if you will.

"yeah, you too." you smile, dapping him up aswell.

the real matt stands up and leans over the table, giving you an unintentionally awkward side hug due to his position over the table. "matt, nice to meet you." he smiles.

"you too," you repeat, maintaining your smile. desperately trying to hold it and not look like an idiot.

"so," nick says through nervously clenched teeth, scratching the back of his neck as his eyes dart between you and his brothers. you meet his gaze and his eyes are wide with panic. skin flushed a soft pink as the nerves run through him.

you want to comfort him, but that's near to impossible when you seem to be just as nervous as he, maybe even more. you hate seeing nick freaked out, but what can you do?

you smile lightly, if you can't verbally comfort him you can at least try and play the part of being calm and not on the verge of an absolute freak out. he searches your eyes quickly before turning to his brothers.

they both flash you and nick reassuring grins, sensing your unease.

sucking in a shaky breath, you sit down first. the triplets following your action and immediately breaking out into questions.

clearly they have been holding off because they ask you things that you figured nick would've answered already. like when the two of you first met, did you have any classes together in high school, and so on. but that made you feel a little better. they wanted to ask you these questions themselves, and not from another person.

you slowly eased into the conversation, answers to random questions coming smoothly unlike they did a few minutes ago. seeing your tension slip away, nick eventually stopped staring at you making sure you were okay. your comfort made his comfort welcomed again. you getting along with his brothers was the one thing he had been most worried about since the four of you scheduled this.

once the waitress finally makes their round and ends up at your table, you all make your orders. she leaves, and your quickly bombarded with questions again.

nick's laugh rings through the air, immediately fueling your heart with warmth as he smiles. "guys, lets chill out. this isn't an interrogation."

chris teasingly rolls his eyes, "can i just ask one more question? please? this will be the last one i swear to god."

nick shoots a glance at you, checking if you had any input on this. you just shrug your shoulders in response. honestly enjoying the attention as much as you hate to admit. he huffs, "last one."

"okay," chris giggles, putting his hands together. you turn to look at him, waiting for him to go on. "me and matt gotta know. how's your moms potato salad?"

"chris." nick hisses.

matt and chris immediately break out into laughter. not having any idea what they mean, you answer truthfully.

you smile, "i love her potato salad."

"uh oh," matt giggles. eyes comically widening as he puts a hand up to hide his growing laughter. he turns to look at chris and they share a look, resulting in more laughter.

nick turns to face you, a look of annoyance sitting on his face. "ignore them."

his remark only makes you seem to laugh too. at this point, you have no idea what your laughing at. nick stays expressionless for several more seconds before he cracks and smiles too, playfully rolling his light eyes.

yourusername: on today’s episode of “i had a day off at work and my boyfriend and best friend and son had team bonding today so i was left alone because my other roommates had a game tonight”, i decided that i, was going to support my boyfriend’s boyfriends—i mean roommates!

how generous of me right? i was in the upper bowl to watch the game so no one saw me but as is my job to be a professional nuisance to centers and defenders to keep the lethal flying piece of rubber out of my pretty net, i had to humble them somehow during warm ups.

for those wondering why i’m wearing my boyfriend’s boyfriend #2’s jersey, i lost a bet with him. for those also wondering what the bet was, it was on my boyfriend. i THOUGHT my boyfriend was a sweet person but apparently he took a page out of the enemy of silence’s book (@/trevorzegras) and got TWO penalties last game.

turcs was not impressed as you can imagine, and neither was homewrecker (@/jordanjs224) because apparently “homewreckers need to stick together and that comes with wearing my jersey” idk man im just their roommate that willingly has pieces of rubber shot at me at lethal speeds

and what this could have been, but isnt, because neither of them take it this way, think of it this way, because theyre too much alike, and not like this at all, but what this could have been, in intention and reception, is a request for help. i give up, i cant figure this out, but can you? the doctor doesnt mean this, and yaz has always been too attentive to the limits, too respectful of the doctor's boundaries (from "who, me? no. never doubted. don't know what you mean" in ghost monument to "can we just live in the present") to misinterpret it this way. so theyre on the same page. a page, as always, decided on by the doctor. but it does make the perfect set up for the finale

because i do think, sort of, that yaz fixed it. not you know the millennia of trauma but the specific inability of 13 to trust people. the clara/river/missy/bill my-friends-die-or-are-not-what-they-seem-or-both cant-hold-anyones-hand-but-my-own inability to trust her friends are her friends and they will not like explode into gore and viscera if she touches them (which now that ive said it i bet is what she has nightmares about. perfect match with what i think yaz has nightmares about which is the doctor exploding into gore and viscera and not being able to do anything abt it. actually the best idea i think ive ever written abt what yaz has nightmares about is "or you take off your coat and youre wearing dynamite", but i digress) that, i think yaz sort of fixes when she saves the doctor and saves the world and i think if 13 had lived she'd have trusted yaz after that in a way she couldnt before and maybe even that realisation of "you saved my life" in that weird malleable state of post-pseudoregeneration might have had a hand in why 14 is the way he is

wanted to add to this, a more detailed opinion\explanation (??) about betty’s gaslighting arc. bc we see armando demand why she didn't tell him that that she knew about the plan and the letter. 

we know she wishes it wasn’t real, that she hopes it a very sick joke. we see her test the waters; her watching him read it, throwing it away. she keeps a copy of it and watches his moves fm then on. her decision to fuck with him isn’t premeditated, it comes at the result of knowing him. she’s seen first hand how he treats marcela (and how marcela treats him).

the night of the picasso exhibit, when they’re in the car and marcela calls him and he goes off on her, saying he’s not with anyone and betty’s face as he’s yelling at marcela--

she’s genuinely like, ‘hey, wtf is wrong with him?’. bc its so extreme. she’s seen them fight, but this is like, first hand where she only sees his side of it. and after the phone call she goes on to say,  ‘i feel bad, on top of all the lies, and you mistreating her (marcela). no, i dont feel great about it’. 

fast forward to nicolas, later on asks betty ‘when are you gonna tell him you know? or are you just going to keep doing this?’ but again, betty knows armando--knows the worst of him despite loving him. if she had confronted him about it the day she knew, he would have denied it like he denies cheating on marcela to marcela’s face. 

look, it was gaslight or be gaslit. 

a lot of fics that play with ‘if he knew when she knew, this would have happened’ don’t understand that armando is not emotionally there yet. he’s yet to grasp the depth of his feelings or understand the affect his actions have on her. if betty had confronted him that day or even the next, armando would have done everything in his power to lie, make her believe it IS a sick joke. anything to not lose her. he never would have admitted to his part in the plan. and betty knows this bc she’s seen him do this to marcela time and time again. 

so she plays armando’s (and mario’s) own game. her choices are limited. she sticks to this and the only way that she will stop is if (1) he stops following the instructions of the letter or (2) he realizes that she knows and confronts HER about it. she wants HIM to to admit to HER what he’s done. 

but he doesn’t. and when he finally knows why she’s acted this way, its too late. part of his arc is learning to admit to others and himself when he’s wrong. his ego, his stubbornness, his selfishness---it deters him from the things he realizes too late that he wants most (beatriz’s love and trust back). 

gaslighting arc is so important for both of them bc it’s them at their worst, its betty’s knowledge of him, it’s his knowledge of her bc he knows something’s wrong. he knows this isn’t her. but he doesn’t want to look too closely at her actions and the why of it. it’s so much easier to believe that he could be losing her to someone else than to admit that she now knows the ugliest part of him.

ohh sweet girls, let me explain this to you, do you knw the concepto of INTERNALIZE fatphobia???? you dont like Penelope`s actions because they are really bad, but the truth is they werent realky bad, in fact many other characters did bad things, daphne gaf about consent with her husband, kate and anth cheat on edwina and make fun of her, they ruined her life and gaf about it . But yes, Pen actions were bad. So apprentely there are ANY serious reason, you made all up in yoru heads becasue what you really dont like is seeing someone who is not a model being love, you dont like seeing a man who is not toxic being love. Ypu want us, wallflowers in the shadows and the fat girlies hide alone where they belong

Nicola Coughlan is beautiful, unfortunately, the character she's playing is awful. Penelope being plus-sized isn't enough to make me okay with her calling Kate a beast. It's not enough to make her burn book seem like a feminist pursuit even though she ruined her cousin out of jealousy over a man. Some might say that she's not malicious, but every time she has a choice she chooses to spill secrets in a way that will guarantee maximum public humiliation. She cries, but it's not due to real guilt but out of a desire to avoid earned consequences. She's a jealous, petty, gossip writer not a feminist icon.

Seeing characters harm others and being told that it wasn't that bad and I can't be mad at them because they've had it rough Is one of my biggest pet peeves. If I only dislike Penelope because she's plus-sized, then why did I spend most of my time watching OUAT criticizing Regina Mills, a thin character with a penchant for abusing others and never having to answer for it?

I think there is a very real need for plus-sized characters who are whole, fully realized characters who are seen as worthy of love and desirable. I still remember my disappointment when Glee nuked Mercedes' relationship with Sam for no reason after treating her like an afterthought season after season. Moving on, I think Penelope could've been a character I loved, unfortunately after showing her behave badly for three seasons instead of trying to redeem Penelope the writers forced every character with a right to be angry to accept Penelope's behavior because she's a wallflower.

P.S. I made several posts saying I understood Kate and Anthony's motivations, but they caused Edwina pain. She forgave them, but let's not pretend she didn't get to confront them for it and tell them exactly how it made her feel. It hurt, but her life wasn't ruined.

Destiny / Zendaya : I always pictured Destiny in my mind as a mix between Rue in Euphoria/Ellie from The Last of Us and Buffy the vampire slayer. Zendaya would obviously be the perfect actress to be Destiny.

Aïssa / Angelica Ross : I highly recommend you to watch Pose and American Horror Story to see her at her best ! She really has a powerfull energy and a lot of style. Though she's a bit older for the character, she would totally slay.

Leïla / Camélia Jordana or Lyna Khoudri : Both of these artists are french and arabic and both of them can be as sweet as super badass so they would be the perfect choice.

Milo / Logan Lerman or younger Jake Gyllenhaal : Both of them have brown hair and bright eyes. Also, totally random but I wouldn't mind seeing them be a gay man :p Jake did it already perfectly once so ...

Hiro and Renji / Manny Jacinto : I know he's not even japanese (but does Hollywood really care ?) but I really love how sweet and tough he can be. So perfect for the both of them.

Chloe / Nicola Coughlan : I know we see her a lot because of Bridgerton lately (and good for her !) but I discovered her talent watching Derry Girl and Barbie and she's absolutly perfect everytime !

Mindy / Jenna Ortega : I actually wanted Mindy to look like Jenna because I couldn't picture someone else for this part. Jenna has become a new horror queen and I can't wait to see what she'll do next. One of my favourite actress from this generation.

Julia / Taylor Swift Reputation mode : I always pictured Julia as Taylor's evil representation of herself. This image actually really amuse me and I wanted to play with the "perfect highschool bitch" archetype for the best of the story. Also, Taylor would totally slay in this part. I forgot to include Emma Robert as Chanel Oberlin in Scream Queens, main reference for Julia's mind and behaviour !

Paul / Glenn Powell as Chad Radwell in Scream Queens : If Julia is Chanel then her boyfriend must be Chad right ? So Paul is basically based on this character but with a sweeter and cleverer side I guess this time :p

yeah so this is where PR proper comes into it, so nic and luke are best friends and have a really great friendship that is just so gorgeous that people genuinely shipped them or maybe they too are hiding a relationship. it was enough that interviewers themselves fucking asked them and they were so vague. so bloody vague and it's such a mind fuck. but to then on the day of the release of the show to do that? to be like lol sorry we played you all is just *tips head back and sighs* it's an absolute reality check and it shook a lot of people.

the four of you currently sit on the floor in front of the couch. your all bundled up in hoodies and blankets as you try to fight the chilly air of christmas eve. monopoly lays sprawled out carelessly in front of you and your friends while 'a christmas story' plays on the tv.

"matt you're cheating again!" nick yells accusedly. throwing a stack of colorful money on the ground, pointing aggressively at his brother.

"nuh uh," you say, waving your hands. you take a sip of your hot cocoa before narrowing your eyes at the aggravated brunette to your left. "i don't fuck with cheaters."

chris bursts out into a fit of laughter before sharply pointing at you, "thats exactly what baylen said!"

"see!" nick smirks triumphantly. "youre a cheater and everyone knows it."

"i was 10!"

you all laugh as matt dramatically throws his money on the ground before storming off to the kitchen.

tears start to brim your eyes as your stomach tightens from all the laughter. barely coming to an end when matt walks back in with a cookie in his hand, eyeing all of you down. "if you all dont shut up ill make you shut up." he grumbles, biting off the head off of the gingerbread man.

"okay we don't need to get violent!" nick says, putting his hands up defensively in the air.

matt sits back down on the floor with a groan, rewrapping himself in a fuzzy red blanket. "i hate this game."
