Summary: Imagine Danny goes to college in Gotham. Given his halfa nature, he's fairly not worried about most parts of Gotham and given he needs less sleep now, he likes to wander campus and Gotham itself like he's a natural Gothathes…at night like the half dead-half living man he was. During these wanderings, he finds pieces of bat tech from fights. He figures it's safer in his care(and because he's really curious about the local vigilantes) so…he takes it. It's usually just tiny things that the bats– probably –wouldn't even notice gone and he has things to fiddle with now. Unfortunately(for the bats), he finds Red Hood's destroyed helmet and takes it back to his dorm to fix, figuring it would allow him to return most of the items he snatched without a second thought. He doesn't realize it has an active tracker in it so the bats, when they activate it and discover it on the Gotham University campus, reasonably panic and flip on the camera...only to come face to face with adoption bait using bits of their missing tech to fix the helmet.

Basically they're more concerned about the kid stealing their tech than the fact that their tech was stolen because this boy is so not okay ahah

There, a friendly ghost couple took him in. Now recovering from having his entire life changed, Danny just wants to live a normal life, spend time with his new parents, go to school (which his new parents forced him to do) and occasionally spy on the ghost couple’s living son and his adopted kids. Danny was told not to interact with them directly though. Which is fine! What could he possibly do to get their attention? He can’t be the only blue-eyed black haired kid in the city right? And of course he will deny any connection if asked. Now if only Damian would stop staring at him in school.

Summary: The Nasty Burger explodes, taking everyone Danny had ever loved (plus his English teacher) with it. There is no setback. There is no redo. The only way to go is forward. After vehenemently refusing to go with Vlad, Danny ends up in the foster system in Chicago. His rogues decide to follow their favorite plaything. But without the ambient ectoplasm of Amity Park, they can't manifest in a way anyone else else can see. And with Danny having resolved to never have anything to do with his ghostly half again, he begins to pick up "unexplainable" injuries. This, coupled with what various psychiatrists agree is depression and suicidal ideation, lands Danny in a mental health ward. Then, after a shocking confession, an asylum. And with his very wealthy godfather still fighting for custody arranging to foot the bill; only the best, most well known asylum in the country will do. Too bad Vlad doesn't actually do any research into this Arkham Asylum. Too bad Danny doesn't really care where he goes or what happens to him as long as he doesn't become Dan.

He doesn't get close enough to ID them and instead watches over them from a distance until the GIW close in on a man about four years older than him with a white streak in his hair. Next thing Danny knows he's shoving the man into the passenger seat of a car while their under fire from the GIW, hotwiring the damn thing and tearing ass down the street. Meanwhile Jason is wondering how he convinces a kid who isn't much taller than Damian that he's not in any danger all while also trying not to die as this kid not to get them both killed with his GTA driving style. Damn, he'll have to tell Alfred he's going to be late for dinner.
