Okay so Ima just post this before I chicken out and forget.

I like stories and I like writing stories. I tend to practice with storytelling and worldbuilding with AUs and What-Ifs, since it's easier to write about something already established. I've had this story idea bouncing around for a while and I kinda just wanna get it out there cause why not and I think anyone who finds this might find the idea interesting.

I'd like to preface by say that this idea came to me in a dream, and while the events are a bit foggy (mostly dialogue) it did give me and idea of characters, settings, relationships and plot, along with other things.

This is Science-Fantasy since it leans more towards Fantasy than Fiction along with most of the mechanics being either science-based or fantasy-based. Y'all get to hear my rambles and word vomit and I'm not sorry.

The only reason for the cut is because it is pure rambling from here on out and I don’t want this mess of thoughts to block other things, so

Story Idea: A lonely demon wishes for some company. 7 people (it technically ends up being 6, each from different time periods) come into contact with this demon. They each make a contract that gives them powers but also binds them to the demon. The demon originally creates the contract to create an army, but gets attached to each person.

Interesting Ideas: The demon travels to different places, not often but enough to be noticed by the group.

This next part is gonna be confusing cause it includes character names (most of whom I'm updating their refs) I won't do characters here, they'll each get their own post explaining them but I need to explain to world (how I wrote it in my doc) so,

Some Rules of the Story:

It is agreed upon in the group that nobody ask directly about why they joined, everyone is entitled to their privacy

In order to persuade people to join, Balthazar created the promise of a power to anyone willing to join, when Owen accepted Balthazar held up his end and granted Owen powers

The powers are mainly what Balthazar thought would be best based on answers given to him (i.e. the power to protect others, the power to see my creativity to life, the power to understand others, etc.)

Each person has a bracelet of their preferred colour and style that allows them to use their power, contact the others, and store items

After jumping, the group usually sets up shop in a way that will allow them to be inconspicuous and gather information

Each 'episode' would follow 1-3 people at a time, whatever happens during the adventure is important

World Setup:

In this world, races refers to the deficient species of humanoids (vampires, elfs, dwarfs, humans, etc.)

Angels and demons are seen as myths as the two have their own world that they inhabit. (Demons are from Phobos, Angels from Lotis)

Demons, devils, and tieflings have their own dimension/plane that they live on. (Angels are the same)

The Earth equivalent (Giea) holds the more human-looking races (vampires, elfs, dwarfs, humans, etc.)

The world is D&D but more modern (so D&D plot in a modern setting)

Different races have eras in which they were more prominent (Victorian Era = Vampires, Hippie Era = Elfs, Industrial Revolution = Dwarves/Androids, etc.)

Coffee Talk like setting (fantasy creatures in the modern era)

Magic is something that is not seen in the modern day, something that was eventually turned into “fantasy”

Demons and Angels are the only races to have innate magic, with higher-up demons and angels have more complex magic like dimension hopping and time magic

Giea is the Earth adjacent where the more human-looking races inhabit (elfs, humans, vampires, etc.)

Phobos is where the demon races mostly resided (with a Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel-like hierarchy)

Lotis is where the angel races reside (having an almost utopian setting)

Iyama is a jungle-like planet with animal shifters and anthropomorphic animals, the only transportation being either on foot or with a car/plane like vehicle

This is such a mess oh dear, but when I post more of this world I'll probably try to use drawings to explain it since I'm shit at verbally explaining things.

But yea, this is a story that I had an idea for, put down for some time, then came back to it as it sorta overtook my mind with new ideas.

This story doesn't really have a name, at least not one that I've been drawn to, so at the moment it's called Contractual Obligations
